Post by: ASCDO21 on August 08, 2023, 05:24:37 PM
Hi all.
I decided to set myself a goal - to save money for an apartment with the help of cryptocurrency. The cost of the apartment is $130,000.
At the moment there are 6000$ in cryptocurrency
My portfolio consists of BTC,ETH,XRP,SOL,DOT,XLM,ADA

Ready to invest $500 per month.
Advise on the best way to fix profits and what kind of cryptocurrency to buy. Now the markets have fallen - it's time to buy.

Diversifying the assets in your portfolio is a good option in my opinion - but get more bitcoin than altcoin. Basically you can't expect to make a fast profit on an investment - that's because investing takes time that even you have to wait for a few years just to get 2x for the return. You can still make a profit trading - but even then it is risky if you don't have the good skills to do it.

Remember - price volatility can give you profits as well as losses. But if you are able to take advantage of price volatility - it is very possible for you to get profits which then accelerate yourself to achieve what you want. But this is all risky - so do it with care and consideration.

I would keep >90% in Bitcoin. Bitcoin outperforms most altcoins, unless you buy a lucky one.

At the moment, the prices of all crypto currencies have dropped significantly. This is a good time for short term investment and long term investment. There are many good coins in the crypto currency market that have the potential to give a good profit in the future, but as far as I think the coming time may be of AI coins. If you invest some part of your monthly $500 in AI coins, then it can prove to be a better decision for you in the future. Ocean Protocol Ajix and RNDR are good choices. To get profit always try to buy whenever the price of a coin falls and DCA will prove to be the best strategy. Apart from this, your portfolio also contains very good coins, from which you are expected to get a good profit, and you will be able to save a good amount of money to buy your apartment.

considering the value of many bitcoins and altcoins right now are highly undervalued after the collapse of some companies in the past it should be good idea to keep accumulating like that, if good things come and best scenario plays out then you will easily double your investment in the upcoming bullruns or even more.
i'd say invest heavily in bitcoin and ethereum, but some altcoin is also worth investing, its just that I guess for long term its a lot safer investing in coin with big market capitalisation, and only use small capital to invest in some of the altcoins, since its short term, you could kinda make some fast market movement after the altcoin you invested is rising high, truth to be told, you should follow those new coin investment launched by some exchanges that resembles like sui and arkham, just find coins that really have high potential like that and invest small capital, it will give massive return but its not financial advice though, you should always follow your own decision.

Your portfolio is already good and with potential for profit I'm sure you did research on these coins before you included these in your portfolio, you are good to go just don't add trending coins and pump and dump coins that promise quick profit when actually you're going to lose if you are late investing in these trending and pump and dump coins.

If Bitcoin doubles its price you'll have your apartment you just need to be patient and avoid the temptation to buy shitcoins, These shitcoins are deceptive when the bull run is coming.

Thank you, but I want to understand what else I should add to the portfolio. bitcoin will not be able to give x10 for a possible bullish cycle, and altcoin can get x3-50.
I am willing to take risks to get what will improve my life. What coins should I expand my portfolio with? Now the portfolio structure looks like this, yes - yes there is a lot of xrp, but these are coins bought back in 2019

It’s great to have a goal in mind. I would use a stop-loss order to determine profit. As for buying crypto, your portfolio already looks good. I would put more on BTC and ETH as they are the most stable. However, it is important to do your research before investing. Good luck with your goal!

I am very skeptical that in this portfolio there is a chance for a x22!
I have many doubts also in medium term (10 years) if there is only one of these coins capable of making a rise like this...

In general, the "top 10" of altcoins has changed constantly over the years.
What is currently at the highest levels of capitalization will maintain it over time...

You do not diversify your assets here, but rather increase risks and reduce profits. You are looking for a high-risk investment with quick returns. investing in Bitcoin and Ethereum is the perfect solution. You can invest $400 in Bitcoin, and $100 in Ethereum and within a year or a year and a half when Bitcoin rises to 100k, you can buy and sell again when it drops below $70,000 stay way from XRP and SOL.

I do not think that you will achieve $ 130,000 during 1-2 years by only invest $ 500 per month +$6000, but hodling for another 4 years may achieve that.

It looks like your diversification is enough, and now you just have to focus on saving bitcoins because the price is still low. With your altcoins, there is an opportunity to get big profits, but we don't know which altcoins will increase in the next altcoin season. I suggest buying more bitcoins and giving a bigger portion instead of buying altcoins or increasing the amount again. Especially if you can use $ 500 every month because I think that's enough to invest in bitcoin while waiting for the bull run. Or from $ 500 per month, use $ 300-$400 to invest in bitcoin and the remaining $ 100-$200 to invest in altcoins, so you are already running two types of short and medium term investments as well as long term investments. But that's just a suggestion. You should find out more about the altcoin selection.

You should only invest in bitcoin for now. Because that will be better than investing in different coins and will not hold for a long time. But 6000$ investing in bitcoin can be better in all senses. And the other currencies would surely be better to buy in the short term.

I have a similar opinion to you on this. Maybe, if he can afford to hold these coins for two bull cycles, this list could lead him to his goal. Also, if I were him, I would change my list to a short list of more solid coins like BTC, ETH and ADA. XRP, SOL and XLM look like fading stars. I think it is possible to make a lot of money with a solid portfolio without taking any risks, but it takes real patience. I hope everyone stays in solid cryptocurrencies and shows the necessary patience. I wish everyone good luck...

I'll buy more only two, ETH and BTC.
With that, I don't have to be problematic what to choose because they will for sure going to be the starters of the bull run. And if the bull run has been there, I'm totally safe because they'll for sure going to be up. The others could also be part of the bull run but I'll choose what I wanna choose if I have that goal of buying an apartment for the next bull run. Having $500/mo. budget to DCA is a huge amount to consider that you'll start with but it's up to you if you want to diversify a lot of it.

