Title: Requires support from merit sources
Post by: PytagoraZ on August 14, 2023, 01:12:48 AM

17 August 2023 is the independence day of the Republic of Indonesia. In our country, in order to welcome independence day, we usually carry out various activities to celebrate independence activities. Such as competitions, carnivals, thanksgiving, and others.

I see a lot of activities supported by merit source so that many members are enthusiastic to take part. I request support from merit source in this activity created in thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5463180.0

You can monitor this thread to see photos of activities and festivities commemorating the independence of the Republic of Indonesia or in our regional language it is often called "tujuhbelasan" ('tujuhbelasan' is the term for the number 17 in the local language)

If there is a merit source willing to support, I would be grateful

No activities relate to Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies so that merit sources actually have reasons to support if support means distributing merit in that thread.

By the way, congratulate for your national Indonesian Independence Day.

Yes you're right. This is an activity on a local scale in our country. But I think it can increase member participation if there is support from merit sources.

Am I not allowed to ask for support from merit sources for such activities? sorry I don't know about that

Those aren't prerequisites for merit sources handing out merits, just so you know.  I'd be happy to merit posts in that thread provided they were good and they were in English (which they're not).  I'm not sure why OP is making an appeal for help to merit sources anyway--it seems kind of odd to me, especially since there haven't been that many posts made in his linked thread so far.

There's no rule against it that I know of; I just think it's odd personally, not that it's against forum rules or even that it's shady.  Does the Indonesian section not have at least one merit source?

Nope, I think there are few merit sources there because they have two moderators which mean the section must be active. Looking at the total post and merit flooding in their local board (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5231446.msg62561774#msg62561774) there's no need to seek such help because they're top 2 position in the highest merit sharing.

The @OP is greedy, he want more merit especially in his thread. Maybe he want to create a shitty merit festival like pizza contest where people just posting a picture about something rounded with BTC letter and get a lot merit.

I'd love it if you occasionally took a look at the thread for the next few days. I just created this thread so no one has commented yet.

Yes there is, I've PMed him to help me out, but he's not online yet. But he already distributed a lot of sMerit a few days ago, I don't know how much sMerit each source of merit has

I beg for advice, should I close this thread?

Yes, that's right, I saw about a pizza contest, and it was a lot of fun. no..no, actually I want support from merit sources to give just 1, and that's for interesting photos, not for every photo.

I just checked that thread and i only see OP post there that contains few images of celebration. Maybe the other people from the country have not contributed yet or they are not interested ???

Also asking for support from merit sources indirectly means that he wants the posts to be merit by the merit sources  ???

By the way everyone has smerits with them, and not only merit sources.  Why not Indonesian users contributes and support their own celebrations? Even without the merit source, this can be done.

I think yes, this is an unethical request to merit sources to support a post that would not actually be very relevant to the purpose of the forum. I also imagined what it would be like, the "merit exchange" in the past.

There are few better social media platform options than this forum to post such of photos only to hope for a bigger form of support even from the closest ones. Also, if I remember correctly posting pictures with faces is not really encouraged here.

Members are usually asking help for the already wreitten good posts, but what you are asking is for merit sources to help you in a thread that has nothing to do with crypto, so more people can post their non-crypto related stuff and get merit which in the end can turn into merit fishing.

To be fair, they are so high only because there are few external merit sources that have been helping them in the last few months.

Another begging. OP, how does this topic relate to Bitcoin?
I am happy for your country and your holiday, but no more. And why am I not surprised that a similar topic was created by you?
I'll try to ask the moderators to move the topic to an off-topic section. It's a great place for a holiday.

By the way, do you intend to create a similar topic every time there are holidays in your country? ;D

If you can get genuine people to participate in your thread I’m sure you might get one or two merit sources im your thread but for now there’s no activity there and now that you have created this thread appealing that a merit source visit the thread and merit future posts (which sounds odd to me) the only thing you’ll get in your thread now are users trying to milk merits not those that are participating genuinely.

I believe that your local board have some merit source, if the activity in your thread increases they would have helped you out with the merits that you’re currently appealing for. Happy Independence Day celebration, btw.
