Title: How do you feel when you earn merits in your post or replies.
Post by: JMBitcointernational on March 23, 2024, 03:17:21 AM
Before i started making a post or replies as a newbie, I explored the forum and I saw different usernames and ranks with so many earned merits and post counts, at first i was confused and very scared because I don't know when I will get a single merit not to talk about multiple merits of the legendary ranks.

Because of fear and huge phobia to write nonsense, I started reading the posts of high ranked members, precisely from full member rank up to the legendary rank to know how they organize their words and come out with a quality post. I was very comfortable reading their threads and learning how they arrange their topics to fit the forum standards, so many of the high ranked members are good quality posters i must confess, i did not want to mention names here but permit me to tell you that fillippone inspired me a lot with his writing skills and his organization of words.

lastly, my first post was not merited and the feeling is not something I can say here, but I was still very curious and anxious to learn how to earn merits then, my second post was merited and that was when I felt that am beginning to understand the forum because i was very excited at my first merit even when I know that I don't have much merits now but that first feeling gave me hope that I will succeed and  learn more in the forum . So, friends  i will like to see how you felt at your first merits if you can make out time to share with me thanks.

First merits are most meaningful and emotional, later merits don't bring big emotion than very first merits.

Only difference for very last merits that can help an account to rank up raise my emotion up.

If you feel great, you can announce your self-praise in Announce your rank up, merit or any achievements that makes you feel great! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5391471.0)

Your posts are what forum members read and appreciate your posts or ignore so let's focus on your posts, don't pay much attention on your merit.

A small dopamine hit that lasts like 5 seconds, then I move on as if nothing happened.

You don't need to try to analyze word organization or arrangement or whatever to be eligible for merits. Post quality content, earn merits. That's it — don't overthink it. If you earn little to no merit you simply aren't helpful or contributing enough.

To this day I feel nothing but curiosity. As BlackBoss_ says, at the beginning they did provide a positive thrill but once I acquired the rank of Legendary, which is the highest I could reach, and it's clear that I'm not competing to be one of the top merit earners, now earning merits from time to time is part of a routine. What I am curious about when I receive a merit is to see for which post it was given to me.

Your first will always be precious, more precious than the rest.

Your early merits would probably put a smile on your face not only because your post is appreciated but because there is a higher rank that you are climbing. And merits are what you primarily need to achieve them.

At some point, however, or perhaps when you reached the highest rank, merits may not anymore be as precious. They may come, they may not. All you care is that you join discussions and enjoy it.

If I were you, I wouldn't be chasing merits. It will naturally come if your posts are of value.

Ultimately, merits must be given to you by other users, and that is something that you the poster cannot control, so if you earn merits on a post, it feels good because it clearly means someone read your post and thought what you said was deserving of their smerits. The thing you should not do is having slepless nights over it, as there are many reasons why your posts might not be earning as many merits as possible, one could be the board you frequent or just a general reduction in merit circulation, but if you genuinely post what interests you and you get better with your Bitcoin knowledge to help people out and contribute to the forum, you'd earn merits.

Merit is everyone's quality poster award. When one gets regular merit he/she thinks it is a simple thing but the feeling of getting first merit is very good for everyone. Getting merit is very easy for some and very difficult for some but getting 1st merit is a tough task for everyone. so everyone's feelings are very good at this time.  Although I didn't get much excitement for the merits in the form of airdrops for ranking up, but it was a lot of fun when I got merits on my own posts.

The common advice here is not to focus on merits but what you're learning, this however is easier said than done, especially for new members to the forum. Merits encourage users and goes to show then that their effort is being appreciated, as those members are still trying to find their feet in the forum.

The downside is if you get addicted to it, you run the risk of becoming desperate for more and more merits, which can norivateone to start merit begging or duplicating posts that have been created a million times over.

So it's still good advice to not focus on merits and just enjoy the forum. Try out all the different features of Bitcoin and ask questions where you have issues.

There is one special feeling that comes with earning your first merit, especially as a newbie who might have made a lot of posts on the forum. If you see no merit in your posts, it will look as if you are not doing right, and when you see someone who is in the same rank as you who might have earned a lot of merit, you might start feeling discouraged, especially when you want to feel among others, but the moment one merit comes to your profile, your courage and zeal to push hard will be refilled.

If you look at the number of merits that will take you to the next rank, most times it's hard to achieve in our eyes, but one thing I know for sure is that those who are their aside from the once that were airdropped merit, which qualifies for their next rank (I mean the active members before the merit system), every other person earned from 1 merit to where they are today. The earning speed might not be the same, but with consistency, you will get their one day. Just don't give up.

Merit like the name suggest is a measure of the quality of information contained in your post so when your post is merited, it will surely bring some kind of good feelings such as will make you believe you are contributing to this forum and the Bitcoin community.  This feeling of achievement is not perculiar to newbies and low ranking members who many believe are just posting for the merits,  even Legendary members also feel good when their posts are merited.

If an active member goes for weeks and months without earning merits, he will be overwhelmed by the feeling of frustration. Personally, if I don't earn a merit in a week, I will be so discouraged but I somehow have my way of picking myself up. I don't know if others do it, but whenever I notice my post receives merit,  I will go back to the post and read it over and over again to see why it earned merit and how I can build on it.  Merits truly give a feeling of fulfilment.

My first merit experience in this forum was very exciting, I actually felt like I won a lottery, because I didn't have any crypto knowledge before I joined, and it really encouraged me to improve in the quality of my posts. I think that to flow in the forum, share and learn new things everyday, members should not focus so much on merit, because it can be discouraging if it doesn't come, so low ranked members should just keep making crypto related research and improve the quality of their posts. Eventually the merits will start pouring in, maybe slower than expected but don't be discouraged.

Merits are a form of motivation and guidance. now when you make a post and you earn some merits as a newbie it simply acts as a guide to know the amount of quality contained in the post. Over time you will definitely aim for higher ranks and merits help you get there. The point is as you rank up you may not be too concerned about merits just like others mentioned. Merits are like magnets attracted to quality posts and you don't have to worry much other than contribute quality.

Congratulations poker player I guess 2000 merits will cheer you up and definitely put a smile on your face .

That is reality about Merritt it make the heart know that its effort is not waste and give courage to know that one is progressing. Merrit  it's like a student who passed a course or subject in school he have more courage of understanding that he/she is in the right path

If I stay with Merritt it reminds me of not meeting target or not improving and seek more tactical way of improving because it worries my heart why I couldn't have it because any student that failed exam will always keep worrying why no progress.

I very likely was quite excited too, receiving first merits. They are a token of appreciation by others who find value in your own posts. And therefore received merits spark a little joy in me from the beginning and still every time again.

But I try not to focus on merits, this is not the way to go. I try to focus on what I can contribute of value to a thread. It might not always be possible, sometimes I just want to share my opinion and not overthinking too much. Paying attention to quality, less with motives of merits collecting will do the good for you on its own. Merits will come naturally...

