Title: Asset-Backed NFTs vs. Digital Twin NFTs Post by: amysteryremains on May 13, 2023, 03:48:36 PM Hello fellow Bitcointalk community members! I wanted to spark a serious discussion about the exciting world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Specifically, I would love to hear your thoughts on two prominent use cases: asset-backed NFTs and digital twin NFTs. Asset-backed NFTs have gained significant traction, allowing individuals to own a digital representation of a physical asset. These NFTs can be tied to real-world items such as artwork, real estate, or even rare collectibles. The concept behind asset-backed NFTs revolves around offering verifiable ownership and enabling fractional ownership of high-value assets. On the other hand, digital twin NFTs provide a unique opportunity to create a digital counterpart or representation of a physical object or entity. These NFTs offer the potential for enhanced virtual experiences, including simulations, virtual reality applications, and interactive digital replicas of objects or individuals. Both asset-backed NFTs and digital twin NFTs have their merits and exciting possibilities. But which do you believe holds more promise and offers a better use case for the future? I invite you to share your insights, experiences, and opinions on this matter. Please remember to keep the discussion respectful, constructive, and focused on the topic at hand. Let's leverage the collective knowledge and expertise of our community to explore the potential of these NFT use cases. I'm excited to hear your perspectives! Let's dive into this thought-provoking conversation Title: Re: Asset-Backed NFTs vs. Digital Twin NFTs Post by: NotATether on May 13, 2023, 05:00:39 PM I guess both methods have been tried on alternate blockchains of altcoins, and have failed miserably due to the greed and FOMO factor.
How about storing something actually useful as an asset, which has no physical counterpart? Title: Re: Asset-Backed NFTs vs. Digital Twin NFTs Post by: disconnectme on May 13, 2023, 08:11:28 PM I think both have a role to play in the space and they come with their merit and demerit, but I personally prefer Asset-Backed NFTs because you know genuinely they are backed by something valuable unlike the Digital NFTs whose value is based on the creativity of the creator but their value is not limited because it is not tied to any value and can go as high as there is demand for it unlike the Asset-backed NFTs where it is tied to something currently valuable and their price can only fluctuate around this value. We will continue to see more innovation as the space develops and expands
Title: Re: Asset-Backed NFTs vs. Digital Twin NFTs Post by: malcovi2 on May 13, 2023, 09:55:52 PM I think Asset-Backed NFTs can be potentially be considered as a security by the SEC and some of the major NFT marketplace won't be listing and delisting it.
digital twin NFTs where a physical and digital were already been done in the past, Beeple who sold NFTs for millions of dollar gave holders a physical copy of their NFTs for free. Title: Re: Asset-Backed NFTs vs. Digital Twin NFTs Post by: JeffBrad12 on May 13, 2023, 10:34:01 PM I wonder if these kind of NFT asset are actualy recognized by law, you could say you owned fraction of some high value asset, how exactly you can prove it if the one that proposed just outright deny your ownership?
I always think that there's most certainly loophole in these kind of NFT assets, even the so called revolutionary NFT arts are being duplicated rather easily by some scammers. I just think that these kind of investment just doesn't cut it, it's just not good enough honestly therefore why NFT investment always seems unsustaining. at the end of the day, there should be better use case for NFT in general, like unique identifier of a product, that's a lot more useful. Title: Re: Asset-Backed NFTs vs. Digital Twin NFTs Post by: GreatArkansas on May 14, 2023, 12:42:19 AM In my own opinion, both types of NFTs have their unique use cases and potential benefits. Digital twin NFTs and asset-backed NFTs have the potential to completely alter how we believe in value and ownership.
I don't see any advantage here or like the better one versus the other one because it will be based on your goals, both are NFT and they have both values, you can trade them also. I think what's common now is the Digital twin NFT because that's really the essence of NFT, from the word of "non-fungible". |