Is it risk-free to buy BTC and ETH?

Is it risk-free to buy BTC and ETH?

It's not a risk-free to buy BTC and ETH. in fact, if doesn't even matter what kind of coin it is but the risk will always there. BTC and ETH are also volatile. The risk to lose your money is always there once bitcoin and ethereum go down to the below price that you have bought it. There's no risk-free investment in the crypto. The major crypto may also make you lose a lot of your money too.

Im feeling skeptical with your method. It seemed to me if you will not able to get an apartment even when bullish market gonna come. You need to take the more risk by picking low marketcap coin.
The less marketcap owned by the token and the more chance to growth as it will generate you more money compared with the coin that has owned very big market capitalization.

This is the key when you are willing to get your apartment in the future.

Is it risk-free to buy BTC and ETH?

After Paypal launched a cryptocurrency based on the Ethereum blockchain, there is a definite demand for this currency in the short term, and its success in attracting projects after converting it to proof of stake will increase people’s trust in investing in it. it is the best alternative if you do not intend to invest in Bitcoin or you are You would expect that there is an asset that will perform well against bitcoin or a better  smart contract cryptocurrency at the moment.
Bitcoin needs more introduction or much talk.

Investing in these two cryptocurrencies guarantees the least losses and a good percentage of profits. It may not be the highest profits, but good profits with reasonable losses compared to other cryptocurrencies.

Paypal launches an Ethereum-based Stablecoin! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5462625.0;topicseen)

None.
I will not advice anything to you anymore.

It seems like you know what's the quickest, and most safest way to earn in cryptocurrency already which is to buy those top coins in terms of market cap, and hold it for quite some time. You are also doing DCA with a huge amount on a monthly basis. You've also said that the markets have fallen, and yes it really is. This year is the accumulation phase where investors are slowly accumulating coins in preparation for the bull run.

Ohhh wait. Best way to fix profits you asked? Same as what you are doing with buying. Do DCA in selling as well. Set targets where you will sell a portion of your holdings if it reaches that price. For me, my target selling price for Bitcoin is I think $75,000, $90,000, $100,000, and I might keep some Bitcoins if it goes higher even more. You still have a long way to go just by looking at your target, and the amount of money you invested already, but just trust the process, and continue DCA. Just focus on top coins as well, and don't forget to sell when you're confident with the profits already. Good luck OP. :)

There's no fixed profit, the only thing you can make fixed profit in cryptocurrency is you buy a stable coin and stake it to earn like 5-20% APY. Since it's a stable coin where the price always stick with $1, you can calculate the profit as long as you're not get scammed.

How long you will invest in cryptocurrency to buy an apartment? right now the cost is $130,000, but in the next year maybe the price will increase to $150,000.

That's an interesting plan, but most likely it will take years unless you will be extremely lucky. Tbh, I would throw out a few altcoins and invest mostly in Bitcoin, but that's just my opinion and I might be wrong.

You can't just assume that you will buy an apartment with that investment profits, it's a matter of swimming in the ocean without actually knowing how to swim. Simply put there is no fixed return on investment and not all of your holdings of coins may give you a profits. There are many coins that are unable to increase in price even after entering a bull market.

100% your capital to Bitcoin and forget about shitcoin if you want to hit your target profit safely. Bitcoin outperforms all altcoin in the market in overall price growth while the Bitcoin halving is already next year which potentially will give a price boost to the price of your investment.

Investing on shitcoin might hurt your investment incase some of them face a major serback due to failed development and lawsuit from SEC. Bitcoin is proven a safe investment on crypto space. Forget about volatile assets like Shitcoin and focus to a solid long term investment for your dream apartment.

Thanks for the comments. In fact, I am familiar with crypto in 2017 when I was a student with no money. At that time I received good bounties for a $8000 Datum coin, but due to greed I did not sell it and it began to cost about $0 =)))
Now I am more confident on my feet financially and ready for the fact that the only simple income is accumulation during the bearish cycle and profit taking during the hype. I understand that there is no fixed income other than the contribution, but I am considering a more investment attractiveness of the project. As for profit taking, there are many different strategies, but I can’t determine which one is more correct. Also, I have no problem waiting for growth, I can wait a year, two, three for a bull run.
I also understand that it is very difficult to get x22 in one cycle, but if I can get at least x10, that would be great!

I guess you don't need financial advises already, you have set your goal and stick to it. And it seems that you have set a good portfolio already, maybe except for XLM, the rest are good crypto's in my opinion.

So the next best thing is to execute it perfectly every month, step aside $500 of yours and so be it. Just make sure though that you have it in a hardware wallet as this is huge money that you are investing so you have to protect your assets.

You plan to reach from $6k to $130k, and 1/5 of your portfolio is Bitcoin and the rest is in top of the top altcoins? And to achieve that in next bear market? I would say that this is impossible. First of all, turning $6k into $130k is very difficult. That is a huge gap. Second, you are full of altcoins, that already grew in price multiple times. To achieve your goal, they must increase in price more than 20 times. For example you have Ripple. Today, its price is 63 cents, and you expect it to cost more than $10 one day? Nearly impossible.

You know what, calculate the amount you would have, if you have current amount of altcoins, but use their ATH prices. How much would it be? Would your portfolio be worth $130k then? I would say that would be the maximum amount you would get if you would be extremely lucky.

Investing in cryptocurrency to buy an apartment during a market slump is admirable. Given your portfolio and $500 monthly investment, consider:

Although good, I would diversify your assets beyond BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL, DOT, XLM, and ADA. Gold is a cryptocurrency worth considering, despite not being digital. Diversification is useful or not. Hard to say.

Next, turbulent markets make profit fixing difficult. Some set stop-loss orders 10% above the current price, others 20% below; the figures can alter. Unreasonable percentages may add to your plan in an unclear way.

