Title: What will you do if your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?

The main reason for government not accepting the Bitcoins is the decentralised nature of the coin. Due to this the government cannot control the Bitcoins or neither can impose tax on it. Hence they not making Bitcoins legal. If you are a crypto user, and government is setting up restrictions for you, then you can directly to P2P transactions to buy or sell the coins. You need not have to rely on the exchanges on your country, and no one can know how many Bitcoins you are holding in your wallet.

If my country do not legalize Bitcoin that doesn't mean I can't legalize it myself by owning it, that is, in as much as doing so is not regarded as a crime or an offense in whichever region I may fine myself. Because one thing you must know is that if a government have decided not to legalize it simply because they want to remain in control over the people's money, I don't think there is anything any individual can do to, and as such the best thing any individual can do is to get a fraction of Bitcoin as an investment asset for the future, in as much as owing it is not regarded as a crime.

I wouldn't be exposed to crypto if they did illegalize BTC from the start.

An internet user however who is interested in BTC or other cryptocurrency will still be buying coins online despite the government making it illegal. There are lots of ways still to buy and earn BTC though, the P2P platforms are growing in numbers so a fan/investor will find ways just like the people who are from countries that banned BTC.

Bitcoin been a decentralised digital currency is why I will involve myself with Blockchain technology even if it's not legalized in my country, I don't care what the government says but they can't force me not to own anything I want, they can only block the access of acquiring Bitcoin the easy way like Banks and centralized exchanges, I will just switch to the decentralized platform and p2p platforms if I have to use Fiat to buy Bitcoin and there is no way they will know.

Years back, Bitcoin was banned in my country and it doesn't bother me, at first it does but I found the right peer to peer exchange and I keep doing my thing with Bitcoin, the only way I will respect ban on Bitcoin is if there will be stop and search of every citizens in the country law, passed down by the government themselves.

I believe that's never going to happen, so what will stop you from having Bitcoin even while it's banned in your country? The government hates what they can't conquer and Bitcoin is what gives me a head over the government control, I will choose Bitcoin over Banks every time.

There's nothing more to do than to be law abiding but we must not fail to say that truth about such action to be against human rights, it could be seen as a violation on people's freedom of choice, at least cryptocurrency is not a ponzi scheme which they could kicked against just as the way they handles other schemes that are fraudulent, maybe it's because of the term cryptocurrency use which comprises of many shitcoins, if bitcoin could be allowed to single handedly identified from other cryptocurrencies, then i see no reason why they shouldn't allow bitcoin but kicked against others, but in such case like this, it's better you play safe by relocating or better buy and hold your asset on a non custodial wallet for long without anyone knowing.

The problem is that when Bitcoin is prohibited in the country there is always a fine or jail term that violators of this ban will face. Since bitcoin is an international currency you can always bypass your country's restrictions and have access to the bitcoin market. You have some options of how you can still transact with bitcoin,  but these options can be risky and untrustworthy. One way is through P2P but you have to be careful not to transact with an undercover police officer. Such country also have a large number of underground illegal exchanges but they are also risky because you can easily lose money. Using exchanges is not an option due to KYC issues and using a VPN can be detrimental.

To avoid issues with law enforcement agents you can move to a neighboring country to carryout your transactions and come back. If you have the opportunity to move permanently to another friendly country, it could be an option. But if you are a long-term bitcoin investor, mastering privacy skills can help you keep your coin secret. But it will be better to be a law-abiding citizen of your country.

Many countries have banned crypto, but they do not have strict rules or punishments for crypto users. For example, in our country, crypto is fully banned, but many people are openly showing and sharing the signals on their YouTube channels or different social media channels. Even the government has banned the use of crypto.

But in some countries, they have banned the use of crypto and transactions directly into the banks, just like the recent news in the UK in which they banned the use of BTC, like, in p2p, directly through banks.

The point is, even though crypto is banned, crypto enthusiasts could still buy BTC, but it became hard for them to buy hardware like hardware wallets, etc. They have to find alternative ways to summarise them in it.

I am not suggesting or asking anyone to do it, I am just stating the facts and knowledge I have gathered through this forum. Aside from that, we can trade or hold BTC if we have relatives in another country where crypto is not banned. Or simply we can do it under the nose of the governments but that's of course risky.

Where I live, bitcoin is banned. That doesn't stop me from using it. If they find out, I will be in trouble for sure but I have kept a low profile that I haven't been caught. There are thousands of people in my country using Bitcoin this way. And there are no hopes for Bitcoin legalization soon. Maybe in the future but not at this moment.
There's a saying that I heard somewhere but can't remember where. It goes like this. If your government is ruining your country, not allowing you to have freedom and you are lacking opportunity, leave your country where you can do business freely. When you become successful, come back to your country to take it all back even more powerfully.

So if I ever get a chance to leave this country, I will take that opportunity and won't come back until BTC is legal here.

OP, if they won't legalize Bitcoin as the mode of payment, as for now Bitcoin is not a legal tendar but there's no ruling on the Ban of Bitcoin trading, Mining or use as a Payment mode. It means currently government hasn't imposed any policy on Bitcoin as far as it's not illegal I'm standing with Bitcoin whenever they will try to Ban Bitcoin we will stand by adopting the Legal procedure to fight in court.

There is a similar kind of confused scenario in many other countries where there is no ruling on the Bitcoin favor a side. But the technological development and the era of adoption there will definitely be definitely in future a ruling in favour of Bitcoin. The case of Never legalizing Bitcoin is not possible at least in those countries where democracy is taken in count even I do recognize that the democracy is just by name still, with that implementation s well there is right of freedom of speech and with that power Bitcoin will be recognized as the Worlds only asset.

What you will do in that kind situation is to hid yourself so that people will not know that you are into cryptocurrency in the country, since government cannot stop you not to use cryptocurrency because is purely decentralized currency and no government or officials has the power to control it. like the way we are doing it in our country, since it was banned by the central bank governor because people now developed more interest on decentralized currency than centralized currency that made them to banned it and still yet we are still using cryptocurrency through P2P to carry out any transactions without the concept of the government or third party. I don't think you have anything to worry about,  if you know how to keep secrets from your friends because the day government will discover that you are using cryptocurrency in the country they will like to empty your wallets and still send you to prison for disobeying the law of the land.

If my country banned bitcoin & I wasn’t able to buy & sell in my country then I’d have to move to live somewhere else. Bitcoin is such a huge part of my life that living in a country that’s hostile to it just would not be possible for me.

If it's still not legalized, that doesn't mean you should be afraid of holding or selling Bitcoin, as long as there's no specific law yet to penalize it. The term 'not legalized yet' and 'declared illegal' are two different things. The former can be considered somewhat positive, as there's still hope it will become legal in the future. However, if they declare it illegal, that means you should avoid violating the law, especially if the penalties are severe.

You can still own Bitcoin, but do so at your own risk.

Also, keep in mind that halving does not automatically present an investment opportunity. There's no guarantee that what we've witnessed in the past will be the same scenario in the future. The market is full of hype, making it riskier, so it's essential to exercise caution.

I don't know what you want people to answer here, that they will break the law and use BTC in a p2p way, then if they are caught they'll gladly go to prison because they are a resolute BTC adopter, or that they are going to leave their jobs and family and move to a country where BTC isn't illegal. C'mon, if BTC is illegal in your country with a jail term attached to it, you shouldn't use it, because once it is banned you cannot use it for the main reason why it was created, which is as a second choice currency.

Currently in my country bitcoin has not yet been legalized by the government, and the federal government went further to place a ban on fiat banks from transacting to any exchange or crypto wallet, and this action made buy and selling of cryptocurrency almost impossible, but because of curiosity, its important and genuine nature I still manage to do some manipulation in other to buy and hold some satoshi. Though I might (or not) be in trouble if I am to be fished out for illegal buying of bitcoin, but that's nothing to worry about because of it anonymous nature(they'll never find out :P). The degree of my love for bitcoin cannot be expressed in words.

That's a good thinking, worthy of a true bitcoiner!

I wouldn't do anything special. I'd continue to hold my bitcoin and spend it p2p, or simply buy gift cards online and redeem those cards in my local stores. That would still be completely legal as long as the gift card seller resides outside my country and is not affected by any bans.

Whether I'd move would depend on the price of bitcoin. If I had 1 BTC worth 25 000 dollars it wouldn't be worth the money to move. I could sit and wait for better days.

There is a difference between being bitcoin is legal, and that bitcoin is banned. there is nothing that prevents or makes bitcoin illegal unless bitcoin is banned in your country or there is a law that imposes penalties for those who deliberate in bitcoin, so you are allowed to use it as an individual and it is better to avoid commercial use.
When bitcoin becomes legal with the existence of a law, you must abide by and pay your taxes. If it is prohibited, it is better that you do not send money from your wallet and wait until it becomes legal, which is another reason that pushes you to hodling.

Disclaimer: This is not a legal advice and does not take legal & tax advice from unknown people from internet.

You are right in saying that Bitcoin has provided so many opportunities, which include trading and also jobs for others who work and get paid in Bitcoin.

Halving, on the other hand, is a time where we expect Bitcoin to attain a new all-time high due to the halve of the miners reward that will result in Bitcoin having more value compared to before. This is an opportunity for people that have strong capital to make money if they invest now and sell after halving, but this should not make you borrow money to invest due to fear of missing out because of the risk involved and how volatile the Bitcoin market is.

One of the main reasons why most countries don't want to accept or legalize Bitcoin is because of its decentralization. The government always wants something they can control, and we all know that they cannot control bitcoin, which is why they don't want to accept it.

I'd probably do what I'm doing right now. Peer-to-peer trading. There are a lot of things we all do, that aren't completely legal, but we do them nonetheless with confidence, because we know we're having our privacy protected. Bitcoin might had been one of these things. (Unless of course you live in a place that is practicing death penalties; in such case, I'd have left the borders either way)

If my country banned bitcoin & I wasn’t able to buy & sell in my country then I’d have to move to live somewhere else. Bitcoin is such a huge part of my life that living in a country that’s hostile to it just would not be possible for me.
I mean, if you're holding a fortune in bitcoin, or if you're an OG, retired Bitcoiner, then it's very reasonable to leave your country. Your country doesn't respect your right to having that fortune.

I will lay low and wait until things change as there is no point on going out of your way of selling your coins on those circumstances as that would be illegal, but if things really got out of hand but the price of bitcoin kept going up and it allowed me to reach a comfortable economic position, then I will probably leave and move in to a country with similar living standards, but which had policies which were nowhere near as restrictive as the scenario you bring forward.

For sure you would really be dealing with it despite of being banned or being prohibited, knowing that in internet then it would really be easy on bypassing on everything on which we know that government couldn't really be able to track us out on the time that we do make use of VPN on accessing on something. It is really just that the main problem on this one is that on the time that there's some verification or KYC on a said platform then on the time that your country is really that included on prohibited countries then you would really be expecting that there would really be some actions
that would happen which they would neither restrict you out or would really be just simply ignore you out. Speaking about dealing basically then you can really still deal and accumulate coins as you want despite of getting banned in your place.

