Our children will not be as lucky as we are, we have to help them to know about bitcoins on time so they can have some for themselves. We are lucky because we are of age to know and understand what bitcoin is at this time when the value of bitcoins is still expected to increase not like our children who have no idea and it may be too late for them to make any gain from bitcoin when they finally know about bitcoins if you leave them. A good gift any parent can give to their children for their future is to enlighten their children about bitcoins so they have some knowledge about it at an early age and buy some for the children even before they can begin to get for themselves. Don't force your children to become Bitcoin investors and let them free to choose what they want to do. You can educate them about Bitcoin but give your children freedom to make decisions.

I can not give you financial advice for future, as I myself don't know about future, but if you think about Bitcoin future like this, don't invest in it.

You can do something for your children by yourself. Work, spend less money for your expenses and have more savings which can be used to buy some bitcoins as inheritance for your children.

One can actually do the both, it's not as if you are forcing them to learn or start doing what they don't want to do, it's just as a means of giving them an early knowledge of something which you were opportune to know and wouldn't want to them to miss the chance of having such knowledge. This is a good move OP. You see, bitcoin is still at the early stage of which I believe you know that. The price currently is still worth investing. Going by your statement, I feel the best way to do that is to start accumulating bitcoin bit by bit for your kids now why you teach them gradually how the system works. As they grow, their knowledge about bitcoin is getting vast and experience would teach them many things about it. While all these are going on, the little bitcoin you have bought for them keeps appreciating because for sure it would grow bigger than it is now by then they would have something to fall to or maybe an inheritance left for them to inherit.

Bitcoin investment is not for children and teaching your children about Bitcoin you are not doing any good to them. Please allow the children to learn their children things, they already got some mathematical assignments bothering them. When they are of age, they can learn Bitcoin or even any other better technology that will be invoked then.

If you don't want your children to lose out of Bitcoin investment, then buy for them and store in a wallet, safety keep for them. First things should be done first. There is no Assurance that by the time my kids comes to this world they will have the opportunity that I have right now that is why I am accumulating more Bitcoin every now and then but you can never tell maybe just maybe something better than bitcoin will come maybe bitcoin will stop being the first on the list in future, nobody knows, so I believe that more opportunity are still coming.

OP’s idea of teaching his kids about bitcoin isn’t bad but I would just say the education should be based on financial education and not only bitcoin. The children should know how to save, safeguard their funds and how well to spend each them. I believe knowledge like this will definitely lead some towards bitcoin not necessarily till you tell them about it.

Also a parent could just open up a wallet and save some bitcoins in future for the children but all investments shouldn’t be in bitcoin only, there other store of values that it could be diversified to.

More so I don’t think our children will miss out like that on bitcoin, because if we look at the halving period, although 98% of bitcoin will be mined around 2030, it will take the year 2140 before mining of it is stopped which way to long for our children not to Benefit from it, but as they say the early bird catches the morning worms.

We learned about Bitcoin the hard way. Yes it will take much less time to educate our kids about Bitcoin. Since no one helped us learn about Bitcoin, we took the hard work of learning Bitcoin on our own. Then I was able to study here with great difficulty. However, I would not let my child learn about Bitcoin at such a young age. If my child is fit, I will teach him about Bitcoin. Because at this educational age, if Bitcoin is educated in education, his attention to education will decrease. He cannot be a human being. I've preferred not to teach them about Bitcoin during their kid's time instead, help them enjoy their time and focus on school. I think even with the continued evolution of bitcoin, the rising prices, our children will still be the luckiest of all. Not because our generation are the once to have created and taken good opportunity with bitcoin of course that would count too but, its mostly because, they too would have innovations in there time that would create opportunities such as we've got today.

We all know crypto have bright future but we shouldn't force our childrens to do things that they didn't like. Maybe let them discover what they want to so in life since following their passion could make them happy and more productive in life.

If they want bitcoin for sure  they find ways to know more about it but for now since they are growing up let them discover what path they want to take in life since experience always give important lessons for them to grow. If you really want to teach this bitcoin to your children well theirs nothing wrong about it, but try to feel them if they are really interested since if not maybe this is not a perfect time to do it and they might forget all things what you said to them.

