Title: Preparing for opportunities
Post by: Obari on September 21, 2023, 02:17:15 PM
I don't always do this often but I thought it wise to say some words of encouragement to the newbies as I really do understand how much effort it takes to grow on the forum and I want to use this medium to advice all newbies to keep pushing and not restrain from making meaningful contributions to the community because you aren't getting the expected appreciations for your works and efforts which I understand is most times disheartening but I want to encourage you to continue the good works as most times merits and rewards might not come at the expected time and might even take weeks or even months before your work gets recognized, hence what I'm saying in essence is that if you don't make quality post(preparation) then merits (success) wouldn't come, so keep making good post and I assure that the desired rewards will come in.

These are just some kind words of advice and encouragement from me to those who need it.

Your words will work for the newbies (mean it will definitely encourage them to not give up) but I would also like to add my version, which is, that newbies have different mindsets, which means, they have different purposes here, some want to learn, some want to earn, some want to get trust (trust of other, not positive trust) but of course some might be looking to get some positive trust too, Just because these aforementioned things looks good on their profile. Besides all that, I have seen many newbies even legendaries have made a good topic or reply but for some reason, they don't get that much appreciation.

For such cases, there are many merits sources who have opened threads, to mention such topics or replies so that those merit sources would give them some appreciation. To be honest, I don't think newbies will value the importance of merits at the start but as time passes those who don't will understand it.

Pro tip, don't post to get merits or trust. Post to get a reputation, be legit and dedicated to the forum, and of course try to contribute and grow faster. Join your local board, because I have seen many newbies don't even know that they have their own local board, Like I came to knew about my local board after a long period.

This sounds like something that would definitely inspire beginners, in my opinion. Actually, it's not easy at all, but the more you participate in the forum, comprehend its guidelines, and post worthwhile discussions, the more merit you'll get. In order to avoid discouraging newcomers, I would want to encourage people with high rank and merit sources to always offer merit for quality posts.

This difficulty is one I initially encounter. I had trouble coming up with good topics to write, but the longer I stay on the site, the more I begin to get the idea of Bitcoin. So, right now, contributing to the forum is quite simple. I urge newcomers to thoroughly research a certain subject and to express their opinions on it. Do not post or comment outside of the themes.

I think as a newbie, trying to figure out how the forum work so as not to get banned was my initial challenge and sometimes you make a post that you think is of high quality and it's not recognized that much.

I still draw strength from your post and will take my time to make quality posts and engage on other posts are see how the growth process will look like

Participation in a forum like this shouldn't solely revolve around the pursuit of merits and ranking up. If someone's primary motivation is to accumulate these then, they may be missing the essence of the community. Instead, it's more meaningful to be authentic and view this platform as a valuable opportunity for personal growth and learning. Engaging in discussions about cryptocurrency, money, blockchain, and related topics allows individuals to expand their knowledge and expertise over time.

When you genuinely contribute to the community by sharing insights, asking thoughtful questions, and engaging in meaningful discussions, your efforts are likely to be recognized by fellow members. Merits and other forms of recognition will naturally follow as a byproduct of your authentic engagement. This approach benefits not only the individual but also contributes to the overall improvement of the Bitcoitalk community as well.

These are just some kind words of advice and encouragement from me to those who need it.

Staying here on this forum is by choice and not by force, there are thousands if not millions making registration each day amd are not staying but only few stay because they realized the need why they should, as usual i expect every newbies to encounter one or two difficulties while staying and this shouldn't be an obstacle to their stay, all should rather be considered as part of the requirements on learning process and later will turn to their experience, nobody should feels intimidated here just by mere discussion when they are not what you receive in physical, if you really want to stay then you must learn and never feels intimidated during all the period of your stay.

Your word of motivation is highly appreciated and I believe newbies will be grateful to you when ever they come across this thread but one thing we must not forget is this, not getting enough merit doesn't mean the community isn't seeing your good works and not having merit doesn't mean someone is not growing, so many people are here for different reasons some are here to acquire knowledge of cryptocurrency only while some people are here to have more knowledge and to render some services too so I think everyone is for a particular reason.

Not forgetting that merit is one of the things that takes some one to another rank but we shouldn't forget that the said merit is one of the easiest things to get here because it is freely given and it is freely received all you need to do is to put in your knowledge to writing but taking out time to read and get informations that will be helpful to the community and the people in it. When ever we motivate newbies, I think we should also encourage them to work and not be relaxed hoping that good information and knowledge comes easily, I hope they get motivated after reading this.

