Title: Will you gamble on Bitcoin ETF approval results?
Post by: Fiatless on January 05, 2024, 11:24:58 AM
A Polygon-based gambling site allows gamblers to gamble on the outcome of the spot Bitcoin ETF application by some investors. Gamblers are required to choose Yes” or “No” bets on whether the Bitcoin ETF applications will be approved or not. According to a report about $1.5 million worth of bets have been placed and bettors are patiently waiting for SEC's decision. From reports it seems that the majority of gamblers believe that the SEC will approve so the majority of them choose yes.

I know that there are diverse bets on unconventional events like Miss World, the US election and even wars. But this one is new and I just want to know if you will be comfortable betting on the spot Bitcoin ETF.

If the casino I’m currently using should make such bet available for me I’ll bet on it without stress. Whether I bet on it or not won’t change what’s going to happen so why not just take the opportunity to make myself a little cash ?

But if I have to create a different account on a casino just so that I can bet on it, I won’t and that’s the only limiting factor I can currently think of.

What is the odd for yes or no? That is what some gamblers would want to know. I do not know the odd and I may not gamble with it. It is the odd that will encourage or discourage some gamblers.

Miss world, US election, my country election on local gambling sites and this one are the type of games I do not gamble. I prefer football. Sometimes I go for table tennis.

But i prefer casinos than bookies.

Bookies are the ones providing this kind of bet. Some casinos are also bookies, maybe the reason you have seen it on a gambling site that are both casinos and bookies.

This seems interesting to discuss because it is very busy on social media discussing the approval of this ETF. If the bet is held, it is possible that many will want to bet on the approval of this bitcoin ETF. Moreover, there are lots of strange bets available in casinos so it is not impossible that this could happen. Bitcoin ETF approval makes this a good bet in casinos, if it's profitable why not, but I don't see any casinos I usually play at available such bets.

I don't know if it's because it's not interesting or it's not available where I usually gamble, but if it was there maybe I would bet on it, I'm just sure this will probably take time and take a lot of time but I believe that this agreement will be approved for the bitcoin ETF application and I will probably choose YES because I am confident that the results will be approved.  ;D

I will wait for my trusted casino to also input this kind of bet.

And I am betting on a "Yes", too. I believe Bitcoin ETF will be approved but time will only tell. The SEC could keep on declining the ETF application but there's nowhere to run, they are just trying to prolong the inevitable. A lot of supporters of cryptocurrencies are already pushing this to happen and even their own government's senators are supporting Bitcoin as a currency. I think it will just be a matter of time before this happens. Maybe in the first quarter of this year, we will already see it listed as an ETF.
But I also read some rumors/predictions that if this approval gets longer, there's a chance Bitcoin will fall. Well, I seriously doubt that. That bet of "Yes" already tells how many are optimistic that it will be approved.

Of course I have seen different types of bets in these days casino catching up with the latest global activities in bets and that is really making the gaming industry attractive with buzz going on in social media and traditional. We just witnessed the last miss world in bets, we have had the US election also and probably going to witness another of it in their next election. I think we would have also witnessed the "ceremonial" boxing bout between Elon musk and Mark Zuckerberg if it happened. And now the bitcoin ETF is about to go live on bet but the challenge is that not most of the casino activate such betting options and that limit some gamblers the opportunity to stake in them because they may not desire to start a new registration with the casino having the option just for such reason, a one day event that would discontinue for longer time to come. Surely, I believe some gamblers would consider betting on the bitcoin ETF if the odds are good.

I wouldn't place my bet on people's determination, especially this one which is the approval of spot ETF. This is because this approval issue didn't start today but it has being since onset, about SEC approval of spot ETF and it didn't come to pass. Gamblers can bet on any event of their choice as long as money is involved, and gamblers uses everything they see as an opportunity to gamble for profit.

I don't like to bet on these type of events where my skill wouldn't be put in use, but a guess work. Instead of this, I will gamble on slot machines. I love watching and having fun when betting and I don't see this kind of bet entertaining.

I can not waste my time on what I do not know when it is going to be approved. SEC has let people know that it is going to be approved but SEC do not let anyone know if the approval day is near or some months from now. There are games I can play and see the result almost immediately, I will prefer to go for that kind of games than wasting my time on bitcoin spot ETF approval.

If it was a Polygon based betting site then I wouldn't be betting and lazy making there this is not a game I want but they are doing an over the top joke, even saying in the article someone will lose a lot of their grandchildren's school money just betting on a spot bitcoin ETF that will be approved YES or NO.

If there was a casino that provided this I would probably put YES believing that the spot ETF would be approved.
Again, this is not unusual but people are quite curious what the SEC decides later there may be intentions where they can profit or lose.

I'm sure casinos won't offer this bet.

This is a time-based bet

Quote
According to Polymarket, the market will resolve to “Yes” if any spot Bitcoin ETF receives approval from the SEC by Jan.15, 2024, at 11:59:59 pm Eastern Time. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No.” This means holders of either bets will see their earnings or losses by the deadline set.
And there's a possibility that the no will win the bet if there is no decision comes out on that specific date Jan.15, 2024, at 11:59:59 pm Eastern Time, and to back it up there's one article here, and it quoted Markus Thielen, head of research at crypto financial services firm Matrixport

Quote
“While we have seen frequent meetings between the ETF applicants and staff from the SEC, which resulted in the applicants refiling their applications, we believe all applications fall short of a critical requirement that must be met before the SEC approves,” Thielen writes. “This might be fulfilled by Q2 2024, but we expect the SEC to reject all proposals in January.”

