Welcome to the forum, the merits can be earned when you make good posts and others find those posts helpful. Let's say if a member has 4 sMerits and he/she likes one of your posts then he/she can send you from 1 merit to 4 merits. If that person sends you 2 merits then you will earn 1 sMerit which you can send to someone whose post you like.

I hope now its clear to you that how those profiles have got those merits. In order to get merits you should try to make good and valuable posts and be active on the forum. Some people get good number of merits from their local boards, if you speak a language and there's a local board of that language then try to make some posts in your language on that local board on daily basis to earn some merits for your contribution in that local board.

I believe if you follow those steps then you will start getting some merits.

Hey buddy, I believe you have gotten answers to your questions (curiosity) jokingly asking for merits will only ruin your reputation as I have seen that you made the same comment in your previous post, as @SamReomo have said, you can only receive merit if your posts are good and useful to users in the forum. I suggest you read the forum rules carefully and understand things better before you think of merits. Good luck.

Don't ask others for merits that's not the way for it, just be a good member and make good posts. If you continue asking for merits then trust me you'll never get any merits.

There are some good members and merit sources you may help you with merits after reviewing your posts, but there's no one who would send you any merits as a welcome bonus.

I hope you won't beg for merits after reading this post and I also believe if you really want to be among those top merit earners then you'll start making good posts. Best of luck!

If its about the merits and activities you're seeing that interest you, you can learn about that from here, everything you need to know about forum rank, activities and merits. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0 but that aside, you will have to learn about the way the forum operates by learning the rules and regulations here as well, Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0 when you make learning your priority, then you could developed yourself the same way these members you're seeing did and improve in learning, this will help you in making a quality contribution that will evident the way you're growing over time, but for now, do much of learning than posting.

Those profile with lots of "merits" are impressive isn't it but let me tell you not to pressure yourself to keep up with the relentless pace. Your growth on the forum is one where that is best travelled at your own stride. Being here means that you should do your best to engage at a pace that will in turn allow you to absorb and reflect on the knowledge shared by others. This will enable you to contribute authentically to the community, participating in the discourse with your unique voice and insights just like it is with those impressive profiles.

To your defense, you might be making a (bad) joke. If I remember correctly it's actually against forum rules to beg for merit. So better don't repeat and do this in other fashion. Begging for merit could at best get your posts ignored or deleted or worse...

Don't pressure yourself about merits. If you're able to make good contributions to discussions then merits will flow in on their own. Learn from those posts which got (quite some) merits, try to understand what makes those posts merit-worthy.

Don't focus and be obsessed with merits, that will only make your being here unpleasant and frustrating.

When you post or are about to make a post: halt for a moment and ask yourself, what constructive pieces can I contribute to the discussion? Do I know something on-topic that's valuable to the thread? Read and engage, don't shitpost.

Op it is very simple for you since you say d you have the knowledge of cryptocurrency so probably you are not here to learn but to educate others and what you are looking for will come to you without stress. But your posting history does not look like someone who have the knowledge of bitcoin but that is not withstanding you can also make it if you determine to have them all what you need is good contribution and knowledge educate others. But remember you have to work hard to receive those merits.

You are welcome to the forum. People you see with a bunch of merits work for it, and you can also achieve that one day if you work hard in the forum. However, the only way to get to that level is by creating meaningful posts that will help other forum members, both newbies and high-ranking members. If you do that, your post will be worth meriting, and the community members will give you merit. So don’t beg for merits that are against the forum rules just for us, and learn the basics before you start doing anything. Make sure you know the rules and regulations so you will get to where you are going in time. Good luck while you operate in the forum.

OP hasn’t really posted much before this topic so I can’t say he even has a post history yet. From his recent posts in altcoins discussion, I can say OP is not new to altcoins at all but he may not be as familiar with Bitcoin. OP, this is a Bitcoin forum, not many are impressed with altcoins discussions, so you may not receive a lot merits if you keep posting in only that section of the forum.

