Title: All thanks to my family they contributed and bought bitcoin for me
Post by: Dailyscript on December 14, 2023, 11:48:33 PM
I don't want the year to come to an end without having any Bitcoin. I have seen a lot of people here talking about their bitcoins and how their investments are going. The thing that gets me depressed the most is when I hear about the halving next year and how bitcoin prices may be influenced positively. I wish i could just have some amount of Bitcoin. However, seeing the price of bitcoin now i became restless if the price will soon go higher and i may not afford it. So i pleaded with my parents if they could support me. Seeing how curious i am they helped me with some amount in my local currency so i used it to buy Bitcoin. Help me thank them for what they have done for me. Am so happy right now.

This is the amount in my local currency i believe it will get me up to 90 dollars of bitcoin. I am waiting for my friend who will help me buy it by the weekend.

Thank you mom, Thank you dad. And thank you Bitcointalk.

Though it good for family members to aid you in achieving your dreams but however I don't see it as tangible enough for a contribution for an investment of this nature because I know how you must have tried to convinced them before they were able to put it in consideration and decides to contribute money for you to buy Bitcoin.

Investing in Bitcoin is an achievement every bitcoiner would want to have but in the quest to buy Bitcoin shouldn't make us go extreme in trying to convince someone or a group of people on the need for them to raise funds for you in order to purchase it. But notwithstanding, seems you've got a very nice family for them to contribute in order for you to be happy because I know you're very happy now that you've bought Bitcoin. You would have also made a more clear and precise detail image(s) of how you bought your Bitcoin.

Think long-term. It's not as if this will be the last time that bitcoin will go up in price lol. If you think in years to a decade, you're going to have enough time to stack up some bitcoin. Just don't be complacent and start earning money! (unless you're in school.)

Congratulations OP for having a supportive family and finally having your Bitcoin.

My only advice is that, don't ever do panic selling, instead accumulate Bitcoin as much as you can then enjoy the profit whenever new all time high happens. You could also look for services that offer bitcoin in return for you to have more bitcoin aside from waiting for someone to help you. You could start ranking up your account here by posting threads that are worth the merit to easily rank up and join any signature campaign that will fit your rank.

Congratulations to your Investment and thank you to your family to make it through so better that you will make sure to them that
your investment is worth their trust and still that is a long way to go as it is just a small amount.

and make sure also that you will add more and more from this investment because this is just a little comparing to how much the
value of bitcoin now and that amount is just a peanut to expect growing much in a year or two.

It is always a great thing to actually get what you want but bitcoin been funded by others donation isn’t it. From your post I saw how eager you are just because of the halving coming which is not kind of good because you are actually focusing on the profit side of bitcoin only without taking into the risk side. This money given to you by your parents doesn’t look like something you can afford to lose which is one of the focal points of buying bitcoin.

Also since you already have the funds with you, I will advice you keep it in your local currency first and then go and have the basic knowledge of how to buy the bitcoin yourself from any exchanger and then set up a personal wallet by yourself, this way you don’t need to trust even a friend to do this things for you as it will be risky to do so

I want to know how old you are and why don't you earn money yourself to invest in bitcoin, why do you have to ask your parents for money? And do you expect that with that $90, bitcoin will make you millions? Because honestly, 90$ invested in bitcoin won't make a big difference to you, you need to invest more than that.

Instead of sitting there and wishing, I think you should find a job, work hard and you will have money to invest in bitcoin. Bitcoin's journey is still very long and we still have a lot of opportunities, not only is the bull season coming and then everything will be over. Don't think and have such a short-sighted view, it can easily cause you to make hasty and wrong decisions.

Congratulations OP. You took the very first step to investing on Bitcoin. No matter what don't sell. Despite the price surges, if you hold it long enough you'll see the actual result. Many holders doesn't have that kind of mental strength to hold long. As a matter of fact, they start  selling when price starts to drop. Just buy and hold. Halving is near and I'll make the price go up again. The only thing you'll wish why you didn't bought more.

I bought some when BTC was at 26k$ and now it's 42k$.  ;)

Hey OP, Congratulations. Since you are able to invest in Bitcoin because of your parents, I congratulate your parents. All parents should be like your parents and encourage their children to invest in Bitcoin. But your parents got it right and invested in Bitcoin at the right time. Every parent should keep their children invested in bitcoins for future savings.
But I request you to keep the bitcoin invested by your parents in proper wallet. Nowadays wallet security is very important and you must be careful about this security. So that your wallet passphrase can never be hacked, keep it in the right place in the right order.

This is a good way to start lad!

It's good your parent came through for you in making sure you are able to buy your Bitcoin and I can only imagine how rewarding and happy it must have been for you seeing that you have a support system that has brought you dreams through.

Accumulating an $100 worth of Bitcoin isn't a small feet to be honest, it might look too small for some people but I tell you it marks the beginning of a great journey that lues ahead of you in the future. When you start accumulating bigger amount if bitcoin, you will look back to this day that you made your first purchase and you will smile and be happy you did.

Do not think like that, if someone that did not knew anything about bitcoin read your post they may think that this was the last time bitcoin will go up in value and this was a chance you will miss forever.

And this is false, even if now you have a small amount of bitcoin, it is not enough to bring any change to your life, however this is not going to be the last bull run of bitcoin, so you have a lot of time to get a good job and save as much money as possible and prepare yourself for the upcoming halvings.

Well, everyone who knows Bitcoin exists would like to hold any amount, especially with the current state of the market. Congrats on your investment with Bitcoin, I would just like to say that do not feel FOMO with others' experience in the crypto industry especially with Bitcoin cause it might lead to impulsive decision-making. Good thing that your parents are supportive of you cause any amount would do as long as you know what you are doing in this industry, hopefully, you could make a profit with that amount. I suggest that this month there's a lot of opportunity to make money like having a part-time, from that you can use those funds for your investment journey so you can be consistent with your investment.

Why you are waiting for your friend when you can buy it yourself? I would suggest you to learn about Bitcoin buying and storing it safely in a wallet yourself because in the world of crypto-currencies trusting someone else is always going to be a risky thing. If someone gets access to your private keys then they can do whatever they want with your Bitcoin.