If merits don't flow in or rate of flow changes considerably, it's time to assess your own posting style and habits.

Try not to be obsessed with merits, though I acknowledge this is easier said than done. Chill and don't shitpost.  :D

Totally true. First on  receiving a merit reward, you get excited and rush to check on which post you had received it and then read the post again to see what you had replied. I don't know if it's same for others but thats what I usually do in receiving merit. Then after that few seconds the excitement dies of and then I wait for new merits. It's sometimes a good thing to know that you earned new merits.

Before i started making a post or replies as a newbie, I explored the forum and I saw different usernames and ranks with so many earned merits and post counts, at first i was confused and very scared because I don't know when I will get a single merit not to talk about multiple merits of the legendary ranks.

This is something I usually tell every newbies upon register an account with the forum. The best way to grow and earn merits from the from is to learn from old forum members, check out their posting style and try to see if you can be like them. After you have successfully understood how they are able to make their post and posting style so unique, then you try using your own style and make it unique. Most time a lot of newbies fails to understand these little truck and goes ahead posting without understanding the forum and then you see them complaining later on that they don't earn merits.

I feel miserable when I earn merit. :'(

Earn merit is like earn money, there's no way someone won't feel happy because merit is a reward. If you get merit, it means you're in a good track, if not, you might make a mistake, but that's fine because the forum won't ban someone if you didn't receive any merit for 10 years etc.

If an active member goes for weeks and months without earning merits, he will be overwhelmed by the feeling of frustration.
No, they won't frustrated because they can still earn money. ;)

If they're active, never earn merit and didn't receive any money, then it's correct.

The feeling when you see that your post has been merited is always amazing, it brings this feeling of satisfaction of acceptance, knowing that someone finds your post interesting and useful. These will make you keep up and do better, you did well going to review the post of some for the senior members, that should guide you in the forum. We learn everyday, keep looking forward to the next post, that’s what I have always told myself, keep the train moving instead of just wallowing in just one merit. Another thing you should know is that not all your post will be merited that does mean they not good post, this is why I just try to make my post as good and quality enough. I don’t usually don’t post for merit, that doesn’t mean I don’t feel happy when I get one, I just feel like once you start overthinking about the merit, it will can be a problem, posting out side the line.
There are still a lot to be learned  about the forum, here is like community, it will take you some time till you become very familiar with the community. You just have to follow the process, there are no double promotions here, every thing is followed in due process. You should continue with your quality post you have going on, and since it’s a Bitcoin discussion from you should post some on Bitcoin discussion from time to time, this will further broaden your knowledge about Bitcoin. You will see that they are a lot to learn here in the forum, do not hesitate to ask for help when you are having difficulties, the senior members will be so happy to help out.

Actually I was really happy when I got my first merit, and I can still have the username of that person at the back of my mind till date and it was a legendary member, the thing is that when you are being merited for a post you made, you feels like your effort was being appreciated, and you will want to give more.

But the thing is that it might lead to frustration if you focus more on merit, because their will be times you will make a post you expected to attract the least 1 merit, but nothing will come out of it, so if you are focusing more on merit, you will be frustrated which is not good,  so to me I just focus more on posting quality, after that I believe that the rest will come on it's own.

Earning merit in a post or reply brings this joy that can't be explained fully. Merit are rewards that can't be bought, so when I see a merit in my post it give me the reminder that I am still a helpful poster in the forum especially when you are still in a low rank. Sometimes it feels as though they neglect some quality post of lower ranked member. This is the mentality of some lower rank, though it's not absolutely true but despite this mindset, when you see your post merited you feel among the good contributors but after you have received some amount of merit, the feeling of excitement start depreciating.

Merits or no merit I don't have any feeling attached to it because I know that is not my problems and besides during the merits system my profile were airdropped with huge volume so since then I have earned more to have gotten to this stage but it doesn't trigged me anymore except those newbie who are eagerly to grow and increase in their rank. Merits is what determined how quality your post is and how creative you are, otherwise anyone who doesn't make merits show how low his post is or maybe he doesn't post on a regular board because I believe there are boards that attracts merits such as, for example Local board is another place to grow more quickly than any other board here.

That is surely a way to cheer someone up. Poker player has been one of the quality posters i know on the so achieving the milestone really proves well his postings have been appreciated. Congratulations to him and we are looking forward to see you get to 3000 merits @poker player

That’s practically how everyone feels at first when they join the forum but as time goes on you begin to get used to things and understand what the forum expects from you. Earning your first merit is the most difficult merit to earn and also the most appreciated merit of all being a newbie you will dying to earn merit but as you get used to it it won’t be a big deal anymore. As a newbie when you first concentrate on learning it will make earning your first merit easier because it will elevate your posting skills there by increasing your chances of earning merits. Earning your first merits is the best feeling ever.

I do not believe those that will say they do not fell anything as they are earning merit. As I am earning merit, I am happy. I am not happy because I receive merit but I am happy because I am one of the people that is making good posts, learning from people and people learning from me. It makes me feel that I am useful to some people on this forum. Especially if I earn merit from highly established members, it makes me feel good. I also think that it will make people like you feel good but you just do not want to say that.

I actually agree with your view regarding merits.

There have been numerous of newbies asking the same question over and over again regarding merits. They seem to think that merits would come easily by just posting- it is actually more than that. Unfortunately, instead of being an inspiration it becomes their downfall as they tend to be uninspired when they are slapped with reality that earning merits is not a walk in the park.

I definitely agree with you.

Focus on enjoying and learning things in this forum as most of the information posted here are worth reading. You learn along the way and this will come in handy especially if you are applying this knowledge in posting.

Since receiving merits is not by making a post alone, but the receivers end have to be satisfied with the quality in what you're posting, which means, you can post something meaning and i see it and appreciate all your efforts but lack smerits to give or not even willing to give if i have any, while some may have and be ready to give your post they see with quality content as others may not even see anything thoughtful i your post, you can agree with me that one may receive merits when he less expected for that and also get nothing the moment he put all mind on a particular post for merits.

At my amateur time of being in this forum as a newbie I was never after merits neither did I really know the usefulness of merits but what I was after about was how to make constructive threads and expecting positive replies from those who had existed in the forum before me and I was being more careful so that I don't get criticized or sanctioned of my nuisances.
I was more interested about how these old folks ranks would commend my efforts and contributions and anytime I comes about any positive replies either of my created threads or my replies, I usually feels busted and energized to keeping it up and do well craving to also advance so I can grow in ranks. Yet then I never knew merits was also part of the earning to increase my ranking Membership.

Nothing more especial since its not somehow important but would provably got curious on who are those generous people sending some merits to me and be thankful to them. Sometimes I also send them merit as token as appreciation or for saying thank you for what they give to me.

But don't chase up those merit since this not will determine who you are focus building up your knowledge since this could give you more security especially if you want to earn on crypto. Merits will just came if you just forget about it since if you always think or check if your post got a merit then provably you will get disappointed since you might not get what you want from other people.

