is it worth attending blockchain events?

Seminars or events like that are create place to interact and gain knowledge about things, and also meet great developers. Concerning blockchain technology it is very verse and there are actually many things on it aside cryptocurrency. So to your question i would say attend events on blockchain if the aspect or the theme of the seminar is not frowned upon by your country government. If for an example bitcoin or cryptocurrency at large is banned in your country, attending an event on it exposes your privacy and you could be possibly be violating a law on that.

So it depends on the kind of blockchain event you’re attending and also your country’s law guiding that.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,
In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain events?
Yes.

Blockchain technology is very good, as the world is now entirely migrating to it due to its transparency; therefore, attending such events is beneficial because you will learn a lot from different developers.
Moreover, if you want to learn more about Bitcoin, blockchain technology will make it easier for you to understand the concept.

Attending such function is not necessary but it is some worth important. Seminars creates avenue to get acquainted with more projects and like-minded people around the world. There you can meet investors and good project teams if you have any project too, you could have the opportunity to showcase yourself to the Crypto world to see who is looking for it.
Concerning a country's ban on Crypto and the possibility of Crypto enthusiast holding a seminar there is very risky. There you could be exposing yourself to risk because sometimes the government can send in agents to go monitoring the events activities and possibly making a prosecution on those who organized the event and likewise the attendees too which is not safe.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,
In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain events?

I’m no expert but it is worth it if you have the passion on learning it especially if the event is free entry for all participants. I attended one of blockchainevent  here in our country hosted by a popular exchange. I learned a lot but since I’m not a developer or involved on computer programming, I don't appreciate much the technical knowledge aside from key knowledge involved on blockchain.

It will be helpful if you can provid the link to the event so that we can review the scope of topics and wha’t the background of the speaker involved. This is crucial to determine the worth of that event.

It’s worth it only if you care about the speakers or what they’re gonna talk about. Or, if you want to make connections and learn more about the subjects the speakers will present.

It’s very important to make sure you choose an event of interest. There’s no point going to a blockchain event if they’re gonna talk about coins you don’t care about. It’s just as pointless to go there if you’re a Bitcoiner and only altcoin founders will talk, unless you’re interested in learning more about other projects.

Overall, I think there’s some information you’ll learn regardless of the event that will open your mind more and teach you new things. But again, it’s not as easy as a yes/no answer.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,
In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain events?

It's a great place to meet like minded people and to get some great insights about the technology.
Not only you get to learn a lot of things but you get to be a part of the community in real world.
Unfortunately, I haven't got a chance yet to attend such events but when I get one I will make sure not to miss it.
So you should grab the opportunity while you have it and do share your experience with us.

No knowledge is a waste, blockchain technology experience is needed if you're into bitcoin in other for you to understand more better on how the whole process works, knowing that blockchain is the sole background technology that every bitcoin transactions and storage takes place, as a complete discussion, bitcoin is never fully understood without the blockchain technology and this will help you understand more better about bitcoin itself and widens your scope.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,

For connections, exposure, and socializing? Yes for sure. Blockchain events also give way for a lot of promising projects out there to flourish and be showcased before it gets into the public. Plus if you're into attending hackathons (which good thing right now is already dedicating whole sections of the event for cryptocurrency-related projects) you'd see a lot of promising project prototypes that would give you great insight as to what the future of cryptocurrency is leaning towards. All in all it's a genuinely positive experience even if you're someone who's not really into attending such events as it still caters to the people by offering all forms of entertainment that is legally allowed, plus most of them offer trinkets and awesome loot just for attending!

So yeah it's something that a cryptocurrency enthusiast should look into joining in the near future.

Why not if it makes it easier for you to understand blockchain, because with a seminar with this event at least you know and can socialize with other people who attend the event.

Then where is the confusion if it's not feasible?
Now I see a lot of this seminar and many are enthusiastic for those who participate it means they still need some further knowledge than searching the internet themselves.

But to be honest, I've never done a seminar on blockchain events before.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,
In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain events?