Although, you have taken a good step by investing into Bitcoin but it seems like that you don't have much knowledge about Bitcoin storing or how to have your own personal wallet or how to purchase Bitcoin your self. I would suggest you once again to learn about Bitcoin purchasing yourself it's not that hard and then you should also try to learn about Bitcoin wallets.

I suggest you to learn about Electrum wallet and air-gapped systems. You should also try to save your private keys and seed phrases secretly because if someone gets access to those then they can transfer your Bitcoin without your knowledge. When it comes to private keys and seed phrases then it's better to store those at 2 places one should be a proper SSD or flash drive that only you can access and that should be totally disconnected from internet based system and the other should be a paper. I would also suggest you to not keep your Bitcoin at online exchanges.

Thank you mom, Thank you dad. And thank you Bitcointalk.

Have you thanked your parents directly? Because posting a thank you note on the forum won't make any sense when your parents aren't on the forum. Furthermore, do you have plans to invest in bitcoin, or do you just want to own some bitcoin before the halving just to satisfy your curiosity? I think that in order not to disappoint your parents, you should have a plan and do something now to create a result that makes your parents proud of you. That's something you need to care about more than showing off to everyone that your parents gave you money to invest in bitcoin.

Congrats on entering the world of crypto. Now for the important part, you need to protect this crypto because there are tons and tons of scams out there.

Your best bet is to use a hardware wallet but if you can’t find one in your area then just take an old laptop, remove the WiFi adapter and set up a electrum type of cold storage solution.

It’s free and you will never get your crypto stolen.

To me Bitcoin is better to invest than other coins.Did you force your parents or convince them about Bitcoin then they agreed to pay you.I don't know if you explained to your parents if you did it was good.If you want to take money from your parents and invest in Bitcoin, it might be a good decision for you.
But you say waiting for your friend to buy bitcoins you can buy bitcoins yourself with your own native currency.

Well, first of all, good luck with your investment and congrats on having money to invest. But the thing is, yes, it's a good thing that you have supportive parents or family that support your investment and support what you want to do. But the thing is, I hope you know what you are doing. I don't discourage you or say that asking for help from your family and friends is wrong, but you should not always hope that they have something to give you. Or, the important thing is, you should know the weight you have. Just because you have capital for investment from others doesn't mean you will not be careful in what you do. You should think about the people that support you.

Don't hope that your investment will have an earnings return. Bitcoin is long-term and I hope the ones that help you have capital will also not hope for a return because you may end up disappointing them.

It's nice to see that you are now having your Bitcoins and now you are enjoying the  price cause once the price will go up higher then one thing for sure you got your profit. Anyways nowadays it's good to buy Bitcoin and hold it cause as we see that the price is now increasing and it will more increase in the next day (just my Opinion) and also I salute to your family who are giving their full support to you and then they bought  Bitcoins for you.

It's a bold step to have a stash of Bitcoin compared to those of us who doesn't have but while trying to achieve a goal you shouldn't be pron to mistakes like not putting yourself in a good condition before investing.
The fact that you're desperate to have Bitcoin shows your interest on the profit of the halving next year but well it's not bad after all the point for investment is profit making right ? but I will like to put you in the better direction, what I see from your testimony shows that what you have invested in Bitcoin is what you cannot afford to lose, your parents gave you money to invest in Bitcoin which means you're not the owner of your money, if unfortunately Bitcoin goes the opposite direction and your capital is lost what exactly would you tell your parents happened to the money they gave you? Which means you're not putting in consideration what is required for investment. mind you I'm not tryna criticize your action but make correction. instead of rushing to buy when you don't have something that you can do without is really bad but at least you got something so congratulations to your achievement.

If I have to thank your parents I think they should be able to see this. Congratulations to them they have a son/daughter who's tryna make them proud.

OP, a big congratulations to you and I appreciate the effort that you family made to make sure that they were able to give you $90 for you buy your first bitcoin. It means that you family has made you proud on this as your dream have finally come true. What I want to tell you is that if you are not a student or too young, you should go get a job or something that will give you an income, so that you can start buying bitcoin on your own. It is good to use your own money to invest and not other people money, so that you will be able to grow your investment. This is because I don't think that your parents will still give your another funds to buy bitcoin. You should also take note that bitcoin gives profit when you hold it for a very long period of time and if you are thinking of selling this bitcoin in the next bull run, then you got it wrong. Hodli and increase your bitcoin through regular DCA.

Congratulations for buying your first Bitcoin. I am always pleased when I see people who are investment-conscious. Instead of wasting money on pleasures, they prefer to use it for something profitable. But I hope you will earn your own money to invest in Bitcoin. You shouldn't rely on gifts from family and friends to invest because they will not always support you. Don't also expect to make a fortune from the $90 investment because you might just make a small profit.

I bought some when BTC was at 26k$ and now it's 42k$.  ;)

Everybody wants to buy Bitcoin now that the price rising because they want to make a quick profit and this is the main blunder people make about investing in Bitcoin. Most of them are just driven by FOMO without having a long-term investor mentality. There are cases where they will not be patient enough to keep your hodling and end up selling them prematurely and will end up calling Bitcoin a scam because of ignorance. It is not wise to prepare for the bull run or halving when we are close to or already in the period.

For some $90 may seem like a small amount, more like a mere pocket money but for some (like me), it's a massive amount to start with. Because where I live you can feed a family of four an entire month with around $100. So yes, as you can see it differs from place to place. Only OP can clarify this now.

OP, always remember with smaller smaller steps we cross thousands of miles. And again congratulations mate.

Are you really asking for the age of the op? Even if the Op tells you his/her age what good what it be for you? And besides they can just tell you whatever age that they want to, so it’s actually pointless to ask for the age of someone in a forum that’s high on privacy.