Don't get afraid to post its normal to commit mistakes there are people will correct you and hopefully you are open on criticism or corrections from our fellow member here.

It was a good feeling, it felt like your post is being acknowledged and appreciated. I don't know about others but when a post of mine gets merited, even today, I still do get the feeling I felt when I got my first few merits. I am not sure if this feeling will ever stop but I am always glad when a post of mine is merited.

Look how the newbies rejoice at their first merit. Surely many were similar in feeling. However, someone who strives for a very long time and works hard to achieve his first merits, wondering why they are given to him with such difficulty, is very different from someone who does not think about the number of merits. And this behavior relieves tension and doubts, as well as uncertainty, but in a strange way makes it very easy to obtain merit. Don’t demand much from people; if someone doesn’t appreciate your post, it doesn’t mean it’s bad. Accept the fact that you are being read, and this is much better, since you may be helping someone who is just learning to understand the forum.

at first i was confused and very scared because I don't know when I will get a single merit not to talk about multiple merits of the legendary ranks.

It's a gradual process; you don't have to be scared or fear that those people you see with thousands of merits also started it the way you started it. It's just hard work, and you will reach there too. Therefore, you can read their merited posts and see how quality they are so that you can copy their post style and create your own too. You'll get to that rank, so don't be afraid; just be a hardworking user on the forum and you will earn merit like other people.

Because of fear and huge phobia to write nonsense, I started reading the posts of high ranked members, precisely from full member rank up to the legendary rank to know how they organize their words and come out with a quality post. I was very comfortable reading their threads and learning how they arrange their topics to fit the forum standards,

Normally, this is how every new member of the forum is supposed to learn since the high-ranking members already know everything about the forum. The best thing for beginners is to read other posts so that they can understand how things are supposed to be done in the forum. It is not a new thing to read other members posts to know how to compose your own. That is how everyone here grows and learns from each other.

lastly, my first post was not merited and the feeling is not something I can say here, but I was still very curious and anxious to learn how to earn merits then, my second post was merited and that was when I felt that am beginning to understand the forum because I was very excited at my first merit even when I know that I don't have much merits now but that first feeling gave me hope that I will succeed and  learn more in the forum.

Maybe your first post was not worth meriting, and that is, nobody wastes their merit on it. I again understand that not all of your posts will merit merit, even if they are worth it, because sometimes people who view or comment on your posts may not have merit at that moment, or your posts were not worth it. I believe that between these two things, one will happen.

So, friends I would like to see how you felt at your first merits if you can make out time to share with me thanks.

It's really encouraging. I don't know about other people, but for me, any time I get merited, I feel so motivated to put in more effort to what I'm doing. You know, merit is just like appreciating what you did.

Well I feel so encouraging whenever time I get merited from any of my post, it strengthen me the more to still work hard so as to gain merit More often. ranking up to the position of been a legendary isn't that easy, but depending on how serous and hard working you are,and also knowing the reason why you're here, that's when you can only get to this level. However becoming a legendary is everyone's prayer point,is just a matter of time and also been persistent with work, I strongly believe that some day everyone will definitely get to that level.

My first 900 merits? I felt happy, and I think that I deserve it even though I'm not as good as the other users here who are earning more than 1000, 2000, 4000 or even more.
The next ones? Nothing anymore.

Anyway, I said 900 because when the merit system started, I already got 100 airdropped merits as a Full Member rank. There are many people here especially those newbie to member rank ones who are constantly aware of the merits they're getting. I mean they wanted to rank up faster in various ways so they are making threads like this and that, but there are some who really are making some good quality posts hence, they're getting merits from different merit sources, and even not merit sources as well.

As for you OP, congratulations on being a member rank, but if you focus more on getting merits than getting knowledge then you are like other low ranked members out there.

Before i started making a post or replies as a newbie, I explored the forum and I saw different usernames and ranks with so many earned merits and post counts, at first i was confused and very scared because I don't know when I will get a single merit not to talk about multiple merits of the legendary ranks.
Merits should not be overestimated. These are just merits. To receive them, you don't necessarily need to perform feats and most often this can be perceived as a “like”.

Your phobia of writing nonsense is unfounded, because nonsense is common on the forum. :)

But try to find topics and writing style that suit you.

lastly, my first post was not merited and the feeling is not something I can say here, but I was still very curious and anxious to learn how to earn merits then, my second post was merited and that was when I felt that am beginning to understand the forum because i was very excited at my first merit even when I know that I don't have much merits now but that first feeling gave me hope that I will succeed and  learn more in the forum . So, friends  i will like to see how you felt at your first merits if you can make out time to share with me thanks.
The merits I received helped me “feel” that ranking on the forum is quite real and feasible, and with that, high ranks. At the beginning, with the advent of the merit system, this seemed almost unattainable to me and therefore I didn't even try to make an effort. The merits I received helped me understand and gain faith in the achievability of higher ranks and this pushed me to act, and actions in turn brought results.

I'm still pleased to see that my merit counter has increased (this is not a request or begging :)), but the effect of this is not the same as before. Perhaps due to the fact that after 1000 merits there is no exact number to which one would like to strive (new rank). Therefore, the immediate goals for accumulating merit are round numbers (nice merit records).

maybe people who are in the legendary rank will feel normal when they get merit, but if i see that my post gets merit from someone, it is like motivation to me that my post feels appreciated and useful for other people. and with this, it can encourage me to be able to contribute more to the forum and provide the best posts i can.

The easy answer here is it feels great receiving merits since you know that your post is receiving some kind of recognition from other members who think that it is some what quality or helpful to them, Also it would help you rank up whatever so it's great to see every time you get one that you're getting at least progress to what you're doing, I mean if you're doing great post it's going to be a great motivation for the most part even though it wasn't really good to make merits your motivation but it's surely going to boost your productivity in my opinion.

For sure for some high rank members it wouldn't really going to matter anymore since they already have a lot of it, and they not going to rank up anymore but still in my opinion it's a good thing that they getting merit as some kind of commends because of there helpful post for sure. Personally, I do love to get more merits, but not every post surely is going to get one, but just boosts most of my posts motivating me to do more quality posts because there are people here who appreciate my posts. So I think we should get merits to someone who deserves it if we think that they are useful, or they do a helpful post we should give them merits to commend them.

And also we that feeling that it's a big achievements when you are having merits cause the more merit's you have it will show yourself here in our community. Like the top 10 merits earners they earn a lot of merits as they contributed well her win our community they share their knowledge to everyone of us in order to grow.

Generally getting merits at the beginning of your journey on the forum brings so much joy. But as we progress it becomes a normal occurrence. Nevertheless earning merit is still important to me because it helps me to evaluate my post quality and performance in the forum. Each time I earn a merit I usually go back to the post to read the content because I am just curious why someone liked it. I still feel happy each time I earn merit because it shows that I have contributed something meaningful to the forum. My merit history for 120 days also serves as a feedback tool to check how well I have fared in these months.

