Bitcoin is already legalized in some Africa countries. I don't know the country that you are from, but my country has legalized the used of cryptocurrency, and Nigeria has the highest number of crypto daily users and adopters.

Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco , Ghana and Kenya and many more countries in Africa that bitcoin is legalized. It is not compulsory that the government must use it as a legal tender before, bitcoin can be used or is legal.

Not in some, but in almost all Africa countries because either the government of the country do not talk about it at all or they legalize it. I do not think there are up to 5 countries in Africa that illegalize bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in Africa.

Bitcoin is not a future digital currency, it is a current digital currency which you can use right now.

Bitcoin is also legal in majority of African countries today, with some making it explicit and others just allowing their citizens to do what they want with it. This is the same on all the different continents, acceptance of Bitcoin is at a very high rate.

Bitcoin has been a reality for a long time, now with government repression people are seeing the real utilitarian value it has.

One thing to note here is the exponential increase in the Nigerian local council, mainly reflecting the huge adoption of bitcoin by people, imagine the people there who have no idea that BTT exists... The number of bitcoin adoption in the African continent must be far beyond what we imagine... In a few years, we, bitcoiners, will be the new world nobility.

What a load of...

Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, Ghana and Kenya and many more countries in Africa that bitcoin is legalized. It is not compulsory that the government must use it as a legal tender before, bitcoin can be used or is legal.

Bitcoin is banned in Morroco!
Also in Algeria and Egypt, and apart from South Africa and Mauritius there is no country that has truthfully legalized it, more like regulate it!
And seeing Nigeria on that list, after the authorities issued a ban on exchange and almost kidnaped two Binance executives...lol!

i strongly believes that before BTC celebrate 50 years in existence at least one or two African countries is going to legalis it.

So, two countries by 2059, nice roadmap! Such impressive goals, much growth!

It has already been established that Bitcoin is legalized in some African countries despite not been explicitly announced by their governments. What I would like to think that will be accomplished with Bitcoin in Africa within the next 50years is it's scalability. I want to see more African businesses have a payment gateway for accepting Bitcoin. I also want to see Bitcoin being openly taught in African universities. I also would like to see Bitcoin open up in rural communities in Africa and it being utilized or held by the educated and uneducated. Just like Bitcoin banking the unbanked.  This are what I'll like to see before bitcoin celebrates 50 years in existence.

LOL..that was too harsh from the Government of Nigeria.  Crypto trading is still very active in Nigeria, because investors are using other exchanges to carry out their trade, and the government never announced that crypto has been banned.

I guess Binance was too loud, that was why they caught the authority's attention.

50years is a long time, by that time a lot of things can have changed. If bitcoin is made legal to transact, it would mean a radical change in the government systems would have happened already. It is possible but I dont see much progress at this level.

Blockchain is a technology that has been used by many companies out there. Its development is actively promoted by governments but not bitcoin.

It does not work that way. If the government sees something that they dont like but it is already so popular that they cant risk stopping it, they will put it in a grey zone and stop discussions on it.

You can see they accept Bitcoin and Bitcoin will be legal in African nations but legal tender is very far.

With very hatred policy, changes many times in Nigeria, and with uncertainty in politics of many African nations, I don't believe there will be any nation from the Africa continent, make Bitcoin legal tender soon.

They will be uncertain with their own national politics, fall to geopolitical manipulation from Russia and Western nations.

https://newhedge.io/terminal/bitcoin/legality-map

The map shows there are many countries in Unknown, only Algeria is Illegal, only Central African Republic is Legal tender.

I think you mean adopting it legally as a legal tender, as I believe that there is an African country that has already done that, and some small countries may do that. Although Africa has huge resources, in financial policy it does not represent a significant percentage of the global economy, and if there was any serious warning about Bitcoin in the United States or the European Union, most countries in the world would follow, and the opposite would be true if Bitcoin was banned.

It's not a question of wealth, or hoping to get rich with something... it's a question of freedom, not having borders to move your life, everything will be in the clouds, on the blockchain... Having the total power to choose where you live, without depending of nothing and no one... See Venezuela, many successful doctors and engineers today go hungry because their capital is tied up in one place... Bitcoin would solve this.

The new world nobility are the truly free people, not the rich.

Bitcoin has just managed to set an all-time record after its price managed to reach an All Time High (ATH) above $70,000. The increase in Bitcoin prices is certainly very profitable for investors who have kept it, including El Salvador, which has invested and accepted Bitcoin as a legal tender since 2021. Now El Salvador could become one of the richest countries in the world if the value of Bitcoin continues to rise as has happened in recent times.

