Welcome mate.
If you have good knowledge about bitcoin and bitcoin related, helping others won't be issue. But I think you should first take your time and study how the forum work first. Especially the rules and regulations so that you won't go against it unknowingly.
But that already fixed because @_act_ as made it easier for to access all that you need to understand the forum more better. And ones again welcome, and just flow all those rules and all that and I ensure you the forum would also impact on you massively.

I just created this account not quite long, I've read Most of the posts but I still get confused in some aspect of the forum, I'll be glade if I can get help from anyone from this forum🙏
Kindly be specific about what aspect of the forum that confuses you. And help will be sent your way.

When I first registered my initial confusion what navigating the different boards and sub-boards in regards to posting. Another confusion I had was navigating threads, especially those mega threads in the gambling discussion board. One common mistake I did then was post bumping. I can remember one user put me on their ignore list as the person would mention later when I got the hand of the forum and improved. These are a few of the confusions I had signed up.

I hope you see this and return to specify what the confusion are all about.

Okay now, of all the things mentioned this one will help you the most on the forum, it is a tutorial by fillippone on how to be notified on a smartband of merits and mentions (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5229697.0)

Hi there hope you doing well dear, First of all I welcome you on the forum.

I found the best reply in the thread which can help you to understand the forum environment easily which is by _act_  I suggest you to read his post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5482155.msg63522684#msg63522684) as he mentioned you really good threads links.

well, in my honest opinion you have to stay pure here means you have to avoid plagiarism because if plagiarism is detected in any of your posts your account will be banned. Secondly, avoid spamming here because accounts are being watched by the spam detectors which as a result you may get tagged.

On this forum, you will be able to learn alot of things by interacting with different senior members. if you also contribute here with the knowledge you have your post will be much appreciated. Many Thanks

A warm welcome to this forum. Seems you just started your journey by creating an account today. Normally, you will be confused. When I created the account I did not dare to make a post in the first 3 months. :) So don't care if you are still confused. This will be changed over time for sure.

You should focus on learning:

1. Forums rules
2. How activity works
3. How the merit system works
4. How you can rank up
5. How the DT network works, etc.

So now read the references already posted here. This will help you to understand better the forum.

You have received so many suggestions that will make your stay in this forum fruitful. But let me advise you to read more and write less at this infant stage. It will take some time for you to understand how things are done in the forum so you need to observe and learn more before you start commenting on threads. It is not compulsory to comment on any thread so it is better only to comment on threads where you have something worthy to contribute.

The forums don't tolerate plagiarism, if you are caught doing that it will lead to a ban. This is why you should add references to your posts if they were copied from somewhere. This forum encourages only human interaction so the use of artificial intelligence tools such as chatbots to write posts is highly prohibited.

If you intend to learn about Bitcoin and other cryptos you will find here very useful. And you will always enjoy your stay here if you abide by the forum rules. You are welcome.

All you need is already here. What you only need is attention and focus. Its the duty of everyone here to correct you when you  are wrong. Though learning in this forum might be so cumbersome, but you can develop the habit of reading, all what you need to learn has been posted above with link included. By the way you haven't even started and yet you are beginning to ask for correction. ;D

It would be good if you actually mentioned whihc aspoects of the forum are confusing so people can actually help you. Beside that, bitcointalk basically works like any other forum so if you been on one before, you shoulnd't have much issues around here.
The thing that differentiate this forum from many of the other is freedom of expression so if you are too sensitive, you might have issues around here. Other than that, its the place to be when it comes to anything Bitcoin related.

Welcome to the forum. First,  you should go through the forum rules and regulations to know what the forum is in support of and what it is against. I don’t know how the forum can be explained to you, nobody knows the aspects that are getting you confused. If you can talk about things you don’t understand, then people will be able to guide you. If you are having any problems, then make use of the search function, and if you can’t find solutions to your problem, then you can easily create a thread, and I am sure people will help you out. So just follow the rules, the forum is not a difficult place.

