Title: Is CNBC blocked on Bitcointalk?
Post by: Asta124 on September 17, 2023, 02:11:13 PM
I tried to respond to one of the threads on Bitcoin Discussion by attaching a link from CNBC, but when I published my response it showed that the article link had been removed because it was considered a suspicious link.

You just didn’t paste the link correctly:

Here’s what you wrote:

Here is the correct link

Edit: Looks like there is a problem indeed.

AFAIK it's because you're still a newbie and sometime the forum will detect outside link as suspicious, I don't completely remember about the detail. It's not this forum restrict CNBC, I don't think the forum restrict any site too.

Look this is the link and I can post it without any problem.

Weird, as there's no info also how links become suspicious here, all of them were blacklisted by admins or maybe only theymos only.

Well, on the other hand since we are talking cnbc which was considered not reliable[1][2] by many for so many times, so it's reasonable.

Edit: The reply above looks how it works because of your rank.
Edit2: Not really though, the other link OP replied works on theguardian not on cnbc

You can see that I attached 2 links, and only the one from CNBC was removed which is strange. If newbies are prohibited from using certain links, please give me the details anyone.

I can remember very well that when I was a newbie, some links that I post can be removed like this. Like Jawhead999 said, this will no longer happen to you as you rank up on this forum.

@Asta124, you have gotten the answer to the question that you asked, it would be better if you lock this topic to avoid other people to be posting the same thing that has already been answered.

To lock a topic, go down this thread, you will see lock topic at the left side. Lock it.

Edit:
You can see that I attached 2 links, and only the one from CNBC was removed which is strange. If newbies are prohibited from using certain links, please give me the details anyone.
It happens to new users only. Not all links are affected.

Despite the fact that CNBC is not a good or reliable source to get information but the problem is not with CNBC it's with the link that OP has shared. Even though Zenp has mentioned that mistake, I would like to add that link again (the real link) which is here:
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/03/04/survey-finds-one-third-of-crypto-buyers-dont-know-what-theyre-doing.html
The problem is when I quoted the post of the OP that he referred to. I found out that some suspicious tag was written on it. IDK (I Don't know) why. Maybe, it was tagged by some moderators as they can edit your post but will not do so until they have a valid reason.

Let's see after posting the reply, whether my link works or not. And OP please confirm that isn't the same link that you tried to post there.

Edit: I just noticed that, in the above picture, there is "zenp" (who is the first poster of this thread) is written when I quote the post of the Asta124. Why the username of zenp is there?

It is cnbc link, and with his rank, because OP shared the other link with theguardian and it works. The one Zenp shared is the amp version of it, technically its the same.