My encouragement to the newbies here is to read harder the tech behind bitcoin and basics of bitcoin. The forum recognise members with deep knowledge in bitcoin. The higher the knowledge of bitcoin a member harness the stronger the love. If a newbie reads and studies bitcoin to understand new features and developments being added to bitcoin, they'll love to discuss more about bitcoin and stay active in the forum. Newbies who create posts with few knowledge on bitcoin, their thread will only be attended to like any other random posts in the forum. But if they create posts out of strong and rich information about bitcoin such that other members can, through the thread, refresh their memories or learn new info about the growth of bitcoin. The newbie will feel a certain amount of fulfilment for learning bitcoin and the merit, which OP tagged as success can come subsequently to such newbie for learning bitcoin. The merit can facilitate the newbies to take action and read further to increase their knowledge of bitcoin.  A lot of newbies leave the forum because their posts don't seem important and no merits awarded to them, they'll quit the forum. That's why I encourage newbies to read extensively on bitcoin, they will see a better result in their personal response to bitcoin and also make new friends here in the forum.

Good advice OP, I guess your advice has touched the mind of newbies to prepare themselves well by reading and study anything that contain cryptocurrency so that they will be able to meet this opportunity in the community that will put smile in their mouth base on their quality Post. I know that newbies will not remain for newbies forever which you know, and they are trying their possible best to meet this opportunity but is not easy for them to meet the opportunity because they are still lacking one or two things, but they will continue doing what is good until they reach that success you are talking about.  I guess this advice is for me because since I decided to be more active in Bitcointalk forum by reducing some of the activities that is keeping me busy  day and night not to learn from Hiro members and legendary members has add more impact to me, and the way I use to respond to some Post in the Bitcointalk forum and local board have made me to believe that some day I will share my newbies story like the way full members and serior members are always sharing their journey history in the community.

A good gesture from your side as motivation plays a significant role in bearing hardships, also would like to mention, that these days I'm encountering most of your topics  :D, seems like you really like starting a discussion on different topics.

Anyway, besides that my new colleagues, I'd like to share a quick word of advice, consistency is the key to growth, you may find it challenging in the early stages but it will undoubtedly bring out some substantial output, so keep trying. Don't run for merits, prefer gaining some domain knowledge and gaining a reputation in the community merits will naturally follow as your contributions gain recognition..

For the rest Best of Luck.  :)

Forum members have been very loving and caring to most newbies and if you check recent merit earnings among members in all levels of the forum ranks you still discover that newbies have accumulated a lot of merits and that shows the positive position of the other forum ranks in motivating newbies most especially those who make meaningful contributions.

Havent been one of such newbies who enjoyed this benevolence from other higher ranks members in the past, I stand to say that, the only newbies that find it most difficult to grow in the forum are those who are not actively active 8n the forum and haven't made any meaningful contributions to discussions.

So for that, I found your advice most helpful at this point to show newbies that there is a reward for quality continuity in the forum.

I mean it wasn't really necessary of required to make a great quality post, you could pretty much post everything you want here in the forum, But for sure this forum is great if you really want to learn about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency there was no doubt about it since this is where I learn most of my knowledge about cryptocurrency. The best thing to do here is to start your journey on cryptocurrency, probably you could start investing already if you think you already know what you are doing you have done enough research already, and you want to start investing to make a profit. This forum could help you if you are just a beginner posting here could make you learn a lot and at the same time you could ask anything here if you having a problem or just want some advice about cryptocurrency or how you going to invest.

The more you gain experience here in the cryptocurrency space the more you can create more quality posts here in the forum and that just means you're probably going to get more merits, I mean there are some benefits if you gain a good rank here in the forum at the same time you're also investing, I think that's a good opportunity already for every newbie to start there investment journey at the same time start here in the forum since its already a great community.

I've seen several responses and wow I must co fess that people really have different different opinions about an issue or a topic and this always makes me believe  that understanding truly matters in life.
To all those who think it is normal for people to bother about growing on the forum, you're right and also to people who think people shouldn't be bothered about growing in ranks on the forum doesn't really matters as what truly matters is the fact that you're making meaningful posts and merits and growth doesn't matter.

But from my opinion,  the truth be told that no matter your aim and purpose on the forum, there is always a joy that comes with ranking up and these ranking only comes from receiving merits and merits o ly come from making good post and my opinion is that people shouldn't feel discouraged if they aren't getting merits especially  when they feel they've made good post because some times people read and appreciate  your post but might be short in merits to appreciate your post and might have you in mind till they have some smerit to appreciate your work which might take weeks or even days or months.

In addition, i will say don't stop learning, don't stop contributing your knowledge to the forum; everywhere in the world, no one knows it all. An important advantage of the forum is the opportunity to learn massively either in economics, bitcoin, trading, mining or politics. By focusing on learning, contributing and interacting in the forum; you will achieve more than you can imagine.

Focus on the bigger goal; dream big. and Remember the more you learn, the better for you in the long run.