You can clearly see that the op knows nothing about bitcoin, and that’s probably the reason he wants to own some bitcoin before the halving and it’s not their fault. If you go through this forum and also on different platforms you’ll see different people discuss about bitcoin halving and also the possibility of the price of bitcoin getting to a even greater price than it has ever gotten to, so if a newbie should come across such information they’ll be tempted to look for money to invest in it so that they can make profit when it eventually happens and I bet that’s what happened in the case of the op. He does not even know how to buy coin himself that just shows how much of a newbie he is.

it is a good thing to have people closest to you who support you in every investment decision. i congratulate you on your first investment. but maybe right now the investment you are making is not that much, but as time goes by and you become more experienced, i am sure that you can increase this investment and reap profits from your investment.

don't forget to protect your investment and not let it be hacked by other people. you must secure your wallet first and do not share the private key with other people. and another thing is don't panic when the price goes down, keep holding on to it, because patience is an important key in investing in bitcoin.

Even though your amount is small, you start investing with this small amount of bitcoins. But before you start investing I want to tell you to keep your stored bitcoin wallet seed phrase very safe so that no second person can find out your wallet seed phrase. Here you said you will take help of friend for your bitcoin investment so your wallet must be safe. I would also like to tell you that you should get a lot of experience about Bitcoin and investing before making a big investment in Bitcoin. This is not the last investment opportunity, many opportunities await you ahead. Do not rush to invest in Bitcoin Rush is not beneficial at all.

I have nothing else to say than to say a big thank you to your parents for making your BTC journey a smooth one.
Am also very sure your parents understand the idea of BTC and the decentralized network in total, else, the reason why they support your BTC dream and even go as far as getting you some .

You should on your own part decide upon the best and most secure platform or wallet to use to secure your BTC or cryptocurrencies.
Am very sure also that your family would be hoping to gain some profit from your dream as regards investment in BTC or cryptocurrency in general.

Congratulations on your purchase of Bitcoin! Smart, especially since the halving is coming up soon. This kind of thing has historically increased the value of Bitcoin, therefore the timing must be correct. Parents who teach their children about money have our respect. Bitcoin is not simply about teaching digital currency. It also teaches personal finance and contemporary economics.

You and many other coin investors utilize it as a hedge against the possibility of an unpredictable market. The value of bitcoin fluctuates a lot, but it will increase. The first people to purchase Bitcoin were even modest investors. You've joined the global decentralization movement. Wishing you luck in the world of Bitcoin!

Your words sound flowery and beautiful, but I don't think bitcoin teaches us about personal finance and contemporary economics. I mean, not everyone comes to bitcoin for its decentralization or the privacy and freedom it gives us. Many people come to bitcoin with the sole purpose of profit, meaning bitcoin is just a tool to help them get rich and if they get rich later, I don't think they will still need it. So, say bitcoin teaches us about finance, privacy, decentralization...it depends on each person's goals. OP can't wait to own bitcoin before the halving, it's like he just wants to speculate on bitcoin to make a profit.

Am so happy right now.

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/12/14/EYfwb.png

This is the amount in my local currency i believe it will get me up to 90 dollars of bitcoin. I am waiting for my friend who will help me buy it by the weekend.

Thank you mom, Thank you dad. And thank you Bitcointalk.
Congrats OP for having such supportive parents, not everyone is as lucky as you.
There are some who would support their child no matter how hard it is for them, they would still find a way to do it.
And also good luck on your Bitcoin or investor's journey, hope that you would also be successful so you could show your parents that their help to invest in crypto wasn't a waste of their hard earned money.

Accept my congratulations OP on your investment journey, but I must mention to you that one thing is to start, another thing is to remain consistent and maintain what you've started. $90 dollars worth of bitcoin is a good start, but you need to topup that portfolio if you need to get very good gains like I view from your tone that you're expecting. Your parents are heroes for supporting you and believing in you even though they may not have understood anything about bitcoin, your enthusiasm paid off. I think you need more worth of bitcoin to get good gains come the bull run and my candid advice is this:
You're a dependent, so I don't intend to coerce you to go looking for more funds from anywhere for investment. I think you need to be very much more serious in forum activities and your engagements here, continue struggling, rank up, and possibly when you must've joined a signature campaign you can save your weekly pays and accumulate good quantity of bitcoin that can give you something tangible by the bull run.

It does not matter how much you are investing in your future. What matters is how can you secure your future, keep your Bitcoin in a safe wallet, and keep the wallet backup somewhere safe. You should be thankful to your family for giving you this opportunity, not everyone here is that lucky.

Absolutely you are amazing with braveness and decision want to invest in bitcoin exactly first time your investment raised $90 for buying bitcoin, you one step closer become success investor in bitcoin although is not really huge amount and earned profit more than 50% to 100% you need waiting bitcoin price above $80k. Just stop bad imagination when investing in bitcoin is the quick way to be rich because need progress and you have waiting longer time for bitcoin raise more higher price in the future exactly with halving moment will little help to make bitcoin pump.

Congratulation with your first investment OP, don't be panic when some time bitcoin dropping drastically and your have prepare with strong holder mentality when bitcoin increase lower price because CZ if said “If you can't hold, you won't be rich!”

So I like that your parent believe in you and decide to help you, not everyone has good parents like you, as some don't even care what you are doing, just don't drag them into anything, that's what they are after.

But I don't like the sound of your friend helping you to buy, since you have been hearing about Bitcoin, not all of a sudden, you should have done your own research and do the buying yourself, there are many tutors about this online and even on YouTube, if you plan to sell in 2024 or 2025 are you going to call your friend to come and help you again?

This is ridiculous, you are not helping yourself at all, knowledge is power, if your friend can do it so can you, start learning about how to use crypto exchange and which Bitcoin wallet is best for you, and stop relying on friends to do something for you.

True, parents nowadays do not listen to their children, especially those from low-income homes. That is why it is so important for kids to have a parent who is willing to listen to them before making a choice. I'm sure Op's parents didn't know much about Bitcoin, but they support it because they see their son's dedication and willingness. Even if they only give you $90, it's enough to determine whether you can actually make it profitable. If he can show it to his family, they will undoubtedly increase their support and provide you with additional finances.

However, seeing the price of bitcoin now i became restless if the price will soon go higher and i may not afford it.

