Title: I am seeking advice investement in new projects is legit or not ??
Post by: Cryptocircle336995 on February 16, 2024, 10:40:40 AM
Considering the numerous scams associated with cryptocurrencies, I am hesitant to invest in new projects. However, I recently came across Tor Wallet, currently in its Presale on Pinksale at 13:15 UTC. It distinguishes itself by prioritizing privacy and distributing 50% of the Swap fee directly to users. Furthermore, it provides advantages such as a 0.15% earning on transfers within the Tor network for TOR token holders and a 0.1% bonus on cryptocurrency swaps. I am seeking advice on whether or not to invest in this particular project.

Sound shady from my perspective.

The things you should do is make a small security check, one question for your self. Did you already tried to ask, if these project are part of (The Tor Project)? because they're using their name. You should do that, If they answer with you they don't know these apps or crypto things project. You can take conclusion, It's could be a scam for next 1-2 month (they using other people brand).

Not a project by The Tor Project, Inc themselves? No? Then that's easily a scam. It seems to be just a fake Tor token with a memecoin mechanics with the swap fees lol. My first point alone should immediately make you stay away from that "project".

just looking at the domain is enough to doubt it. I think domain xyz is not a suitable domain for large projects. Apart from that, the site is difficult to access. Personally I would not invest in this project. I saw too many flaws, even before I clicked on the site it looked questionable because it used an unpopular domain.

It was not yet proven as a scam project but it is already looked like. Be careful in this project as it can't be trusted based on my perspective. If you still have a plan about this then don't rush, just wait for a few days or weeks for project verification and to see the legitimacy of the project. It was not difficult to judge a project if it was a scam or not, mostly they found out for the site developer and the transparency of the team. But if I were you, I rather choose those projects that already have use cases at least we have assurance, not new projects where we are too uncertain about their future.

More than half of the projects that run their sales on PinkSales are always scams. Let's start with the fact that PinkSales is just another form of ICO. I don't see it as something different or even close to IDO.

There are other names that they could have made use of. Why choose to use the already well-known brand name "TOR" if not to use the brand name to manipulate their investors? What more can that be? A project with shady practices can't offer more than scamming you with your hard-earned funds.

My advice is to do your own personal research and don't make any decisions about investing a penny in it just because you think they will do well or someone you know tells you about the project. If it's possible, I will advise you to stay away from it.

It is not difficult to notice that advertisements for dubious projects are always promoted by newcomers to the forum, who after one post with a question about the project write nothing more, so personally I have no confidence in this project.

It's not a trustworthy project, and you are not a normal forum user either. You have created this account just to promote this project because it's your first post in the forum and no one in the world would think of creating a new thread being a brand new user and ask about a project having a .xyz domain while posting the link to it and also explaining everything about the project in the thread.
People who are reading this thread should know this and be careful. OP is trying to show that he isn't associated with the project and is just asking a general question while the reality seems to differ from that. He is either a part of the project or has been paid to make such promotional posts in public forums to spread the word about the project most likely is going to scam its investors since they couldn't even afford to buy a .com domain for their project.

I am seeing this your post as advertisement for the project; are you sure you are not here to promote this project?

You provided some good hints that will motivate some people to join the project and you also provided the project  official website link, I am thinking you are advertising for them though.

Nevertheless, I am not an expert in analyzing any project, but this one did not look real mate, make your research before deciding.

This is their new way to promote a project, so this could be a part of their advertisement.
Well, to OP you just need to do more research if you are really here to ask if the project is good or not since we all have different strategy to spot if the project is worth it or not. For me, i'll skip this one since my focus now is with the top coins as the market is getting better though some new projects can also have a big chance to join the bull trend, but this one is a no for me.

Looks a scam project for me and not a good one.
If you are trying to advertise this project here, better to introduce a more legit project to attract investors because with this one, others will also realize that this could be a scam project and a shady one. Don't fall for this trap especially expecting them to distribute 50% of the swap fees to the investors because there's no guarantee for this and no guarantee that many will use this platform. If you're a new investors, better to choose on the top 20 today, they are more worth it.

