Title: MTGox: Euro deposits
Post by: MagicalTux on April 06, 2011, 05:46:07 AM
Hi,

Just a heads up to let everyone know that euro transfers to mtgox are now free and 100% automated. You send euros via a SEPA transfer, and your funds are credited as soon as received in USD (no exchange fees for the EUR=>USD transfer, we use raw ECB rate). Addition of euro market is currently under progress (release before end of april if things are OK), and when done euro funds will be added to a euro balance, but in the meantime you can add funds to MTGox without fees!

BE CAREFUL, this means that the transfer informations for mtgox have changed. Please visit page "Add Funds" for details!

Various other improvements are planned, including a new design (http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5376.0).

Mark

* The "no exchange fees" part refers to the fact we assume we'll also get withdraws from the euro account that will - more or less - match the received amounts - and also to the fact we want to promote bitcoins!

Yeah, noticed it already! Great job! Going certainly to make use of it.

[edit]
Just to confirm, EURO withdrawal has still a 2% fee, right?

Hi,

The withdrawal fee hasn't changed, however withdraws are now automated too.

What is the procedure exactly ?  Should we still warn you first via email before making the wire ?  Should we wait for confirmation between the email and the wire ?

Hi,

You do not need to do anything. Just make sure your SEPA transfer includes the right comment ("MTGOX xxxx"). If you make a mistake here, your transfer may be credited to someone else.

Once we receive the transfer, an email is automatically sent. We check for new transfers every 3 hours.

After switching trading to EUR, will you allow withdrawal of the currently USD denominated balance to European banks?

Yep, we will. We might however apply change fees after a while (the idea will be to promote the EUR market to EUR users)

This is pretty cool.   Thanks for this service.

This is seriously cool.  This means I can convert my income into bitcoins almost automatically.

That's a great addition for the bitcoin economy.