Think long-term. It's not as if this will be the last time that bitcoin will go up in price lol. If you think in years to a decade, you're going to have enough time to stack up some bitcoin. Just don't be complacent and start earning money! (unless you're in school.)
Bitcoin halving will just pass by so you should not be affected that much, but if you think for long term, like 5-10 years, you will surely reap huge amount of profits in the future as you have all the time and chances to accumulate bitcoin regardless if you buy it little by little. Being restless is always a bad sign, so learn to get rid of it as good investments make you feel secured and comfortable, and not make you irritated and restless.

Well anyway, it's great to know that you have supportive parents all the way. I do think they don't actually understand bitcoin deeply, but since you're into it, supporting their child is what the most that they can do. You really are lucky with them.

Congratulations for the journey to Bitcoin. But you to move the Bitcoin you will buy to a non custodial wallet because keeping them in the Centralized Exchange is not good because anything can happen there. In everyone life determination makes one's life destiny achieved. And that is why the parable says, "idle man is a devil work shop". One have to think and work out what to do to change is life.

It is not all parents can do what your parents have do e so you have to take them serious, they really what your well being. And probably they helped you to secure some Bitcoin because they are not ignorant of Bitcoin. Because a parents without the carnal knowledge of Bitcoin can't do that. Your parents must have heard about bitcoin before. Be careful with the journey. Avoid unknown links, and strange messages, text and call. The period is dangerous.

Congratulations to you on the purchase of your first bitcoin and I must say, you have a wonderful family that is eager to see you excel, not many had this rare privilege. But then, why wait for your friend to but for you when you can buy Bitcoins by yourself? It is obvious you are new to Bitcoin and have little knowledge about how it works. You can do better, it is good that  you have a friend who is knowledgeable about bitcoin. Let him teach you all you need to know about bitcoin. You can learn from other sources too so as not to be misled. You need all these information so you can have a plan and a strategy for yourself so as to get returns on your investment.

  • do you want to trade bitcoin?
  • or you just want to buy and hodl for a long period of time?

You can only answer these questions sincerely if you understand what exactly you are doing and not base on what you've seen or what you were told. Note that for every wrong move you make, their are potential consequences.  Congratulations once again, I wish you luck.

Congratulations on your Bitcoin investment! I hope you will continue to invest and earn more to treat your parents to a nice restaurant or family outing someday. It would be best to thank your parents for supporting your investment decision, as many parents are skeptical about earning money online. Please don't waste this opportunity that your parents have given you. Remember to be grateful and take advantage of your opportunities. Not everyone is as fortunate as you, and some parents don't even entrust their money to their children. Therefore, please invest only in the most promising cryptocurrency projects, and avoid wasting your money on worthless tokens.

Your positive thoughts about Bitcoin and as a newbie investor you are welcome. You are new in this platform so before investing you should know better about bitcoin because bitcoin is very profitable in bullish market but in bearish market that is terrible for newbie. Besides, if you increase your investment in Bitcoin after knowing the security aspects and how you can hold Bitcoin, then it must be considered a safe investment. This can be a positive aspect for you as you are getting good support from family. But invest money that can afford to lose.

I hope OP will hold on to his bitcoins and not sell in the coming panic. This is possibly one of the most ridiculous post I've come across today, good thing this forum does not censor underaged posters and possibly stop them from signing up or posting, else, I think op is totally an underaged poster.

Anyways, congratulations to you @op, I am not saying it's wrong for your parents to buy bitcoin for you, but what I meant by what I said above is that, not every thing that happens in your private live you post on a public forum like this, and it's not mandatory you create a thread here is you don't have something really good to discuss, telling us your parents gave you money to buy bitcoin is completely childish, and to even know that you can't still buy the bitcoin yourself but you are waiting for a friend to come help you buy it - makes me wonder what exactly you have learnt since you joined this forum.

Anyways, best of luck to you, and hope you don't end up being scammed by that so called friend of yours

Sometimes when something which has taken other people a while to achieve is freely gifted to others, they may not value it so much like the people who have worked for it because of the ease with which they got it. In this case, the better hodlers are people who have passed through all the obstacles and hurdles coupled with trying to get and hodl bitcoins after they have invested.

@OP, Don't become the investor in bitcoins who does not value hodling because they did not spend their own money to get the investment that they have now. Be a committed hodler who wants to have results, so the people who invested in your dreams will be proud that they helped you.

Congratulations on achieving your dream! It's fantastic that your family is supporting you. Now that you have Bitcoin, the next step is to learn more about it, especially the security aspects. With your funds in hand, it's crucial to discover how to keep them safe so they won't be taken away. By understanding the security measures, you can watch your Bitcoin investment grow without worrying about theft.

Here's a friendly piece of advice. don't panic and sell if you see the Bitcoin value decreasing. Markets can be unpredictable, but as you continue to learn about Bitcoin, you'll grasp its patterns better. Take the time to explore and absorb information, ensuring you make informed decisions about your investments. Keep learning, and your Bitcoin journey will become even more exciting!

If the bitcoin halving is what is making to invest in bitcoin now on how the price is going to go higher, then why not invest more till another halving? You would be surprised to see how your investment will boom to the moon. I am sure you are not a long term investor that much, you can invest for the next halving and you will as well get a good profit from it if you wait till bull run after halving have taken place.

This is what every parent will want to do for their child when they have the means of doing it. Investing in your childs positive dream is an investment in yourself when you think deeply about it. If the investment goes well, you’ll all benefit from it even at a later time when you’re not more strong to provide for the family again. Your determination and persuasive words made your parent believed in your dream and invested in you. For choosing to invest in bitcoin for you, they did the right thing. Do learn the basics of holding bitcoin, secure your account so that your investment will be save for years to come for how long you prepare to keep it.

Though it good for family members to aid you in achieving your dreams but however I don't see it as tangible enough for a contribution for an investment of this nature because I know how you must have tried to convinced them before they were able to put it in consideration and decides to contribute money for you to buy Bitcoin.

It is a tangible achievement they have done for him, not all parents do invest in their child and for it to be bitcoin, they have done well of an investment in their child. This is not about the child only but for the whole family. I see no reason why it shouldn’t be celebrated or the parents praised for what they have done for the child. The end goal is stack up some bitcoins legally, how to get the legal funds shouldn’t be a huge issue if you have one that can give.

