The lottery is very popular here in our country you can find lotto outlets in almost every corner of our city, and there's always a long line whenever the top prize balloons I frequently bet in a lottery but every time I bet I just mark the LP sign in a lotto form which means Lucky Pick that is the machine will be the one to pick the numbers for you.

My reason is I don't want to have attachments on numbers that I'm going to bet because it will make me a lotto betting addict, some bettors keep their favorite numbers to bet and they make sure that they bet on it daily in fear that it will come out when they failed to make a bet.

In your country do you have this LP lucky pick feature in the lotto form and do you choose LP to make a bet for you or are you keeping numbers to bet, what are your reasons, and what's your success rate?

I bet on lottery few times because the lotto outlet is very far on my location but I’m always betting on my regular number such as my birthday and some birthday numbers related to someone very close to me as a good luck bet. Choosing numbers is what makes lottery betting special since you can be proud to yourself if you won using your own choice of number. Letting a machine decide on what number to bet is just like tossing money without enjoying it.

Winning in lottery is harder than being hit by a lightning strike twice so why not enjoy the betting experience given that our chance of winning is very small. At least you have a little fun and excitement.

PS: The sample picture of lottery card is very nostalgic since that our local lottery ticket.  Been ages since I touch one of those. :D

Eitherway would be valid given that luck is the determinant of the winning combination. However, I understand those who are betting for birth dates, special even in their life, and such with  corresponding number 'coz that's their belief and there's nothing wrong with it. For them it would help them get a winning bet sinply because they value those numbers but will never guarantee winning, same as with machine generated combinations. They know to themselves that if they are not lucky then no matter how many times they try then they won't still win but using their special numbers just simply makes their bet special. Just think of how happy they would be using a number they really think of.

There are all types of lotteries, those that have selection samples, from 0-99 numbers, from 0-999, and so on in that sequence what they imagine they can do in the possible combinations and in that idea, some people tend to stay with their combinations over time, but, maintaining them or changing them does not improve or worsen the probability.

In my case I practically don't play lotteries, but when I do it happens in the 100 number lottery and the 1000 lottery, in which I always play the same number, but such a strategy has not worked.  ::)

i rarely buy a ticket. the last time was just when i remember my old pops going home and saw there was a lottery ticket booth. because of it i just bought 2 tickets just as he does every day. but i just also do the lucky pick.

Lottery is also popular in my country (it used to be more popular before though) however there is a keys difference with lottery here and the lotteries around the world. We do not get to choose the numbers we want to gamble on.
Here the lottery consist on small gambling cartoons which are pre-printed and distributed all around the country for people to buy and store until the day of the number drawing.

I’m wondering if this is still a lottery because everyday there’s always a winner, I don’t think its still luck maybe something is going on that we don’t know. Well, I have to agree that lottery is very popular in our country, and most of the bettor have their own numbers that are betting since then and yes you can be addict with that which you will not realize since the price is just small if you think. I never allow the machine to pick numbers when I'm playing lottery.
Why should I trust it more than my own intuition?

Especially if I'm playing a small number of rows, I see no point.
But the chances of getting the lottery are very small anyway, so it'll probably not matter either way.
But just in case, I would never allow the machine to pick. Nobody tells me it's not backdoored.

For me, I've never kept numbers, but still, I have never had any course to allow the machine pick a number for me, I've always place bets on my own personal numbers each time I visit a lotto shop to bet or play the lotto.
But then though, I personally will chose to keep numbers instead of allowing machines to chose a number for me, and this is because I do not trust anybody or system, the machine might as well be dishing out numbers that will not play at the end of the day.

So, it is practically better to keep your own numbers than having to constantly blame the machine for choosing a wrong numbers for you.

the machine will not decide who will win though. in the Philippines, the lottery is decided by the air-mix machine to pick the numbers which people will not see its rigged. unlike those scratch-off tickets where they could just not allow anyone to win no matter how many tickets are bought. its just them deciding how much a ticket could win.

still, people are addicted to this lottery chasing their dreams to finally get out of poverty. i didn't even know anyone really won except for the rumors that this lottery is used for laundering officials.

