Title: How to know an account has been blacklisted or put on ignored.
Post by: Cryptomultiplier on July 11, 2023, 06:36:41 AM
Hi everyone, I have been on the forum for quite some time now, despite the fact that I have shown growth, because I believe I have grown in knowledge of BTC/cryptocurrencies, trading strategies, saving strategy, gambling strategy and the likes, it still beats my imagination that my post or comments fail to attract merit rewards.

I would like to believe I have made a consistent and persistent contribution to have gotten to the full member position, but I want to know why it is difficult to gain merits as it is looks like am stuck or on ignored or blacklisted.

Can someone please help me know how I determine if my account is on ignored list, or blacklist?

How do I proceed with such a delimma?

No, you're not blacklisted or ignored, that's not how it works. Maybe some users have chosen to click "Ignore" but you'll never know unless they tell you directly.

There could be many reasons why your posts fail to attract merit rewards. Manybe you are posting in such Boards where merit sources rarely visit or you may not create attention properly in the forum. Also having about cryptocurrency, trading strategy and gambling startegy isn't all you need to have, you should have deep knowledge in most of the sectors and have a good presentation, helping nature and communication skills among the forum members. You can visit here to learn about inspirational stories how they grew up and achieved in a effective way. There is no way to know who marked you in ignore list or blacklist until he share with you or publicly. As far I know some shit posters, spammers oftenly get ignored but not by all.

You're very unlikely to get ignored unless you straight off spam — even I don't ignore spammers, I just scroll right past them.

It's 99% likelier that it's your post quality in general. (to be clear I didn't take a look at your post history,)

I find it disappointing to hear a full member whine about the qualities of his posts. I just looked at your profile and found that the majority of your postings are not merit-worthy. instead, it's important to consider how readers will interpret your message and its potential value to them. Although some of your contributions are discussion posts that don't really contribute much to the forum, I don't want to criticise your efforts. You should be aware that you attained full member status because other users thought your contributions were deserving. If you believe that you aren't receiving any more merits, you may want to consider improving your postings or, better yet, you can report any unmerited posts to the merit sources.

Not everyone on the forum ignored you so don’t worry about people who ignored or blacklisted you,  just keep working hard and improve your posts quality and the merits will surely locate you. Let the people who blacklist you be the ones missing out on your posts.

Neither this forum nor anyone else can guarantee that you will get merit by every posting. If your post is eligible for merit then your post will definitely get merit. The topics you post on are usually topics. where a huge amount of posts are completed in a short period of time from different accounts. So an quality post from there does not come easily to the notice of any merit sender.
You can post on critical topics where critical problems are solved and a lot of merit is distributed like Meta, Bitcoin Technical Support,  Scam Accusations, Reputation, Beginners & Help,
If your aim is to earn merit then try these boards here you will understand how talented you are

Some managers have lists of violators or spammers that they blacklist. In the same way, actmyname has a blacklist; it adds neutral tags to accounts that, in its opinion, do not write high-quality posts.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4440941.0
If you do not see such a tag and can participate in subscription companies, then you should not worry. As for ignoring, here you can’t influence people’s opinions in any way. Someone may like your posts, and someone, for some reason, could add you to ignore.
But since you see that many people come into communication with you, again, there is nothing to worry about.

The reason you don't get merit isn't because users are put your account in their ignore lists, but there are many factors that cause it.

You can say you've improved, but the other can say you're not yet improved or even your post quality is declining. I'm not sure what's your intention, most of your posts didn't get deleted by moderators (https://bpip.org/Profile?id=3428733) and you're able to participating in signature campaign which mean the campaign manager have evaluated your quality post before he accept you.

If you think merit source didn't aware with your post, then report it here [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5093271.0)

Just like other members said, you can’t just outrightly be able to know that you are on ignore list except they publish it here or they tell it to you.

The lack of merit doesn’t mean you are on ignore, there are members who you might have caught their attention and they feel your post are lacking quality so they just go past it. Also the lack of merit is most influenced by the kind of post and boards you engage on, and currently I have looked into your history and I would say it is that reason why you are not getting them. Most of your posts are on boards that some merit sources considers spamming and area, and none of them are actually sharing knowledge or problem solving, rather i saw lots of posts based on reporting news and this isn’t seeing as a quality post. Quality posts are when you help some one or the community out of a problem and not necessarily creating threads.

