Title: Price of Bitcoin and Ethereum

Bitcoin and Ethereum. Bitcoin is the cryptocurrency king. Bitcoin holds the number one position in cryptocurrencies and Ethereum holds the second position. I read somewhere before that when the price of Bitcoin goes up, so does up the price of Ethereum too. And while checking the market today I noticed that, really the price of Ethereum has risen along with the price of Bitcoin, Bitcoin price today is 52k and Ethereum price today is $2825.65, and Bitcoin has gained 15.9% in the last 7 days and Ethereum has gained 16.6% in the last 7 days. So does the price of Ethereum really go up when the price of Bitcoin goes up? And does Bitcoin's bull market actually coincide with Ethereum's bull market? What is your opinion on this matter? And correct me if I'm wrong.

A fairly common question.  From my perspective, seems they often, though not always, trend together and  bitcoin frequently leads blazing the crypto path as first major coin.  So its big runs tend to lift other cryptos like Ethereum.  And in severe Bitcoin corrections, like 2018, alts like Ethereum can drop even more.

You could, you know, actually look at a chart yourself. It's not brain surgery.

Bitcoin is the lead cryptocurrency, it’s the undisputed best coin on the market. Ethereum usually follows the lead of Bitcoin as the whole cryptocurrency sector does. We are all aware of how Bitcoin rolls around its cyclical halving phase, other coins follow it. There are many metrics you can follow to see when it might be a good idea to move some out of Bitcoin & into altcoins to try & take advantage of price increases. Take a look at live Bitcoin Dominance metrics. Overall Bitcoin pumps, so does everything else. Bitcoin dumps, so does everything else.

Generally, prices of cryptocurrencies rise or fall along with bitcoin. This is because investors usually use bitcoin as their standard. If bitcoin’s price is rising, the more they want to invest but they would rather buy cheaper currencies that may perform just as well as bitcoin hence why they will start looking for other altcoins

However, remember that this does not necessarily always happen it still depends mostly on the coin itself and how the investors react to its market. Usually though it is generally a good time to invest in altcoins when bitcoin is increasing.

Just make sure to check the coins you will be investing in. Not all coins will be performing as good as bitcoin, there’s just a huge chance that they might increase as well.

Sometimes the prices work very contrary to each other, but there are times when the bitcoin price will experience a drop in price and the ethereum price will be doing the opposite. A good example is just after the Bitcoin ETF approval, when the bitcoin price was dropping and the ETH was doing the opposite.

There are some news stories that could only have a small impact on Bitcoin and a larger one on Eth or other altcoins, but most of the time, the Bitcoin pump always brings about a positive change across other currencies that are also paired with it in the open market and not only ETH.

Not always, somethings that are happening are the opposite, sometimes yes.
For now, the market is already different, if Bitcoin pumps, altcoins pump, if Bitcoin dumps, altcoins dump, if Bitcoin stays sideways, altcoins pump.

But now it's totally different, like sometimes Bitcoin pump first then after a few days, altcoins especially Ethereum pumps. Or sometimes even Bitcoin already pumping altcoins or Ethereum still in sideways.

Yes it's always been like that.  Bitcoin runs the market, period.  Amd the reason you are seeing them go up similarly is because a lot of the price action for alts to include ethereum is because it's bought under the alt/btc pairing.  So if bitcoin goes up then inherently if demand and supply stay the same then so will the trading pair.

Indeed, ETH usually always rises when BTC rises, and this happens to almost all Altcoins.  But sometimes even ETH can rise when BTH is down.  So this doesn't always happen but usually, yes.

However, I think it's about trends and market demand.  When there is a lot of positive news about crypto, it will certainly bring in new investors looking for opportunities and this is unstoppable.  And of course they will look for bitcoin to hold it, others will choose ETH as the second.  This is human psychology to follow social impulses.

Maybe another thing is because BTC and ETH are cryptocurrencies that are available on various exchanges, making them as the best conversion coins for later withdrawal.  As we know, BTC and ETH are crypto leaders, of course investors will choose them as the first.

You're not entirely wrong. BTC usually leads the market while other cryptos follow suits. Ethereum is a large cap crypto and is tightly correlated with Ethereum. BTC and ETH go way back - Vitalik was Bitcoin enthusiast before launching Ethereum as an alternative with solutions to someone's of Bitcoin's problems.