You can call that somehow a gift from being resourceful/talented/bright/witty. Some newbie here even you could do that actually as long as you put your maximum effort on building your writing skills/technical knowledge on bitcoin and crypto related. Yes its not easy to get or acquire merits but if people will notice you on how you interact maybe someday that would be so easy for you.

The advice touched me most as I felt the impact of what I means for not getting information if the forum early but believe that any time one wake become it's morning if only he can work as he wake.
I see that working hard and applying smartness, and consistency help I as we help to achieve a goal .

Op I was like you without a Merritt when saw transparency in the forum I believe I will succeed with time. As senior colleagues said take your time and be devoted that is the only way out given you self to study all about the forum all pin post, article and link that will carterput you speedily.

Joining this forum is more like a long-distance race than a sprint, so the OP should take it easy and enjoy his  stay here instead of looking for merits fast. Let's not forget that people doesn't rank up just because of the number of merits, but also activity, which is linked to posting and time.

Therefore, if you want to succeed you must be active, patient, and strive for good quality and meaningful contributions to the knowledge we share here.

First of all you need to know about the rules of this forum and post though I am new too. I am trying to learn, there are many things to know. Seniors should follow, new topics should be written. Above all, you have to give time, otherwise you will not get the evaluation of this forum.

You're absolutely right as a newbie the most important thing you should know is the terms/conditions how to abide with them, because if you go contrary to this rules that is governing this forum, probably you will be wiped out from the forum either. that is why is considered as the most important thing one should know before looking out to any other things, however been curious to get merited sometimes makes some newbies to go contrary to the rules, although I have been here for some months we are all newbie, but I'm not been curious I'm just taken one step at a time working very hard so I can achieve my goals.

You are welcome to the great forum. A home of wisdom and understanding where knowledge+guidance put together built up great people. Everyone here was once a newbie but as time goes on they see themselves growing gradually. Here is just like nature and human growth, where growth is not noticeable by the person in question but others notice your growth. But If you want to grow, don't only grow in size but grow In wisdom because wisdom quantifies your personality.

For the merit as time goes on you will begin to receive merits. Merit is the product of how reasonable and productive you are.  You must try as much as possible to strive and discover your innermost potential to get merit. No body is ready to give out merit to anybody if you don't write and attractive post that will be of help. The merit is not only allocated to some set of people anybody can merit you if they have smerit to give to you. Likewise you, you can also be in position to give another person when you have smerit.

Welcome to the forum mate , the forum is quite an accommadative place ,where you can grow in wisdom and harness your reading and writing potentials.  The forum is like an institution of learning where everything is taking gradually , from one step to another, and from one rank to another.

first,  i will advice you  to cultivate the habit of reading at this earlier stage than writing, 'CURIOSITY' as seen in your topic will not be the best way to grow faster in the forum, rather loyalty , consistency and constant efforts will make you strong in the forum .

In addition, concerning how to get merit, just like you said, merit is not a gift rather it is the reward you get for making a  sensitive, educating and quality post.  Always feel very free to ask questions when necessary beacuse all the answers will be provided for you in a giffy by the high ranked members.

Lastly, for you to make a quality and constructive post, you will have to first of all identify your field of study, where you interest centers and start from there, you are also expected to go through the forum rules and regulations so that you will not go about and post threads in the boards that you are not supposed to post. Always try and engage i discussions that you are familiar with and not in every discussion, try as much as possible not to spam for there appropriate sanctions for that. once again welcome to  the best bitcoin forum .

Welcome to the forum, and I'm happy that you have crypto knowledge before joining, so you have an edge over some newbies that joined without any crypto knowledge, I believe that with your experience you might rank up with making quality posts than other newbies. I'd advise you to learn the forum rules and focus on quality posts, because if merit is your first priority in this forum, then you might be discouraged to continue, because no member is under obligation to merit you, so it might not be pouring in as you expected, learn to give it time, and eventually it'll start to come. Merit begging is frowned at in this forum so keep posting quality stuff and members will reward you with merits, same you will reward other members too.

