Title: How was your crypto journey this year?
Post by: Iamcrypticguy on December 25, 2023, 11:12:56 AM
2023 wasn't all bad for the crypto market. The crypto world underwent numerous changes; new technologies emerged, the market experienced declines and sudden eruptions, and governments implemented various rules.

It was a year filled with excitement, akin to a Bollywood movie. Some crypto exchanges went bankrupt, leading to numerous legal battles. Personally, I faced multiple liquidations while trading futures—aha!

On the positive side, I experienced growth. I learned about ICT and SMC concepts, took courses on risk management and trading psychology, and added some altcoins to my portfolio.

A few days ago, when I opened my Bitget app, I discovered they were kind enough to share my annual reports. These reports highlighted key information and figures, allowing me the luxury of reflecting on my performance. It wasn't so bad, if you ask me. So, how has your crypto year been? I would appreciate it if you could share some key highlights of your crypto experience this year..

Yes I agree with you, the 2023 crypto market has seen some alt coins pump in recent months including Bitcoin and Ethereum. Bitcoin prices in particular have increased significantly. I have not traded any currency this year but I have invested some amount in Bitcoin. This crypto year has been very good for me as I am very happy now that the amount of money I invested in Bitcoin has now more than doubled. But I want to hold my bitcoins for a longer period of time as events like bitcoin halving await.

Every cryptocurrency investors this year will either fall under the category of those that make profit or loss, this will solely depe on what we are also Investing, f we have our investment in bitcoin, we are safe and there's nothing to fear about concerning our investment made, but when we have our investment on altcoins only, then we are likely to be among those who have been a victim of any kind of failure experienced in cryptocurrency at the cause of the year.

I have not been very active in trading this year because I am lazy about market fluctuations, I prefer to collect potential tokens since January or early this year, and on average all the tokens I bought have risen up to 80% and some exceeded 200% in my portfolio.

It was interesting but tedious with the bearish season and the price drop until I was almost mentally destroyed in the middle of the year in holding the coins I bought, I felt lucky because none of the coins I bought later the developer went bankrupt, instead they made good developments in the bearish year, such as Link and Solana.

For me, all good. I learned a lot of things this year, especially in the DeFi world. Next is in new projects such as new networks like layer-2 networks.
Next is I was able also to make some few bucks in some investment, where I find gem and I also learn a lesson of being not greedy and having plan always.

Good to hear that new innovations are coming out from CEX. Having access to ones annual trade history and other vital information are essential to evaluate ones performance and know where to improve upon. Great stuff.

My crypto journey was manageable but I learned a lot of things not to invest all my money on altcoins because, I thought it will be easy for me to make a huge amount of money that will reach me to celebrate the new year but what I achieved from the altcoins I sold few days ago is not bad but that is not what I was expecting. I will add BTC to my portfolio next year so that I will base altcoins for short term hodling in case I have some emergency things to solve at the moment it will be easy for me to visit the market to sell altcoins to make profits and continue hodling the BTC till massive bull run occur.

I guess you have a good journey in your crypto investment, but you can do better than this next year, if you can apply long hodling to your portfolios so that you will earn more profits when massive pumping occur in the market because next year will be better than what we saw this year.

Up and down as usual but fortunately, a wide-scale pump happened before this year end which made me profit unlike in the middle of this year wherein volatility negatively affected my assets. Luckily I never pulled my holdings in spot trading and now in good profit rate. But this won't give me an excuse to be careless given that year is about to end and next month could be another market behavior as we all know. Advising other investors as well to do so in order to avoid regrets and sudden loss. We just never know whether the current market behavior will be continuing to new ATH next year. Let us just be patient for now.

Well if that's the case, then that's not only this year but the normal scenario. When it comes on profitability of an investor, it does not depend only on the market behavior but also with the decision makin of the investor himself on when to exit or make an entry. Holding on the other hand for long term will indeed yield to profit but expect things to not be in an instant. If expectations won't be met by market price changes, then that is where mistakes are being done often by investors especially new ones and those which are not lending time to study price actions and other patterns.

