My country people I throwaway salute give all of una for this morning/afternoon/evening depending on when you see this post. This morning I dey listen new for radio I come hear when dem dey do newspaper review, them come read in headline say federal House of representatives don dey make move to discuss say dem wan stop sports betting, them no give full details and reason why this move wan happen because I no know weda diswan follow dey affect our economy wey dey cause hard time. This thing if e happen say dem stop am e go get negative and also positive effects on the street and by extension the whole country population.

So my own na be say how in see this move?? Wetin be the advantage and the disadvantage wey dis move fit get on the society especially the young people them, make we discuss our ideas how una see am.

I think Oloye Akin Alabi is the founder of Nairabet.com, a common betting site in Nigeria which was the first to exist in the country. So the reason he brought that to Twitter as soon as possible to let gamblers know that gambling will not be banned in Nigeria.

Sport betting cannot be stopped in Nigeria, the first reason for this not to be able to happen is that even their own children are engaged in playing sport bets, just as they cannot eradicate gambling in the country, then why the sport bet, the people have the right to use their money for whatever purpose they so desires, since they work hard to earn it, gambling section is not what is that easy to eradicate like that, not even in a developing country that has a lot to cover up with in ensuring a better life for its citizens, this same sport bet is the source of livelihood on many.

I no sure say anybody should stop betting for this country because the moment them stop am na were there problem go start be that, because people go together, plus the stopping and all what people they go through and like joke na so protest go start. and people no go hear and waiting they vex me, how betting take affect them, other issues they ground na betting them get issue with, which kind government we get self, see hunger full everywhere, and their problem na to stop betting make them try am see na, see kidnapping, insecurity them no fit stop am, na betting very annoying set of people. and no be say people they collect money from them to gamble. i know say them no fit stop am for sure, them just they play, waiting them make them try am.

Yea my dear I hear it too this morning news oooh,and wetin me won say be say, this our country dey act childish sometimes, because how sports bet take affect our life and the life of every Nigerian, sports bet no be our problem,who die because of say e loss sports bet na e kill himself no be anyone,i no no why our leaders dey always dey show concern for wetin no get head, wetin no affect them at all , this our leaders na person wey e house dey burn and e dey push 🐁🐀🐁🐀🐁🐁,if person bet sports bet and he or she loses how e take concern government wey make the house of representative say them won stop am,abi na government money the person take play am, and if na because of say the person die because he or she loses money,e no still concern government because every body get as he or she go take die,and make i ask this question,the insecurities wey the take over the country and the blood of innocent citizen wey dey flow on daily basis wetin our house of rep don do about am,everyday kidnapping everywhere,killing everywhere,hardship everywhere,wetin them don do to stop am,na to stop sport betting...

No matter how them wan do am I no sure say them fit cancel for naija, even if E reach the limit where police dey arrest people about it it will never stop, although I know sporty bet is not something that we go too rely own but street don fall in love with it, yes E get negative impact and positive impact, the negative side be say the thing no dey allow money stay long for the youth hand, many young people in this days, some young guy's don't know anything than to play sporty, and that is really affect the society because many people invest on their people again and he will be spending on sporty.

And as for the government about he ban sporty bet, we just dey see the news and even if it is possible nothing go happen because it will really affect many people, some people dey now wey be say na sporty bet be him work as government no give them jobs, although government get right inform people and do what ever they want but for this one I think government should just no take the matter serious if not shege go dey everywhere.

The small knowledge where I get on top this matter, I no think say them fit just remove sport betting for the country but I feel like say them fit try to regulate am to the best of their capacity which cannot stop Nigerians from sport betting. Nigeria no be China abeg, and na only for countries like China such kind of matter fit happen. For other countries, not Nigeria alone, them no fit stop gambling by the government

Make we even reason am say government wan ban people from betting, shey na all the betting sites them fit identify come ban us from logging those sides. As if guys no get VPNs again to tweak their location again and even if them seize the license, boys go look for alternative so nake them just forget about that one use the same energy fight insecurity.