Despite contradiction, keep an eye on the market but dont overdo it. Some suggest to buy when the market is down, others when its up. Maybe buy when its time, maybe not.

While patience is vital, dont wait too long.

Setting a goal at first will certainly motivate you to do your best whatever endeavor you want to succeed. And with your plan to invest, I suggest to diversify your investments first and put a bigger allocation for bitcoin and take minimal capital for other crypto coins. Bitcoin is the most profitable asset in crypto so it deserves higher funds than any other investment. However, my question is, is that $500 you decide to invest will be an amount that you can easily afford to lose? If not, try to lower your investment capital and just increase your position when your investment has started to bring profits in you.

The assets you have right now are top coins, and this is a good investment. I'm sure you already have enough experience in cryptocurrencies, so you don't need to get into new altcoins or those that are usually just hype.
Investing in crypto is also a high-risk thing, and from what you've talked about, at least the dictionary already understands the bear market and some of the benefits if you can optimize this bearish era. If you want to invest $ 500 every month, in my opinion, it's not necessarily for a new coin. The diversification of the coins you have is good enough. Maybe you just need to increase the accumulated amount of each coin and add more to BTC. Of course, each choice will have its own pluses and minuses. But at least it won't be as risky as when you invest in hype new coins.

There is no doubt that Bitcoin should be the one that should occupy the biggest part of the portfolio but if you are willing to take a risk to have a larger profit then I would suggest  to invest more on an altcoin that is promising and never had been pumped hard.  The one that has lower price value and at the same time not too huge number of circulating token because in a sense of being all cryptocurrency going bullish those promising projects that have lower market cap or prone to increase more than those established cryptocurrency.

But of course you can always go the safest route and stay on the proven altcoins and Bitcoins.

this is quite ambitious plan you've got there, should also account for the fact that there are possibilities that the capital you've built over the time might just vanish into thin air when there is some massive collapse that might going on, you are already on your right path of diversification, though diversification itself rather controversial i remembered warren buffet quote about diversification is for the clueless, he might holds a point though.
but making it to your target i assume would be difficult ones.
my rough guess is that in the next bullrun most of the coin just gonna increase about 3 times if not 5 times and that only very few of them, the only way you can achieve that is by also saving up some money to increase your initial capital as you've already done it seems.

There's no denying that your objective is commendable and feasible, though it's uncertain when you'll attain the $1.30K target. To be completely frank, you're currently a significant distance away from the established goal, and with an investment of only $500 per month, it will take a considerable amount of time unless your alternative cryptocurrencies excel during the upcoming bullish market phase. I strongly suggest considering an increase to $1000 per month if your financial situation allows for it. However, I also believe that the cost of the apartment will rise over time as you accumulate the full amount for the purchase, so please consider this as well.

Ready to invest $500 per month.
Advise on the best way to fix profits and what kind of cryptocurrency to buy. Now the markets have fallen - it's time to buy.

The new coin hype will only provide a new higher risk compared to the top coins that are already trusted. Having $500 every month is quite a large amount in my opinion, it can be a good investment by choosing a top coin like BTC which will be a must coin with a larger amount. other coin diversification maybe spread on the top altcoins under Bitcoin like Ethereum or use a little fund maybe 1% for new hype coins, Try to catch the knife and maybe get lucky.

it looks like your choice for now is the right thing.  I think maybe you are just waiting for the right moment to make a purchase, for example, just waiting for the price to drop as possible.

     -    Good thing you are planning to do with investing monthly in Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Then my advice to you is that if you want to make sure your majority buy Bitcoin secondary only altcoins. And of course you should also do some research on other crypto mates.

I also think that you will be even richer with such a method to do, I hope that everything you buy will be fine for the long-term. Good luck

You might be able to make some money but it might not be enough to cover the cost of your apartment though.

I would suggest a maximum of bitcoin then ETH and BNB which is enough. The rest of the altcoins, you could go with but not going to make significant upward changes in a short time at all.

Always give your maximum to bitcoin and you will realize that you are profiting more than the same amount in altcoins.

The best way to diversify your portfolio quickly in cryptocurrency is to engage in various staking programs and Ido launchpads, Though you must make very good research before investing in any. It is the fastest way to earn profits in cryptocurrency if done in the right way .

I'd suggest just buying more Bitcoin and don't waste energy looking for gems that are always a needle in a haystack. It's a waste of time, energy, and money. They mostly end up as either a scam or a failure.
Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP. Pick one of them or pick one from your list and just accumulate more of them. If you see that you already made profits from them then why risk it with something new to add in your portfolio?
Old is good, they kept their promise and now we are reaping the rewards or could be reaping more if we wait a bit longer. Good luck on your investment.

Since you have enough money to build a portfolio, you can save and invest that money. If you invest $500 dollars per month then surely you can earn good profit from it. Although the crypto market is currently in a bear market so you can invest in this situation but you will have a chance to profit in the future. If you buy any altcoins which may be risky in future by investing then never take such decision. Rather, you should buy coins that will give you good profit in the future. If you want, you can invest in good coins like BTC ETH BNB. I would recommend you to invest in these coins, because if you invest now, you will definitely get huge profit when there is a bull market.

earning an apartment in a bear market can be an intriguing idea, but it requires careful consideration of your financial situation, risk tolerance, market knowledge, and long-term goals. It's important to consult with financial advisors, real estate professionals, and possibly legal experts before making any significant investment decisions. Additionally, keep in mind that markets can change rapidly, and any investment involves risks.

I would recommend you sell all your altcoin junk and buy bitcoin. Why do you need SOL, DOR, ADA? Do you seriously think these coins can make you a large amount of money? XRP will not grow more than bitcoin in the next 2 years, what's the point of spending on coins that in the long run will bring less profit than bitcoin? You have a clear inefficient use of your funds in your portfolio. My opinion only, I am not imposing anything on anyone.

