Title: Poll: What Crypto coin would you prefer in a skill game
Post by: JackpotRacer on March 27, 2024, 08:44:50 PM
Hey all

I am working on a skill game that is only played in 24 hour tournaments. There will be a leaderboard that will be updated in real time and at the end of the tournament the first or more players in the leaderboard will win a crypto prize. In the beta phase the entry will be free.

My question to the members here is which crypto coin would you prefer to be used in such tournaments, please vote in the poll for your preferred coin.

Let me tell you what I had in mind when I started the development

FUNToken or Sats/Lightning

Let me know if you have a coin in mind that is not listed in the poll that you think would be best.

I may change to a different coin every day or week, depending on the participants' wishes and feedback.

Please refrain from personal attacks and insults.

Thank you very much.

Why are there no any stable coin among? Some gamblers prefer coins that are pegged with fiat.

If I should choose, I will prefer sats/lightning. It has cheap fee and the transaction is very fast. There are many exchanges that is supporting lightning network by now and also there are some easy-to-understand wallets that you can keep small amount of it.

Since you didn’t mention anything about the type of tournament all we know is that is has to do with “skill” and only asked about the crypto prefer then let me just add my 2 cents.

I voted for TRX, due to the low gas fee that’s need to transact it and also the speed but is there any reason why you didn’t add “USDT” to the list? It would be nice if you add it, as it will give those voting more options to choose from.

TRX is fine considering the transaction fees which is relatively low. Other coins listed there are also fine but seems TRX is more popular and acceptable by many. FUNToken would have been perfect base on the name and what you plan to achieve but based on the reason I gave before, TRX is perfect because the emphasis is not on the coin but the tournament. Furthermore, since you can change the coin base on popular opinion, the best option will eventually emerge when the entry will no longer be free and the game is fully launched.

Stable coins. I only want to use potential coins such as Matic, Cardano and XRP listed in the pool for trading, not for gambling at crypto casinos.
I think not everyone is interested in gambling using these coins because they can make even small profits by trading them.

I also suggest including stable coins in the pool list so that everyone can give their views on choosing stable coins.

to be frank I did not think that players would prefer USDT. but thanks for feedback

would you vote different if you would know the game? I did not think that it is important for now but to know that it is a skill game and not a game of luck.

Since it's pegged to a particular fiat amount more gamblers might be willing to jump in.  During a bull run it's tough to throw crypto into the wind when it's worth more (in fiat) than the day before.  Some gamblers get reluctant to put it into the pot and rather just hold.  Either way why does it have to be just one coin. I'd say offer more because it will open up newer markets of people for your "skill game".

I also chose TRX because of its low transaction fees. During those days when Bitcoin transaction fees were high due to the ordinal inscriptions, I tried using TRX and from them, I became comfortable with it and stopped using Bitcoin. But the problem is that some new casinos don't have more deposit options which might make one limited to only major or popular cryptos. Stablecoin is also a good option because it is less volatile and you can even decide to keep it in your casino account for a long period ( I am not encouraging keeping large sums in casinos).

I will also go with TRX, fast and the fees are not that high.

Used in many times before as my deposit and withdrawal when the Bitcoin fees are high. The rest though I haven't used, maybe except XRP, but that was many years ago.

USDT is not that bad as well for the volatility.

In my case I prefer to use Litecoin in my bets since years, this is because I see Litecoin as being ideal because it is an altcoin that has not had a big price increase or a big price drop and has a very low withdrawal rate , for example in the casino I use, which is the casino of my subscription, the minimum withdrawal fee for Litecoin is 0.00013800 Litecoin, this in USD is equal to 0.02$ so it is a very low fee, and the minimum withdrawal amount for litecoin is 0.03 litecoin which in USD is 2.90$, so it is something that pays off a lot. for example, when I want to play with just 5$, I can deposit a small amount, something like 6$ and place my bet, as in this case:

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/03/27/Vwfdm.png

If I want to cashout I could do it and I would have $3.50 in Litecoin and if I wanted to withdraw the $3.50 in Litecoin to my wallet I could withdraw it because the minimum withdrawal amount is $2.90 in Litecoin and the withdrawal fee is 0.02$ in litecoin, so this helps me a lot for a person like me who makes sports bets with very low amounts. and as I said, Litecoin is an altcoin that has not had big price increases or big price drops, so for years I have been using Litecoin as my favorite altcoin for my sports betting

In a skill game whatever crypto is fine for me and since I didn't find some of the cryptos I like to play any game including skilled games I didn't vote yet, will do later but mostly from that list I would choose USDT as it can be converted to any other crypto. In my personal way though, when I play in different casinos I use mostly Litecoin because of the very cheap and fast confirmation times whenever it is possible or Bitcoin in other cases despite having high fees it is still one of the best crypto which has the highest value and can make you play longer.I am sure if Litecoin was in the list of the poll it would surely top any other option as I believe also a lot of other gamblers are smart enough to know Litecoin benefits.

I think USDT would suffice? Low TX fees, can be processed in many different networks, fast transactions and stable value. Pretty much most things needed by a gambler.
Of course it would be good to also feature og on-chain bitcoin payments as it's the currency most people in crypto will know and use. If you're crypto-enabled it can't just be USDT for sure. I think though ultimately the best thing would be to have an in-house wallet that gives the option to show your stake in dollars or your currency of choice no matter what you have deposited to make things easier.

Stake does this for slots and they do it quite well actually, so if you want to draw inspiration from somewhere you can have a look.

I think those all would be excellent for this and rotating it with different new coins would be a really good idea, it could bring more people from other communities and encourage people to try other coins they normally wouldn't touch, and that, in bigger scale could even decrease tribalism in some people.

People get easily stuck in some specific coin because i don't have any reason to try something else. That's a starting point to maximalism and it's easy to dismiss coins that we don't use. Imho it's not healthy for the whole community, and i see essential that people should try other altcoins and play with their ecosystems. There's just often no motive for that.
Sometimes these altcoin communities see other alts as threat, and turn to clannish, and any service that would encourage to use other coins by rotating them would probably help this fear of new coins, and bring more unity to this place.

Ever since Tman left the forum I haven't really gotten to know many of the shitcoins like I once did.  He was always pitching some sort of coin he thought would pump (to be fair it's not like he didn't fully admit and acknowledge they were shitcoins with no real utility other than to make a few bucks)..but the coin I know is popular with DeFi stuff is Matic.  I sent Matic coins to the wrong chain once, took a few months to get back but binance came through for me.  So since I learned a hard lesson with Matic and have a decent handle on it, I'd probably choose that.   Curious about the details though.

I am working on a skill game that is only played in 24 hour tournaments.
I am not good at skill based games. I feel they take too much mental energy and not as thrilling as luck based but I like to try new things and will be willing to give this a trial.

USDT is perfect. It embodies all the features that I look for in an alternative to fiat. It is my first option in order when bitcoin experiences its high transaction fees. For me the order of vote are USDT, TRX, FUNToken, Sats/Lighning then others.

In addition, changing to a different coin every week instead of days will keep things interesting but then you have to pay attention to the feedback from the participants.

This alt I also voted. Aside from cheap tx fee, this alt is available in most trading platforms. This is why if the user wants to exchange this coin to other coins, he won't have any problem trading it. And it would be understandable if users will vote for this alt as a means of payment method.

Also, USDT (Tron network) would be another good option. Tx fees are quite low and available in most platforms.

To get things clear, is it something like to buy and hold coin or short term trading? I'm bit confused in here because the time frame that was suggested was 24hrs. Then if that's the case, high volatile coins will be good, ETH, BTC, BNB and such. XRP , ADA, are bit lethargic in lower time frame price action to hold and trade with. But in terms of just transferring, I would also vote for USDT could be under tron network for lower fees.