You shouldn't be curious to earn merits but curious about how to attain obtainable knowledges while you're in this forum. You should understand that this is a bitcoin forum specifically for bicoins discussion while every other sections is an attachment to while this platform is created.
You can explore in your bitcoin journey with the knowledges acquired from here and yet you don't care about gaining merits.
But if you must get merits, it's based on how soluable your Opinions could render to the forum or to an individual who finds your contributions to the forum valuable to themselves and then if they're reachable to sendable merits to appreciate your efforts then they'd do well merit that of your post as an appreciation and motivations to your utterance. The merits also serves as feathers to climb to other ranks coupling with the number of your activities so you'd have to keep up contributing earnestly and productively to the forum at whichever board you can be better of the forum's discussion and so do your activities counts and with the more your post count attract merits so also you could rank up.
Best of luck to ontou curious to you a curious newbie.

Welcome to the Bitcoin Forum. If you give something good in the forum, your heart's desire will be fulfilled. All the people here who have created beautiful profiles with many qualities have grown up from a very young age. No one can grow up all at once, everyone has to grow up gradually. Spend more time in the forum you will learn more and give something good to this forum whenever you give something good to this forum and others will get good from you you can build nice profile. But I want to give you another advice don't try to cheat in this forum if you try to cheat you will be destroyed very fast.

Some profiles are quite beautiful if you think merits is the beauty of a profile. Some merits are gifted (air dropped), some are earned. But I am afraid that your interest is in merits. It doesn't always end well for people so interested in merits in first coming.

Having knowledge about crypto is one of the vital part of this forum, and since you already have some knowledge about crypto, interacting with others won't be a problem for you. The main reason you see all those merits in the profile of those users including me, is because of the informative and helpful posts they have made so far in respect to how long they have been here in this forum. Merits are like reward to users who make useful boost here, and with those merits, you stand a better chance of participate in some interesting activities.

OP, this is a Bitcoin forum, not many are impressed with altcoins discussions, so you may not receive a lot merits if you keep posting in only that section of the forum.
We can say, not many (high ranked users) are impressed with altcoin discussions... As for if there are members who are, there are a great number of them that post there. Altcoin Discussion has become spam centre and there's need to sanitize that part of the forum. It's like what happens in the gambling section.

Again, OP needs to be more active here and make constructive posts if they want to be noticed and their posts merited. Also, they should stop begging for merit. It's against the forum rule.

Nope, merits are something that are earned through hard work and patience. If you want to earn some merits, then you must at least share something that is beneficial to this forum that may garner you some merits in the process.

As a newbie, merits should be the LEAST thing that you should think about. You can make it as your goal but your first priority should always be arming yourself with all the necessary information about the fundamentals of cryptocurrencies. One cannot share something that they do not own or know- teach yourself first and maximize all the tools available on the internet so you could at least have some foundation about cryptos.

Op needs understand that there are many profiles that look interesting to have looking at the numbers of merits and reputation the profile really have. That could look perfect but it is never easy to have such kind of profile. All that takes hard work and frequent searching for one to have such kind of acount in the forum. Good things are good in the eyes but to embrace such a lifestyle and have such reputations would take extra hard work to emulate. Keep growing and with time you can achieve that soon..

For every good looking account and profile you see, there is a success story attached to it. Everyone can attain that height but you have to prove your worth first by working hard in the forum. Welcome to the forum newbie, if you want merits and promotions, read a lot because this will enable you make quality posts. You cannot obviously give what you don't have. Make quality posts consistently and do not focus so much on getting merits,  for now you should be interested in learning more than seeking to get quick merits and ofcourse quick promotions. Just trust the process,  be patient and maintain the same level of consistency, you will definitely get to the top. Welcome once again to the Bitcointalk forum.

