I hold bitcoin and few shitcoins. But that is for investment and store if value. Store of value for Bitcoin. Gambling for altcoins. So I convert altcoins to bitcoin or stable coin when it is time.

I still use fiat because people in my country are buying and selling with fiat. You will find it hard and frustrating to buy with bitcoin or other crypto. I prefer to use crypto, but the way my country is do not let me.

Bank is still needed in our life or day to day activities why because whenever you want to make local transfer another person within same entity you will use card to do that or going to bank directly to transfer. The main purpose of bitcoin or cryptocurrency is not to compete with bank rather as an assistant to bank to scale up where there seems to be a barrier in the network just as you said of trying to transfer money to next country but finding it difficult if such person knows how to use cryptocurrency you don't mind making that payment through bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency.

I myself still use bank and I have my debit card with me, what I does most at times is to send some little amount or the exact I wished and want to spend for the week/month maybe after I might have exhausted it then I will have to send another because saving money in bank always leads to service charges the worst part of it is whether you save money in bank or initiate any transaction you would still be charged at the month ending.

Well yeah, I personally use banks up until now. My debit cards and e-wallets were from banks and they are way more convenient when it comes to purchases online or offline. The amount of fee is far more terrible when we use cryptocurrency in a smaller transactions so why bother using it when you have fiat? I would be happy to have a cryptocurrency debit card myself but unfortunately I have none. I don't know where to get one here in my country. How about the fee? Though having one could be cool but I am wondering about it's convenience here in my country as well.

You open so many threads with silly questions every day, it's rather painful. The vast majority of the world uses banks every day and it is cryptocurrency holders that are in the tiny majority. If your bank is slow loading online, then get a better bank - there are plenty of options to switch to in every country, you're not tied to a single bank for a lifetime and there is no excuse for a poorly performing website in the current age. There's a legitimate reason no bank in the Americas or vicinity of Europe will allow transactions to Russia, because they are under sanctions by any country with a conscious for invading their neighbour in a horrific war, get a clue.

I think it is naive and even childish to think that banks are useless today.
Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can do a lot of things, but there are many things  cryptocurrencies can't do yet.

It may be easier to get rich investing in altcoins in the past years, but you can get rich in the traditional financial market can. A lot of people get rich there every year... there are a lot of opportunities in stock exchanges.

I get why people are ditching traditional banks these days.  They can be slow, pricey, and don't always have your best interests in mind and  cryptocurrency seems like a way better option for folks who want more control over their money.

I mainly use cryptocurrency now for daily purchases and stuff.  It's quicker, cheaper and more secure than banking with some giant corporation.  I haven't had any real issues with hackers or getting ripped off either.

Banks still have some usefulness when it comes to things like payroll or securing a loan.  But for most everyday transactions, I think cryptocurrency is the way of the future.  Its just a more streamlined, locked-down, and transparent system.  And the technology is only getting better as time passes.  I honestly believe cryptocurrency will revolutionize finance.

Yes, I still use banks and banks still play a role for those who have Bitcoin or other crypto, because they cannot be used for daily transactions in making direct purchases using fiat or debit cards and so on. And if I want to use Bitcoin or other crypto, I have to convert it into fiat so it can be used for transactions or buying and selling.

And the reason is because in the country where I live, Bitcoin cannot be used as a transaction tool but is allowed as an asset or investment.
And maybe Bitcoin or other crypto can only be used for transactions with those who use Bitcoin or cryptocurrency too and that too personally or individually.

Not having a bank account is insane, for most people throughout the world.  Now as a financial advisor, and someone who knows the inner workings of banks very well, I can also say for the most part I absolutely don't trust them.  Now for smaller "mom and pop" type banks, or credit unions, that's a different story.  However the big behemoth types banks such as JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, Bank of America etc, I agree they are most certainly corrupt, and not worth using.  However to totally rid of banks is mostly nonsensical in most part of the earth.  How are you going to get paid by work?  How are you going to make payments to most outlets (most do not accept cryptocurrency)  Where are you going to store your traditional fiat money?  Etc etc..

does the use of Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency stop one from using banks? Who have you the impression that banks are not functional and should be done away with?

Maybe you should understand that their are things that will come to your mind and it's just best to leave it there and never spill it out.

Bitcoin is bitcoin and it has it own advantages and disadvantages and their area of use and application varies in their unique way.

In my country for example, what is common and popular for people is the bank and they are rendering the needed service to the best of their ability, the youth and educated adults knows about cryptocurrency and are the ones currently using it. If you tell an average market woman to invest her money into bitcoin, she won't even understand what you are saying but saving her money in the bank won't be a big deal because she knows a lot of people doing it and might have been saving her money in the bank already.

Are you kidding your question? Bank is most important part in our life and I don't sure you can purchase or investing in bitcoin without Bank helped, Bank is most important part of bitcoin and I sure although near in the future Bitcoin become legal transaction we still need bank for purchasing bitcoin or withdrawing assets trough to be fiat trough Bank. Bitcoin still not supported as legal payment transaction exactly in my country bitcoin available for assets commodity only and not allowed use bitcoin for transaction payment. I need Bank as third place for withdrawing my bitcoin to be fiat assets and get Bank service for cash out my paper money.
Many traditional market and some of them not popular with bitcoin, Bank can't delist from our transaction kinds however bitcoin have advantage but bank still use for many kinds of transaction.

Bitcoin can serve two main purposes, it could be used as a currency used to pay for goods and services and it could be an investment platform. People mainly use banks for financial transactions and you don't expect them to make you rich. if you also use Bitcoin as a means of payment, it will not bring any profit except if you use it for investment. Banks will not give you money except if invest in services like fixed deposits which could give interest. But keeping money in fixed deposit is a waste of time because inflation will gradually make it worthless.

Fiat is the most popular means of payment in my country. Many people don't know about cryptocurrencies and will not accept them as a currency, so you cannot live on cryptocurrencies alone. I still rely on banks to carry out my financial transactions. The government is not also helping matters because they have been hostile to cryptos.

Do you have had problems with hackers or someone steal money from your cryptocurrency or bank
Do you think banks not working reliable any more ?
I have experienced loss of funds because of a hack on my bank account. And the bank couldn't trace the hacker or where the funds were sent to. I don't have confidence in banks because they have proved to be unreliable. Many people in my country have lost so much money because of internal fraud.

It is important to teach your close family members about cryptocurrencies especially if you have plans to keep some inheritance in cryptos. The need to know how to access and use wallets. They are also meant to learn how to protect wallets.

Same way you don't trust banks, is the same way most people who use it don't trust crypto currency and not interested in how it works.
Fiat banks will continue to exist because it is the modern precipise of what led to the idea of cryptocurrency and the decentralized system. Still, it is the legal tender of a country that is kept, or processed right in the banking halls of each country and will be used as long as cash exist.
If you like told here use cryptocurrencies more and your family too, it is because your country accepts it and am sure you had to change some BTC or cryptocurrency asset to cash inorder to sort yourself at one point or the other .

As long as fiat money is still a legal tender and generally accepted for buying and selling, banks are going no where and would continue to be popular with anything relating to peoples finances.
As to poking people and terming anyone who uses banks as old, it’s only stupid to ditch the formal and most used method of financial transactions around the earth.
Banks are still reliable as they’re still needed and widely used today.

i told my bank If you not give me loans or credit i dont need you and i close it

This seems to be your grievance with the bank. You’re probably not eligible and I’m pretty sure the bank probably won’t notice and likely won’t care to see you leave either.

No doubt even a blind man knows that the banking system is not working well, those that have opportunity to spend bitcoin freely why won't  they choose bitcoin to use bitcoin when it is very easy for them to have access to their money wherever they want. You should understand that it is not in every country where bitcoin is spent for exchange of goods and services.

If some people still use bank card to spend money I don't think they should be blame for that maybe they are restricted in their country  of using bitcoin.  Some people would even prefer to hodl their bitcoin than to spend it on everything.

Yes and why not? There is no good reason to shift to Bitcoin completely. Bitcoin transactions are slow and expensive compared to banks. Bitcoin does not provide me access to traditional stock markets. Bitcoin does not provide me access to precious metals. Bitcoin cannot bring the banks down.

Not sure why people always want to start a war between Bitcoin and Bank. But Bitcoin was not created to make banks look out dated. Especially the current scenario makes Bitcoin Look outdated.

Crypto currency and bank are two separate things. We invest in crypto currency, while the money we have is saved in the bank. The bank does not help anyone to be rich, but it protects your assets, however, the bank can lend to any business that you can increase, and get rich. Your bitcoin crypto currency debit card can work well, but it is not intended to ignore the bank. The bank has its own importance that can never end.Anyone who deals with the bank is never old, but it is a basic need for all.

I think you think about your limit and your surroundings. You do not know the rest of the world, because there are still many countries where very few people know the crypto currency, and here this transaction is not in crypto currency. Most people, including myself, use a bank for daily transactions. Banks are more reliable than crypto currency, and hackers attack is much lower than crypto currency. So many banks are still working well.

Yes, I use banks because it's convenient and profitable. Mutually beneficial, of course, because banks are certainly not altruistic companies :)

1. Transfers from card to card, at least in Ukraine - it is no more than 15-30 seconds. In the U.S. sent using PayPal associated with the card - also quickly. Hackers, break-ins - no. There are many additional levels of protection of access to card accounts, which do not allow it, if I have not lost the card or phone, glued to it all the passwords and codes :)

1.1. Transfer from the EU to my account (within business) - yes takes up to 72 hours, but this is a feature of the European banks.

2. Cryptocurrency transfers can certainly win, at least due to the relatively high speed and commission (and then not everywhere). But ... Until cryptocurrency has not become an official means of payment, your recipient, having received for example bitcoin, and wishing to dine in a restaurant, will be forced - yes yes yes yes, sells on the exchange, to withdraw to the card, because the restaurant accepts money ... The circle is closed...
2.1 The customer company in the EU has no legal grounds to pay me in cryptocurrency. And I do not want to use "gray schemes".

Yes, i still make use of banks because i needed to make some certain payments to other people who don't use bitcoin yet, but am not having my entire finance with banks, instead, i make use of the banks each time i exchange my bitcoin to fiat and only do that for the little amount of money i needed to use at the moment, but i believe a time is coming soon where using banks will not be condole by many again.

Still true to this day that we still have to sell to have cash to pay but I'd be more cautious to put more into banks than in stablecoins. There are still times that I have to send more to banks but will tend to withdraw them that day or the next because the reason to withdraw is to buy the stuff I need. Like storing food before the prices go up again.

True that banks are still useful, online services they provide are still reliable. But most of all, I prefer to keep my money in BTC for it's safer and more profitable to make money.

The bank system was still in the economy, which mean we are in the part of banking system. If we want to convert the crypto currency to fiat still we are using the same bank system,So we are in the demand of the bank system.Removing the bank from the economy is not the possible one,may be it was possible in future after the emergence of crypto currency above the banking system. The bank is essential one,if you are going to buy the same bitcoin using your fiat.Because no one now buying the cryptocurrency like the silk trade by direct meet.

Still we are getting our salaries through the bank system,if the bank is not available now we get salary now.Untill the bank system is fully replaced by the crypto currency we should accept the system to our real life.We should wait for the time of crypto currency.

Banks are still very important for our daily needs to make transactions to other people as well as shopping that still uses debit cards, do you think banks are bad so you trust more fully in bitcoin? Then how do you do activities using BTC is it difficult? Most of the majority still use banks for their needs.

We need to balance between daily needs and investment, if investing you can choose bitcoin because it is a good choice while the bank is only to accommodate your fiat money, again the majority of them fiat is still very much needed in its usefulness, therefore you should not be too skeptical just because your goal is to send between countries that are considered slow because indeed the bank's work system between countries takes a long process.

The banking system still exists - and we have to use it. The president of Argentina wanted to close the central bank, but after his election he abandoned the idea because the state still needs banks to control the population. I think we will see a hybrid of the banking system and cryptocurrencies in the future.

We have cryptocurrency you still use Banks ?
The whole world uses banks and we still make transactions using fiat, how is it possible that we don't need fiat and even want to abandon fiat. Not to mention that every country has not regulated that crypto cannot be carried out as a transaction. So no matter how bad the bank is, we cannot escape from it.