I think when it comes to gambling in a skill or non-skill game, people will usually prefer coins that they have fast and cheap transactions. This is the reason I think that most people do not prefer to gamble with bitcoin, Ethereum or even stable coins. Most of them will prefer XRP and Dogecoin (the two most popular used crypto

The fun token is only used at freebitco, i do not see it a wise approach to start a game using that token unless your game is associated with freebitco in some way.

Let me know if you have a coin in mind that is not listed in the poll that you think would be best.

I think you can also include Dogecoin and Litecoin as it is not listed in your poll but many gambling sites are offering to gamble using Doge / Litecoin. The deposit and withdrawal of both of these coins are cheaper and faster too.

When choosing the right cryptocurrency, it's important to consider transaction speed, fees and user accessibility. FUNToken is okay for fast and secure transactions and Sats/Lightning has advantage of microtransactions with minimal fees and instant settlement. Like as what majority of members are preferring, I also personally use and prefer TRX or USDT. TRX has fast transaction speeds and low fees, while for USDT, a stablecoin that provides price stability and can be particularly useful for players who prefer to avoid volatility.

I personally have actually gotten used to using stablecoins because I know there will be an upward movement in the price of bitcoin and crypto which will rise next year, so I save it for investment using stabilcoins so as not to lose value in crypto, sometimes using crypto is a bit regretful when the price is going up now, I'm a little disappointed with that so far spent a lot of crypto just to gamble and eventually the value of that crypto increased drastically. Since then until now, I prefer to use stablecoins, which are easier to use and don't lose their value.

Stablecoin on the bnb smartchain bep20 network has cheaper transaction costs or the Matic network and maybe there are even cheaper ones than that but I prefer using stablecoin on the two networks above, I'm sure everyone is happy with crypto which uses cheaper transaction costs and won't using expensive transaction fees like ETH and BTC which may have to spend a little money for transactions, I think people also prefer using stablecoins it seems because the price of crypto and bitcoin is on an uptrend and of course they will hold them as investments.

I chose TRX because I have used it until now and by using TRX coins I am satisfied with the transaction fees which are quite cheap and the usage process is fast. And the TRX coin is now familiar because TRX has entered the marketplace exchange platform and it is certain that many people already use this coin.

Thank you all for great and helpful feedback. very much appreciated.
following some answers to some postings

I'd say offer more because it will open up newer markets of people for your "skill game".

I understand your point. I have to start with one coin in the beta phase as there will be no entry fee and the prizes will come out of my pocket. Then I can think about offering a different coin for each tournament according to player feedback. This means that I cannot offer multiple coins in one tournament.

I must clarify that it will not be a casino with many games. I will offer only one game and it will be the skill game that I have in mind and that we are currently developing. It may well be that I will offer another skill game at a later date.

If I want to cashout I could do it and I would have $3.50 in Litecoin and if I wanted to withdraw the $3.50 in Litecoin to my wallet I could withdraw it because the minimum withdrawal amount is $2.90 in Litecoin and the withdrawal fee is 0.02$ in litecoin, so this helps me a lot for a person like me who makes sports bets with very low amounts. and as I said, Litecoin is an altcoin that has not had big price increases or big price drops, so for years I have been using Litecoin as my favorite altcoin for my sports betting

Thank you very much for the Litecoin lesson, much appreciated as I am not that familiar with it. I have now added it to the list for voting

All in all great and very helpful feedback and as you can see I added Litecoin and Dogecoin. To be honest, I never thought that Dogecoin would be a good choice, but we'll see and I'm happy to learn.

First I will say that for games of skill, I actually don't really like them because games like this when in an uncomfortable state of mind and atmosphere will give you tension and anxiety when playing.
Moreover, in some tournaments I will very rarely participate even though they are tournaments with quite large prizes, but so far I have never been lucky in this case and have never occasionally received prize from the tournaments I have participated in.
It just that for my mainstay crypto coin I always use Bitcoin even though the fees tend to be high, but for the best alternative I still rely on USDT which is one of the friendliest coins with fairly low fees and network that is not that congested.

This may be coin that is used by quite lot of gamblers, after all, this is also stable coin where when store it in bankroll or gambling site account balance don't need to worry about its value decreasing.