I think the reason why most newbies give up their account easily is that they expect every post they make to get merits, and when that doesn’t happen, they feel unappreciated and develop the mindset that high rank members only give merits to themselves. I remember when you were a newbie, today you on your way to hero member. This is enough motivation for newbies to take themselves seriously and build their account. Bitcointalk isn’t as hard as you let yourself believe.

Wow you're awesome and I didn't really go through your profile but for the fact you already got activities for senior member but still haven't gotten merit to rank up even to full member and yet you're still actively making contributions on the forum is a show that you're really good and not even pressured.
+1 for you and this is my little way of saying you should never give up at least for the purpose you first registered.
And I hope people will always do their best to show love at every instance they get and I'm sure the appreciation will always be for meritable posts and not just any random post, what I'm trying to say is that we should keep doing our best to keep the community going in love.

I will also advise all the newbies to keep on impacting positively and learning from the forum, but newbies should know that if they are in the forum because of merits, then they might end up not even getting the merits they want, but if they are here to learn and impact other people, then they will definitely be getting merits. You said newbies are not getting expected appreciation, which I can say you are wrong. We can still see newbies rank up on the forum here, so if they are not getting merit, how will you be able to rank up? But you don’t expect spammers to be merited. Some newbies keep on repeating the same question multiple times, which is very wrong. Do you expect merit to be given to people like that?

Opportunities on this forum comes to those who are patient. It is troubling when newbies on the forum are inpatient and they create threads on merits. It does not work that way naturally any new be would receive merits if a community member appraisers their contribution as top quality and something that is helpful to the community. This is where the opportunity comes from as it serves as a positive reinforcement that is the gold behaviour patience quality post and supportive contributions in this forum wood be done more often.

I would rather say just continue to be a forum member and act normally as a forum member while following the listed forum rules.  Interact when it is needed but don't force yourself out of anything because you'll get burned before you achieve whatever your goal in this forum is.  Try to learn from the information given to this forum and if given a chance to help other fellow members by giving answers to their inquiries, do it with a cheerful heart.

The forum is not a place to learn about cryptocurrency and many of us that have learnt alot about cryptocurrency, this is not the major place where we started our learning. Anyone that want to learn about Bitcoin and Blockchain can always do that on a recommended site where there are lot of information to learn about. The forum is just like a place where we share opinions about what we felt about some certain this. If anyone stick here that they want to learn all about cryptocurrency and Bitcoin then they might be making a great mistake. There are sites where we can learn so many things about Bitcoin.

Many newbies need to be aware of the guidelines and rules that govern this forum. We can't just start writing posts without doing any research or having knowledge about it. That is what most newbies need to understand. You can't just come into this forum without making any quality posts and be thinking that you will earn a merit or just rank up. Every rank they see on this forum starts from Newbie, Jr member to legendary we all started from the beginning everything is steady, time, and hard work. If a post is created and someone reads what you post which make sense they will surely earn merit on not to be creating post without having any meaning.

Thanks for the compliments!!!
One thing about love is that it is free. As individuals, we must focus on sharing our opinions, learning opinions and disagreeing constructively and politely if need be; thats the best form to express love in the forum and it would help individuals to have network opportunities as well.

After all, the best way to prepare for opportunities to be available, full of knowledge and also have a good personality

Well, while there is a need to rank up as a result of one being productive in quality posts and earning those required merits, the rank is also a privilege to be able to put on a signature or avatar, but I don't think it's wise if a user considers his only motive on the forum as a way of just earning money. The problem here is that some people's motive is just to earn merit and start earning; as a result, some don't even border on doing quality post but just to phish for merit so they can rank up. I am not saying all this to discourage any newbies, but be more concerned about making quality contributions to the forum and also be more concerned with learning, which is a much more important thing than earning. Any knowledge acquired can always be beneficial to you.

With your statement it looks like you are trying to discourage yourself because you can't be the judge rather just do the needful. Making quality post is just left for the forum member to decide whether is quality or not, so I will advice you not to worry about that but continues with the good work you are doing, it's a matter of time it will surely pay. Don't give up keep making quality post, don't say they are not noticing, they all see everything you post and when time comes merit will start falling like rain.

Yes. Each of us has different motivations. What you say regarding the above is correct and I really appreciate your point of view regarding the above. But, it is also possible that at the same time some users also have to focus on increasing their rankings by creating quality posts in order to access additional benefits without forgetting the core value of exchanging information and ideas within this community.

The point is that unless you are an exceptional poster who is going to earn a lot of merit from day one, it is best to focus on using the forum as you would any other forum where there is no merit to be earned. To see what people are saying and give your opinion, to exchange impressions at the end of the day. As you learn more you will be able to write better and earn more merits.

Opportunities on this forum comes to those who are patient. It is troubling when newbies on the forum are inpatient and they create threads on merits.

Or they break the rules, plagiarising or having alts with whom they exchange merits, things like that. Patience and honesty are key.