When you are new to the forum, you will keep on imagining how people that are receiving merits are getting it, but it’s not really difficult, just calm yourself down and be ready to learn, keep on making quality posts to support the forum and forum users and you will be surprise that you will be receiving merit.

But when you are desperate look for merit, and you are not ready to learn, then you will just keep on viewing high rank profiles, but you will never receive any merit.

lastly, my first post was not merited and the feeling is not something I can say here, but I was still very curious and anxious to learn how to earn merits then, my second post was merited and that was when I felt that am beginning to understand the forum because i was very excited at my first merit even when I know that I don't have much merits now but that first feeling gave me hope that I will succeed and  learn more in the forum .
Sometimes you will receive merit from a post which you never believed you are going to get merit from, so don’t even expect merit from any of your post, just be making quality post, any of your post that’s important to anyone, the person will merit it.

The first merit gives good energy. I have even forgotten how I felt back then, but I know the feeling was good, and it gave me a lot of zeal to strive for more good and to put energy into being more productive.

Currently, I no longer feel much of it when I earn new merit. Where I focus and gain new joy from now is that happiness that comes with earning enough merit that qualifies you for your next rank, even before your activity could get there.

I have been lucky to enjoy that joy and privilege during my rank up to SNR and hero member rank. Now, the next curiosity I have in mind is how I will feel when I make my qualified merit for the last rank of the forum.

At first the first time when you received merit (s) you will be very most excited but at time goes, you will not have that feeling of excitement again because probably you have received enough merits so you don't have that emotion but see it as a normal. And I think everyone has that happiness in their first set of merit. And frankly speaking merit is the motivator in the forum and when one received merits, he or she would have that motivation to do more quality posts to receive more.

Merit is given to quality posts so whenever one received it makes hin to do well. And mostly when the person is newbie, Jr Member, Member, Full Member and Sr. Member but from Hero Member tht is of excitement is not strong as the above rank members. Although there is excitement at all levels but the lower ranks are more happier.

Studying the posts of high ranked members is a good way to learn how to post on the forum. Fillippone is one of the top contributors to the community, following his work will surely help you improve. Remember, there can be only one Fillippone and there can be only one YOU. Learn what you can from others but be yourself. Express your thoughts the way only you can, your authenticity will be your best asset.

lastly, my first post was not merited and the feeling is not something I can say here,

Bear in mind that not all your posts are going to get merits even if they are good posts.

The first merit we got from our post or reply will  be the most memorable merit, I mean, not all members here, but mostly, commonly yes.
You know, sometimes, we got our first merit in the unexpected post. I also did the same, got my first merit  in a very unexpected post from a legendary member. And this really could change my mind that everyone could deserve any merits, what to do is to make much better and better posts, learning more things to improve our posts.

No need to be such scared or even disappointed when we still don't get any merits. Just make much better posts, because sometimes, members will give you merits in certain post, based on the view of the member itself.

The next thing you have to do when you get your first merit is to be grateful for it, then become even more enthusiastic about making better and more contributive posts to the forum. Make this a motivation that you also deserve to get merits.

That's the right way to go about it (learning from others). They say to be successful, one should study those who are successful in that field one's going into, and then one should add sparks and style to it. This is akin to standing on the shoulders of giants to see far.

On the merit thing, of course the first few merits received would create a level of excitement but as time goes on and the merit continues to pour in, that excitement of getting them begins to wane. I felt that rush too, especially merit that enabled me move through the ranks.

I feel nothing when receiving merits right now and in the future however, as other forum members have explained about the first merit earned then I would also say that it is emotional since it is the first merit that you earn merit. It would also served as a motivation for earning more merits. You would also think to yourself that if I received merit then that means I can write a good/high quality posts that deserves a merit. You don't have to be afraid as you have explained and it's much better if you continue joining discussions to learn more and forum members would also be able to give you an advice.

It feels way different from when I was a jrn member ; back then, I had alot of determination to achieving several ranks so I worked for it. I really wanted to know how it feels to be a hero member and probably, a legendary... I don't see any much difference anyway.

I'd say; What really matters to me right now would be my reputation until whenever.. secondly, for the fact that merits are awarded strictly on how people tend to like a person in particular... It's weird how everything's changed and the memories are just like yesterday.

I will say the feeling changes with time and rank. Accounts that have a rank ahead of them tend to be more excited about merits than those with legendary rank. IMO the pressure to get merits reduces when one become legendary member. I don’t remember who gave me my first merits and for what post but I do remember the members that supported me during my newbie days.

Every member have a level and story to tell. Still growing my account and I must say, all these years and months spent in the forum, really achieved alot and its good to watch ourselves growing taller. It can be easier to be on the winning side accompanied by hardwork and consistency in the good structural works. The feelings is always different and straight forward, atleast it gives hints on transforming into a upgraded level forum member. We know how important this is and the necessities it have become for us.

Indeed, that's nice of you.

Since I reached 1,000 merits, and if I remember correctly, someone also gave me the missing ones at once, I've felt receiving merits like quite routine, but I was already looking forward to seeing the 2,000, which although they do not involve acquiring any higher level, they are a cool round number.

If any post gets merit, then please be happy because the quality of the post is good and the post is informative, but some other member has given merit to that post or comment. Merit is very valuable and it is not so easy to get, when you post or make a comment the post and comment must be informative so that some other member can benefit or learn something new by reading your post or comment. When another member learns something new by reading your post, he will definitely try to give you credit. You have enough merit in your profile yet you will love it if you get merit in your post. Because getting merit is always exciting and enjoyable.

Merit is a sweetener in this forum, although not worth cash per unit but can be very useful, especially motivation to post better and get account stability according to recorded activities.

Speaking of quality, yes, it varies;
  • some prioritize content, even though it is short, concise and clear.
  • Some prioritize story telling so that the discussion of 1 to another is so harmonious to learn.
  • Some include detailed source links even though they come from outside the forum.
  • There are those who review fun and provide good benefits for everyone
  • etc

You and I and even all forum people here have different styles of speaking, and different patterns of thinking about a subject or interest. Do what you feel comfortable saying while keeping the rules as a wise poster. By the way congratulations on your current merit, I've also been in your position. and you have the opportunity to get a higher rank over time.

I also sometimes feel awkward if there is a discussion that is very serious and beyond my knowledge, and I prefer to enjoy the work of these great contributors. Even if I don't participate in the same thread, one day I will need it either in this forum or in real life. This forum for me has a lot of meaty material that can be accounted for every data truth. I assume this is a long-term positive effect of merit as well.

As newbies it's usually emotional and sometimes very exciting when you first get your first merit on a post in the forum and it's a very normal feeling as almost everyone even upto the legendary ranking was once at that point where they had that emotions and excitement on their first merit but what is most important is in you learning and improving yourself on the forum, if you get merited on a post, after your moment of emotions and excitement it's very important go back to your post and study that particular post, observe the pattern and the content of the post that attracted such merits so later in the future you can easily get merited by improving even more on that pattern with a better content.

