Title: Between new tokens and old tokens, which would you invest into?
Post by: $weetne$$ on January 30, 2024, 04:15:41 PM
The bull market is approaching and after that, the altcoin season will start as it has done in other bullish time for the market. Everyone has to be planning for what they'll buying in preparation for the bull run therefore I have a question for everyone. What altcoins will you be buying in preparation for the altcoin season if you only have limited option to choose between investing in old tokens, projects that were launched before or during last bull market or tokens that were launched between last year, this year and the next year. Let assume you only have $1000 and you can put this money in 1-5 projects but they all have to be either old tokens or new tokens that you'll be buying. Which one will you go for, for those that will think they can choose the two type of projects, that won't be possible. I'm trying to see where the attention of investors go when selecting tokens to invest into for the altcoin season.

It's like asking if it's better to invest in old stocks or new stocks — it'll totally depend on which stock(or token, in this case)!

The only advantage of newer tokens is that there's a good chance that it'll have a not-so-shitty chart; whereas most old tokens will likely have a shitty chart. That doesn't mean old tokens can't pump though — take a look at MakerDAO and the like; they haven't reached ATHs, but the bounce looks really good.

old tokens. the old ones that have been around through good and bad times because you can be assured they will not try to disappear in the bear market.

just thought you should know that there are tokens that launched their blockchain in the bull market but in the bear market they slowly die and then gone. website and social media disappear too. especially the DEFI projects, many of them are gone and only a few good ones survive the bad times.

I always use two methods, so the story is like this, I will spend money from my trouser pocket to collect the top old altcoins and I do this in stages because it has to be with the right strategy, for example entering at the ideal point. then the second way I will do it is to collect new tokens, but not by buying, but by other means such as participating in events they organize or those we already know such as airdrops and bounty campaigns

Given a choice I would not invest in tokens at all. Tokens are like parasites who uses an existing ecosystem. So I would rather invest in that ecosystem instead of investing in a Token.

However if I have to invest in tokens, I would choose an old token which is around for a longer time. Investing in newly created and untested tokens are pretty similar to gambling. Unless you want to gamble your money you should choose old tokens which is still standing against all odds.

Hope that makes sense!

Of course we are all different we have different goals and we have different types of skill sets one could be a beginner and one could be a seasoned trader so i believe it really depends on the level of experience one has

For me, i would go for old projects that seem to have potential to go more if i had $1000 a lot of altcoins do not succeed but when some of them do i would love to have money in it

I think investing in new projects would be good but i’d rather put my money somewhere relatively safer and more reliable

I would invest in old tokens, because this way I can analyze if they have come to stay or if they are just boosted by temporary hype. New tokens are dangerous, because you never know, as they haven't passed through the test of time yet, and most of them are blatant scams or speculative assets which won't keep the price for too long until dumping to minimal price levels forever.

When picking a token to invest, I would check their features and advantages by holding. One old token I like and represents one of the reasons why I go for old tokens is FUN, as it gives extra benefits for holders inside freebitco.in platform. However, these benefits are mainly for BTC holders, so you have to have both currencies in order to make this investment worth. Each case is unique, therefore you have to analyze by yourself if a determined token is going to fit your needs and goals inside crypto market.

For me it's more interesting to go for old tokens, but maybe for a new investor who is starting from zero, it might be interesting to risk on the new ones, since they can present superior percentage price increasements. In every cases, it's not advisable to put a big portion of your budget on tokens or altcoins in general. I wouldn't invest more than 5%-10% of my portfolio on them, what means 90%-95% should be always invested in BTC currency.

I have selected some altcoins like ADA and UTK which I personally feels haven't achieved the value what it deserves and I would like to have some funds invested into these coins and apart from this most of the investment (short terms) would be purely based on how the market trend goes because we cannot really assure or have much hint which coin would pump so I would rather stay active and invest in the coins which starts to pump and it doesn't matter whether new or old as our aim is profit.

I will invest in UTK which has been in the market for a while and despite having really good roadmap they didn't get their moment till date and I will take little risk over there.

old. because I always play in the top 20 cmc, and the majority of the top 20 cmc are old coins. Apart from feeling quite safe, these coins increase quite well during the bullish market, for example a few years ago I bought XLM and the increase was only up to 70%, but that's not bad, if you bring capital of $ 1000 you will already make a profit of $ 700, compared to the new meme coins that are promising - the lure rose 100,000% but in the end the correction reached 99% lol

Without any hesitation, I will invest on a new coin that has all the necessary qualities to succeed.
Old coins are good but they have already made early investors so much profit, and buying them now will yield little of nothing in return.
Besides, why stuck with Old project when there are new promising profit with the potential to go a lots higher are available.

Just as the name implies old token which means they have been around for a long time and may have seen one or two bulls before now, and that should be a clause to hold on to as to why they are a better option to invest on than new tokens that are just entering the market. Some of the new token could be that it was projected particularly for the bullrun that we are all anticipating at and just maybe immediately after the bullrun or in the middle they just dissipate and that could be very bad for an investor there. Old wine they say taste better.

Everyone has a different choice because they have their own analysis between choosing old tokens or new tokens, but keep in mind that new tokens are more risky because it is not certain that it will go up even if you wait for the altcoin season to arrive because now too many tokens are coming you will find it difficult to identify the good ones so that's what I call the risk.

While other people choose old tokens especially with the order being above the market capitalists, they believe the token price can go up someday, so this is actually a complex choice because people will always have different views.

I have never looked seriously at tokens let alone you say for altcoin season readiness, but I will choose investment in bitcoin as one of the safe investments.

I wouldn't necessarily say one way or another.  There are terrible coins or tokens that are old, and that are new.  And vice versa some old and some new coins are decent projects.  I get the ask but you can't really categorize investments based on time around.  Just because something has been around for awhile does not mean they will be successful you can just slowly lose your money.  It happens all the time.

My choice will be on both, particularly when it comes to old tokens. I'll go with those on the top list, and for the new tokens, I'll analyze and go with the better ones that fulfill most of the requirements and have a minimum viable product. In the past, it used to be very simple to launch a project and generate revenue, but now it is really tough, and the uniqueness determines the success of the project. Whatever the scenario, I prefer investing in low-priced tokens to those placed at a higher value.

if I prefer to buy old coins that are already on the exchanger, let alone a large exchanger like binance. indeed, the new coin ico coin micin coin has the potential to rise high and generate a lot of profit. but it can also be a scam coin that disappears without a trace.

I'd stay with the old ones. I've got more good experiences with them and until now I hold a lot of old ones and even though I am also interested in going with the new ones but they are just so many of them and that's why I don't think that it's a good idea to get into a lot of them. Not telling that people should get into it but it's proven that many of them are profitable and that's making people keep on going with them. With this, whatever works for you being an investor, go for it.

maybe if I had 1000$ to invest in altcoins I would go all in on eth I think it's worth it but you asked me to divide it into 5 so I did it
1.ETH
2. SOLANA
3. RNDR
4.BNB
5. ARB
that's the token that I predict will fly during the bullish market in my personal view but keep in mind this is not investment advice, keep doing your own research so you don't experience losses

If tokens that was lunched last has shown a great level of appreciation, I will invest in them and research about the new ones to know the one that I can also on, sometime what's matters in this new project is the originality of the coin, when I said originality I mean the authenticity that keeps the coin devoid of scam, most coin launched are scam, it is very important for a potential investor to ascertain the reliability of a particular coin before investing because if he doesn't do this he might end of wasting his money in such project, so no matter the event we are expecting, we should be careful of scam coin they are much out their.

That is why the product is important. Those with already used product will not easily gone, like if a chain already has some dapp. I also prefer token created by a company, those usually have already good product before entering crypto world

If I could only choose one, like the OP said, I would definitely try to focus on new projects and new trends because there are coins that have not reached the old ATH level in the last bull market. However, investing in new projects is difficult because you have to research their teams, roadmaps and token allocations. Otherwise, you may face bad results. Good luck to everyone...