It will be a lot easier to help you if you tell us what part of the forum you find confusing. We were all newbies once and shared the same difficulty in our early days. I believe the forum software is very different from what many newbies are used to on other platforms hence the confusion. I’d advise you to take your time to read the sticky threads and other guides on this board. As a newbie, your area of concentration should be Beginners and help board, you will learn a lot faster if you take one board at a time.

Same condition I was when I first join this amiable community so you don't have to relax for more help or for people to show you how things works here. You need to be ready to learn so that you can get accustomed to the forum and write in a manner that suit you well.
When we are new to things, sometimes it do takes us much time before we get to understand how things works but that should not be a problem for us since you are ready to take every advise.

Welcome to the Bitcoin Forum. If you spend more time on Bitcoin forums, you can definitely learn more. Mark all the things which you find difficult to understand and present them hopefully you will definitely be helped. My advice to you would be to try to be honest in the forum and never try to cheat. Whenever you try to cheat you will be destroyed.

Just press 'Home' at the top when you feel confused or when you do not know on which section are you.

But under that, you can see the 'Bitcoin Forum >' and the section and sub section or childboard where you currently at.

That can be your easy guide for navigating the forum, welcome and enjoy.

Greetings, welcome Mr. Giuseppe_J to the best crypto forum and bitcoin forum of all time, you are very welcome and given the opportunity to learn whatever and whenever you want as long as there is time and willingness. What are you looking for in a forum? There is a lot of help and in my opinion the best response to discussions is on bitcointalk, before that you can find how to organize topics, make useful posts, the merit system and the calculation of ranking, including the security system (DT = default trust) which is on bitcointalk as the link provided by other friends, I personally like it very much. Instructions on how to use BBCode (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4738016.msg42788403#msg42788403), At first when I first used it I was very confused, but I was interested in understanding even though I didn't use it every time in posting, I got carried away if I saw other people's posts, especially if there was a unique symbol / beautiful way of writing, so I look forward to if there are other contributors who use bbcode, very impressive ;D
===========
Recognize your self-expression, forum is the freedom to write with your insight, as long as the post is good and conveyed, even if it is simple you can easily understand and can reach your first rank, I also used to be a Jr member. ;)

You are welcome, most of us at your stage faced the same thing. At the newbie level we don't even know we're to post and comment, we even asked the forum the boards to post and the ones not to post and they told us everything. And what you have to do is to read other posts and if you see any post which you  can make comments don't hesitate to do so because that is best way to go about the forum. Make comments whenever you meet a good topic you understand.

And before you create a thread make you use www.google.com or you use the forum search bar to find out if the thread you about to create has been created by another user and if it does then you don't have to create it but make comments in the thread. But if the thread has not been active for years then you can create your topic and quote the thread you found.

Okay now, of all the things mentioned this one will help you the most on the forum, it is a tutorial by fillippone on how to be notified on a smartband of merits and mentions (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5229697.0)
I have been in the forum for years and I don't need it and I would say it is not important for newbies to get merit notifications.

Newbies must read forum rules, learn about Bitcoin and basics in cryptocurrency. Then they must have good attitude to contribute back to forum community through their posts. If they can make quality posts, it means they can make contributions and become future of Bitcointalk and asset of forum community.

It's not important to pay attention on merit.

It's not important to pay attention on merit.
I think you misunderstood me.
That is literally the title of the topic by fillippone. If you have activated it on your telegram you would know that it more important for mentions just like it notified me that you mentioned me than for merits.