In my opinion it is worthy to attend those blockchain events if you can reach to the destination where the event takes place without any travelling issues. I mean if an event is to be conducted in a place and the location of the place where the event is scheduled to take place isn't far away from your home town then attending that event best decision one could make to learn about blockchain in detail.

Those events are conducted to promote awareness about blockchain and its use cases. If you attend those events you will get inspiration from the ones who are conducting those events and at the same time you will learn a lot from them related to Bitcoin and blockchain. The ones who conduct those events are mainly specialists of the blockchain system and they have deep knowledge about blockchain and the technology behind it.

You'll learn a lot about blockchain by attending those events because we learn things far better when they are taught by the experts of the field. If the blockchain events are free then that's the best thing ever to attend but if it has little fee then still it's worthy to attend those events. I would most probably recommend you to avoid the events that has very fees because they are mainly conducted to loot the attendees and may not offer much valuable knowledgeable things because of greediness to create more such events in future to accumulate more money.

I hope I don't sound as an AI, but: it depends.

- Are you looking to build a career around that, and try to get linked in? Then yes, it's worth it.
- Are you fine knowing that you'll attend in a place where the people become targets for $5 wrench attacks? Then go for it.
- Is there anything you believe you can't find out elsewhere, except in such events? Go.

But in my opinion, it isn't worth it. Let alone, most of these "blockchain events" are organized by people who want to promote their shitcoin agenda.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,
In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain events?

Once I attended an event on electronic security, it was not my specific area, but I like everything related to technology, anyway, after that event I ended up developing a business and creating business relations.

In any case, there is always a very well-established schedule topics and speakers for this type of event, so attend what really interests you and what you know about.

Yes, of course! If you have the time and resources to attend such events, why not? As crypto enthusiasts, we enjoy participating in these kinds of gatherings as they enhance our knowledge about cryptocurrency and provide an opportunity to meet successful individuals in the crypto space. Additionally, attending such events can help us learn how to effectively manage our crypto assets and ensure their security. It's definitely worth giving it a try!

If you wanted to know more about cryptocurrency then attending events is a good thing.  Since you cannot ask the internet directly, in even you are able to ask the panel if there is a question and anwer scheduled for that event.  Another good thing is that the topic at hand is explained deeply and listeners are able to grasp the information behind it and at the same time can ask questions about the effect and importance of the said topic in the economy or industry.

It may be worth it for some people, but it isn't worth it for me. I'm not the kind of person who looks forward to meeting people, even if we share the same beliefs. If the blockchain event is about the BTC blockchain, i believe we all can support and learn about the network without discussing physically.

People who don't have a problem with it can go, but i think the disadvantages and risks outweigh the benefits. The best thing that can happen if you go is that you meet up with people, or if they have special guest speakers that you admire, you get to see them, but the worst thing that can happen is you will probably compromise your privacy and you can be a target of a $5 wrench attack, so you can now decide for yourself.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,
In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain events?
It depends on the type of event and your level of education, particularly if you haven't learned the basics yet and the event is very technical it won't help at all indeed maybe it could be counterproductive and it will confuse you.  Personally, I have started local meetings in various cities of Italy between Bitcoiners to meet and talk but above all they serve to clarify some by discussing between us.

It depends on your interests. There are different types of cryptocurrency-related events. Some of them would be interesting for you, while some wouldn't... Cryptoindustry is a vast field with many branches. Most branches have their own events (hardware, software, cryptography, trading etc).

Those event's are important if you want to get involved in new technologies involving the blockchain, there you can learn a lot of topics like NFT, Staking, Smart Contracts, Security, and all the relevant topics for the blockchain.

And the most important is how those events are used to introduce new technologies involving blockchaing. So, I don't say we need to be in every blockchain even, but at least we can see the conference topics and if we find something interesting then it is worth being part of it.