It depends on which strategy the trader follows. And if he is prone to risk by nature, then he will invest in new coins that will bring either great profits or he will completely lose his money. For those who are more balanced, preference will be given to old coins, which may not bring a big profit, but will be safer to invest.

personally, I would invest in legacy tokens. You explained that the bull run is coming, and I feel that right now I can't make any wrong investment choices. The advantage of investing in new tokens is that the potential profits can be very high. However, I would probably avoid big risks, because targeting high profits definitely has big risks. Because of this, I will choose old tokens, or old coins that have great potential when the bull run occurs.

As every cryptocurrency investor would agree that new projects would be lot more bursty. But I always tend to invest in bigger cap altcoins at the start of bull markets. Ethereum, BNB, Avax, Matic, Arbitrum and OP are ones that I will definitely buy. But when bull markets get very intense and hot, I won't waste more time and gonna try lower caps. I do my own research so, I look at coinmarketcap to find top 50 to top 200-250 altcoins. I also share ideas with my friends to decide.

If you have money to spare and have the intention to get a good profit from the bull market then invest in new tokens. Investing in new tokens is always a high risk so be prepared to lose all your capital in one go. After you have done your research still a new token can shut the shop and the developers can leave if they intend to only scam investors. It has happened in the past and can happen in the future. If you do not want yourself to be in that situation and are okay with small gains then invest in the token ecosystem as they are here to stay. By that I mean the coins that are running an ecosystem in which tokens thrive.

That all depends a lot on your appetite for risk. Certainly, new projects can be a lot risky compared to older ones which can already be tested by time and the forces in the market. With new ones, there is that potential to go 10x or even 100x in some cases but they can also be dead anytime or even turn around and just go 6 feet under the ground (scam). Old ones got proven history on their side and for sure the team behind them are already known to be professional and will not easily break down with different challenges and problems. Personally, I would have a mixed bag of old and new but if you insists that I just choose one category then I go for old ones...but I am limiting my choices to those that I got still got more room for growth.

Investing in new tokens can indeed provide extraordinary profits but the risks are worth it, just like trying your luck with it.  Likewise, with old tokens, it is possible that when bullishness occurs there will be a price increase following the ongoing trend, especially on the types of coins that are already popular and have survived until now.

My advice to you is to distribute your money in many coins and tokens, do not let the belief of old or new ones cloud your judgement. Mind you, no one can say emphatically that the old or new would perform better, it is all about following our instincts, and the project quality and letting luck play its role. You can see this in the last mini-bull run that happened across the market board, some old projects moved well while others didn't, and the same thing goes for the new projects, so we have to be smart and be more diversifying than believing in any coin's age. And for the mini-bull run's hint, the smart investor must have known the coins and tokens that people are appreciating the more.

They are all on your crypto chart, just go and take a glimpse of them to know the ones that performed better in the last mini-bull run that happened in the second half of 2023. If I were you, I would consider some factors in selecting these coins. First, I will make sure that I invest in at least 10 coins/tokens, and I will invest in them depending on the class of crypto asset they are. It could be for the Scalability, AI, Web 3, Game and other sectors. What I will do is find the most popular ones in that category, it could be one or two in that category. I will now relate them to how best they performed in the recent mini-bull run of last year. I think this is good enough for anyone to select 10 coins/tokens that will be spectacular in the next bull run.

I would surely choose old investing in old projects because they are surviving in the market for the long term and investors trust in old projects and old project team works on their ecosystem (only good projects) well on the other hand those projects which are new in the market investors do not trust on them because they can be a shit project well if anyone is thinking investing in a new project so best is to invest very small amount because when the trends end of goin upward the project will play the shit role due to less popularity of weak use cases. Always invest in new projects small amount so you do not have to face big losses.

As you said, most DEFI projects often disappear as if swallowed by the earth, but a really good project out of 1000 is only 1 that still survives in a difficult situation like yesterday.
But it is possible that if the project is lost and resurrected it will become a giant. That's the uniqueness of projects like DEFI but I don't think it's possible to make that happen.

The second way you are very often done for bounty hunters or airdrops like me sometimes do it, it's just that if we are not right to exchange it for money the risks that often occur are 1. Coin results will decrease in value 2. Coin cannot be exchanged and maybe a lot of things happen, but sometimes if we rush to sell / exchange it can be very important or unfortunate things that happen, such as valuable trash coins.

The best way forward is to diversify your investment even if you are heavily in favor of a coin.
I'm more bullish on utility coins. So I have a bigger investment on cheaper utility coins like Sui and Ton. But I also maintain a healthy balance of old ones like fantom, matic, solana and bnb.
Even though I'm not much bullish on bitcoin, I've recently add up some in order to keep stability in my portfolio.
I'm always looking for newer promising coins as I believe these coins are the ones that would yield x10 profit in next couple of years, sometimes adjusting while sometimes jumpin ships.

I think I would prefer the old token.  Of course we know that the old token have gone through difficult times but can still survive.  This indicates that the token is highly supported to continue to survive.  New tokens may be good, but they have big risks.  many of the new tokens that come along lose their image after just a moment after realish. many have lost their developers and news about them is going to somewhere.  The new token also does not have a strong community to continue holding it.  perhaps because community trust is still low.

It does not depends on new or old coins but actually we will prefer coins with string base like that of bitcoin, ethereum, BNB, and matic etc. I think old coins are far better than new one but still there are some new coins which pump very quickly to attain a better position among altcoins.

You will have idea about old coins that they have a good reputation in crypto industry and will not make its holders disappointed. Old and New both are profitable but try to avoid scam project through proper research otherwise both new and old project can become a cause of weather creation for you.

Those tokens which are new and have not provide any profit to its holders yet are risky and those who try to invest in all new coins can take this risk otherwise wise People will not engage themselves in the investment of untested coins.

If you want buy cheap price and received big profits from there then you should buying top altcoins like you get help from cmc top 1-15 number of altcoins list. If you are more interested in new projects then you can participate in ido. At this time most of the good new altcoins are entering the exchange market with ido.

It all depends on the condition and what state I am. Sometimes investing in new project can be profitable than many of the old projects that had been in the market for long before now. Making money should not be stuff. We all should make decisions based on progressive nature of what we want in the market. There are investors that always like putting there funds in projects that had been in the market for a longer time because they are after their own safety mostly when investing for a linger time.

Old stocks are even better for me but not all because many of them are worthless and scams.
But choosing what to invest matters in the project's usable case and market value, not because it is old or new tokens. The most important is that we see it transparency and market development which is our basis when choosing them.

There are tons of them, pretty hard to determine which among of them are good projects, sometimes we need to spend more time searching, if not the best one, at least the good one.

Old tokens will be more promising during the bull runs since they’ve passed through all the market tribulations and still remain strong at the end of the day. With that potential showed by them, the risk of gambling my money into altcoin will be minimal. About new tokens, if there are some I can invest my money into, I will definitely do that also because I am a believer of less risk, less reward while more risk more chances of profit. I will buy some new tokens that looks promising also after doing some research about them, you never can tell which one can give you the required profit you aim for during the bull run.

Which one will you go for, for those that will think they can choose the two type of projects, that won't be possible. I'm trying to see where the attention of investors go when selecting tokens to invest into for the altcoin season.
For me personally I'd go old tokens, the classic old tokens that have been alive for quite long time so you can actually gain something with your investment. But as for the suggestion, there is nothing to stop you to go both or choose one of the other. It just depends on what tokens you are trying to invest, because both tokens have same chance to make you lose money so either of those still needs you to do the research in order to minimize your risk.

personally, I would invest in legacy tokens.
The world is changing, so are we in the market, we just hope to see ourselves on the winning side. We're grownups, 10 years ago, we love doing something and today,  we found ourselves no longer interested in doing it, we just have to mellow down and endure the whole phase because it will pass and go. We're human beings and we have our choices, precise our choices differs in the market. I'm a big fan of the old projects because they always have their way of doing things, making their projects pumps heavily more than expected.