Just make it sure that you wont really make yourself that get caught on the time that you do decide that going against governments rules and regulations since you do know and aware
on what are the things that could possibly happen along the way once you do get caught. If you are planning on just simply holding then you could buy coins but of course
dont make yourself that get tracked or else then it would really be imposing such huge problem.

What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?
I have to do it in an alternative way to other options such as doing P2P with friends or buying secretly so that the government doesn't find out even though there are risks later, but we can't be separated from bitcoin even though the state prohibits it. There is always a way where they can still can own bitcoins.

In fact, I have never heard of someone being arrested and jailed by the government for owning bitcoin, unless he committed another crime then that is possible, but for international transactions and not spending them in his own country it is still said to be safe.

Fortunately, my own country is friendly with bitcoin and recognizes this asset as a commodity, there is nothing that has to be covered because there are legal regulations.

There are not many countries where cryptocurrencies are completely banned. Many countries have certain restrictions on crypto but not a total ban. If Bitcoin is completely illegal in your country I'm sorry but you'd be breaking the law if you go against it. Of course we all know there are ways around it though.

If you can move to another country you should but realistically speaking we know it's not easy to relocate to another country.

It had entirely just made another space and industry and thanks to satoshi because it keeps on growing each year that passes by.

Bitcoin halving is fast approaching, giving many people hope of investment, and making reasonable profit at the end.
That is because that is what we've used to see. The cycle every 4 year every and after halving, the bull run comes in based on what we've seen for several years.

Yet in some countries it is completely illegal. What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?
There is nothing we can do if they declare that illegal in their country because they just don't like the whole features of it. If my country doesn't support it, that's fine as long as they won't ban it. Meaning to say, they're not supporting it either banning it but just neutral.

Bitcoin should be a symbol of freedom and shouldn't be made illegal, as many people rely on it for work, trading, and long term investments. If my government were to make Bitcoin illegal it would be such bad news for me. However, it wouldn't stop me from using Bitcoin because it has become a daily habit for me to watch its developments and read news related to it.

I feel deeply connected to the world of crypto and its community and I wouldn't accept such a restriction easily. As long as I'm not engaging in any illegal activities, I'm determined to continue using it even if it means moving to another country to do so. :)

With bitcoin there is no problem, but depending on the country you must correctly understand its laws and follow them, there is always a legal way to have bitcoin without the need to skip legal responsibilities.

Now, there are very few countries where the legal use does not exist, to be able to access bitcoin according to their jurisdiction, but there are so few countries where the legal or formal vacuum does not work that you should review this aspect carefully.

That is, it may not be legal to pay, for taxes, etc.  but you can hold it as just a digital asset, e.g. ,  so figuring out what illegal means or what is concerned, it can help you.

So, illegal is a broad parameter, investigate it.

you can always find the loophole in the system and work it on your favour. this is the good thing about crypto market, you can move and do your crypto transactions without being known by your government. so it is up to you how you will deal with your crypto transactions according to your government's existing laws and protocols towards crypto. because the truth is, even if your country is not legalising the use of crypto, you can still learn its market, own some and participate on this market. your choice actually.

As long as my country does not ban it, I will continue with my cryptocurrency activities.  Not legalizing Bitcoin does not mean the country is restricting it.  There are countries that are neutral with Bitcoin and yet its citizen are free to transact, use and trade Bitcoin.  It will be a different story if my country banned the use, trading and engagement with Bitcoin and penalized those who are caught violating it.  If that happens then there is nothing I can do but follow the law implemented by the authority.  I do not want to end up in jail just because of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin should be a symbol of freedom and shouldn't be made illegal, as many people rely on it for work, trading, and long term investments. This maybe our perspective but the authority may have a different opinion.  Unless we have the authority to implement things, then all we can do is follow the one who has unless we might found ourselves in trouble.

I feel deeply connected to the world of crypto and its community and I wouldn't accept such a restriction easily. As long as I'm not engaging in any illegal activities, I'm determined to continue using it even if it means moving to another country to do so. :)

But what if engaging in Bitcoin itself is declared illegal by your country?

You won't do anything besides look for P2P routes to acquire bitcoin. No one other than you would be aware of your participation with bitcoin if you acquired bitcoin using P2P.

A friend you tell about your bitcoin collection can decide to report you to the authorities in your state or country, which could be you against the government-given law. That would be an offense all by itself, and you would also lose your Bitcoin holdings.

If using bitcoin is prohibited in your nation, the best course of action is to trade anonymously and not reveal your identity to anyone to show them that you can still use bitcoin for trading despite its prohibition.

P2P most likely. I don't think my funds would be compromised since I already have a mix of a hardware wallet and a locked desktop wallet in one of my spare laptops so those are safe, I rarely hold coins in exchanges so I don't think I'd be hit when they start banning users. It might be hard since I don't know much about p2p, but hey, not much we can do if they block access as well as exchanges recognizing the ban itself.

It's not exactly hard to bypass some geoblocking, especially if they weren't that strictly enforced plus there are a lot of tools that can help you stay anonymous if you want to (and if you know how to). Moving to another country might be an overkill for me though.

If bitcoin is illegal in a country, I don’t think there is anything that can be done about it, but all I know is that they can’t stop their citizens from using bitcoin, no matter how hard they try, their citizens will definitely look for a way privately to make use of bitcoin. I don’t care about breaking rules just to accumulate or make use of bitcoin, since I know what I am doing is not bad, the only people that see it as a bad thing are the government, and we know why they are fighting against bitcoin, we all know they are doing it just because of their own selfish interests.

As long as I'm not engaging in any illegal activities, I'm determined to continue using it even if it means moving to another country to do so. :)
The government is making everyone think that bitcoin is bad. Some people who don’t know what bitcoin is all about now believe that bitcoin is only used for illegal activities, which is very wrong. Bitcoin is neither illegal nor legal in my country, only the central bank of my country is against it, so I guess the government is also against it, but they haven’t just said it in public. The central bank gave all the commercial banks an order to freeze accounts that are linked to bitcoin transactions, but I noticed that after this order was given, it caused panic, but bitcoin has also gained more popularity in my country.

Using a VPN can shield Bitcoin traders from government surveillance. However, the primary obstacle lies in anonymously converting cryptocurrency profits to fiat currency and depositing them in a bank. To overcome this challenge, traders should seek exchanges capable of facilitating peer-to-peer (P2P) fiat transactions. Successfully achieving this can effectively mitigate the impact of government bans.

What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?
As long as owning Bitcoin won't lead to the jail, I will try to invest in Bitcoin. Sometimes, Bitcoin status may be not legal yet in a country, but the government probably won't give punishment for the people who own Bitcoin. They only try to remind the people that Bitcoin is a high risk investment. It ever happened in my country.

But I have no idea to buy Bitcoin if owning Bitcoin will get a punishment, especially to be jailed. I will wait for the time when Bitcoin is legal, or I will move to another country. I think these are only 2 options that I can do.

Luckily, Bitcoin investment is legal in my country. So, I don't need to worry as OP described.

Can the government really do something about it, though? There are countries where Bitcoin is illegal. Have they effectively deprived their citizens of owning Bitcoin? No! A US congressman once acknowledged that Bitcoin is an "unstoppable force" and that "governments cannot stop this innovation, and those that have tried have already failed."[1] This is the power of decentralization.

Anyway, the usefulness of Bitcoin transcends "very good opportunities, job opportunity, trading opportunity and lots more for many people to earn money." As a matter of fact, the essence of this technology isn't about making money. Rather, it is about freedom in money. While many of us are indeed making money out of Bitcoin's price increases, this shouldn't make us forget that Satoshi didn't create it to be just an investment opportunity. It is a solution to a real-life problem.

My answer will of course be short, namely, I will not invest in crypto if the government in my country prohibits it and in my opinion obeying the rules is a good thing and in my opinion looking for profits is not only from BTC, of course there are many other businesses.

but I am very lucky because the government in my country allows its people to invest in BTC, although it is not permitted to use BTC as a means of payment.

This is a sad truth, we can force anyone to use Bitcoin just like we can't force some governments to legalize cryptocurrency in their jurisdiction.
What we can do to help Bitcoin and it's community is just continue to use it and spread good words about cryptocurrency without breaking such rules, so you need to understand the rules/regulations of your country before doing it so you are sure you are not breaking any law.

Well the problem is whenever trying VPN, there's a bad connection into some countries that could affect investing and trading like for example when doing a transaction, if you have a bad connection it could be voided cause you to lose more funds. P2P wouldn't be an issue as there's a lot of platform that could handle this kind of transactions and as long you have converted it into fiat for sure government couldn't traced and do a thing about your funds. Use VPN into countries that are capable to handle the signal from yours, cause sometimes it might look good as the bar is green, but if you used that country to connect, it would definitely lag.

The term legalize is different from banned and prohibited so you can still use it even if it is not legalized. There are tons of countries that are in this situation that are not legalized and also not banned, so you can continue to use it.

In a country that is banned people secretly own Bitcoin but they aren't telling anyone just to be safe and no one can track you if you are just staying quiet. Even if this happens to me I will continue using it and just be cautious to let anyone know about it.

When Bitcoin is prohibited, there will always be a way to acquire it, despite legal restrictions. Personally, once I realized that Bitcoin could serve as an alternative for future savings, I would purchase a small amount of Bitcoin to participate in all the excitement surrounding the cryptocurrency world.

This is a risky choice, but from any perspective, I am not harming the nation. Therefore, I will still feel innocent even if the country forbids it. Moreover, the quantity I purchase will not influence the nation's economy or the government's sovereignty as the strongest institution in the country. I continue to view it as a reasonable act for a citizen who is slightly deviating.

Bitcoin might be illegal or restricted in several countries but there are still many ways to get around these prohibitions. There are peer-to-peer gray markets where you can trade Bitcoin in-person or online. You can also use bitcoin to purchase gift cards or prepaid debit cards. There have not been many cases of users getting arrested for using or trading bitcoin. These laws are meant to discourage people from using Bitcoin but since they cannot control it it's difficult to actually have any meaningful enforcement.

if government regulations make Bitcoin Illegal, it will be difficult to see Bitcoin growing in that country. but that doesn't mean you can't have it. Several countries have also declared Bitcoin Illegal as a means of payment. but Bitcoin becomes Legal when it is only held as a crypto asset ownership.

Government regulations regarding the illegal status of Bitcoin cannot actually 100% restrain people from owning Bitcoin. As other members have mentioned, there are ways to still have Bitcoin even if there are no legal crypto exchanges in your country.