We don't have LP but we have Television Bingo is called and people buy it,be them gamblers or not,people in here believe a lot in luck which is why most of them are poor  ;D as luck cannot favor anyone.I have bought it sometimes as only to watch a program during the Sunday as it is given every Sunday in TV and what I have seen is that people who have nothing to do with gambling in general they are winning it which is funny enough for me.

Tickets can also be bought in every corner and we have to fill in them ourselves,we choose the numbers to be printed in the tickets and this is a unique one,it is 15 from 90 as a game which is extremely difficult to get.

I remember my old neighbors before that they used to pick the same numbers and that's why despite that they have won a few times but not jackpots but combinations that has a prize still.

That's true your pick or the machine everything depends on the drawing and the drawing has been fair all through the years so if you pick your numbers and you let the machine pick for you it doesn't matter, if you're lucky you are going to be lucky, there are even stories where one guy bet for the first time and he hit a jackpot,

Well, you do actually have a point but at the same time its a bit contradictory on which telling about being not addicted because if you do compare out your way of betting and others been sticking with their own numbers then there's no much difference about it. It is really just that you are just betting on random numbers whereas other people do really bet on their personal choice numbers

Well in our country too, we have something like that, keeping the same number they bet because they believe that someday they will hit the jackpot, its called caring for the numbers, I bet in lotto a few times and yes I also have numbers that I don't change but I don't have a hope on winning just betting for fun or just simply betting, we all have different kinds of belief in lotto I'm sure of that anyways all are the same or the same aiming to win a jackpot, we can't intervene in someone's belief as they like that and we can also accept them, In my country beliefs in lotto are still popular.

Never in my mind to use let the machine pick the numbers I going to bit since I always feel that the chance to win by doing that is so low since maybe they can program that and that decrease our chances.  Are You Keeping Numbers Or You Allow The Machine To Pick Your Numbers To Bet ? Mostly I make my number, especially in games and rounds when it comes to Bitcoin prediction but when there is a tournament with random numbers I just ask ChatGPT or google to randomize my number. I've done I guess a pseudo kind of this? I randomly grabbed some number generators and used the results. No success though. Might try this out maybe tomorrow or something.

You are lucky to be able to use the Lucky Pick feature so you don't have to bother selecting the numbers and leaving the number selection to the machine. In my place, I don't see a feature like that but I wonder if it is in other places because I rarely move to the lottery place. Usually, I pick numbers randomly but as we know, this lottery depends on luck so my success rate is still low. I've never won a lottery prize either, although it could happen someday. I would always be a bit scared that the same kind of numbers are given to a large number of people and if those numbers would win, then they payout would be very small for each ticket. So far I haven't met anybody that uses given numbers by other people, it doesn't really if the numbers are randomly generated by a computer, or just written down on a piece of paper by a stranger. I don't really like playing the lottery, but several people where I live especially mostly older people aged 40 years and over, always talk about lottery numbers. Based on what I learned from those who have been in the lottery world for more than 10 years, the 2-4 numbers placed can be random combinations. Moreover currently lottery sites provide features to make it easier for gamblers to randomize numbers so that we only need to enter the 4 numbers we have and they automatically become thousands of different combinations. Really, i do not take part in such lotteries because i feel that most lotteries are rigged and we never know if the persons who win those lotteries are the relatives / near and dear ones of the lotteries organizers.

I’ve tried that LP Lucky pick feature several times already and I can say that the result is still the same and it doesn’t increase the success rate since that is still lottery and the probability to win is very low. There's no way on knowing whether it does increase your winning rate or not because we know that lotteries does have that kind of chances or odds which is close to impossible. Literally speaking about
odds and chances on making up those calculations then chances would really be just always be reflecting on how much ticket you had purchase and not on the numbers you are generating or

I have tried this one and for some tickets I buy, it is just one time I've got 3 numbers hit on the 6 winning numbers. Just to think that we need to hit all 6 numbers in order to win the jackpot prize the chances it very slim, it was less than 1% and if you are not too lucky, you will never get this one. In fact, some of my neighbors have been doing this for so many years and even hitting at least 3 numbers didn't happen. A lottery is definitely a hard thing to win and we solely rely on luck.

i also tried several times, i tried both, using the machine as well as my numbers, and the highest that i got was i believe 2-3 correct numbers. then, i think of the situation and it really seems that winning is next to impossible to guess all those numbers. so i decided for myself to just bet if i really have extra extra money so i won't put myself into tight position, where i wanted to bet because i already got addicted to it even if the chance is very very slim.