In fact I have both in my portfolio. But if I have to follow the choice between the old coin and the new coin and if I have to make a choice right now. So I will choose old coins that have been listed for at least 1 year. Because for me, those who have been around for a long time have seen where their lowest point is and where their hype can go. we already have the big picture about it. Meanwhile, with new coins, sometimes we don't know how far they can go up and where they can go down. So the risk is said to be much greater than with old coins.

We often consider a token (old or new) worth investing in if we know which exchanges it was listed. Usually, we choose from a reputable exchange and it is a challenging part that most new projects don't get a chance there but end up listing to unknown and not trusted exchanges. A reason why most investors consider old tokens is not only because of their market price but also because they already established support from the community which likely be our assurance for the project to stay long and profitable.

Whether it is old or new, importantly we know how to determine a legit project. Research is still necessary to have at least a secured investment.

For any major crypto, it is obviously an old token because most of their tokens are in circulation and have proven their usefulness in the industry. For low coin, I want to test some new projects with new narratives which can be a potential gem for the long run. Maybe i will pick one 100X gem from the market in the process. Though new project are bit risky to invest because it is possible that they failed to deliver their idea for the project being so complicated.

There is nothing wrong in choosing both old and new tokens for investment depending on the information you have got as a result of your research, as some members has suggested, there are old tokens that have been around for sometime but has still been very down due to the current market situation, as a good investor you can invest in the old token and take the risk in some of the new tokens which can as well give you ×4 or 3 of your investment depending on the total amount you choose to put in.

New tokens because usually when the market becomes bullish the trending projects has higher chance to grow than the one that is existing for over a year but there can be always an exception but here if we look only between either the new or old then it will be new but the project I will invest need to have community support.

To buy something old token you must understand what it will look like. You have to take action according to what you actually do. We thought of a great idea for you. To buy old token you need to follow their previous tokens history. What is the status of their project? Will they come to the market with a good opportunity and do business and leave again or are they working with long-term thinking. Follow their tokens on social media and see how active they are and how they plan to move forward with their next plans. If everything checks out fine then I think old token buy. Before investing in old tokens, you must invest carefully.

You're correct but I'll go for new tokens, new tokens are more trending, they'll be the tokens that Investors will be hyping and the new investors will be researching on to invest. The new tokens can give big profits as they are new and haven't had any bad publicity about them. The new tokens will also be listing on top exchanges due to they'll have money as they're still new and just launched. Some old tokens are good projects and will do well but I'll trust the new tokens to do better.

Old tokens are also good to invest into them but not all the old tokens, some of the old tokens are already dead and they won't give investors good profits. Investing is a personal decision, every individuals should do research and only invest into the tokens that they believe will give them profits as both old tokens or new tokens can give investors big profits. Profits depends on the project and not when they were created.

I prefer old tokens that have proven their worth in the market because at the current market condition and with so many shit coins it's hard for a new token to get the attention of investors, it has to offer something revolutionary and the usability should be of the token reach the majority of the community for investors to look and invest on that new token.

New tokens nowadays are just trending projects they follow what's trending added new features and voila they claim they have something better to offer to the community, old tokens especially if the roadmap is completed always get the trust of investors.

When it comes to investing in cryptocurrencies, whether to opt for new tokens or old tokens is a decision that requires careful consideration and analysis.

Old tokens, particularly those that have weathered previous market cycles, may offer a sense of stability and proven track record. These projects have already established a community, demonstrated utility, and potentially weathered market volatility. However, it's essential to conduct thorough research to ensure that these projects still hold promise for future growth and development.

On the other hand, investing in new tokens can offer exciting opportunities for early adoption and potential high returns. These projects may represent innovative ideas and disruptive technologies, but they also come with higher risks due to their unproven track record and uncertainty surrounding their viability.

Ultimately, the decision between old tokens and new tokens depends on individual risk tolerance, investment goals, and research. With a limited budget of $1000, it's crucial to diversify and allocate funds wisely across projects that align with your investment strategy and vision for the future of the crypto market.

Remember to conduct thorough due diligence, stay informed about market trends, and consider seeking advice from reputable sources before making any investment decisions.

Best of luck with your investments!

If there is a chance to see a bull market later this year then the season of altcoins will be good and many investors will buy only altcoins. Bought a long time ago to prepare for altcoin season but have a desire to buy more in the future. However i think in bull market old altcoins can give you more feedback but new altcoins are best investment if short time profit is coming. Very few new tokens are taking over the crypto market very successfully at this time so you should keep a tight hold on old altcoins to minimize risk.

Avoid investing in older tokens unless they are widely recognized and trusted.

In a new bull run, focus on new altcoins.

New coins often have greater potential for growth compared to older ones that have already reached their peak. Invest in new tokens that you actively monitor and understand the factors that influence their price movements. Invest in projects that you believe will remain valuable in the long run.

I agree with what onecall123 said, old tokens have a possibility that their prices will not increase and are already stagnant. Meanwhile, the new token has the possibility of having several bullish seasons. But you still have to be careful with the risks because new tokens usually have the possibility of rugpull and scam. But currently I see a trend where several new tokens are able to attract the attention of investors because they are able to listed on the exchange and get a fair price.

I really uselessly impressed in new token which is more profitable chance in very short trem. When a new token enters the exchange market, the excitement of investment is high and you can get good profit if you want. A few days ago I bought Soil token and sold it at very cheap price and later for more than 3x profit. So there will be many new tokens that will give you the best profit in a very short period of time.

for now, I tend to invest in old coins, especially popular coins like ethereum, BNB, and others. However, I also sometimes invest in new coins that I feel have great potential. However, this all depends on the opportunities and investment strategies we have. Personally, I don't limit my investment to old coins or new coins, because sometimes the profits obtained from new coins are higher than old coins. So, I invest when I feel it will be profitable.

usually new token has already laid out their road map and will just follow that path, with old coin that are already dying with their trading volume dwindling as the time goes it might pose higher risk of making you lose your money because of delisting, with new coin that are supported and backed by tier 1 investors out there, the only way is to go up.
thats why its heavily advised if at least someone wanna invest in coin that are old, they should observe carefully whether the coin is losing traction, losing community and volumes also whether the coin itself is gonna be delisted because its really important to know since old coin that got delisted are usually done for, not gonna make come back again will succumb into zero.
meanwhile old coin that are good enough, always have innovation and having high trading volume might have chance of rising again like ethereum.

In the case that I invest carefully, I write that Binance seems the most secured to me from the final.  Because you have to trust Binance.

Moreover, you can see many new listings in Buy Nance, and if you can buy as soon as they are listed, you can get a lot of benefits.
I see that the background of the project is good and that the project IC and IEO are very good stocks so I invest and invest in them.
These are my personal rules and personally I do if you like you can do it too.  Don't be disappointed if you do.

I know where you are going with that question, but it is never as simple as you seem to imply, you need to pick good coins, whether those coins were released recently or are coins which have been around for a long time should not be a factor at all.

However if you are simply speculating and you are planning to buy meme coins and other similar coins with no real reason to exist, then it seems a better idea to buy new coins, since it is very rare for old meme coins to skyrocket.

Our main enemy in trading is our psychology and greed, I think preparation is also necessary to look for coins/tokens that have good fundamentals because if we make the wrong choice it will not be easy for us, in the first step our losers will be our friends and that will shape our mentality. In my opinion, it's better to just look for something that has been tested. For example, SOL or something else, maybe the reason is quite simple. In my opinion, SOL is very fast compared to other coins.

They should look the way how community support the coin since they can determine if there's good future for this coin also if they are following to what they have promise to their community like creating something useful or can contribute for their token or coin to grow since for that we can say that there's something good to happen with these projects.

