Title: Solana Staking - Increased staking reward! From 7% to 11.5% CHANGED TO 9%!?
Post by: BabyBandit on January 26, 2024, 07:24:01 AM
Hey-a! I just logged into my Exodus wallet and checked how rich I am (Joking  ;D) But I saw that they have changed the reward for Solana staking from 7% to 11.5%!! That's is a very big increase and amazing if you're plan is to hold Solana for a long time. Of course must check the reason for this and what path Solana will take this year. But this increase is huge and amazing IMO.  ;D

Now lately Solana has gone up and down but last week it seems to be stable a little bit around $80-$90 and that's good enough for me. I got quite many SOL still left but Sold some when it was around $106 and $94 (i think)
So if you gonna do something do research. But I just wanted to inform about this amazing news.
Have a great weekend all!

Update: Today it changed again to 9.09% - Strange..  ::)

Best regards

this is great news especially for solana lovers, and also those who have a large amount of solana and want to hold onto their solana for a long time after seeing this I think will give it a try.
I hope this news can be reached by Solana fans out there.

I have not been staking Solana but keeping them safe in my wallet for mid term but now that i know about this, i will plan to stake Solana.

By the way, is the staking reward for Solana only increased at the Exodus wallet or the same has been increased across other platforms too if we wish to stake other than the Exodus wallet?

Personally, I don't find it too important, because if the long term is determined, the staking reward is not too much to pay attention to, although I understand that this will also bring advantages in the future, but as I mentioned it is important. In the long run, if you are sure about the possibility of price increase, the staking reward will only account for a small part of the profit you will achieve. But of course good optimization cannot be ignored, but it can be said that with this staking reward change, I will also pay attention to it in the future if I plan to keep SOL.

I am not sure I haven't check out other wallets, but I don't every wallet have this good %. Solflare still have 7.69% APY and Atomic wallet only have 7%.*
7% was the normal before but today I just noticed they changed it to 11% on Exodus and was very surprised and happy. But maybe other wallet will follow this path to, but I wonder the reason for this.

Solana is an excellent project, with each such news I want to take part in staking more and more, if the profit is guaranteed and decent, then this opportunity will attract many people. Projects such as solana delight investors and give them a positive attitude, the main thing is not to miss the next opportunity to get rich.

I think in other places the number of prizes offered is also different depending on their respective policies of course.
I think Exodus does that to find more people staking on its platform, you can do research first before staking, because usually there are regulations that we don't see.

If, I have the correct information for Solana staking you would need at least 10 SOLs to validate the blocks as the daily transaction fee is 1.1 SOL. Solana does not have any minimum requirement for staking that is clear to me but if you do not have a big stash of SOL in your wallet you won't even qualify for staking rewards. This is how the POS protocol works. They infuse liquidity through staking rewards, the more you stake the more your rewards will be. Not everyone can now stake SOL in the current price and I am sure you are not staking it. When the price of SOL was way less than what it is now a bulk purchase could have helped anyone who was looking for staking and earning rewards from it. For now, it is practically useless for anyone who sees the rates increase to 11% when you need a huge investment only to earn that kind of percentage.

So can you tell me how many SOL I have to stake in order to earn at least $10 per day? because that would be the ideal amount I would like to earn if I choose to keep my funds idling in the wallet. if it is possible to earn $10 or $15 daily by staking Solana with a reasonable amount of money. then that worth a try. considering the fact that Solana is very volatile now and it can decrease in any price.
If not then I would simply prefer to utilize my capital in another ways to earn good profit.

It is good to see the percentage increase in sol staking, but the problem is that the price do change. although I don't know of the exchange wallet staking you are talking about, but when I did staking in meta mask I noticed that the percentage drops expecially when there are more stackers. when there are few stalker the APY percentage  becomes high. But if the stackers are higher, the percentage become low. So that is what I observe about the increase in staking percentage.

As you say Solana is very volatile now so it's a risk, how much you need to stake I don't know I suck at math. :)
But my point is if you gonna keep your SOL for years anyway, why not get some extra SOL on the journey?
I have staked Solana for some time and also unstaked and sold and then staked back, just because we do one decision does not mean we need to live with it. We can always change and improve.
And I am sure you will do the right decision, just do your research. You seems smarter then me and more knowledge about this also.

Great weekend friend!

Yeah but that's what every crypto give us, ups and downs. and Exodus is not a Exchange wallet even tho you can swap there.
They have had 7.5% for long time I think and changed today to 11.5% is a quite huge change, but the the thing if you are day trader and so this is useless of course, but if you gonna buy example 10 SOL and just let them be for 1-2-3 years and don't trade them because you got a IRL work i would say it's amazing.

Solana is a good project and for it stakimg APR to be increased from 7% to 11% is a good news and that would make more holders to stake there own holdings. This means that path Solana would be going this season would be high for every holders.
One thing in cryptocurrency is for us to be getting quick information so that we can utilize it and start making profits as fast as possible.
People that has large holdings of Solana would be the ones to benefit huge from this staking.

When I slept this night I thinking some more about this. And the reason why they increase it so much on a already quite good ALT-coin.
Since yesterday Solana reached over $90 again and it's on $92 right now. But I looked it from a bigger perspective why they wanted to do this.  ::)
Could it be for a bad reason or is it just only for a good reasons? Today I saw it has changed again to 9.09%. Strange.

That's not strange if they're changing the APY because that's designed to change over time based on how many people are staking there. The more people stake, the lesser the APY and that's why it changes. It's actually better if you see that the rates decrease because it means that more people are on it. But if you don't like that, you better careful with the ones that are giving high APY's because you already have the idea that the legit ones don't have that much APYs.

The rise in staking reward from 7% to 11.50% is a positive development for investors seeking to earn passive income through staking of Solana. I think the surge in stocks and cryptocurrencies markets is due to overall improvement in economic conditions (inflation and GDP growth) as highlighted in recent economic repots. Solana is also benefiting from this overall positive trend.

In 2022, I did similar staking on Near protocol and I can say that I enjoyed those moments because the staking rewards were automatically being compounded and price was in an UpONLY mode.

Staking on POS chains is some of the benefits that makes me appreciate POS chains than Pow chains because you do get rewards for simply holding on to your tokens, even better, if you don't have to explicitly withdraw the rewards in order to restake. I'm sure a lot of Bitcoin hodlers will appreciate this kind rewards because a lot of them have kept BTC BTC in their wallets for years without moving it.

As for Solana, it seems the staking rewards rate is dynamic - I just checked on stakingRewards[1] site and It was at the highest in December and January. I will for opportunities like this to stake in the future. btw, congratulations OP on staking rewards and price growth of solana.  ;)

Staking yield can be variable due to how many people are staking, Solana's inflation rate, and validator's fee revenue. Solana's price went down a lot after Bitcoin started dumping. That might have caused some people to unstake and move to stablecoins. With the price moving back up, more people will be interested in staking and the yield will go down once again.

I think we can continue this discussion on another topic I made about Solana. Here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5478692.0
So we don''t mix it up.
I lock this and let's continue in the other, now we see Solana rice again. Is it because of this or not?
See ya guys n girls.
