Your starting bid is a bit high considering recent sales of other similar coins at an average of about 26-27 btc per coin.

Good luck with auction

Yeah, this won’t get a single bid at that starting price. Suggest starting at 25 BTC if anything, but you’ll probably be hard pressed to find anyone who would risk shipment from France. Curious what insurance you’re referring to, as I’m not aware of any carrier willing to insure the loaded value of a coin. Also, I suggest any prospective buyer to only use a trusted escrow like Minerjones on a transaction of this amount. Too risky otherwise. Best of luck.

based on the first bits, this appears to be the coin address - funded in July 2013

1GdTvPef5njg1b2amc4Rse6cFUd43y6szn

https://mempool.space/address/1GdTvPef5njg1b2amc4Rse6cFUd43y6szn

for this amount you should use a courier - someone who would fly over pick it up and personally deliver it.

Hi, thanks for you comment.
Where I live the bitcoin is illegal. Where I store it is legal (in bank in France)

I suggest any prospective buyer to only use a trusted escrow like Minerjones on a transaction of this amount. Too risky otherwise.
I don't understand the escrow system, can you explain me more about this system?

To less than 35BTC it's more interesting for me peeling it.

All the comments are 100% correct, everything about this auction setup is not looking good, please take advise from the OG's on here.

you are basically saying your idea of "interesting" cost 10 btc ($260,000)  26-27btc for that coin should be worth your time.but to each their own,  just my humble opinion

Honestly, I wouldn’t risk loss in the mail or any of the many other problems that could pop up while transferring ownership of this coin for a 10% gain, so I can understand the seller’s crazy asking price. That being said, nobody with 35 BTC would burn 10 BTC to own a coin made of cheap metal. We’re probably entering a period where buyers and sellers will drift far away in price until either enough coins get peeled that the premium rises, or sellers get old and want to cash out and move on with their lives.

@alpha_one_x86 how come you post here again after ~8.5 years absence and then immediately start with an auction of a 25 BTC cas coin
i don't want to accuse you of anything here, but you have already seen and experienced quite a few things...

I put my 25BTC up for sale on here in 2017. I was asking 33BTC. My highest offer was 28.3BTC. I peeled it, consoling myself that i didnt need to deal with delivery risk, and that i get to keep and enjoy it, and can sell the peeled coin easier and quicker.

Have a gander at this thread, for its sentiment/s regarding high value funded coins, exactly like your Cas.....
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5463281.msg62735257#msg62735257
Its showing that high funded coins have little or no premium value, even when traded at established venues.

If you are offered 27BTC+, get on a plane and bite the arm off asap.

Hi, well every well, I understand/see your point of view.
Then with 81% of taxes selling by this way, sell it at near 25BTC is not interesting. I will just peeling it. Thanks for your time.
Just for my curiosity, it's same for every coin? like casascius coin 2011 serie 1?

There have been no sales of loaded 25 Cas coins this year that I have recorded. One sold last year for $1,102,500 (PCGS MS66 April 2022) on Great Collections.

I have record of several peeled ones sold this year:

0.152 BTC         1/10/2023
.108 BTC         2/27/2023
.1802 BTC         5/13/2023
.565 BTC         7/20/2023

If you peel, this is what you could still sell the coin for. Easier to mail also

If any of those are one that I auctioned, pretty sure they all got graded through me..
I can check to see if I still have the grade reports

EDIT:
Here is what I could find from my PCGS account:

10/22 MS62
11/22 MS62
06/23 MS63
07/23 MS65
08/23 MS62
08/23 MS65

They don’t tend to grade very high. Most have a lot of nicks/dents on the surface. Does anyone know what type of metal it is? It must be pretty soft.

Regardless, I have a graded/peeled series 1 and series 2, and they are a prized part of my collection. They are beautiful, large, and knowing they were once loaded with 25 BTC tickles me.

Thank would be great. After looking back I see that I made an assumption they were raw due to the fact that most pictures on threads are broken later than June this year. Can't really see grades if they are not written in the descriptions.

Wow these stats showed me that I really paid up for mine.😂
Just came back a MS65 and it looks so beautiful. I love it. If M.J. says it’s the nicest  Cas 25btc he has ever seen that that’s good enough for me. PCGS ain’t got nothing on M.J.”s Eyes 😉