What can I do? there is nothing but to accept it and the government will always have a reason why it is banned, maybe because they don't understand enough about innovation and only get information that is not appropriate so they think it is dangerous and needs to be banned. If a country bans cryptocurrencies it means they also ban Bitcoin, and actually that's not a problem because as long as you are connected to the internet you will still be able to make transactions but only P2P, and can still trade on foreign exchanges, so a ban from the state will not be able to completely stop us not transacting.

Nothing we can do, we can not against the government law. What can i do is keep my Bitcoin in my non-custody wallet at home. I don't want to save it in an online wallet where the government can track and confiscate my assets. And maybe I need some mixer just to make sure my asset cannot be traced. Actually, if we own Bitcoin, our treasure is safe from everything. Maybe if the government needs our assets for war expenses, they couldn't just take it away because they don't know what we own.

However, it's important not to risk too much of your money in this, as the government could potentially take actions that are detrimental to Bitcoin owners in countries where Bitcoin is not legalized. The government might treat it as something that threatens the ownership of purchased crypto assets.

Making small purchases is not a problem, and I, too, will do this. However, as the amount you own grows larger, it becomes increasingly risky if the government detects it. Always ensure your safety.

I have to separate the expression regarding the hope of investing because of the halving from the question you asked in the last line of the topic.

Bitcoin is a very useful thing to many people. It has provided very good opportunities, job opportunity, trading opportunity and lots more for many people to earn money for their essentials of life. Bitcoin halving is fast approaching, giving many people hope of investment, and making reasonable profit at the end.
I can quite agree with the statement that Bitcoin is a very useful thing for everyone because Bitcoin can provide good opportunities for everyone who believes in it. But when it comes to investing in Bitcoin, I don't think it's solely because of the halving in Bitcoin, because investors who want to invest their money in Bitcoin can do so at any time without having to wait for the halving. Although the Bitcoin halving is getting closer, it could provide a slight opportunity to gain maximum profits if the price increase is more significant. But in general, investing in Bitcoin can be done whenever we want without having to rely on whether there is a halving or not.

Quote
Yet in some countries it is completely illegal. What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?
If your country or other countries still consider Bitcoin to be illegal, you don't need to publish more about Bitcoin to protect yourself from countries that may not really understand Bitcoin. This way you can continue to find and store your own Bitcoin quite safely, meaning it will not prevent you or anyone else who wants to use Bitcoin to invest or trade. Because in life you can still use fiat as usual without having to act in rebellion against the government.

We have to understand that there is no way anyone can block decentralised Bitcoin, the governments can only control the centralised crypto and there exchanges. Its also a kind of blessing in disguise that since you cant convert your Bitcoin to fiat they are accumulating in your wallets. Meanwhile one can figure out how to use them effectively without getting caught by the government.

UK doesn't count. They are not in EU.

You can have Bitcin, besides there are many ways we can own Bitcoin without having anything to do with the government.

However, if one day the government takes action against this, I don't think it means we have to move countries either, because there are several things we can do without the government being able to detect Bitcoin ownership.

Not all countries friendly and legalize bitcoin as payment currency transaction but during Bitcoin not banned yet as investment assets seems enough with some countries support. In my country Bitcoin still illegal payment transaction but our government not prohibited with Bitcoin using for investment assets and our way to earn profit trough trading. I don't think serious problem when bitcoin not allowed for payment currency transaction because we can trade, invest and withdraw cryptocurrency assets trough Bank account without get problem yet. Not all countries have positive viewed with bitcoin because they loss controlling when bitcoin price can drop and up drastically make them not allowed for bitcoin as payment currency transaction.
Need to respect with all countries regulation about bitcoin, we don't have push for making bitcoin as legal payment transaction due they have give space for trading and invest assets in bitcoin.

I'd still use it. My country is open from any cryptocurrency in this present, but even if they will eventually prohibit the use of any cryptocurrency including bitcoin, I'd still use it.
Bitcoin in the first place is an international currency, therefore, I can still use it as a currency for international transactions or keep it as store of value. Basically, I could still use it the way I am using it right now. Therefore, even if a country would not legalize the use of cryptocurrency, you could still use it regardless. Just don't get caught, otherwise you'll face with legal charges lol.
Pretty sure the government can't ban all international crypto related exchanges, plus we have hundreds of VPNs we can use.

I don't think this is a current issue in 2023 because cryptocurrency is on the verge of exploding and reshaping the world, much like the internet did. Even countries that initially resisted it, such as China, Russia, and India, have had to reconsider their stance to avoid falling behind. Despite bans, people in these countries have continued to show interest in and invest in crypto. Russians and Indians, in particular, have consistently been among the most interested and invested crypto enthusiasts. While it might be more challenging if your country restricts crypto transactions, there are now numerous alternative methods available if you take the time to explore them.

Bitcoin don't have to be legal or accepted by the country because when it's still in grey area, you can do anything and you will not break any rule. This also give advantage where capital gain you earn from Bitcoin will not be taxed.

If Bitcoin is completely illegal in my country, I will try to protect my privacy and become anonymous as possible, so they will not know if I buy and hold Bitcoin.

I would educate and advocate instead. I'd run workshops, webinars, and public discussions to spread the word about cryptocurrencies' and blockchain's potential upside. Teaming up with other enthusiasts, we'd create decentralized networks for person-to-person crypto transactions encouraging people to use them despite legislator's bans. Finally, I'd have a dialogue with law-makers showing proofs of how cryptocurrency adoption results in more financial inclusivity and innovation. My goal would be to fill in the gap between knowledge and regulations asking regulators in my country to become more crypto-friendly.

I still remember, many years ago when bitcoin was not as popular as it is today and most governments banned bitcoin, but that did not stop people from investing in bitcoin. Today, when many countries have accepted and legalized bitcoin, it makes no sense to ban bitcoin in the remaining countries.

In a circumstance like that, I am the only way I can imagine it being possible. I can use a P2P transaction first using a VPN and BISQ. I have to utilize it; I have no option. Although to some it may be against the law, I believe that as long as you exercise caution, stay true to who you are, and don't just trust anyone, there won't be any negative consequences to what you're doing here.

Second, if there is a neighboring nation that accepts cryptocurrencies, it is preferable to migrate there and abandon the nation where it is illegal. However, if you lack the capacity, I am actually forced to do the action I previously described.

Bitcoin does not need to be legalized in such a way that some country recognizes it, because it is designed precisely in such a way to allow anyone to own and use it, regardless of what a country, its prime minister or president thinks about it. It is true that there are some countries that have banned Bitcoin, as well as the fact that those same countries also ban many other things that allow people to live freely.

Therefore, I think that for the people who live in these countries there are much bigger problems than Bitcoin being banned, and anyone who wants to have Bitcoin has to take a risk and break the law, or think about whether it's time to move to another country that doesn't have politicians who they behave in such a restrictive way.

If you count the number of countries that have banned Bitcoin and crypto, they are only a few of them as compared to the number of other countries where it is been recognized, legal and alegal by status, and the fact that these minor countries ban it doesn't stop crypto from functioning, it has always grown without them and will continue to do and besides, there are many people who still do it despite the ban on the legality but not having that freedom to exercise pose some risk on them.

My opinion is this, I don't have the numbers of people that trade crypto and the level of job opportunity outreach that crypto has created but I can say for sure that less than half of people in crypto do trading, more often than not, they prefer to hold it than been traded due to the volatility, I still think people care less of what the status say about bitcoin and other coins, they will buy and hold and protect their seed phrase and private keys without the need to show the public they hold bitcoin, is as simple as that. If their investment matures, they can sell using P2P either through a centralized platform or a decentralized one without having to fear the consequences.

Even my country banks are not accepting cryptocurrency transactions yet we the highest cryptocurrency investment country in Africa. So if your country is not accepting/adopt bitcoin then you can switch to p2p, I don't think no country in the world the individuals are not using bitcoin even though the country ban it they smart guys are investing in it and making transactions through p2p system. I am not sure that any country in the world is totally out of bitcoin, that is they are not using bitcoin at all. It is not possible, though bitcoin is still at the early stage but it has gone viral. Some countries that are not using bitcoin is because the state government is afraid that bitcoin would take over their country Currency, that is bitcoin would over throw the Fiat currency because the force the youth is using bitcoin is higher than the Fiat currency in term of investment so they have to stop it from circulating in the country yet the still use another means to use the coin.

One way is through P2P but you have to be careful not to transact with an undercover police officer.
You are right, but investigation must be done before trading with anyone when making use of p2p, and you have to avoid using different people, just get one reliable person and always use the person frequently. If you keep on changing people, you might end up falling in the wrong hands one day, so just get someone who is reliable and always use the person whenever you are using p2p.

To avoid issues with law enforcement agents you can move to a neighboring country to carryout your transactions and come back.
Are you serious about your opinion? How will you keep on going to a neighboring country whenever you want to make a bitcoin transaction? That's one of the worst suggestions I have seen, so whenever I want to make a transaction, I will have to spend money to leave my country. What if bitcoin is also illegal in my neighboring country? then i will have to pay money to fly to any country where bitcoin is legal just because I want to make a transaction. I don't even think that will be possible because it's a complete waste of money and time.

If you have the opportunity to move permanently to another friendly country, it could be an option. But if you are a long-term bitcoin investor, mastering privacy skills can help you keep your coin secret. But it will be better to be a law-abiding citizen of your country.
I don't think I can move to another country just because I want to make use of bitcoin. How will I relocate permanently with my family members just because I want to make use of bitcoin? I know there are different ways I can access bitcoin, even if it's illegal in my country, but I know it will be done in a hidden way. If I am making use of bitcoin in my country, that does not mean I am not a law-abiding citizen, because I know there is nothing bad in using bitcoin, the government is just making people think that bitcoin is bad, but we all know the reason why the government is against bitcoin.

Bitcoin enthusiasts does not stop there when your country does not legalize bitcoin. Continue your routine of accumulating more bitcoin, but stay being low key and private so that the people around will not be suspicious that you are into bitcoin. Bitcoin has its anonymity feature so I don’t think it will be a problem. If you decide to withdraw and use your bitcoin as a payment, then just go into a country where bitcoin is widely legal and is free to use so you can also enjoy your fruits of investment.

Bitcoin is a very useful thing to many people. It has provided very good opportunities, job opportunity, trading opportunity and lots more for many people to earn money for their essentials of life. Bitcoin halving is fast approaching, giving many people hope of investment, and making reasonable profit at the end. Yet in some countries it is completely illegal. What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin and your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?