BTC ETF watch: Crypto firm Grayscale just gave a major sign that SEC approval is imminent (https://www.fastcompany.com/91005310/crypto-firm-grayscale-just-gave-major-sign-that-bitcoin-btc-etf-sec-approval-is-imminent)

So if the opinion is accurate it will not be approved this January but it may be eventually approved later but not this January, ETF decision is so important that the casinos have come up with the betting for community awareness.

No, there is no fun on there.

I rather bet on Sportbet rather than betting on these type game. At least, even you're losing still enjoying the match rather than these waiting some news with just a few mins after they tell us ~XD.

Sportbet still most recommended things.

Why not? If you can win big money like in sports betting, then there will be fun on this kind of bet. I haven't click on the link yet and so it's interesting what will be the odds this time so that we can decide which win to bet.

Maybe this will be out on our favorite sports betting site and who knows, maybe crypto gamblers are waiting for this kind of games as well.

Anyhow, just gamble what we can afford to lose and in the end it's up to us whether we are willing or not.

Why I need to gamble on manipulation, SEC can approve today and then decide to cancel it or ban Bitcoin, who knows right? centralized institution is fan of ban and unban laws.

Gambling in ETF approval is pretty much similar like you trade in futures whether you take short or long position.

even saying in the article someone will lose a lot of their grandchildren's school money just betting on a spot bitcoin ETF that will be approved YES or NO.
That's a gambling addict, he doesn't follow the rule "only gamble what you can afford to lose".

Probably wouldn't, sounds rather boring. I've betted on Miss world before so I have experience with these kinds of bets. As for the US election I think I just watched the bet itself happen? Didn't have enough money sadly. Those two were much more fun to watch really, has more "oomph" to it if I were to describe it. Waiting for the SEC to make a decision on the other hand... well, sounds really boring. And while I myself am waiting for what the results would be, betting itself would be another thing.

Probably its not interested for betting on bitcoin ETF approval because take time more delay and boring waiting when the result announcing will approve or reject, I am not long term gambler typical like bet for the winner team in competition because waiting more than several months later for the result. Its advantage for SEC Commission keep delay their approving ETF bitcoin and get chance possibility with bitcoin some time drop to lower price and another time give moment for bitcoin going up.

Interested for sport betting than gamble on Bitcoin ETF approval, I don't know who is the ideas about gambling on bitcoin ETF approval because full of drama make by SEC Commission.

Well this kind of bets is somehow like the bets on who is gonna win the league or cup at the beginning of every football season although this one is somehow manipulative and I don't think I will gamble and wait that long besides where is the fun is this type of betting. I rather bet on soccer games and even the soccer games, it will be the one that's played after the 90mins because even waiting on the league to be finished is still rather boring moreover how do you even think the odds will be set because I don't see bookmakers given the type of prediction big odds to bet on.

i'm not the type of person who likes betting on strange things, for example miss world, us elections, etc., because i think when i bet on these things it's much more difficult than a sports match, since i can't analyze and really depends on luck.

especially when it comes to bitcoin etfs, it's much easier for me to invest in bitcoin while waiting for the outcome of the bitcoin etf decision, rather than having to bet on a platform and lose my money when the decision doesn't match what i expected.

ET is inevitable like they said so many bettors will probably go for yes. If it's just yes or no I would bet YES. But I think the platform will bet with a date such as "will the ETF be approved on Jan 14, 2024?"  If the ETF isn't approved on the said date, you will lose.

There is just no particular date that it will be approved, so many speculations even in 2023 but not one ETF was approved.

I couldn't see the articles though. Cointele pages just timeout.  504 Gateway Time-out

People really have money to throw for any clout and jokes. Is money that easy to get that people now throw on the street for anything or this is another way for the creators to syphon from the people because they know something about ETF approvals that we don't know? This is odd that we are using government to make money withing crypto industry, just trying to outsmart each other.

Now, what if SEC see this and place money on the NO and decide to reject ETF completely? I guess SEC will be the one to enjoy the millions of dollars people decide to throw down the street. In my opinion, they are not even smart to make this kind of moves, insider person from SEC can see this and do some underground staking when he is sure of the position of SEC and Bitcoin ETF approval and that person will definitely take home a huge amount of money, even the person with good intentions that brings the idea of this gambling might not make something big like that but who knows if this is even SEC groups that set up this idea to manipulate people.

Every bettor is interested in how much they will win when they bet, no bettor desire to throw away their money.

I haven't bet on certain events like Bitcoin ETF or others. Maybe it will be interesting to bet while determining what will happen later. But we still have to be careful in placing bets and only use the money we can afford so that if we lose, we don't lose a lot of money. And just leave it to the greedy gamblers who want to win big by placing big bets.

But if it is an ETF, I am still not sure if it will be approved immediately considering that the ETF has been postponed several times. So I'll just skip it and wait for the results. There are many other bets that are more interesting so maybe I will place a bet on something else.

I have also heard about it, and it seems like a group of people still like drama from various sources. In this case, I am not participating because I don't think that no matter what the result is that betting is not something that brings me joy, despite knowing that many people are talking about it as the release date approaches. I remember the only time I played this type of betting was the US presidential election results, and since then I have stopped this form. Actually, I sometimes know there is a shadows behind it but people still want to bet.