With a 40% BTC allocation that is good enough to last long term. Remember that 40% is a good foundation for you and 60% you use for potential altcoins like Eth and BNB which are 10% each and the rest is for reserves and some hype altcoins that give you quick profits. Remember that every strategy you apply must be well thought out on how to manage it.

$500 per month is quite good amount of money. I suggest to prioritize investing in top coins first.
You already have some top coins on your portfolio, I think you can add more top altcoins such as MATIC, BNB, HBAR, APT, or ARB. And there are many other altcoins with good fundamentals.

However, I think you still need to always accumulate more BTC and ETH. These coins should be the main assets. I personally invest 50% of my capital in BTC and ETH. I think the safest coins to invest only BTC and ETH, there is no other coin that have the capability as these coins. We simply can check the market caps to know how big the role of BTC and ETH in crypto.

Don't be in a haste to make money in this bear market otherwise, you'd lose more money than you'll make. Right now, not a lot of projects are doing well (price-wise) so it would make more sense to keep it till when the bull market comes as that's the time an $500 investment alone in altcoins can give you upward margins as much as 100k. You can focus your attention right now to learn what worked in the last bull run and strategize according.

Well, I don't want to discourage you but earning $130k from just $6k would require at least one of the coins you've invested in to perform magically well, because you can't get that much in a few years with coins or tokens that do go up but not in such large numbers. Bitcoin is the most trusted cryptocurrency in the market, but even if you invest all your capital into Bitcoin, which you shouldn't, you won't get a return that high even during the bull run because we know it won't hit $1m this soon.

However, I would suggest that you keep adding coins that you think are both trusted and has the potential to give you good profits in the bull run. I would suggest you add LTC to your portfolio as it is a trusted cryptocurrency and it also performs well at times. Meme coins might provide you with great profits but I wouldn't recommend you doing that since most of them actually fail in the long run.

In 2024 it will be a halving of bitcoin and many people are waiting for it. After halving of bitcoin it price will start to rise. Acording statictics new maximum of Bitcoin will be reached at 2025. So I think that investment in Bitcoin is a good idea.

About x20 as much capital to hit the goal, I think the investment OP needs to see here is being willing to accept any problems that will come up, and fully believe that the goal will happen for at least 2 3 years next, for investment returns I think it will grow fast when we are in a bull market, but now it's about preparation and accumulation and patience with what you believe.

Except for btc, eth, I don't feel it is necessary to choose too many alts, maybe due to different researches, the evaluation will also be different, even in the current context of new L2, as well as the trend to start mentioned as much as AI will be the ones that I believe will get big attention in the future, so OP can also do more research to make a decision.

I feel like it is not really impossible, I am not saying that it is going to be easy but it is quite obvious that it is not going to be impossible. I just think that we are going to end up with a resolution that will be profitable to all. Even if he fails to go from 6k to 130k, it could still end up being good. This is why we should be focusing on what we have, and not what we think we could have.

If you focus on turning 6k to 130k, then you are going to miss your chance to get out at 80k for example. With the upcoming bull run, we are nowhere near enough high with alts, they are not that high, when the bull comes, all those alts will go up a lot more and the price will be a lot more as well. This will benefit everyone easily.

I would keep the blue chip ideas aside and consider that Bitcoin to be most safe and profitable here. Time constraints are the major deterrent because many people take these as loans and then start trading and when they can find a coin they make a thread here asking for suggestions. For an investor who does not have time constraints buy Bitcoin with this money and continue adding to your portfolio as you can every month.

Altcoins often seem like a quick avenue of success but this is a false dream because in the hurry and the risk the investor will lose money. Hence in the bear market focus on Bitcoin maximally.

Yes I totally agree with your idea. Bitcoin is still the best, especially since in 2024 there will be a halving. Although buying Bitcoin at $500 is a small number as you will have several decimals behind it but if possible buy Bitcoin little by little, year after year and I am sure you will be more successful than those who only choose altcoins.

If I have $6000, I will allocate 95% for the bitcoins. Also, I will allocate 5% for the altcoins as well. Also try to do some testnet, mainnet, and bounty as well. You will get extra money for the gas fees. Also, you have to do the portfolio rebalancing to handle the losses of the overall portfolio.

Eg: Let's say the market is a bear market, I will be selling most of the altcoins and staying with stables. If the market is bull, I will invest in coins to earn some profits. So you can maximize your portfolio like that.

it might be a long way to go if your goal is $130k. However, you have a great start. Apart from that, the portfolio you have is popular coins that have huge potential in the future. It's just that, I might agree more if the investment you have is more inclined towards bitcoin. considering that this is a long-term investment, it is best to choose the king of crypto. Additionally, I might consider not having as many coins in my portfolio, as having a lot of coins would be more difficult to manage. However, even with the strategy you have, it's a good start. Well, I hope this has been an easy journey for you.

Your portfolio is kinda fine already but instead of XRP and XLM try other altcoins for you to diversify maybe set goals on new chains. Base network is kinda early right now and I think if XRP and XLM is 5%-10% on your portfolio that would be fine but you must know that it will be risky. On the other hand, XRP is still at 50/50 win on their lawsuit against SEC and that's still risky if I may asked.

that would 22x of that money before taxes, which could make the need for growth significantly bigger.

I agree that this is the time to buy i any, but how is your portfolio divided. Because i personally can't see bitcoin raising to over half a million next bullrun. Maybe it does if you are lucky, but for example DOT seems a little random investment in your portfolio, especially when you consider that most crypto hacks have been using bridges. SOL is risky af, and XLM might lack adoption. Ada and XRP might rise even though i see anything so special with them. I don't know if they rise 20x though.

