please i would like to know, something regarding the forum even as have been here for a long time, i came across a warning ⚠  sign on a topic i was about to comment when i navigated to page 9 at the TRADING DISCUSSION .

Does it mean we cant go back in time to comment on any topic, just need few explanation

You can comment, if your comment is necessary. It is just a warning that the thread is no more active. You know how the world changes, some threads needs to be left alone and to create another one to have more valid discussion. But if you know what you are doing is good and necessary, you can bring back old thread to live.

There's nothing to worry about that post since its just a reminder just like what @act said that thread is long time inactive. If you think your post is helpful or can change some perspective between some post or the thread itself then post it. But if your post is just nonsense and just want to post because you want to increase your post count then maybe think about more better than that since it doesn't give any good contribution if your intention is to post random matters.

It would be better to create a new topic because the thread is not active anymore, or better read the old posts and maybe someone already answered your question. However, if you still insist on posting there and it's already been posted by someone else, then moderators will likely remove it.

Topics that have already had a lot of comments and have stayed not replied to over a very long of time is very likely because almost all the possible aspects and perspectives to that discussion has been given and other users who have not commented but come across the discussion before and haven't commented probably read through and discovered that someone has already shared their view. If you are patient enough and you can take some time to read all the replies and responses from the first page to the last, there is a very high chance that you would see what you want to write, that is someone else has already written it and given the response.

You can reply in old topics if your post brings some good insights or informative discussions.

The warning is because too old topics, inactive topics likely are no longer good for discussions but it is not same for all cases. The message is clear, you have to decide that what you want to write is really needed for an inactive topic. If you see it is good, you can write and post it, nothing against you.

You can comment on it if it's really necessary for that same topic. Necro bumping is what you are gonna commit if you will continue to post with that warning since the topic is already abandoned by the OP.



You can always create a new thread specifically for discussion on that specific old thread as continuation of that topic. Bumping an old thread that already irrelevant to current time is useless and spam.

Its all good, because i was kind of worried, i dont want a situation i get suspended or get some messages from the forum that have already seen the warning ⚠ sign and i still went ahead to make a comment. but i want to know something here if this same topic gets to be created wont it be tag as a COPIED THREAD,  i dont know if you understand the angle am driving at.

Yes, in that case your topic would be a copied version of the original thread but if you ask different perspective of the same topic then that would be unique to you and you will get replies from the reputed members of the forum. I still recommend you to change something in the thread name if you want to discuss about the topic in further detail. But, if all dimensions of the topic are already cleared out in the previous thread then it doesn't make sense to repeat the same thread again and again.

One thing remains straight and vivid there.
The fact that, its been a long time (although the time frame isn't specific) someone did make any post on the thread.
This means, the thread could have been discussed to exhaustion and there was nothing more to be added to it.

Still, your not prohibited to e further posts in te thread but rather, your warned to be sure your not just about beating a dead house. It's the few ways the forum uses to ensure users aren't spamming the forum by putting something put that they aren't really interested in.

Nope if you reference (with links) old threads that you write about then add your own points. Most members don't do this unless they really want different response results along with thread specific settings to filter out some unexpected replies.

By the way, doesn't this question belong to the Meta?

I would advise you to lock this thread. You have had enough explanation to what you asked. It is just a notice to you incase you may want to reopen a fresh thread. Posting on old and inactive thread means you want to reawaken the thread, it will be appreciated if your post will be instructive to the thread otherwise you can create a new thread.
