Title: EXPECTIONS FROM LITECOIN HALVING
Post by: adultcrypto on August 01, 2023, 06:58:09 PM
There are few days left until the next LTC halving. I understand that a new huge milestone in any of the major crypto generally causes a positive response in the entire market; an example being the recent court judgement in favor of XRP that saw market responding positively. So, do we expect some positive response from the LTC halving? If yes, to what extent can this impact on the general market condition?

Most people think that there's going to be a good impact out of it. But while the halving of it approaches, there's no significant movement on it for the past few days.

If yes, to what extent can this impact on the general market condition?
Lesser supply that's it.

Just as the counter part of it should be more demand. We don't know yet if this is going to cause more demand for it. But much likely it won't.

So, the halving took place, the price of Litecoin is fixed at $89.2 Contrary to our expectations, Litecoin did not allow its investors to get a good profit, as it was in the past halving. Those who expected LTC to increase in price by 3-5 times will continue to hold it until the next bull run.

IMO from the halving news

Only bitcoin halving are more effective on these event, people are wondering the price will be react at the time halving but most the time the price react after the halving maybe more than 6 month after the halving.

These is happening always like that on (bitcoin).

I wasn't expecting much with Litcoin halving. The project is basically nearing it's end. I'm even shocked that it was able to stay in the top 100 for this long when the LTC founder gave up on the project years ago. I think everyone just hoped that since Bitcoin has the halving event as a major cue for the Bitcoin price to grow. Somehow people wanted the same for LTC.

Binance Fud earlier today made it more difficult for LTC halving to have an effect on the price.

There's going to be some change, just that it differs from what you expect. It wouldn't make big waves compared to the XRP SEC case (that's a different thing altogether really) or like BTC's halving since they're on quite a different scale. In the first place, if you look at the past halving LTC had, there wasn't really much in terms of price movement. It went up a bit, but that's about it. It even went down a few months afterward really. And iirc, it pumped up during the start of pandemic, aka when new investors were coming in, hence you can't really say the halving would be able to do anything to pump it.

At most, a few percent increase in a few days or maybe about a week. Then we'd see regular levels after that.

Light coin halving did come with loads of expectations from investors who thought that the halving will give birth to a price rise of to 4x or so,  but for the fact that the cryptocurrency market bull run is a chain and it is tied to the bitcoin market make it evident that yes even if litecoin halving came earlier then bitcoin halving,  it won't make any significant impact yet.

Until Bitcoin and other markets also pick up the bull market tenacity that is when you have a general bull market,  so those holding litecoin have to hold for a the and wait for the market to pick.

Expect the unexpected because not all the time halving event would really be meaning out that there would be some pumps because there are moments on which it doesnt really give out any impact at all when it

comes to price and this is why you should anticipate whether it would be making out some pumps or not. So better not to make yourself that too optimistic because it could neither happen or not.
Therefore, on the time that you would be making out some buy positions then it would really be something risky to take but knowing the reputation and popularity of LTC which is one of the most oldest coins in the market but still kicking on present times then cant really be denied that demand and recognition is still there. It  would really be vary if these things would spiked out on the time that halving would happen.
Unlike on Bitcoin though which everyone is really that been focused or really interested into.

In overall, when bull run kicks in then LTC and most coins in the market would really be having that pumping period or moment but of course it would really be just that selective.
Some would fly out and some would really be left behind and this is why it would really be that recommendable that you should be wise on taking up some investment decisions.

I bought LTC with the expectation to rise a month ago and now I'm in loss. Watching the charts, what I realized is whales bought off LTC up from $40 to $90 and than the news about LTC halving got its pace. I know it's a publicly available info but not everyone just keep looking for what is going to halve in the next 6 months. People also say that it takes 6 months after halving for the price rise to be visible and I'm too keeping my LTC and hoping for the best.

What should we expect from the halving? Nothing. All I see is hype all across the crypto/Blockchain space. Prices will rise albeit for a short period of time. For Litecoin to become a valuable cryptocurrency, it's going to need to do a lot more than just cut its reward in half. It needs innovation. Something that would attract the masses and keep them from moving away to competing blockchain networks.

Between BTC and LTC, the only difference is the supply, the PoW algorithm, block time, and the Mimblewimble privacy protocol. Perhaps, adding smart contracts functionality to LTC would make it rise all the way towards the top 5 ranks in market cap. After all, investors are deeply interested in all things "De-Fi" (NFTs, smart contracts, tokens, etc.). No one can predict the future, so lets hope for the best. Just my opinion :)

Just mentioned this in another thread but litecoin halving does literally nothing in terms of momentum building for any market.  It's price movement is directly in line with what the overall market is doing.  The only coin to drive markets is and always was bitcoin.  Once bitcoin moves one way or another everything else follows.  It's not hard to see the cycles.