The policy taken by the El Salvador government of investing by purchasing 1 Bitcoin per day needs to be adopted by African countries to achieve the level of success that El Salvador has achieved. The decision to legalize Bitcoin and accept it as legal tender will certainly attract criticism at the start of the policy, but over time countries investing in Bitcoin will bear fruit. It is possible that African countries that adopt Bitcoin as El Salvador has done can repay their loans to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) if the country has taken out loans before.

Bitcoin doesn't have to be legalized i.e. accept as a legal tender nor commodity, it's only need to not be banned. If Bitcoin in grey area, it means anyone is freely to buy Bitcoin without need to be afraid. Even though... technically you can buy Bitcoin even it's illegal in your country.

I think you mean adopting it legally as a legal tender, as I believe that there is an African country that has already done that,
Central African Republic no longer accept Bitcoin as a legal tender. (https://www.centralbanking.com/central-banks/currency/digital-currencies/7956294/car-to-drop-crypto-as-legal-tender)

I'm all for prosperity in a country so yes, I am hoping to see a lot of African countries get in line and adopt bitcoin, although I hope that it's not going to be a rich people only kind of prosperity because as it stands, bitcoin is for everyone who can afford to buy a bitcoin so I know for a fact that those that have the money will probably exploit the adoption and make sure that they've got the first place again against other people that really needed the bitcoin. I know that this isn't just a one continent issue though as this kind of inequality is prevalent in many countries too from different continents.

I do believe too that bitcoin is a symbol of waking up to the oppression that the masses endure so I'm all for it even more that bitcoin becomes a legal thing and that it's the best thing to happen, I'm sure that each adoption of bitcoin in Africa is going to be a monumental thing.

It will be hard to know which countries will legalize Bitcoin in Africa and which will not because as government changes, so does policies. As of today Central African Republic has taken the lead in this regards and many other African countries might consider it when they see the successes of CAR over the coming years.

When the new government of Nigeria came on board,  expectations were high that they will legalize Bitcoin following some of their policies like lifting the restrictions placed on accounts of some individuals and enterprises who engaged in cryptocurrency.  Well, the joy among crypto lovers of Nigeria was short-lived when the government began their crackdown on cryptocurrency exchanges which they accused of playing a part in messing up the exchange rates of the country, an action that could not address the worsening economy of the country and which many see as exercise in futility.

Conclusively, the potential of Bitcoin is great globally and even in Africa and with time, we will have leaders that will be able to embrace it rather than stand against it.

Not sure whether it's a post of hope or a post of sarcasm!

In 50 years of Bitcoins existence, I believe majority of the countries would legalise Bitcoin. Because many governments would understand the benefits of Bitcoin by then!

But one main question remains - if the world legalises Bitcoin, will Bitcoin be able to scale up to handle the volume?

The Blockchain behind bitcoin is indeed expanding rapidly and so many countries in Africa already have good understanding of how it works. Bitcoin does not necessarily need approval to be legalized in Africa or anywhere else, and i do believe that there is no country in Africa that citizens or individuals are not engaged in bitcoin. Bitcoin functions independently so individuals and business can choose to accept bitcoin as a form of payment without requiring government approval or legalising it.

That is actually correct. Bitcoin will be adopted as a legal tender of many countries. Already it has gone beyond expectations. Just that many places in the world are not yet awear about it. But before the 50 years of bitcoin existence, I believe it would have circulated all over the World. And will be fully adopted.

Just like El Salvador adoption of Bitcoin, which has become the talk of the day. EL savedo has become a focal point and has taken the Leed to challenge most part of the world on how important adopting Bitcoin as a legal tender should be. In due time more countries will mimic them and bitcoin adoption will increase.

Don't even go too far in expectations for 50 years, that's way too forward, anything can happen henceforth right now as we are talking, just as we have Central African Republic adoption of bitcoin when we least expect after El-Salvador bitcoin adoption as a legal tender, there are many African countries that have the prospect to this, if we first go with the consideration of the way they have been involved in bitcoin use, we may not have to wait that long before seeing more countries coming to adopt bitcoin as a legal, we already have two countries worldwide within the space of fourteen years and if bitcoin should get close to $100,000 or  beyond, we are likely to see more adoptions.

Unlike other African countries that have no actual stance on the use of cryptocurrency and have not also banned its use, Central African Republic already passed a bill on its use some years back. Despite this, they are not still amongst the top African countries that are using cryptocurrency more. Nigerian been the first and other African countries following suit, the Nigerian youths have found a way to keep themselves employed by tapping in the varieties of opportunities in the cryptocurrency space tackling the nature of unemployment in the country.

Exactly just like the government hasn’t come out to say they have banned in Nigeria Like past administration placed a banned on it, i still don’t see where they have actually legalized it. Rather this present government just reduced the the restrictions and more like everyone should do what they want it but they can’t be held liable for anything after it. The issue with binance is just a clear indication that should they decide to legalize it they will want to regulate it also.

bitcoin is a future digital currency, i strongly believes that before BTC celebrate 50 years in existence at least one or two African countries is going to legalis it. because block chain network is expanding every day by day. and most of the countries in Africa have the knowledge BTC how it works.