I'm also rooting for the SEC to approve the spot Bitcoin ETF application by some investors It is the victory of the industry and by putting on my bet to Yes it is a vote of support for me, but I read some articles that there's a big possibility that approval is not likely to happen this January, its possible that it will happen later probably the second quarter of this year.
Just in time for the next halving, it's a win-win situation for the community if SEC approves it close to the date of the next halving, maybe this is the news that we're waiting for, for Bitcoin to hit $100k.
So far no popular casinos have created betting on ETF but they may do in the future, inspired by A Polygon-based gambling site.

for $0.19 to bet on NO you get $2.28. Yes for $0.79 win $9.48 they are all very alluring.
this kind of game is where SEC will win. if the platforms enjoy this so much, they will just keep this ETF approval game running until SEC insider earns enough.

this seems like a game for the SEC insider.  probably not best to engage until there is one ETF that is approved already which the bets will be more exciting.

This bet will be interesting if there’s a target date of approval because the bet will still play in case the SEC delayed it. Bitcoin ETF approval is already done deal even without approval result yet. SEC is cooperating now for Bitcoin ETF owners to meet the guidelines so there’s no way they will deny it with this kind of effort.

I wonder what’s the odds for the bet “YES” since the majority placing bet on it. That 1.5M bet will surely just get minimal profit since there’s few bet on the opposite side.

It has been many years since the SEC has been delaying Bitcoin EFT. so I won't be surprised if the SEC once again says that they are delaying because they need more time to make a decision, after a few months they postpone again, it seems to me that the ETF problem will only be resolved when US politicians sit down and approve laws on bitcoin, with this the SEC would already have the basis to approve the bitcoin ETF. but many people have high expectations that the bitcoin ETF will be approved, but I think people should place a stop loss, because if the bitcoin ETF is not approved we will see the price falling below $37000, I predict that we will return to $32000. now talking more about this site that allows people to place bets

Whether the ETF will be approved or not is still only given two options: YES or NO. In my opinion, this site could create problems if they didn't have options to refund people's money if the section postpones it again. because in my opinion there is a greater chance of the section not talking about yes and no, but rather saying that it is postponing their decision for more months so that they have more time to analyze the entire process, it has been like this for many years, the section keeps postponing, postponing, postponing and then rejecting. They don't reject the first submission, they keep postponing it at least 3 times and after they reject it, what will happen if they reject it?

Betting will definitely mean that everyone will become addicted to someone's desires, but the interesting thing is that the conflict between the rise or fall of the Bitcoin number becomes the first problem for every expert or owner, because this number will become a loss for the person who is always diligent in following his bet

The wait can be agonizing, especially for those who see an ETF as a gateway to wider adoption and a potential price surge. The SEC's repeated rejections can feel like a dam holding back a tidal wave of excitement. But like you say, perhaps their resistance is just delaying the inevitable.

The groundswell of support is undeniable. Crypto enthusiasts are vocal, and even governments are starting to acknowledge the digital currency's growing influence. With senators advocating for its recognition, the tide might be turning towards acceptance.

Many people optimism about a Q1 listing speak volumes. It reflects the hope that hangs heavy in the air, the belief that regulators will finally listen to the growing chorus of voices demanding recognition.

This is one strategy to push the approval of the bitcoin ETF to become a success. Actually, if the betting platform i am using to bet online add it to their betting option then yes i will bet on.

And if i am betting. I would choose the option "No". Because i dont see the approval of the Bitcoin ETF to happen anytime soon. If it were to happen then there are dome news that would have disseminated from last month up to this month.

If many people are of the opinion that "yes" ETF will be approved, then I guess the odds will be bigger for bettors that chose the NO option. I would have loved to also stake on this, but it's not yet been added to the casino I am using, so I wouldn't bother to go over to the Polygon gambling site.

This whole Bitcoin ETF thing is blowing up on social media lately.  Everyone's blabbing bout whether it'll get approved or not.  Makes me wonder what kinda odds them gambling sites are giving it and  I don't have a clue about the numbers, and even if I did, I probably wouldn't put money down anyway.  But for some bettors out there, knowing the odds could make or break whether they throw chips at this thing.

Me personally? I'll just watch this circus play out from the sidelines with some popcorn in hand. That approval has to land one way or another eventually. Until then, I'll let other people worry about which way to bet and how much.

No because there's no gambling market I can trust on this issue.
UMA who opperates polymarket.com is literally worse than a monkey in settling its markets and I think no one should trust them.

Take this market as an example:
https://polymarket.com/event/did-israeli-intelligence-have-advanced-knowledge-of-the-attack

The question was
Did Israeli intelligence have advanced knowledge of the Attack?
There have been statements released from Israeli newspapers as well as the New York Times proving that Israel had prior knowledge to the attack. And yet UMA simply denies the truth, making so many people lose money...
The issue has been disputed but it's still unclear when the market will be settled, which is just another red flag.

To me betting on this is rather boring, but if it was really easy I'd do it, but unfortunately it's not. You need to register on a specific casino and you need polygon while I have only bitcoin. I'd have to pay fees to get my bitcoin there and exchange it to an altcoin just to make a bet. It's only worth it if you bet a lot of money, otherwise the fees will eat a large part of your win, not to mention the fact that if it gets approved you'll miss the bitcoin pump. IMO if you want to bet on approval, you can buy bitcoin. It's the easiest and safest way.

It is actually an interesting bet and from the response, it is obvious that the Bitcoin community are showing some l3vel of solidarity as can be seen from their level of optimism that the ETF will be approved.

Personally I consider this bet too risky even though I have the feeling that it will be a yes. The betting companies will have a tough time paying the winnings if it turn out to be a yes.