If you want to make your account like those accounts then follow them more so you can learn. In fact, the profiles you have seen in this forum have achieved it through hard work and talent, if you work hard and talent like them, you too can achieve it.

You are welcome to bitcointalk. All you need to know is that you did not only need the crypto knowledge but also the forum knowledge. When I said forum knowledge, I was referring to many things, like the rules and regulations, the process to follow to earn merit, advantages, and a lot more, so don’t be carried away by the merit and focus on knowing more about the forum. Although you said you already have some knowledge of crypto, I want you to know that knowledge is never enough, so you have to learn more.

From your thread, I saw that most of the links that you need to use and know most about merit and other things, as far as the forum is concerned, have already been given to you. So all I have for you is to tell you that you should be less curious and, most importantly, conduct your personal research. It will go a long way in helping you achieve your goal.

Welcome to the forum, firstly you better read the forum rules so you don't end up getting a negative trust or a ban on your account for violating forum rules, earning merit is an experience that you would surely get as long as you make quality contribution to the forum and continue to improve yourself, you can check the psot that has been earning merit thay all have one thing in common they were not merited by the Same person which means anyone can give you merit here as long as he finds your post merit worth and they is no fixed way of weighing a post as merit worthy it all depends on the reader, do good luck .

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie with crypto knowledge though. I'm here to network. I see some beautiful profiles with lots of merits and I'm interested in being like that someday. How can that be achieved? Is it like a gift or something.. pls help 😎
Welcome to the BitcoinTalk forum. First you should read all the forum rules carefully. Many people have given you good advice, try to follow that advice. You spend time on this forum and try to read a lot. The more you read, the more knowledge you gain. The people whose accounts you see a lot of merit have spent a lot of time on this forum, which has earned them a lot of merit. Be patient and spend time on this forum.

It takes patience and hard work to be like them, one thing you must not forget, those who have a lot of merit have gone through various obstacles before reaching the level they are at today. It is highly recommended to only give merit to high quality posts, you will get merit when other members send them to your posts. Although the merit system is not directly moderated by the forum, it is highly recommended to appreciate other members posts objectively, not giving merit to posts you like.
If you are still curious about how the merit system works on forums, you can visit this topic Merit & new rank requirements (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.msg28856522#msg28856522).

I just imagine why my co newbies are so interested in earning merit even when they have not made any good contributions to the forum that will probably lead to earning merit, you see a newbie after making few posts, they start being curious of merit. We all know that merit and activity increases one's ranks accordingly in the forum but wouldn't you agree with me that it will be bad if one gets to a rank that your knowledge in the forum is not equal with?
I am always consistently in reading forum rules and following up accordingly but it marvels me how most newbies are just so desperate of getting merits without any much quality contribution to the forum.

I think you need to read this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0 it will help you alot.

Thank you. Understood...Would you be kind to give me some merit as a welcome bonus? Ahaha. Appreciate it 😆
From your first post that started this discussion you claim to know a bit about cryptocurrency and that's an advantage for you unlike some newbies among us that don't have any first hand knowledge about cryptocurrency but are just starting off from the forum. I'll say you take that advantage you have to create good quality post as told by the user SamReomo you will be be worthy of receiving merits from not just him but from other members fascinated by the quality of your posts. With time we will get up the ranks too.

Merit is somewhat like a gift and to receive this gift you must be worthy of it. someone can give you merit when you make a helpful post and when you create a topic that is very important to this forum or forum users.  And there are many merit sources who can give you big amount of merit too depending on your post or topic. 50% Smerit will be generated from all the merits you received and you can give them to others. 1 Smerit is generated for every 2 Merits. so how many merits you can earn depends on how much knowledge you have or how smart you are  8)

Merits are received from other forum members although there is a criteria for each forum member before they will send a merit. Many forum members that are merited is that they post good/high quality posts or constructive posts. If you do all that then you'll get your merits to that ssme amount on the forum member's profile that you have seen here in the forum. Everyone can do it as long as they did what is needed in order to receive merit. I started from 0 merit until I reached 600+.