End of all you are lucky to have supportive family members member. In many family they don't obey their children's decision they force what they like to do. But you get different. Best of luck and go on.

I think there is a tendency to look at bitcoin as a kind of financial lifeline, and it has that quality, an example is you, you are allowing yourself to "invest" in an asset that gives you possibilities of profit, but the best thing is to be able to hold bitcoin for the whatever you want and spend it how and when you want, even send it 24/7/ 365 (*although some conditions currently apply... :) )

So, also think about financial "freedom", which not only implies the power of money, but also the decision and control over your money.

...//....Thank you mom, Thank you dad...
Well done, of course, this young man who will one day work, and pay your parents, even if bitcoin does not give him the returns.

@OP, First, I am wondering how old you are and what your occupation is. If you are actually a full-grown adult, that means you are supposed to have had a job you are earning from, which will allow you to invest your own money in Bitcoin without the help of your parents. If you don't have a job that you are earning from, that means you might end up selling off your Bitcoin when you have some needs.

Never the less, if you are actually telling the truth, I will encourage you to also try to get a means you can earn from because that is what will help you invest more in Bitcoin.

From the receipt you uploaded, there is no amount, and we don't know how much you invested, but if you actually invested only $50 or $100, then you will not actually make any significant profit, which is why I say you need to get your own source of income to be able to invest more frequently and be able to accumulate more Bitcoin that can generate a huge profit for you.

This is great news and you’re lucky to have a parent that cares for you and really supported you in your investment goals. Being proud of your parent is the best thing to do as they are all you got even when the world turns their back on you. Try and keep your bitcoin save in a decentralized wallet to make sure that you have the private key to your fund to avoid theft. Waiting for your friend to help you and buy some bitcoin shows that you are still a newbie in this field, take your time to learn and understand everything by yourself.

I am not trying to being more skeptical here, but kids is an African money transfer app that I think you can use to send money locally and internationally. And I don't think if there is any BTC buying option in KUDA app. I did not used it till now but I visited the website and saw some features and the app itself I did not saw any btc buying method but we can buy US stocks.

Maybe I am wrong here but you picture also not verify that you have bought any BTC or not. As there is no btc address, BTC amount or hash written in the details of yours. Or the case is you just get payment from your parents kuda to your kuda app and still not bought any BTC yet?

By the way if your case is legit then I am happy about you and how your parents and even friends are helping you. It is a good thing but in the obsession of buying more BTC don't borrow money with any interest rate so you don't have to face extra problems when BTC will not so what it has to do (increase it's price)

Your parents will be back to ask you in a few years about these investments they have made for you. If it is good and has become profitable by then, they will be really proud of you and also may develop an interest in knowing what bitcoin is seeing how profitable it is for their son, they will also be willing to support you more if you require it, but if you fail, and then squander this investment, becoming unable to show results of profit when demanded for in a few years' time by your parents, they will be really disappointed, and see bitcoins as a wrong investment. For the sake of this, I please beg you that you do not fail your parents.

A friend will do it for you?

Check your friend because not all friends are to be trusted when it's about handling money and doing transactions. I'm saying that you should always verify if someone's intention is to help you.

And apart from that, you should know what you're doing and how to do it on your own because you should be the one responsible in doing your own investments like buying Bitcoin. It may not be simple for beginners but that's how you should do it because it's not other people's money but your parents.

I'm happy that the op is making first steps with Bitcoin and that the family is being supportive. It's true that the price can rise, and then $90 will buy much less BTC than right now. Once you buy BTC, make sure you withdraw it from an exchange (if you buy on a crypto exchange) and store it in a non-custodial wallet like Electrum, where nobody else has access to your money. But keep your passphrase and password (if you set up a password) safe because if you lose that, nobody will be able to help you. People say that $90 isn't a lot, but I'd say it's a good start. Maybe, at some point, you can invest more. And if your plan is long-term holding, it can still pay off significantly (although, of course, nobody knows for sure how high Bitcoin will rise).

Thank you mom, Thank you dad. And thank you Bitcointalk.

It's nice to see that there's still a supportive parents when it comes to money or any financial planning because there are some parents who let you do all by yourself and they don't help you because they want you to learn the hard way without asking any help from them. It's good to know that you have your bitcoin investment, congrats on that! May i know if you want to invest in bitcoin because most people are talking about it? how about the knowledge you have about crypto investment? At least you know the basics, you can learn it through your friend as you've mentioned that youe friend are the one who will help you to buy bitcoin. That's a good start, Congrats again!

First and foremost, you should have censored your transaction ID to have some privacy. But I guess it’s too late now as there are more readers already seen your screenshot and may have silently saved it.

But yeah how I wish our families are supportive when we are about to start our Bitcoin journey. Not me however.

I was broke for years before I got into Bitcoin. My parents were not supportive of my journey and my career direction as I wanted to be a freelancer and network marketer than working in a 9-5 job in either private or government. They’ve never stopped criticizing me for years due that I am struggling in my finances and never had a stable client.

Until I got silently into Bitcoin and cryptocurrency where I self-learn about trading and other earning opportunities and it’s where my life turned around. I’ve never asked them for money when I started with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, but at least of what’s left of my little extra money would do as well as utilizing my skills for opportunities like airdrops and bounties.

Fast forward to today, they have no problem with me now and just simply doing my own thing because of the unlimited opportunities in this space.

Family support takes nothing more you are very lucky to have your family supporting and encouraging you. Everyone's family does not support this kind of work and creates obstacles in every work of life. Children think everything is against them. Your parents want to see you grow up so that you can be more successful by buying bitcoins so that your parents are very proud of you.

These threads like this that come from newbies sharing their experiences when they bought their first Bitcoin are becoming more and more popular nowadays.
I mean I've seen some of these types of threads getting some merits from some high-ranked users. Is this the new trend already? :D

Don't take what I said seriously OP. I'm just happy that some people are willing to help you buy Bitcoin. There are some people out there who want to invest in Bitcoin, and they have all the knowledge that they need, but the only thing that hinders them is the lack of capital to use to buy some Bitcoins for the long term. You're lucky that there are people around you who support you because there are some out there who don't even support their family members in what they do and that includes investing in Bitcoin for some reasons.