I believe that education is the basis in every industry, and in such a difficult, new and fast-growing industry as the blockchain industry, such events can be a great place to both expand your knowledge. If someone seriously intends to tie their professional future with the world of blockchain or cryptocurrencies, such an event can be, above all, a great source to gain valuable contacts that will help in building a career. Of course, the quality of such an event depends on many factors - who is the organizer, people/companies taking part, speakers, etc., but we are able to gain new experiences from each event.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,

I have never been to any significant blockchain event but as I understand it, those kinds of events are mainly for networking between developers and project leaders. For the layman it might be a good opportunity to meet the right kind of people, who will teach you a deeper insight into current Blockchain developments and trends.

However it would be wise to first learn about the basics of Blockchain.

Otherwise there is not much point in a newcomer going to such an event.

But everyone is welcome to go.

Blockchain events? Op please tell us more. But if you are talking about cryptocurrency seminars then I will yes. It is good to attend blockchain/cryptocurrency seminars because there will learn new things and add it to the ones you have known. And anything that confused. You in the seminar can be presented here for more elaboration. So even though your are a newbie but having the interest to attend then you are free. Blockchain knowledge is gotten from different places. And that is why there is formal and informal education to learn things from different people.

I see this as a choice for you to decide whether you will like to attend Blockchain events.
There can be some knowledge you cmare going to gain from attending this event and it could be an eye opener for you to see beyond you  and get some certain understanding about Blockchain and how you can utilize it in you own way to improve and use the idea to make money for yourself. There is no knowledge that is a waste so we need to always take information serious especially those ones that could be use to us in the future. Go and learn and add more knowledge to what you have already gotten.

I got more exposed to Bitcoin and stomped into action after I attended the seminar in 2019, which I can say was an eye-opener for me. In my country, I don't miss any seminar or event that concerns investment, technology, cryptocurrency, or health. In such events, you could just grasp one new idea because they say that learning never ends. Even the first time I heard the name "Satoshi Nakamoto" was at an event at which a question was thrown to the audience. Definitely, especially if you are really interested in this technology. It is where you may found future projects, people with the same interest, opportunities and all which are about this industry. As to other people, indeed there are ways to learn such as browing the internet and seeking for reliable sites but seeing and encountering it in person would aleast give you ease from doing so. Also, projects in these events are still in progress which would give you insight and advantage obviously if you will find it a good project. Also with meeting people who are into this blockchain, you may learn from them especially those who have been in this industry for years.

If this is your first time, go for it. You'll realize the significance of the event once you experience it firsthand.

Everyone will know whether what they're doing is important or not only after they've done it. Seeking advice on this forum can serve as a reference to validate your decision. However, bear in mind that each person has a unique perspective, which can further confuse you when making a decision.

Come for the first time, and you'll be able to judge for yourself. If attending the event in person isn't feasible, you can acquire tickets for the online session, usually conducted through Zoom meetings.

It’s your choice, no one will force you to attend events like that but if you think the event really worth going, then you can attend it. But to be honest with you It’s really good when you attend events like that, it gives room to learn new things, you can’t know everything on your own,  it’s better you go out and meet new people so that you can learn from them, you can even meet people and you guys will share ideas, you might be thinking you know almost everything but don’t be surprised when you attend events like this then you will know their are lots of things you still have to know about.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,

It depends on what your aim is. If you want to gain knowledge or learn more about blockchain or any projects being discussed in a certain event, you should obviously do it because such seminars and events can teach you a lot of things and you can learn a lot about blockchain technology, new projects, investment opportunities, you can also meet new people and share knowledge and might make some friends as well.

So I think there is nothing wrong with attending such events if you have got an invite or a pass to go and spend some time there. If I talk about myself, I would obviously never lose the chance of attending an event where blockchain and cryptocurrencies are going to be discussed, new projects might be announced, etc.

Regrettably, I beg to differ. Just because a blockchain event is in the neighborhood doesnt assure it will be an information powerhouse, right? Certainly, these symposiums foster blockchain cognizance, but some are just a façade, arent they? Reflect on it. Are these so-called gurus genuinely unfolding the complex details of blockchain and Bitcoin? Ive been to gatherings where "specialists" were just glorified pitchmen. Now, about gratis events. You laud them, but remember, if its free, you're the merchandise. Their end goal, though? And yet, you mistrust high-cost events as being predatory. Sounds paradoxical, doesnt it?