Indeed BTC is better than fiat, in fact from all angles BTC is much more perfect than fiat. But for that reason it is only an investment, not for transactions in a country because each of our countries already has fiat for transactions. Maybe the meaning of the topic you created is that instead of depositing in a bank, it is better to invest in BTC, this is more appropriate. I myself also want to say that banks are worse if we put money there, because when we put bank money, the value of our money will decrease due to inflation.

I still use them, the older the better because they've proven themselves for so long.

Do you use more crypto or banks for your daily or average transactions ?
At this time, I've got more transactions happen in crypto because of my trades but if it's about doing things on my daily life, money has to go through the bank and use it with things like bills and groceries.

Do you have had problems with hackers or someone steal money from your cryptocurrency or bank
Of course, no one wants to be a victim of hackers and don't want to experience stolen money from our banking accounts.

Do you think banks not working reliable any more ?
They're just fine for me but the purpose is what it is and I don't put a lot of money in them.

I think it's possible to live without banks nowadays, but for that, you need to have a safe crypto job and income in crypto of course. On top of that you need to live in a place where many shops accept crypto and with ATMs for converting crypto to cash, some things must surely be paid in cash.

But for now, it's a privilege for a small number of people, the rest of us can't get far without banks. We are forced to use them, we have to have a bank account to receive a salary... and for many other things, we need to have a bank account. So I guess the majority of people still use banks, and I don't think that we can rid of them in the near future.

The percentage of enthusiasts on this market which can afford to completely ditch banks is too low, and the reason for this is simple, even if bitcoin as a form of investing and as a way to buy products online has spread all over the world, it is difficult to find a regular business that accepts bitcoin as a payment option around you, and by the way those debit cards you are using are still part of the banking system, so you are not really using bitcoin and instead you are just using fiat like everyone else.

Who doesn't have a bank today? I think the majority of people around the world almost have a bank for their needs so why are you comparing it to crypto when it's clearly an alternative to banks, and I still use banks today.

I don't have a problem with hacking from banks or crypto it depends on how we use it, banks are not easy to hack because they have a strong security system, when you have a problem the bank will guarantee your lost money.

Who said banks are not reliable anymore? You are too naive to say banks are useless while your daily transactions use what method? Crypto? Is crypto already popular in your country?

In this case, even though I don't like the system that banks and governments implement, I still use it even though on the other hand I am in crypto but I am quite flexible when it comes to bank problems.
Disliking does not mean not needing a bank because in any case when we survive in the life that is done then the role of the bank is still very central for me. Not without reason, banks with their fiat are still one of the supports for life today because after all we cannot start anything without fiat and banks for daily life.
I think in this case maybe everyone's perspective must be different but I personally feel that the role of banks will still continue even though I am involved in the crypto world, especially bitcoin because in the end I still have to be realistic not to close myself off from banks even though I don't like the scheme they are doing.

Are you sure with what you're saying that you're surprised if someone still using it? They're old? I don't think that because they're old or what, they shouldn't be used anymore. I am not promoting to use of them but let's go to the reality that there are several banks left and right in most countries. Even in the US, banks are there and likely being hated because of the interest rates they give to the lenders. Ask your relatives, aside from your family if they're still using one because banks are no longer young.

TBH in this case our thinking is too fixated on right and wrong so that when we feel bitcoin is something right then we will indirectly think that banks are wrong.

Indeed in this case we are always involved in crypto, especially for bitcoin, but that doesmt mean the bank is a mistake.Just because bitcoin and banks have opposite systems does not mean that one is right and the other is wrong. I think this kind of thinking needs to be a little bit eliminated because it is a matter of ego but for those of us who live life the concept isnt like that.
The fact that they have opposite characteristics doesnt mean we have to choose one or the other because at the end of the day we can still utilize bitcoin and banks together. Bitcoin is important for the investments we make for the future and banks are also useful to support our daily needs so there is no need to feel that we are already in bitcoin then we don't need banks because I don't think the concept is like that.

Investing, holding cryptocurrency particularly bitcoin did not and cannot displace the banks. Banks are integral to our existence and economies. There is no time in the world when banks will come to be abandoned because of low patronage or because there are more crypto investors and holders than bank account holders.

Some people may decide to live off grid in a country that allows them to use and spend bitcoins without ever having to change them to fiat or use the bank. Fine. But is is not the reality for everyone.

I will still use banks. And I will still hold and invest in cryptocurrency. It is the fact. Banks just like bitcoin are here to stay.

Do you still use Banks ? Im using only cryptocurrency debit cards and they always work better than bank.
So Im still surprised If anyone still use Banks they are old

Is this reality or just an exaggerated story? First, where do you live? so you can use crypto for your daily transaction needs.

What crypto do you use for overseas transactions? do you use bitcoin? I still use banks because in my country it is forbidden to use bitcoin as a payment currency. The banks in my country are also good, I have never had problems sending money anywhere.

Activities that I can do completely using crypto are when I gamble and trade on the bitcoin market.

Just be grateful that we know about crypto or that we have crypto today.
But yes, I do agree that we still very much need banks in our other financial services.
This is why it won't go away. Besides, majority of the population are still using banks.
Also, if you have a regular job, for sure, your company is sending your monthly salary via traditional banking method.
Many companies, services, and industries are still tied up with the utilization of banking services.
A good example is your mortgage. Do you really think crypto can offer such service right now?

Having cryptocurrency doesn’t take away the usefulness of banks. And going through your thread, it almost seems you’re pitting cryptocurrencies against banks and fiat. Cryptocurrencies doesn’t need any of that as banks and fiat doesn’t need any help showing how vulnerable they’re to inflation and the rest.

You write about banks not being reliable. Yet, almost everyone own and operate a bank account. Why? Cause fiat is still very much in use today.
How then are you going to make purchases and send money for small purchases? A lot of people still use the banks despite it being untrustworthy.

I mean everything still revolves around bank and everything is connected to bank so almost everyone might still use banks, not to mention the fact that we're already getting used with having a bank.
its honestly different with investing though i've never ever invested into bank deposits anymore because the APY is simply too low for me, waiting a whole year for a dime of a profit isn't truly an appealing thing in my eyes therefore I abandoned it and switch over to crypto investment and lately it has proven to me to be a quite bountiful investment that I got.

as for the facilities offered by many banks, i simply can't really detach myself from that, having credit card where you could delay payment is a good thing for your personal finance,
moreover the fact that there are so many discounts offered by using credit card from certain bank already sold me off.
regardless there are many big famous figure that are trying to beat bank like elon musk with his supposed financial app that gets integrated with his twitter, we'll see.

I have a balance in the bank and also BTC. As long as the regulations in my country still prohibit the use of crypto for domestic transactions, I will continue to use the bank. I need rice and vegetables purchased in the local market and supermarkets more than using crypto to buy rice and vegetables from abroad with long delivery times. This is about basic needs, and food has a more significant impact on life and death than the disputes between crypto and banks.

Does this mean I don't support crypto? I still support it because that's why I still have a crypto balance in my wallet. It's the very limited infrastructure in my country that hinders what I want regarding crypto from happening easily. Government regulations play a significant role in the development of crypto infrastructure in my country. Owning Bitcoin is allowed, but using it for daily transactions is not yet permitted.

It's definitely better using crypto for international transfers but I still prefer cash or digital cash for my local transactions. I mean there's no point going full cryptotard if businesses deny your crypto payments for goods and services.

[...]Im using only cryptocurrency debit cards and they always work better than bank.
Correct me if I'm wrong here but don't crypto cards partners with some bank or other fiat payment gateways? You're probably getting charged higher because of the added service to process your transaction.

Bitcoin is Best comfortable for me because it saves exchange charge fees to the fiat. It offers me quick response of transactions and most especially, it encourages my responsible manner of spending because on my Bitcoin financial P2P transactions, I realizes it is really not worth spending on things that are not necessarily important.

But yeah. I still transact with the bank fiat because not all parties wants to have the Bitcoin transactions, some just need the physical cash maybe considering their lack of knowledge and exposure about Bitcoin and right here in my country, the government sectors are restricted but permitted on the individual private sectors. And of course I have transactions with some of the these government sectors which get me also alternatively prompts me to more exposures of the banks transactions.

Yes, a small part of the money I have is still stored in the bank. I own Bitcoin and also keep money in the bank, I don't see a competition between the two and the purpose of Bitcoin is not to compete with any institution. The role of the Bank is also still important to facilitate the local transactions that I carry out, I can also use the money stored in the Bank for my daily needs.

When I go out of town or am in a place where I don't need to carry large amounts of cash, I can withdraw money from the bank as needed. This option is clearly very profitable for me personally, the money saved in the bank means I don't have to sell Bitcoin for small purposes.

Do you use more crypto or banks for your daily or average transactions ?
Do you have had problems with hackers or someone steal money from your cryptocurrency or bank
Do you think banks not working reliable any more ?

For daily transactions, I personally use mostly fiat money, you could even say the majority. Because if I use cryptocurrency for everyday transactions, I don't think I can do that. Because there are several reasons that hinder it, such as crypto places or services that are not widely used in my area.

As far as I can remember, there has never been an incident where I was hacked. Be it from banks or crypto systems.

No, I don't think so. For me, banks still have very good benefits and uses in the financial system. Even though there are some things that I think are not good, they can still be considered normal.

Yes. Of course, your country has regulations by issuing special laws regarding this matter and I am also sure that the government itself will see how extraordinary the level of crypto asset transaction value is. The hope is that in the future, not only your country, but other countries will also open themselves to the development of blockchain technology and become leaders in blockchain development.

Many people trust bank. Though I don't have bad experience (fortunately), I can say it's still reliable to store your money in crypto rather than letting it sleep in bank with very low annual interest. I'm using bank for convenience that's why i'm not completely closing doors even there are already alternative. When it comes to investment, I still prefer Bitcoin and other established crypto.

I have investments in crypto mostly in bitcoin for store of value not for transacting to buy regular goods which is not possible in majority of stores or platforms.
I still use banks it's more convenient to transfer instantly in seconds, and everyone accepts it. if any fraudulent transaction happens then before transacting that amount first i will receive a call from bank to confirm it.
while banks continue to play a crucial role, the significance of crypto cannot be overlooked. It is also vital for banks to integrate crypto services or create rules and guidelines to keep up with the changing money world.

Few people who are involved in crypto currency use bank but some local transactions require us to use bank. We understand very well that investing money in Bitcoin is much better than saving money in the bank so we may consider investing in the bank as the best choice. Those who had bitcoins and sold bitcoins to bank money may now realize that selling bitcoins to bank money was the wrong decision for them. By keeping money in the bank, not only will we miss out on our investment in Bitcoin, but we will also have the possibility of losing our money if the bank goes bankrupt. Crypto users might refrain from keeping money in the bank because of all these considerations.

Yes, since Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is not legal tender in my country, i use bank for local transfer to enable me to pay  for the goods and services they render to me which I need to pay in local fiat to avoid police case in the country. Whenever the price of Bitcoin is low in the market which is the best time for those that have money in their bank to use the opportunity to buy Bitcoin and hold for a long time before they will sell to make income and save the money in their bank account for future purpose. Cryptocurrency and bank are very important to me, and if you are using the two nothing wrong about that but ensure you invest your money in cryptocurrency than bank because you will not make any income from bank when you save your money there.

Nope.

Saving in banks is a waste of opportunities to make profit with your money, and a lot of inside jobs always happens, like some random amount from your account will be deducted out of nowhere and you don't even know who accessed it without even asking for your confirmation and like security code. Worst thing is that they would not even compensate it, just a not sincere apologize because their system was hacked or something else just for an excuse.

Although I have more trust in Bitcoin than banks, I still prefer to use banks to cash out my earnings in Bitcoin. I choose to convert my Bitcoin earnings into fiat currency through a bank to make it easier to access and use for day-to-day expenses. They may be old, but they are still necessary for me to withdraw my earnings.

I use cryptocurrency for online transactions but switch to traditional methods when necessary since not all transactions accept crypto payments.
I have experienced security issues with cryptocurrency in the past, but now I feel safer using a hardware wallet.
Banks are still functioning well, however, I don't trust them enough to keep my money with them.

I haven't taught my family how to use cryptocurrency yet. Some of them are old and might face difficulties in using it. Moreover, if they make any mistakes while using it, they might hold me responsible for it.