Sounds like good strategy to me, solid numbers means you would have eternal regret if they ever won and you had neglected to play that particular week.   As I understand it the random pick is no less luck then just sticking to the same numbers every week.   There is no strategy especially that gains an advantage over another choice in any particular week, you would require some unique insight and massive statistically data analysis calculations to perform correctly and even then its still luck.

We may use a different approach in our lottery bet but we all need to be lucky to win. Actually, it's not a big deal though, what's the big deal here is if we could continue wasting our money or will be addicted on lottery as we would keep chasing til death. Whichever come first, but in life, we try to risk to get big reward, it's just that lottery is the easiest way but only once you are extremely lucky.

It's not as if the machine will intentionally pick the wrong numbers for you so that you will never become a winner and even if you choose numbers yourself your hope is still all on luck anyways, pray to get lucky or forget about the money, this is why I don't spend so much on tickets or any form of gambling in general, whatever way you choose to go you still have to depend entirely on your luck, if it's not on your side you aren't going to win.

I'll pick my own numbers rather than leave it up to a machine to pick the numbers. But the method used by @OP can be tried sometimes so that we don't have to think about what number to choose. Unfortunately, I haven't found that feature on the lottery machine at my place, so I still choose the numbers manually. But it's the same because playing the lottery really depends on luck. Whatever number we choose and using whatever method, it depends on luck. That's a lottery game where we can't predict who will be the winner in the next round. We can only buy the lottery ticket and hope that we will be the winner.

Hmm, it seems you got a point there when you say that it can cause an attachment. And it is actually true, as I always heard that people are adopting their numbers. The funny thing is, that if they don't place a bet or forgot to, their adopted numbers will then come out. For some, it can be the opposite. They think betting on random numbers are addicting. You have the same decision or choice as me in that you will always be confident and rely on your own abilities, even though lottery is not bet that I really like, but occasionally I still want to try it just to test my luck.

I have my own numbers kept in my wallet. :D I think many lottery enthusiasts do the same especially the old ones who had habitually betting everyday or every time there's a lotto draw. I don't use that so called auto pick feature of them because I think there's a chance that it is rigged. You know, it came from them so they might avoid what will come out once the draw happens. I do not play lottery, but my dad did for almost 15 years of his lifetime. He has a set of numbers that he was "taking a good care of" and it was composed of the combination of every member of our family's birth date. It became a routine for him to bet on it everyday after his work. He spares an amount everytime for lottery because he has this thinking that he might win one day and become and instant millionaire. I view it as a desperate move because he can just save and invest instead, but resorted to an 'easy way' which is hoping for the best and relying on pure luck. Good thing is he quit already. If ever the winning numbers have been chosen, you can identify them immediately after seeing or hearing them on the radio/television. People in our country have a belief that being loyal to your set of numbers in the lotto will make you lucky one day.

I don't think that if you have machine pick it for you, you wouldn't be addicted on it too, that's probably just a theory. You'll get addicted to it even if you don't have something like numbers to care for, addiction doesn't seem to have that kind of pattern. I think most lotto winners have numbers they care.

I don't see any difference between allowing the machine to pick numbers versus the current application of AI bots in gambling or betting apps that have odds. It's practically allowing another intelligence do the thinking while we simply go with the flow or opt to go with our own numbers.

I more of witnessed scratch-type lotteries more often than we choose the number we want but even in that kind most often people choose their combination on their own not based on any machines and lottery bettors are more often obsessed with the registration plates of vehicles in my opinion and its some kind of superstition is common.

The numbers that you are given by the machine are not really meant to be some sort of accurate prediction of the numbers that could make you a winner, it is just an easy way to allow gamblers to get a bunch of numbers they could have never picked on their own, however while an interesting feature, it is not as if you could not have done this on your own, since there are many ways a person can generate random numbers on their own without the aid of a computer.

in Italy the numbers can be chosen based on the " dreams " you have! obviously it is also tradition to play important dates such as birthday, marriage...

or worse option there are a lot of players still play the "late" numbers.