It's good that you have a friend that's willing to help you buy Bitcoin. I just hope that you take care of those Bitcoins, and don't just buy now, but continue to accumulate. :)

Congratulations on having a supportive family. Not everyone has this type of support.

Some things you must do -
# Move your bitcoins to a software wallet.
# secure your private keys in a safe location.
# do not go about telling everyone that you are a bitcoin owner.
# look for smart ways to earn more bitcoin. This is now your responsibility because your parents won't do it for you a second time.
# as mk4 has said, think long term. In decades.

Congrats! Wondering if you've already bought it OP and what plans you have to safe keep it. You should probably set a place to store your funds, preferably something you know is safe (and not in exchanges) especially since I think you're considering holding it for at least half a year possibly waiting for some effects from the halving. Maybe even try to DCA if possible since half a year is a pretty sizeable time to increase the amount you invested, not to mention more than half a year is a possibility anyway.

You're lucky enough to be surrounded by a loving family, this is one of the best they could give because this is something that could have a valuable worth in the near future to come which you will ever be grateful for having it as a gift from them, you now have to take your time in learning about bitcoin and also on how to do things by yourself, when you acquire it, make sure you move your coins to a cold storage and don't expose anything about it to even your friend.

If you are already an adult i.e. your parents are 40+ years old and interested in Bitcoin and support you to invest in Bitcoin it is highly appreciated as people of this age are hardly Bitcoin friendly. You are lucky to have such a family.  Bitcoin is a very potential future currency so I would suggest you to hold it for long term rather than panic and sell it as it will give you good returns. And meanwhile hold on to a strong decentralized wallet

Actually I quite like your interest in being in bitcoin but when you still see doubts just because of the current price I think you will not really be comfortable with such thinking. So in this case my advice is to try deeper to learn bitcoin as a whole besides that you also have to realize that being in bitcoin is for the long term so that the current price is actually only temporary if indeed your goal is long-term.
Although indeed this is quite realized because I have also been in that position when I was a beginner but over time I think the level of concern will continue to decrease and I feel that and feel that the current price is not a benchmark so there is no need to worry about it. Although there is indeed an anxiety when the crash arrives and it is normal but when looking further about our intentions in the longer term it is precisely such worries that are disturbing so it would be better if it is not too concerned about the current price if we are serious about being in bitcoin for a longer distance.

Halving is the greatest part about this situation and that's definitely something to care about .Why? Because we all know that bitcoin will go up based on the halving and because of that the price will be higher and we should focus on that as much as we possibly could.

I get that it may not feel like that's a big deal at times but it is definitely not even remotely close to anything else and we need to realize that. Sure we had a good increase so far but this is nothing compared to the biggest rise we will get after the halving, and we need to keep on improving that as much as we possibly could. That's going to make it a lot better, it is going to give us a return that we have not seen anywhere else before and should be an important aspect of this.

Congratulation OP, Thanks for the supportive relationship you have; they did a great job encouraging you on your journey to invest in bitcoin. There is an adage that says, "To whom much is given, much is expected." That is, you owe your trust in the investment by staying focused and investing more in the portfolio. Because 90 dollars of bitcoin will only generate little profit in a long-term investment, investing more will help you add to the portfolio over time using DCA (dollar cost averaging). Once again, thanks to your parents and relatives who support you on this journey.

To have a BTC with us is also important, because how can we maximize its potential by giving us a profit if we don't have any? Scams are everywhere, but their numbers were maybe more here, because there is a huge money involved here, and then cryptos are also kinda hard to understand so it may be easy for the scammers to find a victim here.

Hardware wallets has a superb security but as a beginner like the OP, that only has a less amount of BTC, I think it's fine if they can start with the basics first. Electrum may be a user friendly BTC wallet. Apart from what we said here, the next would be, is to have a knowledge on how this market works.

You don't need to be that much worried about this matter. I know that it's tempting to see Bitcoin gaining value day by day while you can see it but can't be a part of it, however, you don't need to stress yourself out or your parents and family. It's good that they have arranged some money for you to invest but you need to make sure that you understand the risks and everything and also explain them to your parents so that they don't feel too bad in case the price drops after you invest since they must have high expectations.

Anyway, now that you have prepared to money to invest, I would suggest you check everything before you do that. The market has been going up constantly for some days, and a correction is expected at any time. If you invest now and the market dips later on, you will surely feel bad for buying high.

You are welcome to the Bitcoin industry. But you must not rely goal of trading on the Bitcoin with its positive speculations ongoing else it may be tough for you to stand against its period of depressions after much accumulations.
However, patient is virtue and stick by it if you must make or extensively in the Bitcoins market.

Are you under 18 years old? Can't you just earn some money and buy Bitcoin yourself? I would be embarrassed to ask my friends and family for money. Especially for money to buy Bitcoins(or any other cryptocurrency).
I can also assume that the 2024 Bitcoin halving will build some hype and pump the Bitcoin price, but you shouldn't have enormous expectations.
Do you expect the BTC price to hit 1 million USD or something? I think that the BTC price could hit somewhere between 70K and 100K USD at best. This means that your 90 USD could turn into 200 USD at maximum. Not a big deal, if you ask me.
Buying BTC isn't the same as buying a lottery ticket and expecting to win the jackpot.

You are a lucky if you are helped by a parent. It seems that I rarely see in our community here that a parent supports a child to invest in Bitcoin. So that's why I congratulate you.

I'm just wondering why you need to ask your friend for help just to buy Bitcoin. Why do you want it to happen the next time you buy Bitcoin? Is it because your friend will make a way for you to buy Bitcoin, or do you want them to buy Bitcoin for you? Please clarify this.

OP you're indeed lucky to have parents who supports your dream, some parents won't give it a try as long as they're not familiar with what you're talking about and in some cases they can see you as one of those scammers out there.
At least now you don't have to be highly depressed in any way and I hope the friend you talked about in helping you get the BTC won't by any chance make you lose (get you scammed) this opportunity that's given to you by your parents.
Now that we're expecting the halving I believe you're going to gain more than what you used as a start up, well let's see how positive the market price is before the end of this year.