Also it doesn't mean the old coin is more advisable to have since they are common reliable coin and automatically can give profit to them since sometimes there are scenario that price drop so bad and its dev didn't do anything just to create a new hype for their token. Also usually huge profit are in new coins since the pump usually go more higher than we expect but we make sure to invest on the project which ahs been on list as one of the top hot altcoins for this year since this gives us more higher chance to gain some good profits by trying to invest for short time period. But we need to know the risk is so high so we should never do any uncontrolled accumulation then do wrong decision to hold so that we will not encounter any losing and became a bag holder of those tokens.

You are on point, we have our choices and preferences, and the way we follow these coins and tokens varies and matters a lot. As for me, old and new projects are always good, it depends on the particular ones we are talking about. You can see the recently launched $DYM, what a beautiful project. Though I missed out due to my laxity, I didn't just know why I never took it seriously despite seeing the price at about $2.3. It nevertheless moved to over $8 in a few days, which means I would have conveniently earned x3 in less than 3 days.

Going forward, I believe this project will continue to make headway, it is a good project, and despite being new, you can see it moving in multiple of its current value in the next 1.5 years from now. There are many other examples I can cite. Is it PENDLE, INJ and many more? It is all about many other factors and not only about old or new projects alone. But in all, I believe that new projects are performing better than most old projects, we should be smart about this.

If I had to choose one, I would prefer the old altcoin to the new altcoin which doesn't necessarily have potential,
The bull market is getting closer so to prepare for altcoins when the altcoin bullish occurs in the near future I looked at some of the top altcoins on coinmarketcap.
when the halving happens then after that the altcoin season will happen again so I keep ethereum, ADA and Xrp in the wallet.

I always use two methods, so the story is like this, I will spend money from my trouser pocket to collect the top old altcoins and I do this in stages because it has to be with the right strategy, for example entering at the ideal point. then the second way I will do it is to collect new tokens, but not by buying, but by other means such as participating in events they organize or those we already know such as airdrops and bounty campaigns
but I prefer and like the second way.
I think it's more careful, because we're looking for something free.
but the matter of results cannot be doubted.
because it is also free but we need our skills and perseverance.

If you think before investing it is not right to invest, then you can stay away from investing because you need to be mentally strong to invest, if the cryptocerency market is in a bad state after investing, you can worry too much. But what I think.  Among altcoins you can invest in bnb and eth. I think investing in them is very safe.

But if it has to make a choice between old and new projects, then I will go to the old projects for investment security purposes, new projects have higher volatility than old projects, that's why...

New tokens for short term investments and old tokens or major tokens in this industry for long term.  As we all know new tokens especially those which have large token supplies are ones which have volatile market value and tends to fall upon being listed with exchanges but not with certainty, everything will still depend with the hype a coin will be having on its introduction with the market. Likewise with old tokens, not all old tokens are having quite of a good market price movements. So if it is with choosing where to invest, depends still on the project. For sure you won't always be into long term or to shorties alone and with consistency. It will still depend on the situation. Perhaps at this moment wherein Bitcoin is in hype as well as with meme tokens for some reasons. You can always ride the tide if you would want to.

It doesn't matter if a coin is a new cat or an old cat, what matters is unique features they want to give to the crypto community that has never been there before. If what they want to offer is good enough with better funding, many people will move their because what keeps a project for long term is proper funding, even the people that hold the old coins move their just so not to miss the opportunity there. You have to be careful though, not all coins do well sometimes even after proper research on them.

If you have much money to spare, I will say it's better to put in some money in projects that has tested bear market and were able to survive the turbulence despite the hard times, the whales visit these coins when there is bull run and you don't know when they make moves. Anytime you notice they have been pumped, that's the best time to moved out with decent profits, don't get cuagt by the hype.of it making new all time high, often they don't reach 50% of the previous time high.

I think that better to buy old coins because they are check by the time and you know how good they are and how they continue to develop.

If you buy coins to just have them lying around in your wallet, it is much easier and more profitable to buy bitcoin. It will bring more profit. I can still understand if a person buys old coins for trading or staking. It is with new coins that one can earn quickly and a lot. Yes, there is a certain risk, but do not forget that all cryptocurrency is one continuous risk.

If possible, I would diversify old and new projects with that $1000, diversification helps us to maintain the average investment value. But if it has to make a choice between old and new projects, then I will go to the old projects for investment security purposes, new projects have higher volatility than old projects, that's why...
1000 dollars seems an amount that is too small to try to diversify your investments, after all converting your bitcoin or your fiat to those tokens and then send them out of the exchange will cost you money, and the more coins you bought the higher the costs.

Also, the OP seems to want to obtain as much profits as possible, and diversification is an investment technique designed to protect you from risk, which may end up reducing significantly the amount of money you could earn, by not concentrating that amount of money in a small amount of coins.

You can invest old and new coins at equal rate if you want.  If I invest I will invest in old coins, there are a few reasons.  Old coin security is better than new coin (But keep in mind that old and new coins have risks.).  Old coins have more resources to research than new coins.

The size of the money depends on a personal perspective, in fact $1000 is a small amount for diversification, but because the OP gave an assumption of $1000, I also made an example with the same amount. I know what you mean here, but try looking at OP's profile, he's just a Jr. Member, I just don't want to destroy his hopes by investing in new tokens without diversifying, I think that the diversification he does will help him to be protected from higher fluctuations from new tokens with low MC.

Old tokens look like slowly dying projects that are no longer interesting to anyone and will not be able to cause the excitement that was at their start.

Well, there are always pluses and minuses to old and new projects. Until now, there have been many new projects emerging because up to now, there are still quite a lot of projects that provide profits for investors, even though the risks are very large.
However, on the other hand, if you want the long term, then I also prefer old projects or projects that are popular because the development is quite good and has a high level of trust. In fact, it would be better to choose bitcoin, but quite a lot of people don't want to keep everything in one basket.

New and Old tokens, many of them are worthless so we need to be more careful and must do deep research as much as possible. We have to consider these things...
 - use case
 - roadmap
 - transparency
 - team developers

There are a lot of things to look at which is why we don't need to rush but must need to do further research and verifications. However, it never erases the possibility that a project will turn into a scam because many projects have a good start and look very promising but in the end, they are just gone like Tera Luna. This is why it would be best and safe to focus on known projects already rather than trying new ones so we could have at least some profit assurance.

Re: Between new tokens and old tokens, which would you invest into?
Over the years, I've always thought that investing in old tokens is the way for me since I'm more of a conservative investor, and I don't have that much money to lose. For many years, I'm investing into the top tokens because in that way, I feel much safer, and the risk is lower though I know that the rewards are lower as well.

Now, I tried to increase the risk, and invest in new tokens such as Celestia (relatively new) and Dymension (just launched a few weeks ago) because I did research on them, and I believe that the technology behind the project will flourish for the next years to come. Of course, there will be new tokens that will be launching over the months now that many are expecting the bull market to happen, but I don't have that much time to do research as well.

Anyway, the risks of investing in new tokens and old tokens are very different. Older = more established hence, less risky, and vice-versa. At the end of the day, it will all depend if you're willing to make risky moves and invest in new projects. As for me, I'm kind of balancing it. Investing into old tokens, while putting some of my money into new tokens (but it's a low amount).

Title: Re: Between new tokens and old tokens, which would you invest into?

In my opinion, for bigger profits, new tokens can provide unexpected profits, while old tokens can still provide profits, but not as big as if we can find a good new token.
However, it will really depend on our ability to bear losses, usually risk takers will choose new tokens but those who are calmer will choose old tokens even though sometimes the price is already high.
The certainty of profit can be calculated. It's just that when we enter the token market is very determining because If we enter the market incorrectly, it is very possible that we will become long term holders because the price has already fallen.