But for more context, the recent moves that BTC and Ethereum has pulled involved the following:

  • High Inflows to Bitcoin ETFs: Right now, BlackRock and Fidelity hold around $10B worth on Bitcoin in their ETFs.
  • Ethereum ETFs application was submitted and traders are speculating that it would be approved like Bitcoin because of all the key players involved in the ETF application.

When ETH goes on a full blown rally, Altcoins will follow suit because the market runs like this:

Bitcoin => Ethereum => Altcoins.

*money flows from left to right.

in simple term bitcoin is the trend, it being used widely to determine whether we are in bullish and other coin follow because of trend, sometime other coin rising up on their own, thats totally fine, but in general if we want to see coins in the whole crypto market increasing in unify its definitely depends on bitcoin, because after all, the rate of greed increase.
I always see this pattern that if bitcoin is rising, other coin will also follow, its kinda shows that people just already consider any coin out there should follow the bitcoin trend.
so yes, not to mention the fact that with the growing of market cap, like ethereum that hits billions, the price follows bitcoin even more, but we will see when ETH ETF gets approved, whether ethereum gonna increase on its own.

Bitcoin is like the king of the crypto. If he pumps, other altcoins tend to increase in value as well. When btc declines  its likely that other altcoins drop at the same time.

BtC/Eth=Altcoins

Right if the price of Bitcoin is up then definitely Ethereum price will also increase now the current price of Bitcoin is 52,110$ Trading now they touched at 52,800$ yesterday. Now the Price of Ethereum is 28,850$. I think if this trend continues Bitcoin will touch 55k$ very soon Ethereum will also go up to $ 3,000$ and we will see a great pump in altcoins.

Bitcoin is a large coin which is the mother of all altcoins, in the last few weeks the market has grown again until the price of bitcoin rose from $43,000 to $55,000. We can see that since Bitcoin and cryptocurrency forums are known to many circle, Bitcoin has remained at the top until now no one has replace it.
It is clear that ethereum is an altcoin that is in great demand because it is the top altcoin after bitcoin, so when bullishness occurs, the price of bitcoin rises, almost all altcoins follow the movement of bitcoin.

Bitcoin always comes with a little currency lag because when bitcoin price increases then BNB, ETH increases in price because the market is good then bitcoin fan price increase means your market goes up all coins depend on bitcoin because all coins except bitcoin are stagnant market  The market is bullish on Bitcoin because there is currently a situation where one  The holder or trader depends on when the price of bitcoin will increase and the market will be liquid if you notice that there are many new tokens that have been waiting to increase and.  Currently, with the increase in Bitcoin price, they have started to list their talk and in the market.  Started without unlocking

I have noticed that from November last year till date, Bitcoin seems to be the major currency that have moved the most. ETH, BNB and other top cryptocurrencies rarely moved. From when the present bull run started, Bitcoin has done more than double its price from the dip while many major altcoins have not done more that 50% rise. This makes me wonder when the altcoin season will come and if it will ever come. Those who diversifies their investment to altcoins might be regretting not leaving everything in Bitcoin unless the altcoins season finally arrives.

Let’s break down the statement from FXStreet:

Bitcoin (BTC):
Short-Term Prediction: BTC could extend its gains to $55,000.
This implies that in the near future, Bitcoin might experience a bullish trend, pushing its price upward.
Ethereum (ETH):
Short-Term Prediction: ETH might leap to $3,000.
If ETH bulls (investors who are optimistic about Ethereum) remain cautious and manage their profit expectations, Ethereum’s price could surge to $3,000.

Most of the time — yes, but definitely not 100% of the time. Most coins move up altogether when markets in general are bullish, but they can move by their own if they have their own catalyst or if people are simply just mostly concentrated into buying specific cryptocurrencies.

What you heard is true because many of us already witnessed it a lot of times. It may only seem funny that ETH gains are more than the BTC but that is normal because ETH is smaller than in BTC and the more pump percent are experienced the smaller the coin is. This is why many people tries to invest on them more than the heavier ones but the only downside is their risk is also high, so if you can't handle it then much better to just stick on the heavier coins for a much guaranteed and stable returns.

Apart from BTC as a trigger, ETH and other altcoins can also pump first sometimes, and the event is called as alt season. This is why it's also wise to have an altcoin with us apart from our BTC investment.

Actually the price of Bitcoin hasn't been going up anymore. It is hanging around the $51k to $52k mark whereas Ethereum is pumping. The reason for it's pump is because of Dencun upgrade which would be happening on 13th of March. I am expecting it's price to easily touch $3k before the due date. At the moment this is the only primary reason why the price of Ethereum is going up. If it wasn't that scenario then I would have too agreed with you that Bitcoin dominance drives the cryptocurrency market.

