Some statements are not only funny but unfortunate.  This is like a tree saying it will cut its roots. How can a government built on corruption attempt to say they will end corruption in public procurement? People that spent billions of naira feeding school children that are locked down with their parents; a country where animals swallow money; a government that claimed to have lifted 10 million Nigerians out of poverty using recovered loots of Abacha?

I know Nigerians enjoy suiting news, so I guess this man is just telling the people what they want to hear even though that is not planned to happen.

I keep telling people that until we get so angry and decide to shutdown the country and reset it, nothing will change. The army will not carry out coup because their leaders are just politicians in military uniform. The only hope is in the streets... the day the street will be tired, then we can shutdown and start the rebuilding process.

You make sense. See the faces of ministers wey dey this government, so how we think say something good go come out from this Nazareth? No way. We don't need to keep one single hope for this government but to dey do our own hussle. Is just like when you see Foetus Kayamu  ;D wey dem put for aviation minister con begin tell you say corruption go go, go where na.

No be the same Fagbemi wey be tinubu lead counsel for the election matter, him don carry am enter the head as attorney general so that him go fit finish the bribery of judges finish. Them no mean good for this country.

If no be because of the passion and hope wey we get for this country, we for don join others swear for this country. But instead, we go the pray for the progress and betterment of the country. How d country fit change turn better country na one aspect wey we dey focus on. Na why amongst other things, we dey work on the adoption of Bitcoin  in this part of the world

But bribery and corruption is one epidemic that has been infested in our society, for time immemorial now. It will take a lot of attitudinal change vis-a-vis constitutional reforms. I have discovered that, regardless of the nature of corruption, whether in the judiciary, legislature or executive, the ill act is sine qua non the decadence of our attitudes as individuals and citizens. It will therefore require us more holistic efforts to fight this.

Sometimes I dey ask myself how we wan take compete with all these developed countries if we continue with this corruption. Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi believe say the incumbent govt fit put in place measures wey go curb corruption for the negotiation of contracts. Him say wetin dem observe na say majority of the drain on the nation's finance nah the "increasing utilization of litigation and arbitration " which invariably mean say some pipo dey use legal action dey collect contracts and agreements wey from the beginning don dey secured through bribery and corruption.

How you go fit fight corruption when na corruption put you for the office wey you dey so. All this one na eye service, as him dun talk like dat na for news media to carry the headline sample everyway so e go belike d government dey actually do something when nothing dey happen for the country. Contract na way dis governments dey use settle people wey dun work for dem and dem go use am buy their support for reelection so this one no fit stop, the only way to stop all this is to have a free and fair election wey be say anybody wey enter office no go owe it to anyone to appease dem by giving dem contracts. Majority of the contracts been given out are bought or given as a form of favoritism so how you go expecting those wey dem give the contract to do better when dem go first share the contract money when e come and na small portion na wetin go remain and dem go still wan profit form that small money wey remain, federal government and correction na 5/6.

I keep telling people that until we get so angry and decide to shutdown the country and reset it, nothing will change. Yes na abi you no dey notice the injustice wey dey happen immediately any president take power, first him go retire most high military commanders so him own loyalist will get promoted. Everybody dey watch him own back that's why we no dey get all those coup wey dey happen for the other African countries dem as all man wey dey in the position to do that is already benefiting from the government. My own suggestions on how this country go fit move forward on this contract issue as I talk wey bi free and fair election first and if we no for achieve that one then make we use this strategy;
  • If you want any contract, make government pay the money enter escrow and the escrow go be a private company maybe foreign and dem go come give you the contract.
  • You go come use your own money do the work and when you finish am the government go review wetin you do with a taskforce set up of local and foreign experts to make sure the work tight.
  • After them dun review everything, dem go come pay you all your deposit wey dem dun already put for the escrow as dis one go guarantee say government no go play you street as na those private escrow company integrity dey at stake here.
  • When dem use this method, people no go dey joke with contract wey dem give dem because when you do inferior work, the company go hold the funds and dem no go give you until you redo everything and do am well.

Na today wey we start to here say government go curb corruption? What we need is results no be to dey come dey tell us every time say dem go end corruption main while na dem dey even encourage this act because since dem know say people wey dem dey award contract to no dey execute their work why not dey set up committee wey go dey check people wey dem award contract give.

I never see people wey dey so greedy even for something wey go benefit dem and their family but yet they make a mediocre of any contract being awarded to dem just because of their selfish interest.

Olusegun Obasanjo don already tell us say if we must fight corruption then we need to fight the mindset of the individuals because if the mind is corrupt, if you like preach about eliminating corruption from now to 100 years e go still dey as e dey.

Ending corruption can never be achieved in a day and for me; with the level with which corruption has eaten deep in almost every nook and cranny of government, I just believe that ending corruption at this particular time requires force like it needs to be enforce on every sector of government.

Corruption is like a dreadful pandemic that has hindered our growth as a country and with the level of corruption going on in the country now what we need is reform. It's time to remove the bad eggs among the good ones and also there is need to create sensitization programs that will aid individuals in the dangers of involving in corrupt practices as it stagnates the general growth of any developing nation.