The most important thing is that you have your closest family members by your side in Bitcoin investing. However, you can definitely consider using a hardware wallet for long-term storage to ensure investment security. Prioritize a steady income and savings to support yourself and your investments in the future. Hope to hold the investment for the long term and keep your Bitcoin safe by taking the necessary security measures. Enjoy the journey of becoming a Bitcoin holder and may it bring you success and prosperity in the future!  Good luck!

I will strike a discordant note here. 4 pages of congratulations because his mother gives him $90 in local currency? If you are young what you have to do is to train yourself to be able to get good incomes in the future and with the cash flow that you get to consider an investment plan among which is to buy Bitcoin. But if you are going to buy Bitcoin I hope it is for something more than just waiting for the price to go up.

You should be grateful because you have good parents who support you about investing in BTC, and actually there are many parents who forbid their children from buying Bitcoin for many reasons and you are one of the lucky ones. Actually, you don't need to be nervous if you see the price of BTC continuing to rise, because if you buy before the halving, of course there is still a chance to make a profit. but op, continue to explore insights about bitcoin and of course investing in btc must use money that is ready to be lost, but you also have to have a strong intention, namely only selling btc when there is a profit and don't panic, stay focused on your intention. op, I hope you are lucky in your investment in BTC and prove to your family and your parents that investing in BTC is certainly a good thing and very fun.

Having a family that can support everything that can really make us develop in a better direction will certainly make us enthusiastic in realizing what we have dreamed of, it is not an easy thing to be able to convince our family about investing in Bitcoin because it is very difficult to believe. they are about long-term investment and if we can believe them of course this will be very good for the investment we make and also our family.

If we don't have a steady income, it's not easy to be able to invest in Bitcoin, but if we keep trying to be able to work and have an income that we can invest, because it's very important for everyone to be able to invest because we don't know what will happen in the future so it is important that we can prepare ourselves so that we can fulfill what we need.

You should be very thankful to your parents because they truly love you.  It's only someone that loves you can give you money t on invest in bitcoin.  That is to say that they truly love you.  But my advice for you is to look for something doing, so that your attention should not be going towards the direction of the bitcoin. If not you might end up selling it if you need urgent money. Bitcoin is not something that you will invest and stay without having something doing, otherwise you will end up selling  off your bitcoin.

Wow, that's great of your parents. At least one of them is always supportive of your movement. If it were just other parents, I doubt they would even consider listening to you when you ask for money to invest in bitcoin. I assume your parents are aware of bitcoin as well. Since bitcoin is not the type of investment where you will see a profit or gain over time, some parents may give you money and then expect you to use it to improve your life after a few days.

Additionally, you shouldn't let other people's comments about bitcoin make you feel depressed because, based on how you sound, you should learn more about it before rushing into it. Also, if your friend bought bitcoin for you, did you really trust them? that since you might wake up one day and discover that you were duped, your friend shouldn't have access to your wallet.

Yes, OP is very lucky because most people buy Bitcoin with their own hard work, and OP has a family who supports him and even gives him extra money to be able to buy Bitcoin.
But my question is how do they do this because they also need a basic understanding and knowledge of Bitcoin that makes them want to do it. If they already know the risks and know and understand Bitcoin, that's great. Because they won't help you buy just once, and it's best for you and your family to do it periodically according to your and their abilities and that's much better. And you and your family will enjoy huge profits in the future, so you have to do it in the long term and also have to do it patiently to reach the highest price of Bitcoin to get satisfying profits.

So you haven't bought it yet?, and with a small amount of money the longer you wait to buy it is very likely that you will buy it at a higher price than today, and it's strange enough that you are very excited to have Bitcoin but need the help of your friends to buy it because you should you can do it yourself.
Hopefully, you don't think that with $90 you can get thousands of dollars in profit next year because thinking next year is a prediction of Bitcoin reaching the latest ATH, because investing in Bitcoin is not a way to get rich quickly but everything requires a process, the profit you get will depend on the money to invest to buy and also how patiently you save the Bitcoin.

Thats great that you become successful in buying Bitcoin but your dream will come true if you become successful in making profit with the help of it. The Big support which your family provided for you is appreciable I think that you have bought Bitcoin at an accurate timing which will provide you more success in coming halving.

I want to say that you should not buy bitcoin before three or four months of halving but we have to buy Bitcoin years ago so when these four years of duration will passed then the price of upcoming halving will be more than the previous halving so our profit will also be maximum.

People are accumulating Bitcoin in such a way that they are in thoughts that this halving is the last halving but actually halving occur after every four years so if you want to take benefit from Bitcoin then start accumulating before halving and sell during halving an after the passing of halving you can also buy some more in reduce price.

---

This is the amount in my local currency i believe it will get me up to 90 dollars of bitcoin. I am waiting for my friend who will help me buy it by the weekend.

Thank you mom, Thank you dad. And thank you Bitcointalk.
Just continue on what you are planning mate because we are really just that still approaching that halving event and if you are really that aiming for long term then its a good decision that you would really be trying out to accumulate as early as you could but of course you should not expect that much and i do anticipate that you havent still be able to experience those crashes and dips on which it would really be just that a normal experience that you would met up along the way. Make yourself that sturdy and emotionally stable because usually on noobs on which on the time that they would seeing their portfolio in reds then they would really be that tending to cut losses and this is something that must be avoided.

In overall, you shouldnt really that make yourself that easily panic on the  time that you do see reds on which it is really just that normal. If you are aiming for long term then accumulate as much as you could
but consider out on having that DCA if ever the price drops so that you would really be having that possible maximum profitability but if this is something that a bit technical
for you then just simply buy and hold for long term.

Bitcoin shouldn't be an object that will put you in depression just because the next half is around the corner,  just know that Bitcoin is still at its early stage and just getting to widespread adoption with still low percentage of the general public being aware of Bitcoin, so for sure,  there will be multiple chances to always get into Bitcoin at every discounted opportunities along the way,  many time we failed to note that and tend to push ourselves so much to acquire the largest sum or even declaring that we already lost out on the discounted bitcoin price and that why some people make statements such as bitcoin is already expensive.

