I follow Eurovision and I place some bets on it each year. But probably I'm not going to watch Eurovision semifinals this year, as it will happen exactly on the same time as Champions league and Europa league semifinals. But I will turn on final on Saturday.
So far I heard just few songs from this year contest. Loreen is big favorite according to bookmakers and there is no doubt that she will win again, same like in 2012. For the first time her song didn't left me big impression, but when I listened it second time, I liked it more.
Seems that UK finally took Eurovision seriously, especially when it's held in their country after many years in the bottom. Their song is catchy and it sounds good on radio:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRaVGKk4k6k
Poland is worth to mention. They have generic pop song and singer who can't sing live. Compare music video and live version:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANM4CwbE0Is
There is so many memes made about it. Bejba, it's kinda krejza :D.

The first semi-final of this year's Eurovision is just hours away! We'll get to see the first 15 performers take the stage, and only the top 10 will make it through to the final. If you haven't picked your favorites yet, don't worry! You still have time to check out all the artists. And just in case you missed any of the songs, here's a quick rundown of all the performers, along with YouTube links to their official music videos and live performances.

These online votes will carry the same weight as one participating country in both the semi-finals and the grand final.

I might be biased but i think Finland got loudest audience respose in semi-finals, even though their autotune/compression technic failed at one point of the song. That was embarassing. But i will be gambling for it if i find decent odds for it from somewhere. Sweden had a safe bet with an epic song for any radio with a power playlist but i don't think it had enough that something for the big audience. Then again audience is not enough. There will be judges as well balancing the "troll" voting because apparently public doesn't know what song is best :P.

I would personally like if Kroatia won but that just might be a bit too avantgarde for big audience. But what do i know, big audience understood Bohemian rhapsody as well when it came.

That is the problem with this contest which I never have understood how the winners are decided, yes I know the televising votes but what I don't get how can Italy vote for example with full points for Sweden when we all know that the cultures of each country differ a whole lot from each other.I can understand Italy giving full points to Mediterranean countries as they are also there, and I can understand the Balkan countries giving full points to each other but certain countries favoring countries far far away as that Shreck movie says I don't get this and for me this way of voting has flaws, which is why I have never bet on this contest and don't plan on betting on it either.

Seems that bookmakers don't see other scenario than Loreen and Sweden win. She have great song, but it's not even close to song that she had in 2012 and won. And Finland looks like strongest candidate to give them fight. Jury voting is always contraversial part of voting. They also often vote based on relationship in poolitics or simply vote for neighbours.
Croatia isn't for everyone's taste, but I see them reaching good place. Such avangarde performances rarely can compete for a win, but Top 5 is possible.

I think that second semifinal was weaker. Only song that I really liked today was Austria, it's really catchy. Poland - no chance that Blanka was singing live and no autotune was used. But it's not surprising that she got into final. Really happy for my country Lithuania as we reached final - I wasn't sure about Monika chances with this song.
Shortly - Denmark, Romania, Iceland, Greece Georgia and San Marino failed to qualify.

My personal favorite is Isreal,i think they will also get the most points by the fans, but i doubt they will get from countries more. Loreen might have won last time but her song isnt at that level. Finland also looks strong this year and might surprise and win it. Other songs arent close to this three at all

Thanks for sharing the list of finalists and the odds for the contest winner. It's interesting to see Finland and Ukraine also have strong odds for the win. However, I'm curious as to why the odds for only a few candidates were shared. Is it because those are the only bets available on your platform, or could you provide odds for all the finalists?

I've seen several songs, but for me Sweden was one of the better ones. I do have the idea that this year the differences in the top are minimal. Last year Ukraine won, of course, mainly due to the very high favor factor of the rest of the world. I think this year will be different. Saturday night is the final. I believe the rules will be very different this year than usual. Not sure what the rules say this year. Last year Ukraine won, but the number 2 came from England and that is why the Eurovision song contest is held in Liverpool. I've seen a report, it's very much alive there in Liverpool and all the people seem to be on it. Still, I don't think it can be compared to a final of the CL or the FA cup in football.

