Title: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: alastantiger on August 04, 2023, 08:23:26 AM It is good that in addition to the avatar space, the developers of this forum decided to put in a space for personal text. And I absolutely love it. It gives members room to express themselves in a few words the way they like. Some personal texts have been written in English, while some are in Spanish and other languages. Some of the personal texts are born out of deep belief in bitcoin, some pay respect and homage to a person, dead or alive, some are just plain humorous, some personal texts are simply telling users to be cautious. Whatever the case may be, they never fail to catch my attention. In this topic, I will be sharing my favorite personal texts of some users. If yours comes up and you feel the need to explain, please do because I always wonder what the stories are behind those texts. Thank you

This was actually a very funny thread and it's fun to see others and the one you like's the most. Credit to you! :) In my opinion this thread is worth a merit, but unfortunately I am out of sMerits. >:( Me and my friends always used to say this when we where young, but in Swedish. Then you say it like this "Snacka inte snacket om du inte kan gå gången". I think it fits good in this forum because some accounts here are trolling a lot and I doubt they would act the same to other people they do here in real life. (of course this is not targeted to a specific account) https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/08/04/GHqs9.png Title: Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: cryptoaddictchie on August 04, 2023, 08:39:25 AM Regarding personal text. Is a referral code base link can be allowed to put there? Example arkham airdrop link then will hyperlink it to the text. Or does someone doing this? Would this be allowed since posting on threads as far as I know is prohibited and considered as spam messages.
Ive asked this cause Ive joined some referral projects too that are worth noticing and wanted to invite some but since referral isnt allowed might thinking if this method would be okay? Title: Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: Oshosondy on August 04, 2023, 09:06:43 AM My personal text: ...gambling responsibly. Do not be addicted. If it is in full, it is 'I am gambling responsibly. Do not be addicted'.
This might help people that are gambling to know that gambling responsibly is the best way to gamble. If you use 5% of your monthly income to gamble, not going beyond responsible gambling budget and having discipline, you are on the right way. If you can not do that, do not gamble at all. Title: Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: EL MOHA on August 04, 2023, 09:17:23 AM This is a great thread, I would probably also think of a dedicated personal text to make mine unique.

It's funny that you decided to put them all together and publish the list. Sometimes you could see how this text changed for some forum members, so your list will remain a kind of archive, because someone will definitely change the personal text under the avatar.
I was a little surprised to see my nickname, although in the context of the topic it is not at all surprising. If yours comes up and you feel the need to explain, please do because I always wonder what the stories are behind those texts. Thank you My personal text was born out of my view that life is vanity. I have lost some loved ones that were so gifted. And many of them died without using the potential or special gifts thy had to contribute to the good of humanity. Then I came to realize that the best thing that will happen to me is to maximize all my talents or gifts. There is also a quote that says that the richest lands in the world are graveyards because these lands contain great dreams, uncommon potential, innovative ideas, etc, that were never utilized. My greatest desire in life is to die empty. I want to give all I have in terms of skills, finance, and expertise to bless humanity before I die. I have also told my wife that I don't want an expensive burial, everything should be done in moderation when I die. Others have already included their desired words as personal text, which is great.
Where precisely can I place my own personal text, if I so choose? Or do I have to reach a certain rank to be given that chance? Title: Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: Nheer on August 04, 2023, 10:59:12 AM A fascinating thread, OP. As they say, "All work and no play makes jack a dull boy," therefore this is a wonderful thread where we can pass the time and have a little fun before heading back to work. LOL. Though some of these texts are self-explanatory and others require explanation, i have also questioned what they signify and would be interested to learn what they imply in some cases. The one that really struck a chord with me is Kro55's "Stop Nowhere"; every time I see his profile, I feel inspired to keep pushing on despite the challenges.
I also looked to see if The Sceptical Chymist has one on his profile, but sadly he doesn't because the campaign in which he takes part forbids random text and requires participants to use the company’s own text. I am always intrigued by his write ups and am very sure he will have something interesting on his personal text. Title: Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: darkv0rt3x on August 04, 2023, 10:59:59 AM I was mentioned here with some sentence that I don't even remember it, I guess. But I think it was because I didn't know what was that space for.
Anyway, my sentence of election right now is: "I rather die on my feet than living on my knees". This sentence is from a Mexican revolutionary Emiliano Zapata. Title: Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: Yamane_Keto on August 04, 2023, 01:09:40 PM How did you manage to collect all these personal texts? It is difficult to notice them, and I did not know that many people use them to write thoughts expressing themselves instead of renting them. I will try to find a useful quote.