What I meant was the newbie has to activate it on his telegram so that whenever he is mentioned on a post, he can always get the notification and return to respond or ignore it

Read the thread again and you will get the point.

what this community need to say continuous researching and also ability to be innovative so that other people will learn from you and you also learn from other people, so for you to acclimatize way to whatever that is happening here you have to go from bored to board because I know quite well that if you are reading around or Reading across the boat you will understand whatever thing that you're looking for and also ask questions for things that you are unfamiliar with so that we are objective or be here will it be achieved secondly you have to observe everything that is happening in the forum and also put some of them in practice

In addition to what others have posted here, I think you will do better in understanding and unravelling your little confusion of the forum if you located your local board. As someone who isn't a native speaker of the English language, that will surely help.

You are welcome, most of us at your stage faced the same thing. At the newbie level we don't even know we're to post and comment, we even asked the forum the boards to post and the ones not to post and they told us everything.
To be frank, I think this forum isn't that difficult to navigate compared to other crypto fora I've visited. The major issue here is that there's so much information and topics springing up and screaming in our faces on a daily and we think we're compelled to process all. That's in addition to not knowing the right board to start  topics. The last one was my greatest confusion as a noob. Even till date I still find high ranked users get confused around that too and that's where they ask moderators to move to appropriate boards.

First you are welcome to this wonderful forum and you have done the right thing by asking how to go about this forum they said someone who ask for direction don't use to miss road unless he/she didn't listen well. The reason why most beginners make mistakes in this forum it's because they don't ask question so you have done noble. First I will advice you to be tolerant and then read threads and research and make sure you understand what you are reading in this forum and your research that will help you alot.

...
Before this you posted mostly in your local forum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=275.0). How about you ask more specific questions after studying below linked information.

For a start, thoroughly go through the following posts/threads:
Newbies - Read before posting (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0) --- a lot of topics covered there, try to read and understand them all, the effort will pay out later
Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0) --- read and understand the rules carefully, you don't want to get in trouble by ignoring certain important rules

You can, there's no guarantee, earn merit by adding value with your contributions to the forum. Now this is rather vague, I know. Other readers have to see a value in your contributions or you help other users with some knowledge you share (you need to have knowledge to be able to share and contribute here and there).

I don't want to discourage you but if you're desperate to earn from this forum, then it's not going to be an easy and free ride. I would advise you to start learning about crypto coins and maybe Bitcoin in particular (I'm mostly only interested in Bitcoin alone, simply my personal choice), don't plagiarize, focus on quality of your content and contributions to the forum and merit will come by itself.

Try to learn from other users who have high merit count compared to their overall posts count.

It's also valuable to know how to search information in this forum either by forum search (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=search) or searching via https://ninjastic.space/search (https://ninjastic.space/search) (the latter isn't rate limited to my knowledge which is advantageous for newbies and you can easily ignore certain threads in your search results).

I just created this account not quite long, I've read Most of the posts but I still get confused in some aspect of the forum, I'll be glade if I can get help from anyone from this forum🙏
Many Newbies come to the Bitcointalk forum for the reason that they want to learn all the aspects here to increase their knowledge about Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency in general and the ins and outs of the rules and how to avoid prohibitions. If you want to broaden your horizons on forums, you need to take the time to read some posts that are equipped with links that can direct you to some important topics that you need to learn.

It is not difficult for you to find out all aspects of the forum as long as you have the desire to learn. At first it will feel boring because of limited knowledge, but when you explore the forum further, you will feel at home here, especially when you can put a signature code and Avatar on your profile. There are lots of seniors who welcome your arrival in a friendly manner and help you find important topics easily with links attached in several comments, then the decision is up to you, whether you want to study or not.

Another thing here is to try to make quality posts so you can be known, and also make sure you become regular and frequent here.

You're highly welcome to the forum, if there's any aspect you don't understand in this forum feel free to ask questions as you're guided, is a free place no one is going to intimidate you on bully you for asking questions. we learn by asking questions though most people don't always ask questions even if they don't understand they will just keep quiet and pretend like they know, at the end they won't achieve anything that is why is very good to ask questions if there's any area you don't understand but it should be a relevant question so as to avoid being intimidated.