It is very touching how we have moved from one corrupt leader to another over the years and these leaders have created lots of schemes and use those schemes as a medium to embezzle government funds. A lots of contacts have been awarded almost on yearly basis to construct roads, build schools, hospitals and health facilities, but is either the jobs are not executed or the are left uncompleted or dilapidated.

It is very important for us to know that our actions and inactions will definitely affect our future generation one way or the other and the earlier with tackle this challenges now, the better for all of us.

Corruption has become like a competition that when someone is tagged of being involved in a corrupt practice they will start to reference their predecessor, that their predecessor did same thing they're doing and no one brought them to book that why are they now judging them. With this mindset of involving in same corrupt practice that the previous government government did, you will see that it is really difficult to fight corruption.

Another thing that weakens the effort to fight corruption is appointing close allies in some areas of government as you might not be able to probe them because they're your friends or your relatives and it will difficult for you to sack them or probe them.

In the fight for a corruption free government, it is important not to let any stone unturned as the betterment of the nation should be of the utmost priority of any citizen of a country irrespective of people that are involved in corrupt practices, whether they're your brothers, your friends, your peer groups and so on, they should be probe for any form of corruption they are involved in.

In conclusion, the growth of our country should be of concern to everyone of us and growth can never be achieved in a corrupt environment so it is the duty of you and I to work together in achieving a corruption free nation.

I cool down read the statement of this attorney general again and I just laugh. Then again, e no sopoz shock me because as talk dey cheap, everyone dey abuse am. When any person enter power the first thing him dey do nah fes secure the future for him family and like @cryptoprenuerbrainboss tok, some fit sack the incumbent ministers then put him men them and now this man get mind dey cap careless. Nah all this pipo go see white call am black but I no blame am because him dey talk in his own interests. If him no talk positively about the govt, him fit lose him job. I just all these people as pawns wey Govt dey use .
 This him yarn for here:
Quote
Equally at the ministerial level, the ministry has developed policy documents and specific mechanisms to ensure transparency and reduce incidence of bad judgment awards.
Just show how much them dey carry citizens play. We all know say them no go fit do am becos person no go wan use e hand spoil were money dey come from. E dey pain me say individuals dey for naija wey dey deserving of these contracts but corruption no go gree make even crumbs reach them and yet them go come out for TV dey make these careless statements. This nah to give us hope or wetin?

Story for the gods. You don see where corruption dey fight corruption or you don see who wey corruption put for office dey fight corruption? No way!  This  na more of a case of pot calling kettle black. All we hear from them is just a public stunt to satisfy their egos as leaders and law abiding citizens of Nigeria. Saying that is another measures to distract the people from thinking they are corrupt but Yes they are correct and corrupt at the same time which makes it obvious for Nigerians to believe them. Since I grew up, I have never seen a situation where an appointee steps beyond his boundaries but rather they play to the tone of their pay master so therefore appointees must do the biddings of their pay master if they want to remain in office otherwise dey would be disgraced out of office with set ups and betrayals which would definitely land them in jail. That is how the system works here.

I keep telling people that until we get so angry and decide to shutdown the country and reset it, nothing will change. The army will not carry out coup because their leaders are just politicians in military uniform. The only hope is in the streets... the day the street will be tired, then we can shutdown and start the rebuilding process.

To me o, taking laws into our hands at this point is very risky remember how our youths were brutally mothered in cold blood during the END SARS protest, I don't agree that the freedom of this country is worth the blood of our innocent and hard working youths as our government has sideline the service of our youths in governance for so long now, youths are not appointed in most public offices across the country instead they prefer old men and old cabal with no or dead brains to handle the affairs of the country.

Shutting down the country can lead to more economic crisis and stagnate our country and our youths will still be the ones to suffer, so for me let's encourage our youths to be more involved in contesting for public offices during elections and there is need to sensitive our youths on the need to contest during elections as this is the only way we can hijack the government and make it better for all

But is it because of the lack of good government that we know have that why all this is happening. Do we believe that putting our hands together to fight corruption will be possible? Because many people's that working for office presently is corruption that brings them there.

If this will scale through, it will be a good fight in the right direction, and that will be a welcome development if actualized, contracts in this country are given to the election financiers, that's why we see sub-standard contraction execution, instead of involving capable hands in contract execution, the contract is been giving to individuals with no track record on project execution because of one reason or the other, this continuous to happen because the same people are constantly seen in the public space of the country governance, I think Nigeria has grown above mere talk, what we need is backing words with actions.

The statement say this government fit end corruption na another big lie be that, because corruption na one menace wey don eat deep into the fibres of this our nation, which can be visibly experience in all sectors, both private & government, and na even government own worse pass. But if there is any person wey we believe for fit end this corruption of a tin na "Goodluck Ebele Jonathan" when he was still on seat as the president, but he finished his tenure, and yet couldn't do not yet a single tin due to how deep this vice has eaten into the fibre of our nation.
Hence, I think the only way Naija fit end this corruption of a tin is only when we stop from being a consuming nation to a producing nation. And when we stop awarding contracts & jobs based on Godfatherism but by merit & the person's ability to deliver perfect work. Then will corruption be brought to the least minimum.