This year wasn't so bad. In fact, some of my portfolios have shown good development. But the problem is that there are several of my portfolios in 2022 that are still losing money. I'm actually confused about whether I should cut loss and put the money somewhere else like some new tokens. Are there any users here who can give me some good advice? I thought not to cut loss because it would be quite detrimental to me because I had already lost half my value there.

My crypto journey was not not so excited in the initial phase of 2023 due to overall lackluster performance of market, marked by the collapse of many exchanges. However, from the beginning of second half things started getting better and a positive shift occurred. As we approached towards the end of the year, Bitcoin broke strong psychological barrier of $40,000 and led the rally of the market. My long term holdings in Bitcoin, Ethereum and particularly Solana has shown unimaginable gains.

Coincidentally I also use Bitget and 2 days ago, I checked my highlights of the year. I only feel bad for having nothing substantial to show for Copy Trading all through the year. I was occupied with doubt for the strategy until late October before results convinced me to give it a try. Kudos to Bitget for that wrap-up feature and for showing one aspect I'll have to build up on in 2024.

crypto traders have been making money since the start of the year for prices were gradually going up in the first quarter of this year. 2023 is a good year for crypto though the economy of many countries arent good.

i only see 2 people posted SOL as their highlights in the crypto journey this year. i should be the 3rd. though i eventually bought just just last week at $92, it is still a good profit for me.  after a short time of waiting, the pump started again.

For me is quite simple Im not sure if it was fruitful but indeed some pretty good earnings and learnings too but its not as good as last 2yrs ago. Id hope I could make the same profit gained I make that year in the following next year. But this time I'll be more careful and wise on risking funds. Its not that easy to have a high yield on crypto it needs patience and sometime luck too.

2023 has been a wonderful year when it comes to crypto as it allowed me to accumulate enough Bitcoins, highest since 2016 and I didn't incur huge loses though I lost some over futures trading but again breakeven was reached. The best practices I have started this year were DCA & also picking up very few altcoins post through research instead of going randomly.

I think this year had been wonderful for most of us.

For me, as usual, I mostly earn cryptocurrency through my marketing services. Whenever I notice a pump, I sell my holdings and use them in real life. Of course, I hold a portion of my earnings that has become a handsome amount due to the bull market. Very rarely am I lucky to buy back in cheap whenever I sell my holdings. Because most of the time the price doesn't drop below my sell price, I can't dare to buyback. However, the overall condition is not so bad or so good. I hope next year will be good for me since there is some upcoming work in crypto.

Comparing yourself 2 years ago in the space and now, ofcourse there's hugh difference. I've promised myself to become very promising and confident in dealing with these crypto projects, never will I back out from my daily routine of examine the market and ensure we grab responsibility of helping to our losses and winnings. We become patient when we know our goals will be reached despite the ongoing poor condition of the market. Cryptocurrency this year have been really rough for most of us but some of us have survived the long bear season and have also ensure to make good amends for our mistakes.

It was fine, good and brought me happiness. It may not be the peak of my journey and I am looking forward to the next bull run but this was better compared to 2018 but not better compared to 2021.

I think this year had been wonderful for most of us.
Yeah, I can't complain with what happened this year and it has provided most of us great journey as well and also the lessons we've learned for each and everyone of us.

I sticked with my long term investments and did not really bought a notable amount of new coins (only a few alts to speculate with).
The hodling paid off and the performance was more than I hoped for. Next year will be exciting when the halving takes place. Before the event, I will position myself with a few strategic investments, as in the past this has always been a good opportunity to make nice profits.

I am also following this all as I love to stick for the long-term investment because mostly in short term or jumping into pumps and dumb we have serious problems but after few early loses, I have good lesson and now not doing any experiment just holding stuff for the long term which is giving good reward with good stability for my future as well.

80% of my investment is already settled for long term and other mostly I try few things which sometime works and some not, but these things never create any harm for me or my portfolio which is good lesson for me after having few big loses in early years of my investment in crypto.

