Title: swaplab.io simple-swap.net swapslab.cc and other phishing swaplab websites
Post by: swaplab.cc on October 07, 2023, 06:32:19 PM
Our project SWAPLAB has only one official website https://swaplab.cc which was closed several years ago. However, we often stumble upon scammers who use our name, website design and / or company information.

The following ones belong to scammers and are phishing websites:

Code:
swaplab.io
swapslab.cc
swaplabs.cc
simple-swap.net

When any of those websites are up and running we usually contact domain registrars and ask to take the scammers down. However, the scammers continue to jump from one registrar to another. Their oldest phishing website is http://swaplab.io. There were complaints about it, e.g. here (https://www.bitcoinabuse.com/reports/3ENbLWxQpx47jrCApzsUnJY4KdteXfJc1Y) and here (https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoScamBlacklist/comments/niu6ii/swaplabio_is_a_mimic_of_swaplapcc_and_will_steal).

According to whois swaplab.io is going to switch to nicenic.net which is a well-known (https://www.trustpilot.com/review/nicenic.net) bullet-proof domain registrar for scammers.

Don't use any websites from the list above. They will steal your crypto!

I just checked the three websites you listed above on this monitoring website "https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/", from the looks of it the three websites are already down, though I am not sure how long the three websites have been down. you mentioned that you usually report to domain registrars, so they could have been down after you guys reported them. anyway, thanks for the heads up.

Yes, our previous complaint to domain registrar succeeded, but as can be seen on https://who.is/whois/swaplab.io they switched to nicenic.net. It's just a matter of time (end of transfer period) until their website will be back online. Nicenic has a really bad reputation https://www.spamhaus.org/statistics/registrars/.

This is true, and you all need to do us report it again or buy the domain names too which obviously needs a financial budget.

It's good to see you reporting scam phishing sites even though you already stopped your service. If you still have access to your social media sites you can just post such info for people to be aware and not become responsible when someone got scammed due to these phishing sites.

It's good to know that you are out here trying to warn members about possible phishing attempts. This will help users who do research before they use a service

Could you please extend the warns even on your website if possible?
The same for Twitter, the tweets are protected, they should be public while you make such warnings.
You ANN (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4938633.msg44513987#msg44513987) also contains no such warnings

And it's good that the domain registrar reacted so fast your on your request, because usually as per my experience, reporting to them is really a pain because they don't react quickly that there are some individuals who fell for the scammers trick, (a) replicating the website, (b) using some form of ads to push their website on the top, higher than the original one.

So yes, hopefully you and others maybe will have to work hard and see if the 3 websites are going to be up again.

Just putting the scam websites inside the "code" though, so that no one can accidentally visit them from here,

Code:
swaplab.io
swapslab.cc
swaplabs.cc

Today we found this website which was created 21 days ago, uses the name of our project and has the same design as phishing website swaplab.io :

Code:
simple-swap.net

Looks like they try to appear high on a search results of another crypto service and also on swaplab search results in the hope that someone will visit their website while looking for one service or the other.

So, simple-swap.net is scam.

So, simple-swap.net is scam.

This is further complicated by the fact that you all use universal word swap. Yes, it is completely suitable for this purpose, but it is therefore also widely used by all exchangers.

btw. what is happening with your site swaplab.cc ?
Website is no longer available? Private Twitter account...

As I wrote in the first post our website doesn't work for several years. The team is dissolved and folks are currently employed in different companies. Feel free to check the twitter account, but there is not so much to see.

The profile's tweets are set to private. It could do better if people were able to see, reply and quote the tweets minus first having to get approved.