I am surprised to this new betting pattern, first i am a traditional gambler, such kind of betting isn't too fine with me because I cannot ordinarily predict the outcome, this approval from SEC has been on their table for a very long time, I feel is another means to mount pressure on SEC to go on with the approval of spot Bitcoin ETF without hesitation. however brought up the concept has made some good moves because it's nice trying to see some people stick out their money in support of the ETF, because lots of people will bet in favour of the approval.

Gambling sites are always making use of any opportunity they have. I am surprised to see this news, but I don’t think the gambling site I am using has any offers like this. I will try to look for any gambling with this offer. I also need to place my bet. I don’t see anything bad with options like this, but when placing a bet, we should gamble responsibly. Don’t be too confident when gambling, so always gamble with the amount you can afford to lose. Gambling sites will always do what will favour them, they don’t really care much about gamblers, so we have to be careful.

It's a good one while it's still on the hot seat before the actual result come.

Anything that we can gamble on and with this, we're all waiting for the result so why not gamble with it?  :P

While everybody thinks that the chance of getting an approval is high, then the odds will be not that much for the yes(approval). But if you want to gamble and has the same belief that it will get a decline, get a no.

This one is quite interesting to bet though, even if we know the result does not really matters high since we know bitcoin can still be successful even without SEC's approval. But since it's the one that trends now in the social media, then there's no wrong if we can also ride with the trend and make an income of it for fun.

Well, as long as we will only bet an amount that we are comfortable of losing, I think that's fine. Whether if it's a win or loss, at least we also enjoy the fun on betting it.

It's a fifty-fifty bet, in the end, it can be approved or not. So I guess the odds are very low... so if someone doesn't wish to "risk" a fortune there's no profit in betting on this one.

People like to bet on everything, but to make some profit you need to risk a nice amount of money. I wouldn't be ready to gamble with big amounts just like that, with some "insider info" I would do it for sure... this is rigged 101%, some people can make a few bucks betting on this, but a few selected ones will make millions just like that!

504 Gateway Time-out
You mean the delays for the ETF is inevitable, because how many times we get a response like that? So actually this makes the people or the gambler doubt if it will ever be approved or not. I don't want to be negative so I will still vote for yes. Apart from the yes or no choices, what you said of the approval dates might also be included and it may not yet limited to that.

We already know the gambling platforms, they always prepare more ways for the bettors to place a bet, as that can also mean more income to them. I check the Cointelegraph link by the way and it works fine to me. So the problem is probably on your side only, but you can always try it again.

It will not be good to be a gambler who does not have restrictions, and gambles on every game, sports or other kinds of activities that are not even conventional things to bet on. Irresponsible gambling does not just mean that you cannot control the number of times you gamble and the money spent, it can also mean that you cannot control yourself when it comes to gambling and you make yourself available to gamble on anything be it sports, a game or even regular activities that people do not usually bet on. Just like people like to have a brand of drink that they like, have a sport or game that you gamble on, not everything.

There will be no manipulation on here unless Gary and his gang see this thread and the articles that show about betting on the Bitcoin ETF results. But I don't think that even with that their credibility will be on set just for the money to gamble. I'd make a bet on this one because the ratio of winning and losing is just the same. Despite all the positive feedback from the community and news that have been set, I won't say that there's the clear result while we haven't seen it yet about the potential of being approved.

Yes I will comfortably place my bet if I come across it. personally I'm convinced that the Bitcoin ETF application will be approved.
This is the thought of the majority of us that we're positive and thinking that it is convincing that the Bitcoin ETF applied by BlackRock and other financial institutions are likely to be approved by the SEC. But as long as there is no final and official announcement then this means that we're not yet there. Somehow, we're all having this thought that it's just a formality that we are waiting for the SEC's publishing of it on its website and their actual proclamation which excites the entire world.

reading the article the OP shared, If you want to bet on "yes" it will be $0.79 per share, and if you want to bet on "no" it will be $0.21 per share. I am not really familiar with this kind of prediction betting but I do the gist of it.

If have gambled then you're probably out of luck at this point. News broke out earlier this week about the SEC not approving any Spot bitcoin ETFs so that pretty much means there's not much we can expect out of the outside market at this point. Funny how it brought bitcoin down to a 5% drop as well only for it to recover eventually, further proving the fact that something else seems to be the reason as to why bitcoin continuously pumped in value and relevance over the past few months.

In any case this is still not the end for Spot Bitcoin ETFs, for sure there will be further attempts made in the future to finally put bitcoin into mainstream but until then, you guys might wanna hold off on spending your bankrolls on bets that are a little precarious lol. Stick to the conventional ones for now is all that I'm trying to say.

At this point, I don't think I would because while we would have to acknowledge the delay in the SECs decision on the Bitcoin ETF, it is of paramount importance for crypto investors to maintain a multidimensional perspective.

By evaluating market dynamics  and volatility alongside regulatory considerations, one can enhance their risk management strategies and restrategise on the best approach necessary.
Future innovations  and undetermined developments, should be monitored with  a look at the statistical and analytical prowess and openmindedness of the individual investor as well, before one can have the flare to gamble on the results of Bitcoin ETF approval.

I have no desire to bet on ETF approval results, because it's an event playing with interests from big players of the financial world, plus the interests of the strongest nation's personal financial affairs, which is USA. You can analyze the scenario accurately, reading all the news, opinions from experts economists, having access to insider informations, but in the end, the final result is still under heavily possibility of manipulation. It's not the kind of game small fishes should take part in. Let the whales decide and do as they wish. For us it won't change anything... The important is that halving is near, and that should be the profit opportunity to be looked for.

It's like betting on a fixed match without knowing which side paid more to fix the match. You don't have real chances to win, because the results aren't based on logical and legit performance, rather they are based on agreements made on the backgrounds.