You're embracing the possibilities of cryptocurrencies while utilising the steadiness of banks. So why not tip the odds in favour of cryptocurrency? You bring up the significant risk; true, the cryptocurrency markets are erratic, but isn't that also where the excitement and big profit potential reside? We are discussing a cutting-edge technology that completely rethinks money! Bitcoin is a declaration of financial independence, not just a money. People like you who adopt cryptocurrency early are trailblazers in nations where it isn't yet broadly accepted. Just think of the impact when more people accept and comprehend it

Regarding banks, while they are essential, don't they seem to be lagging behind technological advancements? Cryptocurrency democratises finance and is quick and international. Banks manage our money in addition to protecting it. You are in control when using Bitcoin. Furthermore, blockchain technology represents a new method of capturing, processing, and storing information; it is not simply about banking. It's safe and transparent. You are, in a sense, selecting not only banks and cryptocurrency, but also the present and the future. Why not take a slightly more forward-looking stance, where your position will include both investing and visionary work?

What did you think to do in the country where cryptocurrencies are illegal? I can't just stop using banks because I still operate them and they are still important to me, banks save us day by day after all. How will you manage if you come from a country where people do not accept or believe in cryptocurrencies? You have no choice to continue using banks since, in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with doing so. In fact, banks in my country are still operating normally, with the exception of the fact that you do not have any money in your account. You will only be implicated if you choose to use cryptocurrencies as a form of payment.

We hold cryptocurrency as an investment rather than for daily use. When I need money, I can sell some because banks are still working good in my country. I believe that your country is safe, which is why you are teaching your family to use cryptocurrency as a form of payment. In most other countries, this is highly dangerous, and people in my country may believe that they are going to scam them, if we try to use crypto as payment. The fact that the bank won't give me a loan doesn't mean I can quit using them.

Of course almost everyone still uses bank even though there are crypto currencies. We can't stop using banks anytime soon. Maybe not in the next few decades. Most places and merchants all around the work still uses fiat currency. Very few shops or services right now accept crypto currencies. Even if they do accept cryptos, they instantly converts it to fiat currency so that the volatility doesn't affect their business. We aren't yet ready to completely shift from bank/fiat currencies to crypto currencies. That would be a huge change.
-snip-
Im using only cryptocurrency debit cards and they always work better than bank.

So you aren't actually using crypto currencies. You are still using fiat currency to make transactions. And how does your "debit card" works better than the bank? The card you are using is still the same card a bank would provide you with.

Ever since I did crypto trading online, though, I tried to open an account at the bank, but when it was time, they didn't accept my crypto trading so that I could be approved for opening an account with them. Because they want me to have a permanent job or any legal business.

Yes, we can say that using the banking system is mandatory for almost every individual in today's conditions. Unfortunately, in order to make payments especially for businesses located in a different country, it is necessary to use a payment method within the banking system because cryptocurrencies or a similar payment method aren’t yet officially accepted by the governments and the only way to make these payments is to use the banking systems. On the other hand, as an employee of a commercial company, I use my IBANN number provided by my bank and accepted by my company to receive my salary every month.

In other words, I can easily predict that I continue to use banks nowadays and will continue to do so for a while as they haven’t yet lost their importance in our daily lives, are used all over the world and are legally accepted by all the governments of the world.

I still use the bank for several purposes in my work. But not to save my assets. But only for work needs. Because in my country almost all companies will pay their employees at the end of every month by transferring it directly to the bank account numbers of all company employees. And that's why Bank is still needed for me now.

But I always move part of my salary to crypto assets and withdraw part of it and save part of it in an account for my needs for one month. I personally still trust banks if it's just for daily transactions or the like. But I don't do it to save anymore. Because currently I also prefer to hold bitcoin and several altcoins to use as investment and trading capital occasionally.

And actually here it is difficult to avoid the bank system because all shops and others accept payments by credit or bank debit cards. Well it's still quite practical and I don't hate it. I personally prefer everything to go together. Both centralization and decentralization. Everyone can choose freely where they will use it more often.

Your questions are so many, well, let me summarize them as much as I can. We have to be careful about laying too much trust in cryptocurrency, what if it eventually goes, especially if the government had a total crackdown on it? Did I hear you say it's not possible? My friend, it's very possible and if the centralized exchange has been destroyed in addition, people will be afraid to deal with the decentralized arrangements which will almost kill cryptocurrency as a whole. Also, you might have been taking it too far by not having any money in the bank again, fine, cryptocurrency is very good for you but always try to think of the situation where it might seize entirely or a bad thing happens. You might be left with nothing in your approach. Even the credit card companies you deal with still use banks, so be wise.

You can stash your money on other investments too, it must not have to be cryptocurrency only if you are wise, it might be a bitter experience when you get to realize this. Crypto should only be smartly invested in, nothing more, and when you invest in it, do not be an extremist who will act like those who will "put their eggs in one basket" due to current happenings and believe, anything can change unexpectedly. Even if it's for hacking alone, you should be careful in this regard. That alone could fail your crypto plan.

Quote
Do you use more crypto or banks for your daily or average transactions ?
Do you have had problems with hackers or someone steal money from your cryptocurrency or bank
Do you think banks not working reliable any more ?
1. I use more of banks in this regard, I primarily invest and trade crypto.
2. Of course, hacking and theft should be the concern of everyone holding money online, which is why it's good to have several wallets in case of an account compromise.
3. There is nothing wrong with banks, no one can do without them, can you? And you can't spend your crypto in most places. It's just that banks cheat people overall with the sharing of the money kept with them and are not encouraged for business. But this shouldn't stop us from being smart investors.

It may sound like a good idea to spread knowledge, but something's shortcomings are not the reason a new product exists. We are in a transitional period of awareness about many things in life, including the financial system. You can answer for yourself, if not through the bank, where do you get the money to use it?

I don't want to separate which thing is better, because life today is not about winning or losing to see which thing is better. Instead, every product that is born is received and used in a way appropriate to life's context. Maybe people who know about crypto believe in it or simply look for profit opportunities to get back to living, but we still cannot separate centralized or decentralized finance.

I've managed without banks for a long time, but it's hard to avoid all the time, at some point you will need to keep some small money in the bank for the most necessary expenses. And if something happens to this money, it will not affect you in any way. You can completely do without banks, I tested this on myself, but it is not always convenient, online payments still create convenience in some cases, which can save us time.

If at certain times, your money gets deducted from your account and no one can give you a refund nor a reasonable explanation on what happened, I don’t know what banking services you do use, I do know you need to change your bank.
Saving your money in the bank is not necessarily a waste. It’s being kept safely for you although overtime, the value decreases as inflation in the economy continues to bite harder.

Perhaps you would prefer having your money with you at home and open to theft and other unforeseen disasters since it’s a waste of opportunities keeping them in the bank.

The reality is, you and your family can't avoid the bank. Despite teaching them about crypto, how will they pay their electricity bills, clean water, buy food, clothes, etc.? not all countries allow payments other than fiat. You ask the silly question of choosing between trusting Banks more or trusting BTC more? Both still play an important role, unless you live in a country where Bitcoin is legal.

I use Bitcoin and my wife uses a bank. However, for me, having a bank account doesn't hurt because in the end profits can only be disbursed through the state's official financial platform. Use the bank only as needed, we just need to be smart in using alternatives to meet our needs.

As much as we want crypto in our daily transactions, we can't escape the fact that it's not viable just to utilize crypto for a lot of reasons.

*Not all establishment accepts cryptocurrency, not to mention not everyone is aware of it's existence.
*Most of our basic necessities and needs can be bought only by fiat.
*Cryptocurrency may be accepted in some countries, again but not all.
*We can use crypto as a store of value but we still convert it to fiat if we still convert it to fiat to be able to spend it in real life.

However, in terms of storing your money, or doing transactions I would say it's better to use cryptocurrency than bank. There's no need to mention as you are all aware the pros and cons of using crypto vs. banks.

You can't throw the baby away with the bath water. In your own case, has your bank scammed you? Do you have any issues with your bank then go through the right channel of complaint and get your challenges with them resolved. Interphasing is one of the advantages of using the bank.

No doubt it is controlled by the government and that cause the third party interference but as it stands now, the banks are still around and not going anywhere soon.

There are advantages using the banks as you know the charges are far lower than using bitcoin and you can get some credit support from bank if you provide your security. Banks is still the traditional viable means of financial services that the larger number of the people are still using and crypto is yet to get that status of legality and adoption.

I own and use crypto assets. I also invest in Bitcoin actively. But I also still use the bank. In fact, I use paid payment methods provided by various banks in my personal business. So I personally still use banks. I invested in Bitcoin and also have savings in the bank at the moment. But most of my assets are in real estate or property. Because I have more confidence in these investment instruments in terms of maintaining the security and growth of my assets. And I think we really can't avoid using banks nowadays. Because currently there are more and more businesses whose payments prioritize the use of bank payment systems. Even though I am proud to be an active part of crypto users, I still can't lie to myself that I still need a bank too. Because currently, the majority of my customers pay using the bank.

Same here! I'm still using banks, Actually I have multiple savings and credit account in banks because this is one of my essentials in our daily life.
Every transactions using the bank is beneficial for us, just like today's era that all of us are using payment via online bank transfer instead of cash, Even those small businesses, they way they give their employees salary are using debit card transfer instead of cash that's why it's hard to get rid of using the bank especially since everyone is used to it. When it comes to investment, I prefer bitcoin because it will be more worth it when it comes to returns.

In our country, we still often use banks as we need them in our daily lives. Bitcoin is not yet fully accepted in our country, I mean, not everyone is using it. Most people have been using online/local wallets for every transaction they make; fiat is still part of our daily life. Aside from that, there are only a few shops that accept Bitcoin in our country. Even if we wanted to use Bitcoin for payment or sending money, not everyone still accepts it as a currency.

It goes without saying that risk diversification is a must in relation to one's assets. I divided all "monetary" assets into bank-card accounts (UAH and Euro), cash - UAH, dollars, cryptocurrency - bitcoin+altcoins. This realizes the minimization of risks both from problems with banks and with the volatility of cryptocurrencies. But as long as 99% of services I have to pay with fiat money and not cryptocurrency - banking services will be the most profitable and convenient for me.

yes you are right, I am also like that, I use a bank to receive my monthly salary, because the company where I work tells its employees to have a bank as a monthly salary receipt, and I also have this bank account created by my company not by me making it myself. in my opinion living without having a bank account is not a problem, if we can still keep the money we have well and safely, but indeed if for someone who will or already has a business in my opinion they should have a bank account because with the current technological developments many things can be paid online of course this makes everything practical as you said it.

saving in the bank is also good, because the money we have will be safe there, even though every month there is a deduction for admin fees but that is not a problem in my opinion and it is a natural thing.

I am quite sure that cryptocurrency holders still use banks more often for daily transactions, some factors make people still use banks more often than crypto, firstly, if you want to transfer money using cryptocurrency, the recipient must also understand crypto and we know more many people know banks compared to crypto, second crypto users, especially Bitcoin, may be reluctant to use their Bitcoin for transactions because the current fees are high or feel like they are losing out when there is a chance to get more money because the price of Bitcoin is rising, and other factors, so when someone saying that banks are useless maybe he is a desperate person, because banks cannot yet be replaced by crypto, and Bitcoin is considered more of an investment tool than a fiat because its value rises over a certain period

Your topic doesn't make any sense, to be honest apart from making quick international transactions without the huge fees, KYCs and investment purpose we cannot use crypto for all the daily needs and we need to accept the reality as crypto is mainly used for P2P transfer and Investment purpose at the moment. I you even want to buy a loaf of bread you need to money to pay for it as local shop keepers or super market will not accept Crypto.

In future if crypto is widely accepted then we can saw we can rely more on crypto for all our needs accept government related works as they won't accept it.

For now we cannot survive without bank.

A bank is still needed no matter what you say because you will use it when you transact some money. Let's say you receive money from other people as well as in our investments, like in crypto, when we plan to exchange it into our fiat we will probably receive it from our banks. The way we treat crypto right now is mostly as an investment, and only a few use it like a bank. You haven't noticed, but you've been using the bank ever since unless in your area you can spend crypto there, so you won't need the cash.

In this era, banks are still useful, because if I think that the banking institution will suddenly disappear, I can see that the economy will collapse a lot, that's for sure.

Although I know that it is impossible to lose the bank, when it comes to the business industry, banks cannot be irrelevant. So, even though I don't have a bank account now because I'm in cryptocurrency or digital currency, I still can't say that the bank is no longer important. It also helps in other aspects of the business industry.