My easiest bet on countries that will legalize it are those countries with very poor currency valuation against other currencies. Although this wouldn’t just boost the economy but it will only help them to transact with other countries using it or rather safe on it than their own currency to help save their funds from inflation. As for the top countries they might want to have a way to regulate it before going ahead to legalize it

Bitcoin is still in the grey area in most African countries. There's no law permitting or restricting the use of bitcoin except for few countries like Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt where it is officially banned. With Bitcoin adoption rate increasing steadily, anything is possible and we may get to see an African country taking the bold step and making it a legal tender.

What do you mean by legality in this case? That bitcoin will be legal tender in several African countries? You know, 50 years (the next 35 years) is a long period of time during which bitcoin may cease to exist altogether. Therefore, instead of “I strongly believe”, you should say “I really hope”.

I consider it very unlikely that bitcoin will become legal in any country in the world, because no government will allow this. Even African countries with economic problems find it more profitable to print their local national currencies, which they can control and influence the populations of their countries.

Legality from the point of view of the absence of a ban on purchase and sale for investment purposes (minus taxes in favor of the state) is quite real. In principle, bitcoin is already legal, assuming there is no prohibition on ownership and use (and the inability of governments to track it), but not use as a means of payment. But I think that little by little new laws regulating this will appear in the legislation of all countries.

I think in some Africa countries bitcoin is legalise and also used as an alternative currency to purchase good and services and with time it will be legal in more countries. Bitcoin is getting more awareness and with time people are getting to understand the benefits it has.  Just give bitcoin sometime more countries will embrace it as legal tender because of how it beneficial and valuable to individuals, goverment will accept it for the people to partake in it benefits.

In the next 30 years, the stance a lot of countries have on Bitcoin would have shifted. African nations are slow to implement policies that will benefit their economies. Right now, most of the African continent is neutral about Bitcoin. My country have been inconsistent with their policy on Bitcoin for years. Despite the government antics, the people are very keen on Bitcoin and are open to accepting bitcoin as payment in their businesses.

My country has caused binance to remove our Fiat currency from their platform and they even went extra mile to withhold binance representative as at that time, all this happening but crypto-currency is still thriving in the country, this should tell any African government gain crypto-currency to back down.

I see that some of the businesses in the country have adapted bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general allowing it to be the payment method. Now, I don’t know much about the situation of bitcoin in their country but I don’t think number of investors can persuade a government to legalize it. In fact, it might even trigger the government to do some regulation policies to try control its activity and circulation

You think it was because of the loudness of binance that was what made the Nigerian government to come after them well I don't think so because binance is not new in the country and my guess is that the Nigerian government was only looking for more means to frustrate the efforts of the youth in the country that was their main aim of attacking binance since it was one of the biggest and most used exchange in the country.
They have successfully succeeded in attacking binance and her users in Nigeria why haven't they stopped everyone who's involved in cryptocurrency business you think they can't come up with another attack again don't be deceived they have informants everywhere and they attack binance because they couldn't give them the information they wanted so they could start hunting for the youth whom they will start freezing their naira accounts.

Bitcoin is already used in most of the African nations but when you say legalizing it do you mean government using Bitcoin in it's transactions? No that's not something which we would see but recently we know the Nigerian government's stance on crypto as it has been in news for all the bad reason.

Just understand Bitcoin is an P2P decentralized transfer which has been utilized for investment purpose and I think African government need to have more priorities like providing food, shelter and better lifestyle to it's citizens because end of the day Bitcoin cannot be owned or purchased if you don't have funds.

What we have seen is that sometimes Africa accepts Bitcoin as legal tender and sometimes they ban it. I feel they need more study about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Bitcoin hasn't been accepted everywhere from the beginning. Day by day, the government knows Bitcoin and accepts it. However, whether the government accepts or not, a wide range of people become related to Bitcoin. Even though I am using a cryptocurrency where Bitcoin is banned, So hope day by day Africa will realise about Bitcoin potential and they will not ban. At least we want not to ban it, though the government doesn't want to adapt it.

OP, I think before 20 years not above it, we will be surprised to count many African countries that have legalized bitcoin as a digital currency coupled with others that have.

African countries like Nigeria especially, have shown how they value bitcoin by being among the top countries that trade bitcoin the most. I am beginning to imagine before 20 years almost about 10-20 African countries could have joined legalized bitcoin, it would turn out to have a huge impact on bitcoin prices because many African citizens would find bitcoin as a way to scale into financial frebefore

We hope to see more than just the legalization of bitcoins in only the African continent, we hope it is global and gets the recognition and acceptance it needs from the government.