Title: Re: Between new tokens and old tokens, which would you invest into?

I would choose both since sometimes old tokens have slow movements and it cannot give us satisfying profit just like new tokens which they have more potential to get a x1000 raise.
Although its risky to play on new token market but if we have experienced dealing with trading it for sure we will not place in bad condition just like other unexperienced people. But if people don't trust new tokens maybe they should stick on old ones especially if they are not a trader and just want to hold their tokens for long term since this is what they think convenient to them.

There's a lot of scams on new tokens that's why we need to be more aware and be careful on selecting a project so that we will not pick those obvious shit tokens which don't have any chance to get listed on top tier exchange.

I prefer old ones for exact same reason, old ones already got what they wanted, so we know their situation, new ones are a bit more unknown and while they may go up, they may stay the same or go down as well, I do not like to invest into unknown.

The best way to approach investing (for me at least) is to invest into things you know, and in this case we know more about crypto and we should consider the situation to be all that important, and the best way to go about it. Of course it is going to end up with some trouble if you are not careful, but it would not be all that hard to handle neither, it would be quite possible to make it work. All in all, just invest and hold the big name coins, and you should be doing fine eventually.

Obviously investing is something that must be known in its entirety including its fundamentals otherwise it will lead to the risk of gambling because you invest in projects that do not know their future prospects, it will be difficult to make a profit and you will not understand between good projects and not.

The safest to invest in crypto Bitcoin second Ethereum and so on there are many potential coins.
Actually there are still many reasons why old tokens are displaced by new tokens and new tokens are always not good when in development is not good.

I think in this case it is not a matter of whether it is new or old but where the progress is good because in the end if indeed the new project is better then it must be a very appropriate choice to be in a new project rather than forcing an old project that is unclear in terms of its prospects so that the old or new project is not the initial benchmark for investing.

But when talking about tokens, especially in altcoins, actually regardless of the project, everything is still speculative where courage determines everything because we know for sure that being in a token is just hoping for luck even though no matter how good the whitepaper or roadmap is built, in the end it is the pump and dump scheme that always determines the fate of a project in altcoins, especially for new projects.

Before choosing a token for investment, be it an old token or a new token, we must continue to read the narrative that is currently developing. If it leads to the opposite or does not show newer technological developments than existing ones, I suggest buying old tokens. but if on the contrary, just buy a new token, because the earlier you have the token, the profits will also be bigger and more profitable. still DWYOR

Usually new token or coin have hype moment and easily pump drastically, if you want get short term with trading I think new token or coins is very profitable than old tokens. But have looking before with exchange listing, if any new token have listed on Binance and other top exchange is worth for investing but for short term awhile and not recommended for long term.
Old token usually their movement price slowly and if has more patience for trading there, difficult get old token up drastically such as with new token but we don't scared risk with old token dropping drastically. I am interested and always waiting for new token listing on the top exchange market but if not list on binance seems difficult for drastically pumpping.

It's not about old or new coins/tokens. It's about quality coins/tokens, no matter how old they are. You have old coins like Bitcoin or Ethereum that perform great and old coins that are far below their all time high. In the same way, there are new coins that promise a lot and perform well and new coins that don't really bring anything new to the crypto world and crash quickly. Invest in quality, then the age of the projects doesn't matter.

This is because new altcoins are easier to hype than old altcoins. but if you only rely on hype, it won't be long before the price will drop drastically because what determines the long-term price is the utility of the altcoin itself. and one more thing, even though it has great potential, the prices of new altcoins tend to be more volatile than old altcoins.

Irrespective of the being an old token or new token, we must watch out for scam tokens. I know most investors just ventures into a coin based on the performance of the coin when it comes to having a rapid 10x and 5x returns. Before considering a coin for investment we should ensure to have conducted all the proper research we must, to prove that we are investing into the wrong coin. Just like arjunmujay said, I prefer old coins, because we can be able to easily study the coin based on its price movement and know if it might in any way experience a bull run as expected.

If you like new alt coins after seeing them skyrocket in price, you are wrong. Just as new alt coins in the cryptocurrency market suddenly spike in price, new alt coins suddenly drop in price. Alt coins are preferred by many and they should invest in old alt coins instead of new alt coins.Older altcoins include BNB Ethereum Litecoin.

Yes, when bullrun starts in the market, the old altcoins will react well and the price of those coins will also increase to a high level.

I prefer investing more in old token that has a strong community and have a certain amount of capital in the cryptocurrency market 24hrs trading volume which is normally called liquidity in trading, because in the means of bear market the particular alt-coins did not delisted in the crypto exchange, but few new alt-coins have not strong in foundation in which anything can happen, but is also good to give it a little try, because we keep learning everyday and observing session of cryptocurrency market every time.

The answer to your question depends and in my opinion before choosing any coin you need to check the history first and it's likely some old tokens had a fall due to something that lead to the dump, now in this case I will definitely leave the old token and research for a better new token that has potential with good features. Meanwhile if this old token in question still has a great potential it's best going for the old token because no one can really tell about a newly token even with some observation you still can't predict rightly.
I will choose base on the conditions and the features of the token.

There are thousands of altcoins in the market, new or old. Altcoin prices are cheap so people show high demand here. I have often noticed that new altcoins pump up a lot as soon as they hit the market, and when the demand for the coin increases, the price suddenly goes down. Personally, I am favoring older coins like Ethereum, BNB, Solana over newer coins, hoping that the coins will react well in the coming bull market. New altcoins will show more hype than old altcoins but I think old coins are more reliable for investment.

This depend on the life and potential increase of the coin, if a token has been long that it has been existence without positivity in terms of appreciation in price, there is no way such token will attracted the interest of investors so it doesn't matter how old a token, what matters is the impact of such token in the crypto market, some new project do show positive sign but as time goes on they will start depreciating and losing value, the real thing is that the dominance has already been their so investing in altcoin should just be seen as diversification one should be careful when investing altcoins, but one point that's is clear is that people are attracted to coin that has potentials in them wether it is new or old tokens it doesn't matter.

While this should be at the top of the list when it comes to selecting the right coin in which to invest, the truth is that many investors could care less about this as long as a coin gives them profits.

So if they lose money with one of their investments, they think of that coin as a bad one, even if the project was solid and they were at fault for losing that money, while if they earned a lot of money out of a scam coin, they will still think of it as a good coin.

I believe most of the time, investing in a short term project is one of the major causes of Lossing funds in crypto investment. Though short term project gives lots of profit within a short range but if we calculate the amount of profit we have accumulated in a reputable long term project, you'll see that the long term project are even better and have less risk than short term project. For a newbie who don't know too much about crypto, he could easily buy a long term project while developing his knowledge and crypto skills.

old tokens. the old ones that have been around through good and bad times because you can be assured they will not try to disappear in the bear market.

just thought you should know that there are tokens that launched their blockchain in the bull market but in the bear market they slowly die and then gone. website and social media disappear too. especially the DEFI projects, many of them are gone and only a few good ones survive the bad times.
That is why the product is important. Those with already used product will not easily gone, like if a chain already has some dapp. I also prefer token created by a company, those usually have already good product before entering crypto world

i see what you mean with L1 already having dapps and its ecosystem is already rolling. prices may not go up to mars but yes they will continue to exist because their product proved to be working and there is already community support.

you'd better be sure to know the team is capable of doing its job otherwise it will still be a massive failure when get in early to the token development and then later on becomes a scam.

If I am asked to invest between new tokens and old tokens, I will definitely focus more on old tokens. Even though I am more exposed to older tokens, the top tokens I will always choose to invest in. For example, I will invest in coins like Ethereum Solana BNB, I will not invest outside of that. But if we go ahead with new coins then of course I will go with the top corners and also go with all the new coins that are in the best exchange and have a lot of popularity and have future plans and I will not go with normal new coins.