First of all, welcome to this forum. Use this forum as best as possible because this forum will give you many benefits ranging from knowledge, insight and income.

Seeing several beautiful profiles is sometimes necessary, because this is useful for motivating you to continue learning and studying so that you can contribute to this forum so that Merit will come by itself which will make you become like what you see in those beautiful profiles.

But what you need to remember, every time you want to become bigger requires a process and hard work. Of course you have to go through all of this and don't give up easily. Moreover, if you already have basic knowledge about crypto, this will make it easier for you to contribute to this forum. Continue to study the forum rules and continue to dig up information about crypto or anything related to crypto so that when you make posts, they are often constructive so that later Merit will enter your account. Lastly, don't push your goals too hard, just take it slow so that it flows naturally.

I think not everyone can be able to achieve that much, even if they do, it would take them a very long time. The main reason for this is that most newbies are too focused on earning merits instead of trying to learn and improve because they don't understand that they will start earning merits if they improve themselves and the ways they write posts or generally behave in the forum.
So the first thing newbies need to learn is that they aren't supposed to chase the ranks in this forum but they need to learn more about cryptocurrencies and this forum so that they can engage in different discussions and eventually start gaining ranks.

You can have a beautiful profile someday with lots of merits if you believe in yourself to be ready to learn and contribute meaningfully to the questions and answers being posted in the forum.

None of us started well by having a beautiful profile as a newbie within a day or week. It all started gradually and it took time for us to have a profile with lots of merits. However if Mr. A can have a beautiful profile, Mr. B as well can do it. It is just a matter of time, and also for the person to be open-minded in accepting and abiding by the rules of the forum without going contrary to them someday because going contrary to them would attract a ban on the person profile that wants to have a beautiful profile with lots of merits.

The gift is that we have all been fortunate enough to join the forum at one time or another. I regret that I did not find out about this earlier; however, being on the forum and reading the information, I realized that every day you can grow up with information and take gifts if you understand what I’m talking about.
Friendly advice: you came to the forum; learn to read without forcing yourself; take your time; let the forum become a useful habit for you. After a while, you will realize that your stay here will become very festive for you too.

But those that know the value of be part of this forum, will never joke with the opportunity because they know that there are a lot of things to achieve from the forum that will increase you financially, materially and physically which you can feel such thing from the top members in the forum. I started improving in quality post through the Post I was reading all the time from the forum that gave me the gift to know what to comment after reading the thread, and it has increased me to full member despite the long years it takes me to achieve that position. No just be reading other books because they will not add impact to you, but try your best to look for books that related to cryptocurrency and Bitcoin and you will definitely see some changes that will open your eye to know that you are in the right place to achieve your purpose.

You equally need to be careful not to copy and paste opinions for merit because i tried doing that and i reported.

Am a newbie here I will like to ask if someone can earn  or been merited with out sMerit been shared to you can it be earned by a good post, really want to know..

Consider receiving merit for your good or otherwise valuable post as a token of appreciation by those who have sMerit to give. I give merit if I can when I find a post adds some good contribution to a thread and/or the author put quite some effort to add good details, been constructive and so on. I have no hard rules, but as I usually don't have much sMerits left to distribute, I have to make judgements.
I hodl Sats, not sMerits.

Merit is somewhat like a gift and to receive this gift you must be worthy of it.

Though I would probably hesitate to give known trolls merit points if such a troll happens to contribute something really good, I don't quite see how someone should be considered worthy. I try to evaluate a post, not the human who posted. But I have to admit, that's sometimes easier written than done. It's not likely to be worthy all the time. Every post should be evaluated from scratch, has to prove to be worthy being merited again and again.

I see giving a post merit also as decorating it for other readers. A post I merit, I find it good for others, worthy to be read.

I guess you call it gift for writing something good and Lucrative enough to help someone out here in the community. But I believe this should be the least of your worried because you first need to educated and have enough knowledge of things that is going on here for you to starts contributing your very best because most person fail to understand this and start up the forum by chasing merit that will just make you stuck.