Even in Africa there are many people who have invested already, and many others that should have invested in bitcoin, but because of the government opinion not being clear on whether they have accepted Bitcoin as a legal tender there are still slow to decide and have not yet invested. If the government declared Bitcoin as very legal the adoption of it will increase.

The Central African Republic legalized Bitcoin as legal tender back in 2022, If I'm not mistaken.  So currently, some other African countries may not have specific regulations around using and accepting Bitcoin, but it doesn't appear to be illegal.  Typically if there are legal gaps where Bitcoin is not officially regulated that means it falls into a gray area, but I'd argue that with no explicit bans in place, Bitcoin use remains completely legal.

The way Bitcoin is gaining popularity, Bitcoin will be legalized not only in African countries but also in different countries of the world in the distant future. Countries that oppose Bitcoin will also legalize Bitcoin at that time. But it seems like a bitcoin revolution will start all over the world and people all over the world will start using bitcoins instead of paper money. But even if my country Bangladesh cannot legalize Bitcoin, the people of my country will be able to use Bitcoin spontaneously.

bitcoin is a future digital currency, i strongly believes that before BTC celebrate 50 years in existence at least one or two African countries is going to legalis it. because block chain network is expanding every day by day. and most of the countries in Africa have the knowledge BTC how it works.

The number of these countries may be higher. After a while, Bitcoin will be accepted by everyone, and if a few powerful countries accept Bitcoin legally, its acceptance in other countries will accelerate further. Some countries may be expecting such a step from a country that is stronger than them. I think these expectations will come true.

It's still early for many things and we still need to move forward. If we make this progress successfully, many good things can happen for Bitcoin.

It is truly extraordinary that your country has accepted BTC in all respects and legalized it, because many countries hope for the legality of BTC itself, but it would be better if BTC was not used as the main means of payment because wherever fiat is the typical currency of a country, it would be very unfortunate if must be secondary in every financial transaction

@OP it is not only Africa but other parts of the world.  I really hoping to see the global country accept Bitcoin as mode of payment.  I am hopeful that those countries that is hostile to Bitcoin to have a change of heart and accept Bitcoin and make it legal in those country to engage in Bitcoin trading, investment and integration.

I am hoping to see countries like Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gabon, Guyana, Lesotho, Libya and Zimbabwe that have implicit bans on cryptocurrency and countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and China that has absolute ban on cryptocurrency[1], see and get enlightened by the benefits of countries that accept Bitcoin and have their bans on Bitcoin get lifted and start making laws that allows the use of Bitcoin in their jurisdictions.

Bitcoin is general and have lifted me up in life. We can't stop the ban of crypto but they're legalized in some countries, that fact can not be denied. Bitcoin is universal and presentable anywhere in the country, perhapes the Governments have made crucial laws that will prohibits the projects from exploring. When it comes to mentioning Africa countries, they don't follow because the vast majority are developing countries and the top ones are figuring out ways to claimed for bitcoin without authorization from altering understandable.

Central African Republic declared BTC a legal tender, but not anymore, that law has been reversed and BTC is no longer a legal tender in Central African Republic. CAR is a very poor country that is lacking in electricity and also with very poor internet connection, the people of CAR also do not understand what BTC is or know how to use it, so surely that decision was bound to fail, which it did. The people of CAR are more worried about what their next meal is going to be, than spending BTC on anything.

Do you mean that some African countries will legalize Bitcoin, or do you mean to say that an African country would make Bitcoin a legal tender? What Frankolala said is the truth: Bitcoin is already legal in some African countries, even in Nigeria, where their government once banned crypto interaction with their banks, but later such a ban was lifted, and people are freely using Bitcoin in the country and other African countries too.

If you are assuming that Bitcoin might become a legal tender in Africa in the future, probably before the celebration of Bitcoin's 50 years of existence, then you may be right, but I don't know if that can be possible.

Let us put it this way, a lot of African countries have legal approach already towards btc and other crypto services, but making it as a legal tender is on the works. You can't make this route faster as each country have their own approach on how to deal with btc as legal tender, making great impact in their financial transactions.

The Central African Republic is among the country that have legalized bitcoin and it is also a legal tender that can be used in the country.

It goes to show that not all countries aiming for btc to be legal tender can be successful. Preparation and how well their people are informed are big factors in succeeding this endeavour. In most cases, poor countries have other big problems to take care of just as mentioned - electricity and food. And to think that, electricity is very important in crypto transactions, so it is understandable that it won't pan out.

I was going to say the same, but you added more to my knowledge because I did not know that these countries in the second paragraph have also legalized the cryptocurrencies, well, speaking of these, I am assuming our country might also legalize the crypto as well. Because we take loans from the IMF and the IMF has the ability to request our government to make some changes in the financial policies and now after the approval of ETFs.