I think most people who are a bit longer in crypto made this experience. At the beginning everyone tries to chase the next big coin and invests in a various of amount of different coins which are praised from random people. But if you've been around for a longer time in crypo space, you'll eventually realize that the really successful way is to simply hold on to the good quality coins.

Just like you, it was very fantastic and also a good experience for me because it helped me honestly speak, especially those who gave me tips in this forum that also gave me additional knowledge about cryptocurrency.

I am also continuing to learn a lot of things here in the crypto business. That's why I am very grateful, especially to the members who have been here for a long time on this forum platform. I hope that the majority who rank higher here will share ideas and knowledge with those who do not yet have sufficient knowledge of cryptocurrency.

the beginning of 2023 the price of crypto currency was very bad in addition to the luna terra luna incident further worsened crypto prices. but at the end of 2023 the price of crypto currencies has improved starting with a fairly high increase in the price of bitcoin from its lowest price.
but the price of luna and UST is still far from recovering the price of luna is still destroyed.
in contrast to solana, which actually experienced events almost similar to luna, but now the price of solana has started to normalize again. even though the solana incident occurred after luna

The year 2023 is of course much better than the the previous year. This year would definitely end with a higher value for my crypto portfolio. The year 2023 opened with the price of Bitcoin just around $16,000. Today, the price is $43,000. That alone is enough for me to automatically generalize that this year is a good year, better than 2022. 2022 is actually the opposite because it started with Bitcoin's price at around $47,000 but ended up at around $16,000.

Looking forward to the year 2024. I'm very hopeful that next year would even be better. $100,000 for Bitcoin is a realistic target.

For me, 2023 is a special year, especially mid-year towards the end of this time, I am not focused on the bankrupt cex or other regulations that make the value weaken on crypto currencies, many new cexes are an option because cex is just traffic for me. I mean when the price of an altcoin is medium or even lower, it doesn't matter if the project I follow shares the airdrop, yes indeed, because hunters only sell or hold. :D . I feel that in recent months there has been a distribution that helps my family's economy, and what makes me most happy, I can work again on the bitcointalk forum with the signature that I installed after all this time I focused on real world work, hopefully the project is durable and successful so that the campaign continues to run well, can work from home with plenty of time for family, worship and vacation together.

2023 also proves the rise of crypto curency from a few years ago, it should have profited how many tens of percent or even hundreds or thousands of percent of a coin, after bearish market a few years, hold-er its winner.

There have been slight changes regarding the crypto trading that I have done this year, although it has not provided much profit, it has been able to revive my enthusiasm to continue to increase the investment assets that I will make.  Market price fluctuations continue to occur even though similar things have also been experienced in previous years.  However, in the future I believe crypto will become more valuable and will attract more and more attention from the public

Well, compare it to what happened last year, this year was a better one.
Those who risked their money buying different cryptocurrencies last year are the ones who are in profit right now. Those who invested in Bitcoin when it was below $20,000 already doubled their money. New technologies emerged as you said, numerous airdrops that gave free money to those who participated (ARB is the most popular one that I know). Overall, it was a good year at least. It gave us another year to accumulate more assets, but at a higher price already.

Re: How was your crypto journey this year?
Hmmm. How can I explain it?

I guess I will just say, it's ok. I'm lucky that I didn't get affected by all those hacks that happened throughout the year. I'm lucky that I didn't lose too much money investing in different cryptocurrencies. Not that much happened to me TBH. I'm just accumulating, and accumulating, and accumulating, and until now, I'm still accumulating in preparation for the bull run.

Good since I made profit overall. Started to invest in Bitcoin at a lowest price this year and able to hold up to now. It's a decent amount already so I take profit to enjoy my earnings this holiday season.

On the other side, I managed to buy additional altcoins too but I prefer to keep holding until I saw a significant growth to the price. They're well-established coins so I don't worry for what lies ahead. Anyway, with the good news circulating in crypto, I think we can look forward for a bright future especially halving is just few months away.