Instead of expecting other users to give you investment advice - do your own research, but it looks like you came to promote it in the forum. You can ask your other communities where you find information about the project - but I found bounty about the project.

🟥[BOUNTY ALADDIN]🟥 Tor Wallet| Reward Pool 50,000 Tor tokens| ESCROWED (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5485310.0)

The average user promoting it is a newbie - so it may not appeal to seniors and other experienced investors. The best thing is - do your own research and consider your own risks.

Op is very likely the same person who created this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5485136.0
because it includes a website with the same name and the two only differ in the title of the thread,
so Op is not asking but is promoting his site by asking about new projects but actually there are no projects
and even if there were the project, can be trusted a project that can't even afford a better domain to show seriousness in its development
xyz and site are some cheap domains, impossible for quality projects can't use domains like that

There are actually a good number of decently reputable crypto platform/projects that use .xyz as it's extremely expensive to purchase a good .com/org from a domain reseller. But yea, the project is indeed shady but for different reasons (like stated on my reply).

1. Pseudonymous team members raising money has always been a red flag, this is not an exception.
2. At the time when coinswaps are more than frown upon and privacy coins are delisted from everywhere, please tell me how does this one has any kind of future?
3. What happens to this token when chrome and firefox decide ban the wallet addon?
4. It's a freaking Pinksale presale.

They are also claiming that they "turned down multiple proposals from venture capitalists (VCs) and investors." This seems like an unnecessary lie.
This would have seem way more legit in 2017 or something like that, when pseudonymous devs scamming people were a normal thing.

Well whatever game the ops is trying to play,  I trust forum members to be smart enough to detect from afar what the condition and nature of the project,  and from the replies of many already they have exposed the project to be a potential scam.

So even if the ops make any attempt to indirectly promote his project here,  he may not gain any attention as doing extra research is what is not hard for forum members.

The .xyz domain is often not trusted by internet users although it is a legit domain. However, from the name itself it does not seem to be associated with Tor which is already a huge red flag in itself. Projects that follow older projects tend to be scams because they are trying to associate positive identity to their scam project. Not only that but huge numbers often indicate that it is indeed not legit.

If a project is promising too good to be true results, most likely it will not even come close to that. This is a method for these projects to attract desperate customers that they are willing to look over some red flags in hopes of getting huge profit. 50% is too much and I do not think any legit functioning project would be able to give this much swap fee let alone directly to their users.

Honestly, I hate your opening words, that you just discovered Tor Wallet.  I see this domain is only 12 days old, how can you find it so quickly.  Say if you are the developer, or the promotion of this project.  So please just be honest.

I see this project has been promoted on bounty threat and I’m one of the supporters.  I'm little disappointed about the domain is .xyz.  This is a cheap and unprofessional look.  Even though the website still has lots of irrelevant links and tools that are not yet registered with Chrome Developer, I hope this can be fixed soon.  I see this project has a good vision.  I will keep monitor this project to see his team's performance.  I haven't decided to invest yet.  I just hope this project can be a success.

One more thing is about the name, TOR.  I'm afraid this will be the next problem.  I see this project as very gray.  But his vision is pretty good.

You need to be careful with new projects.
There are usually many offers and the vision and mission are good.
But we don't know what the plan is, don't let us take the wrong step and be fooled by new projects.

Investing in new projects seems like a scam to me. Be careful if you check the sites associated with crypto before investing but don't get all the news. All users of the forum know that they do not offer any benefits come to the market to scam and when their interests are met the projects are no longer found.

If it's not in the Tor family then it's most probably a scam, the developers of the project should have chosen a different name for it because anybody that's into crypto will want to verify if the project is a part of Tor, I think that's their first flaw. One of the most important things that I've learnt in this forum is to carry out research on anything that's associated with cryptocurrency, because of the many scams and hacks in the space, I never get carried away with the hypes of new projects, because in the end most of them are scams. We'll see how this one goes.