Bitcoin is a great way to send money abroad quickly without any authorization. But till now, Bitcoin cannot be used all the time because everyone worldwide is not fully aware of Bitcoin. However, when everyone starts using Bitcoin like banks, it will be much easier to make payments with Bitcoin. However, banks are very effective for local use within the country and now the convenience of things like bank debit and credit cards has made it very convenient to make payments. But yes, since Bitcoin has complete control over itself, the payment of HUGE dollars can also be made instantly without any hassle.

Banking industry will stay, they are the biggest financial institution and won't be surpass by any institution.
Who are creating fiat? is it bank? so without bank there will be no more fiat, and it's impossible that bitcoin will take over or crypto since the government will not allow that to happen. They'll lose control, that's their biggest fear.

Though we like decentralization but we cannot deny the fact that we are living in a world where the government promotes centralization, hence will only make crypto as a alternative currency, won't replace the main.

Although I know that it is impossible to lose the bank, when it comes to the business industry, banks cannot be irrelevant. So, even though I don't have a bank account now because I'm in cryptocurrency or digital currency, I still can't say that the bank is no longer important. Personally I'm only using a digital bank, that's the trend now, at least it's easier to transact with digital bank with our crypto assets, and vice versa. But at the end of the day, they still belong to the banking industry as they are regulated by the central bank.

As the world is evolving, banking industry also follows the same path in the form of digital banking.

I don't understand where you're going, do you depend on your bank for loan or what cause why will you expect your bank to provide loan for you or what. I have never seen anyone making money from the bank monthly, for now I use my bank for transactions why will I even use crypto for transactions when most marketers in my locality will not accept crypto for payment and it's very rare seeing a trader that accepts crypto.
I prefer using bitcoin as a means of investment and not daily transactions, I can't do without my bank due to my area, although banks doesn't give full assurance if your money is safe or not now when most bank workers are into fraud but if anything happens to my money the bank will be hold responsible.

I tried totally swaping to crypto platforms and eliminating digital fiat banks from my life, but after a while I concluded the crypto platform I was using the debit card and to exchange BTC into fiat, was charging a very high (hidden) fees on each conversion transaction. I used them for a while, but after discovering that I realized the digital fiat bank was a more economical alternative, so I returned to their services, while accessing another exchange now to make the swap.

Besides that, the crypto debit card I was using still has a salty fee in case I don't use it at least once in a year. Now I have this bomb on my hands which I don't know how to get rid of.

The full migration from traditional banks to crypto banks will be only possible once the crypto ones offer the same economical advantages we have at our currently banks, plus cheaper and transparent conversion rates between fiat and cryptocurrencies.

I find it very hard to believe that there are people that don't use banks completely. It doesn't have to be mean going into the banking halls but you can still use their services online or your debit or credit cards. Maybe there are countries where you can use Bitcoin like we use fiat (anywhere and anytime) but I doubt that. Even in El Salvador which has recognized Bitcoin as a legal tender, you can't live only on Bitcoin because not everybody accepts Bitcoin as a means of payment.

The current high network fees of Bitcoin are also a problem because you can't use Bitcoin for daily payments.
I was about to make a transaction last week when I found out that the network fee was just over $13 for a transaction that was not up to $60. I reduced the network fee and despite using ViaBtc, I had to wait for about 7 hours before my transaction was completed. The network fee I paid was so low that without ViaBtc I would have waited for 2 days at least.
This is one of the issues that hinders Bitcoin adoption.

Cryptocurrency is not to completely stop bank usage, it is only to provide an alternative for use. Banks were the only options before, now there is the option of cryptocurrency. Due to fact that cryptocurrency has not fully been adopted, it is impossible for me to use it exclusively without ever needing the services of the banks.

I can refute your belief about teaching the whole family to use crypto currency and the fact that your country of residence does not give you any other option but to use fiat currency as access to purchase anything. Everyone has the right not to trust banks or decentralized government systems, but how far can you survive without using fiat currency in real life today and is there a way for you to get around this problem. Hacking and theft of money using any technology are separate efforts related to their systems failing but you can verify if you don't want that to happen, by preparing better double security measures.

I agree that this system is outdated and many problems have arisen, but we still need fiat currency to support our life journey because crypto cannot yet be fully implemented in wider life, especially for countries that only provide access only for investment. So describing crypto in general or bitcoin in particular regarding its uses certainly has positive and negative values, but to what extent can we use it for something that is much more useful.

We cannot talk about any functioning without banks. The things you mentioned may happen after a long time, but it is not possible not to use banks for now. We all use debit cards when receiving salaries or buying goods. We cannot ignore these and our job would be very difficult without using them. We don't even have a chance not to use it. Most workplaces give salaries through banks. How do you plan to receive your salary?

We agree with many people who say banks are no good, but it is not currently possible for a bankless environment to exist.

Bitcoin is not yet a legal tender globally, so not using the bank on a regular will only make life uncomfortable for you. For every country that are into bitcoin, none of the 50% population of the country have adopted the use of bitcoin as legal tender and due to the low level of computer technology literacy, you will find out that many people don’t know how to use the internet. So using bitcoin for your daily activities like transactions, shopping, buying and selling becomes very hard, this will make one settle for the use of banks in such cases. I still use bank till date because if I don’t use them, I won’t be able to run some daily activities of mine that has to do with money.

as much as i like to endorse the advantages of using cryptocurrencies, it is still unavoidable to use banks especially for every day transactions fiat money is still what we use in the world and most banks don’t even accept cryptocurrencies so how else would people go about transactions if crypto is not widely used by everyone?

Do you use more crypto or banks for your daily or average transactions ?

I still use banks to make transactions instead of using crypto in transactions for large transactions and small transactions because other than the country's fiat currency I am not allowed to use it for payments.

Do you have had problems with hackers or someone steal money from your cryptocurrency or bank

Not yet and have no problems with this. It's unlikely to happen to me, whether it's a cryptocurrency hack or a hack of the bank I use.

Do you think banks not working reliable any more ?

For me, banks are still reliable because there are no other options.
From a broad perspective, maybe I think that the banking system is no longer relevant to be number one in transactions throughout the world because there is already another system that is easier without having anything to do with third parties and is very transparent, namely Bitcoin.

I teach all my family to use cryptocurrency becouse i dont trust Banks and i think If you can tell your bank mind your business you are scam i told my bank If you not give me loans or credit i dont need you and i close it

I might tell the extended family, but not now. I will wait for the right moment when I can explain fluently based on my knowledge of crypto and Bitcoin.
Regarding the working system of fiat currency with the working system of Bitcoin, I have tried to convey it to a small number of friends and some of them already know about it before me.

Teaching families not to trust banks is not easy to accept because of their ingrained logic that banks are an option to use as a place to store money. And their logic will revolt because they don't know how the fiat currency they trust in the banks works.

Am pretty sure with the coming of cryptocurrencies we want to sell the idea of us being our own banks as we cut out the middleman and other bank charges we are exposed to, but honestly bank's might not want we want but they have their advantages which has allowed them to be in existence for so many years such as providing financing which you can't get with crypto...So short answer,  Banks> Crypto  ::)

Do you still use Banks ?
Yes I do as crypto isn't widely accepted...

Im using only cryptocurrency debit cards and they always work better than bank.
So Im still surprised If anyone still use Banks they are old
If you were to send funds to a fraudulent seller or someone used your card  without your authorization trust me you will appreciate having a bank as you can chargeback which you can not do with crypto cards!

So as much as bank are considered old, they still get the job done!

Do you use more crypto or banks for your daily or average transactions ?
Both...but use crypto regularly for my mobile credit...

I teach all my family to use cryptocurrency becouse i dont trust Banks and i think If you can tell your bank mind your business you are scam i told my bank If you not give me loans or credit i dont need you and i close it
If this is your reason for hating or distrusting banks then you are being unfair to them and yourself because they are running a business and not some charity organization,  so expect them to carry out risk assessments to know who is likely to payback or not... no hard feelings buddy its just business!!

Nowadays, we still have to use the banking system for payments. I make most of my payments through banking. I use Bitcoin mostly as a means of storing value. The level at which I spend and pay in Bitcoin is very low. In fact, making payments with Bitcoin has been banned in our country for a few years. It is free all over the world, of course it is free in most places, but its trade is still prohibited in some countries. If buyers and sellers start using bitcoin, I don't think there will be a widespread decrease in banking activities. As I said at the beginning, bitcoin is used mostly as a means of storing value.

Dealing without the bank will limit our level of transacting with people. Fiat is needed to settle local businesses and clear bills. Bitcoin hasn't gotten to an era where users can easily trade peer-to-peer with vendors in local markets. Bankers may have illicit players in their midst, but the funds are safe. Although the inflation rate keeps dwindling the value of fiat, running away completely from using banks won't help some bitcoin investors. Holding money in bitcoin and spending the few fiat we earn is the right step to take. However, we have to wait until the usage of bitcoin gets too viral like the fiat before we integrate bitcoin as the only currency and neglect banks. In some countries where bitcoin is illegal, trading bitcoin could be a hassle. Cooperating with OP's idea will only cause stress for the bitcoin investors or traders in the region. Selling bitcoin successfully needs the bank to receive the money in fiat. The trader then gets to withdraw and spend.

The only alternative, though stressful, is consistently redirecting our bitcoin sales to the vendor's bank account, then the bitcoin user can move to the store and get an equivalent of his money in items sold in the vendor's store. This method will reduce the rate at which the bitcoiner touches fiat money and needs it. But, considering the numerous utilities that satisfy the needs of a human, one vendor won't be enough. Buying gasoline, paying parking lot fees, helping the less privileged, etc will only ruin the dream of dealing with bitcoin, alone. The bitcoiner won't continue stressing the trader to always help him forward funds to any vendor he meets. Considering the rate of bitcoin fees, in recent days. Contrarily to purchasing products, banks seem less important in saving money for a bitcoiner. Because he doesn't make enough profits saving money in banks compared to doing the same in his wallet. If the goal is to save or hold, then banks are not needed. As for daily transactions, banks are still important.

i can't say that i don't trust bitcoin more than banks, the real fact here is banks are more old than bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency thats why my money felt safe when its in the bank rather than in the bitcoin investments or altcoins , and the number one reason is most of people here in my country doesnt really know what crypto is and most of them are still using banking system not only them but also those business and i hope one day we can spend crypto just by paying.

I do. Why? Because of their apps that allows me to pay my stuff directly when I go outside. I don't have to hold cash and I am scared of viruses that they say that are also sticking to our paper money and that's why cashless payment which has started by the banks is working for me. And the profits made in crypto are also being traded into fiat through bank transfers. That's why even if you are the most hater of the banks, we still have the use for them and it's just a plus that you can mortgage your home from or take a loan if you need to.

The banks can't help you to get rich, they aren't there for providing financial opportunity but for managing your money. The banks are enriching themselves with our money because they understand the power of money and those would know how to attract money gets more richer and the banks are very good at attracting money because they promise their customers of their funds been saved with them then they use this funds for their business and generate profit without owning any money.

I still use bank because we aren't that advanced in my country to be able to use cryptocurrency to pay for everything in my country. I don't use the traditional banks though because they're a pain in the ass but I make use of microfinance banks who are more up todate with latest technology to make baking more better

I combine both and I believe that's the best way to go about this, fiats is still king and it's always good to hold some cash as it can help in times of crisis. Currently there's money scarcity in my country because it's tje festive season and imagine not holding cash this period that things get over expensive and bank network is also getting congested because of alot of people using the network. I don't have a problem with hackers stealing my coins, if we followed the right guidelines we won't fall victim to scams. Make use of Non constodial wallets and don't expose our sensitive information to the public or store our keys online. Differential your savings from your spending account and you can use separate wallets for this if you're spending directly with Bitcoin.

In my country, we only can use crypto coins for investment. We can't use crypto coins for paying goods or services. So, of course we still use banks, we need fiats for daily needs. It is impossible to use crypto coins for the payment purposes because it breaks our laws.

Do you use more crypto or banks for your daily or average transactions ?
We use fiats for daily transactions. We pay goods and services by using fiats.
We have crypto coins in the private wallets or exchange wallets for investment. We sometimes convert the crypto coins to fiats whenever we need fresh money. We can't use it for paying anything in our country.

Do you think banks not working reliable any more ?
I think banks function quite reliable in my country. But there are too many banks here, there are too many options for banks. As far as I know, most people in my country still feel satisfied with bank services. The main problem is still related to bank loan interest, but people sometimes have no other choice.

