Greetings my country people, I know many people are in their various places already to celebrate the Christmas and new year. I created this topic to please Naija bitcoiners to always delete their alert text message from their phone which are some of the things that is making some of their friends or relative to organize Kidnappers to empty their money they have struggle from January till december to saved. Something terrible just happened to someone in my community that came with his new car and his family to celebrate the Christmas in the village but on his way to pick some of his friends that he has been with since on Thursday and, he was Kidnapp despite he didn't go out with his camera phone but the Kidnappers was demanding for #500,000 from the victim family before they later changed their mind based on the transaction text message they saw on the victim small phone and they changed the ransom from #500,000 to #10,000,000. And the Kidnappers empty the guy account before releasing him to his family and I hard that the guy has vow never to come home for any reason again.

I'm in the village to celebrate the Christmas and new year with my people, but if you see me, you will not no that I came from city to join my village people to celebrate the Christmas and new year but I have deleted all the alert text message in my phone and my camera phone so that nobody will know anything about me. Let us be our brothers keeper by always alert us in this Naija local board and to be in security caution through out this season of celebration.

Well this is an unfortunate incident and I hope we all don't experience this. Well many people has their different reasons for keeping a transaction text message, like personally I don't use the banking mobile application, so I keep text for fast proof that I have made a payment to someone or I have received a payment from someone, although in this case I don't think anyone knew the truth about how the kidnappers got to know their victim had such amount to empty in the first place and if anyone has a vivid statement that it was because of the text message then that person should be the first suspect.
The kidnappers can easily ask him to check his bank balance using the ussd Code since it's a small phone and through that means they can still know how much their victim is worth.

As bad people are very hard to detect, so even if we try to keep safety, there will always be a way they will penetrate, as they are so smart to know if someone is with money or not, it is not everyone that doesn't look good that don't have money, I say this because of what you said already.
Having money is not about how you dress or how you buy expensive things, I believe you already know that this days many guys are just looking good even when they don't have money.

This is a terrible I must say, the wickedness of man is just not comprehendible how can some save throughout the year and goes home to celebrate  with his people, and what he gets is robbery? Common man this is pure wickedness, and I believe his whereabouts were licked to the kidnapper by someone who knows him, it's possible it's a family member, anyway if the robbers were foolish enough to do bank to bank transfer, I think they could still be caught and compelled to say the truth on who gave them his information. I can't blame him for making such decision never to return home again. However if there is anyway those kidnappers can be caught,  they shouldn't be let to go unpunished.

With the way things are going in this country we need to be wise in order to out smart our enemies. And this alert of a thing, you can ask your bank to only send you alert on your email instead of text message. Such an unfortunate incidence, well it's really sad to hear this kind of nasty story but however, some persons just like to show off so that the people in the village will know that they are doing better than them in the village like what is the need for the competition? The insecurity in the country right now is even enough to ring a bell for everyone to be careful as you shouldn't live your life to impress anybody because you might be endangering your life and that of your family.

 Keeping histories of transactions that one made on your phone is very risky because apart from armed robbers getting access to your transaction detail our security agencies and the police are also fond of searching people's phones especially when you are a young guy dressed in expensive clothes or cars and when they find out some transactions you've made on your phone they tag you as a Yahoo boy and even apprehend you before you know it you must have spent reasonable amount of money before they will let you go.

Nice topic Op, this your post will be a message to those that like to show their self when they get back to the village, they will like to prove themselves that they are from the city, they get money some people don't know how to live a low life when they want to go back to village for Christmas celebration, if he have not go back to the village with his car all that wouldn't have happened to him but that was meant to happen and he cannot escape from it, e be like say the kidnappers may know about him before this may not be his first time for going back to the village with car, maybe the kidnappers target him on this year Christmas to kidnapped him if he returned.

That's the reason why some people no like to dey go back to the village be that, everybody get their reason for not going back to the village if they have anything to celebrate they will rather do it in the city, now he has regretted going back to the city to celebrate christmas, the kidnappers have run him down, they have return him back to zero, imagine where he can start his life from.

OP, I wish everyone will see this information you brought to public notice as good one and use it as working document, I don't know why someone will keep alert on their phone, I know it might be as a result of absent mind but this can put people into problem as you just narrated, Chris brings so many people together both the people thinking against there friends even brothers, there are good people to meet wherever each and everyone of us decide to celebrate our Christmas but all I know is that we have to be very careful in all we do this period, I thinks there are option too, we must go home, we can decide to send stuffs to our people if we have the funds to do so, I think this can save of us the danger and stress that might occur.

As em don turn out to be sae, we can't hide bank account details from kidnappers or people wey we know even though we delete them. Em go make perfect sense make we divert another way to beat all that by having a new sim card wey go link our bank account with but that new sim go d our house, we no go d walker with am. If the idea no good for your side, you do am in a way na only email you go d receive not text message for alerts cos deleting text messages of alert no d solve am as you think am to be.

Op, thank you for this informative post, I'll also mention that those kidnappers were tipped off by a family member or one of the guy's friends for the initial kidnap,  kidnappers checks everything about you while in their den, from your communication, to the messages, to your bank account contents. So I believe they checked the guy's account balance by themselves and increased the Ransome. If proper investigations are  carried out on this issue, you'll be surprised on who the mastermind of this  kidnap is. We should also stay low-key this celebration period as the nation is facing serious insecurity challenges, so we'll not be scape goats to these bad eggs.

Wetin happened to dat man dat fall victim to Kidnappers in my community, assume he delete all those alert message from his phone, dat money wey d kidnappers charge am from #500,000 to #1,000,000 for no reach dat amount, dat is why is very good for us to stay away from some things dat will make kidnappers no say we get money in our account. What a very touching story. One thing i amm very cautious of is me going out with freinds whenever i come back home. I understand the fact that when we were growing up things were cool as freinds and we know each other inside and out. But after a long time we are grown up so many person have taking different paths in life. Some are good while some are bad.

That is why it is good not to save bank transactions on your phone or dress like you have so much money when you are traveling because if kidnappers stop the car you are traveling with, they will check the phones of the passengers in that car to know the passengers that have big money transactions on their phone, to know the passenger that can pay for a ransom or have people who can pay for a ransom. And if you dress like a rich kid, kidnappers will see you as a target because they believe you have people who can pay for your ransom.