Betting for the decision of SEC regarding Bitcoin ETF is not my line and I only bet on sports where I can do analyze and with this, its a totally a guess bet since we don’t have the idea if SEC will in favor this time. This kind of betting option can also be manipulated, especially if you are part of SEC where you already know the decision. If you’re into this kind of bet and its ok for you to take the risk, then go for it there are rumors that SEC will decline this, it can be true and if you will bet then there’s a chance for you to make profit.

I hadn't seen this type of bet yet, but I find them super interesting because the result of the vote can never be challenged, as the SEC would never overturn this decision.

I'm quite biased when betting, mainly due to the fact that my opinion is contrary to the majority (I vote NO), so if I'm right I would win a higher amount. I believe that the president of the SEC remains very suspicious of fraud in the cryptoactive ecosystem to be able to approve an instrument that should make institutional investors dive head first into a sector that moves billions of dollars.

But the main bet is on the Bitcoin buying/selling movement, because if it is not approved, the price of Bitcoin should plummet. The opposite should not happen, as I believe that the market has already priced the value of Bitcoin in anticipation of this SEC approval.

Depending on the facts on the ground,  but ordinarily, I will bet on such a prediction since it's obvious that there is already a lot of green light as to when to expect that ETF approval so for we may have a high chance if you choose a yes and speculate the right timing as going by the roadmap for that approval.

Just like we have bitcoin price prediction games in the same vein also we can predict the bitcoin ETF approval and to win some cash.

There's a lot of betting options like this, and many are still betting so i think this is still fine since the chances of winning is high and its a 50/50 percentage. Let's just hope that SEC will finally consider this so we can see a big pump in the market and we might see new ATH if SEC will release such good news.

This Bitcoin ETF is getting more interesting everyday and has now become the major discussion in the cryptocurrency community now. Casinos are trying to take advantage of the happenings in the cryptocurrency market in order to make some cash for themselves. I know that majority of those that will bet on this will go for yes because the probability of its approval is likely higher than it now approved. The odds for not being approved will be higher than that of the approval. I won’t bet on something like this because I’m not even much interested in the outcome of its approval.

But looking at the development of bitcoin to date and in the future, the SEC should approve it, but I don't know because this still concerns the interests of many parties who still want to reject bitcoin. Yes, it's really risky if we bet on this outcome. Its fluctuations are so significant that we cannot bear them. Only luck can help us. This playground is precisely as you said for sharks. Market manipulation is entirely possible. I have seen the market go against the published news. Just like yesterday, I tried to make some profit from this news. And I lost $167 in an instant.
No one can predict whether the halving event will continue to repeat, but I will also try to make some profit from this event. We will quickly receive rewards from these events, but the risks are also very high. Those of you waiting for this news, I think you should wear your seat belt because it moves like a roller coaster.

Well, whoever bets on this is just for the sake of having fun and at the same time is just eager to wait for the announcement. So, there are no heart feelings that will be part of the bet and you're just setting yourself on how you're going to buy on this one. It's true that anything can happens and even if the chance of getting it approved is quite high but don't dwell on that confidence. We've seen it for how many times that it has been rejected before years ago so it's nothing new to get surprised if the results are the opposite.

I'm not interested in betting on a Bitcoin ETF because we've already seen several delays and there's no clarity on when the SEC will approve or reject it.
I think that the fun starts when we don't know about the clarity of it and there's equal opportunity for every bettor who would like to bet on this event. Whether it's going to be approved or not, as long as you are happy with the results and most especially if you've won the bet then that's for sure the win that you're waiting for. So, it's all fair for everyone who's going to bet on the outcome of the decision as per SEC.

Not really that shocking on which platforms or companies or betting sites would really be offering something like this on which this is something that could really be giving out that kind of result which its a yes or not. Approval or getting rejected on which there are no other paths that would really be taken. This is why its not really that shocking that events like this even if its that too important on crypto community on which there's no exemptions that it would really be included into these type of betting on which this is really that something that cant be exempt and people would really be loving
on taking up some bet on that. Seeing into that accumulate amount of bet then it does really shows on how high the interest and demand on which they do know that they could
take out advantage of it or simply being beneficial.

Yes, it is like that, but we have seen what has happened so far, where the SEC continues to delay it, so many of us are pessimistic that this month, the SEC will immediately approve it. And if this is the month we've been waiting for when the SEC finally approves the ETF, it could boost bitcoin to even higher prices. Indeed, when we place a bet and wait for the result, whether it is approved or still pending, and we can be the winner, it will give us joy because we managed to become the winner. Yes, you can try to bet on this event, and who knows, you could be the winner.

That's true; the whole ETF approval matter has been delayed several times already. I'm not too fond of betting on something that has been postponed several times already. I have mixed feelings about the ETF approval. On the one hand, I'm positive that Bitcoin will be approved, while on the other, it's constantly being postponed. Why hasn't it been approved or even denied at this point? Why are the results delayed by that much?

In the end, in my opinion, it's going to be approved anytime in the future; however, I wouldn't bet on it; the 50/50 chance doesn't look too appealing to me. Despite what happens, even in the scenario where it's not approved, Bitcoin will do just fine without it, as it did for all these years.

Most of the votes in the betting are yes the SEC approves the ETF, but you are right that no one knows when this decision will actually come, whether the approval of the Bitcoin ETF application comes this month or when.
It just that many people, including investors, are waiting and they hope the SEC will approve it in the near future.
But betting on something like this will be much more difficult than other bets such as sports betting, I personally don't have the desire or decision to be able to take part in betting and I would much prefer to use the money I have to bet on sports because the opportunities are more visible and the results will be exactly as scheduled.
But for those who bet on options like this, it doesn't matter because this is quite important and of course the approval of the Bitcoin ETF application could have very positive impact on the future development of Bitcoin.

