Title: I'm looking for a group of people who are willing to build for bitcoin
Post by: kaixinTime on January 10, 2024, 09:25:25 AM
My vision: create a social network based on bitcoin/brc20. Make it ensure user privacy and add fun. Expand the uses of bitcoin and make it easier for more people to learn about bit/cryptocurrency and bring btc into our lives.
If you are a marketing expert or a development expert we look forward to hearing from you.
Let's build a network of people together. :)

You really think people are going to join you if they have no idea about what you are trying to build?
For starters, the BRC20's are destroying the main purpose of the Bitcoin network rather than build it, so I am not sure if you will get any fans who are truly enthusiastic about the Bitcoin network.

I did not think that a social network, BRC20 and privacy could come together in a sentence, as a small spam of the BRC20 could lead to an insane increase in fees. Let alone creating a social network that requires thousands of images and megabytes, and these images are visible to everyone and cannot be modified or deleted, which is very bad for privacy.
You can build something on Sidechain, but I think that the performance of a social network on the blockchain would be poor and very expensive.

My opinion: we should use it wisely.

Use solana to do things that bitcoin can't.
Messages could be stored on a centralised server first, and then transitioned to via nodes later on, I wonder what this idea is. Images could optionally be stored on filecoin, Internet Computer, arweave.
I think your "but I think that the performance of a social network on the blockchain would be poor and very expensive." is correct.
Do you have a better suggestion?

Eventhough, I don't really like the idea of using Bitcoin Blockchain other than for Bitcoin transacion, but it's a free world and if you want to do that you can do that. But I think, it will be more attractive if you can at least provide a whitepaper of your product, I saw that you already plan the technical details, so writing a thorough whitepaper wouldn't be a problem. Not just more attractive if you are trying to recruit people, they need to understand your product in details, so they will be sure to know what they are doing and if they are capable of doing that.

I mean for example if you are looking for a developer, there are so many programming languages out there, and I doubt that there everybody knows all of those languages, whitepaper will encourage more people to join your project.

You will face problems such as the need to modify, delete, overwrite, or update data. You will also face problems with intellectual property rights because your servers will control the data before sending it to blockchain nodes, and here you may be asked to perform an intellectual property verification, remove NFTS. All of these things will make the service slow, expensive, and difficult to modify.

Do you have a better suggestion?
The service would be good if it consisted of documenting contracts or certificates, in which the new certificates are listed on top of the old ones, not the social network.

I'll be releasing the whitepaper next week, but can't confirm if it's on bitcoin or not

I think it's hard for me to finish the whitepaper, I can share the interesting features.

1.NFT avatar
2.Red packet function in group
3.Gambling
4.Social circle
......

In the future it should be built on the full blockchain .

You need to be more detail oriented if you want to get people to work with you. Building takes a whole lot more than just an idea. When you see someone desperate to build and develop, he is audible through his words, I have read through your words and I am still looking for that part of determination. If I can not find it, then how do you think some serious minded individuals will join you in this pursuit.

Make it ensure user privacy and add fun.

Bitcoin is the wrong basis for ensuring this. There are much better crypto projects that can ensure this better.

Moreover, as some have already pointed out, this is a completely immature idea. You won't find anyone with two or three sentences about the vision. There are few who have the technical know-how and they certainly won't spend their valuable time on it. First of all, think more deeply and write a white paper or proposal.

These things can be easily managed by interacting with the smart contract, so the onChain bitcoin network is not suitable for this. Either you choose a sidechain and then start building on top of it, or you move to Ethereum, where dealing with smart contracts is better, and then you will face the problem of high fees and you will be forced to move to the second layer, such as MATIC.

NFT Avatars were popular in the past, but companies started to drop the idea.