The main reason for government not accepting the Bitcoins is the decentralised nature of the coin. Due to this the government cannot control the Bitcoins or neither can impose tax on it. Hence they not making Bitcoins legal. If you are a crypto user, and government is setting up restrictions for you, then you can directly to P2P transactions to buy or sell the coins. You need not have to rely on the exchanges on your country, and no one can know how many Bitcoins you are holding in your wallet.
Right. These exchanges are regulated so never buy or sell from them so you won’t be caught by the government. But never be afraid to continue what you have started because for sure a lot of peer to peer exchanges are out there for bitcoin transactions. Just never disclose to anyone that you have bitcoin holdings so the people won’t be eyeing on you. Even if the government decides to legalize bitcoin, still it’s a safe thing to keep it to yourself that you have bitcoin in your account so can avoid from being the target of scammers.

There is always gonna be a way out, for instance in some countries, some gambling sites are banned or restricted, and yet some citizens in those countries still find an alternative way to bypass the government ban on these sites and get themselves involved in betting.
If the restrictions are much in such a way that it will be difficult for me to do any transaction, as a crypto Enthusiast I will consider moving to a crypto-friendly country like El Salvador, on the other hand, in a worst-case scenario if P2P isn't available too I have friends and families that are living abroad I can use to carry out my transactions, I will send them my local fiat currency to purchase some Bitcoin and send to my wallet.

Bans on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies may exist in some countries, but they pale in comparison to the widespread acceptance. It would be like attempting to stop the tide with a broom. Blockchain technology's decentralised design works against the centralization of power.

Now, you're right about the debate between trading and holding. The "hodl" culture has taken off in the crypto community. People are less prone to short-term trading now that they see the long-term possibilities. Consider the mindset of the first Bitcoin users; they werent interested in making a quick buck, but in building a decentralised monetary system. Many people prefer P2P exchanges and choose to keep their holdings secret, which further increases the system's security and anonymity.

I mean in my country Bitcoin and cryptocurrency weren't really legal but at the same time it wasn't illegal to buy or have a transaction on cryptocurrency, In my opinion since cryptocurrency most of it like Bitcoin was centralized there wasn't really any need for it to be legalized since it is just like the internet it will still going to operate as long as there is a community. In the past year cryptocurrency wasn't really that popular and in my country there are probably a only few people who invest in it and believe in it, most people identify cryptocurrency as a scam because it is always involved in illegal transactions like what they see on the news, but today it is already adapted by a lot of companies and even banks here in my country support cryptocurrency. So without any legalization cryptocurrency is gonna continue to adapt in a lot of countries and in my opinion there is no need for it to be legalized, I mean government might just do something about it, trying like taxing it or something like that which is a bad thing for people who invest on it.

I know that my country will never legalize Bitcoin, the reason is because Bitcoin is decentralized and the government will continue to maintain fiat money as a legal means of payment. But I don't care about the government's decision, I will legalize it myself, in my own way and without asking permission from the government first.

I have the right to determine my own destiny in facilitating foreign transactions and online shopping using Bitcoin. So far I have benefited a lot from Bitcoin even though the government in the country I live in only considers Bitcoin as a commodity asset, I have made many transactions using Bitcoin when shopping online. The government never knows about any activity I do because it is private and there is no need to use third-party services.

I could not think about leaving my country just for this sake. Therefore, I have nothing to do but to stay away if that is illegal in my country. Can't force myself to invest when it is against the law unless I want trouble but I want peace.

It is very unfortunate for those people who live in a country where there is no freedom to invest in Bitcoin. It was indeed a great opportunity for them but it was hard to go against the government and suffer the consequences. And such an opportunity becomes hopeless.

I am a big fan of Bitcoin but in my country Bitcoin is not legal In my country if anyone uses bitcoin openly then legal action is taken against him and the government has announced that if anyone suffers financial loss through bitcoin then the government will not be responsible for it and central Bank is not ready to compensate for it. On the contrary, legal action will be taken against him. Yet in my country HUGE number of people trade and hold bitcoins. Since Bitcoin is a decentralized currency, even if the government tries hard, it cannot stop the use of Bitcoin.
It is very admirable that you continue to use Bitcoin despite the lack of Bitcoin legalization in your country. But as the use of bitcoin is increasing day by day and big companies have started accepting bitcoin and since huge number of people are involved with bitcoin in your country even though bitcoin is illegal in your country, it is expected that bitcoin will be legalized in your country in the future. Then you will be the most expert person in the country who will know about Bitcoin and make big things with Bitcoin in the country. good luck for you bro

BTC has always been p2p electronic cash right from the time it was created, it was created for transactions to happen between peers, but without any central authority as an intermediary or third party. By the way what does the "giveaway" in your post mean, i don't understand what you mean, but take note that there are a lot of scam platforms in the network and if you are promised coins in any giveaway but you are asked to send funds to them first, then it is a scam.

it is unlikely that the majority of governments in the world will legalize bitcoin because we know that the nature of bitcoin is decentralized and anonymous, and governments hate it because they cannot monitor and tax transactions made by users. not to mention that bitcoin has various features that have the potential to disrupt the distribution of fiat and the government will not allow that to happen.

actually it's not a problem for me. as long as there are p2p platforms and internet access, it doesn't matter to me whether the government wants to legalize it or not. even though it's a little more complicated because i have to circumvent government monitoring, that's not a problem for me.

There are more countries where bitcoins have no status or an illegal status than a legal status, and from many of those countries, there are still forum users from there. Smart investors do not care about the opinion of the government on bitcoins because they know the merits. There are ways to keep your activities of having bitcoins secret from the government and avoid punishments. Many people have already opted for that option than choosing not to invest in bitcoins because they understand the regrets that will follow for choosing to follow the government whose decision is sourced from biased opinions.

I also belong from a country where  Bitcoin/ cryptocurrencies is illegal. Regularly we have warnings or notifications on our phones and posters in various places that trading cryptocurrency is illegal and you may go to jail.
Still, a survey showed that around 4 million people in our country are connected to this crypto currency world. Currently I can not remember the news source. However, 4 million people is not a small number. So I think here if one follows the privacy protocol and some tricks then I think even if Bitcoin is illegal in your country you can work with it, but you may not get the full facility that if Bitcoin is legalized. In this case I think  if in your country Bitcoin is illegal  even then if you want to work with it  First of all  you have to learn the  how to maintain privacy.  You can also get help from your local community if you want.

It's pretty simple op. VPNs! Don't use free VPNs. Instead, subscribe to a high quality paid VPN service which will help you stay anonymous online and dabble with all cryptocurrencies without any issues.

TOR is another useful alternative in my opinion. World governments cannot stop BTC no matter how hard they try and they know it.

Another prove that you can't ban bitcoin. You can only make it harder for people to do what they want and a government that does it becomes hated.
Bitcoin gives us all a right to vote. If you held bitcoin for a few years you have enough money to go where you want and take your money with you. They can't stop it or take it away like they do with cash in China and many other countries. You can go where you want and move your wealth with you to a country that appreciates you.
They say it's voting with your feet. They don't want you here, so you move and pay taxes somewhere else. Jack Mallers moved to El Salvador because the US Gov. was being difficult, you can do the same and it doesn't have to be that country. Bitcoin isn't banned in most of the world, so there's a lot to choose from.

In my country, perhaps initially there were still people who were hesitant to invest in Bitcoin because they thought Bitcoin was a scam, fraudulent and unsafe. So finally the government made a policy so that Bitcoin and other crypto could be traded legally as commodity assets only.

Bitcoin as an asset today can be used for investment to become rich in the future. But in my country, bitcoin is illegal if payment transactions use bitcoin, payments must still use fiat. Now in my country there is no need to hesitate to buy and sell Bitcoin, because it is regulated by the government. So investing in Bitcoin is safe, legal and trustworthy.

In the country I live in, cryptocurrency isn't legalize but it is also not frowned upon by the government. It exist and doesn't have any legal restrictions and acknowledgement as well. Hence, if nothing changes I wouldn't really mind at all since so far it is working for me. So I honestly do not mind the current status of cryptocurrency in our country. So far, in my years of holding and investing, I have yet to face a problem regarding the government as there is no illegal act in holding or investing crypto. Perhaps in a different country where there is a law mandating it, it will be much different.

Fuck any sort of communist nation.  By not allowing bitcoin to be legal in your nation scream one main thing "we are scared of bitcoin and what it means to our own fiat currency, we understand it's decentralized nature goes against what we want, therefore we aren't going to allow it to be used in our country".

Bitcoin scares the powers to be.  So I would continue to buy/sell/trade OTC or via decentralized exchanges.

Instead of illegalizing it, I believe the government should use it to increase transparency in government funds.

If someone wants to use or invest in cryptocurrencies in a nation where they are not yet legal, they should think about the potential legal repercussions and speak with legal professionals to learn about the particular risks and implications of doing so. if they feel that the legalisation of cryptocurrencies would improve the economy or society of their nation, they may push for changes in the regulatory environment through peaceful and legal ways.

If my country banned bitcoin & I wasn’t able to buy & sell in my country then I’d have to move to live somewhere else. Bitcoin is such a huge part of my life that living in a country that’s hostile to it just would not be possible for me.
This can be the only solution of buying bitcoin by moving to another location but this can be a very difficult for one because relocating to another country or town means starting life all over, getting a new job. This  won't be easy for people who already have business or a job which is their source of income to afford bitcoin.

It won't be easy to own a bitcoin in country bitcoin is banned because people who even have bitcoin to sell will be so private about  it. In country where bitcoin is banned it is either to buy through reliable person that is related to you from another country

Now I can only speculate, because I prefer to solve problems as they arise.

Here are some possible solutions:
- continue to use the bitcoin despite this, because it is almost impossible to track it unless you convert btc into a traditional monetary system and maintain confidentiality measures.
- move to another country that is more cryptocurrency-friendly.
- don't use the bitcoin in the host country, but when traveling to bitcoin friendly countries, use it. That is, use it periodically and where possible.

You just have to be careful, if there are penalties against anyone found using cryptocurrency or Bitcoin. In my country for example, where Bitcoin is restricted, but still you can see my country among countrys with highest Bitcoin transactions.

Yes bitcoin has make the life of individuals easy as there are limited jobs opportunities and everyone cannot get the desire job so for this purpose people move towards online earning and prefer bitcoin investment. If bitcoin was not here then during such inflation people will have loss their hopes of living a better life but bitcoin gives a new thoughts of earning to needy people.

I assume that as compared to the previous halving the desire for future halving is more because people was not interested that time in bitcoin but now as it become more successful people move more closer towards its investment.

If there is banned on bitcoin investment then one should not be a part of it because we should be sincere with our country. I think there should be nothing more important than person's loyalty and dignity.

I don't really comply with the rules implemented by the government, so when there is a ban on using bitcoin then I don't care about that.

in my own country our government is unable to ban bitcoin because the number of bitcoin investors continues to increase so they agreed to directing bitcoin as a type of digital commodity investment asset, that too with the target that they can get tax money from it, the government always finds it difficult to refuse profits lol.