I frankly have no clue if eth has any limits on growing if they scale. So that i find a good investment. Even though it's already high in marketcap.

In my own idea you already hold the right coin why not just have patient to experience the bull market a bit, since no altcoin is trust than those you had listed already. Between I can't assure you that your $6k worth in different currencies would give you $130k if you invested them all, look closely if you wanna take a risk to venture into trade or to buy newly launched altcoin might lead you extremely to lose the rest asset you have already hold for Long now, so my suggestion is for you to be patient at the moment while the market changes to bull.

You have invested in several coins but try to increase your investment on Bitcoins because Bitcoin will create a new ATH in next 1 year. It is definitely a good idea that you are holding some other coins but now that you have decided to invest $500 monthly your investment must be in Bitcoin. Even for a long time your investment will not go in vain. So the most importance should be given to Bitcoin. If you can hold your bitcoins until the next ATH, then your dream will certainly come true.

First of all I would like to say that it is very difficult to say that there will always be a fixed amount of profit through trading. Moreover, you will not only get profit by selecting good coins, but the investment should also be at the right time. If the investment is done at the wrong time, it is not possible to gain profit. Moreover, it is also wrong to consider trading as a quick money making scheme. Aiming to make such a huge profit with such a small investment seems impossible to me, unless it's like hitting a lottery.

For me, I would go into diversification. Let's say you wanna save $500 every month.

Give 400 to bitcoin and save it there

50 for buying and selling where possible. Because investment takes time and you need something to support it. Then,

The remaining 50 can go into events. There are cool events you can participate in exchanges kcgi and it likes the could earn. You

That's my take

What you say about the potential profitability of coins like BTC and ETH is true, however, how can we be assured which altcoins are going to do well on the next bull run? It's also true altcoins are more likely to grow x10, x20 or even more in price when they hit a trend, but we never know which of them are going to show this performance.

I think OP has to put more money into BTC besides his 6000$ initial budget and 500$ DCA. Altcoins look like gambling to me. Anyway, realistically it's not that simple to grow 6000$ into 130,000$. Remember that every promise too good to be true must be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm speechless but this is step will land you in hospital if things go wrong, not because I don't see confidence and light in your process but the decision is vague and too easy to adopt. I hope you have plan B in your future plans if things don't go the way you expected, it will back fire and the to be clean and clear with you, that amount can become nothing tomorrow if the marrket should slide down further from this price, you see what has been happening since August.

If you are trying to make plans with Altcoins, I don't think trying to make money for apartment should be your primary concern, you should only be concern on how to make profit, altcoins are not guarantee, not even the entire crypto so expecting to have an apartment because you think you can own one in the future may not come as you expect it, becareful and think it through before you continue.

Another small advice I will give you is concerning SOL and ADA, so much money was lost from investors and for such 2 project to grow back requires lot of effort, if you are diversifying your portfolio, they should be the least you will allocate money to, don't forget to do your personal research.

thats true, might be possible with futures, but most certainly just simply take long time with investment, after all we can't just force the investment to have shorter timefrime its not even realistic.
the thing with investing is that, whether its gonna rise or go down, depends on the market, what we can do is just being patience, also the gain usually also determined from the money invested, if its $6k for that target of $130k i guess its gonna require some time before it could even get realized.
I'm guessing that maybe he needs to add more capital to the investment monthly more than just $500 to get into that target faster, investment in this case could function to speed up the process of gaining that massive amoun t of money.

SOL is risky af, and XLM might lack adoption. Ada and XRP might rise even though i see anything so special with them. I don't know if they rise 20x though.

I frankly have no clue if eth has any limits on growing if they scale. So that i find a good investment. Even though it's already high in marketcap.
I would say maybe for the bull run after that? I think it would be tough to keep the price same for the apartment though, that's the toughest part. I think it should be important to realize that we are talking about something that is way too big. It could definitely end up holding it for a very long time as well and then you could maybe do something with it as well.

I think it should be good case and we could end up with a good return one way or another. I hope that we could end up with a good return so there is no pessimism required, if you can't make enough on the next bull run, you could make it on the one after that, or the one after that but you could do that if you wait enough and the return will be there eventually.

I decided to set myself a goal - to save money for an apartment with the help of cryptocurrency. The cost of the apartment is $130,000...

If you invest $500 a month, then in about 20 years you will be able to buy an apartment for yourself. But this is provided that your investment does not depreciate. A more reliable option for investing would be to buy bitcoin and with a monthly investment you will receive a DCA.

You are aiming for more than 10x profits of your investment. Practically this is possible, but yes it will take time. As you can’t make a lot of money overnight, so yes you have to patience in order to yield maximum profit. You will definitely see huge profit in the next bull market if you buy now, but I don’t think it will be 10x the price. Yes buying altcoins can give you huge profits, but you need to make sure that with huge profits, huge risks also come. Do careful research before investing the amount.

The key is to have a few but the best altcoins in your portfolio and only invest a small percentage of your capital into them because you never know when the bull run will come. Any of them can shoot into the sky and if you have it in your portfolio, it will give you a very high amount in return, and others that might not perform so well will be covered with that single investment. This is the reason why it is always important to have some diversification in your portfolio.

Bitcoin should have the highest percentage of the portfolio after that should come to ETH, and then there should be about 4 to 5 altcoins that are the best among the top 15 altcoins out there, and about 20% should be invested in all of them divided equally. One should also have some liquid assets so that one can buy more if the market goes down further.

OP indeed has a good way of investing in comparison with those who are having a goal but aren't patient enough and not minimizing the risk to come up with the desired profit. No success indeed was done overnight. $500 is a bit high already but as long as you can manage the risk, then things would be alright.

You are quite having a good list and I am agreeing with using those coins except for DOT which I am not that familiar with. Also, this is a better risk than to cope up with "small names" having high rate of increase but also promotes higher risk.