If commercial online gambling casinos like Stake, Rollbit and the rest will implement events like and allow us to bet on them, why not? I would gladly bet put a bet through, and I did be betting on a yes, and this is because, from the data available online, it's imminent that the US security and exchange commission are going to approve the bitcoin spot ETF, the only challenge is that, we don't know when for sure, though speculators are speculating that the approval will come through on or before the 10th of this month being by next week Wednesday, this is just speculation.

And personally, I think this type of bet will be very easy to win, but where it will become challenging is if the casino require gamblers to bet on the specific day and (possibly) time the ETF will be approved, this is the area I think alot of gamblers will lose  ;D.

What is the odd for yes or no? That is what some gamblers would want to know. I do not know the odd and I may not gamble with it. It is the odd that will encourage or discourage some gamblers.
As gamblers with a long time experience about how these odds are apportioned we all can without stress imagine what the odds difference would be like, The odds for a YES to a bitcoin ETF approval will be very small while that of a NO  that there won't be an approval of the ETF will be the big odd.

The possibility of having the bitcoin ETF approved is very much possible based on a lot of paperwork's that have been put in place with some legal backing to it's pending approval. No casino will want to take that risk of implementing such bet option in their site as they are aware that on this path they have no hedge as to whatever or otherwise of what the result will be but an eventual approval. Mind you delay is not denial.

Whether it's going to be approved or not, as long as you are happy with the results and most especially if you've won the bet then that's for sure the win that you're waiting for. So, it's all fair for everyone who's going to bet on the outcome of the decision as per SEC.
Even if we do speak about on having no involvement of money or betting on which the community would really be still having those kind of choices whether ETF could be approved or would be rejected or would really be that delayed again for this year on which same as you said that no one really knows on what would happen. If there would really be those platforms on which they do included out this kind of stuff to be bet on then
its not really that a bad choice considering that it would really be always relevant considering that people who do gamble out on crypto based platforms are pretty much aware of Bitcoin on which means that it is normal that they would really get easily hook up on making betting just because they do know on what Bitcoin is and to those things around on whats happening.

Wil you gamble if you do see that this is something available? It would really be just that depending to someones preference since there are people who are really that
interested on this and there are ones who arent. So its up into your personal choice in the end of the day.

I believe as the approval is getting near, the odds will be low as most are expecting that this will finally be approved.
But to be conservative on this betting line, much better if you will only use spare money so you won't get rekt big time.
For the odds, just head to the polymarket site. I don't think it is available in regular bookies here in the forum.
I am guessing even noncrypto users are placing their bets on this one because the likelihood of approval is quite high.

Many of us are confident that a Bitcoin ETF will be approved, even though we don't know when that will happen and are still waiting for the time. But what is happening is that there are still delays that occurred before, and whether this time it will be postponed again or whether it will be immediately approved, we also don't know. But it looks like this time, it will still be postponed, and perhaps after the presidential election, there will be a bright spot.

In the meantime, we can skip the event by looking for other bets, and perhaps we can return to sports betting for a while. Or we can place bets on ETFs but don't expect much from the results because this is just for fun.

Many people would vote yes, the SEC approves ETFs, but we don't know what happens. This event was full of unnecessary drama, but it seemed like it had been planned by several parties. Yes, it will be more difficult to choose the bets, but maybe people are just choosing the bets this time for fun and not taking it seriously. People are waiting for the moment of approval because they think that with the approval of the Bitcoin ETF, it can push the price to increase very high, and there may also be a long rally for the price of bitcoin so that it can break through the previous ATH price. If a Bitcoin ETF is approved, it will change cryptocurrencies in the eyes of many governments and the public, so there is a possibility that the adoption process will grow even faster.

Tired of waiting for it too. I would rather be betting on something else. Who knows Gensler could be betting NO again and he wins this bet, easy money for him.

ETF approval will just keep the investors waiting and its too much of a distraction anymore, they were even sending an alert this time that Blackrock has $2B ready for the ETF. I don't think you can believe it anymore. The chances of this approval happening are after the halving and the price continues to go up while the market is unsustainable already. People will be buying while the institutions are selling.

Such prediction can be manoeuvred and compromised by the way it was ought to be at when some of the all awaiting approval organisers could have interests based on the prominent and attractive amount of stakes on the board because it is a not projected game specifically for gambling even though there is is possiblity means of stakes like that.
So, I am personally not staking a bet on such instead I stick to my reliable betting sites.
Besides.... I still don't know how attractive it would be of me giving any form of off gambling program that is not strictly projected for gambling a try to stake. I am just cool with my casino gambling sites here.

I know that there are diverse bets on unconventional events like Miss World, the US election and even wars. But this one is new and I just want to know if you will be comfortable betting on the spot Bitcoin ETF.

No I am not going to bet on that event, at least for me it doesn't really make sense to place a bet. I can understand that people like to bet on big events like elections, miss universe competitions, or other things. But when it comes to bitcoin I am only heavily invested in the market and would participate from the ETF approval. There are only two outcomes and we could use the bet to hedge ourselves against the ETFs not being approved and a short term drop in prices. But this would only reduce our profits if we believe in the long term positive trend of bitcoins. So, instead of gambling here I would just use that money and keep buying bitcoins directly to keep growing my portfolio.