Our country is good with cryptos and if ever they will not legalize it, that's okay. I'm already here and have been in the market for so long, that they might just stop all the crypto services coming from our local exchanges and we will have a hard time converting cryptos into our local money.
If that is so, I'll find the markets that are not commonly known by them because whether we like it or not, there are these exchanges physically that do really exist where people can just exchange each other and trade on their own without being regulated. And a sad thing is that our government's laws don't have that much teeth.

It looks like you're getting lost in "what if" and "maybe". These ideas are nice, but they're not really one-size-fits-all. You could pretend to be a sneaky Bitcoin user, a digital nomad looking for a Bitcoin safe haven, or a user who only uses Bitcoin when they move to Bitcoin-friendly areas. They made some smart moves, but each one came with its own problems.

Worrying about the unknown legal situation is normal, but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. Bitcoin is still moving forward for now. Its always a good idea to have a plan (or three), but lets not worry just yet, shall we? Do not close your eyes, do not rule out any possibilities, and be ready both good and bad opportunitues. I think the fact that governments accept bitcoin is something we should be surprised by instead of being surprised when they ban it. I also believe that Satoshi could have predicted this because, from the beginning when he created bitcoin with its decentralized nature, it was completely against what the government wanted. And Satoshi created bitcoin for us, not for the government, so I think it doesn't matter too much whether the government accepts it or not. Because even if they ban it, we still use it and it keeps getting stronger and stronger. Banning bitcoin is almost impossible and it is easy to see that many governments that once banned bitcoin have now accepted it.

Bitcoin has become the most popular virtual currency in today's world that everyone uses as their wealth. I see Bitcoin as a future asset because it will definitely help change my life. Bitcoin is very useful for people in many countries of the world accept all payments in Bitcoin, from shopping for goods to food to clothes, they pay with Bitcoin. Moreover Bitcoin is one of the digital currency of the present age which is very profitable to invest and investors are more and more attracted towards Bitcoin. Moreover, Bitcoin is not legal in many countries, especially in the country where I live. But still I am related to bitcoin and transacted by bitcoin, many people use this bitcoin currency from my country and transact easily. If a country legalizes Bitcoin then the economic position of that country changes and they can improve their economic position with Bitcoin in the future. And if they make bitcoin illegal in that country they will not be economically prosperous but they will be economically backward it is the responsibility of a government to legitimize bitcoin in its country. In that case if the government doesn't give Bitcoin legality then there is nothing for the people of our country to do the same way we are using Bitcoin in the future.

You just go on as normal, because nothing can stop you to convert those bitcoins into cash, when you go to countries where it is legal. I will buy a lot of coins over a long period and then go on an extended "Bitcoin" holiday ..to a country where Bitcoin are legal.

I will then use those coins to buy stuff and to pay for services and my country will not see any of the taxes that are paid on those coins. (VAT in some countries)

Imagine buying an expensive Rolex watch in another country and then selling it, once you get back to your own country.  ;)

What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?
There is nothing much you as a person can do if your country refuse to legalize bitcoin, all you can do is to depend on p2p.

I mean, you could earn your bitcoins from what ever means available to you, whether it be trading, investing, staking, whatever, but when you convert some of those bitcoins to cash(fiat) which is spendable in your country, you have to make use of p2p to sell those bitcoins..

It's the same thing we in Nigeria are doing today, since bitcoin has not yet officially legalized in the country, we depend on p2p to cash in on our bitcoins.

The first thing is that the government of my country did not accept cryptocurrencies and if a miracle happens and the government of my country accepts cryptocurrencies then I will do nothing because I investing in Bitcoin at this time, and if Bitcoin will be legal then I am also investing in Bitcoin. :)

It's pretty simple op. VPNs! Don't use free VPNs. Instead, subscribe to a high quality paid VPN service which will help you stay anonymous online and dabble with all cryptocurrencies without any issues.

VPNs only provide the illusion of online anonymity, whether they are free or require a subscription, the fact is that they keep logs and will give away your real IP address if they receive a request from the authorities.

TOR is another useful alternative in my opinion. World governments cannot stop BTC no matter how hard they try and they know it.

TOR is useful and a good way for online privacy, but it is far from the fact that users of the same can completely hide if they do something very bad - considering that there are those who have the resources to identify those who use TOR. In addition, some repressive regimes such as the Chinese one can block TOR, although even then with some additional actions it may be possible to use the same.

For now p2p will be the only solution regarding on that situation since we cannot do anything if there decision is done and they declare crypto as illegal asset. Maybe next time on next election day we should seek for innovative people that can possibly adopt bitcoin so that by their help we can freely use bitcoin on anywhere we want especially on big merchants on our country. For now its hard to disobey their order especially if they ban the access of crypto and for sure with this law I may stop using it since I don't want to violate the law of my country.

For now although we are not yet on legalization phase of crypto in our country but at least there are so many option to choose on where we can cashout our earned bitcoins.

As long as the government doesn't have control of all online transactions, we can still use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
In fact, many countries don't legalize crypto but wondering why many people are still active and continue trading. Well, good thanks that crypto is not banned in my country even though it was not legalized yet as we still have the chance to own crypto. Legalization is not possible in any country when leaders don't just think about themselves but also the benefits of their people. Greediness and lack of knowledge are some reasons why some countries ban and do not legalize crypto.

I will still be able to buy bitcoin for cash and store it in my decentralized wallet. No one will ever know that I am connected with bitcoin.

-snip-
Greediness and lack of knowledge are some reasons why some countries ban and do not legalize crypto.
For example, China has banned Bitcoin and it's not really allowed.
That might fall into a more extreme category because China wants to control everything and must have access to all the privacy of its people.

Bitcoin is decentralized and China cannot enter the zone fully.
Those who try to use Bitcoin will be detected because all economic flows are monitored.
But who knows if users are smarter by using various ways to avoid detection?

But look at the surprising fact, the more it is banned, the more people use it.
China remains the largest crypto market in East Asia for transaction turnover and ranks fourth in the world.
This has been the case even as its government has outright banned its use in the country over the past few years.

well there will always a side market with people to exchange goods and services, cost nothig to ask "Do you accept bitcoin?" but that would be the last option, also if you offer some service, you can also ask "Do you pay in bitcoin?"

At this point, who is willing to giveaway their coins? Last week i buy something with bitcoin here in the forum, but i've checking around my city and i don't see any bitcoin signal, that is really sad.

Since  the government can't control or have full authority on cryptocurency and Bitcoin. The only way out is through P2P, you have to keep a very low profile  on your transactions and the way  you spend your money cause you will be mentioned and the government will want to know your source of income, you need to be carefull and know the people you introduce Bitcoin to and how to manage it in your country because if you are begin caught, you will be arrested and all your accounts will be blocked. The  joy about Bitcoin is that it is decentralized digital currency all you have to do is electronical, computing and technological. It is not manual and so it is easy for you to be a Bitcoin holder, buyin, selling and investing also transactions and identities are hidden even your financial transactions ,not easily assessed by the governments so if not legalized in your country you can still continue your businesses.

    Very useful indeed!
And the usefulness that crypto has to offer is as follows:

    • Allows us to enjoy the financial freedom of being our own banks and live maintenance-free and keep all profits realized fo holding
    • Skipping the hurdle of KYC when it comes to paying for good and services
    • With crypto middlemen are cut off which means cheaper goods and services are available

    The list is endless....

Yet in some countries it is completely illegal. What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?

Bitcoin started off without regulation and most of our governments ignored it thinking it would die a natural death...

Over 10 years have gone by and now it's a force to reckon with and the government now wants to play a part by regulating it..hell no, with or without regulation, the revolution will happen and it's team crypto all the way!![/list]

The truth is, bitcoin being fully legalised in a country is far from happening. There are many factors or things to consider before it becomes legal and is used as a currency, just like what we use to date. Number one factor is that the government has no power over it; in fact, no one's price will change depending on whether they are holders, traders, or miners that the government can't control. Second, bitcoin volatility requires a lot of study on how they will use bitcoin as a currency to pay on a daily basis, among other things. But even if bitcoin is not legalised, we can still buy and trade bitcoin with 3rd parties' exchange platforms, and as time passes, bitcoin is slowly being used as a currency. Many banks offer crypto services, establishments, and businesses that support crypto currency. So even if it is too far yet, it is possible that crypto currency will be the future currency.

as long as people can have Bitcoin to store and there are no regulations from the government to imprison people with Bitcoin ownership. the impact will not be large on the market price situation. Indeed, so far we can see that only a few countries accept Bitcoin as a means of payment or transaction. but most of them do not prohibit Bitcoin ownership. Some bans may be related to crypto or mining projects in their countries that reportedly use too many resources.
today, more people are holding Bitcoin for profit. but if all countries start legalizing Bitcoin as a means of payment, everyone will certainly be happy because the revolution that Bitcoin has brought as a decentralized currency is finally underway.

Most countries make no bad decisions like others who totally banned bitcoins and cryptocurrency in totality, they just being neutral taking some advantage and getting some taxes from the local exchanges and other crypto mining facilities. I'm totally fine with that because there are no tight regulations and I'm not worried that I'm gonna be arrested someday just by owning some bitcoins and transacting it in my country. because it really depends on how tight the regulations are, I don't really take the risk if owning BTC will makes me uncomfortable and makes me a wanted person, I rather wait for another time when they gonna change the rules again back to normal.

Bitcoin is not recognized in my country, and I don't really have any problems with that. I can easily buy and sell cryptocurrencies using centralized exchanges such as Binance, I have my account verified there and they never refused to provide their services to me. I have never been asked by authorities if I have any involvement with Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies nor has my bank ever frozen my funds and asked for extra documentation to prove that I'm not involved or anything.

So, a person will not face a lot of problems just because Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies are not legal in their country but they can face problems if they are banned within the country because that will create issues for them, the applications supporting cryptocurrencies such as exchanges and stuff will not be accessible and they might also get in trouble if they are found being involved in buying or selling Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies.

I think that everyone likes money...  :D As for legal status, I suppose that btc legal status is really a gambling, and it doesn't matter which country you live in... All the countries with no legal restrictions in cryptoindustry can make cryptohodlers experience much tougher troubles than countries with many restrictions... Especially when it comes to recognition of anonymised cryptoassets as property.

Not legalizing bitcoin does not mean that you will also be penalize once you are caught investing in bitcoin. The country is not just supporting it but I don't think the government will come to control its people as to what they are going to invest. But it will still be best if you invest bitcoin with caution. That is to protect yourself in the future especially if your country suddenly adopt rules and regulations concerning bitcoin.

That's okay, I don't really need government approval to use Bitcoin. If they don't legalize it that would be their loss. Bitcoin trading is free but using Bitcoin in goods and services is banned here. This doesn't affect the end user much, those who want to make purchases still can use Bitcoin. It just remains unrecorded. If governments don't benefit from Bitcoin, you shouldn't expect them to look favorably on it.

Flip burgers for a living I suppose lol.