If you feel to much concerned that your post are merit worthy then you can ask certain prominent members like Sceptical Chymist, for review, or better still there are threads you can post on as suggested by Jawhead99, three members have such thread (LoyceV, Ratimov, Filippone) and this could be Abel to solve your problem

Don't see it as a dilemma; even if you find out that you're being ignored. See it as you not posting enough in boards where those who are generous with merits post in. Again, know that merit giving is as much as subjective as one feels tagging posts as spam. It's all in the judgment of the person doing the appraisal. I don't think it's about your post quality because I don't see you as a shitposter. I guess it's about time you reviewed where you post and see how things change.

No matter how much you think that you are making quality posts, others have different points of view.  You shouldn't put yourself in a dilemma thinking you are being ignored or blacklisted, instead think of a way to get through to the readers and make them give you merit.  After all, merit is subjective.  Don't get tired of thinking of ways of contributing to the forum.  Merit will come your way as long as readers see your post worth meriting.  You can check top merited posts and get an idea from them.

Only people who have ignored you or blacklisted you know who has been ignored based on what looks that user has posted. There is no specific formula to find out who has ignored you, this feature is more about the privacy of each user. Your assumption is too far about the conditions you are experiencing, it is difficult to get merit does not mean that other users have ignored you. There are many considerations from contributors when spending sMerit, isn't a post's value very subjective.

You feel you have contributed consistently, that's good in my opinion, keep up what you've been doing so far. Remember, when you judge that you have contributed to a forum with quality posts, it is not certain that other users have the same thoughts as you. Awaken your optimism by thinking positive things, don't ever expect merit to come from the post you make, let it be another user's judgment whether it deserves merit or not.

Certainly, the quality of posts and putting someone on the ignore list are related. If you spam or write useless bullshit, there is a high probability that you will end up on the ignore list of many users. So, don't spam and you will not be ignored, merit will come as a consequence.

I think that the ignore option is mostly used by older members, probably because they are tired of reading nonsense. Also, they have the most merit to give.

As hilariousandco will say, if anyone ignored you, they will not hesitate to let you know when given the opportunity. I do not think that anyone ignored you if you don't spam and if you don't send unsolicited Pms.

Saying about being stocked or not able to recieve merits. It is normal because I am also stocked. You will get stocked if you are just a good poster. You need to be an excellent poster to be attracting merits on a daily basis.
If you sit back, merits may never find you. Try to look for the merits by applying in the threads that offer to give merits. This is fast way to get merits and now, you made this post, you can be luck, merit source might give you a review.

It's unfortunate how majority of us here prioritize getting merit more than offering help and solutions to issues raised without expecting anything in return. It's normal to get disappointed when you hope high on something but it comes to you when you don't expect it. You're on full member rank which is a prove that you're growing as you confirmed. I wonder why you are still complaining about getting merit.

Do not be your own judge. Let others assess your post to determine how quality they are and I am sure that it will be merited if they're worthy to because no one can eat sMERIT. For you to attain your current rank obviously shows that your contribution and determination is yielding already and should keep on trying harder. This sort of complain should actually be coming from newbies and not someone like tbh.

I do hope managers will soon focus on post quality rather than the rank some days when launching campaigns. With that, I think the issue of merit this and that will come to an end.

It depends on your post quality, does it drop after you rank up to Full member?
It depends on how you gained merit before? From merit source give away threads or you rank up organically?
Sometimes, when one topic goes viral, you will get many merit. Did you have such viral topic in the past?

You can not know if another forum member ignored you or blacklisted you. You only can know if another member blocked you and ignored your personal messages. You know it when you send PMs to that member, you will a notification in your inbox.

It's either they tell you that you are in his ignored list or not. There's no telling who ignore you and also you are not blacklisted. Each forum member have their own criteria on how they reward their smerit and maybe you are posting in mega threads that's why no one send you merits even though you said that your posts are good enough for merits. Anyway, this have been discussed not long ago and you can find it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5435883.0. Better post in boards that doesn't have many mega threads.