There is an option to place bets on each of the final participants, however, I have shared the odds for the top 5 favorites only. The competition winner will be among these 5 countries, most likely.

I was on the hunt for odds at Winz Casino, but I couldn't seem to find the market anywhere. So, I did what any good gambler would do and hit up some other platforms (which shall remain nameless), where I found the odds for every single contestant in tonight's event. Time to place my bets and let Lady Luck do her thing!

We saw all songs and now voting is live. I want to say few words about songs that I liked or stuck to my memory.
Austria - really catchy song that stucks in head and I think we're going to hear it on radio after Eurovision.
Poland - if it would be singed live, that would be one of strongest songs. Nothing complicated, just simple pop song that fits to Eurovision
Sweden - main favorite, but I wouldn't say that was my favorite song
Italy - seems that they simply can't send bad songs to Eurovision
Ukraine - not bad, but for me their folk style songs fits better to Eurovision than elecetronic ones like this
Norway - is it only for looks that I heard something very similar before?
Isreal - they're getting hyped much, but at least for me it's nothing special, though Noa Kirel is really beautiful.
Croatia - song that you can love or hate. Personally I liked it a lot, but they're not going to win
UK - they have good song this year, but live performance on stage looks weak.

Really nice how UK included legendary songs made in Liverpool. Especially You'll never walk alone - it gave me goosbumps

As far as I can remember Ukraine's song wasn't that impressive in last year's contest but it still got so many points of course. Their being under attack by Russia was the biggest effect in that of course. This situation still hasn't changed completely though. Therefore I wonder if we will see a similar result again but I still think we will see a different champion this time.

Sweden's song is really lovely to be honest so it is my favourite as well. Finland has quite a different style maybe but I still think Sweden is the closest to win.

Sweden(the main favorite) won the Eurovision song contest. Congratulations to all the people, who placed bets at 1.54(or maybe 1.44).
I hope that you will spend well the millions, which you have earned from your bet. ;D
I totally don't care about pop music. I'm more into the rock/metal/rap side of music, so Eurovision has always been a cringe fest for me.
Anyway, this forum thread shouldn't be about the quality of the songs on Eurovision. This forum thread is about gambling, odds and placing bets. I'm curious about which betting platforms were accepting bets for the Eurovision song contest?

Well, it looks like all my bets are out the window. I was hoping for a more unconventional entry to take the crown this year instead of a mainstream pop song like the Swedish winner. But hey, at least the show was entertaining, and let's face it, the betting is just a fun way to add some excitement to the whole experience.

I'm curious about which betting platforms were accepting bets for the Eurovision song contest?

Well, there are quite a few betting platforms out there that would take your money and let you bet on almost anything! But yeah, sometimes you have to dig deep to find the Eurovision song contest market among all the sports markets on these bookmakers. It's like finding a needle in a haystack!

Betting on Eurovision is such a hard thing since always something unpredictable happens. Finland almost won after being so behind after judges voted. For some reason I don't like judges voting they tend to vote for more known names.

There was a quite nice odd gap between Sweden and Finland actually. I think it was still worth betting on Finland because they finished the contest quite close to Sweden in points. I really liked Sweden's song though therefore I believe they deserved to win definitely. It is still nice to follow Eurovision for me after all these years.

By the way, there was a huge performance drop for United Kingdom this time. They finished the previous contest at the 2nd position but this time they were one of the countries at the bottom.

Isreal - they're getting hyped much, but at least for me it's nothing special, though Noa Kirel is really beautiful

I also think that she is certainly one of the most beautiful singers who performed this year at the Eurovision, but that is not surprising considering that she comes from a country that has some of the most beautiful women in the world.

Croatia - song that you can love or hate. Personally I liked it a lot, but they're not going to win

I completely agree with that, and I think that many did not understand the message of the song at all, and that obviously resulted in such a small number of votes and a low place in the final ranking. People are obviously fed up with war, and they don't want it in any context, least of all in a competition like this.

Congratulations to Sweden and their singer who managed to win this competition again.