I'm better placed this year than I was in any other ones before it because I've gained more experience and perspective from the past. I did what I never did in the past and that was taking out a substantial amount of my savings in fiat and dropped it into Bitcoin a few weeks ago. Already, I'm close to 50% in ROI. I ain't even touching it anytime in 2024, except Bitcoin attains my expectation of $120k – $150k range for its next ATH. Anything short of that will mean to me that Bitcoin didn't perform well. I realized from experience that's it's a waste of resources to let one's fiat lay idle in banks while one can put that into Bitcoin as we approach a rally.

My cryptocurrency journey has started since 2023. Maybe a lot of things happened in cryptocurrency before my journey started but I didn't admit it. Many people have built their careers on Cryptocurrencies and many people have ended their careers on Cryptocurrencies. But futures trading is most responsible for destroying careers. Currently I have involved myself in trading but I have never involved myself in futures trading. Started trading with spot trading but I have profited no loss till now. This is my 2023 cryptocurrency journey.

This year has not been so good for me. I missed quite a lot of things and didn't prepare because I was focused on other things in real world activities. However, I see that a lot of people have made money from crypto this year, and I'm quite happy with that. We don't know how profitable we can get next, so I think if I can't maximize my profits this year, I might try in 2024.

It has been a wonderful and challenging years altogether. I was brave enough to venture into the futures trading and I did good though it wasn't an easy ride, but I am happy that I did it after spending some time trading on spot. I bought some coins and added to my bag. Won some trades and lost some. Above all it has been an amazing years for me.

This year is just a good year for bitcoin and myself because all my investments is in bitcoin. It is not that I bought on a go, I have been on DCA throughout this year. I don't know the percentage profit I have, but I am sure I am in the profit learn. I am sure because I started DCA even when BTC was in the 16k region. Definitely I am bullish.

Looking forward to the year 2024. I'm very hopeful that next year would even be better. $100,000 for Bitcoin is a realistic target.
No target is realistic mate. During the last bull run, same 100k was said to be realistic also but it failed. Don't be surprised that it can also fail next year or even 2025. One reason I think might make it fail is the sell pressure that will be felt at 70k (immediately bitcoin makes a new ATH). That particular sell pressure might dash 100k hope.

Forgetting about the past and mistakes I've made, 2023 alone was a fruitful year for me. I made a good profit through both trading and investing.
I have a few regrets for selling some coins too early for profit, otherwise, every coin I have invested this year has yield me profit. The best investment was Solana.
On the field of trading, I have had a good number  of stop losses on some token but they are significantly less than what I made on profit.
And a few of my grid trading are going strong for months making as good as 100%+ APY for over 4 months.

not much to do, just focus on futures trading and it may be a profit and it may be a loss. I haven't seen much in this year I have made more or lost more. I decided to sell some of my altcoins and Bitcoin I held for quite a long time last year. and this year I traded more than holding assets for a long time.
but what happened to several large exchanges that ultimately went bankrupt, it teaches us all a lesson.

The prices of other cryptocurrency coins, including Bitcoin, have pumped up a lot this year, making it a bleak experience in crypto investing for long-term investors. And I don't know what happened to those who were only busy with trading.  The crypto market is not volatile and it not only pumps but also sometimes dumps the price of crypto so the experience of those who train is different from time to time.  So I think the journey has been pretty good for those who have invested since the beginning of the year and have held onto it so far because the price of cryptocurrencies has gone down a lot.  Something like this happened to me

It’s been good for me but only with unrealised profits. I haven’t sold anything this year as I think 2024 & 2025 will be even better. We are up a lot in 2023 but there is much more room for upwards price trajectory in this market.

I experience similar feelings, yes there are opportunities that we missed, but not everything is lost, this is normal, because the cryptocurrency market is very dynamic and cyclical. It is important to focus your attention on future projects and trends in the crypto industry. Real activity is also important, many people have to combine several types of activities to improve their financial condition.

I don't remember, years come and pass as a dream. It's been 6 years since I have been here, I can't believe.

One thing tho, I have learned to sell, previously I used to keep holding profitable trades/Hodl profits or airdrops received for long time, and this usually made them go bust however recently I have took profits.