LTC halving is not like Bitcoin halving, where there is usually a lot of buy pressure in the market. I don't think many crypto enthusiasts really know it's Litecoin's halving without being told or unless they are LTC investors. The reason is that there's usually not much of a spike in the price compared to the way it is with Bitcoin. So, even with the halving news, I don't think investors should really be overconfident that they can make a huge profit.

There's not too much fuss about this halving, but there may be good developments on this old alt.
What I like about this old coin is that you can basically find this in any trading platform and with cheap tx fees.
But we haven't heard much about the progress on what's new with this project, hence, not so much talk about this.

The market is still on a sideways trend so we might not see any bit impact of this halving.
Though many are already holding LTC for the purpose of halving but I think just like the previous halving, there will be no significant effect during the halving but expect to see a big change after that especially if we are going to enter bull market.

This is not a Bitcoin halving anyway so expect less in the short term but if you’re a long term hodler, then this halving can be a big update for you. I also have LTC in preparation for the next bull run, actually many investors are looking forward to the bull market and not just on the halving, better to think for long term effect of this one and expect nothing for this year.

Litecoin definitely has some good side to it. But the project don't have much development going for it. According to the official Litecoin repository 1. the last update to core functionalities of the network were made years ago. Litecoin was a big deal back in it's early years but majority of the people that pushed it's narrative like Lee who was the founder sold off their bags. Right now, it's just "there". I had expected the price to make some positive moves but turns out, no one is feeling litecoin right now or maybe all preparations are geared for Bitcoin's halving event instead.

this is true, i wouldn't expect so much from litecoin halving, since i think even with the halving news litecoin will sometime just stuck, not gonna go up its just entirely different thing if compared with bitcoin halving, the thing with bitcoin halving is that it greatly motivates buying pressure as you said because the coin itself quite literally influences other coin market movements thats why its such a big deal.
i wouldn't say the same thing in regard of litecoin because I think the era of this coin has gone quite frankly speaking, better invest in other coins i guess.

Nothing to be expected from litecoin halving. Guess if you have been motivated from bitcoin halving and that's why you saw that if litecoin halving gonna be huge like bitcoin halving while the fact that if this coin will give nothing other than a slightly increase.

Im never expect this coin to perform even better after the halving already done. It will always remain stable at this moment caused by the key was on bitcoin and not litecoin.
It doesn't even matter how many times litecoin will be doing halving and it will never give significant impact to the price of coin. Your expectation is very high for litecoin. My guess if you are litecoin holder.

Never try to put big expectation for your coin. Litecoin halving meant nothing for the crypto market. You shall not be over hyped for litecoin halving.

Nothing expected with Litecoin halving, price drop drastically before halving time raise above $114 and current price right now drop to $83, I don't think with Litecoin bring positive side with halving like Bitcoin can make new all time high price. Not impact yet with Litecoin halving because can give positive side how to make Litecoin raise to higher price or move up above $200. But have rumor, usually Litecoin price impact up drastically after one or two months later from halving time.

Need more patience waiting one month later, will Litecoin have positive impact after halving or still going drop because have been long term holding with Litecoin since price above $200.

In the past, Litecoin price rose a lot with its halvings but it's like Bitcoin halvings and price, we don't know when price will go up because of halving effects.

I expect Litecoin to rise more than $200 with its halving effects and with bigger effects from Bitcoin halving and bull run in 2024 year.

Litecoin is a good altcoin for investment and with its halving, I believe effects on price will be shown later. Invest in Litecoin and wait for halving effects to be reflected on price a few months later is very good choice. Especially if we take into account a possibility that the bear market is going to complete soon in coming months and a new big bull run will start soon.

Now we all witness how the Bitcoin block halving for the entire market, and even though there are some altcoins that behave like Bitcoin, they will not achieve the expected price action just like what Bitcoin is doing on every block halving.
So for me, I am more excited on the Bitcoin block halving because even block halving of Litecoin is already done, you will see price will be also affected once Bitcoin starts to rise.

Yes, and again, even if Litecoin is like the small brother to Bitcoin, we can't really compare the two in terms of price action and support or consensus specially from this community alone.