On investment approach then you would really be definitely be doing this on which you wont really be making out bets basing up whether ETF would be that approved or gets rejected.
Pretty sure that most of us here are really that investing into crypto aside on just playing gambling, we do have our own portfolio. Some do really have those interest on betting
about on future market events and make money out of those via betting but there are ones who do really make out some separation in between leisure and their investment
just because they do feel that this is something more ethical on doing so rather than on betting against your will and preference on which i dont see
something wrong with this.

I don’t think there will be anything that will change my opinion about bitcoin sooner or later because of how I trust the system on which it works on. Spot Bitcoin ETF will just cause some imbalance in the market and the market will get back to its normalcy after the incident. If you have got a plan on how to accumulate bitcoin or sell, the state of spot bitcoin ETF should not scare you to scatter your plans, stick to it. If there’s a way to benefit massively from the spot Bitcoin ETF approval, you can follow the trend and take your profit immediately. Don’t forget that the market will return to its not make way after this event have taken place.

What's the imbalance that it will give to market? It's going to give more exposure to the actual Bitcoin market but I agree to you that everything is going to be back to normal after all of these applications, approvals, rejections and adoptions come.

There must be a feeling of boredom when someone waits for the bet to be finished. But if it were just for fun and placing a bet and then forgetting about it and letting it happen, it would be better for him because he wouldn't have to think about it and would rather focus on other things. The important thing was that he had placed his bet and let the outcome be.

I'm not waiting for ETF Approval anymore because it's been postponed too many times. I better prepare to collect more bitcoins in an effort to wait for the new ATH price for bitcoin. We'll see what happens, and if the ETF approval is delayed again, that's okay because it means we are still given the opportunity to buy more bitcoin.

While there are rumors that there's the likely that it's gonna get approved. One day, an ETF will be approved, and it is only a matter of time. We don't know what decision the SEC will make this time. But seeing that there was a previous delay makes me feel less interested because I feel like the SEC will delay it again this time. If the ETF is indeed approved, there are definitely signs that it will come out in the market, but so far, the price is still going up and down.

Perhaps I'll place a bet too, but I don't know, I'm still not moved to go to the market and place a bet ahahaha.

Let's us be careful where we are gambling as many would hide under this to swindle people. But for gambling of this sort, it is not new, only that the ETF per se is new when it comes to the Bitcoin investment, and since it is what is appreciated now, people are finding ways to make money around it and I do not think that this is a bad idea if it is legit.

But who knows the capacity of the people involved? What if the number of people that won the bet is in the hundreds of millions, can they ever be able to pay? That is the risk since no one knows their financial standing but just gambling. They might have been doing similar things before but the amount might not be as high as it would be now to the point that it could overwhelm them. Well, I sense trouble if more people participated and the amount of running to a huge value. For me, I will not gamble on my money with them, but if it is another trusted site that is well-experienced in gambling, why not?

It's quite difficult to guess whether Bitcoin ETF will be accepted or not and therefore I don't want to risk my money on something that is difficult to predict, but I'm not saying that this bet is not interesting, it is interesting but not suitable for me. Moreover, not all casino platforms provide a place where their members can bet on things like this, especially the casino platform I'm using right now, they don't provide betting features like this, maybe because it's not profitable for them.

but of course this will only happens to my trusted casino sites and not those random who is just wanting to have a possible victims.

I agree, it's just a matter of time. Some ETFs from other countries have been approved, CMIIW. And in the past, there were applications but then rejected. That's why the newer ones have already learned in the past and just corrected what they have to do so basically, it's very likely that we're going to see some approvals, it doesn't matter on how many of them but sure there will be at least one. I just found out that the Bitcoin ETF is used as a betting event, what is the Odds system or for example how prizes are distributed, is there a Reward Pool that has been provided by the site provider according to the amount we bet? Because it is quite interesting that the results of the January 9 meeting are likely to be postponed by the SEC. I may have found out this information too late and was curious as to why people dare to bet with only 2 options 'YES" or "NO". There should be a "Delayed" option.

Bitcoin ETF approval has become a wait on the Godot,  and for sure no one no what next is going to be coming from the sec,  there have been a lot of delays in this regard and as such many have lost hope on timing,  and even though we all anticipates the approval to come on time and get things done with we have to make sure not to become over the bearing of the fact and become too passive in our speculations.

No one knows what will happen next, so everyone is still waiting for it. Even if there will be another delay, people will still wait for it. We don't need to speculate on the price of bitcoin, and it is better to follow its price journey from day to day to see when the ETF approval will be approved. And before that happens, we can continue with our plans to invest in bitcoin so that news about the ETF approval will not divert our focus.

I am also not waiting for ETF approval, but I am still following the price movements of bitcoin. We will see what happens this month, and hopefully, there will be an even higher rise from the current price where the bitcoin price could rise to $46k, and I wonder whether it will break through the $47k price or stay at $46k.

If more countries approve ETFs, that means more opportunities for bitcoin to be accepted globally, providing an impetus for the adoption process to run even better. And until that day, we can only wait without being able to do anything because we are only small users who can only wait for the decision to be approved. And even though the decision will be postponed or even rejected, we can only wait for it, but we still have time to buy bitcoin at the price we want or follow the plan we made.

I'm still waiting and haven't done anything with the bet ;D

If you look at what has happened, there is a possibility that the ETF approval will be postponed again as before, but who knows? I have no idea about this. But yeah, I haven't decided until today. But maybe I'll look for any casinos that already make bets besides that casino.

Later around 30 minutes ago SEC uploaded a PDF regarding ETF approval. And then another drama, The pdf is deleted from the website.