Your choices and options are too many to me, it increases the risk you will face and makes it so that if you are not careful, you will just be consistently loosing the capital you want to invest, and then you will not be able to meet your target of getting a house.

If you must invest in Altcoins, invest in a few (One or two), it reduces the risk and make your investment easier to monitor.

I'll slash it into few like BTC, ETH.

That shall do and will be able to hit his target for having the cost of owning an apartment. It's a good plan of having the profit go into another asset that will generate income.

Not a lot of investors able to do that because they don't know how to spend their profit when it's already on hand.

The problem for you is that you are trying to obtain 20x profits with coins that while good will most likely not experiment such a high growth, a more conservative estimate taking into account the current prices is something between 4x and 7x, so you will need at minimum 16k to make your dreams come true, assuming my prediction is correct.

Now if you cannot get that money before the bull run then you will have no option but to buy riskier altcoins, but as you may guess the chances you will get scammed go through the roof once you begin to consider those coins as a viable investment.

BTC, ETH and XRP seem to be enough, too many coin choices will indeed be confusing. But let's look at the potential of each top altcoin, it will provide double profits if in the bull run season all altcoins rise. You just need to choose which one is the best and use it as your main investment. Be wise in choosing altcoins and make sure you don't put all your eggs in one basket, there are many baskets to choose from to maximize long-term investment.

I will not really put in any type of negative thought in this. If OP is happy about the results then he will continue to do so, if he is not happy about the results he will change and do something else with the money he has, I think that is a normal and understandable approach.

As long as people could keep on investing at the right coins, the amount they will make in profit will be a good one and should be supported and not really approached like this. Just because you do not agree with the choice of the coins doesn't mean that you have the right to tell people they are making a mistake, maybe they are right and you are wrong, we wouldn't know until it happens. Then, they can make a change if they dislike it.

If the funds are ok, why not, friend. The time for netting arrives because there are lots of big fish that can be caught because they don't swim very far. yes. the market is in a very good condition to accumulate if you have enough funds why not just BTC or ETH if you compare it if there is a price increase the profit value is also not much different if you invest in BTC and ETH even if BTC goes down a little something else maybe come too. Yes. In my opinion, the Parent coin is better to pay attention to buying at this time.

Yes I agree with you. Diversification is great but diversifying too much will not bring you any benefit. If one coin goes down in price and several other coins go up, of course that's not a good thing either. You won't really make a profit by diversifying a lot.
Just have your portfolio in 3 or 4 altcoins like CRO, XRP, MATIC and Vechain. It is my asset and I think it is the best altcoin in my opinion.

XRP is definitely not the one I would have picked there. I have always said that four horseman of crypto is btc, eth, bnb and ltc because those are the four that is known the most and loved the most with as little questions as possible.

I know that it is going to be a tough thing for a lot of people to accept that but XRP has been a scam ever since it started, I do not think that it would be something that could make a profit that easily and we should avoid it as much as we possibly could. I know that it is not going to be a simple thing, but I can't really make it work that easily neither, it just doesn't seem to be possible for people to understand why they should stay away from XRP, so I just let them be and learn themselves.

Yes, 3-4 portfolios seems to be enough, I'm also just one of them. But the selection of what Coin you want to hold is your own responsibility. If you believe it, do research and make sure the project continues and has good development.

I am also aware that XRP is not an option for everyone, I am just referring to what the OP said, I also have very little XRP and hold more BTC, ETH and BNB, and LTC seems to be a good option for the long term as well. some coins will provide maximum profits when the bullrun comes, we just need to wait. But stay away from some coins that are not recommended

You've clearly done your research, so I value your opinion on the "four horsemen" of crypto. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin all have a strong reputation. Heres a different way of looking at XRP, though. I get your concerns, but I think calling it a "scam" might be too heavy-handed. Of course there have been problems, and I understand some of your worries. For the sake of argument, though, lets say that every asset type has its own problems and critics. Remembering that is very important. Although I have my doubts about some cryptocurrencies, I believe in doing a lot of study before making a choice. As an alternative to completely ignoring XRP, I believe it should be constantly observed and evaluated. Crypto is changing very quickly, and I've learned that I should never completely rule something out.

You are right now is the time to fill your bag because the market is now bearish. If you stick to your goal, it will surely come true. Hope the bull run will start in the market in a few months. Many new projects will be launched at the beginning of Bullrun. Among these projects, good projects should be found and invested there. Also keep an eye on binance launchpad.  You will find good projects from there too.

Your portfolio has good coins to hold until bull run but you don't have BNB yet. So try adding this coin, it's one of the established and worthy to include in our portfolio (but still DYOR). The market is declining so yes a good time to keep buying, I suggest to buy additional coins only for established coins like BTC, ETH and BNB and stick to it until you had a good amount of holdings.

Your goal is to have sufficient money to buy an apartment and it's not a small amount. We can't predict what coins will have a huge growth during bull run but as long as you're holding a coins with potential, you'll certainly gain from it. Thus, be wise on what coin to buy monthly with your allocated budget.

I will start here with the calculations.
The apartment OP wants to buy is $130k and you pool your $500 for a month.

If it's just $500 x 12 months you'll get $6000. So over a year you can collect $6000 dollars to accumulate into crypto assets. So my suggestion is that you can accumulate $4500 for bitcoin, and the rest you can accumulate for altcoins, such as ETH, BNB, Matic, Solana, or ADA. In fact, if it were me personally, I would definitely accumulate 95% or even 100% of the money in bitcoin. Because as we know, Bitcoin will face a halving cycle next year, and it is very likely that a bull run market will arrive. So the possibility of price increases and potential profits is greater.