Most times your merit is usually results from your contents, the quality and the constructive nature of such post because sometimes you may have good quality but because your posting construction isn't good enough, you may not sound reasonable enough to attract merit because the content of the post may have not been understood properly by readers.

I think everyone would have gone through this phobia of not getting the merit points to your posts.many people delay to start just because of this shit that whether they'll be liked on the platform or not but if we continue posting helpful posts than merit us not a big issue. Never judge something that you have not done because you cannot reach the right decision unless you try it out.

Once people will start they should  make up their mind that they'll not get that much reward and it'll require plenty of hard work, so that when you'll reach success soon it'll boost your confidence and if I'm any case it takes time you'll not end up in demotivation as you already made up your mind before starting.

if i don't get merited its okay because we all know that if you make a good post it will be merited by people who appreciate it, at the same time maybe the post is not much informative or maybe some already have posted almost same topic etc.,
having not been given a merit we should always improve the way we post if its out goal, we should not be feel bad of the situation, remember not all post are given merit, but to not feel disappointed just don't expect merit.

Everyone's story is really inspiring and funny also because in my story I used to think merits are something that can only be bought and those who have earned it, must have some kind of link to the admins/forum and that's how they might get their merits. Well, but when I got to know that I have a local community here, I started to read their posts and made one post that got merit, then I realized about it (it is funny because I was not into writing posts back then I was only into bounty).

I got the first merit and I was shocked due to the misconception I had, but everytime I receive merit my joy has no place, especially on the posts that I made in replies, although there are times when you receive no merits but only appreciation and there are times when you don't receive merits at all, and you made a good effort in writing that topic. But yeah, getting merits is so uncertain and unsure on this forum because your one point can make place in someone else's heart and they can give you merit (if they have any, otherwise they will only appreciate).

Hmmm right!

This is absolutely the right way, man. It will give you a lot of benefits. You should learn from your seniors. Your opinion is completely based on the facts. Look at the style of the big ranks member, how he describes the matter, and how he presents the matter to the people in posts that are based on.

So learning from the big ranks method can give you success, I myself have learned from the big ranks members of my community that the best way to do a post And by following this, I have been able to earn merit by posting.

So it means that following big ranks can make you a great member, that is, you can earn merits and achieve high rank by following the same pattern.

Currently, if my post or replies have been merited, I don't feel some special because it is something that has been happening for a long time now, but the only moment I feel so special about earning merit was the first day my post was merited. I feel so excited that in the full day my face was full of smiles, and I believe that most members are special and happy when they first earn their first merits, but continuing to earn merits will not be that excited someone may be compared to the first merit earned. The only time I always feel that special again is when I rank up to another new rank, so the last merits I always earned for my new rank always make me so special.

Merit is the most important factor that motivates members of this forum to read posts diligently because it arouses emotions. This is especially true for newbies; if they consistently respond to messages and make reasonable trades but still have no merit, someone will erroneously award them one, which will undoubtedly cause happiness and encouragement. "Merit" is a stimulant.

That is when I knew that one need to keep writing something that is useful and genuine for one to keep getting merits not passing the wrong information to others. It feels good to get merit and that is what many newbies had been trying their possible best to keep getting even when they are writing less posts to deserve a merit. We need to check what others are writing to get merits so we don't keep deceiving ourselves of looking for merit

Sometimes merit I actually encourage people to continue learning, pushing, pressing hard etc. but I have come to realized that the more you keep posting or replying to be earn merit the more you keeping not earning or having it  and I think most important thing is knowing why you are here and doing what you are suppose to do.

You guys were lucky to have been around the forum before the implementation of the merits system and of course being able to blend through the system since you have it lay before you to learn everything about the merit system from beginning, unlike some of us who are still new to the forum and met the merits system on ground we did not have the opportunity of having merits airdrops but all the same we are favoured by other forum member who awarded us with merits to achieve and get to where we are right now.

I can say I am one of the luckiest member, because as a newbie then, some merits source and other forum members motivated me alot by giving me multiple merits beyond my imagination, on just a single thread, that action build the motivations in me to push forward in creating good contribution to discussion, and up till my current rank, I have enjoy such love from this forum.

Merits is what determined how quality your post is and how creative you are, otherwise anyone who doesn't make merits show how low his post is or maybe he doesn't post on a regular board because I believe there are boards that attracts merits such as, for example Local board is another place to grow more quickly than any other board here.

Actually earning merits is not hard is just for people to follow topic according and contribute greatly unlike generating random comment, watch clearly those who don't complain about merits easily earned merits because they know how to flow the merit system and they can easily grow without hardship of merits, I think only those who are desperate of growing and joining some paid campaign are the people who usually complain about merits being so difficult to earn and grow. I have personally seen some profile that was created after the meritocracy yet have grown above lots of us here this is to show this dude knows what they are doing to keep growing than just looking for cheap place to fly to the next rank.

In a normal circumstances whenever you earn a merit at early stage of you be in the forum, you will rejoice because you have been motivated, so what I'm saying in nutshell is that merit gives motivation to the beginners but when you have cross the stage of full member getting to a senior member you will be also be conscious to reach the rank of senior members, so their no point of forum rank you will earn a merit you will not be excited because merit is the engine house of forum motivation

. So, friends  i will like to see how you felt at your first merits if you can make out time to share with me thanks.
Whenever I received merits, I always get joy because merits are encouraging users to keep the good work they have started, because when you post quality content, you will receive merits and the merits will encourage you to do further research in order to come up with a quality content that is better than the one you posted earlier.

This dose not mean that merit is everything in this forum because when some newbies come to the forum, they are after merits because they have monitored some reputable members account and found a lot of merits in their accounts which triggered them to look for merits too. It is a motivation but rushing to accumulate merits is not the main aim of the forum because the merits system was created to reduce spam and to make the forum clean.

Before i started making a post or replies as a newbie, I explored the forum and I saw different usernames and ranks with so many earned merits and post counts, at first i was confused and very scared because I don't know when I will get a single merit not to talk about multiple merits of the legendary ranks.
Everyone here has passed through this stage also in their first time, because even me too the first day I was introduced to this wonderful forum I was totally confused that where will start from. When I saw the forum instructions and the numbers of the merit's I need to earned and also post count before rank up I was very quick and weak, because I even exaggerating it that when and which will earned up to this amount of merit talkless of become like others members here. But with much reaserch and patient and guidelines of so many of user's here have make everything becomes very easier today.

This show that you didn't come here to joke you really want to face what brought you here, because any newbie that really want to understand how this forum operates. The best place to go through are pasted thread that provides from some of our members here  is from there you can pick some of the keys points and also how you can able to create your topics or when it come to post you will know how to arrange your post well without receive any criticism from any of the members in this forum.