How do I proceed with such a delimma?

The only time you can know if you've been ignored by a user if if they let you know, I have seen a few members post their ignore list and it's only in such situation that you can get to know if you've been ignored or not.

As for the merits, you have been a le to earn more than a hundred merits, so it's best you sit down take a good look at your post history go back to those post that gave you most of your merit and compare them to your current post. Ask yourself, if someone else should make a similar post that I just made and I have some smerit will I send it to this type of post? And besides most of the post you think are quality may just be a shit post to some while the ones you think are mildly quality will be more appreciated than the rest...

Another thing Op, correct me if I am wrong, I bet you main aim was for you to get to a full member rank and when you finally did you got too relaxed and didn't feel the need for merits anymore and now you're no longer satisfied with your current rank and want to move to a higher rank but can't figure out how to go about earning merits since all you have tried isn't working. (Just an assumption though).

1. Won't buy Bitcoin through the dark web.

2. Buy Bitcoin from exchanges, since we can't instantly tell who stole his Bitcoin to sell to other

3. Don't steal from people, some are smarter and they can monitor your address for years, you will one day be caught, everyone always leave footprint on the web most times, there must be one time you passed KYC before, that could be what will give your identity away.

4. Don't bother trying to know if an address is blacklisted, people who do things wrongfully online or illegal in their lives are left to be worried about such type of question, ask yourself, are you a criminal? An bad hacker? Or a scammer? If you are not one of these do not worry.

It is quite understandable why you sound this way. Perhaps when you have made up to a thousand post and still remain at the merit count you have, you may have same question.
Merit isn't my priority, as my profile must have evidently shown you, it is just a random thought that I felt needed a light on, due to my recent observation on how merit awarding has been reduced.

Others have made me understand better and not anyone made me think I was complaining except you.

why it is difficult to gain merits as it is looks like am stuck or on ignored or blacklisted.

You're not receiving Merits isn't because you're being ignored by users because obviously not all the merits sources or members of the forum will have to ignore you at the same time, you're not receiving merits because your posting pattern, quality and contents aren't attractive enough for anyone to find them worth the standard for receiving merits, if i were you, am going to work on myself, i will not assumed I've known anything yet in other to help me work on other areas of me that i needed to improve on.

Can someone please help me know how I determine if my account is on ignored list, or blacklist?

Do you really need to know if your account is on a blacklist or ignored? As long as you're not a scammer or a shitposter there's no need to worry yourself, also if you should know who blacklisted you what will you do? beg the personor or dislike the person? Being on someone's ignore list is nothing harm to you or your reputation, you can also try to ignore any user you feels like, this has nothing to do with merits, improve your quality post and your chances of getting merits increases as well.

Dear op, I understand your frustration, and I think you're being ignored by the forum members. There are other questions you need to ask yourself like the board or section you do post frequently. For instance, you can't be posting on the gambling discussion or altcoin discussion board and expect to attract merits. I've not looked at your post history but maybe you have to improve on your post quality or maybe not. But if you still feel your posts are good enough and they deserve some merit then you can submit it to be reviewed by a merit source.

I will start off with this quote that goes thus - If you do things the same way you've always done them, you'll get the same outcomes you've always gotten. In order to change your outcomes, you've got to do things differently. While I understand how you feel I will try to make some suggestions to you. Personally, I feel it is not a matter of whether your account is on ignored list(I doubt the whole community will gang up to put you in their community list) or blacklist(Unless you are a spammer, you shouldn't worry about this). Try out this new things

- Look at how higher members on the forum make their posts and try to copy it. What I have found is that post quality is not about length of words but the quality.

- Expand your post to other boards other the ones you post mostly on.

- Participate actively in forum contest and other events. Be a part of the conversation or discussion.