But if you are not sure about the advice I gave, you can use 50% of your money for BTC, and 50% for altcoins that you are interested in investing in. And you need to know, that your journey to be able to buy an apartment through investing in crypto is not a short time. It will definitely take a long time to achieve your dream.
So stay enthusiastic and stay patient.

I hope all investors here in cryptocurrency are like you, who have money to allocate $500 for crypto investment. That kind of amount can help a lot of the community in this crypto space. So what I can say is that if your allocation is like that, every month you will allocate 20% to altcoins, and then the 80% will go to Bitcoin.

That's a good strategy for sure,  you can save a lot of bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Even if I had a resource like yours, maybe I would do the same, which could be more. Especially now, it is a good time to invest because we are still bearish at the moment.

While it is true that having a goal gives you the incentive to try to do what you can to reach it, it is also important to try to keep the goal realistic, otherwise it is incredibly easy to take risks that are too high for the skills that we posses, also even if the goal itself is realistic sometimes what is completely out of place is the timing in which our goal can be reached.

And example of this are the people that want bitcoin to reach one million dollars during the next bull run, do I think that bitcoin can reach that price? Yes, do I think it will happen during the next bull run? Not really.

Hi all. I have a question. Approximately how much capital do I need to have before the bull run to reach my goal of $130 thousand? 20 thousand? thirty?
This is complex and requires research first. I don't know exactly when the bull run season is but what I can say based on experience in previous bull run seasons is that it is very difficult to reach the $130k goal with $30k. This means that it requires an increase of around 4.5 times the capital. If we talk realistically, I suggest $50k-$70k and with that amount of capital I recommend investing in BTC because apart from the confidence that has been guaranteed, at least an increase of 70-90% in the bull run season is still quite something to consider.

Hi all. I have a question. Approximately how much capital do I need to have before the bull run to reach my goal of $130 thousand? 20 thousand? thirty?
That totally depends on the coins you are buying and their growth percentage in the bull run. However, the higher the capital is, the higher the profits will be. For example, if Bitcoin is priced at $30k and you buy $15k worth of Bitcoin, when the price of Bitcoin reaches $31k, you will get $500 in profit, whereas, if Bitcoin is priced at $30k and you buy a whole Bitcoin, you will earn $1,000 if it manages to go to $31k. That's how a higher capital affects the profit percentage you might get.

That being said, it still will depend on the coins or tokens that you will be buying when they are low and selling them when they are high. You will need to get 13x profit if you are using $10k as your initial capital, in the same way, if you are using $20k, you will need to get 6.5x profit in the bull run.

--Knight Hider
Bitcoin outperforms most altcoins because there's countless of scammy and 90% or more of them won't even end up in coinmarketcap before they are over. We are at the point where bitcoin has become so valuable it's hard for it to outperform any smaller caps. In fact several famous altcoins have outperformed in several years it even after them being famous already.

I am not saying bitcoin is a bad investment, but i hardly can see it outperforming the potentially good top marketcap altcoins.

You are using price target without indicating the capital size you are explaining, only the profits you were giving out, I believe $1000 was the basis you were using as the capital example and with such explaination, it is very clear that percentage increase can give you the type of profit you want or wish to have but I hope you know that it is not only in percentage increase alone money can be made from, you make it also from % decrease as the subject says, there are opportunity in every direction of the market.

Making money here really depends on how lucky you are to have bough the right project that blew up before pump, the one that captire everyone and the one the trade maketeters all hype very well, if you have just one of them to have bought just $100, you will not regret spending $1 to buy any coin in crypto.

well thats true, bitcoin market capitalization is simply too high to make it have massive gain within short amount of time at best it would be some slight increase overtime but seeing the
linear growth of bitcoin we can be rest assured that every halving its gonna increase its value maybe breaking through its previous all time high.
moreover, its mostly suited for those institutional investors that have millions in their pocket to invest in bitcoin.
for individual not so much but still best investment since from the linear growth alone we could always see that its special.

Regardless of what coins we choose, we can only make a profit if we are also patient enough to wait for the price will rise. Because the truth is that we can' expect to earn a profit right after buying them, the price won't always go up high, it dumps as well that is we have to learn to hold. What we always do is we assume that the market will give us a favor, but it is not and losses are very possible for impatient people.
If we are a trader, profit is still possible during the bear season but if we are just purely as an investor, that is unlikely possible.

Not easy to earn an apartment in this bear market ,Things are not easy these days most people finds it hard to diversify their portpolia and make good gains. Currently more than 90% of my portfolio consist of Btc think it is much safer for investment and holding for a long time unlike the other altcoins. Most altcoins lose so much of there value in a short time that is why there are not very safe for long term hold.

I got to say that’s gonna be way big leap if you achieve that goal. I think starting with just 500 bucks a month gonna take lot of time for you. The volatility will be hitting hard all the time and all those cyclic changes will make you think twice whether to continue your quest or not. I am not demotivating you but putting huge stakes on Altcoins isn’t right idea. I am thinking you should add more funds in bitcoin and also contribute more than 500 bucks per month. Consider as if you are paying EMI for loan or something but only thing is you will be saving for the good. With what you saving and let us say 25% hiked every year then also it will take you 17 years period. This is also after keeping your saving plan fixed and yearly hikes fixed. It could be more.

Token   Value   Ratio

XRP       $2,561.96    38.46%
BTC       $1,546.26    23.21%
XLM       $821.06      12.33%
DOT       $445.74   6.69%
ADA       $424.72   6.38%
1INCH    $195.53   2.94%
BNB       $141.23   2.12%
ATOM     $117.26   1.76%
SHIB      $114.81   1.72%
AVAX      $95.65   1.44%
QTUM     $84.76   1.27%
SOL        $59.75   0.90%
WBETH   $52.27   0.78%
[/quote]

That is a very good one and smart decision one need to take in cryptocurrency market, because the current market price situation not encouraging at all to used all the assets in one basket, the chance of next Bull Run market is set as long you can hold as stated good to go and well prepared for next Bull Run.