Haha.. firstly so many posts these days related to the merits... anyway..

....
So, friends  i will like to see how you felt at your first merits if you can make out time to share with me thanks.

Although we all have seen the starting journey on the Bitcointalk forum and no doubt the feeling of getting first merit ever is the best feeling which we can not compare with any other getting merits feeling I am not saying that getting other merits not feel good my mean of saing is that the first earned merits have the seperate feelings. On the same side, buddy do not overthink just write what you want to say some will like your point of view and some will not, and that's the fact you should only care about those who respect your words, your struggling phase. Just be yourself and try to do quality posting, which will help you grow further.

I also have seen members and one of my community members representing the same feeling of getting his first earned merit. These feelings motivate you to make more quality posts and make you active in discussions with unique and quality replies. In this way, your account health starts to go up slowly and slowly. There is a famous saying."Slow but steady wins the race" Just stay active and keep contributing to the forum with quality and informative content.

Yes the first merit you receive is really a memorable one more especially when it comes from a legendary. When I came into the forum I wasn't really attracted to earning merits because I felt it would take time for merit sources to come through my posts because I was new to the forum, I just make few posts after spending so much time reading other users posts and having an understanding of what the discussion is all about then i also give my own opinion and logs out until a day i came online and opened my profile just to see 4 merits by a staff of the forum EFS (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=140584) i was so excited and that motivated me to give more quality contributions to the forum and till today i have been very active in the forum as i have never missed a day without login in since then even if I'm not making any post. It was a day I couldn't forget because earning merit from a staff of the forum is like a president giving you a handshake for a job well done. I improved my post quality, my reasoning ability and my interactions in the forum and up till date I have recorded some huge success in the forum and I'm glad I joined this forum of intellectual individuals with high level of knowledge about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

I felt nothing different with what you just said and I think that was what motivated me to keep on pushing (learning, studying, making adjustment etc) and sometimes merit is what tells someone they are actually improving and it also give hope. Imagine posting everyday and you made up to 100's of post or more and yet no merit, you will be so depressed and discouraged, I think merit is a reminder which tell someone that he/she is understanding the forum.

Merit alone can tell how far you have made progress in the forum. Without getting merits, one will continue to think that he is not good enough in the forum since his posts have not been acknowledged by his co members in the forum. But it also goes to show that one should exert more efforts to leave an impact to others, because once your posts become meaningful and beneficial for others, receiving merits will easily follow then.

Normally the first merit always bring joy and smiles to someone's face regardless and that will show that yes someone is really growing and you have started understanding the forum because it is only when you understand the forum you can earn merit because you the area and pour to hit. Reading higher rank thread will make one to have understanding concerning this forum but it takes wisdom to restrategize and bounce back to do exploit because what will favor the higher rank member may not favor you that is why it is good to restrategize and there are people who read higher rank threads yet they don't grow or improve because they don't understand.

The first merit you earn may give you so much joy but there is a greater joy when you keep getting merits in your pots or replies it shows how better and improved you are becoming, a lot of people get so much merit when they are yet to understand the forum but they are merited because of the information they passed correctly and the level of they have even before becoming a member here. Sometimes people do not only get merit because they know so much about the forum but the uniqueness of their style and the level of vocabulary they use in writing makes some people to reward them with merits. Learning helps to improve the knowledge of people so yes reading the threads of other higher rank members can help to improve the knowledge of a member but making personal research helps  member to understand better.

The merit was said to been a tool for to reduce the amount of spammers on the forum and it did serve its purpose but the merit  has been treated on the forum has an incentive for doing a great job and this seriously gives people goosebumps. Yes for reputable member who have tons of merit they don’t feel anybody currently but as a newbies whom is looking to become like the top or reputable members they find every merit as an asset which wen gotten is seriously appreciated. Just like how social media have like button or the rest. And how it makes people feel is the same way the merit makes one’s feel.

My first merit was a thing of appreciation and I cherished it so well and it definitely made me wanted to do more posts and get more of it, to grown in the forum one needs this merits and as such it’s worth the fun. If you post everyday and fail to get the merit I think it will definitely get discourage about this

Though there is that joy that comes from people when they see that they have gotten themselves merit. But that doesn't last for long because human being are insatiable. They must surely want to continue to get more. Merit mean many thing to different people. some people merit is like life which if they don't have on regular basis it will look like they are not adding any meaningful contribution to the forum. While some use merit as a form of fast Growth to rank up and find a better campaign. So merit has different functions.

Actually I felt extremely happy the first time I get marrit because I never thought or imagine that I will be giving marit anytime soon, and I was not even worried about getting marrit because I strongly believe that some day it will definitely get to my turn, so I just focused in learning about how the forum works and also learning about crypto Investment because the main reason why we are here is to learn about Cryptocurrency, and also how it works those merit we get are just things that is been attached, though is very important because without them our account can not be promoted.

Merits gives people more energy and spirit to post more because it isn't easy here to get merit, and even if your posts are of high quality, you will find it very difficult to get Merits here, therefore, when ever you get merits by a person, you will seem to go through the posts over and over again  to see how unique that post is to be able to generate you a merit. This is what I do every time I'm being merited,it is an extra strength being given to you and an encouragement that your posts are of good quality. But some persons, merit doesnt make them feel any happy or sad,it's just normal.

Merits are basically appreciation that you get for the posts that you make in the forum, and to be honest, the amount of happiness also depends on the fact that the person who has given you merits. When you get merited from a well-known, reputable, and trusted member of the forum, you feel privileged and happy for them to appreciate you for what you have contributed, at least I feel that way, but I'm not sure about others.

When it comes to ranking up, I know it's a requirement because you can't have a higher rank if you don't get merits but that doesn't mean you should only focus on getting merits. If you know, things that you try really hard to get will give you a hard time, and it's always better that you do what you like doing and things will come to you naturally.

I am a Full member when forum started to use the merit system and I thought that, what the hell I will stuck as Full member forever. It's shame to admit that before the merit system appearance, I consider myself as a spammer. The merit system changed me, it forced me to spend more time to learn, thinking and write good posts. Many months later, I ranked up from Full member to Hero member as you see now.

Happiness is biggest when I firstly ranked up to Senior member rank because earning my first 150 merits is very difficult. A next rank up to Hero member rank does not give me that same feeling.

I am still far from Legendary, about 170 more merit but I feel like recent months, it is harder to earn merit. It will be time for me to feel exciting if I just receive merit for my posts.

Not much really, maybe in terms of how many merits would be given to me, that's the time that I would be surprised. It's not really something big of a deal as time goes by when you get your merits because the only one that matters is that last one merit that would help you get to the next rank. Maybe that's just me but I can see why merit can help some people feel good about themselves and the post that they've put in, I mean that's a show of appreciation by a stranger and there's no better feeling than having strangers agree with you on something or that they like what you're talking about.