It's because we still can't used our crypto to buy essentials. We need to exchange our crypto to fiat in banks before we can do that important thing. So yes, I'm still using banks, my credit cards. I understand your concern and everyone knows that, and that is the reason why we seldom put our money in banks. But that institution is still very important in my opinion, regardless of our crypto investments.

I teach all my family to use cryptocurrency becouse i dont trust Banks and i think If you can tell your bank mind your business you are scam i told my bank If you not give me loans or credit i dont need you and i close it

Good for you and hopefully your family will have that kind of mindset. Don't get me wrong though, it's better to have more options and have cash in hand thru withdrawing money from banks or ATM and cash is still King. And if I'm not mistaken, even Satoshi didn't think that bitcoin will eliminate the banking system.

Trust banks- Sort of and something you cant really be able to avoid. This is where i do store up my life savings or emergencies but not all of my money being that letting sit it idle on my bank.
90% of those amounts had been applied or being that used on investment on which i dont really like on that inflation that fiat does have. For you to be able to fight off inflation thing then you should really be
wise on making investment and having business as much as possible or simply having more source of income.

When it comes to the issues of those bank transfers then we do know that it is really that instant not unless if there would really be some clearings or what then there would really be having those delays
which do really sucks. The good thing about bank transactions is about having that possible retrieval if ever things do mess up on which it cant be possible with crypto.

Whether we do like it or not, whether we do hate it or not. Banks would really be still existing no matter what. They are highly centralized institution and it is really just that
it cant really be phased out no matter how cryptocurrency would boom out.

I'm using both banks and crypto, for my transactions I usually use online banking. Is debit card usually issued by the banks? So, that's basically using the bank, or maybe you're using prepaid debit cards? I'm not sure cause I don't think a lot of people are using prepaid debit cards (at least not in the countries I've known).

-I use online banking for daily transactions but I only use crypto when I needed to have transaction with the other person who also uses crypto and when I needed to transfer some funds to crypto vice versa.
- No, I'm not worried about hackers, I know how to secure my wallet.
- Banks are still reliable IMO as they have adapted into the latest technologies such as online bank where you can transfer and receive money locally real time.

There are a lot of different questions that have different answers. Yes, I still use banking system. It's a must, it's hard to live without credit card and bank account. I think it's still too early to go full crypto. I trust banks as much as I should. I try not to keep money in the bank except for my monthly needs. I don't keep a large part of my investments in the bank. I know that in case of a crisis I may not be able to access my money in the bank. Even withdrawing money from the ATM has limits. If you want to withdraw a large amount of cash from the bank, you need to inform the bank in advance. I don't like such limitations. I don't have a lot of money but still these restrictions are not nice, it makes people feel uncomfortable with their own money.

I will suffer when I do not use the current bank system because it carries a small amount of cash that can threaten safety, because the environment around us often occurs robbery and extortion. Some people have different views on banks but we also have to be realistic, that at this time only the bank system that we have can facilitate access to money sending for business and others. I also have the same view as you that using a bank is only for needs and not save large amounts of money as a life savings.

This system does have a level of weakness both when using ATMs and sometimes we are busy with a network that is so slow. Back again for each individual and how they interpret the needs of bank users because for now we still need a bank as a step of life that is a bit easier.

To be honest, I personally also agree with your opinion. Because cryptocurrency is better if used for transactions between countries. Because one of the advantages that can be obtained from transactions between countries using crypto is low costs and fast arrival. So making transactions using crypto is highly recommended. But even so, cryptocurrencies also sometimes have some problems. Like a stalled transaction. So there are drawbacks too.

I think there is a big need to use the local banking system. Both works hand in hand. Crypto is crypto, bank is bank. We need bank to get physically cash for daily transaction or to convert crypto to fiat to use it as a transaction fee to purchase goods an services from those who don't accept crypto currency.

Yes, I really agree with what you say, that banks are the ones who use our money to make a profit for them, maybe for some people who have no other choice in this case they only use banks for their money transfer needs and they have little to save the money he has in the bank.
In this case, of course it really depends on each individual's choice because some people who are not yet familiar with Bitcoin still keep their money in the bank because they have no other choice.

Yes, I agree with saving in the bank. This is different from saving in BTC or the like, this will be very risky, especially if the price of an asset falls and you don't know when it will rise.
So I think if possible I would put my money into various properties and things like that. Because it will minimize losses and will even be very profitable in the future, especially in urban locations.

OP, it's never possible that you can generally spend cryptocurrency like you would your fiat local currency. The reason is that not everyone is going to accept crypto for their service. Perhaps the only popular crypto that most people are beginning to accept for payment is Bitcoin. Apart from some casinos that accept different kinds of cryptocurrency, most other individuals only accept Bitcoin for their service.

You actually need a bank to be able to access your local currency so that you can pay for any service you receive, which does not allow you to pay in cryptocurrency. It is very fast and reliable to easily send payments cross-border with Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, but a bank is still needed to cash out your cryptocurrency in your local currency for you to be able to send it to you.

Yes, I use the bank as it is the most readily available option in my country when it comes to buying and selling goods using fiat as an exchange. In my country, crypto is not commonly or publicly accepted for use in business or running transactions. What we do most with it, is to have it as a store of value for future investment. While fiat is highly in use in our day-in and out activities for survival.

Therefore, banking does not make one as old as you think because it serves as a necessity to have a bank account and it can also meet up with digital means of sending money from one country to another

Cryptocurrency is not accepted in majority of countries and banks are still very important today. They’re still important as they’re there to help manage and keep customers money safe. Loving bitcoin and pushing for its growth doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use fiat. After all, it’s what being widely acceptable and used in the exchange of goods and services.

Banks, along with fiat currency is what almost everyone uses. Including bitcoin holders.
Banks are probably the best place to safeguard your money as keeping large deposits of money on your person and at home is extremely risky.

Currently, the existence of banks cannot be separated from everyday life to store emergency funds, to transact daily needs and so on. So I also still use banks because transactions using crypto are not available in my country. Apart from that, my country also prohibits transactions using crypto and even if caught I will be jailed for violating the law.

But the last part I don't agree with you, for me the bank is only for carrying out transactions, but to save money I invest in Bitcoin, there are risks such as hackers, but we can prevent this by using a trusted wallet and always being careful in saving our wallet phase. Because Honestly, it's not just about feeling confident about putting money in the bank. What about the value? Effect of inflation? Like it or not. the solutions provided by bitcoin cannot be underestimated. Time will surely tell how much of a crime banks have committed against us.

In my understanding, there is no need to be surprised that as long as crypto payments are not legalized by a country, so long as people still use banks and I am here to this day still using banks.
People are well aware that the bank system is too complicated and often not what we want even though the money stored in the bank is ours.
If I want to make a transaction without using a bank to another country, I can do it using crypto without needing to announce to the relevant parties that I am doing it.

Aside from this, the OP probably didn’t notice that bank is still involved even on crypto debit card that he is using since this payment processor is partnered with bank just to make the crypto debit cards to withdraw crypto to fiat.

Using bank is inevitable because crypto is not a legal tender globally. Maybe we can’t use bank for storing most of our funds because we can’t flush out of the system the use of banking system when fiat is still involves to spend our crypto.

You raise a fair point that today's banking systems frequently lag behind what customers truly require.  However, I don't quite follow your statement about crypto payments lacking legalization in specific countries.  People globally already utilize cryptocurrency for transactions, even where formal legalization is still pending.  The primary benefit of decentralized digital coins is that no government or bank wields control over them.

I agree with this, because banks also have their own important role, where in today's life with the development of technology, of course investing in BTC is good because if this is run well in the long run it will certainly be profitable, but not everyone can do it because this is not an easy thing to do, most people fail halfway and stop their investment. so only people who have high consistency can do it.
different from banks that are real in life and visible to everyone, saving in the bank will not be profitable because the balance will not increase by itself, unless we ourselves fill it up, but in my opinion the role of banks is also important, I myself save in the bank, because I think about the fear that one day I will experience something that is not wanted and also need money to overcome it, like an accident or robbery, where the money saved in the bank can be taken at any time we want, just like BTC but I really regret it if I withdraw the money in BTC, so I play both of these things well, because they have their own important roles.

Over here in Nigeria, crypto credit or debit cards aren't that popular at the moment, Infact, it's just a very few number of persons that are using it, and even at that, they still use their banks.

So, in all honesty, we over here still need and use the bank, because even with p2p trades, we still need to bank to facilitate local transfers from a buyer to a seller, as there is no other means of doing this at the moment.
But then, I am particularly hopeful that as cryptocurrency continues to develop and gain acceptance around the world, we definitely will come to the stage where one will be able to totally carry out transaction without ever getting the banks involved in any way.

Do you think banks not working reliable any more ?
I think banks function quite reliable in my country. But there are too many banks here, there are too many options for banks. As far as I know, most people in my country still feel satisfied with bank services. The main problem is still related to bank loan interest, but people sometimes have no other choice.

I think the concept needs to change a little bit because it's not that we are in crypto we should always say banks are a mistake and we shouldn't be there.
Until now, what I feel about the banks that are happening and what I see from some people who are in crypto is that they always feel that being in the bank is a mistake even though if it is examined more closely as long as there are still uses that we can use why not. We cannot close ourselves to one side because we are on the other side and in this concept, in my opinion, it is the same because we also cannot completely close ourselves not to be in the bank only we stand in crypto because as long as both can still be used why not because it is to support life so that we are better.

We have cryptocurrency you still use Banks ?
The bank online many times not working slow Also i want to transfer fast to Canada to russia i cant do that or india to USA i cant do that i need instantly.
Also i asked money my bank dont give so If the bank don't help me to get rich then i dont need them.
Do you still use Banks ? Im using only cryptocurrency debit cards and they always work better than bank.
So Im still surprised If anyone still use Banks they are old

Do you use more crypto or banks for your daily or average transactions ?
Do you have had problems with hackers or someone steal money from your cryptocurrency or bank
Do you think banks not working reliable any more ?

I teach all my family to use cryptocurrency becouse i dont trust Banks and i think If you can tell your bank mind your business you are scam i told my bank If you not give me loans or credit i dont need you and i close it
i could say that almost 90% of the transactions i make still rely on banks, that's why i can't leave the bank and switch 100% to cryptocurrencies, another factor that influences me not being able to switch 100% to cryptocurrencies is because i still haven't Many merchants accept payments via cryptocurrency, this is also influenced by regulations regarding cryptocurrency in my country, i once accepted payments via cryptocurrency in my business but the response from customers was very bad, they thought cryptocurrency was a thing which is not normal if used as a means of payment.

Yes, I still use banks.
Basically, I do it because here in my countries it is pretty much necessary to be able to manage FIAT and centralized assets through centralized services. Though, which it is quite ironic keeping in mind there has been a very bad history here in my country when comes to banks and centralized services.
We have gone through periods of time when people here has nor been able to withdraw all their money because very right restrictions on cash, pretty much nonsense.

Yes, banks are older than crypto but it doesn't mean that banks don't update their services and security, they have strong management and development teams that can maintain systems or upgrade services, in terms of customer service and complaints banks give more space even for transaction errors or fraud, right? I mean stolen funds can be found and frozen, with the databases that banks have.

Crypto is decentralized, they are the opposite of countermeasures, I mean you know what's going on and all actions are in your hands, including confidentiality and sent transactions.

The security tips of the two currencies are of course broadly the same, do not click on random links, keep personal data on paper protect your confidentiality.

In terms of value, it is different because crypto is not controlled and supply is mostly limited, and in terms of getting crypto it is easier by hunting bounties (optional).

I use a bank to convert Fiat to Crypto, and vice versa, and keep both finances split 50% sometimes more, to facilitate cross-world transactions. ;)

As it stance, Bitcoin is an alternative means to make financial transactions but it has more potentials of assets which is basically a P2P  transactions demands so since most Person's still have doubt while some are totally strange and has no interest about Bitcoin, more of financial transactions are made of the fiat banky currencies.
At my end here, appreciable number of conventional traders are yet to be accepting bitcoins payments in their business so basically, in as much it is just few that do accepts Bitcoin for payment, I uses more of the fiat for my payment transaction outside the world of Bitcoin and Crypto currencies in general.