Hi all. I have a question. Approximately how much capital do I need to have before the bull run to reach my goal of $130 thousand? 20 thousand? thirty?
my rought suggestion is that to determine the previous all time high and current price make comparation, then you estimate capital needed for that, like if bitcoin right now is about $25k and
previous bullrun all time high was about $100k then you can simply invest about $30K and if bitcoin really hits all time high in future bullrun then you could easily score $120k within just one period that with a big if honestly since we all still don't know whether bitcoin could ever reach its all time high again but the previous bullruns has shown that bitcoin always hitting all time high and growing quite rapidly in terms of valuation so therefore
that'd be my estimation, but I believe even if it reached half of all time high you'd already made massive money.

What he's thinking is not unrealistic, to be honest, based on what we've seen in the past during bull runs, it's achievable, but it's not easy for sure, and there is obviously no guarantee that all his investments will work and bring him multiple folds of profit during the bull run and that is the only way he can actually get his target achieved, otherwise, he may get some profit on top of his total investment but he won't actually reach as high as he wants to reach.

Logically, though some new altcoins might be able to do that, expecting a very high return from an already-established altcoin is not good because they might not be able to go that high during the bull run. One should expect maybe a 4x to 6x return on altcoins that have relatively low prices in general.

Hello everyone, accumulation is accelerating, at the moment the crypto portfolio is $9,500, and there is also an additional $2,000 that is waiting for further investment. Do you think we will expect prices to go down?

I would keep >90% in Bitcoin. Bitcoin outperforms most altcoins, unless you buy a lucky one.

--Knight Hider

This is exactly what I have been doing so far where most of my investment are into Bitcoin. The rest are being played into DeFi where I am doing retroactive drop campaigns.

Ethereum on the other hand, is also what I am preferring to as long term like Bitcoin. So both BTC and ETH are much more worth to buy, hold and DCA (dollar-cost averaging).

If I were you, I keep accumulating in these two coins that I’ve mentioned regardless of the market conditions.

Op the plan you have taken is very good plan if your luck is with you if you can achieve success through hard work.  But I think you are much better off investing in Bitcoin rather than investing in alt coins. Because we have seen before that many people have suffered losses by investing in alt coins. So I will advise you to invest in Bitcoin. Of course you have to proceed with caution and invest carefully and certainly want you to succeed.

I think one of the best options is to add more BTC and I think some other potential altcoins have a high chance of raising their price in the upcoming months because not all of the altcoins in your lists are actually good rather they will fail because of lots of disappointment that are currently going on in their platforms. It's best to stay on buying more BTC because next year there will be another bull run which we all know will be the same reason for the price of bitcoins to rise and probably will create another ATH as well.

There is a purpose behind everything we do. Once you have set a specific goal, you have taken a step forward. There are various top coins in your portfolio. I think you can add Matic coin to your portfolio. Because it is Polygon network's own coin and its demand is increasing day by day.

Those that are on the OPs portfolio are not really that bad alts, those were the kind of alts that follow suit during bitcoin will have a run. So, most probably it's going to after the halving where bitcoin tends to make a bullrun that could potentially break another ATH, these alts would follow as well. Though adding more bitcoin to your portfolio is a bit of a safer choice than continue diversifying with alts these days, but still it depends on your preferences as we are all trying to maximize the opportunity to earn more during bull season.

Is it risk-free to buy BTC and ETH?

It is not risk free to invest in any of them. But it is better to limit the number of tokens you are putting your money on in order to limit your risk also. The fewer you have them the lesser your risk of exposure is. That is what he meant. Ok, you said about setting $130,000 to get an apartment. Is that renting or you are buying it out to own it because that is huge amount?

So you do have currently 6k usd in your crypto or still in fiat form? If those total in 6k then you would really be having no choice but to hold it up specially those coins mentioned are top layer 1 coins in the market.
The only issue on here is that there's no way on telling on which coins would really be pumping on upcoming bull run. There's no way on knowing on what the future holds. Basing up on your target which is
$160k which is really that still needing that x22 of your current portfolio value then i must say that it is really that still too far stretch off. Somewhat we dont really know on how many X or multipliers which those coins would really be able to reach out on upcoming bullrun. Dont alter out with those coins you've selected into some shitcoins in the market just to make yourself be able to reach out that goal. Be patient and lets see on how
this upcoming bullrun would stretched out.

Totally not a bad choice and even myself on having a capital or money to be spent then i would definitely be going with these top coins and a little bit mix of some new coins
that had really some potential on which i could say that it isnt really that a bad bag that you've been holding. Better to get less risky action or movement rather than
on making yourself bagholding some shit or meme coins for long term .lol

the only way you can earn profit in bearish is by future trading, but the thing is its really difficult to win in future trading.
sometime you might lose your investment instead thats why many people are also avoiding future trading because its more difficult than spot.

instead of future trading I will still recommend him to do investment in Bitcoin and since he made mentioned of the kind of project he would like to invest. And why I am recommending that because the amount needed to rent the apartment is very big amount and the total amount he has still far from reaching the amount to rent the apartment so if he can use the $5000 to invest in Bitcoin and when the price of Bitcoin enter the ATH then he will make enough profit to rent the apartment or even if it is possible to buy it, he can do that. Because the time the thread was created was an August 2023 and by then Bitcoin was $25,000 so if he bought it at that time nd now that Bitcoin is $46,000, he would have taken some profit and continue the investment.

I have repeatedly said that security is the main thing in investing. I don't mind BTC and ETH and I also hope that most of your portfolio is filled with BTC and ETH. It doesn't matter if a small part of the portfolio is filled with altcoins of your choice such as XRP, SOL, DOT, XLM, ADA.
