We love playing with numbers. To honor Bitcoin, the blockchain from which we take the accounting model, we have marked the number 21. To ensure a very high distribution and ecosystem centralization, the amount of preminated coins linked to Team and Founders, Business Development, Research, Education and Bounty will not be used for staking. Given also the objective of avoiding any type of initial centralization of the Revo blockchain, only a small part of the Business Development allocation can be used by the Development Team to keep the blockchain active in the early stages (See avoiding nothing at stake error). It means that it is completely independent from what the primary blockchain is: it only exploits its primary characteristics. Revo exists also in its enterprise version dedicated to big Companies: is a blockchain working on PoA protocol (Proof Of Authority), designed and optimized down to the smallest detail to guarantee over 10,000,000 transactions per second for intesive use case scenarios. This does not mean that the SideChains will be a closed environment, far from it. The entire source code of the Smart Contract will be made open source to allow any existing blockchain to self-notarize on Revo, using a native environment with minimal transaction and data saving costs. The current Bitcoin block generation time is 10 minutes; i.e., every ten minutes, a new block is mined. In ten minutes (600 seconds), Bitcoin can average around 2,759.12 transactions based on previous assumptions. In other words, the Bitcoin blockchain can currently guarantee only 4.6 transactions per second Revo implements a fully dynamic and scalable block size, thanks to the decentralized onchain governance protocol. Thanks to a very precise consensus mechanism, the blockchain itself is able to correctly size the block size from a few bytes up to a few tens of megabytes. By default, the maximum size per block is 2,000,000 bytes, with an average transaction weight of around 320 bytes, along with block spacing of just 30 seconds, Revo can include up to 6250 transactions in a single block, which, compared to Bitcoin leads to a share increase of 1360%, with a theoretical TPS of over 210 validations per second. Should the need arise to scale in terms of TPS, the community can freely and independently propose and vote on raising the maximum limit for block sizes through the OGP protocol. Given the importance of keeping revo as decentralized as possible, the only physical limitation in terms of scalability is the only network latency between network nodes. Also providing additional network resilence and security. Fair price could be around 1$ per coin (if you do a medium calc between price for a node and expecting airdrop), but price so far it's not something we're really interested in, main objective for REVO now is to increase network decentralization and adoption for smart contract usage. What I meant to say is that we don't care about current pricing just because the main goal is smart contract adoption, about price, none know what would happen in the future :) Also remember that any price makes 0 sense if the chain is not in use. This is my revo node! It can be placed anywhere you want, and it is not noisy. The blockchain is already synchronized, now it's a matter of leaving it on and seeing how it performs. If I had 5000 revo, I would need to switch to approximately one stake per day with doubled values. The trading volumes are still low, so there isn't much liquidity yet. I am pretty sure that other nodes, like the one that was on the north of spain, have gone offline for the same reason. To make it even worse, they market the node as having "two times the necessary UTXO to stake", but what they dont tell you is that there is a cost associated to splitting the UTXO, and that if you decide to split it without any income, you will end up with 100 tokens on one side and 99 tokens (which are insufficient to stake) on the other, making the situation worse than if you had not splitted it.
Update1: After a few days more than two weeks, I got one block. This means that you will probably find 1.8 blocks per month, if you are lucky. So, the Micronode does work, it just comes with a very very small amount of RVO to be very effective. I confirm the initial impressions: the node continues to stake approximately once every two days, and the monthly forecast remains around 15 stakes per month. This value is achieved with the node holding about 2500 revo ( 15 stake * 21 RVO = 315 RVO , +12,5% ) Of course, the number of stakes varies based on the quantity of revo held on the node; if it were 5000, the forecast would be one stake per day, and if it were 200 (like the micronode), it would be one stake every 20/25 days. I don't understand the note from Bi0H4z4rD_; it's not the node's performance that's limiting, but rather the number of revo. ( 1 stake per month with 200 RVO is about +10/11% similar to a node with 2500 RVO) If you increase the number of RVO you resolve the problem. Is better to have UTXOs of 100 revo, but even UTXOs with a lower amount can do it, and there are some examples on the explorer ( https://mainnet.revo.network/tx/5ee63d7e4d03e60f401bb70ed1c8c6203a75cdf7f36060db078326f91e2c4c77 ) . Another option is not to split the first 200 revo and wait for the node's stake to split them naturally; in this situation, there are no fees. Next update around August 15th. That address is slowly decreasing is own UTXO staking weight week by week, the more nodes get added to the network, the less Revo would need RStaker staking power. If you have time to follow the explorer block by block, we actually tend to disable staking on it from time to time, testing network reliability to keep up consensus blocktime (30 sec/block), with RStaker disabled Revo blockchain drops in speed up to x10. Since there are still few staking nodes on the net, and companies that are relying on Revo blockchain technology for critical operations, the main staker, for now, is a must. There are a few things moving, it seems, and it gives me the impression of being somewhat underestimated, but there are many crypto projects in the same situation, I believe. I dusted off an old Raspberry Pi I had in the closet, downloaded the software from the Revo Network website, and set up the node. If you have some experience with Bitcoin Core, it's all very similar, since Revo shares Bitcoin's UTXO ledger structure. If not, I understand they sell pre-configured devices on their website, which might cost a bit more but I imagine work in the same way. I bought some Revo that were for sale on Xeggex and started staking. Everything is very smooth, very calm. I decided to write because I saw they recently released their web3 wallet, which was something missing from the project, on GitHub, so I think we'll soon see some web projects too...