We all know that you said Bitcoin is the king of coins. We have often observed that when the price of Bitcoin increases, the price of various altcoins also increases. You, me and we all know Ethereum is one of the best alt coins. Since Ethereum is an alt coin, when the price of Bitcoin increases in the cryptocurrency market, the price of Ethereum coins also increases, and when the price of Bitcoin decreases, the price of Ethereum coins decreases. Today, according to the market, the price of Bitcoin is $52,012.35 dollar on the other hand, the price of Ethereum coin is $2931.64 dollars, which has increased compared to a few days.

You already answered the questions here, you can see from the chat which you attached to the post that with a significant increase in the price of Bitcoin also determines the same for Ethereum. This should tell that there is  high level of correlation between Bitcoin and Ethereum. So when Bitcoin is experiencing a bull run also expect Ethereum to be part of it.

This has been my notice for a very long time now. And it's not only Ethereum who is traveling with the price of Bitcoin, there are several altcoins out there that does the same. However I like that fact that you acknowledge Bitcoin as the kind of all cryptocurrency because that's its title and position in the crypto network. If Bitcoin experiences any bull eventually Ethereum would follow, I have never seen cases where Ethereum move toward another direction when Bitcoin Is in a bull market. And this is one of the reasons why I don't feel more like investing into altcoin, if the price movement of Bitcoin can be seen in Ethereum and other altcoins then why must I invest in altcoin when the real price influencer is Bitcoin?

As it stands the will not regret hence they still have some hodlings in bitcoin, diversification is jsht like not putting all your investment in one place, in think this idea is not bad, but I will always advocate that people should have the major hodling in bitcoin because of it transparent character, talking about the price of Bitcoin and ETH I don't think that there is any comparison between this too, between will surpass ETH anytime any day, the two coin are not mate both in terms of transaction and publicity, a little shift of price in bitcoin will make ETH to go very high because of interest from the market force, currently, the movement of Bitcoin seems unbelievable though it is expected to happen since it is bullrun in progress.

It is a known fact that the price of ethereum follows the price of bitcoin very closely, however since we are talking about two different projects the way they move is not exactly the same, most of the time bitcoin will move first and will begin to outperform ethereum and most altcoins during its bull run, but after a few months altcoins in general, including ethereum, will begin to catch up with the positive movement of bitcoin, allowing you to make even more money thanks to those altcoins if you decide to take the risk with them.

Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency and Ethereum is the number two, as far as I know these two are the most reputable cryptos in the market, so it's not surprising that Ethereum, will follow the bull or bear seasons of Bitcoin, and when either of the seasons happens, other altcoins tend to follow their trends too. I think that the maths is quite simple, when Bitcoin is headed to bull run, investors will be making massive profits because of it's constant price pump, and they'll want to take advantage of it to also invest in altcoins to generate more profits, also because altcoins can pump and give more profits on the short term. But investors needs to be cautious about the altcoins to buy because it's not all of them that are worth investing money in, this is why I prefer top altcoins like Ethereum.

All other altcoins grow along with the Bitcoin market. There are many coins that go up and down with Bitcoin and Ethereum certainly compares to Bitcoin. When the price of Bitcoin goes up, almost all coins go up in value, not only Ethereum, but all other coins go up. Ethereum is the most popular currency after Bitcoin where people invest most of the time and this currency fluctuates with Bitcoin, and it is definitely likely to go higher in the future.

Yes.
ETH do get next and the altcoins goes next to after Bitcoin or it can be opposite. Bitcoin bull run first and then ETH and alts next or the opposite. But one thing is that, Bitcoin starts all of these bull runs. And that's what people have to remember if you want to get some nice profits for this bull run and still thinking what to buy.

The prices differs but they're the trending main projects in the system. We have both spot and future trading in the space, only focused on the sectors that brings in gigantic profits. We can only enjoy the steady profits of Bitcoin when we have solid entries in futures and not engaging in buying for longterm, though it's consider relevant but I no longer buy that idea, always aiming for excellent outcome. Ethereum follows the footsteps of Bitcoin at close range. I would say, ETH moves with prior movement of BTC chart in the market.