Any self-respecting sportsbook should have markets for Eurovision, you usually find them in categories names like "Other" or "Events".

a. Sportsbet had all the markets, alongside all the major political events, but also award events in the entertainment industry. Elections, usually but they had all the Grammys, Oscars, etc.). Bookmark https://sportsbet.io/sports/specials/outrights
Eurovision came under Music sub category.
b. Fairlay also has all the politics/markets/events section and is fairly well-stocked with options, if low in liquidity.

So, no, you don't really need to dig deep.

it was still quite exciting in the final. In particular, the influence of the home crowd was enormous. But the bookmakers showed that they know a lot about it, because when the Eurovision song contest started, Loreen was the big favorite with odds of around 1.50, then you are also a big favorite. And she has lived up to it twice and crosswise. I have read that she also managed to win this Eurovision song contest 11 years ago, but also with the same team as she has performed with now. So you see that a lot of experience is also very important. The points were very far apart.

Loreen's song was ok, with that voice you can make anything sound more than decent, but i think it was travesty that Sweden won. Finland would have won by landslide a with old rules without judges. I mean even the audience was chanting CHA CHA CHA loudly right after Sweden got their win, so that must have been an awkward moment for Loreen as käärijä had won the hearts of the public already.

I honestly feel like this might have something to do with the fact that next year when Sweden gets to host Eurovision (they are good hosts so it will be great tv), Abba turns 50 years. And sweden wasn't top favourite in public vote of any country. That seems like judges would have been paid off and whole thing planned.

And i lost money by betting on Käärijä, but i can't complain for that as that was exciting as hell to the end.

The level itself was not very bad, but there are also a number of numbers in between that you know cannot win. I don't understand why such genres are chosen. That Sweden won is absolutely no fluke, but few people would have thought that Finland could keep it exciting for so long. So next year the Eurosong Contest will go to Sweden again. That's a very nice location there. Yet there have been only a few participants from the Eurovision Song Contest who have really grown into absolute stars. Just like now, there are also people who already have a music career who participate. I actually think people shouldn't be doing that.

Next day after Eurovision CHA CHA CHA still sounds in my head. Similar like POE POE POE POE POE, but I'm surprised that Austria finished so low and both people and judges didn't liked them.

I'm curious about which betting platforms were accepting bets for the Eurovision song contest?
I think that most of platforms had Eurovision, after all it's big thing in Europe.

Finland almost won after being so behind after judges voted. For some reason I don't like judges voting they tend to vote for more known names.
Wouldn't say that they almost won, difference between Sweden and Finlandwas not few points, but almost 60.

Don't want to make conspiracy theories, but voting of judges always been contraversial part of Eurovision. Especially when you see such huge difference between people and judges voting. Why they can't leave decide it for people, why some expets is needed who pretend to understand music better? Have nothing against Loreen, but Kaarija won my heart too and voting without judges would be less contraversial.

This year has been pretty fair I think. Of course everyone gave it to Ukraine last year because of the war, but objectively that country could never have won if you look at the content of the song. It was a nice gesture from society last year. There was some hope that the festival would be held in the winning country (Ukraine) this year, but unfortunately that did not happen. Sweden has actually completely confused the favorites from the start, I even saw a quote of 1.40 somewhere, that is really very little and indicates how good the Swedish really was.

Yes, I agree. The Eurovision Song Contest has a long history of controversy, with accusations of vote rigging, political bias, and other scandals. The fact that Sweden will be hosting Eurovision next year, coupled with Abba's 50th anniversary, may have influenced the judges' decision. I'm not really a fan of conspiracy theories, but I think the public vote should hold more weight in the final decision of the winner, as it represents the people's choice and preferences.

The main favorite of the many. It wouldn't be like that if it can't win this competition. Others has their own favorite but unfortunately, it didn't stand out, maybe for this time only but maybe before they already won or they will be a winner in the future contest that they will join. If there are who participated in terms of betting, not all of them are rich enough to bet millions lol but maybe you are just joking on that part.

A win is a win no matter what amount is that, so they are still glad about it. The one who posted this thread is a known gambling site (winz.io) so maybe they are offering bets/odds for it? Even though they did not mention anything about it.