I'm trying to see where the attention of investors go when selecting tokens to invest into for the altcoin season.
If you want to diversify into 5 coins, then I would prefer 90% to old coins. And only 10% for new coins. And this new coin is not for the long term. only for short terms and of course the project is really clear and legit. However, this would be very risky. The point is that you have to be smart in managing the risk on the 10% new coins, because this is tricky, you might actually lose the money.

If it's for old coins, make sure you have Bitcoin, whatever the percentage, but I personally will still consider BTC as the biggest asset that I should have.

Since you say we can’t make a mixed selection then I’d rather sit with old tokens than new tokens. I think my reason is already known because new tokens are more risky than the old ones, especially now that we’re seeing the creation of even more tokens. There is a saying “The devil you know is better than the devil you don’t.” And with that I think it’s better to stay with what is known than even the ones that present themselves as too good but are unknown.

First of all I haven't invested much in alt coin but I've heard of alt coin but unfortunately I've had more trouble investing in alt coin than bitcoin I've never had as much success in alt coin as I have in  so when I invest myself I always  I have more interest in Bitcoin investment. But I wouldn't say that alt coin is not good to invest. Of course many people have found success investing in alt coins. You can certainly employ alt coins if you want. But I think you can reliably invest in old coins of alt coins than new ones. I think investing in new coins is high risk or likely to be a scam. But older alt coins have some reliability so if you can invest in alt coin investment.

you'd better be sure to know the team is capable of doing its job otherwise it will still be a massive failure when get in early to the token development and then later on becomes a scam.
this is important thing to know, there are many old token that still exists that doesn't gain any significant increase in their price whatsoever, simply because the team themselves
failed to deliver what they promised, or at least failed to stick with the roadmap they are trying to follow, there are so many teams like that and as a result their project tanked.
old token being old doesn't mean they are reliable they could just be an abandoned relic or remnant of the past.
basically created for the sake of riding hypes around previous bullrun, gaining its momentum to reach its all time high and then vanish into thin air later on.
i personally favour newer coin better, because usually the team are more committed even more so if the project is having so many community in the discord it means many other people also believe the project could succeeds.

I will be more comfortable with new tokens where volatility is high which will gives profit in short term. If anybody love to invest in old coins then why not just invest in btc because the rate of growth will be almost same in old coins. We prefer to invest in altcoins due to volatility because we want quick profit. New coins is risky and most of users prefer old coins but I think if we do good research and our buying entry is good. Our big mistake happen in buying price. I tooked all previous entry and my profit rate is 8/10. Old coins are for long term while new coins are for short term profit

In as much as some times it feels good being a part of a token early stage adoption,it is good to focus to on some old token that has proven to have certain potential although many old token has lost there potentials, being decisive about this could be very difficult but I know is going to vary individually, for me I will chose or focus on old token that I  know there performance recent time, thou there is no guarantee but that is my choice than venturing in to new token that I don't.
That is a better approach to staying on the safer side. Some new projects might have great potential when it comes to their future but it's not possible for everyone to evaluate and understand that potential which is the reason why so many investors become victims of newly launched projects that later turn out to be scams and run away with the funds of their investors once they manage to accumulate a good enough sum.
Even though it's true that investments in old projects also don't guarantee profit all the time, it's at least safer because you at least know that the projects and coins have been around for quite some time and they have been performing well or not is all in front of us as we can see their history.

The truth it is that it very risky to invest in tokens, I don't see any difference between old token and the new tokens, they are both very risky for investment.  Some of the tokens we have this days are scam  which I can't take serious or recommend anyone to invest in it. I have always known token as a kind of project that can dissappear and I don't think the new tokens in the market is different from the old tokens of the past.

Everything in the cryptocurrency market is risky not just tokens and when it comes to investments generally not just in cryptocurrency but every thing known as investments you need to take a risk to be able to achieve some certain things in life. I don't see anything bad in trying out some investments in old and new tokens who knows the token that will turn out green for you to smile, you don't need to invest with much capital you can take out some spare money to try out a little old and a little new tokens surely some will turn out well for you.

When it comes to investing in alts majority are for the huge profits, I majorly like to do my own research on matters like this, we know investment carries its risk but its not really the best option just make decisions based on old tokens or new tokens, but any way I'll rather invest in old token that I know have done well before than go for new tokens that i have very little experience or knowledge about.

Why most people takes the risk of getting involved with new Altcoins is because of the huge profits they get usually in a shorter time unlike the old Altcoins which will have to be held for long. Going for old ones means you are trying to secure your money invested and it's brightly a good idea instead of dealing with new ones that you are not sure of but few times it really worth the risk only when is done with money you can bare to loss.

I think that people that invest in these tokens already know that, I don't think that they've got in it and have stayed in token investing not learning that it's really risky to invest in it and we probably underestimate some of them too much that we think a lot of them fall for scams in these endeavor but I do believe in the fact that it will also come with experience, the ability to be able to find the right token or the one that's legitimate, and it's not like these people that invest in tokens don't do their research before buying. If you ask me though, which token to invest into is dependent on the factor of what gets you more value because there's some tokens there that's worth your money be it old token or new token, when it comes to considering buying old token, it's a good idea to look whether they've been able to sustain a certain growth in their token and if you see and believe that they didn't arrive at your expectation then you don't buy that old token but me personally, I think that you've got more chances of hitting it big when you buy new tokens because old ones don't have the hype that they used to have compared to the new ones.

That new tokens volatility you’re running to with $1,000 can make you a lot of money but can equally cost you all of the money. If you invest in older tokens or coins, at least you have reduced risk and the likelihood of losing the money isn’t as high. Also, it mustn’t be Bitcoin. There are older tokens/coins that has better growth rate than Bitcoin.

8/10 is not because you are too careful it’s also luck because these days, you don’t even know what’s worth it and what isn’t. You could invest in a new token only to realize it is a scam or it eventually becomes an abandoned project or one problem or the other.

Investing in altcoins is a bit more risky. Before jumping into any coin it is best to do your research about the coins. If you go to a bad project after greed then you will be a victim of fraud. Coins which have a lot of reliability in the market and give good profit no risk should be invested in those coins. New projects are not easily trusted by anyone their reliability is low.

What altcoins will you be buying in preparation for the altcoin season if you only have limited option to choose between investing in old tokens, projects that were launched before or during last bull market or tokens that were launched between last year, this year and the next year.
OP, I would definitely go for the old altcoin if I were given a thousand dollars to invest now. I will be buying Solana. I'm going all in there. But if it is compulsory, I should diversify my portfolio. Then I'll go for some old Web 3 coins on binance. Ill buy about 1 BNB, 1 SOL and then spread the remaining into WEB3 coins below $1.

The whole crypto market is a high risky asset class. Its like investing in startup companies share which can failed in a few months or years. Bitcoin and major crypto are relatively safer than new projects, but just think if you invest 1000$ in amazon or Tesla in their early stages. That time, the risk was higher, but if the project became successful, the investor got a huge profit from the project. I don't want to put my whole funds in risky project but a portion of it should be.

Haven't got your last lines. If anyone want to opt diversification and wanna have both type of old and new projects, what's your problem? Why this is impossible? Even it is very wise to Choice old and new projects together. Cause some old projects will be good enough that will help you to make profit. But no matter how good new projects are, you'll always worry about them as you still don't have idea what is going to happened. If anything bad is happened, then profit from old altcoins, could recovery your loss right? Although not all old projects will bring you profit btw.

You are absolutely correct, I like the way you rephrase the question. Well I don't know if the owner of this thread is indirectly asking for suggestions or advice but whatever maybe the case I think it doesn't matter whether someone choose to invest in old tokens or new tokens, people invest base on the analysis been carried out, what am saying in essence is that no one is better than the other reason because after your analysis if you see that last your token will do better you will go for it and vice versa.

I do agree with it as well, it's quite the issue that we should probably realize that it is not going to be easy to pick old or new that type of thing. We should consider the fact that we are not going to make a big deal out of it, we should just pick whatever is the best and better one. I believe that we are going to get a lot better.