Recently, they have requested our government to apply taxes on crypto as well, and crypto is not legalize here so I guess it will be legalize soon, and same scenario can happen to you, as the remaining countries in that side might also have to match the pace (world is moving forward) and for that, they have to legalize crypto to get full advantage.

Even now, it is kind of legalized in a few African countries, but it isn't the same as what we see in El Salvador. To have a similar kind of legalized usage as El Salvador, it takes time, and no president is that courageous to take a risky decision and enjoy the better part. Most countries don't take a supporting decision on legalizing bitcoin usage within their countries, thinking it may disturb the economy as the government doesn't hold control over it. This mentality needs to change, and the same will make the rest of the nation prioritize the legalization of bitcoin.

Yes, that is very likely. 50 years is actually a lot of time because Bitcoin is barely 20 years and it’s grown so much and has been recognized just too well. It wouldn’t just be countries in Africa. Other countries would also make Bitcoin legal. If you speak of Africa, I see a lot of Nigerians who talk about crypto everyday on Twitter; you can see how dominant they are already. Bitcoin will grow. It’s not something to second guess. These past years are a testament.

OP, I believe you are an African and, as such, would want to hear and know more about Africans  stand on bitcoin adoption. It is true that bitcoin is gradually gaining traction all over the world, including Africa. And as a matter of fact, some African nations have recognized bitcoin as a store of value, some recognize bitcoin as an asset, and some see it as an investment, but I am yet to hear or see any African nation that has made it into the public domain by accepting or adopting bitcoin as a means of legal tender. Although some western countries have already made their stand known, some are doing it in terms of investment and assets, while others have tagged it  a reserve. However they call it, I believe that in less than no time, bitcoin will surpass most of the so-called currencies that exist. As far as I see, 50 years is way too far for it to take effect.

YES, of course, africa has a lot of passionate human resources. I often read that their presence in the airdrop field is also quite a lot, from that I assume that bitcoin and other crypto are already quite large. Legal if in the form of investment may be acceptable for communities that know good entry points for trading. However, if it is for currency (payment) and bridges all ages and social levels there may be a need for counter aids. It could happen if readiness is very ready to work together to start financial activities with bitcoin.

Indeed, bitcoin is easier than the old barter law, but bitcoin has a pair unit with each fiat or other crypto that is unique. If for investment I agree, because it is possible to get a big profit simple X4 like between last year and now.

If the local government takes faster policies, it will certainly make it easier for the bitcoin community wherever it is, including in africa so that the circulation of bitcoin is denser and more effective. Simply put, if P2P is given freedom, it is even better if there is protection because bitcoin is real money. only different functions depending on regional policies.

Your enthusiasm for Bitcoin adoption in Africa is admirable.  The potential for financial inclusion, particularly for the unbanked population, is undeniable.  Imagine a scenario where Bitcoin empowers individuals to manage their finances more freely.

The concern about Bitcoin potentially becoming a tool for the wealthy is a valid one.  The current cost of Bitcoin creates a barrier to entry for many.  Imagine a situation where the financial advantage remains skewed towards those who can already afford to invest.

The observation about Bitcoin as a symbol of challenging financial oppression is interesting.  It highlights the potential for Bitcoin to disrupt traditional financial systems.  Imagine a world where individuals have more control over their financial resources.

Change is coming and I stand for it. If we have heard some countries that have lifted their bans on bitcoin or cryptocurrency, then it will also be possible with these countries that you have mentioned above. It will only take a change of government officials, because if we come to put those silent bitcoin enthusiasts like Bukele in El Salvador, then we can expect that these government will change their perception as well towards bitcoin. I know it’s going to happen later on, it’s just that when it will take effect remains left uncertain for everyone.

I don't want to look forward for that long. 5-10 years is fine of wait and anticipation but thinking of 50 years and even for the last bitcoin to get mined is out of my radar. I don't know if we'll still be existing by that time and there will be more changes to economics and financial industry by that time. So, it's just best to focus on the current time and a little few years in the future but if that's what you think that it should get prepared for then good luck. You have no control over that long to the world and global changes.

I'm not sure about the next 10 years, let alone the next 50 years, but with that line of thinking I also believe in the future popularity of bitcoin and that most countries will adopt its use. And obviously the acceptance in some African countries, and right now bitcoin is also very popular in this region, there are many issues surrounding it.

But I still have a little hope that life will be peaceful in the journey that bitcoin will develop.

You're referring to legal adoption as a legal tender, like the recent move in an African country. While Africa holds vast resources, its financial policies don't wield substantial global economic influence. Should there be serious warnings or bans on Bitcoin in major economies like the US or EU, other countries are likely to follow suit.

