Title: Mining DOGE with Antminer A3
Post by: Manojgg on March 16, 2024, 03:18:14 PM
Hi,

This is my first post in this forum. I am thinking of starting mining cryptos, starting with dogecoin using Antminer a3 (planning to buy a used one). I wonder if any of you have experience in mining dogecoin with Antminer a3 (with 500 Mh/s, 800 W)? How many doge coins can be mined in 24 hours (solo/pool mining)? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Bitmain Antminer A3 (815Gh)

This is not for DOGE mining

But if you are talking about this ASIC, then two people came up with the same idea ;D
Bitmain Antminer L3+ (504Mh)
https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/bitmain/antminer-l3-504mh

Read these posts through a translator, the same issue and the same ASIC are discussed :)

If it is not clear, I will translate the main idea for you.

DO NOT forget to indicate the price of electricity

Instead of choosing Antminer A3, you should consider how profitable it is (roughly speaking) from this list
https://www.asicminervalue.com/efficiency/scrypt, The difference in the price of electricity will directly affect your profits, try to calculate the electricity costs well.
The most profitable is the Antminer L7 (9.5Gh) and with low electricity costs and an expected rise in the Doge price you can make a good profit but I prefer mining in a bear market where you can get more Doge and HODLING for a long time.

Thanks for the reply.

As a test, I mined doge (on the mining pool) on my laptop (Intel i7, no GPU). The hash rate was about 4 kh/s and gave 1.4 dogecoin in 24 hours. On that scale, 500 Mh/s is very profitable, isn't it?

I guess I meant Antminer L3+  https://www.amazon.com/Antminer-Litecoin-Professional-Dogecoin-Algorithm/dp/B0CQXG8TT4/ref=sr_1_7?crid=38FMLU0E5MIEU&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.BxRKTsnsSZj1TYrVopuJgEXO5uvXkIcWyTTVYZHWwytw28HULDfFwg4cmKdsr5N_Tj1kjBwZaoQ7hGfp1ULv3H7RhVMMLH0Mx_b3xCeXf5Qv163rB9mxtIkk3m0InXzMPYNhklwiYfGJy2La6Tvu4k1mh2svKtuy7h8ojJwVrU9WumzTp11C2cfye-U45Qtt2xtU7soNgDQNJFcwkxEj6Q1ym1Tw7of_UmjO4MEuzwM.fyaaQ8eiSuRRAUqVqwD5ytMA8XFr3scLdJIm1Obt5JI&dib_tag=se&keywords=Antminer+A3%2B&qid=1710687234&sprefix=antminer+a3%2B%2Caps%2C95&sr=8-7 (https://www.amazon.com/Antminer-Litecoin-Professional-Dogecoin-Algorithm/dp/B0CQXG8TT4/ref=sr_1_7?crid=38FMLU0E5MIEU&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.BxRKTsnsSZj1TYrVopuJgEXO5uvXkIcWyTTVYZHWwytw28HULDfFwg4cmKdsr5N_Tj1kjBwZaoQ7hGfp1ULv3H7RhVMMLH0Mx_b3xCeXf5Qv163rB9mxtIkk3m0InXzMPYNhklwiYfGJy2La6Tvu4k1mh2svKtuy7h8ojJwVrU9WumzTp11C2cfye-U45Qtt2xtU7soNgDQNJFcwkxEj6Q1ym1Tw7of_UmjO4MEuzwM.fyaaQ8eiSuRRAUqVqwD5ytMA8XFr3scLdJIm1Obt5JI&dib_tag=se&keywords=Antminer+A3%2B&qid=1710687234&sprefix=antminer+a3%2B%2Caps%2C95&sr=8-7)

Any modern and expensive processor and video card will lose to ASICs in mining. You compare your processor with an old ASIC, and if you compare it with a new ASIC 9.5Gh, then it will be clear that mining on the processor will not give a profit.

Of course.
I wanted to compare ASIC with CPU before buying ASIC Miner. If a CPU with a hash rate of 4 kh/s gives 1.4 doge in 24 hours, that means even the old Antminer A3 with 500 Mh/s will give (500 * 1000 * 1.4)/4 =  175,000 doge in 24 hours. This is very profitable even after the electric bill.

I was discussing whether this scaling is possible or not.

With my tariff of 5 cents and consumption of 800 watts, I have a very noisy box with a profit of 36 cents per day.
I don’t know your electricity tariffs and your consumption limits, but scaling is not always possible, and if possible, it is very expensive, so you will have to buy modern ASICs. If you have free electricity, then this is a different situation.

at op it is all about your power cost.

Also you can set the machine to do 400mh use 600 watts and slower fans if it is too low.

So to the op what is your power cost.

you can merge  mine at viabtc.com pm me if you want a referral code.

I mine ltc + doge