That is a good endeavor @OP but the problem is not all merchants accept cryptocurrency.  Like the one online shopping site where most of us in our local use. They do not accept cryptocurrency so how can I transact with them if I don't have a bank account?  Cash in delivery might be an option but how can you pay them if we put our money in cryptocurrency or our source of income is majorly paid in cryptocurrency?  One way or another, we will be forced to use banks for money conversion or transfers.  And I don't find it wrong to use banks for such a purpose.  It is that I don't use bank for savings or keeping my money though.

Because control over decentralized digital coins is still not held by the government or by banks in most countries in the world, this makes it easier for every bank user to make transactions on whatever exchange they want. So this can also be a special benefit for crypto users at this time because decentralized digital coins are controlled by every government and bank. Of course there will be many regulations that can prevent every bank user and cryptocurrency user from complying with what the government says.

So each user is no longer free to carry out transactions as they wish, so I think it would be better if decentralized digital coins were not controlled by the government or banks so that there is a little freedom for users in terms of transactions and it doesn't make it more difficult for them when making transactions. Moreover, currently there are many regulations that can be changed by the government if they do not benefit the state in the new aspects that are introduced into the economic sector.

I'm part of the select few (although not really few so to speak) who still has a foot in the banking industry. Most of the money that I have on file is stored and saved in fiat, while the money that I have in bitcoin and crypto, I use for investments and for passive income. The thing is that, hateful and inferior as banks are, they offer something that you can't find in bitcoin, and that is "insurance". You find a bitcoin wallet/platform provider that offers that kind of option for you and I'll immediately switch all of my assets into bitcoin, til then my money stays where it is. And to top it all off, the rest of the planet is still working in dollars, so if you want to live a fulfilled life and enjoy the perks of your income, might as well increase your credit limit by letting the banks trust you as time passes by.

Yes, I still use the banks. I still use fiat and as far as you fiat you still use the banks because it's the banks that distribute the fiat you use. How am I going to use only Bitcoin when a lot of people and businesses don't accept btc?
For a person to use only Bitcoin then everybody he deals with is digital and also accepts Bitcoin and currently, it's very difficult to see that. It's easier to use Bitcoin online to fund casino accounts and pay for other services, but offline, very few people accept Bitcoin.
Currently, it takes less time for a fiat transaction to be completed than a Bitcoin transaction except you're ready to pay the network fee.

I do, and it's not because I like them but it's because I need them. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency transactions are not very common yet. In most parts of the world, you can't make a single purchase using Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies, so I don't see any reason for me or anyone to have no access to cryptocurrency debit cards or shops and stores where those debit cards can be used. Banks, despite all their problems, are still a big part of our financial lives and we can't help but accept it.

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can only be used as an alternative for banks if all the things that are done with cash or cards right now are possible with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. I wouldn't bother using a stablecoin for my groceries if they are accepting it but if they don't, I don't have a choice.

There are many reasons why I still use banks today as a means of saving my money, even though the amount of money I save there is not very large, the presence of money in the bank can make it easier for me to buy daily necessities. Having assets in the form of Cryptocurrency does not mean we cannot use banks or other platforms to store money. There are times when assets in the form of Cryptocurrency should not be disturbed, such as when transaction costs are large or the price is declining.
Around where I live there are no Cryptocurrency debit cards available to make it easier to carry out small transactions, so we always have to hold fiat money to buy things we need.

Is there anyone who can live without using fiat? I doubt it because there are things you cannot buy using crypto and there are services you cannot pay for using crypto. For instance, when using a public transport, you cannot pay your transport fare in crypto, you cannot pay artisans like a plumber, barber etc. in crypto. You cannot buy food stuffs in the market in crypto. Perhaps, in developed country but still not 100%. I think the only place you can live completely on crypto is El Salvador. So banks have their challenges but are still important.

Yes I also consider BTC more transtable than the banking system. However, in the current context, the situation has not reached that stage that we can give up the banking system or use of banks. One of the main reasons is that Cryptocurrency is not legal in all countries of the world, in my own country Cryptocurrency is illegal and the government is already arresting people associated with it. So in those countries, it is impossible to imagine buying anything using cryptocurrency in his daily life.
Moreover, if you notice that the world's big giant e-commerce sites have not yet accepted Cryptocurrency, in this case, when we order various products to fulfill our daily life needs, most of them have to be paid by fiat currency through our bank. Yes I have been a victim of hacking using cryptocurrency and lost quite a bit of money, but I think it was due to my own carelessness here. If we even get to that point. Even if there are no banks over time, their place will be taken by the central bank with its CBDC, which people will be forced to use for both everyday purchases and online purchases.

One of the main reasons is that Cryptocurrency is not legal in all countries of the world, in my own country Cryptocurrency is illegal and the government is already arresting people associated with it. So in those countries, it is impossible to imagine buying anything using cryptocurrency in his daily life.
I doubt that Cryptocurrency (bitcoin) will ever (in most countries) be made a legal means of paying for goods and services. CBDC (surrogate cryptocurreny) is being prepared for this role.

Moreover, if you notice that the world's big giant e-commerce sites have not yet accepted Cryptocurrency, in this case, when we order various products to fulfill our daily life needs, most of them have to be paid by fiat currency through our bank.
It would seem an amazing phenomenon. What is the problem for e-businesses to integrate “electronic digital money” (bitcoin) to accept payments? But we still have to use the services of banks or other alternative services (like PayPal). So far, cryptocurrencies don't fulfill their direct function.

Yes I have been a victim of hacking using cryptocurrency and lost quite a bit of money, but I think it was due to my own carelessness here. Because of this, my trust in cryptocurrency has not decreased a bit.
Not being able to use a (financial) instrument correctly and for its intended purpose doesn't mean that this instrument is bad.

Good to hear about an experience from that side of the world. I do not know Latin America's banking system is so strict. The region though is very big, I only expected strict laws in Columbia and Mexico where illegal drugs and underground activities are rampant.

I did hear about a lot of potential in Latin America for crypto. Nicaragua is the first country to legalize bitcoin. There are also rumors that big-time miners are planning to relocate their plants in the region. Also, I heard about some schools in Argentina adopting bitcoin and crypto in their educational curriculum.

Here in Southeast Asia, banks and their other financial subsidiaries are still very important for regular transactions. Crypto is also growing but probably unlike your region except for Singapore.

In El Salvador, you also won’t be able to pay for everything with cryptocurrency, because not everyone accepts it. Yes, you are right, we will not be able to pay for our daily needs with the help of cryptocurrencies, for most countries at the moment it remains impossible to even pay for some major needs, like refueling a car or something like that. I think that’s why they want to introduce CBDC and show their advantage over Bitcoin.

OP has his own rationale for why people still use banks when we already have cryptocurrency.
In some countries, the use of cryptocurrency and the use of fiat currency can be done simultaneously. Bitcoin ATMs located in a number of countries show that people are free to use both simultaneously with the advantages and disadvantages found.
In some countries, two types of transaction systems cannot be carried out simultaneously because they are regulated by state regulations.

This is not about the system. When it comes to systems, then the banking system is too bad for me to mention. But this is about value.
Money stored in the bank no longer belongs to us but to the bank. Storing money in the bank is also not a good option as a store of value.

and they'll always be needed. We live in a capitalistic world; would you expect the banking system to one day cease to exist? Probably not. There'll never be 80% Bitcoin adoption; it was not meant to replace fiat currencies but to co-exist. Expecting the banking system to slowly fade out is not realistic. Even El Salvador has stated that their Bitcoin experiment wasn't adopted as much as they were anticipating, as the majority of people simply redeemed the sign-up bonuses and never bothered again. While Bitcoin is supposedly their main currency, it's alongside the U.S. dollar, which further proves my point that these two are meant to exist together.

Bitcoin offers freedom, but usually it's unconvienient to use daily. There are better options for this, such as stablecoins or altcoins such as XMR or TRON, but even though card purchases are and will remain the number one option for the majority of the population, including most of us here,.

I hold for the banks in case of emergency funds, and additional with it is the perks of using the banks like rewards and with the use of the CC. But in terms of investment its not ideal to use the banks for investment even though they are offering because just around a small percentage like 1% APY its far from the other platforms offering savings with at least 14% APY this can be a big deal to them, base on my experience on the banks have a locking period which takes a lot of months before you've got your profit so better still you have your asset if you need. Banks can be a storage or a tool for loan with your business and investment if you manage those properly you don't need to get worry to become rich.

Banks will remain and stay relevant until our payment methods are changed from traditional to digital.

As long as we have fiat in circulation, then bank will exists for a long time. Not to mention, bank institutions are the only way in order to store our money in a relatively safe manner due to the fiduciary relationship created between the bank and its clients.

While this remain true, cryptocurrencies are slowly changing on how payment channel works. If more and more countries would adapt and adopt it to various payment applications, then cryptocurrencies may very well be the "future of money" as previously mentioned in this forum.

The need for the use of banks is still quite large among the public, especially for business people who always carry out fiat currency transfer transactions to support buying and selling activities. The banking system does have a level of weakness and perhaps almost everyone has experienced how their network is so slow when people need fast transactions to support their business. I also hold bitcoin as an investment and this has been going on for the past few years, but I still need fiat and banks for other support.

In general almost many people still use bank services and quite a few people use cryptocurrency debit cards. You can not rule out importance of Fiat as is the means of transacting, if not, most transactions in most climes. Cryptocurrency should be tackled & seen as an investment venture for future gains. Till crypto is fully accepted across the globe Fiat will still be the order of the day.

Issues raised concerning conventional banking also affects crypto as well but by and large FIAT can not be easily eradicated like that at least not now

I think that cryptocurrency is used just for the purpose of investment and trading because in our country most of the people are not knowledgeable about crypto investment. In our country people often use country's own currency for payment method so for such purpose they use banks yet. Those who are government servant are still using banks as their salaries are available only in banks.

I don't think that with cryptocurrency popularity the system of bank can be decline because everything has its own benefits. Actually we can easily perform the activities of buying and selling with the help of bank but I also don't say that crypto transactions method is hard but I mean that we cannot make such transactions with everyone because not all humans are aware of it.

If we don't use bank, then what are we expected to us? When Bitcoin is not generally accepted in all region. Even though Bitcoin is accepted in our own region, there will still be merchants that would never allow or accept Bitcoin for a trade. We need bank for transaction especially when we want to sell our Bitcoin into fiat. Those that understand the process it takes to do p2p trade knows what it takes. For now, there is not way we can do without the banking system.

No matter what things that been added into this market on which people would really be still trusting up banks, they would really be sticking into something on which they've been get used into.
Dealing up with crypto might really open some new idea and opportunities but we cant really be able to deny that we are still that reliant or really do make use of bank services.
It isnt really that bad on making yourself deal with both things as long it do really fits out on what we do prefer and we do know on what we are doing then this is what matter the most.
There are really just those people who are really that already skeptical on making use of bank services due to that too much centralization and being that monitored.

In my side then i do make use of Banks on the sense that i do put up my fiat savings here but it is really just into those amounts which are really that good for emergency purposes
but huge chunk or % of those savings are really that been put on investment and business for me to be able to generate out more income and this is something that
we would really be much preferred if you do really have those kind of future plans ahead but if there's none then you could just simply site idle.  :D

Frankly, I still use a bank because most of the share I earn comes from my real job salary. I can not just furiously put that money into Bitcoin. However, Bitcoin is one of my investments and not the use case. I am doing transactions all the time but they are either to move my coins from a soft wallet to a hardware wallet, or some charities, or rarely for my usage. On the other hand, Bitcoin serves only the purpose of holding and earning profits along the way. I am not making any excuses for using Bitcoin for everyday transactions but the issue of fees, long durations of confirmations, and less availability of physical vendors make it limited for me. In my country, it is not widely accepted yet plus patience can not be tested here for walkthrough services.

This is why I still have to rely on the banks no matter what. I think this will not change for another 2 decades since Bitcoin has to overcome the above issues and also it mayhappen that in the future when Bitcoin price keeps growing it will end up having more scalability issues.

Because in the end this is a choice so regardless of whether it is in bitcoin or does want to be in fiat all depends on ourselves. We cannot impose the will of what we feel to others because however for now being in bitcoin or being in fiat all have the right to do what they like.
Being in bitcoin is indeed very good if indeed we have the same thoughts to do it in bitcoin but not everyone thinks like that and we must realize that being in fiat will also be very good for those who think it is good.
I personally don't really mind everyone whether they are in fiat or in bitcoin because they know what they are doing is already considered right. I personally am still in both as my option to survive in the life that I do because I still feel that this is a creation that was created to benefit us so it depends on how we react to it. I use fiat for my needs in daily life and I use bitcoin for long-term investments that I make in the hope that my old age will be worth it and enjoy the results of investments made early on. It's quite profitable for me and I'm happy with what I'm doing at the moment.