How you believe that before bitcoin celebrateit 50years the one or two  African countries will only legalized it where already I am seeing more than five countries don't have any ban on there. Are you saying this based on correct information? I am seeing that in Africa - Namibia, South Africa, Angola, Mauritius, Central African Republic, Tanzania, Nigeria in these countries bitcoin is legal some of them have banking ban but most of them legalized bitcoin.  If you want you can check this information from Wikipedia- Legality of cryptocurrency by country or territory (http://Legality_of_cryptocurrency_by_country_or_territory).
Moreover, the countries where bitcoin is illegal are called third world countries and it is a common problem of third world countries and first world countries have no problem to legalize bitcoin. Because they know that only by Legalizement of Bitcoin will it be possible to control it, I mean it will be easier to detect criminal activities.

Legalisation of bitcoin or crypto currency is a long road. I mean, many countries and their governments are still hesitating in crypto as it can't be controlled; they can't put taxes on every transaction or the buying of assets, so it's normal that they still can't get the hand of it. For example, if El Salvador is a country that accepts the usage of bitcoin and crypto currency, what is the trigger for them to accept and adopt crypto currency? Simple because many people demand it and many people do it, so the government of that country has no choice but to adopt it in order to have harmony, and it's great that people there can freely use bitcoin or crypto currency for transactions, but of course, in the early stages, we can notice the struggle as the adoption and acceptance of this kind of complex system are not easy without proper planning.

Africa is a dubious continent, they can be aware that a functioning development are in good helping services to their people but would always crave on standing against it and that is why the African countries are being so backwards in developments and acquiring of the advanced technologies and lacking developments all just because their leaders who are already worthy before resuming office are rulling to get richer while the youths and the poors are crumbling for hard times of living.

Due to the decentralization and non-custodian policies in the digital system, I doubt if any of the African countries would humbly accept it as alternative for their financial transaction payments. Although there had been the legality of bitcoin and the Crypto currencies there in some African countries such as my country Nigeria but where individuals and the private sectors can accept and trade with it while restricted from the government sectors accepting it.

Anyways... If there would be any of such we OP has insighted whether the information is authenticated or not but in as much such future streams about Bitcoin in African would come through then it is also a welcomed development for the countries.

Africans are definitely ripe for the bitcoin takeover. In the past countries like Nigeria have shown respect and massive interest in acquiring bitcoin as a means of financial backup and sometimes even financial option for them, given the fact that bitcoin can literally 0 to 100 you in a matter of days or weeks.

If all it takes for the entire African continent to be bitcoin-friendly is a little push from the outside world, I'm pretty sure the industry and the community wouldn't mind giving you guys that little oomph in support and love, and may even provide you with real tangible assistance to mobilize your plans for bitcoin adoption in a much faster and more efficient ways.

Africa also gets sun all year-round, allowing them to mine cryptocurrencies without issue against environmental destruction or oil fees since the sun is a renewable source of energy and it's so accessible, Africa has got all the things that it needs to start this bitcoin revolution within their territories, all they really need is a solid plan that unites them together, and they should be good to go.

Many people from African countries currently invest in Bitcoin and many people are involved in crypto currency. Basically the citizens of the Nigerian country usually try to get involved in various crypto related activities including investing in Bitcoin to alleviate their poverty. Nigerians may not have a clear idea of what kind of decisions they will make or what decisions they will make in the countries they are in. From Nigerian countries we can see different decisions at different times. The government of Nigerian countries has never settled on any particular decision. They never confirm that they don't approve bitcoin in their country and they don't directly approve bitcoin. Once they tried to allow bitcoin and then they banned bitcoin, due to the state of their decision I am also confused whether they will allow bitcoin in their country in the future.

bitcoin is a future digital currency, i strongly believes that before BTC celebrate 50 years in existence at least one or two African countries is going to legalis it. because block chain network is expanding every day by day. and most of the countries in Africa have the knowledge BTC how it works.
There are already countries that accept or legalize bitcoin in african countries but I
am not sure if you live in those who is not have this legalizing but I am sure you will benefits
when this happens.
You're referring to legal adoption as a legal tender, like the recent move in an African country. While Africa holds vast resources, its financial policies don't wield substantial global economic influence. Should there be serious warnings or bans on Bitcoin in major economies like the US or EU, other countries are likely to follow suit.
this is also that I wanted to happen in my country , to have bitcoin as legal
tender , hoping also that you will take this mate.

I am appreciating with OP decision wish in the future to see some countries in Africa legalize bitcoin become payment transaction, but believe or not thousand countries in African legalize bitcoin can't bring bigger impact with one top European country make bitcoin as legal payment. Small impact for the world make less benefit when bitcoin becoming transaction and difficult break out bitcoin raise to higher price or become more popular,
so far El Savador and several African countries have adopted bitcoin as legal payment tender but still difficult for bitcoin get acceptable with the top country.
Need to see the against countries with United State such as Russia or China make bitcoin as legal payment transaction and bitcoin will be popular on the future by adopting all developing countries around the world.

