Title: Getting acquainted with these forum feature - for beginners specifically.
Post by: Dailyscript on January 17, 2024, 12:32:20 AM
Yeah, there are some features in the bitcointalk forum that help members navigate the forum easily, faster, and smarter, but they are neglected and rarely used at times. One of it is a tab system I found in the bottom right corner of every board. Its a typical drop-down filter that allows you to navigate from one main board to another and also supports navigating between child boards inside parent boards instead of going back to the home page.

So if you find yourself in any parent board or child board, you can just go down here

After that, you will see an entire list of the available child boards and other parent boards there. Choose where you intend to navigate, like your destination, and then you will be there asap!

Have a nice day lovelies

I will use a simpler method.

Example I am in your topic. At top I will see this

Click on Bitcoin Forum will help me to return to the forum main page. The index page.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php

At the index page, you can start reading around many boards.

You can customize your board preferences too:

It's probably neglected for a reason. I haven't used this feature because it seems more inconvenient than just going back to the home page which is only a single click away. And when you're already on the home page, you can more easily navigate to the specific sections and boards you wish to go.

If there are a number of sections and boards you wish to open at the same time, you can easily right click and open them in new tabs. This drop-down feature at the bottom doesn't offer that.

Nice one op. However there already is a thread that explains all these buttons, tools and functions that seem hidden. Below is a link to the post I recommend you check it out.

Doesn't this seem more complicated than just going to the main menu? The forum loads quickly, so if the internet is slow, the pages will load easily.
At the top of topic, you can click on the links that lead to moving from one main council to a sub-board, or returning to the main menu, which is faster than clicking at the bottom and searching for the sub-council.
It will be useful for those who browse the forum without a touch screen or mouse.