Hui, there.

It's like reward, but only special or certain members that can get or gain the merits.
@SatoPrincess has provided the link, so you can immediately read the information regarding merit in the link. That would be very helpful. Because it takes effort to succeed in getting merits. However, since you basically already have some knowledge about crypto, at least it won't be too difficult for you. So, you can just dig up information related to this forum and maximize your knowledge to contribute to this forum. This is a welcome forum, and you can learn many things here. All different opinions may appear during the discussion, but all is well.

...I see some beautiful profiles with lots ......
I'm actually wondering about this:
What is meant by beautiful profiles, picture avatar and also signature codes? If yes, then that is actually part of the way we operate and work in this forum. So, we can still survive quite well. And you can also do it well, as long as you don't mind the ongoing efforts.

Op good day it's seems that you are want to know on how to get high ranks or how  to get merits. And as I say that you need to know more about the forum and also you need to know the rules and regulations here in our forum in order to prevent such mistakes. Cause there's a possibility that your account will banned if you got a serious mistakes such us plagiarism. And the best thing to do to earn some merits is you must make a good post or reply so that some users will give you merits.

The beautiful profiles that you have seen are not created in a day or in a few days, but after a lot of effort and a lot of effort, such a profile is created. As you are now a new member of this forum, all the members whose profiles you have visited were also new members at one time. All the members whose profiles you have visited have struggled to get their profiles to this stage but many members who have created accounts with them have disappeared from the forum simply because of their lack of will power and effort. Hope you have strong will power and don't get lost from the forum but create a profile like the one you visited. To create such a profile you need to spend enough time on the forum and of course create good quality posts on the forum as well as share various information. Give your time to the forum and keep doing your work carefully, hope you can reach your goal.

Welcome to the forum! It's great that you have some knowledge of cryptography, as it will help and guide you in certain areas. However, just because you have some knowledge doesn't mean you understand everything about the forum and can say whatever you want. As a new member, you must abide by the rules in order to avoid any issues. As for earning points in the forums or moving up to a higher level, I would prefer that you calm down and don't rush into anything.

While it's not a bad idea to ask questions, you don't have to rush as a novice. Are you attempting to tell us that the only reason you joined the forum was to join the campaign? Even if you know a little bit about cryptocurrency, you still need to learn more about the forum. If you are here to earn merit, that is fine. If you make quality posts and participate in discussions, you will earn merit. As for the question of whether it is a gift, let me explain that it is something you receive for a job well done.

of the many good posts

and educating is the main thing, even though it is difficult, you can do it with insight

we have it by reading which is also a solution like I study
something
which is relied on to flow with thoughts that
want to keep going
The initial stages are difficult but little by little it gets better.

No matter what triggered us to write a post, it's good we make it simple to understand. There is no need to try to use heavy grammars just to pass an information. We all have different understanding when it comes to English language and many of us here have other native languages we speaks and we are fluent in.
Starting off as a newbie is never easy but since we'll have to pass through such a stage, then its paramount and we have to kewo working and trying to make common sense. Nothing good comes easy so we have to keep writing and doing some work for improvement.

If you like to see it for a gift, then to you it’s always going to be a gift but in reality, it’s just a tool to appreciate what could be seen as quality post, to promote quality post and to ensure spammers see the need to stop spamming while being more involved positively on the forum.

It’s a good thing you’re not coming on here bare and have got some knowledge about Bitcoin and the Cryptocurrency technology. It is what this space is about and having to share it, share what you know, drop update on happenings in the cryptospace from time to time, being articulate and constructive in your presentation, you would find yourself building a nice profile here over time.

Well,  it is a normal thing that everybody wants to be big that's why you admire the high rank members and it is good that you ask question on how to achieve that height and for you to achieve it you will have to discipline yourself by taking your time to read as many post as possible so as to understanding how this place works.