It's in two ways from how I view it here; it's a future digital currency for those that haven't adopted it either as a store of value or transaction purposes and while for those of us already making use of it it's nothing of a future digital currency but something we're all already living in the present with as a financial instrument.

As for legalization by African countries I am sure that if it's just African countries alone bitcoin doesn't have a problem of acceptance as with all the countries of the African continent you can hardly see any that's with stringent restrictions towards it's citizens on the use of bitcoin and cryptocurrency as a whole unlike in other countries of the world.

Africa is a new market and is ready to adopt new financial solutions to achieve economic development and improve quality of life. El Salvador in Latin has successfully applied the BTC strategy and African countries can learn from it. However, this also requires the government to be truly open to crypto. Nigeria has become a dangerous country for crypto after its government tried to attack CEXs and blamed crypto for the devaluation of its currency.

Crypto is currently being mined, stored and traded via P2P in Africa, especially in countries with high inflation, but to develop further it also needs to be approved and supported by the government. We will need a large-scale experiment in one African country to strengthen the feasibility of using crypto for the purpose of national economic development.

Before Bitcoin celebrate 50 years of existence, I also want it to have achieved so many things but not getting regulated. African citizens love Bitcoin but not the government because some of the African countries haven't said anything about Bitcoin and the government of others are fighting Bitcoin. I want Bitcoin to be very known and used in the world and not just in Africa because Africa can't start a revolution for Bitcoin. Africa has more life challenging issue than accepting Bitcoin. African has power issue, internet supply issues and also have water and educational challenges. African should focus on solving this issue first so they can give a good life to people from the continent and reduce the amount of individuals that are migrating every year to Europe and other part of the world to search for good life.

Yes, Africa is an untapped potential of a continent and if you ask me, if they can ever stop the terrorism, civil wars and corruption in a lot of countries in Africa, that continent is going to be the most prosperous of all. I think bitcoin is going to be a big help too, they're going to benefit from the fact that they've got an option to invest in something that's out of reach of many people that may try to steal from them, that's what I can get from all of this, I do believe too the legalization of bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general is a really big economic help for everyone especially the low income individuals that don't have the ability to increase their income. This will not just benefit the individual but also the economy of the country as a whole, with more purchasing power for individuals, more products and services are bought thus increasing demand and production.

Well, it is not illegal in most of the African countries, because I know that Nigeria and South Africa has regulated it and people are paying "Capital Gains" taxes on their trading profits.

The big hurdle will be for countries to legalize it as a "Currency" as legal tender, because most countries has accepted it as a "Commodity".

If governments accepted it as a commodity to trade, it would no longer be possible for it to become currency as legal tender. Although Satoshi's intention to create bitcoin was just currency, so far we can confirm that that will not happen. Everyone sees bitcoin as a commodity to make profit instead of treating it as a currency. I even think that even if the government accepts it as a currency, not many people will use it for payments as long as its volatility persists.

African continent and its countries are growing fan  of Bitcoin(or at least altcoins) so
there is nothing impossible for this to take place in future or even sooner , but what could
help you guys is yourself and community , you should help the bitcoin to be acknowledge
of your government and then followed by legalization , but what I wanna ask you is that
"do bitcoin banned or illegal in africa?" if yes then yeah you should keep pushing this to
your countrymen to partake in this initiative in government accepting bitcoin.

The main reason for Africa not accepting Bitcoins as a legal tender is due to the decentralised nature of the coin. For this they are not able to track how many Bitcoins an individual has, and again they are not able to impose tax on it. It’s really hard for a nation to accept Bitcoins at this moment, don’t know about the future, but if they can compromise with the taxes then definitely Bitcoins can be accepted at major parts of Africa as legal.

In authoritarian African countries, legalizing Bitcoin may face challenges due to centralized control. However, discussions around its benefits for financial inclusion and economic growth could still emerge, influenced by factors like government attitudes towards digital currencies and financial systems.

The number of crypto users in Nigeria is probably the highest among all other African countries, and this number keeps growing every day, Nigerians are very good at going after technology thats trending, they are smart people, even when Bitcoin was still very new I remember that some Nigerians are already building their own Bitcoin mining farm, I saw one in 2014 and I was curious what all those machines are for.

Instead of me to do my own research I neglected it, maybe I would have known Bitcoin so very soon instead of getting into Bitcoin in 2017, but thats that, I can't turn back the hands of time, bitcoin is already legalise in Nigeria but I believe that even if its banned many people won't stop getting into Bitcoin in that country.

Bitcoin ease the hardship of many citizens of Nigeria, many people are into crypto trading, investing and also crypto mining, I wonder what all these people would do if crypto never existed.