We have seen that most members here are into Bitcoin, and as much as we want to put Litecoin into the top of altcoin as it is being used as sort of testing for Bitcoin like halving, it won't take ground and support is not going to be big. So maybe with the Litecoin's halving, it will have a good price, however, the real bull run will occur after the Bitcoin halving as it is the catalyst, and Litecoin halving has nothing to do with altcoin market.

As I predicted before, either Litecoin is halving or not, the price will not increase.

Some users said Litecoin price will increase after the next few months or even in the next year, well you're not talk about the effect about Litecoin's halving, but that's time Bitcoin will halving. After all Bitcoin halving will affect most of altcoins price including Litecoin.

I expect it to do well enough, not insanely well, but well enough. I think it will also take some time as well. We are going to see the price reach to about 150 to 200 dollar levels at the start of 2024 year, and by 2025 we are going to probably see it reach to over 500, near 700 levels as well.

Many people think that won2t happen but the reality is that we are going to see it happen one way or another. It is not going to be that easy and we will see it happen for sure. We just need some time for that to happen and it will take a bit of patience to see that. I hope that people can see this fact and they do not end up with anything that is crazy and it will not make them sell, because it is not suppose to go up now, it is going to go up later.

Really, yes, every CEX that I have known and used, listed LTC as a trading pair. In the past, there was an exchange I bought some Altcoins from, and after a few weeks I was just able to get the little profit I expected, so I sold the coin and tried to withdraw in USDT, but the transaction fee was about $5, so I just abandoned it there for some days. It was when I complained to my boss that he asked me to trade the USD to LTC and withdraw in LTC, which I did before I could withdraw my funds in LTC with as low as $0.5 of fee, and the transaction was even fast.

we will see it happen if the ltc dev team will also give us a hint that they are doing something for this old alt. we can't expect traders to be active on this if they know there's nothing happening on this network. its existence in the market will be here but we can't speculate about the extent of its popularity among traders

As you can see that through weekly chart if the hype for the halving already gone. The price of litecoin be be going down even deeper than before the halving happened. It's time for people to leave from this coin and move to the a better coin.
People expected a big pump from litecoin halving but it's not even happening right now.

Litecoin halving will never give impact to the market.

It happened on the 2nd of August.
I just looked at Coingecko if there's any effect on it's price, but it seems like there wasn't any at all, and in fact it continues to decline like what other coins are doing right now.

It seems like in terms of news that's related to halving, only Bitcoin has an effect on it's price. Ohhh wait, Bitcoin's price a few days after the halving have little to no effect as well, and we will only see an increase price a few months after. Is there a chance that it might happen to Litecoin as well? Maybe there will be some investors who will think of the same with Bitcoin thus, they might buy Litecoin a few months after the halving.

I know that the popularity of Litecoin has declined significantly because of the lack of developments on the project, but I think it's still one of the best coins out there, and it has been in the top for a very long time though it's ranking in Coingecko, and Coinmarketcap is going down. Overall, I see Litecoin still as a good project, and still hoping for some developments towards the project, but even though I'm still a bit optimistic about the project, I will not hold any of it for mid to long term. Anyway, price of Litecoin will increase in the bull run like what other coins are doing, so maybe it's a good coin to hold, and sell during the bull run. :D

Well, nothing will happen before Bitcoin halving, like many times before... history repeats itself, or at least most of us believe it will repeat itself once again. I don't expect to see any significant changes in the near future. I guess we need to be patient for now, only after Bitcoin halving we will see some big changes when the crypto market enters a bullish period, and Litecoin will probably follow that uptrend.

Price even slumped immediately after the halving. That's very disappointing to say the least. All the hype round it, mistakenly so, as many analysts drew their conclusion that there would be a spike from what past Bitcoin halving has been able to do for the market and expected that Litecoin would do same. Sadly, LTC fell short of expectations and now investors will have to wait longer than they though to take out any gains.

As I've said before, there's isn't enough momentum to keep LTC's market prices afloat for a long time. The halving hype was short-lived because LTC's lack of development and innovation. It may have added the "Mimblewimble" privacy technique to distinguish itself from Bitcoin, but that's simply not enough to attract serious investors into it. Maybe adding a smart contracts sidechain will help?

At least, not all hope is lost. LTC has a lot of trading pairs, compared to newly-fond cryptocurrencies on the market. Not only that, but the Blockchain network is alive and healthy as ever. That's a sign LTC won't be going anywhere soon. Who knows if it outlives many of the altcoins we know and love today? Just my opinion :)
