Guys, did you remember Optimism's previous round of airdrops? Those were a very huge amount of free money. They mostly consider giving those airdrops to those who usually use their main net.
 
These are the Scenarios of Optimism's Round 1 & Round 2 both airdrops.  8)

So according to those points, what can we expect to be eligible for OP 3rd round airdrop? I analyze a bit of these previous scenarios and these are some key points that we can expect in 3rd airdrop round.

• Done at least 10000$ transactions on Optimism
• Delegate at least 8000 OP tokens
• Use Optimism for more than a year with at least 100+ transactions
• Spend at least 200$+ for gas fees

These are the only speculations that I have done. Since it's 3rd round I think Optimism will consider mainly for the most active ones in their network + community may be.

So what are your thoughts about this?

What else that I missing here? I have seen regularly a lot of posts always similar in  Altcoin Discussion that say "Should I buy this coin/token? when a bull market appears? what are the top alts in the next bull run blah blah blah"  Let's start a real Discussion with a token that has a great user case and good funding background? Shall we?

Why would they wanna do another round 3 airdrop?
My thought is no more airdrop. If you wanna use the optimism network, use it without expecting any airdrop.

I doubt there will be another airdrops as they done a huge one already. But since Optimism is still early we can think of it as another chance but they will do that only if only necessary like boosting the community or for other enhance activity on their platform. But if you consider their current standing they will not drop it right away maybe few years from now again.

Because there are more tokens for community contribution.

Yes. There will be a 3rd airdrop based on their tokenomics. I am expecting it this year. It will be a huge one.

Possible Scenarios :

1. Number Of transactions
2. Volume
3. Gitcoin Donations
4. DAO and voting
5, Number of active weeks
6. Number of active months
7. Number of active days
8. Time of the first transaction
9. Number of dapps

There will be another airdrop 100% sure. Look at the tokenomics. I'm pretty sure this round is for whales only and if it comes in the next bull run. It will be worth more than the ZRO airdrop. May be 8000-10000$

What about the Optimism quests? I collected all of teh NFTs. Plus the supply giveaway was 14%. They only gave 5% away plus a piddly amount back in March 2023

In my view for completing the quests and supporting them for 3 months worth of transactions, surely there is another 8-9% to giveaway of the supply?  ???

I had used Optimism back than. But I haven't done large number of transactions. The only reason I used Optimism due to its lower fee for using dapp and lower fee withdrawing from some centralized exchange. But it was also a hassle as I thought OP were the gas for the platform but it was actually wrapped ether which was even hard to get hands on. This made me use the platform less as matic became my cheap goto alternative for Ethereum platform.
The airdrop would be a good reward for the loyal users of OP as most of us occasional users would have no chance.

I just think that the next airdrop will be more of community incentives in which gonna spread across many addresses not only limited by those criteria mentioned.
its more of doing favour for the masses you know.
i remember there are rumour in regards of optimism airdrop back then but it turns out that it just merely reimbursement for those that have used the blockchain and thats it.
so I don't think anything massive will be happening this time around honestly. so don't have too much of expectations I guess.

They could include early users of OP stack based blockchains like Coinbase's base and opBNB. Such eligibility criteria doesn't seem far fetched to me.

Going by the criteria stated above by @OP, I doubt many people will be eligible for the presume op 3rd airdrop. 8000 op at this current market price is 11k plus, there is a $10,000 volume on optimism, and so on.  If there is ever going to be a 3rd drop it will only be for those who benefited from the 1st and 2nd and still holding.
I was not a beneficiary of OP airdrop and I don't intend to burn any cash for a supposed airdrop based on speculation.

There were 18 or so quests plus other delegation NFTs that I acquired. There has been no reward for this as yet and I received the first and 2nd airdrops collectively.

I really do have my fingers crossed for this 3rd airdrop. I spent 3 to 4 months collecting these airdrops and risking funds staking on HOP, swapping etc on other protocols and I used Pika protocol for a few months creating transactions. I dont see the point in these quests if there is no 3rd airdrop and still 8% TVL to give away

However it has been a year since I started these quests. Surely there was some benefit to playing with all of these tasks

Well, just as I spike a moan, Optimism Airdrop 3 pays out and nothing to do with quests whatsoever - gutted !

Yep because just in case if they will have  another airdrop for sure that most of people that will receive the airdrop are the most users who are really using the network, like active users with a huge volume that is being circulating in the chain, like per transaction or by volume.

as I remember Retroactive airdrop it happen once Remember the TrustWallet Uniswap or Arbitrum all happen only once. Basically retroactive airdrop is rewarding a user who use their network or App at early stage.

or Simple term would be "Hey Thanks for coming to my new app". and usually it happened once

I like this thinking, I do same.



You got early rounds of airdrops for doing transactions, they were worth well too, regarding hunting nfts most of them tend to be waste of time, only significant being Aptos so far which had included nft mint as one of eligibility criterias.

Nfts or otherwise, doing quests usually turns out futile.

Optimism confirmed before that there will be multiple rounds of airdrops, 3rd round isn't last either.

I like that this round is about governance, and not much about how heavy your pockets were doing transactions on OP.

Yeh its more the quests I am referring to. There are still 570million tokens to give away from teh airdrop 4 now (possibly ongoing airdrops)

The technology they offer is cutting-edge, and it is one of the most potential projects in the L2 sector. But I am not so convinced about this airdrop and how it is benefiting the ecosystem. ??? Instead giving away so many tokens to airdrop farmers, they can be allocated for ecosystem development. 

Have been confirmed trough Optimism (OP) twitter social media account have third round of airdrop, you can check on their twitter announcement with 19M OP coin allocated for airdrop  to over 31k unique addresses. I just check awhile and not reading with eligibility address will received an airdrop but depend with airdrop allocated seems each participants or address eligible will received around 600 OP coin, but its not an official reward depend with my opinion only if distribution have the same amount for 31 unique address. I don't participants in first and second of Optimism (OP) airdrop and not hoping can be qualify in 31k unique address will received airdrop coins. Looks excited with Optimism (OP) consistency distribution reward almost second round, maybe have next round or potential until five or seven round later for distributing their airdrop coins.

Finally Optimism announced the third airdrop and 31k wallet is eligible for 19m airdrop. unfortunately this time airdrops is just for users who holding voting power and have delegated votes woth more than 100 OP. I am not eligible for this time and recieved only Airdrop 2. I claimed OP quest NFT also but i think no airdrop for nft holder.

The good thing is that they announces that there will be no claiming and token will directly distributed to the eligible address. This is very good step and will stop the scam activity also because most of wallet hack happened because of wallet connecting. If anybody has delegated vote then he can check their address in below list. The number of tokens could also be checked.