It is a fantastic concept for our kids to learn about bitcoin at a young age, but we shouldn't push anyone who isn't interested in doing so to do so.Just be aware that there are other ways for our kids to succeed in life without bitcoin; the best advise I can provide is to give them a solid education and let them choose their own path.All can say is that parents should give kids a solid educational foundation because from this good education foundation  is what can make them think wisely and pick the right direction for their selves.

Nobody has any real idea of where the price of bitcoin will end up in the future, so we can't say that future generations won't benefit from it. When the price of Bitcoin was still around $1000, I don't think many people knew that it would eventually reach $60,000. If they did, they probably should have spent more money at that time.But all I can say is that exposing your kids to term technology early age will benefit them much in the future.

In some countries where the development of technology is vast and information is not restricted to many, children can still learn whatever they want to learn and become better. We who are even into Bitcoin can still give our children an advantage in the sense that when we are very old and have some Bitcoin accumulated, we are surely going to will those coins to them (our kids).

I think the other way around.  Our children are much more lucky than us because we are working our ass out to give them a better future and if we do it right can give them a life without any financial worries.  Aside from that, they are lucky enough to have a parent that know cryptocurrency and can pass the knowledge to them.  This means our kids will be well guided about cryptocurrency and they don't have to do trial and error because we had already done that for them.  About the best gift, I do not think it is about enlightening them about Bitcoin but giving them a convenient lives where they don't have to experience financial crisis in their young age.

What gave you that impression? Are you by chance thinking that the will be late to the party or what? That by the time they come of age and begin to buy Bitcoin that it will have spiralled out of reach? Anyway, I don't think so. Even if Bitcoin price becomes that high, I believe anyone who's buying several years from now will still make their profit.

This is a typical African (Nigerian) mindset – acquiring wealth for their children unborn – as if doing that even guarantees and safeguards their children's future in anyway. And they should not be stressed thinking about what they can do in the future but rather help them enjoy being a kid. Because there is a right time of doing that and parents must understand that as well. Your acting like a stage mother/father which dictates their children on what you want to do. Think first if you children like it since maybe he will get a bad impression and dislike since they might think they force them to like what you introduce to them. That is a very common thing for everyone who already has children in their life and I think that it is also not necessary to remind everyone in any discussion even though it is for the good, but it leads to something very personal because it relates to each person's family. We're in the digital age, knowledge have expanded in so many ways, by introducing Bitcoin to our kids at a very early age is the right move to make and we shouldn't just say they're not ready yet. No need to teach children about Bitcoin at early age when they don't have a source of income, even we as adult without a good source of it is challenging to start investing in Bitcoin.  Introducing Bitcoin to kids won't be of any use to them at their age, the essence of Bitcoin if for financial stability and these gets to do with people who have a source of income and not for people without income or one who depend on bitcoin to make money. If parents want to invest bitcoin in the name of their kids, then when they are grown up they handover to their kids it's fine, but introducing bitcoin at early age is not really necessary for the kids, their are better things kids needs to know and understand rather than bitcoin.

Your advice  is great but I once stared a thread about not stressing kids with bitcoin and I've also understood that people have absolutely  different approach and mentality towards every situation but on the other hand, I think most bitcoin  holders are seeing bitcoin  and cryptocurrency  as an escape route for their children which isn't bad but the truth is that,  we should just focus on giving our children the best life and when their time comes, they'll  fit in to what their destiny holds for them and I'm saying this because our parents never knew, or even thought most bitcoin holders who are doing very well for themselves would do so through bitcoin and maybe, our parents already groomed us for something else.

There is nothing bad to teach any child who is interested in learning about Bitcoin and its technology, but I will not suggest forcing children to learn Bitcoin by force. You said we are lucky to have learned about the existence of Bitcoin at a young age, but I don't think that is the case for most of us. If I should even say what gives most people the opportunity to know about Bitcoin early is that they are in a life of advancement of technology because of all this social media and the advantage of getting opportunities to expose themselves to technology, and even children that want to learn can get the information early through the internet. I am not disputing your suggestion to teach about Bitcoin, but as for little children, their education foundation should come first.

I mean it is a good thing to teach your children Bitcoin because it is just a waste if you're not going to at least try to teach this kind of investment in their lifetime. I agree with the OP that buying a few satoshis (or whatever coin) in order to hodl for your children is a good idea (always money you can afford to lose). Who knows when they have 5, 10 years, they may be worth a little fortune to cover his expenses and/or give him for custody when he get's to a certain age.