Hence, whats the ideal route? Should we filter blockchain events by vicinity and ticket price? I suggest we show more scrutiny

No need for me to add to what people already recommend but why not try something virtual first to get a real sense of what goes on, and whether these sessions are useful for you (or if you're even relevant to them?). Plenty of free conferences to attend, and if you sign up to CoinDesk or similar subscriptions, they like throwing around free tickets.

Personally, meetups and seminars are more targeted (if you don't want to wade through networking). Try this one for free in September, pretty "big": https://blockchain-expo.com/europe/

No need to be an expert to answer this but if you're for gaining more knowledge and connections then it's a good option to join and participate blockchain events. You will meet new people and faces and even better people than you, we have to admit that even if we're the best that we think of then there will be people that will be better than us. Through these events, we'll get stronger connections and networking with people through it is a best way. But to mind you, not all of these events are for free. As a scholar and a young vibrant youth you are encouraged to attend blockchain event to gain a vast knowledge concerning blockchain tech which I think is an added advantage to increase your knowledge and understanding, since I believe no knowledge is waste. We only live by gaining vast knowledge and anyone who has stopped leaning doesn't want to increase in their knowledge, so most times I do attend some invitation to just listing to what they would give out because I know I can't have all the knowledge it takes to know about cryptocurrency and blockchain at large.

If it is really a seminar to exchange and discuss blockchain knowledge and you have a lot of time, it should not be missed. Knowledge is endless and having a lot of knowledge is never superfluous or useless. But if it's just an event in disguise, I mean, they use it to showcase shitcoin projects, then you shouldn't be wasting your time. You need to know the exact content of events before spending time on them.

Simple answer is yes, if you have the means, maybe you live in an area where such events are being organized, or you are a Billionaire and can easily afford to travel out of your country for other countries where such an event are being held, it's worth it to be honest, as you not just get to meet new people of like minds, you learn new things, as well as make new connections as well, several blockchain projects became really successfully only after the founder made connections with industry experts and people of affluence through blockchain meetups and seminars and all.

So for me, it's worth if, like I said, you have the means to attend without financially straining yourself or business.

Does it really matter which country one comes from? All that should matter is the idea you get, whether it's educational to you or not. I am from Venus; it really got hotter, so I immigrated to Marsb >:( ;).

One piece of advice for you, OP: if you are quoting a reply, it should not just be a reply where you are saying "thank you." It looks like spam to me. I don't know what others think, but I still remember what @lovesmayfamilis would say:

Quote
If a member gives you an advice that you find useful, rather than dropping a two-word reply of "thank you," just take note of the idea or advice and move on, or better yet, you can merit the post.

The reason for my advice is because of your comment bellow.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,
In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain events?
Is it worth it to attend events hosted in the medical sector if you're in that sector? It's the same thing with your question. Of course, yes. I think seminars and trainings offered in different sectors are deemed necessary and those who work in those sectors shouldn't hesitate to attend them. Again, attending such events will provide attendees an ambience to interact with one another. Development takes place when people interact with others. All that will be necessary if one is interested in building a career around such. For instance, I find it exciting attending seminars hosted within my reach which are related to what I do. I believe it should be same for others.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,
In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain events?

It depends of what is the purpose of visiting such an event. For education? Probably not worth it. You can watch videos (including some from blockhain meetups from your region) online. Marketing and exposure? Perhaps you could participate then. Nice opportunity of meeting industry insiders and other interesting people. So it's up to you.