There are situations we should consider the situation as profitable if we pick the good one, and that means it doesn't matter what it is. New or old is not the only thing people look at, there are many ways to niche any crypto you want, and people could definitely cause a lot of trouble if we keep it changing all the time that would be problem, we can't really consider it constantly put them in categories. Just accept that good are good, and bad are bad.

Choosing between old and new tokens depends on individual preferences, whether an investor is drawn to long or short term investments, because I know that holding older tokens means that the investor is into long term projects, whereas many people who go for new tokens are the ones that wants quick profits on the short term.

If I'm asked to choose between old and new tokens for investment, I'd choose old tokens, because they've proven their reputations in the crypto market, and if they're old and still relevant, that means that they're not shitcoins.

To be honest, I personally don't see whether the token I invest in is old or new, but what I see from the token I want to invest in is how much potential and popularity the token has, because not all old or new tokens have a future. which is bright, therefore we have to be smart and carefully analyze a token that we want to invest in, because then it is very likely that the investment we make will provide a profit,

The bull market is approaching and after that, the altcoin season will start as it has done in other bullish time for the market.      You know, if I look at and read the question you have made OP in this section, with every time here in the crypto industry, it is more aware that investors are paying attention to new cryptocurrencies. Now the question is: do you think why?

Well, my answer is just that, with the new cryptocurrency that comes out today, the team behind the new team behind the teams that oversee the new campaign projects is too motivated by each team's members, so they get business partners to invest in their crypto tokens or coins. Compared to old coins, others have not been consistent in their motivation for their campaign coins before it begins. In short, when they dropped a huge profit, they reduced their aggressiveness to coins that they have campaigned for, unlike the new coins that they think or are thinking of as good innovations for the future.

In my opinion, every investor never looks at old coins or new coins because they only see charts that have the potential to grow and can provide profits. but if I had to choose then I would look at the potential that the old coin has. because in my opinion, when bullish, there are many old coins that find new ATH. and this has often happened during bull markets.

Choosing old tokens are always best in my opinion cause you can have the graph of how those old altcoins had performed during bear and bull market in past. And base on that it will be easy for you to take decision. At least you can be assured that they are not going to disappear tomorrow. Although need to avoid those altcoins what are old but too old. No development, mo partnership, no volume increments! Such altcoins should be keep away from investing list. While new token could give you huge earning opportunity but you don't know that how will they react tomorrow.

In my own opinion I think is good to invest in Old token reason is because this old token has been there for years and by then you must have make intensive research about those old token, and also how there future is going to look like, but for new token is still going to take much of your time to study them before looking out to invest, the best way to go about it is when you're investing in old token and at same time making research about the new token.

We make research for ourselves and become better than we were before. Invest in new tokens and become one of the easiest piece to shoot big running when it comes to profits and losses. There are times to monitor our personal movement in the system because any slight runs will definitely turn us over and we exactly knows what that means. The old and new token is necessary for our meetings. We're here to grab profits but we should also lean on making crucial decisions in the system.

I will invest in old tokens and not the new tokens because the old coins have more  population and gain ground in the community and the ecosystem. People have known the outcome and the income of the old coins but the new coins are still struggling to survive in the ecosystem and I don't know why will happen in the nearest future of the coin so instead of risking my funds in the new coins or tokens, I will use it invest in the old coins that people have already known.
I  will like to buy Ethereum or Solana for the preparation of the Bull Market that coming again, because it has some potential in the future.

This is a weird hypothetical, as that's not really matter in a long run. Yeah, i understand that new tokens can create more hype but keep in mind that you need to be ready exit early, or at least take off your initial investment as soon as possible. Because many of these are rugs, slow rugs, pump and dumps that benefit only few people, they might have paid hype. And many of them would be considered as unregistered securities if they were risen like pepe. Pepe team was smart in marketing and they didn't break any rules that i know of. Most of these teams have no idea what they are doing and what's legal and what's not. So they never be listed in Cexes like binance.

At some point team realizes this as well and just dumps their tokens, as they know it's not going anywhere anyway. So at some point there will be more hype created by something irrelevant and they perform exit pump.

How many X Solana and Ethereum have hit since there launch? I have seen projects that hit 1000x during launch and such projects can be seen in memes. We can make faster profits from buying and holding new projects which is very certain but not the old ones.
Like we know that investors are very eagered to make fast profits within a short range of time which is one of the reasons we keep seeing new projects launching with fast adoptions.

But new altcoins also bring lots of facilities and life changing opportunities. So after managing potential investment and listing those in my portfolio, i go for these altcoins. I am not going to buy all new altcoins but after analysis, i buy some. I know its risky but i invest what i afford to lose. And the plus point is, i already have old good potential altcoins hold i. My wallet to recover losses and take profit

I'd be investing on new tokens and coins rather than old ones. Mostly because I have already built a portfolio where there are many new and old coins and there are no surprises left in old coins. Relatively, new coins brings more profit than the old ones and for utility coins, the old are being replaced by the new ones.
If I had to chose between only new or only old coins than I'd still be choosing new coins, it can be a bit riskier but with good research, the profits are huge. Even if you are wrong with 4 of your choices and correct with one, it do recover your loss. Many old coins are getting obsolete as new coins replaces them.

I completely agree with you on this, having look at an old coin like Bitcoin I think investing in such old coin gives a more sense of reliability because it has stayed long in the market and has proven itself beyond every reasonable dout to be a potential coin to invest on whic seens to be more reliable, tested and trusted. But when you invest in a new project there will be so much emotion that will attached to it because the project seen pretty to be new in the market and at that point there is zero percent guarantee about the potentials of the new project.

Agree older coins have more dependency than newer ones. New coins are not trusted by investors and are prone to scams. When an altcoin session is created the old coins can increase in value in the market along with the increase in the value of Bitcoin. Choose the top coins among the old coins.

In fact, new tokens provide great profit opportunities in the short term, but we need to be very careful in choosing them. Personally, for long term investments, I choose old coins to invest in. However, in the short term, I might tend to choose new coins because sometimes the fluctuations of new coins are really very high. This can give us big profits in the short term, but with greater risks.

For my Altcoin investment strategy in this cycle, I will prioritize investing in new Altcoins. Why do I prioritize new ALtcoins? Because they will have new stories suitable for the current time (for example: AI, Layer 2, LSD fi...). Besides, the number of unlocked tokens is not much, most of them are still in the hands of investment funds, so they will have motivation to push up the price.

As for the old ALtcoins, most of them have been unlocked on the market, and are scattered among holders (possibly those who held them at high prices in the previous cycle). It makes MM's collection of token very difficult, in addition, often old Altcoins no longer have new updates to suit the current situation, so it is difficult to attract new people. With this old Altcoin segment, I only prioritize holding Ethereum, or a few platform coins like Avax, Sol...

New projects Alt and Meme Coins are usually enforced with great momentum with potential maximum valuable increases and of course that's what Investors which is making profits.
But while considering chasing this profits, it's a better stance for Investors to understand the valuability of reputabilities which most new projects might not posses but yeah, you can be sure of the capacity of the old projects in recalling your possessions during the past.
If I've such $1,000 with such investment condition, I'll pick two new projects and 3 old projects with potnetial values.

It is not really about "old vs new" for me but knowing more about something versus not knowing more about something else. Like for example, if a coin was 5 years old, but this is the first time I am ever hearing it, versus a brand new project, then those two are equally same for me and there are not differences between them at all.

However, if we are talking about a project like Litecoin then I know everything about it, every little detail there is about it and that is why I believe that I would be quite good at making decisions regarding that. However, that would only work in that case, so when we are comparing Litecoin versus some new project then yeah I will not be able to make any problems on decision making there at all.