Well, despite how bad the market started this year, still it ended up with a good and unexpected markup. My experience this year also tells something to me that there is always light after darkness. But if we are too impatient, we can't see it anymore.

There is no easy money in crypto, at is really a struggle for us but because we are impatient, we deserve to earn a profit as well. Those who sold during the market correction and dumped their coins, I feel now their regrets. I hope this year will give a lesson to the new investors that waiting is very important and this is the only way to survive.

Crypto journey for the year 2023 is quite bit nervous cause when the 2023 was arrive the price is too loos and get lower so we made a risk decision which is to hold it until now and then the profits will slowly come and arrive to us. Anyways it's still good to buy nowadays cause still the right time cause one thing for sure it will go up higher and higher. Just a prediction but it's nice to have a coin nowadays cause if this season will go up higher then we got more profits.

Still a roller coaster ride and fortunately, I'll be ending the year with some profit as the market recovers finally this last quarter.

There's a lot of mistakes and opportunities at the same time, as usual this will be another year for a good lessons in life.

I'm very optimistic to achieve financial freedom in the coming years because of bitcoin and cryptocurrency, I'm just doing things slowly but surely.

2023 is not good enough for me, just make small trades and start buying and holding Bitcoin consistently. But Bitcoin's decline since early 2023 gave me the opportunity to buy cheaply at $20,000 and now it has gone up. has some advantages that I continue to hold. 2024 will probably be a good year and will continue to grow and reach new ATH. I just need to prepare what strategy to use and carry out management so that everything can go according to plan.

I don't know exactly where you people extract your statistics of bitcoin investment, so I believe that bitcoin investment have to do with timing and everyone who invested in bitcoin this can never venture into loss because in January 2023 the price of bitcoin wasn't like this nature its now, and secondly bitcoin price was lower than the current price of bitcoin,so it's obvious that price of bitcoin this year continue to increase more and more, so their is nobody that will say that it loss in bitcoin investment this year except that the person is into short term investment and the person also panic to sell in order to not to lose it's capital. But people who is into long term investment and started their investment in January is in big profits right now.

With great joy I want to say, this year has been cheerful for me. But honestly I haven't focused on any token this year. Because I have not yet overcome the shock of last year. In 2023 I only trust Bitcoin and leave my fortune on Bitcoin. But fortunately, the price of Bitcoin has increased a lot at present. Now I am hopeful that last year's deficit i can be overcome somewhat by Bitcoin this year. It's really lucky for me. But I want to contribute to both trading and bitcoin at the beginning of next new year

There's a realistic target and then there's the kind of target that is based on wishful thinking. In the 2021 bull run, many thought Bitcoin would reach $100,000. That was somehow realistic because of the bullish sentiment of the market. It failed, but it doesn't mean it was an exaggerated prediction. That price target was definitely not comparable to the prediction of Balaji in March for example that Bitcoin would reach a million in 90 days or McAfee's in 2017 that Bitcoin would reach $500,000 in three years.

Going better mate , because I started a good way in gathering coins that i fully trust
in response to what i did in pandemic that I almost spent all my holdings so now I gain them back
and still putting some amount to continue growing till the Bullrun finally come.it may take a months ,
years but who cares? as I still believe that trust in market is my weapon to succeed in the  near
future, all my coins are intact and valuable as I dont risk my funds in shitcoin instead in strong
currencies that I know will bring me good returns or multiplier .

Crypto market was varied in the year of 2023 and we have examined every situation from sorrowful to happy end. But now the movement is still there which means that we should be ready for same situations in 2024. We all know that from the timing of origination of bitcoin we are continuously witnessing the Fluctuations so it does not means that if today market is red then we have to loss hope but it firming our hopes that after this red market the market will turn green.

In the year of 2023 the price of bitcoin goes higher and also many coins gained the interest of crypto users because so many lower priced coins surge to become more successful coins. People who are interested in just bitcoin and Ethereum are happy for their decision but still there are also other altcoins which will performed better in Bull season so hold if you want to get profit.