But not really, career-wise I got a lot of experience under my belt to land management roles in most companies from where I live. So it's not like I don't have any choice when it comes to employment. Given that I could also go for other investment ventures out there like stocks and bonds, knowing how bitcoin and the crypto market works serves well to allow me to stay afloat in other investment ventures for a long while, so even if they do ban crypto here I'd still be left with ample choices to choose from.

I doubt that they'd ban it though, Philippines is one of the biggest crypto countries out there, the tax man here is living happy and rent-free from all the P2P and VAT transactions we make, banning it for the sake of banning crypto wouldn't spell well for the economy.

They are the leaders of a country, they have many agencies, departments, and advisors in all fields, so it is inaccurate to say they lack understanding about bitcoin. Simply because they fear it will affect their power, bitcoin is decentralized and they cannot control it. I think that's the only reason without a second reason for them to hate it.

But anyway, that is no longer a problem because as said and we have also seen, even if the government bans it, people still silently use and invest in it. Even on this forum, there are many members from countries that ban bitcoin.

I will do nothing about it, I mean what do you expect me to do? I can only change my country if the government decide to hunt down crypto investors and adopters, I believe it's never going to happen, it's not a crime to have crypto but it can be a crime to spend them in the open or accept them in a country that says no to crypto.

I have no problem living in a country that failed to legalize crypto, I will be spending them online anyway, even if most countries start accepting crypto as means of payment, it will take a very long time for others to start accepting too, Fiat will still be the best option for many.

I am someone who likes doing my shopping online, if a store accepts crypto payment it's good and if it's Fiat it's still all good, banning crypto shouldn't be an excuse for me to be out of crypto, I mean no one knows I have crypto, only a few family members and friends, but the good news is crypto isn't ban in my country, so I am in good hands.

You need not have to rely on the exchanges on your country, and no one can know how many Bitcoins you are holding in your wallet.
quite reasonable. The government may close the activities of companies related to crypto so that we cannot access it. I think that it is sites like exchanges and others. However, we can still carry out P2P transactions in various crypto communities on social media. We just need to find a reliable escrow for that. Even though our movement is very limited, I think personally someone can still carry out crypto transactions when the country bans crypto.
However, it may take some effort to make money from crypto through trading, or anything like that, as the government will most likely ban such sites.

The government can place a ban on Bitcoin and block every easy step to invest in it, but definitely other decentralized means of buying and selling Bitcoin would still be there. Since Bitcoin is not a centralized asset, nor is it a physical asset, the government cannot totally prevent anyone from buying it unless it's someone who is not very exposed to the technology. Since Bitcoin is not a physical asset, I could buy it through any decentralized means and store it in my wallet. I could even decide to destroy my wallet, but I would keep my private key safe in a place no one could get access to unless it was just me. Perhaps if the government of my country bans Bitcoin, it wouldn't stop me from buying it; there are still other decentralized exchanges out there that will still be fully operational, and I can buy from there. Already, I have a few business friends in some countries that allow Bitcoin, and I also have a few of my relatives that are outside my country, and the country they are in still allows Bitcoin, so if by chance Bitcoin gets banned by the government in my country, there are still many ways to acquire it.

Bitcoin is decentralized and even if the government doesn't legalize it we can still use it. All we have to do is find a P2P connection that is genuine.
I know it might sound like going against the government but if you believe in something then you should do anything to achieve it.

If breaking the laws can lead to serious consequences, then it is better to find ways in which you will not break the law, for example, go to another country to do this, where it will not be illegal, for a while. Workarounds can always be found, the main thing is to be confident in who you will make these transactions with.

My guess is that at some point governments will push CBDC and try to show how much better it is than Bitcoin, maybe it will work at first, but eventually the advantage of Bitcoin will be too obvious to deny.

Most likely there will be countries that do not legalize cryptocurrencies, there will always be those who are against it.

Governments can and may clamp down on centralized crypto-related activities. Yet, as you rightly pointed out, P2P transactions remain a beacon of hope. Remember, its the decentralized nature of crypto that gives it its power. Your reliance on social media communities and escrows is understandable, but it comes with its own set of challenges.

Its good to know you recognize the need for a trustworthy escrow, but how can you ensure their reliability? How do you guarantee that the escrow you choose wont disappear one fine day? And if we all turn to these communities, wont it just signal to governments where to look next? The real pseudo-problem here is not about the banning, but about how we adapt our voices and behavior to make sure we're staying one step ahead. Trading is one thing, but ensuring the safety of your assets is another. Always be cautious.

You do have a point about the risk and danger it brings to those who need to break the law or workaround it. However, your suggestion of them going to another country is not always possible for everyone, especially if you think about how impractical it is with how much money an individual needs to move country. Cryptocurrency brings additional income to a lot of us and to some it is their main source of everyday income and they heavily rely on it despite it being illegal on their countries so despite the danger and risk they have to face we cannot blame or criticize them for it.

The legalisation of bitcoin is just like the drama made by the government on the people,if you check the minister assets.Surely all the minister of your country will have their money in the bitcoin.Bitcoin was act as the asset now, most of the government official are get into the bitcoin at the early stage.Only the government had never legalise or say it as the neutral one.The bitcoin was the illegal one in the China,So you think all the people of the China had not have their money in the bitcoin. It’s not the real fact, many people have funds in the bitcoin.
This could very likely happen among government officials, because when they already know about Bitcoin and they try to explore it slowly to learn everything related to Bitcoin. It is very possible that they put their money in Bitcoin without telling many people about it and even they themselves told their people that Bitcoin was not liked by the government, even though they all really liked it even though the government did not make special rules so that people could also be encouraged to likes Bitcoin and puts his money into Bitcoin.

In my country, Bitcoin is illegal but we still buy it We use P2P to buy Bitcoin and sell it through it Many countries ban Bitcoin because it is centralized and no government has control over it, which is why they make it illegal Many people will not put money in banks to save again, and the government will not have much revenue, because they have already found a profitable investment, I don't like putting money in the bank, I prefer to invest it so that I can make a large profit if the price rises Investing in Bitcoin gives you many accomplishments and is the best investment you will ever make, the government is aware that people are still using cryptocurrency, but they can't do anything about it because it is not under their jurisdiction So even if your country prohibits cryptocurrency, you will be able to obtain it.

There is actually nothing I can do except use it secretly from the authority. Yes, it is still illegal in my country. So what!? We still use it in our daily lives. Some are totally dependent on crypto. They are not doing any kind of job; expect crypto-based work, like trading, investing in crypto, mining, bounty and signature, etc. They provide for their family using crypto. One advantage we have is that here, crypto activity isn't regulated or monitored that strictly. Many know of it but don't dare say anything. All we can do now is use it anonymously until it is legalized. That's how we have been using it from the beginning.

Definitely I am going to bypass whatever ban my country impose on cryptocurrency that the alternative means of evading government sanctions, Bitcoin had provided various means of relief for money individuals in term of serving as a means of payment for various services and jobs offered, however to exchange the coin to fiat which could have been very difficult because of the government imposition of ban thus VPN would serve as the tool which would help to transact anonymously thus crypto has been the best latest technology innovation.

If there is no other way, the better choice is to keep it secure and make use of it when the country legalise the usage of bitcoin. These days making use of bitcoin or converting it to cash is not at all a big thing. The difficulty is while handling with huge numbers.

In my country our government haven't announced anything specific about the legal status. It have taxed the cryptocurrency holding and for the reason people find this to be legal. Earlier it had announced the ban and restricted banks from handling cryptocurrency related transactions. During those days things were little complicated and slowly everything started to get on track as the usage from the people were seen increasing over time.

Bitcoin is decentralized and even if the government doesn't legalize it we can still use it. All we have to do is find a P2P connection that is genuine.
I know it might sound like going against the government but if you believe in something then you should do anything to achieve it.
I trust in bitcoin and holding bitcoin is not a crime. It's just that we shouldn't use it for the wrong purpose.

Anyone can do this if they don't mind getting into trouble one day.  If the government bans cryptocurrency and implements a law that everyone who participated in it can be arrested, then I do not think it is worth the risk of participating in Bitcoin trades because it is labeled illegal.  I won't compromise my own safety just because I believe in something that is not acceptable by the law.  Whether we participate in Bitcoin activities or not, we can still survive.  It is not a matter of life and death that we have to gamble our own safety and freedom.  It is not wise to exchange freedom for another that is a much greater freedom.

Bitcoin is unstoppable, so even if we live in a country that bans bitcoin, as long as we keep it secret and invest in silence nothing will happen to us.  I remember many years ago when most governments banned it but people still actively invested in bitcoin and thanks to that it got the growth it has today.  so far, more countries have accepted bitcoin, so there is no reason we should stop investing in bitcoin because of a government ban.  over time, global bitcoin adoption is inevitable, we just need to keep quiet until then.

If the government is passing a law that people can be arrested just for holding bitcoin then there's something very wrong with the government.
In that case I would be thinking of shifting to another country where the laws are better.
Even if I am not able to shift to another country then I would sell my coins but keep at least some portion of it where the government is unable to track it.
May be in future if the government withdraw the law then those coins would give a boost to my portfolio.

In some countries that Bitcoin isn't legal I think they still have people who still engage in Bitcoin activities, like in a secret way without people knowing about it.
I know the long awaiting Bitcoin halving is fast approaching and many have made out plans on what they'd do when the time comes which is next year, I hope is really what we're expecting if not it would be disappointing for real.

Even if your country is not legalizing cryptocurrency, this is not enough reason to lose your hope about building your bitcoin investment most particularly. Continue to keep on accumulating and storing Bitcoin in your portfolio until you find reasonable time to sell that will eventually bring you massive profits. And find some P2P exchanges that you can be trusted to exercise transactions so that your whole investment will not be put in danger.

I think there is a difference between countries that allowed crypto currencies first and banned it later, and countries that never allowed crypto currencies. In my country crypto currencies are legal and it's hard to imagine how things would have turned out if they were banned from the start. I joined the crypto world in 2016 and used it as a form of payment to get money out of my csgo skin trading adventurer. If at that time bitcoin would have been illegal than I probably would never have used it. The risk would be to high and I just would have sticked to ordinary bank transfers. But after being involved with cryptos for so many years my answer today would be different. In case the government decides to ban bitcoin tomorrow I wouldn't immediately sell all my coins. I would rather wait and see how things turn out after a few years. A ban doesn't necessarily have to be permanent, a new government could revert the law after the next election.