Let me tell you something, not every knowledge is available on the internet. And you can not teach yourself everything. Sometimes you need human touch or taught by others in order to learn them in easy or the best way. And what is benefitting you, you will never share the real secret of it to others. There will always be a mystery behind it, which will always be a secret.
In crypto seminars, there are lots of people in which you will find many experts. They possess some weapon in the arsenal that no one knows about. If you are lucky, you might get a glance at their secret. Because it is way easy to ask someone face to face and collect data from them. If you approach them with a curious mind and intention, they might not be able to stop from sharing their secrets. And when you meet new people, your knowledge is meant to grow. Not decrease in that process. So if you can afford to go to something like that, don't miss that opportunity. You may end up with a lifetime lesson that will become the key to your success. The worst way to ruin a perfect plan/strategy is to tell it to someone who is unsuccessful.
So when you met successful people there, if you share your plans, they might give you some suggestion which will help you to execute that perfectly thus making you successful in life. Well, that's just my thoughts.

Your stance on independent study versus tutored teaching is captivating. The "mystery behind knowledge" underscores the human component in learning, especially within nuanced realms like cryptocurrency. However, I part ways on one notion - the internet, in its enormity, is an underestimated knowledge trove.

As for crypto seminars, you're right. These are wellsprings of market insights and tactics, tapping into the expert pool. Still, the idea that these pros have secret arsenals may be an exaggeration. Most are sharp market analysts, employing well-tested strategies with individual instinct.

Your proposition about seeking counsel from successful individuals is persuasive. Indeed, such exchanges yield valuable feedback and fresh vantage points. Yet, it's crucial not to take advice at face value - what succeeds for one might not for another. Your judgement remains the ultimate acid test.

I have done it a few times, I have to tell you unless you have a specific point in your mind then there is no reason to attend to. I had that before, I had something that I was reselling, a product that I was promoting, which meant that when I went there with a business card and walked around that was lovely, this was back in 2017 if I am not wrong which means that the market was on the up and people made money as well.

So, I both built a network and had something to use that network for as well. But, if you are just going around to see what's going on, then there is no point in there. Think about it, if you knew a million people in the crypto world but had no benefit from it, then why would you want to spend time to get to know them? You better have a reason to build a network.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,
In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain events?

Attending block chain events can be beneficial in many ways, such as acquiring knowledge about an emerging technology, interactions with professionals of industry, and gaining awareness about investment opportunities. However, decision to participate in these events depends on personnel interest and alignment with your business objectives. I always welcome such opportunities and encourage all crypto enthusiasts to seize them without hesitation.

I think it is actually worth joining those conferences and events if you are very much interested in blockchain and crypto currencies. Attending those events can actually help you move forward with your blockchain 'interest". Events like those usually invites lots of new and also well known project developers. This would be your best chance to learn about what currently is going on with projects, new/future development, and what to expect from them. In the process I am sure you will be learning something new from the experts and leaders, which can deepen your understanding on blockchain. Plus, you get the opportunity to network with like-minded people and might end up creating something yourself! If you aren't busy or have anything important to do, then why not attend it?

In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain bitcoin events?

(Fixed that for you.)

Blockchain events are usually just for hypes and tokens, presales and launches that eventually fizzle out, it's not really something you can count on as making a long-term (positive) impact in the industry.

Bitcoin events on the other hand, now that's the real deal. Nothing like increasing Bitcoin awareness and adoption, and upgrading the Bitcoin technology with new protocols and programs.

I'm not really sure if it's worth or not because not all people who're organizing event is to adopt and help people to invest in Bitcoin. Most of people who're organizing event just to promote their projects e.g. centralized exchange, trading bot, wallet, casino that related about money making.

So if you can learn by yourself, it's better to learn Bitcoin by watching few videos and books rather than hoping someone teach you on the event.

Blockchain event is very important for those who want to get any new point of view about blockchain. If you ask, is it worth it or not? The answer is really worth it if you look at the blockchain experts who took part in the blockchain seminar or event, so that we will get new knowledge or perspectives like I said.

We can do many things with Bitcoin and investment in Bitcoin is one of them. We can organize many things to help Bitcoin adoption and not only about Bitcoin investment.

They are doing right things. Building products, bringing more use cases for Bitcoin and they have freedom to promote their projects, businesses and products. If they are building good businesses (not Ponzi, not scam), good products which solve good problems and demand in society, it is good and we should support them.