For Christ's sake did you read the same thread as all of us? I don't think so because this topic doesn't have a thing to do with Bitcoin, addresses or all the other things you've just posted about, it is more of a "how can i earn more merits thread".
To the OP: you cannot know the users that have you on their ignore list (if any), but if i were you i'd not worry about that. Post on things that you know about, and read widely on the forum to learn about the things that you don't know; sooner or later you'd earn some merits. OR you can post in merit giveaway threads if you feel you are not getting the recognition that you deserve.

Not all posts or replies that you submit in this forum may be provided by other users. Even if you think the post you made is very high quality and very good. Because all members in this forum must have different views and thoughts. So maybe what you think is your post is very good and of good quality, but maybe when viewed from the point of view of other members it is still considered an mediocre post. And maybe the post you made has been discussed before, so the value of the post is reduced. So I think that's one of the reasons, your posts or replies often don't get merit.

The contribution you give to this forum is definitely very good and maximal.
Because now you have succeeded in reaching full member rank and I have also felt that the journey to full member is not an easy journey. It takes seriousness and high hard work to reach that rank. But when it comes to the ignore list, if you don't know, you can't see or check who put you on other users' ignore list.
And for the question of the black list, if you get a black list or a red stamp, you can see it on your profile. But I have seen, you don't have red or black stamp on your profile.

Gaining merit has nothing to do with whether or not you are ignored. It's possible that you won't get merit again for reasons you're unaware of. You may believe your post is of high quality and deserves to be rewarded, but those who are willing to reward you believe it is unworthy. This is a broad group, and everyone's viewpoint counts in whatever they decide to do and whoever they merit. Simply go through your earlier postings before you became a full member and compare them to now; if there is a difference, you should know you're missing something and need to rectify it to get back on track.

You appear to be quite disturbed and eager to advance in rank as soon as possible, which is admirable. Determining whether or not an account is on the ignored list is impossible and unknown to anyone on the forum. I believe this is something personalized to the person who kept you on ignore.

Hard to get merit does not mean you have been on ignored or blacklisted, maybe the quality of your writing does not meet the requirements to get merit. IMO
don't ever think other people have ignored or blacklisted you, as long as you don't make mistakes that make other people angry or offended by the words you arrange in writing, no one ignores you.

Can someone please help me know how I determine if my account is on ignored list, or blacklist?
No, specifically for this kind of question no one can help you to find out who has ignored or blacklisted you. Throw away this mindset, the more you assume negative things about other users, the more likely you are to be included in the ignored or blacklisted list by generous people in the forum.

Sometimes, it is difficult to receive merit consistently, irrespective of the kind of contribution you are given to the forum.

And again, it also depends on the sections and boards you engage in, because there are some boards that most merit sources ignore, and as a result, if you keep posting in such boards, you will likely not get merited.

But I am very sure that if you provide a solution to a problem in the forum or make a very good contribution to the entire forum, you will be rewarded for such acts.

Nevertheless, just because you haven't been merited doesn't mean you are not important in the forum; all you have to do is improve your posting quality, which I am very sure will bring an end to this.

As others have said already, you cannot know who will ignore or blacklist you, but that shouldn't border you; instead, you should build yourself and provide quality contributions to the forum so that people who ignore you will miss out on your quality posts and contributions.

I could be wrong. When I try to read between the lines it seems you're trying too hard to rank up quickly. Is this some sort of your plan? It's sometimes when you try something too hard, you fail or approach it on a wrong path. Relax a bit, stay true to yourself and don't push it too hard. Your weekly average overall is something around 17 posts, that is not small.

I've read a few recent posts from you, but I'm not going to judge them as I don't feel fit to do so. You seem to be no native English speaker, nor am I. While your English isn't bad, you still make some errors that I personally find more distracting than others, some really basic things. I'm not sure if this is something that prevents you from receiving more merit. Maybe, you could try to improve on that. Don't want to look like a grammar nazi, but who knows how other users perceive your language skills.

Some areas you post in might not be great places to receive merit as some here have pointed out, too.

How about yourself? Do you hoard merit points or do you send out merit, too? In last 120day you sent out just 6 merit points to three different users.
I have a feeling that other users also recognise users from whom they receive merits. At least I do.