Bitcoin is always the king and going unstoppable where it has reached $51k-$52k at the time I am writing the post with the most largest market cap in the Crypto space. This price is pre-halving and pre-bull run price now you can have an idea of how much it can perform more well in the coming time frame of 2024-2025. These two years are expected to be the best time for crypto investors where all the investors have bullish sentiments of the mentioned time frame. Hopefully, Bitcoin will go $100k at the end of 20204 well it is just a prediction now we have to wait and see what will happen in the coming time frame.

On the other hand, if we talk about the Ethereum it is the second most big market cap cryptocurrency. what do you guys think about how much it can maximum gain in the bull run? One of my near friend was saying it can go to $15k so I am not sure will it go at the mentioned prices or not well what do you guys have thoughts on the Ethereum price in the coming bull run?

That's the traditional way and there's no current altcoin that can take over the place of bitcoins after so many years because it has the decentralized feature which most of those top altcoins don't have and that will be the main key why we always see bitcoin at the top no matter how much the others have prepared for their platforms and countless updates to develop their projects. As for ETH, they have already accepted that they are just second and they don't have any problem with that since the Bitcoin creator is nowhere to be found and all they need to do is keep up their good works and development so that they won't be left behind.

The gateway for most investors is through bitcoin, which is why it rises in price first than altcoins... soon after, investors exchange their bitcoins for other tokens/coins in what is called altcoin season.

Right near the end of the trend, the opposite path is taken with investors exchanging their altcoins for bitcoin and then for dollars

summary: dollars -> bitcoin -> altcoins.... .end of bull run ...... altcoins -> bitcoin - dollars

As they say and incidents like this have become commonplace, Bitcoin and Ethereum are the best coins and also top among other coins.
Both will go hand in hand but Ethereum will not catch up or outperform Bitcoin, even though the graph looks the same but that's all because Bitcoin's position is in an uptrend and Ethereum and other coins will definitely follow in Bitcoin's footsteps. And conversely, if Bitcoin experiences a decline, then other coins will also experience a decline and even deeper.

Yes, I guess bitcoin is unique to break the stages, the movement of bitcoin is the most important for the existence, development, maintenance of the market. Bitcoin has extended its streak, perhaps falling bitcoin dominance will be a good sign for the altcoin season to begin but it will likely be a mix. Bitcoin is now back at 1000 billion in assets and holding bitcoin is very important. Altcoins will run but I guess it will be so when bitcoin is maintained at $70k. At this time, ETH is also quite hyped before the Dencun upgrade but I guess it is still not enough to be a strong catalyst to open the running season altcoins.

Bitcoin is always the best and never compare the altcoins market with Bitcoin. Where bitcoin price was before and where it is now may make your head spin even a few months ago, if you had pocketed for bitcoins you could have made huge profits today. All altcoins including ethereum, follow the price of bitcoin in the market. If bitcoin goes up then altcoins will go up naturally so almost all tokens will pump in the bull market. So when the price of bitcoin increases then the price of other tokens increases

- Yes and No

Yep, I can see that everything that's been happening lately is heavily influenced by bitcoin, which is why bitcoin's position is number 1. Since the approval of the spot bitcoin ETF, new doors are opening to accept more altcoins. I think it's just a matter of time for everything to be approved, and during that process developments will be unpredictable and prices will fluctuate. ETH always receives great attention, perhaps only after bitcoin, so any impact from bitcoin can affect the price of ETH. At this stage, perhaps the attention to ETH is getting bigger as everyone is expecting big events, and we are especially getting closer to a common event for the whole market about BTC halving.

Price of these cryptos are aligned, I guess. And that doesn't mean that they should both have the same market value. They have different token supply, release date, projects running on their chains, and more. If it is parallelism, then these two simply got it, especially if it is price direction. There will be times the market price increase of Bitcoin is higher than with ETH's and vice versa but that's probably due to the volume by that particular time. Also with factors such as price manipulation; there's no consistency with lmist everything when it comes on cryptocurrencies in the first place so I guess things are just normal if that's just the only concern.
Bitcoin is always the best and never compare the altcoins market with Bitcoin. Where bitcoin price was before and where it is now may make your head spin even a few months ago, if you had pocketed for bitcoins you could have made huge profits today. If it is just market price then there are altcoins which had a higher price increase for a shorter period of time making it not the best aspect to determine which one is better as a coin. Bitcoin indeed has a supremacy in this industry but I think the one being discussed here is the correlation between the market price of Bitcoin and ethereum only and not which is  is the best. Due to that supremacy as well, Bitcoin is more of the 'leader' of trends.