I don't understand which blockchain conference you are talking about. If it were me, I would attend blockchain seminars, this is a gathering place for experienced investors, it will help you in this turbulent market.

I've  read some great replies  and opinions  from people and truly I've come to raise that no matter how correct we might be, there is always a genuine defense against your opinion  and that's one thing the forum has made me realize.
Well from my personal opinion, I think it is good to attend these seminars especially  if it is legalized in your country but if its not,  then I wouldn't advice  you to go to such gatherings as there is always no form of safety guaranty just incase the government or security agencies catch up on you guys.
In a country  like mine, I wouldn't dare to attend  these seminars and I wouldn't also advice anyone to attend but rather make use of the knowledge  we get from the internet.

NB I've already written your response  and just had to upload it because I couldn't stop imagining how much the forum has thought me.

There are so many things that can be learnt from that kind of seminar because it can be eye opening for those people that will attend it.
Asking this kind of question can be very funny because we all know that it pays to learn new thing especially going for events and seminar that can bebeye opening. If I were op, I will not even come here to ask question whether to attend or not. I will go and see what the event is all about and come here to give opinion or share knowledge to the forum. We learn by asking question when we have already taken a move about the little we know.

Blockchain Events are not only for investors, most of blockchain events are for people who have an interest on blockchain technology.  Since the blockchain event is where topics like, problems the blockchain technology is facing, the solutions to the problem,  the current and fresh development of blockchain tech, and the possible future of the technology.  There are even cases of debates between pro and anti blockchain.  So I think it is a good thing to attend a blockchain event as long as the blockchain event is not hosted by a Ponzi scam company.

Hello everyone, I have a new question,
In your opinion, is it worth attending blockchain events?
Attending an event depends on your career path or interest in that field. How useful the event will be depends on your intention for attending. If you want to start a career in the blockchain sector, then it is worth attending. Attending blockchain seminars might be also beneficial to people from different fields so it might not be a waste because your career can be integrated into the blockchain system.

But it is also important to consider the content of the event and how proficient the organizers are. Most of these events are just organized solely for profit-making without any genuine intention of imparting knowledge. I have also witnessed these seminars where the organizers will introduce an investment scheme or a worthless altcoin for participants to join or buy. But if you are sure of the organizer it will be good to attend. You have to also consider the cost of the event, if you can afford it or not. There are diverse quality videos and materials you could have access to that can give you standard lectures on the blockchain.

Depends on what you want to take out of it. There will be some people who are  connected to the crypto world (and believe me, some who won't, just there for fun and invited). If you really think that you can get something out of it, then I would guess that you are going to benefit of course, depends on your human interaction skills too. Thats not a simple thing really, a lot of people end up failing that part and I think its quite important to just have that, if you can do it then you are going to be great at it. I personally usually do not end up with anything like that, because I end up getting bored with people so I can't really talk with them much, so I turn that into a benefit and just cut to the point, and move to next person instead.

Depends on your goals. If you want to meet new people with the same interest and share your experience/knowledge, then yes.

But I don't think that if you are good at blockchain, you will learn something new. I've been to various crypto meetups and I can't say that they were helpful to me, because I already know everything I need.

I think it depends on whom you go and see.  If you're going to see speakers like Nick Szabo, Adam Back, Greg Maxwell and andreas antonopoulos, then absolutely it is.  If it's a convention full of turds like Roger Ver and Craig Wright, then no, I wouldn't waste my time.

Besides the speakers and what you can learn at these events, there is something to be gained in potential friendships made.  A lot of my buddies from this forum have met up at conventions and have an absolute blast.  So there's this too!

Blockchain conventions are good chances for learn new blockchain evolution, knowledge and make friends, build your partnership if you have a business or are working as a Business development or Partnership lead of projects.

I agree with all your points and want to write one more point. When people are joining a blockchain event, convention, conference, they must bring a device (laptop, mobile devices) that does not have your cryptocurrency wallet. I have a friend who lost his laptop at an ending day of a Blockchain Conference and it's an uncomfortable experience.

You can bring your device for working but make sure your coins, wallets are at home, not on that device.