It is bad for my fellow African members of this forum, they are trying to earn a livelihood from their earnings on this forum and working hard for the same, either freelancing on sites or doing different types of internet based work.

My suggestion is to continue your struggle and never lower your voice against such governments. Eventually they will forced to allow bitcoin usage and maybe not legalize it but allow it without asking questions.

At least its not like they are imposing 30% tax on crypto. ::)

With so many countries accepting it already, African countries would be left underdeveloped if you they fail to lash onto the Blockchain so as not to be left behind by the rest of the world.
Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is a way out of the many economic hardship so many African countries are facing and if Bitcoin can be adopted soonest to aid the plight of the citizens then the problem of recession and inflation would have gotten to a balanced quotient before the central banks even offer a solution out.

Bitcoin has much popularity in Africa, this coin has been in use in African is just that the government of african does not support a sincere system that's devoid of corrupt practices, bitcoin as a decentralized system does not permit somethings like total control by an entity in the system and the government does not like such because of the government sharp practices, we all know that once Bitcoin is totally adapted as a legal tender in Africa many things may stop, wallet can be tracked to know the amount that's in their so what if such wallet is for the payment of a government do you think such matter will be put to rest just like that, I think the answer is no, the only event that can take place in Africa in regards to bitcoin is individual or institution adoption, Africans are enjoying bitcoin transaction already wether the government approve it as a legal tender or not we are okay with the system as it is.

Imho, african countries have way more serious problems to deal and sort out before thinking about adopting bitcoin as a legal tender.

Just take for example Central African Republic and their experience with making bitcoin legal tender. They agin absolutely nothing as they were simplt not ready to adopt something as tehnical as bitcoin is and instead they just did it because it was a cool thing to do.

It's obvious many countries will legalize the use of bitcoin sooner or later I think it's a matter of time. Aside Africa countries, a lot of countries will definitely legalize bitcoin. The fact we live in a digital era and if people fail to be partaker they might never benefit, legalizing bitcoin is not so difficult in most Africa countries but making bitcoin a legal tender seems difficult. I think without legalizing bitcoin people still make use of bitcoin freely under a private term, bitcoin doesn't necessary need the crowd to survive instead bitcoin still remain bitcoin without a legal permission. For example most Africa countries still have a great number of adoption rate, people who want bitcoin will go for bitcoin.

As time goes by, I think before Bitcoin reaches 50 years old, more and more countries will definitely adopt Bitcoin. As technology becomes more sophisticated, payment systems will become more adaptable. However, there will be many ways or methods applied, it is possible that in the future there will be other breakthroughs, because what is being targeted is a super fast payment system. No one yet knows how sophisticated it will be in the next 10 years, but speculation so far is that CBDC is also continuing to try to be able to compete to upgrade because it can be controlled and developed.

I wish that anyone living in any country with a government that can control whether bitcoin is legal or not would be able to break free and override that countries ruler or rulers.  The beautiful thing about bitcoin is that it can't  be shut down, no matter what.  There are always going to be decentralized exchanges as well as OTC (over the counter) sales, which eliminate the need for an exchange.   I know that many nation is many parts of war torn Africa could really benefit.

There’s only two options in the end, either they will legalize it because majority of the other countries are already into it, or they will continue to neglect bitcoin and eventually left behind by other countries. Well, I don’t think they won’t be competitive at all. Of course, if the government leaders will focus on the citizens welfare, then they will prioritize bitcoin without any doubt, regardless if they are trying to impose an authoritarian type of government.

A optimistic side and a pessimistic side indeed. I guess that is what the country people are feeling at the moment. Keep on with your work by spreading the awareness and information about crypto in your locality, it needs to be well ingrained among the natives that crypto is nothing but a moneytary method, bad people have used it for bad things, but it is essentially a good thing for the world.

If the message goes through strongly enough, eventually the government will turn and legalize the use of bitcoin or put it in grey area like many other countries.

But we need to spread the word in the clearest way, I mean any method of making money will have wins and losses, and cryptocurrency is no exception. Don't just spread the word about the huge profits that cryptocurrencies bring and hide the risks that it brings to them just because we want cryptocurrencies to become popular.

In addition, leading cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, in addition to being an investment asset, we can also use it to protect our assets. With its decentralized nature, it will help us improve privacy and can make us our own bank, we do not need to depend on third parties to preserve our assets.

Invariably, bitcoin is supposed to be used before it becomes legal.Bitcoin is already in circulation;acceptance and usage of bitcoin is continuously increasing without any further altercation.
Bitcoin,so long as it continues to fulfill its purpose and meets the demands of its users, acceptance and adoption rate is on the high side.Bitcoin is already in its future, and whoever fails to normalize or adopt is literally not been serious.