Regarding personal text. Is a referral code base link can be allowed to put there? Example arkham airdrop link then will hyperlink it to the text. Or does someone doing this? Would this be allowed since posting on threads as far as I know is prohibited and considered as spam messages. Referral links are prohibited except in your signature or in the formulation of a useful topic next to a direct link to the site and leave the option to the reader to choose which link to click without spam.Title: Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: Doan9269 on August 04, 2023, 01:25:19 PM It's a pity that I don't even have a personal text customized for myself, maybe due to the last recent campaigns I've participated and used their personal text on my profile, but neverthertheless i can still come up with an idea on something to always put on even when am not on a particular one from signature campaigns, honestly while going through this list above, i was so excited to see many funny and lovely text some members already put on ;D
Title: Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: Razmirraz on August 04, 2023, 02:31:37 PM It took hours to compile a list of private texts from different users into an interesting thread. I like your idea.
Private text space can be used as a medium to express different messages as individuals please, there are various kinds of messages that are presented in private texts for personal gain and there are also messages that are general in nature to remind each other. The private text that adorns the profile Die_empty (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3485266) Give all before death has a very deep meaning, I interpret these words we must be generous while still alive. People will always remember us as someone who cared about others, our departure is a loss for people who have received seeds of kindness from us. In forums it is also necessary to sow good seeds to contribute to the forum with useful Threads, when you leave or leave the forum for various reasons, you will always be remembered as one of the users who have contributed to the forum with various kinds of knowledge and knowledge that you have left behind. Title: Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: Upgrade00 on August 04, 2023, 02:43:42 PM Oh I see. My bad, I think what Im asking, is about the email and the website link browser. But does this have any violation on forum rule in case Ive input it? But the website link will be viewed when someone click on my profile and view the email dialogue box. I'm still not quite sure I get what you're asking. The website option on your profile is clickable and you can insert a link there, just as I did with mine. The email option is by default only visible to you and by default also is the email you used when registering an account. You can changed that if you want to, but I've not tried out the option. And it is perfect. This might help people that are gambling to know that gambling responsibly is the best way to gamble. If you use 5% of your monthly income to gamble, not going beyond responsible gambling budget and having discipline, you are on the right way. I like it. It is a simple and direct message to gamblers. If you can not do that, do not gamble at all. This is a great thread, I would probably also think of a dedicated personal text to make mine unique. Thanks for the input. I have added them to the list... and they make a lot of sense too. Maybe they are worthy of been added to your list Sometimes you could see how this text changed for some forum members, so your list will remain a kind of archive, because someone will definitely change the personal text under the avatar. Yes, I noticed some personal texts of users change...one of the reasons is because the signature campaign they are in have a mandatory personal for member to use. My personal text was born out of my view that life is vanity. I have lost some loved ones that were so gifted. And many of them died without using the potential or special gifts thy had to contribute to the good of humanity. Then I came to realize that the best thing that will happen to me is to maximize all my talents or gifts. We live life once and we should live it well and simply. Naked we came, Naked we'd return carrying nothing along with us. This is very thoughtful. Anyway, my sentence of election right now is: "I rather die on my feet than living on my knees". This sentence is from a Mexican revolutionary Emiliano Zapata. I like this. basically this is what people adopting bitcoin are doing. That's the sentence I'm using in many places, and I'm not using it right now because of the campaign I enrolled in! So, if you change it, I would even appreciate because the one you put there, is not being used any more by me! Title: Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: Darker45 on August 05, 2023, 02:24:55 AM I don't know how my personal text ended up on the list, or catching anybody's attention for that matter, as it's a local word. It's in the vernacular. Even many of my countrymen don't know what it means. Anyway, thanks to Best_Change for not requiring us to wear a personal text. A little space is left for something, well, personal.
It's been there for years already, if I'm not mistaken. It translates to carry on, continue, go ahead, forward, move on. It's a verb, so used as a single-word sentence, it's an imperative. If I remember it right, I put it there when the pandemic was at its most vicious point. I was simply saying, in a single word, that life doesn't stop even in the midst of a pandemic-- or a war or death of a friend or a family or whatever for that matter. It moves on. We carry on. In the beautiful book The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, the most popular line was probably "For you, a thousand times over." However, the phrase that really struck me and stayed with me ever since was the Persian Zendagi migzara. It translates to life goes on. In the context of the book, that line has a very strong message. I once had a calendar with a poem printed on it, On Children by Khalil Gibran. It had a line that goes, "For life goes not backward, nor tarries with yesterday." And then there's the lovely line from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech in 1960: “If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” I can go on, but I don't know why I'm easily struck by such kind of message. But I love to be always reminded that life or the world doesn't pause for a rest. It just continues whatever happens. So, what else can we do? We move along. Padayon! I like to applaud Best_Change and other campaigns that allow free space for hunters to freely express themselves with whatever personal text they choose. I don't know what projects stand to gain by insisting campaign hunters use avatar texts which in themselves aren't clickable. It doesn't add any more value.Quote If I remember it right, I put it there when the pandemic was at its most vicious point. I've learnt a new word, Padayon!. Move on! My only problem there using it will be on how to enunciate it. From its meaning and your explanation for picking it, I can say it rightly deserves a mention on the list.Title: Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members Post by: Knight Hider on August 05, 2023, 05:54:37 PM