Compared to the price of bitcoin ETH is still underperforming. I think this performance gap will be dimming very soon as ETH will go through a major update in its ecosystem, and ETH ETF is also on the horizon. So if bitcoin price stays stable for a few more weeks, we can see ETH outperforming bitcoin in price which will lead to ETH price above 4k in my opinion. This is just a speculative measure, and something else can happen as well, but this is what should happen according to previous cycle.

I have seen several opinions similar to this, I never expected much cause bitcoin has been leading the crypto market and bitcoin is known as the king of cryptocurrency.
I never had time to ask this same question cause I have been observing this with the increase price of bitcoin and the reactions with other altcoins mostly ethereum as you mentioned. The price of bitcoin is currently $51k now and we've not seen an increase yet, even if we're sure the price will pass this amount let's still say $51k.
Now what I'm trying to understand here is will other altcoins still increase even with the current price of bitcoin now, like what most people are saying and getting excited with the current increase price of ethereum.

Today, Ethereum reached $3K, which is an ATH in a couple of months. Comparing to Bitcoin price still Ethereum have to raise more. So still, Ethereum isn't in the bull market. Alt season will start when Bitcoin becomes a stable zone for a couple of weeks. But we can see Bitcoin is still highly volatile at the moment. So over all, it's Bitcoin time, not altcoin. Altcoins are preparing to move if Bitcoin doesn't fall a lot.

Everyone is aware that Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies and it is the thing that generates a value to altcoin, because without Bitcoin being increased in market no altcoin that will continue to experience a positivities in the market so Bitcoin increment also contribute like 80% of altcoin acceleration in cryptocurrency network so what I'm saying in essence is that it is a bitcoin that they give rise to order cryptocurrencies because without Bitcoin to increase ethereum cannot experience and increment in the market likewise other altcoins that we seems that have a potential in the market.

So whenever we are investing in altcoin we should also try to study the chat graph of Bitcoin because if Bitcoin candlesticks is showing negativity being red that means their is every tendency that altcoins will not experience a bullrun, but when bitcoin the movement of the candles sticks is showing green that means that their is every possibility that altcoins especially ethereum will experience positive, in summary we don't need to compare bitcoin blockchain technology to ethereum, because bitcoin give rise to other sub coins.

Ethereum price movements often follow Bitcoin. And this is one of the coins that has consistently been close to Bitcoin's movements for a long time. So there is no doubt that Ethereum is actually that trusted. Yes, currently they have many competitors, in fact, Ethereum's market cap is still nothing that can be beat in the altcoins row. However, if comparing Bitcoin and Ethereum, of course BTC will always dominate and be number 1.

However, if we look at the price increase at any time, especially within a day, sometimes the amount of increase in ETH in a day is higher compared to the percentage of Bitcoin. So ETH is indeed quite strong in certain period

Ethereum is bitcoin's closest competitor in terms of market capitalization - both dominate the market by different percentages, but bitcoin is the most dominant coin. Ethereum has increased by 75.6% in the past year - while bitcoin has increased by 110% in the past year.

Apart from Bitcoin - I tend to believe that Ethereum is a cryptocurrency that has good potential in the long term. It might be good to get some long-term investment portfolio with the aim of diversification - but Ethereum usually takes longer to break the previous ATH, and even then it depends on how the bitcoin price trends in the market.

It seems to me like the incredible run ETH has had over the last several weeks is in anticipation of an Ethereum exchange traded fund being approved in the future. The price now tops over $3,000 in a clear move towards a new all time high for ETH. I suspect both BTC and ETH will be hitting new all time highs within a year.

It is just the way the market works, bitcoin is the king and because of this when the price of bitcoin goes up, unless there is a scam or failed project, everything else goes up and should be the most important part. I know that it is going to be fun and I know that it is going to be entertaining and all to watch them all go up, but we should be careful as well. In this regard, bitcoin and ethereum are great because you end up with something that will benefit everyone.

We should probably consider the fact that ethereum is the king of altcoins, and bitcoin is the king of crypto. When you think like that, you realize that investing heavily into these two could mean a great return for anyone and the risk would be very small as well.

Bitcoin is termed as the king of all crypto coins so if bitcoin goes higher in price then not only Ethereum but all of the other altcoins will go higher because they follow the price movement of bitcoin. You will have experience that when the Bitcoin ETF was approved then more than bitcoin Ethereum show greater achievement in its worth. Every coins is changing its position according to changes occur in bitcoin so there is a clear thing that Ethereum will pump and dump according to the pump and dump of bitcoin so accumulate Ethereum also to take benefit from both of top coins.