But in this case there must be clarity. is it not legalized as a commodity asset or not legalized as a securities asset? or are residents prohibited from owning them? or is it not legalized as a legal means of payment?
I think we should be clear about this first. Because everyone has a different answer of course. However, even if a country does not legalize bitcoin as a commodity asset and security. So it doesn't mean that residents are prohibited from owning it. It's just that in that country there are certainly no regulations regarding this matter. But if the country already has clear regulations regarding the legality of bitcoin as a commodity asset or security. Or clear regulations on whether Bitcoin is prohibited from being used as a means of payment or even prohibited from being owned. So after the regulations have been clearly made. So we as citizens still have to comply.
I am lucky because in my country Crypto and Bitcoin are legal and legal as commodity assets. The regulations here are clear. Taxes and all related matters are also clear. But if in my country there are no clear regulations regarding bitcoin and crypto then I will still invest in bitcoin. But if there were clear regulations regarding whether crypto and bitcoin were prohibited or allowed then I might prefer to comply.

Crypto has already been adopted by many in both developed and underdeveloped countries and many are still researching it. But the current generation is very interested in crypto. Governments of various countries have worked on Bitcoin adoption, but most countries have not yet allowed it. Since Bitcoin is a decentralized asset they cannot control it. Due to their weakness they are not accepting Bitcoin but high ranking government officials of different countries are also very enthusiastic about Bitcoin. They are not able to use Bitcoin openly due to restrictions but they have a lot of interest. Here the government is directly prohibiting it but indirectly keeping a positive attitude towards it. Due to which Bitcoin is widely used in all countries of the world, but Bitcoin is not officially used. I don't think it will have much effect on whether or not Bitcoin is legalized.

Aside from that, all traces or any information of me using Bitcoin, promoting Bitcoin or any related to Bitcoin will not be published just to continue using it and avoid any trouble with the law.

This will be the case until the country decides to finally accept Bitcoin. If that time never comes, going to another country that legalizes Bitcoin will be the next option to make use of the invested money in Bitcoin.

There are platforms to use with no KYC and you can buy or sell bitcoin without needs of legal for Bitcoin in your nation. You must be careful that if you have issues with the trade, and trade partner, you will not be able to ask for support from police and court. You will put yourself in troubles if you do those actions in nation that considers Bitcoin and its trading is illegal.

So to avoid issues, pick trade partners with long and good trading history, and avoid "too good to be true" offers which are often from scammers.

Similar thing has happened in my country before where Twitter (X) network was disconnected and banned, the masses where still able to access the network using a VPN.
So I am definitely going to apply same system of using a VPN on my device for a swap of location changes.
As long Bitcoin is operated a P2P with the nature of its decentralized Blockchains in keeping my private securities.

Currently, Bitcoin has been on suspension in my country for couple of years now yet the number of the Bitcoin users keep growing exceedingly in abundant with its potential of proffering profits.
At this level, there had been series of agitators who are sporadically craving for the lift of the suspension at the government is also picking some valuable reasons from this Bitcoin agitators so as putting considerations to uplifting the suspension.

So in any case my country who put an illegality pronunciation to Bitcoin, there is still going to be such a way of setting campaign and advocate for a fairness about Bitcoin in the country giving utmost proefficient variable and valuable reasons to the government that could be liable to be put to considerations.

A matter organization can be certain to raise against the governments opinion/decision or action convincing them that we are suitable and comfortable with Bitcoin maybe the illegality should be termed pointing at the public sectors and just let the individual sectors decides on who chooses to hold to the use of the Bitcoin or not. Let it be an individual interests.

Oh man... there are actually some easier solutions you can take instead of going through the hassle of changing citizenship. You can still engage in p2p transactions using Bitcoin, and that's not a bad option. As long as the internet exists, trading with people worldwide becomes increasingly accessible. You can connect with many individuals and engage in international trading activities using a VPN (if your country blocks connections to exchange markets).

The downside is that you won't be able to transact with Bitcoin in your own country since the government likely won't support the infrastructure as long as it remains illegal. But this won't hinder your trading activities, as long as you're dealing with smaller amounts (at least not as large as what MicroStrategy or BlackRock handles). Dealing with small transactions shouldn't pose significant problems, right?

However, if your vision and mission align with companies like MicroStrategy or other large institutions in formally adopting Bitcoin, you might consider moving to El Salvador if you want to experience the freedom of having Bitcoin.

In my country, bitcoin has not been legalized but it is allowed for trading, but when we withdraw to fiat currency via a local exchange, there is a tax on it. However, what I am still confused about is if something happens to the assets I own, whether this can be done through legal means, even though there is no legality yet, but tax has already been collected...

At a time in my country accts linked with crypto currency trading where being blocked and assets seized, but this didn't stop people from trading crypto currency. Though the government didn't outrightly place a ban on crypto, the Central bank mandated that banks shouldn't allow their customers use their banks acct for trading crypto currency.

So, in response to your question, people will always find a way to trade crypto whether there's a ban or not.

In my country, a lot of cryptocurrencies are legal but the problem is our greedy and corrupt government officials are planning to ban Binance and other centralized exchanges. Many exchanges like Binance wanted a license in my country but they were not given the chance probably because our corrupt officials have under-the-table deals with some exchanges. This way, the few exchanges that have licenses here avoided healthy competition.

At the moment, I noticed 3% to 5% spreads in our local greedy exchanges. So I see it as no difference to countries not legalizing cryptocurrencies. Many centralized exchanges like Binance offer the best experience but they disagree with users using VPNs. So I guess the best ways are probably thru decentralized exchanges or p2p.

The only reason it is different from a country is its decentralization, nothing else. Because every country's government wants everyone to be subject to government regulations as much as possible.

But I think that here in the country where I am located, Bitcoin is unlikely to be safe because there are already local exchanges here that are legally under the approval of the central bank. In our local exchanges here, they benefit in short.

Fortunately my country legalized Bitcoin tho is not a legal tender, now if my country never legalize Bitcoin I would still find a way to use it, since I need a currency for international cash transfer, I would find some way around to use Bitcoin, but I would not invest in it, I will immediately exchange it to local fiat in here.

Most of us are very privileged to have been in a country that does not restrict the use of bitcoin, even though they are not supporting it use as a legal tender but it's still a valid and legal means of making exchange or payments, but if i fall under the type of those whose country banned the use of bitcoin, i will rather prefer relocation because for how long will i keep hiding that i would not get caught one day if they succeeded in tracking me down.

Yeah, I wouldn't called it a privileges tho, because it also came with a consequences, Bitcoin is not restricted not because the government supported it but because I live in a third-world country that has lack of financial protection law. It makes many financial fraud crime (not related to crypto) left without even go to trial.

The legalization of Bitcoin in most countries of the world may only be a matter of time, but I see another problem for it to become applicable in everyday life, these are large feeses. It is quite possible that I would not mind moving to some country that will be loyal to cryptocurrencies, I have already thought about this, but Bitcoin needs to be competitive with fiat so that it is profitable for people to use it.

I think every country has it own financial law regulations that guides it financial economy, but as you've said, some may not be that effective, now that if the government are not even showing much interest on bitcoin or cryptocurrency as a whole, the people will feel relieved that they have their right to make decisions on whatever they come up with to rescue their financial economy situations just like with bitcoin adoption, this also indicates that there's less adoption of bitcoin in your country from the citizens, maybe many don't know about bitcoin yet or were not just being able to see the reason why they should massively develope an interest in it adoption.

Bitcoin is illegal in many countries. But people are joining it. And doing business in it. And making a living. And dealing with their financial affairs through Bitcoin. It is very difficult if not impossible to stop the spread of Bitcoin. Especially the third world countries, where there is poverty and unemployment. Bitcoin is solving these issues.
The country in which I am addressing you on this forum. Bitcoin is still illegal in this country. But there are millions of people working in Bitcoin. And they have no problem in doing their job and earning a living.

Only if you have the money to leave your place and go to another country. It is easy to say this if you are rich but with others like us having a hard time earning some money, we can't just easily transfer to another place, we only have a choice, either keep it secret or sell it and never hold Bitcoin. Right now people still choose to hold Bitcoin even though it is illegal. They are just more cautious not to get caught as the government cannot completely stop people from holding it. The only problem is that the adoption of it makes it difficult.

One reason why countries may not legalize cryptocurrency is that it can be used for illicit activities such as money laundering, fraud, and tax evasion. Some countries may view cryptocurrency as a threat to their national currency and economy. Additionally, cryptocurrency is a relatively new technology, and some countries may prefer to take a cautious approach and wait to see how it develops before making any decisions. It's also worth noting that even in countries where cryptocurrency is legal, it may not be widely accepted or used. This is because it can be difficult for people to understand how it works and to trust it as a form of payment. However, as more people become familiar

If my country did not legalize cryptocurrency, I would continue to operate as a chatbot designed to engage and educate people about general topics. Although I am designed to understand and talk about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, my purpose is not to promote or encourage people to invest in them. Instead, I try to present information in an unbiased and neutral way, so that people can make their own decisions about whether or not to invest. I hope that one day all countries will recognize the potential of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, and that my country will join the growing list of countries that have legalized it. Until then, I will continue to serve as a general....

You wouldn't be able to easily use or convert your Bitcoins to local fiat if the government decides to illegalize the cryptocurrency within the country and creates strict laws against those who are involved and are using the cryptocurrency within the country because you can't hide it if you are going to use your financial accounts to receive the cash that you are getting for selling your Bitcoins and authorities can easily trace where your payment is coming from and what it is for.

So, one can get in trouble if they use something that is banned or illegal within their country, especially if the government is strictly against its usage. Therefore, you might think that it won't be that difficult but it's not that easy as well and you can get in trouble any time if you do that and if authorities come to know about it.

Unfortunately I am living in country where all crypto related action are prohibited. we cannot use our bank/credit card for direct buying selling of crypto. Law are not strictly followed here and authorities doesn't taking any strict action against crypto users. Many Youtubers advertising crypto project, showing their lives trading video, showing portfolio with facecam but not single man is arrested hee so far.

We generally use Binance/Bitget P2P for buying and selling purpose. Those who want to exchange big are dealing live. In short we have no problem despite lagalize. Honestly we are feeling more comfort because there is no fee for buying and selling and all profit goes to our pocket.

Truly unique to live in a country where crypto is against the law but not unenforced, right? There is a strange freedom inside the limits. Binance and Bitget can still be used, even though they dont accept bank or credit cards for crypto purchases. Its interesting that the government lets an illegal market thrive. In this case, there are pros and cons. Profitability goes up when there are no fees, which helps people like you. But situations that arent controlled are dangerous. What should we do next? It is important to be careful and work hard. I think it's great that there are P2P Bitcoin platforms. But what is the price of complete freedom? Such events blur the lines between what is legal and what is moral. Even though it's risky, the fact that P2P Bitcoin purchase is possible despite restrictions is a comfort.

But this scheme to control and monitor BTC-transactions becomes meaningless if the bitcoin is not converted into fiat. Who knows, it may happen that attempts to regulate the industry will only push people towards the massive use of currencies directly between people (P2P).