I think, many users experienced this first merit as a newbies then and it make them feel they have won award from a particular organization, because they understood, that is what make users to increase their account in the forum. Once you got that first merit from the users in the forum, it will definitely change you positively, because is a something you cannot buy from the forum when you have the money but you only get the merit from users in the forum based on the quality post you made in the forum. That is the right way to rank up in this forum by carrying out some research to have the knowledge of cryptocurrency, which it will help you to demonstrate some quality post in some thread that will make users to know that you have the knowledge of cryptocurrency.

This is what my expression looks like

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/05/26/LM0Ra.jpeg

It was very meaningful and gave me pleasure until about 2 hours after getting the merit notification (I used the Telegram Notification Bot (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5248878.0) from TryNinja)....in less than 24 hours, I started to get a little urge to learn something extra because I felt I found a door to make Useful posts and get more merit. The enthusiasm will give way again when after a few days I don't get merit, until I feel like I'm not successful enough to make consistent posts like that.

For me, it is the best morale booster to be more active in this forum. However, the relay must be connected immediately to maintain that enthusiasm.

Getting Merits can indeed be another motivation for members to provide better things and continue to exist in the forum.
especially if you are approaching a rank increase, perhaps the feeling of excitement will be even greater. This is an achievement that not all members can achieve. although actually when beginners have interest and persistence the chances are actually the same. there is a chance to earn Merit and rank up.
keep your spirits up and I hope you will rise in rank as soon as possible.

You're absolutely right I could remember my first time of getting merit in this forum, at first I was super excited because that's my first time of getting merit is like a new thing to me. however after getting this merit I was really motivated I was working very hard then, indeed merit motivates members to provide a good things like making a very lengthy and quality post, bringing opinions that is very meaningful. However merit encourage us  to work more harder so that we can be able to move to higher level.

Truly a beautiful moment when you are rewarded for your merit. No doubt the first to be rewarded for his merits could not deny that the feeling was bad. When you are rewarded with merit you will be more motivated and strive to do better so that you can earn more merit in future. Really inspired me a lot when I got the first merit and after that my confidence level increased a lot. Personally I think when you get merit one thing motivates you which I feel in myself, when you get merit award you move up a rank. For the next rank up you must be working hard here and developing your talent so that you can become a big talented elder member later.

Yes it is. Earning merits from your post and receive wonderful feedbacks are like something a music in your ears that you want to learn more so you can post more useful information and continue to receive merits. Aside that it creates good motivation, it also pushes yourself to be your best version so that you can give out the best in you that others may benefit and learned from you. And when it happens, your rank position will also level up as well.

This post really made me smile.

And reading some comments, I realized some people started very curious about merit, while I was just shocked at my first.

The very first merit was a very shock to me because I was in my very few weeks of joining the forum.

While being cautious with what to post because I was still going through Learnmeabitcoin, not to make a mistake that would bring my account banned, I came across the topic.

I sincerely wrote what I could have just advice someone physical if the topic was brought to me.

And I got merited; I was like, What did I even write? Is it not just advice? Someone merited me for this? Wow, it was such a shock to me.

I had a mixed-up feeling, which I can't really explain because I wasn't curious about merit; I was just learning and being careful.

I was really grateful, but I never knew how to appreciate the one who merited me too.

And each time I come online, seeing my 1 merit I feel excited and encouraged to do more.

Merit refers to the quality and competence of a user. Usually only those posts are given merit if the post quality of a user is enlightening and informative. If someone's post is not enlightening or if the post is not acceptable to all other users, then those posts are not given merit or deserve merit. But I was so happy to get merit in my first post that I felt like I had gained something else valuable. Merit in this forum is very important for changing a user's rank. A quality full user can easily change his rank quickly by earning merit through his own skills.

Earn merit in our post its most emotional because some one appreciate with our ideas and make us more motivate in the future for increasing most highest level of post or replies. Firstly when merit system adopted in bitcointalk forum I got stuck and difficult for earning merit but need working hard how to increase our qualities post to make the other user interested for sending merit. Its so excited when opening the bitcointalk account and looking the merit amount suddenly increasing after other user send us merit point not only emotional our account easily grow up to higher level but also most emotional when some one give positive feedback for us.

Some time we need working hardly how to earn merit not enough with good post qualities but also looking an opportunity which one sub board active for sending merit, must adapt well with every difference topic discussion in bitcointalk forum for earning merit points and make us get consistency active in this forum.

Depending on your forum rank, there are different feelings whenever you receive merit. As a newbie I was practically working hard for merits and the merits were coming. Anytime I log into the foum, I will just go check if my merit count has increased and if it increases, I will be so happy and motivated.

But at a time this feelings slowed down. It was not longer merit it focused, but quality focused. I began to find some ways to be useful to the forum. That was when I began to create threads that were like guides for newbies. By this time I did not have any special feeling when merits come my way.

Getting the first merit point was a big achievement for me. Its fillings were indescribably delightful. It felt like I could actually contribute something to the forum. I was feeling very proud and had a lot of peace in my mind. Because of this my interest in the forum has been greatly increased.
We all get proud of ourselves and even get more excited once we have seen our posts getting merits. Aside from the motivation that we get, it’s also like a realization for us that everything gets better in time if you have the courage and determination to learn at a consistent basis. Just be patient throughout the process, and you will eventually see the good results of your hardwork and persistency to learn. Getting merits seems like a heaven for me, that feeling when you think everything really paid off in the end as long as you are consistent enough on reaching your goals in the forum.

So, friends  i will like to see how you felt at your first merits if you can make out time to share with me thanks.
First merits are most meaningful and emotional, later merits don't bring big emotion than very first merits.

Only difference for very last merits that can help an account to rank up raise my emotion up.
The truth here is that your first merit meant a lot to you, and you felt very emotional and happy because you felt recognized in the forum and again you felt also that you have contributed positively and that you have impacted to people in one way or the other. merits might be emotionless unlike what you felt the first day, but the idea is that the initial anticipation suggest quality and it is a way to make you understand that the forum is actually a place to learn. there is also another time of joy when you want to move from one rank to another rank, no one wants to be stagnant in a particular position and that is why there is enough joy when you earn your first merit and when you move from newbie to junior member and that same joy applies when you move from junior member to member and other ranks accordingly. In all, the most important thing is that there was an excitement at every first merit earned and when we are moving to another rank.

How do I feel? Happy. Exhilarated. It's like I was able to meet the target audience and still get rewarded for it  ;D..These days, it takes one a lot of patience to not get frustrated when posts don't get merited, especially when it has rich content and also of you are needing to rank up.
When I started out on the forum, I'd get a tad jealous when I see that shiny green beneath a user's name indicating they've been merited and I tried so hard to get it. I still feel that dopamine rush when I get merited though, dunno if anyone has outgrown this feeling.

