Bitcoin Forum

Hello everyone,
I created an account on this forum a few days ago. I have been going through a few posts on beginner and help topics in other places like Bitcoin discussion, economics, politics, and the rest of them, which is quite interesting, but there is something I was unable to find. Maybe I was not looking well enough. This is a place where everything about medicine is being discussed, as that’s also an area of interest for me. I will love to share and learn from people who are also in the same field as me. Aside from crypto knowledge, I believe a lot can be learned here in this forum.
 
If there is any such place, I would like someone to point me in that direction.

Are you sure you read the details well before registering on the website? It's a crypto forum and not some health service forum. Please be sure to take note of that. There no fix board for such discussions here because they aren't of some interest. But there's an off topic board where you might discuss what ever non crypto related there. Do well to check it out. There is no medical board on this forum but I noticed serious discussion and politics & society boards are mostly used for it. If it is not about society (like covid 19 pandemic) that are worth to be on politics & society, you can post it on serious discussion board.

This is a bitcoin and crypto forum so most of the discussion is about bitcoin and services related to bitcoin or crypto. If you want to discuss medicine or health, maybe you need to join a forum that discusses this matter. However, if you want to discuss here, you can make a post on the off topic board

However, if you want to get quality discussions from members who have deep knowledge of the world of medicine and health then maybe Bitcointalk is not the right forum for you.

There was a motion for such a board to be created.  I raise a motion to create a board where health issues can be discussed. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5472640.0)But there was a lot of disagreement as to why it should not be created.
 
Aside from here being a crypto-related platform, rooms for other discussion are also available, but when you talk about medical matters for the safety of someone not prescribing drugs and others that might not be as they're supposed to be or be harmful to the next person, such a board can’t be encouraged unless it’s just for general knowledge about medical; if not off-topic, it can also be used for such discussion.

If it's a medical discussion that somehow touches the areas of blockchain or smart contract or anything that might involve technologies associated with cryptocurrencies, then it might fit in other boards. However, if it's strictly a discussion about medicines, illnesses and diseases and their cures, scientific breakthroughs relating to these, and so on, that might just be categorized under Off-topic (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=9.0). But I think it could also be opened under Serious Discussion (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=250.0).

Thank you all for the fast reply, pointing me to the right direction, that here is not a medical forum but a crypto related forum. I also understand the reason why things related to medicals are not discussed, because such topic should be specifically taken to the health practitioners for proper cares.

Well I'm also here to learn more about crypto.

if you really want to talk about medical-related topics, as far as I know, there are forums specifically for that. while you can still try and create medical-related topics here in the forum, the engagement you might get from forum members might be minimal, or you might get engagement from members who love Medical conspiracy theories.

anyway, Welcome to the Forum!

OP could just as well have registered on a construction forum to ask medical questions :P Let's ask about Bitcoin on a nursing forum :P

No, you've got it all wrong, this is bitcoitalk.org purposely created for bitcoin discussions, it help people all over the world to connect together in discussing about bitcoin, but we are having the privilege of having other subsequent boards for discussion of other aspects like economics, politics and society, gambling, and so on, maybe on the local board or politics and society, you can choose to ask your question or demands for any recommendations on related areas outside the forum for medical attentions, but there's no board assigned particularly for this discussion.

@NurseHub, every forum has a board called Off-topic, so if your medical topics really have to be somewhere, I would suggest that they be there. Of course, such topics also appear in Politics & Society, but I suggest you focus on the topics for which this forum exists.


Newbies can't post there, but obviously you haven't read the rules of that board yet :o

You have got some good answers by reputed members of the forum and I believe you understood that this forum isn't a medical forum and topics related to health or medical aren't talked much in this forum.

Some people post off-topic posts in off-topic board but I believe that even in that board people should stick to crypto related discussions.

I suggest you to lock this thread because you already got what you needed. If you know an area of medical which could be helpful for Bitcoin users then you can post that in suitable boards.

For your total medical and health related discussions I suggest you to join a health related forum and contribute on that forum.

Obviously, apart from bitcoin knowledge, other knowledges are shared in this forum such as Sports, gambling, lending, marketplace, politics and lots more. However, all these are just to spice up the forum, the major focus is and has been bitcoin.

Exactly what I wanted to say. I have seen health related topics in the off topic boards. Although, many people think that topics in that board are shits or irrelevant but you can actually gain nice knowledge in off topic board.

Wouldn't it make more sene to register on a health oriented forum (or at least on a geenral type of forum) rather than the one heavily focused on bitcoin and crypto in general? Especially since you find it so interesting that you are looking for basically few days after registering here.

There are other forums for that kind of discussion. If you really want to discuss your medical problems or want to take medical advice from us, you can create a thread at offtopic forum but I don't think many people will care about it. It is because people here are mostly interested in making money and crypto.

You have better chances at reddit probably because they have specialized subreddits for every disease/sickness/situation there is. Better yet, the responses you get will be coming from those people who experienced the similar stuff you have been going through so they won't be bullcrap.

This forum will be heading in a different direction if there is a dedicated medical discussion here that is not Cryptocurrency related, all the topics are somewhat related to Cryptocurrency I don't know if OP is aware of Cryptocurrency,  OP could have mistakenly identified this forum forum of different interest because of the presence of the topics that OP mentioned.

Are you asking if there's a place to discuss medical things on this forum or are you looking for another place online to discuss medical things?

There is no direction to point, here is just a forum for bitcoin discussion, and despite there are many board created here, the main purpose is only for cryptocurrency expecially bitcoin. If anything you find here is not available you can make use of the off topic board to express your self in anything you want to do. just like we have any other business (AOB) as an agender in any organisation.  Of topic is the best place to discuss any issue that can't be addressed in the forum, but looking for the particular board is difficult.

Since the day I started navigating the I have not seen a particular board specifically for medical discussion. but however the off topic board is there for you for any other topics that you could not see the board, once again you are welcome mate.