Old token new token they are both risky but there is an adage that says, the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know, preferably old project may seen to have been known quite well than the new projects you are not familiar with, however they both have prons and cons but it is better to involve in an old project you know than the new project with promises you can not be sure of.

I'd say both of them. Old tokens already have their foundation so they are good alternative currencies to keep. As for new tokens, specifically AI token, they are presently my favorite to invest in.

If I've such $1,000 with such investment condition, I'll pick two new projects and 3 old projects with potnetial values.
So in total, you're going to distribute that $1k with 5 projects which are old and new. I've seen people does that strategy that they're diversifying and it's not a bad strategy at all. But what I don't like with that is I'd choose a few or couple of projects where I am heavily investing on it than to diversify and allocate that amount with smaller amounts. I don't think that I'll ever get that much profit on it if that's what I am going to do.
It's best to just choose a few projects and then you'd put like 500$ for each of them and then the rest will be with new funds that you're going to have.
But as they say, to each their own and if this strategy of diversifying with allocated funds for small ones works for you. All you have to do is to check out what's going to work perfectly for you. Because not all strategies that seem to be good to the others are going to work for each of us. It's not always the case because there have been a lot of people that are losing money with this kind of strategy as well. In the end, you have to think wisely wherever you invest your hard earned money.

old tokens. the old ones that have been around through good and bad times because you can be assured they will not try to disappear in the bear market.

just thought you should know that there are tokens that launched their blockchain in the bull market but in the bear market they slowly die and then gone. website and social media disappear too. especially the DEFI projects, many of them are gone and only a few good ones survive the bad times.

Exactly. So it's like you don't hope for what you're not sure of in the future and trash what the projects you're sure of their historical displacements and potentials.
A friend of mine adopted interest in investing in one of the new projects due to the coins hype and right before his eyes he withnessed his the value of his coin draining and before he  could facilitate to sell the remainder, the site got stocked until he lost his funds thereafter the platform shuts down living investors inaccessible to the site.

I myself can not prefer to invest on new projects than the old coins that I've tested their reputabilities.

$1000 is a fantastic value and if I had to invest that amount of money, I would definitely choose the most popular altcoin with the lowest investment risk. Yes, I will choose ETH, it's not a matter of old or new altcoin but because ETH is the most popular altcoin and has the lowest investment risk. For me profit is not the main thing because investment security is the most important thing.

Both old and new coins have advantages and disadvantages but we are familiar with the old one therefore the chances of their scam nature is lower as compared to new coins. We cannot find any project that possesses only profit and loss is not possible because every successful project must have some drawbacks.

No investment is a perfect investment whether it is a physical investment or digital investment so try to smooth over the problems with the help of the power of your knowledge. About old projects you know better and also there is a complete history in front of you so selection will be feasible.

This is quite true, I mean there is a good chance that we would lose everything if we are not careful and that is why we should try to make as much money as we possibly could on the long run. I do believe that we are going to end up with something beneficial in the end and we should definitely consider that as the most important part.

If we think that we are going to make a lot of money from the new tokens then we just need to look at the odds of it, look at the past and see how many coins failed within first six months, and how many failed after 5 years. If you see that and see that the ones who survived for 5 years then ended up staying as good as possible then we are not going to end up with anything that changes things so we should probably consider that to be fine.

Op, Why you think that anyone can't choose buying old and new altcoins together? Even I think that the best deal. But if you restricted choosing both then obviously I want to go with old altcoins! Cause these are already proven and you have option which old altcoin you should Choice base on their process or others analysis. Where new altcoins are uncertain. Many good new altcoin may scam. So that's risk but sometimes new altcoins also gives us better opportunity grab. And that's why it may good to go with these potential new altcoins

OP, I got your statements. If you are talk about 5 altcoins to buy, Many will opt out to buy altcoins from both but you won't want us to that but only to go with one catageoy! Old altcoins vs new altcoins! And I'll definitely choice old established altcoins. Reason is simple, and already told. New altcoins will be scam. Recently two new altcoins that i was joining with, scam. Nobody knows where team gone although they collect millions dollar of capital from their presale. It makes me disappointed today. That's why old projects are best. But sometimes we also need to go with new altcoins for better benefits

My risk tolerance is pretty moderate, so if I had $1000 to invest in 1-5 projects, I'd put 60% into established tokens with a good track record. They might not skyrocket, but they're like a safety net in case other investments go south. The rest I'd split between 1-2 newer tokens, chasing that potential for big gains. Even if they flop, the impact wouldn't be too bad. Besides, who doesn't want to be part of the next big thing, right?

But let's be real, there are no guarantees in crypto. so only use money that you can afford to lose  ;D

that is more even practical way of investing and actually that is what we called diversifying that we need to
segregate our funds in many different currencies so the chances or earning from different variations are there .
Old coins are safer indeed and new coins are at risk , but old coins mostly moving slowly while new coins
are the aggressive one .

remember that this are all your money and you will be more depending in your decisions that others,
advises here are valuable but use your instinct and knowledge before believing.

Indeed, when it comes to investing, luck and failure are always taken into account, but I think smart thinking must be applied. It's a good idea to always invest in several different old coins, so it can potentially generate more hope than new coins. You have to research it and need time to think about all of it. , thus at the level of investment there is always a risk that will be faced.

If there is a choice like this, I will prioritize investing in old tokens that already have high market quality rather than new tokens. I will leave a little money to look at and take a chance on new tokens that have sufficient market movement. At least we can see the difference between new tokens and old tokens which are more profitable so don't just choose new tokens that are just temporary hype.

Well, I have often gone through things like that and I regret having done it and not doing it. So we have to be able to fight our emotions by being grateful for what we have got. perhaps we should use a strategy of selling in stages while we research the direction in which this coins will develop

The point is to do research in sufficient detail on each new token project.
Looking at how the community is and how it is developing, if only a new token is just hype at the beginning, it will only be abandoned in the end.

Many new projects are indeed quite good with strong communities,
such as some Network tokens that are now appearing by rewarding users initially and then being listed on Tier 1 Exchanges.

I also have new tokens and old tokens that I still hold because they are progressing quite well.
But remember, that risks will always occur, and any token will follow the price of Bitcoin, so don't just stick to Altcoins, pay attention to how Bitcoin moves.

but there are also new tokens that can give us big profits, but we have to study first how the project works if it really has potential from the team so there's no harm in us following it, but for old tokens we just have to choose tokens that have potential and there are lots of them. We can invest even though the profits we get are very different from new tokens which can provide big profits in a short time, but this all depends on our individual beliefs.

Exactly minimum but certain profit is far better than maximum profit with fear of becoming a scam so I think if there is no clear identification about the new token then leave it and don't put huge money in it as it will be the same as that of gambling.

Bitcoin, Ethereum and BNB are the top coins which cannot disappear ever but these three are not only worthy coins as numerous other beneficial coins also exist in the crypto market and there is no doubt regarding its worthiness which includes Solana, matic and many more and currently one can also make good profit by investing in meme coins but profit in anything needs your knowledge and adoptions of effective strategies which will lead you to a destination full of success.

The age of a token isn’t the only thing to consider when investing in a token. What is the circulating & max supply? How much money is the token, who are the team. The age of a token is only one factor when coming to a decision whether you should or shouldn’t buy it.

Based on my 7 years of experience, we should invest by observing the market trends. For instance, during the last bull run, meme coins were highly hyped, leading many investors to put their money into them, and many profited. Although I am not a fan of meme coins, we should analyze the market ourselves, especially beyond the top 10 coins. I personally favor investing more money in new coins. However, this doesn't mean just any new coin, but rather those that are trending in the market.

if I was given $1000 then I would choose an altcoin that has survived in the crypto market till date. and there are still many old altcoins that have not experienced a significant increase and I believe old altcoins are more interesting than new altcoins. because the resilience of old altcoins has been tested, even though they have experienced downturns, old altcoins are still able to rise.