OP, I welcome you to the forum but I don't know if you will be active again. It's been almost four months since you were last active on the forum and you just posted one. Anyway aside from that, I don't know if you are active at all but I mean if you want to achieve something you must be active regularly. If you have any doubts you can take help of seniors and hope they can solve it. There are many people who are ready to help you so you have to patiently visit the forums regularly and stay active and you will find some learning paths.

First, I welcome you and have joined this forum. For this matter, I think it's not too difficult, it's just that here it is required to read a lot and quickly understand, and If you want to start and want to participate in some campaigns like in Bounties (Altcoins), I think beginner rankings are allowed, for example in social media campaigns, but hopefully all the rules must also be read well on the sidelines of making good and interesting posts so that little by little it will increase your account activity and if there is a decent one Also benefit after you make or in giving opinions later will be very valuable and possible get merit.

One thing is ensure you will not regret join this forum if you put head on what brought here this forum is very simple is only those that are not ready are make it difficult for thereslef. Because many members like you introduce themselves but they can't afford since they think that once they start they will immediately begin earning money and they don't know that everything in this life is gradually process.

my only advice to you mate since i don't anything to share with i can see that so many our fellows members have recommended you with some links take time out of your busy and through them it will help you alot and make your journey very easier, and do instead to ask questions about what you do not understand and always make yourself active in the forum.

You are welcome to the forum, I don’t have anything to say other than to give you advise to not rush things in the forum, and make sure you understand the forum before going to read any post, although understanding a post is very important but make sure you understand forum itself and what are those things you will do to make you understand the forum and also some post in the forum, I want to ask you a question, how did you know about this forum? And who introduce you to this forum? Did you know What this forum means or what it’s all about? Firstly you have to know the reason why you joined the forum. In case you don’t know, this forum is talking about cryptocurrency and if you understand what cryptocurrency is all about the forum will not be difficult for you, most importantly this board ( beginner & help), there are much thread that if you go through it as a newbie you will understand what the forum is all about, try to understand the forum and everything will go well for you.

Welcome!

The first thing you want to do is stake your address at the appropriate thread if someone hasn't mentioned it yet already.

I won't even give you the link to it, because I want you to find it yourself using the forum search engine.

There are two search engines the forum uses, one is bitcointalk.org's and one is a google search engine.

For you, the best thing is the google one since it's not time gated in any way due to your account being so fresh.

Search "Stake your Bitcoin address here".

Then click on the first one that pops up. It should be started by a forum user named @Tomatocage.

And here's the link to it because I'm not so harsh, and was just kidding about making you do it yourself  ;D.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0

Staking your thread there properly will allow you to be taken a little bit more seriously than other users around here. That's a really powerful tool to have at your fingertips if you are good at networking and socializing on the internet. Keep in mind, when I say "properly" I mean it. Do everything down to a T when it comes to characters, spaces, and capitalization of letters. If you don't know what that means, you will find out when you try to stake your thread.

Good luck.

<3

Another abandoned thread by a new user who refuses to interact and engage in his own topic. Despite others, Essential10 points it out:
OP, I welcome you to the forum but I don't know if you will be active again. It's been almost four months since you were last active on the forum and you just posted one. ...

Should such new users be welcomed? Minimum social politeness tells me, yes. I'm not so sure actually, as I don't understand the purpose of opening an introductory thread, but completely refusing to engage any further for whatever reasons. I'm now more in the mood to say: this forum doesn't need such type of newbie users. At least OP didn't write his first and so far only post right after he registered his account. But that doesn't change current sad outcome.

Staking your thread there properly will allow you to be taken a little bit more seriously than other users around here.

You stake an address for which you prove that you own the private key for. What do you mean by "staking your thread"?

The purpose of staking your address is to make it easier to recover your account should it ever get hacked and taken over by someone else. Securing your account here with 2FA is also a thing to consider. It will raise the bar to hack your account considerably.