Does low quality posts earn merits? If people give you merits, it means your work was good and they appreciate it. It is one thing to be happy for and not even because of the ranking up. When I first joined the forum, I kept wondering why members still give legendary members merits when those legendary members have already reached the highest ranking level. Then it occurred to me that those legendary members have been giving out quality posts consistently to the forum and one way to show them we love what they do is by giving them merits for the job well done. I don't know if those merits mean anything to them but all quality posters deserve merits for the extra efforts they put in creating such posts.

First time I earned a merit in the forum,  I felt recognised.  It wasn't really easy blending in the forum as a newbie, but that first merit was a big motivation for me to keep pushing. Once a newbie and now a senior member. I don't think i would have the motivation to keep pushing if I had no merit since I joined this forum till now. It would appear to me like I am impacting nothing to the forum.

I think most people have this same experience in their journey here at first but later adapt to the system as times goes on. For someone to attain the rank of full member simply means that the person has fully adapt to the community by either offering solutions or raising a reasonable discussion for members to deliberate and ponder on. Experience plays an important role in any field and a full member and above ranks have a bit of this experience, making a useful and helpful posts is highly expected from them.

Quote
lastly, my first post was not merited and the feeling is not something I can say here, but I was still very curious and anxious to learn how to earn merits then, my second post was merited and that was when I felt that am beginning to understand the forum because i was very excited at my first merit even when I know that I don't have much merits now but that first feeling gave me hope that I will succeed and  learn more in the forum . So, friends  i will like to see how you felt at your first merits if you can make out time to share with me thanks.

It's a normal thing to see some of your posts in fact, many of your posts not merited. Most if not all would be in legendary rank now if every post we make should be merited. It's not because they are not merit worthy but because everyone is entitled to make use of their smerit as they wish. The first day I received a merit, I felt so special as if I own the world. Not only here in the forum but even outside here, whenever you do something in your community and receive appreciation you'll definitely feel special and honored. It's the same feeling here when you make contribution and the post receive merit.

Hmm that's pretty good to discuss!
At the first when I became a member of this forum, I mean when I registered here, I always think that only merit is good things Apart from this, if I used to see an empty reply or opposition, then I used to consider it as meaning less and I myself was in this struggle about how to get merit on the post. And thus, when I got merit, I used to do postings very happily, but when I didn't get merit, I was demotivated, After that, I became a full member, but merit greed was still there, But when I became a senior member, I understood that this forum Being connected does not mean getting merit but it means learning some knowledge, whether you get merit or not.

So after that I started participating in discussions with consistency, and I gained a lot of merit along with learning a lot.

The feeling of earning first merit is really happy. As far as I remember I earned first merit in my 25th post. But not only the first merit, even the Legendary members are happy if they earn merit in their comments or posts. Because earning merit means that you have done something useful for the forum which is encouraged by others. As a result, the Inspiration to do something good for the forum will increase.

My first merits feel similar to all the other merits that I have gotten over the years.

I enjoy every merit that I get because it feels good to be appreciated. And the merit system is quite well-rounded to avoid abuse or devaluation.

I don't have a clear answer to this question because I haven't received any special merit. But, I will say that when I got merit for the first time, I was very happy. I can do something.
Maybe it's very difficult to get merit or maybe my posts and comments are not of high quality to be merited so I don't know much about it but all the merits I got, I'm very happy about it. A motivation has arisen to make myself active in this forum.

Remember, competence is not the only measure of value. Your engagements and contributions are valuable in themselves. Keep sharing your ideas, learning from others, and enjoying the support of the community.

I worked so hard before the top ranked members acknowledge my presence and consistent posts of threads. It was never each but reaching this far, it's quite something for me to be proud of. Merits are rare and difficult to get nowadays, everything is changing so fast and this is no appropriate technique for the newbies coming it, everything will be stressful for them because they're just trying their best to cope with the rules governing bitcoin talk forum.

Appreciation is always good, in every era, there is no age limit for everyone, be it children or adults, whoever is praised gets happiness and when merits are found on your posts, it means that you deserve to have your writing appreciated. When your abilities are appreciated, you are motivated to do more and have more enthusiasm.

The merit system on this forum highlights the beauty and uniqueness of this forum mainly. One of the main reasons for keeping this forum clean is the merit system available to it. Everyone knows that if they post useless crap all the time, they will not get any merit. That is why everyone is careful in writing and this has made the forum a better place for those of us who wanted it to be clean from spam and spammers.

In this area, I have learnt to be patient and work strategically to get any merit I have here. Sometimes I would have to creat topics and post them in a special board designed or created by one of the top most merit sources here and while I cross my fingers to get merits for the job done, I also have to pray that my post get the deserved amount of merits for me to grow and attain a better rank.

It actually feels good when I get some merits after a while and I must concur that the feeling comes mostly from knowing that one is growing and making better post of quality or comments of quality and thus getting more familiar without much ado, the ethics and conducts to be of quality representation.

At this point, merits still make me happy, but not as much as when I was about to rank up. I think that it's obvious.

And yet I have to admit that what makes me happier now is not the fact that someone thought that my pizza, translation or simple reply was worthy of merit, but the fact that I have sMerits to share with others who deserve or need them more than me.

I wish something similar would happen with money: the world would be a much better place to live.

I totally understand how you feel  i must say you're such a nice and kind hearted person, people like you are supposed to be nominated as the president of a particular country, because your ideas and capability can transform a country, because you don't only think about your success you Also think about the success of other people, for this reasons i think you can make a good leader if you're given the opportunity just keep up the good works.

Getting a merit is one of the difficult thing in this forum. Before you can make a post that someone will have to merit you is not too easy. Honestly I will feel so happy and appreciative to see that my post or replies earn a merit. Some people make more 50 post and replies yet never earn merit. I will consider myself to have been doing well to see any of my post or replies earn merit.

Getting merit from a post or replies is always a thing of Joy, is obvious that everyone will always be happy whenever time they receive merit from their post/replies. However i could remember the first time i received merit in my reply, Joy overwhelmed me when i received the merit, because i wasn't expecting it anytime soon all of a sudden it just pop up, after receiving the merit i was motivated to work more harder so that i can keep earning merit.

If only the whole world will have the same mindset like you, people will never suffer anymore but will live their life conveniently. However, reality hits that there will be more greedy around that are more possessive with money and title, and they think sharing their money to everyone is the last thing they would do.

When it comes to earning merits, I’m still happy and excited every time I earned some. And as long as the eagerness and motivation to participate in the forum is present, earning merits will always make me happy and proud, most especially if you come to share it with other deserving members in the forum.

Being too excited and happy about getting merits is more of a newbie thing but when you pass that stage of a newbie you will see getting merit as a part of your quality contributions to topics and making replies as excitement will not be attached to it again unlike when you were growing your account. I also had same feelings of joy and motivation when I earned my first merit because it made me feel that am making efforts in the forum especially when the Merit came from a legendary rank. As time goes I began to see it as normal and excitement didn't follow it again so that is just to tell us that life is in stages because there are sometimes when you will get excited about an achievement and there are also times when your achievements will no longer excite you again.