Omo, make them no con scatter the country for people o. No be small abi dem think say this country na north Korea wey  dem fit restrict people from actually doing anything. Omo me I believe say all this na just cruise wey dem dey catch because it's not easy for dem to  actually stop Nigerians from gambling but regulation it by putting some restrictions won't be a bad idea because this gambling sef don really endanger people life and also at the same time bless people that na why it's gambling so the government should actually focus their energy on something else rather than looking for unimportant things when their is hot problems going on with nation.

I also came across this news some days back to see the motion been moved by the house of assembly member. I didn’t see any post claiming that the news was false not until seeing this your post. I even had to reference the news in one of my posts in gambling discussion board. Although the news is coming from a very reliable and legitimate source but I still feel there must be something that happened that must have triggered this news whether it was later a fake or rumoured news. There is no smoke without fire, maybe the motion was raised and was turned down. On a way not to feel victimised, he will quickly discard the news and call it fake.

I came across these news stories around that time last week or a few days ago, but I actually do not know if these are true because I dont know the impact it will get for them if they ban or stop betting in Nigeria. However, sport is making some youths in Nigeria see food to chop on a daily basis, and stopping these will not make any sense because these are not the actual things that the country needs, but the Nigerian government is always looking for things that will cause a hard time for the citizens. If not, I dont see the negative impact sport betting has coursed that will make them stop sport betting.

These moves have no advantage for these countries because of the way the country's economy is moving. Now some youths are using sport betting to support their hustle; furthermore, they cannot stop sport betting in Nigeria. What I want them to understand is that these country is not like other developing countries in that once they keep policy, the citizens will follow, and the reason why we are not doing what they said is because of the hardships we are facing. Just imagine a country where there is no job for the youths coming up with this type of idea when we all know that there is a lack of job that makes people enage them. Selves in sports betting, how did they expect youths to stop it?

They said they were going to make sure that they regulate this betting of a thing in the country to reduce the rate of suicide in the country. You will recall that most youths resolve to suicide after losing substantial amount in gambling. Few months ago we saw someone crying that he has use his school fees to play a bet and lost it. Minors are not getting access into casino house and nothing is being done about it. Minors are opening online betting accounts and nobody is checking it. The house are not banning betting, they are just making sure that there are rules to be followed by gamblers and casino owners. Most times we shouldn't just rely on headlines, let's read the news so we can be well acquainted.

However talking about the people wey dey commit suicide after dem lose deir money for gambling, na mostly Nigerians and no be say dem like to kill demselves but na because of the bad economy wey dem don lose hope on. Oyibo guys dey lose money too but dem no dey commit suicide, dem go just get patient as dem sabi say their economy still fit give dem hope but naija no be like that. So na hard economy be the real reason wey make people dey commit suicide for naija.

I sabi say the news no be authentic one but our law makers dey always chase shadows while substance dey waka freely. Country dey fall and instead wey dem go savage am, dem dey look away and bring irrelevant discussion.

Nigeria never get that capacity to stop sports bet and at some distance, even those so-called lawmakers the gamble and some of them the do spot bet well,  so the matter is no good to get ground for this country as many people take this betting thing as an alternative and escape route from their daily frustration and what have you,  the Koko of the matter says, they go try to regulate the gambling science and this is to eliminate the presence of underage gambling to some extent and even at that sef,  many children go still gamble at the end of the day.

9ja na place where we the get too many policies but no execution and this one if they try to ban sports bets,  people go enter street because na another source of joy for people them won't take away so and citizens go revolt.

But even if this rumor is said to be true, on what ground or reason will the house of rep wants to ban sport betting? Or abi is sport betting the reason why $1 is now #1630? Or is sport betting the reason why there is Boku Haram in the North killing innocent people every blessed day?  Or is sport betting the reason why 1litre of fuel is now 700? Or on what ground exactly will they want to it, which has happened to be the last hope for the common man  and source of income to many families today,  who despite the economic hardship, and lack of job in the countr, have been able to use sport betting to earn a living.