I would like to believe I have made a consistent and persistent contribution to have gotten to the full member position, but I want to know why it is difficult to gain merits as it is looks like am stuck or on ignored or blacklisted.

Mate I believe being on the forum since December 31st 2021 according to your profile till this moment you ought to have been in the hero rank by now but regardless of your rank, I believe you have gotten some knowledge and information which is one of the most important thing that most people are looking forward to. But since you are not growing in rank do to lack of required merits, will suggest you submit your application to different threads that have been created by some reputable members of the forum where posts with good quality but without merits are reported for merits, you can also work more on your local board I believe they will merit your post if they find it worthy of meriting.

For the issues of ignore or blacklist, I don't think anyone have done that to you unless they find you spamming the forum or posting unrelated threads where you ought not to post them.

It’s really difficult to gain merit if you are posting on board which merit source don’t visit more often such as gambling board and altcoin. Use the service of merit source like filippone and thescepticalchymist to let them see your post and give merit on it because there's a bunch of post here in the forum that usually flooded your post to get merit.

Can someone please help me know how I determine if my account is on ignored list, or blacklist?

How do I proceed with such a delimma?

There's no way to determine this since ignore function is not tracked in the forum and it's just a personal preference to hide someone post unlike trust system or merit that is connected to everyone.

How do I proceed with such a delimma?

Improve more your post quality.

There is currently no way for you to be able to determine if you have been ignored or not. There's no such feature like that here. "Blacklist" is a different matter, it is a list of users that have been blacklisted by someone as a reference to for them to not be allowed to any activities/campaign they will be doing in the future.
It's not very easy to get merited, but if you'll put quite a bit more of your effort on writing, you'll have a higher chance of receiving one. Produce quality contents.

I could be wrong. When I try to read between the lines it seems you're trying too hard to rank up quickly. Is this some sort of your plan?

If there's one thing I have been, it is being true to myself. Am not really the type that indulge in what I don't love. I have had interest in BTC from the onset, but only got to learn the difference between crypto currency and BTC here. I have also had extensive knowledge on broader subjects and still yearning, learning and growing.

I have read many insightful comments including yours and I really appreciate the candid words. I actually welcome any criticism and scrutiny, as it is not only an avenue for me to grow, but to others who want to grow.
Cryptocurrency is here to stay. BTC is here to stay. This forum I believe too, is here to stay and the learning never ends.

OP, I offer you a fun prank to test which users can ignore you. Start mentioning people you're interested in your posts. Almost everyone on the forum uses a Telegram bot notifier. If you don't get a response from the user you're interested in, feel free to make a list of those who might ignore you. I understand that this is hard work, but this way you will surely know those who are not interested in you.
I think you get my joke. :) :)

Seems like you are feeling left behind is it?. Dont take the rank as a race there's a lot of members right there just really prominent and if you think your not one of them just keep the things you are doing we came before with the merit system too but we keep striving to achieve the ranks we want, just show up your self with the contents you are contributing with.

Some of the members have a neutral tag if they are of of low quality members for example with the tag of actmyname in the list you can check it out. [Spammer Blacklist] The Shitlist (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4440941.0)

other than what the members are saying about post quality, where you post can affect the merit you receive, what I mean by this is that there are boards where merits are not given as much compare to other boards, for example, Gambling and Gambling Discussion, despite being one of the most active boards here, merit is not distributed as much compare to other boards that are not as active as the gambling board. just so were are clear, what I said is just my opinion and what I noticed in the forum.

Can someone please help me know how I determine if my account is on ignored list, or blacklist?
as far as I know, there is no way to know if a member has put someone on their ignore list, unless the member who ignored the user publicly announced or told on a post that the user in question is on their ignore list.

OP I will tell you this, your situation is not a new thing neither is it a new experience to someone out there but be rest assured that you are not on any black list and with respect to ignored list, there is nothing as such that there is a general ignore list but rather on individual basis. One can choose to ignore someone for  reasons best known to them but the person being ignored will never know about it.

I am very sure about the shitposter and spammers list on this platform. You can use the search botton to locate it here or  I will update this post later on and  put the link to the thread here fo you to see.