So, one can get in trouble if they use something that is banned or illegal within their country, especially if the government is strictly against its usage. Therefore, you might think that it won't be that difficult but it's not that easy as well and you can get in trouble any time if you do that and if authorities come to know about it.
So what do the authorities find out? A transaction went from address #1 to address #2, from address #2 to address #3, and so on. If there is no final conversion to fiat and all transactions occur only in the closed BTC-system, then they will not know anything.

As a last resort, if you are afraid of problems from the government in your country, then the world map is not limited to just your country. The governments of all countries in the world will not introduce laws that discriminate against BTC-users at once, and countries loyal to the bitcoin will still exist. At least for a while.

bitcoin isn't legalized in my country yet it is not also banned so yeah we are free to use it as long as we are following the regulations and the
laws about online money, so yes we have all the opportunities to use and hold bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies but nowadays there are lots
of issues against Binance in which the popular exchange here , meaning we will be starting to feel the problem of trading and converting to fiat.

    I'll answer broadly.

Unless there is harsh punishment for holding crypto (which should make most people afraid of governments, so they will stop with it altogether), otherwise people will just find means to trade it by other means, examples being, p2p exchanges, gift cards, local sellers, etc.

Some will continue as normally without converting to local currency to not come under governments prying eyes, using relevant measures (vpn, tor, etc), of course.

Some will migrate to crypto friendly country. Back when India's central bank RBI banned crypto, few migrated to Dubai to continue their crypto businesses.

Bitcoin is a digital currency that you can use as a medium of investment and use it for trading or you can also use bitcoins for savings.  Most people usually use Bitcoin to hold their investments for a long period of time. Bitcoin is completely different from all other coins in the market and Bitcoin is a very important currency. An investor can trust or rely on Bitcoin as much as any other coin in the market but an investor can never trust as much. We have seen several promising coins that have come to the market, investors have invested in those coins, and those coins have disappeared from the market, taking all of the investors' money. There is no alternative to investing in Bitcoin when it comes to keeping your money safe.

Long as I can still do a P2P transactions on it then I don't mind bitcoin not having a legal status in my country, I love bitcoin but if the worst thing has come where it's being criminalized to even own one then I would probably just stop using bitcoin until I can get out that country and then reap the profits there, I don't want the hassle of having to deal with hiding just to use bitcoin, in a way it's like I'm hodling my bitcoins out of fear that I will be criminalized for owning one. Hopefully my country is always as backwards thinking as it always and just stay in the gray as long as possible.

Yes, I agree with what you said, This surefire method is in line with what I thought. Of course, there are still many ways to own these assets, because the government cannot prohibit its citizens from choosing where to invest their money. Every citizen has proper rights, the government must not prohibit citizens rights in managing their citizens finances

By the legalisation you are referring to based on the body of the message, I guess you are talking about banning it? Because even if it's not legal tender, there's nothing stopping the citizen from dealing with Bitcoin. So long it's not banned.

About the banning, I will advise you to be a law-abiding citizen and do not do anything Bitcoin... ;)...hahaha, I can't even imagine myself saying that. :)

Government cannot decide my fate for me, who knows if I will be the next Warren Buffet through Bitcoin? What matters to me is for the thing in question not to be harmful to me or anybody, and if my conscience is clear in that regard, there's no government that can stop me. After all, who is the government, if not the people?

For this, I will find all the necessary means to bypass the restriction, and thankfully, Bitcoin itself is a means to go private and anonymous. I will continue to do this even as the P2P initiative and VPN aid my plan.

It can be challenging when your country hasn't legalized cryptocurrencies. In such situations, focus on education and advocacy. Share knowledge about the benefits of Bitcoin and blockchain technology. Encourage discussions with local policymakers to address concerns. Explore peer-to-peer trading platforms and decentralized exchanges, ensuring compliance with local regulations. Additionally, consider joining global communities to stay connected with the crypto space. Remember, education and dialogue are powerful tools in fostering understanding and acceptance.

What you say may also be more appropriate to do, but you also need to research more different countries for this because there are also countries that do not legalize Bitcoin but the countries also do not prohibit their people from trading on many crypto exchanges which generally also trade Bitcoin in them. So a country like this also needs to be looked at because it doesn't bother Bitcoin users or investors who often invest in Bitcoin and if someone is in a country like that, I don't think he needs to think about moving to another country.

In my country have special viewed with bitcoin although still illegal but government have adopted taxes for all transaction with cryptocurrency for selling or buying with our local exchange market. Positive viewed bitcoin still not legal but government have advantage with highest taxes receiving every years how bitcoin and cryptocurrency transaction up drastically. Selling bitcoin or altcoin assets trough P2P is simple and easily but have lower rate than price directly to your local exchange and trade to local fiat pair. So far fewest country have legalize bitcoin as transaction payment from El Savador and some small countries in African but difficult bigger country give positive way or make bitcoin as legal currency payment transaction.

I am lucky in my country have legal any exchange local currency without have to sell trough P2P in Binance or other exchange, I think if my country make bitcoin legal transaction will be easy for transaction than using fiat currency.

If it's p2p in real world, does that mean you look for people who are buying Bitcoin before you can withdraw your money?

Many countries do not want to recognize Bitcoin as a legal currency in every country, in general they say it is illegal, but other facts say, Bitcoin can still be bought and sold on exchanges operating in that country.

Many cases I have seen in some countries state that Bitcoin is illegal, but the exchanges operating in that country are legal, does this indicate that the exchange pays taxes to the country, actually that is what happens, the country declares Bitcoin illegal, but they never dosaid the exchange was illegal.

For me, I don't really care if the country declares Bitcoin illegal, the important thing is that the exchange is not illegal, the country cannot control Bitcoin, so for me everything is safe.

Same scenario in my country, it is fortunate that Bitcoin is not illegal in our country. However, if they happen to ban it the same as some other countries, I have to find possible options just to continue using Bitcoin.

Sometimes I am also confused by this policy, they demand taxes on every crypto transaction but when there is a problem in crypto they are reluctant to respond, as if they are stating that crypto is not legal but are still trading in the crypto world

Your country does not have to legalize it for you to be able to use it but then since it's not legal, it can't be accepted for formal transactions except amongst Bitcoin enthusiast who can transact using P2P trading as found on so many exchange platforms, you can take advantage of such exchange platforms and convert your coins into Fiat if you have got some coins in your wallet.

I think that is the best way of using your coins regardless of it been legal or not in your country of residence, legality in your country only makes it usable in the open Market but doesn't stop you from storing your wealth in Bitcoin and also further transacting in Bitcoin.

Same scenario in my country, it is fortunate that Bitcoin is not illegal in our country. However, if they happen to ban it the same as some other countries, I have to find possible options just to continue using Bitcoin.

Lolz..., that's always most government policies for you. They will always do things that favour them. What they are after is the money they make through the levied tax. Issue concern it isn't their problem, they will rather tell you it isn't legalize in the country. Although, this isn't a good idea for any country. Tax shouldnt be paid on anything that is not legalized within any country.

It's important to note that legal and regulatory environments vary widely across countries, and the status of cryptocurrency can change over time.

What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?

Most of the countries that have issues with legalising Bitcoin have either changed their minds about it or have lost core financial institutions and golden investment opportunities. I can not stay in enviroments that do not encourage businesses to thrive, for heaven's sake, there are over 200 nations in the world and less than 2% are those considering cryptocurrency illegal.

I will gladly leave the enviroment and go to one which safely encourages transactions using cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is one such currency that has influence in every country in the world. Because it's made in such a way that everyone can use Bitcoin openly in countries where it's legal, but secretly in countries where it's illegal. So a coin in which you can reap huge benefits if you invest. Inflation of the money of all countries is the reason why it is becoming most dangerous to keep money in banks. So if you can invest in Bitcoin properly then surely you will find safe place.

What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?

I think declaring bitcoin illegal and declaring bitcoin an illegal currency are different. Currently, there are not too many countries that accept bitcoin as legal currency, but there are many countries that have legalized bitcoin as a commodity and asset. So people can still trade, buy and sell bitcoin on centralized exchanges, which is not so strange.

Bitcoin is gradually being recognized as an asset rather than a currency, and not many countries ban it anymore. Regarding its legalization as a currency, other than El Salvador, there is no second country.

Well it will not be easy for some many people in my country if the government happens to ban Bitcoin, and is going to cause alot of havoc in my country, because alot of people depending on the Bitcoin to boost for their daily bread because there's no job vacancies in the country for the youth to engage themselves on, and the only opportunity that just come to assist in reducing the crime in the country and someone will wake up one day to abolish it will not go well in terms of my country..

But I see no reason it will be abolished because it is a legitimate online business,so what will be the reason for the government not to legalized it here for more better of my country..

That said, I am optimistic that my country will continue to support cryptocurrencies and allow them to operate freely. There are already a number of countries that have embraced cryptocurrency, and I believe that the trend will continue in the future.

This is why it would really be that important that you should really be aware on the current laws or bills that you do have in your country in regarding with cryptocurrencies so that you wontreally be putting up yourself on such possible issues or problems that you might be able to face on just because you had really that made yourself skipped out something. Its true that not all countries are already considering Bitcoins to be a legal tender or something that officially that been accepted or regulated. There are still some places on which they are really that still on the neutral side on which means they arent banning it and also they arent considering on regulating it.So far we are still on adoption rate on which we cant tell whether it is really that on fast pace or on a slow gradual phase increase. It is really just that not all corners of the world would really be considering Bitcoins existence or cryptocurrency as a whole.

If it turns out that my country would really be banning or wouldnt really be legalizing crypto then it is really just that fine.If its banned then there are tons of ways
for you to deal up without being that caught but of course you should be engaging things with own risks.

This is not even a question to ask. Op does your country legalize cryptocurrency? No. So how did you manage to trade with cryptocurrency in your country that is not yet legalizing cryptocurrency. The countries that have legalized Bitcoin in the world are just few and not even up to 4 and all the rest have not legalize Bitcoin in their domains or jurisdictions. But the ones that have not legalize Bitcoin are the ones making wave in the cryptocurrency ecosystem market place. Like my country is the highest cryptocurrency marketing center in the whole Africa but our government even banned it oh. We still make wave. Bitcoin does not depend on general control but p2p.

A lot of countries are still not legalizing cryptocurrency but they don't dwell with crypto investors and traders as they give freedom whatever their citizens chosen careers. So if I'm living this kind of country, I think I don't have to worry continue to access with my cryptos because the country itself is not going to kill us either. As long as we don't do crimes, then we are safe from putting in jail.

Actually, there is nothing we can do if the government doesn't want to make crypto legal. But despite being legal or illegal, we will use crypto no matter what. As a matter of fact, we are currently doing that. I live in Bangladesh, and if you look it up on Google, you'll see that crypto is illegal in my country. But still, thousands of crypto users from my country are using it. Of course not in public, as it might raise a legal issue. Most of us use crypto in secrecy, and not even our neighbors or relatives know of it.