99% of my shopping activities to date are still dominated by debit cards issued by banks, moreover there are many bonuses that I can receive if I use a debit card at the supermarket, it's not that I don't want to use crypto currency, but in my country the rules prohibit using crypto currency as a This means of payment is very unlawful, only the rupiah is recognized here, even other countries' currencies are not allowed to be used as a means of payment in my country, banks still control my financial activities to this day, it is still difficult for me to get out of it.
Many people still choose to save all their financial needs for shopping in banks, even though several countries have legalized bitcoin, but bitcoin tends to be used for investment. Moreover, in countries that have not regulated the use of bitcoin as a means of payment, you will be subject to the law if you make a transaction using bitcoin as a means of payment. It is impossible for us to save all our finances in crypto for daily needs and investments, I think we have to distribute each finance according to our main duties, save money for life needs in the bank and save investments in bitcoin, that is my current choice.

This talks about how someone can take advantage of something easier and maybe not everyone is able to operate the sophistication of new technology and that is why people still need the old banking system for their life support processes in the financial sector.
This is one of the reasons why banks cannot be completely eliminated in the financial system. Business people need banks to make their financial transactions smooth, even though some of them don't fully trust banks. Do you know? Banks may be the reason why you are required to pay tax on the results of your work - but this is not about taxes, but your financial privacy.

Cryptocurrencies can be a great option to do something similar - especially when it comes to financial transactions. You don't need to queue to send money anywhere when you reach the sending limit from your ATM card. Of course there are many more advantages – but perhaps this has been discussed enough.

So far, as far as I know, many people store their assets in banks because maybe when they want to use them for transactions, it is very easy because currently there are many Electronic Data Capture (EDC) facilities in several shopping places, which make it easier for each user to carry out transactions using money stored in the bank. In other places, there may still be a few who accept payments using cryptocurrency because price changes are unstable and transaction costs are quite high, so people really consider using cryptocurrency to purchase life necessities.

Personally I don't use banks, since I got into crypto I use Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies for my money transfers.

But to be honest, we have not yet reached the level that makes us able to completely abandon banks from our economic life.

You are not into banking service anymore, 100%?

It is because that even the full time crypto folks, still have to use the banks for any service that they offer mostly in transfers because not all the merchants and shop use bitcoin.

Whilst we dont like some banks because their policies and centralization, we still need to use them and usually in transfers and conversion.

That's the problem because business people are used to using the old system where they trust the banking system more as a step to support their financial transaction processes and almost all business people still use banking services for all of that process. Tax issues may be a part that many people don't like, especially for those who frequently make transactions, but it's about opportunities and that's the only way they can support the smooth running of the business they run.

I think everyone who understands crypto will agree that there are many advantages when we use it, but generally speaking this is not yet fully implemented because people out there still need banking. We hope that in the next few years what we want will come true and maybe it is only a matter of time.

I have several bank accounts but all the bank accounts are empty because I don't keep much money in the bank. When some local currency is required then some money need to be transferred to bank through p2p transaction and by bank transfer I withdraw those local currencies through ATM. Basically I use bank account for all these general transactions. I have a personal savings account in another account that I use in case of additional financial emergencies. I kept some money in the savings account so that I don't have to sell my investments at a loss in case of a big financial need. Apart from that, I have never felt the need to keep a large amount of money in a bank account considering anything else.

I don’t believe that there’s anyone here who can claim that they do not use banks anymore. Because how then do you get the fiat you use to pay for things? It is not a new information that Bitcoin isn’t entirely global to the extent that we can use it for everything we do.  Currently, stores are beginning to accept Bitcoin as a means of payment but it’s not so much yet. So the average thing you want to purchase, you will have to pay for it with fiat. Do we have an option? No. So, we have to use the bank anyways, at least until Bitcoin stands its ground completely.

The one that has been most frequently used for transactions is clearly Bitcoin, although this does not rule out the possibility of other altcoins that usually stand alone or are directly connected to Bitcoin.Of course, because Bitcoin is very widely used and always provides benefits for its holders, it is certain that many people will want to hold it and use it as an attractive investment.

Even though crypto is already commonly used, the need for banks is clearly still needed because there are still many people who need it for other purposes through banks. But if you invest in a bank or in bitcoin, it is clearly better to invest in bitcoin because the profits you get are many times higher than investing in a bank.

Honestly, it's not safe to carry out all your money while travelling or if you are going to the public places. You are only attracting criminals if you do. So the question is, is it good to save it in the bank or in crypto? In my opinion, both can be a good place to save your money, it's just depends on whom you prefer. If you just want to secure your money, just save it in the bank. If you want a profit while saving your money then go invest in Bitcoin. I believe that Bitcoin is security is better than the bank, if you know how to keep the key there's nothing to worry.

It is better using Bitcoin, in case one is already pretty much familiar with the handling of this kind of asset, also, one does not need to carry around the private keys of one's wallet in order to do transactions. It is not always a good idea to have the bulk of one's money on us, as you say. There is a simple technique to handle small quantities of Bitcoin while keeping one's private key safe.
For example, let us assume you have much of your Bitcoin in a hardware wallet and you are going for vacations to another country or another state of your country. All one needs to do if use the wallet to sign several transactions of 100$ or less would go to a secondary hot wallet we could carry around or even to our Binance/Coinbase account, so it can be easily turned into Fiat as we need.

Using the bank is also acceptable, but I personally like the idea of controlling the fees, rather than accepted those imposed on me by a third party company.

It is given mate that you are asking in bitcointalk forum in which majority are bitcoin supporters how could you expect someone to accept using banks more than bitcoin?

but let us accept the reality that there are still many of use that is using banks for deposit or cashing out as there are countries that has strict regulation about crypto.

but I am not using banks to store my funds or to cash out , but never that I will leave my money on them as i trust bitcoin(and some altcoins) not to banks.
Yes we are in a BTC forum, but it does not mean everybody here are using only BTC as their currency or payment method. Keep in mind that before BTC, we already have fiat/banks, & others. And it may be hard for someone to let go of them (just like that) right after they discovered Bitcoin.

Another reason is, like you said, BTC is not yet legal in some countries. There are some who just banned it, and there may be some who are going to have that status later on. It was sad. I hope it won't happen, and I hope others who banned BTC will now allow it. I still believe that some banks are honest. It's just that some, or many aren't, and it affected their reputation. I feel sorry for them :(.

What I see is actually different, because when a shop is willing to accept cryptocurrencies such as stable coins for payment for goods in the shop. Most of the shop owners are also willing to accept Bitcoin for payment because the shop owners themselves have also realized that the best cryptocurrency is Bitcoin, not other cryptocurrencies, although cryptocurrencies such as stable coins can also be used to buy anything on the exchange because the influence of the many couples there.

That's why banks are still needed.
We can't remove the fact that even if let's say that there will be 80% of adoption for Bitcoin, there will still be people that prefer to stay with fiat and businesses as well.
You can't everybody with this piece of tech and new money that we're dealing with and spreading the word across the world. That's the reality.
and they'll always be needed.

That's true, it's going to be needed no matter what tech in finance goes up. Don't get me wrong, I am for Bitcoin and crypto.
But we live in a realistic world as well where most of the people wants cash, all of the business wants money that they can quickly liquidated.
With crypto, it's fine because they can exchange it as well but if you're in a business approach, it's different that these establishments want cash and that's with the banks.

Do you think banks not working reliable any more ?

I wish I can avoid banks but it is not possible. Banks will always be a necessity. Even Bitcoins.that I hold cannot do the job that the banks do. While my family will have Bitcoin holdings banks will still be used to save monies until crypto and Bitcoin becomes mainstream. For now though, when traditional people think about the issues with Bitcoin that is yet to be resolved, they'll either choose to own a spot Bitcoin ETF or keep using the banks.

There are some people who are still not familiar with bitcoin so it will be quite difficult for them to get involved in investing. Talking about a long-term system will make some people who are not familiar with Bitcoin panic more because of price fluctuations that occur at any time. Likewise, the failures that people experience are caused by a lack of knowledge in investing.

different from banks that are real in life and visible to everyone, saving in the bank will not be profitable because the balance will not increase by itself, unless we ourselves fill it up, but in my opinion the role of banks is also important, I myself save in the bank, because I think about the fear that one day I will experience something that is not wanted and also need money to overcome it, like an accident or robbery, where the money saved in the bank can be taken at any time we want, just like BTC but I really regret it if I withdraw the money in BTC, so I play both of these things well, because they have their own important roles.
The banking system has been running for quite a long time and banks have become a kind of alternative in human life for carrying out transactions over long distances and near, so they really help the processes carried out by humans. There are many people who still need banks for their financial plans in business and the service sector and this system makes it easier for them to carry out fast transactions with business partners abroad and within the country. Saving money in the bank will not be productive because we cannot make a profit, but it is better to make the percentage of savings in the bank with the investment we make in bitcoin more balanced, so that all needs can be minimized and most importantly enough to meet life's needs regarding the use of money.

People will use the systems that governments allow them to use. If central banks implement their idea and introduce the CBDC, then perhaps the banking system will be changed, but for the population the essence will not change much, they will be able to use banking products, and governments will control their every step.

It is difficult to avoid using banks, but in order not to expose your funds to any threats, just keep enough in the bank so that you have enough for the bare necessities, for some everyday expenses, but no more.

Do you trust your life wealth more btc or Banks
•  I trust Banks more

My understanding is that banks and Bitcoin are two different things, but they both have different uses, they both need each other, you can't be optimistic and be prejudiced, Bitcoin is used as a crypto/digital currency while banks are a means of storing paper money, the uses of the two are different, that's the main point.

Bitcoin can be sold and disbursed in the form of paper money, of course banks are the main means of disbursement, if you hate banks, then how do you withdraw money, Talking about wealth and trust, whether economically, of course banks have been used by people long before Bitcoin was issued.

So regarding trust in assets of course I trust banks more, talking about investment and trading I trust Bitcoin more, not in assets, but as I said above, basically both need each other.

You should make a fourth vote, the opposite of point three, trusting both Bank and Bircoin.

Bitcoin is not only serving as an asset alone just to keep but it's also what we have to use as a medium of exchange, being a digital currency, we are expected to spend it, also hold some portion on our personal wallet and kepp, in cryptocurrency, other cryptos may not be acceptable as a means of payment like bitcoin, bit people value bitcoin and uses it for serving their different purpose in the financial economy.

Saving money in the bank every month must have a fee that must be paid, which is taken directly from the account. Personally, in my opinion, the amount is not too big, but if the bank continues to charge this fee every month in the long term, if you think about it, it will definitely be quite a large amount. So this will be a bit burdensome too. But it can't be helped, that's the bank's terms. So it's natural that you are no longer interested in using a bank. Because the rules and regulations are a bit burdensome. I personally still use a bank, but to minimize my monthly bills a little, I decided not to use an ATM card, so the monthly costs are a little cheaper.

This is true. I don’t see Bitcoin being able to fully replace the banks because even if it could handle all that transaction, transactions fee is already a big enough challenge to face. Imagine online stores that accept Bitcoin as mode of payment, some will stop accepting it (at least for a while) because maybe they need the money instantly to restock or something. Also like you mentioned, the Bank is already a part of our lives, people will find it difficult to entirely leave it (unless Bitcoin can beat it transaction-wise).

I don't know for others, but as for me Bitcoin is not for daily spending but for investment and trading. And before one uses Bitcoin for daily spending or transaction, the person's country might have adopted Bitcoin to be a legal tender. As for my country we are still using banks very well. We can't buy things with bitcoin and there is no Bitcoin ATM around us so we us the fiat banks very well. Though it has been long used the Bank to withdraw money. I always use the online banks to make my transactions.

As for now in most countries bitcoiers can't do transaction to buy things without fiat.