Corruptions can not be stopped totally in Nigeria because it has been more enhanced than any other thing in the country, corruptions can not be stopped but it can be reduced a little bit why because even if a good government come to seat he can only provide good means for the country pipo to start work and moke money and what I want to say is that even if everyone in this country has a lot of money like 10 million naira each there will still be a lot of problems because as for now, part from starting a good business or Japa comot I dont see any other things pipo will want to use there money for and still alot of pipo will still live a lavish life and spend all the money without providing any means for them to start making money for them self.
Some of the reasons why this country is still back word is because a lot of the Nigerian citizens are just putting all their hopes in the government and fail to work with the hands that they have, however Nigeria is a strong country that has good citizens.

Till next 10 years, I no believe say corruption go end for Nigeria, because the system dey very fucked up by the same people wey say dem wan stop am, just imaging wattin dey happen for Bayelsa governorship election the APC candidate don rule more than 5years before and yet em still dey come outside as their candidate, our Nigeria politics dey full of shit, now a days nothing like free and fair election again, so how the system wan take better, every body wey dey come in dey promise us heaven on earth yet na same scam we dey experience after 8 or 4 years. Minus the politician wey we get, Some individual for this country na corruption money dey take dey feed their family, so how e wan take stop? With the way greed and love of money don affect most people for this country, e hard for corruption to stop.
Take for example, the ones wey we know wey no dey for power, how them dey behave? You borrow person money, to pay back, the person no go pay back, that one sef na corruption because if you give that kind person contract to do anything, e go chop the money. Corruption is like a airborne disease in Nigeria  e dey spread anyhow.

Everything person dey do for Naija even for market, you gat shine your eyes make them no use you meet up for life. Even for school, runs still dey, sorting too na another thing. The list of things wey make up corruptions too long. Just that all of us dey focus for government only meanwhile corruption sara for everywhere like MTN.

My dear if to say Naija no get oil, most of the things wey you dey see for no dey, our brain for don reset since. You no know say na free money dey make people lazy? If e be say we no get oil, we for dey think how to make money from other things them. If you go look history how Naija been dey when oil never come, you go see say our people been dey do well for plenty areas like agriculture,  industrialisation even manufacturing. The corruption of the government has pushed its citizens to the wall and has made almost everyone corrupt because anyone aspiring to be a politician now is literarily clear that they are going for the money to steal and if you want to say anything they start making references, they have turned office money to their own personal money, and the citizen are also practicing their own local corruption exploiting people when selling their stocks they have their own share of the blame. also when the election comes majority of people will sell their votes so everyone will their mistakes.

the corruption of our leaders is too much there is nothing more than that, not that other countries are not corrupt but their system still works but here in Nigeria they are corrupt to the extent that they can not be controlled anymore, aside from their huge pay they still don't care about that all they want is too still more money.

Gullible people centered their mind on what our politician wake up to tell citizen without looking back on their failed promises. The word "corruption" have so many soldiers backing it up in every angle that is why any time you fight corruption with wearing strong amour it fight back if not strong kill the fighter. Ending corruption can't work because our leaders is not even ready to put on the amour it take in fighting corruption because they are the foundation. Branches of corruption are so many and you can't eliminate one and leave others because they are too connected to be disconnected.    The sad but true fact is that all these are fallacies. Corruption ends in us as a person first before spreading round through every corners of the country. As long as our leaders still has greed in their heart, then there's sadly nothing anyone can do about it. The country has gone deep into corruption that before each one starts changing, then it's so going to take forever before we get out of it. No matter the scopes they try to use on us to make us fall for their petty lies, we Nigerians are very much wiser and we're just ready to move on with our own notion of them.
They really do not have to cover up their failures with lies, fake prospects and propagandas too. We're too grown for all the crap and the insult we receive from them. If corruption is really ready to end in this country, then that means a whole lot of fake saints will be exposed and I'm so certain that Nigerian politicians are not ready to be in shame. There's nothing we can do, the system is messed up so we have to live in the corruption and they just should keep telling their lies to whoever cares to listen and believe a bit of it.

Our government sabi give us update.
No be everytime this our government go wake up find one story give the public, now how this matter wan take put food for our table? I dey ask them.
Money dey comot money dy enter but them never ask who and who dy pinch the money up and down, if no be still them who go dy do all these things? If them no use that style those contracts no reach them na, then think say we be mumu.
If una don understand this our government una go know say them dy always raise up topic make the masses concentrate on that one make them dy go behind they do wetin go favor them, abeg this one nah another goose chase as you call am OP.

Your are right how helpful is this statement to the citizens of Nigeria, sometimes I feel bad seeing the news headline of Nigeria, when you look at this news you will understand that it was brought to the public notice because of cheap credit the think that they will get from it, but Nigerian are becoming wiser, using this as a tactics won't move any one, when you have made the people to always doubt your governance, how do you expect them to believe such news, so this kind of loophole even exist and they told us, such a shameful act that needed to be ignored, it is high time they stop deceiving themselves and concentrate on the main thing, because I believe that a time shall come when excuses will no longer be tolerated.