If 2023 went well for everyone then 2024 would become the best year for everyone here. I am eagerly waiting for a Bitcoin ETF to get approved and then for halving. Both factors would bring a lot of smiles to the faces of small investors like us, but the present market condition is not that bad. A lot of altcoins are still in green and performing way above the expectation of everyone. If anyone had invested in some of the top-performing altcoins earlier in the year they would have easily made 10x on their initial investment.

I cannot say more but at least recovering from the bad effect of COVID19 ?

so much expenses takes place in pandemic time that many of us have sold or at least taken more than half of their Holdings just to survive .

but nowadays as the economy is recovering , Jobs are normal again and life is going better , then our Journey may continue if not starting again.

Well, 2023 doesn't me much profit but at least, I was given the chance to survive and recover some of my losses last year after investing in a scam project (new project).

This year gave me some learning that choosing old projects is better than buying new projects that have no use case. I wasn't that fool but yeah, I'd fall into broken promises from an influencer. This year and in the past year tell me something about how important to spend more time searching for the right project to invest in, not just because someone told it. I was excited now for 2024 as I filled bags will valuable coins, not shitcoins.

Not that bad, I mean I made some profit and I have cashed it out, that's basically the short summary of it. My personal life has been a living hell, it's been a terrible year, but at the same time I have seen so many wars and death on the news every day, so I have to be glad about my life, I can't say that my life is as bad as those people who are in the war zone, there are two major conflicts in the world right now and I am sure plenty of other smaller conflicts that doesn't get enough tv news attention, my life is not that bad at all.

It was just worse than 2022, but still, my 2023 is better than billions of peoples 2023, so I have to be glad about the way my life is going and can't really pity it. Compared to that, my bitcoin investment life has been nothing but sweet candy.

The beginning of this year was not very good for me but it has to be said that i got a big profit from bitcoin. However the altcoins market is still promising but i don't see any change this year. Also the number of scam projects has increased but the number of good new projects is very low. But it is selective phase that investors are not willing to trust new projects now so new projects are not surviving in the market for long. Hmmm I am coming year 2024 will give some new direction in crypto market.

I would appreciate it if you could share some key highlights of your crypto experience this year..
well, for people like us that started off our crypto journey late this year, it's been more of the learning phase with little application and so my experience isn't much to be talked about.

But I have acquired the foundational knowledge that is needed to push me into becoming a string person in the crypto space from next year. Because I joined the forum a bit late, my plan has been to grow in the forum, read through post and get insight into relevant topics that would grant me ease in my growth in the crypto space. I have read, learned, contributed and participated in discussion that has shaped my understanding for the better and I'm damn excited already for the wealth of knowledge that I have acquired thus far.

As I know, many people in this community are skeptical about crypto scams, So you at least understand the signs of fraud in the crypto world

I would say this bear has been the longest since I ventured into the crypt space but this year has shown some some relief with signs of bull run becoming more feasible. Annual report is good to access how one's portfolio has performed particularly if involved in DCA during the bear market. My exploit from the above aforementioned exchange is less than a year and tbh it's quite interesting even though few of my holdings are yet to print some decent profit like Ordi, Inj and btc have done so far. The highlight of my less than a year trading with them was their launchpad event which has positively impacted on the price of bgb since my first entry price.

Cryptocurrency journey this year went so smoothly,  my investment in Crypto this year was about bitcoin and ethereum.  I so much believe in this two Crypto and I decided to buy and hodl knowing fully well that bull market is close and it is going to be profitable. Chosen bitcoin and ethereum is a the best decision I took this for my investment,  their are other cryptocurrencies that are doing well in the market that I would have invested but I don't really fancy them because I don't have much trust in them .

I must say every year in crypto is full of drama, hope and coronation in my opinion. We saw exploite, hacks, revival of project that were on the brink of a collapse along with successful emergence of new one. FTX and alameda scandal, LUNA crash was two from many that shows us drama, rally of SOL after its crash to 10$ gives us hope about that project and successful emergence of all the ethereum L2 project shows us the coronation of ETH network. My journey in crypto for this year was slow but steady progress to my portfolio and i am happy about it.