But yeah it seems ETF is Finally accepted.

Those that have bet for this are now in profit but how much it was for you guys? It wasn't that much because the odds are too little.

Those that have bet for this are now in profit but how much it was for you guys? It wasn't that much because the odds are too little.
There was gambling even before the Bitcoin Spot ETF approval application and if there were bets on gambling then there will be gambling if the Bitcoin Spot ETF is approved. But if bitcoin spot ETF is approved, it may open a new horizon in gambling and increase the amount of gambling bets. However, due to the drama seen with Bitcoin spot ETF approval, none of us can confirm whether Bitcoin spot ETF will be approved this year.

To be honest, I really don't want a betting tone regarding Bitcoin ETFs. Because I'm afraid, if a lot of whales or big players place bets, could this have the effect of actually manipulating ETF results? Aah, this is almost over and we still don't think what will happen. But I don't think so. The Bitcoin ETF process has been discussed and analyzed not just at the last minute. However, this long-awaited decision will really affect the price of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general before the halving. There is still a lot of debate regarding whether the Bitcoin ETF will actually be approved or not. and I personally am not interested in betting on that decision.  ;D

I didn’t, because I really thought that the chance was not as big as everyone around was saying and that it wouldn’t happen. But I watch one influencer and he bet 10k that the ETF will be approved. The odds were 1.18. Now he has won. Perhaps he didn’t believe it himself, but did it to show some content to attract more subscribers. In any case, he won, although not by much. Maybe he was just lucky and the next event similar to this will not happen and then he will lose everything he won.

When placing bets like this, you need to have an advantage in knowledge, and only insiders can know this, which also affects the odds. Also, one of the reasons why I didn’t place a bet is that the SEC’s Twitter account was hacked. Such unexpected things make me doubt more than before and that everything may not go as planned.

That's not how they consider whether or not they'd wanna wager their cash on new options like that... They'll simply check on the odds to see if it sooths their play pattern - if it actually does, and their preferred casino supports it, why not?

The only restrictions there would be created by the casinos that support this new event - assuming theirs doesn't... If it's a YES and NO option, I feel it's a bit intriguing and ofcourse, people like to squander on new but, relative ideas.

Yes, some might be having those feeling on having not irrelevant when it comes to gambling but betting into these kind of events could really be considered to be included specially if the platform would be seeing that they could really get some benefit considering that this is one of the huge or main event that we could have into this market on which it is really that impossible for those people who are involved on crypto doesnt really know about it. Just like you do said that if someone do see it for it to be interesting and their bookies do make out some kind of lines or offering those selections
then why not? Why you would really be stopping yourself on taking up some bets according into such event? If they have voted or choose up YES, then they have won that bet.  :P

I know that there are diverse bets on unconventional events like Miss World, the US election and even wars. But this one is new and I just want to know if you will be comfortable betting on the spot Bitcoin ETF.

Because it depends on the individual gambler if he wants to gamble through a bitcoin spot, etc. Honestly, I will not participate in such gimmicks; probably if anyone participated in that matter, they were rich gamblers.

They seem to want to take advantage of whether the bitcoin spot Etf is approved or not; they have something to take advantage of, and for sure, no matter how much they gamble there, they are ready or aware that they will lose it. It's as simple as that; it's probably understandable.

Huge congratulations to everyone who placed a bet on Bitcoun ETF to be approved. Based on the recent news, the ETF has been approved. Holders of "Yes" shares about to get rich.

Although I'm happy for everyone who won, this sort of gambling/prediction markets are definitely not my thing but it's very exciting to see especially as this is a DeFi based product.

Exactly, the obvious is very clear and I'm sure the casino aswell are very much aware so they are definitely not going to let people just get free money just like that so most definitely they may not put it up for gambling and if they do it will have a very little odd such that you may need a very high stake to be able to make good profit off it.

The approval is mostly likely to take place because so far a lot have been do as it regards the sec approving the ETF so if it's there on the casino to place a bet on its then it's definitely an opportunity to make some few bucks because it will most likely turn out in your favor except if it goes otherwise which it's very unlikely but then I'm yet to see any casino make Open a stake for the possible outcome of the ETF even though I know they do make Open bets for other events with much uncertainties but this case has some good level of certainty so that could be the reason why.

It was already approved and there were many of the btc spot etfs have been approved. The bets are done.

Nope, they're already approved as I've said and it has happened a few hours ago and I did even said that for which you've quoted.

Now that the bitcoin ETF has already been approved by the SEC, did anyone in this thread manage to bet that it would be approved and what was the value of the odds and how much money they won? I couldn't see which bookmaker had this event to bet on whether the bitcoin ETF would be approved or not, for that reason I don't know what the odd value was, but I believe it must have been a very high value given the great history of rejections that the bitcoin ETF received from the section. honestly, I didn't even believe that this time they would approve it, I just had a little hope on the 8th, but then I saw that it was fake news and that X's account had been compromised and caused the price of bitcoin to drop a lot that day and next day and when the sec finally approved bitcoin eft the price of bitcoin did not rise at all, it seemed to me that the sec's X account case was a way to prevent the bitcoin market from having a large price increase

even today the price of bitcoin rose a lot but then fell a lot, showing that there are many people who are not looking at the long term, they want to sell as soon as they can make some profit, it will be very difficult to see very high prices in the short term at this rate. Anyway, congratulations to all the people who bet that the section would approve the bitcoin etf, especially if those people who got it right bet using bitcoin then they earned even more because today the price rose to $48,000 and if they sold at that price then they made more profits.