We are at the end of 2023 but what awaits us in 2024 none of us can say for sure. In other years the market is slightly dumping from the beginning to the mid-term. Perhaps, considering the past, you have an idea that the market will dump again in the mid-2024 period. It is only probability and there is no guarantee so the market can go in any direction. The market can go in any direction at any time, as you fear the market will go down in the middle of 2024, I think it will not take much time for the market to go down, the market can go down in less time. But don't be harassed by such rumours, have faith in your investment, surely something good is waiting ahead.

We also need to take into account that even if institutional investors have accumulated a lot of coins already, it seems to me this is a move that only a minority of them did, so if this changes and more of those investors come to this market then the price could reach levels we may have not thought possible to appear so soon.

So it is a mistake to think that an opportunity has been missed, when in fact there is still a lot of room for bitcoin to grow in terms of adoption and when it comes to is price as well.

You do have not to worry about whether Bitcoin will be available next year. Bitcoin will be available for you at every stage and will never stop as per my thoughts because of the high potential of bitcoin it is hard to say that Bitcoin will fail or stop in the next year yeah it is true that the price is now low, not that mean because Bitcoin records many positivity in this year, in sense it's price at coming bull run the price is low but when the halving come and after some time the bull run will start and according to the analyst Bitcoin will cross it's previous ATH. Now this is what to worry about if someone buys about $100 BTC now has more quantity as compared to when he buys the same worth of Bitcoin in the bull run. One thing is to remember that professionals and those who have some knowledge of Bitcoin never buy Bitcoin in the bull run they buy before the halving event when the price is low and when the bull run comes its price increases many times.

First of all, I want to thank your parents for helping you invest in Bitcoin because a little help they give you today can actually help you build a huge fortune in the future. As someone who has been trading and investing in Bitcoin for years, I would recommend that you don't stick to the amount and that you own more Bitcoin by adding to your investment whenever you get the opportunity. Remember, in the short term Bitcoin may lose value and the amount of money you deposit may decrease but in the long term Bitcoin has always enabled its investors to make profits.

I wish your happiness to be permanent and your investments to always please you. I hope you can accumulate Bitcoin for many years and increase your Bitcoin balance day by day.

Your decision to invest is absolutely right. You will gain more earning opportunities once you enter the market before bull run happens. Thanks to your strong support system, without them you will never make it in time. However, my only advice for you is to never see your bitcoin investment as a get rich quick. Invest for long term, that will help you understand and appreciate the real concept of bitcoin.

For now, focus on DCAing bitcoin. You still have more months to go before bull run appears, so make the best of it and just invest on the amount you can afford to lose.

The family should help the younger generation to get into bitcoin at the earliest stage,it was good initiative move by the OP family members. Many of us here by the referral of our friends, this was the peculiar story of the op which was linked with the family bonding.Only the parents had this good intentions for their kids, even the siblings will not help like this.Only in few families the siblings will help their brother to join the crypto community. Many will think selfish and never share to their own family members. The OP should increase their bitcoin limit by more bitcoin every month,as like the gold savings the OP should increase the bitcoin savings. In a future the OP will have huge amount of bitcoin in their wallet, who know it may also made them millionaire one day.

I remember the feeling of joy I had when I purchased my first bitcoins.
You’re lucky to have such supportive parents. I don’t know if you’re going to read the replies on this thread to them if not the compliments isn’t necessary.

This is the amount in my local currency i believe it will get me up to 90 dollars of bitcoin. I am waiting for my friend who will help me buy it by the weekend.

I think it’s better you learn how to purchase bitcoins on p2p platforms on your own. You can’t be on this forum and still depend on others for something like this. You can buy bitcoins on Binance (kyc needed), Remitano (kyc won’t be required for small amounts), Bisq (decentralized exchange).

Congrats OP on your first purchase. With your eagerness to invest, you have now your first bitcoin in your wallet. Just do the DCA afterwards, so you can increase more of your bitcoin hodling. While you are in the process of accumulating more bitcoin, see to it that you are learning continuously in the forum and learn from the experiences of the first investors as well. Bitcoin is a highly profitable investment, but if you don't have the proper knowledge to manage your investment, it will also never prosper and won't see any positive development.

Consistent learning in the forum is a must. Most especially that you are investing in a high risk asset, the more that you have to be knowledgeable on how to succeed on your investment.

Of course, we can still experience ups and downs on prices and it is normal but we believe that 2024 is a good year for the crypto market.
We never know what exactly happen next year but this is not the ground enough to consider that we have to worry about our investment and become uncertain, we never grow with that kind of thinking instead, we have to build trust and confidence.

What happened to OP is a great decision from the family, there is trust and it never be wasted.
Well, I hope that OP can manage it carefully and be able to reach their goal.

Yeah, I think the ops is very privileged to have a parent who can still give him money to buy some Bitcoin and this shows to a great extent the level of bond and love that exists in their family but then far from such that ops should rush to sell off such a gift,  because the only time,  the true potential of Bitcoin will reflect is when you hold it for long term base and this situation ops should give himself a long term perspective since he was gifted the funds to buy the Bitcoin.

Honestly, a few people have such privilege in the society we live,  to see such support from the family in something that not many understand it the way you does and how best you have to handle yourself to be able to buy at the right time and also hold for a certain period which only you understand most,  bitcoin is the most valuable asset of this century and at such, we may see a lot of such story on how we individually own our first Bitcoin and for sure I still remember how I felt when I first own my first Satoshi.

snipped

So.. what's next?  Do you keep pestering your parents to give you more funds for your Bitcoin investment?  Your goal of buying BTC is good but I find it disappointing if a person pushes other people to invest for them.  It would be fine if your family is rich and has lots of extra money to put up with your selfish goal  but if they are just meeting the family needs, it would be a hard task for your parents since they have to tweak your family budget in order to meet your want to invest in BTC.

Anyway, be glad that you have a supportive family.  I hope you develop a diamond hand and will not panic to sell your holdings once the price of Bitcoin crashes.  Kudos to your supportive family.