Hence, It is certain that if the House of Rep could successfully ban sport betting, then surely there will be high rate of crime

There are certain things I see that have come to stay in our society and become a way of life in which even the government can't stopped it but can only put some measure to control it, one of them is this bet, gambling,and pool I believe these three  are in the same category. Origin of betting has existed over century, why it seem naija is the one carrying everything for head is the nature of our economy and leadership where the youth lack jobs and engagement.but be it as it may two things is band to happen if an only if they are able to provide a policy that will band the reduce the concentration put upon the betting by our youth
1: it will reduce youth seeking to make it through net 2: it will cause more of unemployment for those that runs it as business including those that bet who have taken the process as their means if survival
 But the negative aspects of it is that it will increase the unrest face by the society such as kidnapping, banditry, arm rubbing and all sort of crime. But one thing I know about our government is they are good to say but can't put to work.

Betting is not the problem of Nigeria, this is what our leaders needs to know.  Their are many important things that is needed to be done that will help the economy. The economy is getting bad every day because of steady increase of inflation,  I think this is the area the  government needs to look into to improve it. They should be able to work in areas that will benefit the citizens and not unnecessary things. Now the economy is not working young people use bet playing to pass outtime,  if it should be banned completely what will they hold on. The government should create job and work on the value of the currency,  this the main thing that is expected from them.

Federal House of Representatives dey yarn about stopping sports betting fit get big impact wey fit dey positive and negative for society, especially young pipo. Sports betting fit dey addictive and e fit cause financial and mental health wahala for individuals and dem families. If dem stop am or regulate am strictly, e fit reduce di number of pipo wey dey suffer from gambling addiction. Young pipo, especially, dey vulnerable to di temptation wey sports betting dey bring. If dem stop am, e fit protect dem from entering into harmful gambling habits.
But, if dem stop sports betting suddenly, e fit cause loss of money wey dey affect both businesses and government pocket. Plenty pipo dey work for dis industry, like bookmakers and other related work. If dem close down dis industry, e fit lead to job loss for dem pipo.

Na true talk the stoping of betting in Nigeria no really affect the economy but he still good make them stop am because betting dey really affect our youth and most of our teen wey dey play am. And gambling get a lot disadvantage so make dem try stop am because people dey wey don lose their lives because of betting

Well many people dey my side wey play gambling even children below 18 self  dey gamble so he go good make dem stop am for the country because gambling no be wetin person fit put hope for, and he get too mush risks

This one na something wey them don talk before about 3-4 years back if I no make mistake, them don say as betting dy spoil the youths especially the young ones say them go comot am from this contri becos under age them don too involved and I begin ask myself hw e wan take dy possible wey them no fit comot corruption from this contri.

Me I go say make them stop this yeye talk about stopping sports betting for naija, after all them no go tell us say them no dy collect their cut from these betting companies wey dy our contri. My dear sports betting goes nowhere. If them stop sports betting piple go still dy do am online dy bet so nothing come out for this matter.

I think it won't work because our government don't have what it takes because the bet has game more ground with technology even when the office or shop are closed people can still bet online. More over some of them two are in one way beneficiary to the betting as business is very hard to stop another man business who are in the same office and party with. Betting never in any way be problem to this nation even when we think outside Bix betting can never be a barrier be is not mandatory but voluntary to any citizens that make it a choice.

What they are suppose the talk about is how they can stop poverty in the country, shun corruption among there self's provide job opportunity among the youths
These should have been there daily discussion not on how to stop sports betting, for me I don't think it will possible to stop it because sports betting is never the problem of this country there are people that this sports betting is putting food on there table some persons are been employed through this sports betting so by stopping it they are increasing the level of poverty and more hardship among there concern citizens.

I don't know why government will just be complicating issues. Some Nigerians live on this, what will happen to them if such is stopped. I will keep saying this, this country will be better if only the government can focus on the necessities leaving behind irrelevant issues.