Not a big surprise that they majority people here on the forum trust Bitcoins over their banks. After the 2008 financial crisis with the collapse of several big banks I am quite careful when it comes to storing larger amounts of money at the banks. I am still required to use banks every day for my transactions, because I get my salary in FIAT money and also have to pay my bills in FIAT money. Our whole economy is based on using banks and quite a few stores are stopping to accept larger amounts of cash. Before the covid pandemic I only used to pay with cash and leave my debit card at home, but now it becomes harder and harder to only rely on cash. It would be nice to switch to only use Bitcoins, unfortunately most stores still don't accept cryptos. I do get a lot of scam mails every week from my "bank" which wants me to open suspicious links. But since my bank has their own App, I would never receive such legit emails directly. From crypto hackers I didn't receive any emails so far and I am trying to be cautious as much as possible. Banks are definitely not as safe as Bitcoins, my solution for that is to spread my money out across multiple banks and never rely only on one bank.

Some are really going all in into crypto, that is, if they are already in this market and have the knowledge on how things are going here.
But I believe, the majority of the population are still tied up with their banks one way or another.
And most crypto users here are still using banking services for so many reasons, such as mortgage, salary, remittance among others.

I have never put any money in the bank, and I will not put any money in the bank in the future. Because I think I should not put money in the bank knowing about the most popular currency currently Bitcoin. Because inflation has increased in our country, money is losing value day by day. I invested my money in Bitcoin to protect against inflation. Besides, I have to deal with various problems to withdraw money from the bank, but I can quickly withdraw my money from Bitcoin as needed. Also long term investment will help me to earn high profit.

Also, I advise those who keep money in banks in my area to invest in other sectors. I ask everyone to invest in gold, silver and land. But if a close friend or relative I suggest him to invest in Bitcoin. Because bitcoin is illegal in my country can't advise everyone to invest in bitcoin.

If it interferes with the use of commodities, it will violate the laws applicable to legal payments in the country I live in.

I can't help but have to keep using the bank as the main payment.
More often use banks for Online payments like basic goods, tax payments, water fees, electricity and internet etc.

But for long-term investment, I still hold crypto, hold Bitcoin and some altcoins that have good potential in the future.

I hold crypto and still use banks. Hard to imagine nowadays life without banks. Payments with cash are limited or monitored (if you buy something that cost 1000+ EUR with cash, you need to show ID, or payments more than 5000 EUR arents allowed in cash in general). We are so used to paying with card or app, that cash is no longer needed. While crypto swings from side to side like small boat during the storm, while there is no clear understanding with fees, people will still use banks.

Every person has their own preference on how they will store their assets.
Some are really going all in into crypto, that is, if they are already in this market and have the knowledge on how things are going here.
People who already have knowledge will certainly know how to save their assets and will not remain silent and continue to make steps by continuing to enter the market with the aim of profit. So it is quite clear that each person must have their own preferences in safeguarding assets and in seeking profit while safeguarding those assets.

Quote
But I believe, the majority of the population are still tied up with their banks one way or another.
And most crypto users here are still using banking services for so many reasons, such as mortgage, salary, remittance among others.
Banking services are still used by many people from all walks of life, but everyone certainly knows when it is time to use bank services and when it is time not to use bank services. Because not everything needs to be linked to a bank, although most things still use bank channels to bring money to any exchange or to any virtual account at this time.

In general banks are still needed by most people because the only reason why people still use them is because this is a product that has been around for a long time and is guaranteed by the government. Banks limit payments using ATMs because of limited transaction limits but people usually use Tellers to send more and maybe the queuing process makes people a little more bored of waiting. But because there is no other choice, whether people like it or not people will continue to use this method as an easy step to choose.

Crypto is used or permitted only as a commodity asset in my country so people will definitely use banks as a product whose legality is much more guaranteed by the authorities. Because if people insist on using crypto, they will face legal problems regarding any payments in my country.

If you know of anyway to keep money off banks and still be able to get everything you want then please tell me, because it's impossible to do all things that requires money without using your bank

I don't keep money in the bank, but when I am in need of things or let's say I want to restock food items at home I always exchange my stable coins into Fiat and get sent straight into my bank account, through peer to peer trade though, this is the only reason why I am still using my bank account.

Honestly this is not going away anytime soon, as someone told me the other day that CBDC will replace Fiat and there won't be physical paper money anymore, I still told him that if CBDC is the only thing that remains I will still treat it as my bank, only send money I am ready to spend right away into the account and use it on things I need.

I think it will take a very long time if I want to move away from using banks.

I prefer all my major or bulk of my  assets in cryptocurrency rather than save it as fiat in a bank In fact to make matter worst there is a growing high rate of inflation in my country thus saving my money in my local currency in the bank amount to losses in the long run instead I converted it to Bitcoin and hodl in a wallet I only sell bit via P2P if necessity warranted me to do so and get some fiat that is fiat needed for my daily upkeep is save in the bank, meanwhile I don't think I have any challenges with the safety of my Bitcoin with regards to whether the wallet can be hacked or not I have already put in place the necessary features to protect the wallet.

All the services and styles you listed above are good, crypto is not the only way to store and make money, in fact, to me, crypto is still a very risky way to store and make money. It's the people who started investments in this crypto-era that are often freaked with this, I know the risk of investments, so I distribute my money wisely instead of believing that cryptocurrency is one safe-haven. I wonder how some people talk about cryptocurrency, some hardly have any money in their banks due to this. Fine, it's their money, but I would like them to be thinking once in a while if something bad just happened in the crypto space, how would they feel? This is why no matter how an investment means is sure for you or even makes you happy, you need to diversify your portfolio, it is the best. There is nothing wrong with investing in other physical properties even as investing you in cryptocurrencies. Banks' investments is not so discouraging but guaranteed in most cases, and the same is the investment in some companies that can give you as high as 20% per annum. One shouldn't think about the bigness of the money all the time, big money investments sometimes entrap.

bitcoin offers security, decentralization and transparency for transactions, especially for international transactions it helps users who want to transact more quickly. but even so, what bitcoin offers doesn't make me replace the bank i have now with bitcoin completely because there are many things i can do with a bank that i can't do with bitcoin, and vice versa.

for example, for loans you can get them from banks, payments to merchants, vehicle and home financing, local transactions between people with lower fees, and even for bitcoin to cash withdrawals you use bank services. and therefore you are too naive to completely replace banks with bitcoin because it is almost impossible.

and what's more, satoshi's goal in creating bitcoin was not to replace banks, but to create an alternative payment that complements banking features.

Why would really be having that kind of confusion if you could really be able to make use of both? You wont really be needing to choose up if you could have both on which making use of both
things on which you would really be preferring into .Whether we do like it or not on making use of banks but still they would really be that relevant no matter what on which it would really be just that a common
approach that they would really be that still be used despite of crypto boom. There are services and features on which we cant really be able to resist on making use of banks.
Good thing about crypto existence is that we do really have at least the choice on things that we do tend to do.

It is really just that there are people who are really that hating up banks so much when it comes on being centralized which is really that totally
opposing when making use of cryptocurrencies but we wont really be that blind on not to see about its pros and cons too.  :)

I like bitcoin in all angles of use case but I'm limited to use it, in fact ban by CBN in my country. You still expect me to go ahead and do against the laws? The commercial banks and other financial system were ban from facilitating bitcoin transaction. Now imagine, I have some bitcoin, how can I spend it even if I can use p2p to change to fiat, it's still involve fiat which must be from the banks because you need to spend it and the locals recongnize it as one and only legal tender

Some people that use fiat use them because it's the law and what the court hold to protect and you don't dare go against it because something you want instead of what they want. However, let me ask you, how do you plan to pay this huge fees on transaction on a single input and output everyday, don't think it is the best for daily use transactions though.

I don't have a bank account, but most people still use the bank, and the majority still trust the bank. The only ones who don't trust the bank are mostly communities here in the cryptocurrency business.

And I may still have trust in the bank but I don't think of putting a large amount in the bank, I would rather hold money for cryptocurrency than Bitcoin. Of course that's because I have an idea and knowledge about cryptocurrency compared to the bank.

If you don't have a bank account, how can you buy Bitcoin? Are offline outlets still widely available in your country? I'm skeptical about that.

I don't think so. As long as cryptocurrency relies on the internet for faster development, internet banking becomes the preferred choice for many people to buy cryptocurrency. Whether it's a peer-to-peer purchase or through an exchange, you'll still need a bank or PayPal for money transfers. Unless you enjoy the hassle of buying with cash. That would take up time and space and is not very practical.

And I may still have trust in the bank but I don't think of putting a large amount in the bank, I would rather hold money for cryptocurrency than Bitcoin. Of course that's because I have an idea and knowledge about cryptocurrency compared to the bank.
Can your knowledge of cryptocurrency make you richer than the richest person who keeps their money in the bank? Cryptocurrency isn't a life-or-death thing, so you can still make the most of what a bank offers if you want to.

I agree with you, even though they already have crypto assets, they still keep their money in the bank for their shopping needs and also send their money because not everyone uses crypto and it is not possible to make payments using crypto, so you still have to have fiat money to be able to they shop for the necessities they need and also pay for the work services they need.
I myself only use the bank to send money and also shop online and also use crypto to invest because I think saving too much money in the bank will not be profitable for me and will only benefit the bank.

Population with person using bitcoin around the world under 1% and I don't sure with many people not use Bank for their transaction, how possibility when going to traditional market and there are only acceptable cash payment will allow to pay using bitcoin? fiat payment difficult acceptable in traditional market and how possibility with bitcoin using for payment currency indeed just fewest countries support with bitcoin payment. Not blame with bitcoin benefit when adopting as payment transaction but some time when huge traffic of block confirmation how to get benefit using bitcoin as payment transaction waiting more than one days for receiving bitcoin fund?
I can't ignore using bank although in the future bitcoin have been legal payment transaction in my country because many people still not get enough knowledge using bitcoin.

I agree that banks provide familiarity and security for daily transactions and deposits. But aren't we clinging to the past? Cryptocurrencies are driving financial change. As crypto fans, we know blockchain technology can change how we transact and value. This is about joining an unstoppable movement toward decentralization and financial autonomy, not just making payments or stockpiling riches

Smart crypto investors strategize, not just gamble. They understand the importance of diversification. By investing in fiat and crypto, they're smart and safe. In an increasingly volatile financial market, this is about being prepared for everything, not simply hedging bets. This is a mentality transformation, not just an investment plan. The future belongs to blockchain supporters who grasp its potential to transform our banking system. Banks have their role, but the future? It's blockchain-powered, digital, and decentralized

Either all you do are part-time jobs, or work as a handyman, or you are paid in envelopes. Cant imagine if you would have to purchase something expensive. You going to bring a briefcase with cash or what? How you going to solve the situation, when your amount of cash starts to grow physically? I would say I currently trusting my fund to Bank more than to BTC not because Bank is better or more secured, I think Bitcoin is more secured, but currently Bitcoin is not a legal tender in my country.I don't have other options, I need to have Bank account to swap my Bitcoin into local fiat so I can spend the money to fulfill my needs.

There maybe other option like Bitcoin Debit Card, but it's very rare in here, and the fee to use it is too expensive. And I believe I am not the only one, I think most people in this forum has the same case with me.

I often shop at online shops and I always use a bank for the payment method, even though there is a pay-on-site feature, for me personally I am not comfortable because I am worried that the item I ordered will arrive while I am not at home, so I pay through the available payment methods, one of which is a bank.
I think it will take a very long time if I want to move away from using banks.
More simply use a bank to support your daily life, both to buy goods and other needs, and for the rest, use Crypto for investment assets. If both can be used simultaneously there is no harm because in our time we must be able to keep up with all developments.

For purchasing problems in online stores, you can visit stores that already have many followers and read descriptions of people's comments. I have a clothing shop and so far I have had an online shop ordering service, now you don't need to come to the shop to shop because there are quite a lot of online shop services available that people can use. There are two payment models that you can use, paying directly with the bank or following the COD system.

Every country needs fiat money to meet daily expenses. And to keep money safe you must use a bank and that's why every person must use a bank because so far in every country around the world Bitcoin can't be used legally and payments can't be made everywhere like debit and credit cards and that's why we still have banks  Although we know about and use Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a potential currency, but it has yet to create an environment for widespread use. But maybe in the future people will accept Bitcoin everywhere but it will take many years. therefore, it is not possible to avoid banks at present yet

Yeah obviously I use both and I use them from different sides. Maybe I can transact with crypto, but it's only with friends who are also using it.
If we look at the times, there are now a lot of digital wallets that offer convenience for their users. In fact, I don't see any young people who don't have a digital wallet or e wallet.
I also sometimes use it, besides banks I also use e wallets. Inevitably we have to keep up with developments, including challenges like this. And undeniably, it has its benefits before we can really use crypto fully in all aspects.
