Title: AMD 6800 XT what is profitable to mine with these video cards
Post by: Criptonakis on April 19, 2024, 04:32:04 PM
Hello everyone, until recently I was mining Qubic with my rigs with AMD 6800 XT - AMD 6900 XT cards.
I found a script that can trick the chips into being Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or RTX 3070.But at the moment we are going to change the coins, and I was wondering if there is anything that comes out in profit after the current??

thanks

You can find famous coins on hashrate.no
https://hashrate.no/gpus/6800
In summer, double mining has always been a problem on standard mining rigs due to overheating.
With new coins I won't give advice because many of them will be forgotten. In the meantime, I’m choosing algorithms with lower power consumption.

I'm using a script with which I can change from AMD to NVIDIA, but I don't think there's much steam left after the current

This doesn't sound true because manufacturers use completely different technologies. RTX 3070 and AMD 6800 XT graphics cards give the same profit in mining on different coins and AMD looks more energy efficient in mining. I don't see the point of using additional scripts.

Nothing is profitable nowadays so what I would suggest mine a coin that you believe to have a bright future and make some of them, you can also change in different coins that you believe as you may believe in different coins. You can also mine other coins and exchange them in the coins you believe, there is the only way to make this card profitable in the long run as for nowadays I keep running my GPU with 2 x 3060 ti and I am mining Raptoreum because that is the coin I believe in from the alt coins and the card consume less energy, options are there, you just have to be creative.

Multiple graphics cards can be used at home without any problem because the power costs will be low. But I see a trend that gpu miners are now getting rid of video cards and installing asics in their place, because asics are more profitable and easier to manage than constantly choosing profitable algorithms for video cards.

Mine meowpow@40MHASH and zil@70 mhash dual mining with the Team Black Miner (TBM)

$0.6+$0.15 = $0.75  a day. Should cover the power cost, and give a small profit..

Gpu mining is still hurting. Maybe in the fall but now not much at all.

My conclusion is not just based on what some miners in the Russian community are doing. Video cards have become less frequently discussed in mining. I look at prices on the American and European market, and most models are sometimes sold at a price that is lower than the manufacturer's recommended price.
And gamers don't buy video cards that often, considering that many choose to buy from miners on the secondary market.

No I have pointed my graphic cards to mine Raptoreum so far as I don't know what else to do with such cards, making like 10-20 dollars per month I would definitely not call it profitable to mine the coins that whattomine and other websites tell me to mine in order to get that amount.I prefer to mine at a loss a coin that will serve me well or that I believe can serve me well in the long run, this coin is not profitable,is not worthy in the coinmarketcap yet I believe so much into this that I have pointed my graphic card to mine it,it is an either make it or break it situation, nowadays since you cannot do that much with your graphic cards I just try this coin.

At the moment gpu mining is pretty much crushed.

Does not matter what you are mining.

Conventional mining from the https://www.hashrate.no/gpus calculator will show a low profit.
I see the only option to make good money is to mine new shitcoins. If the project appears on exchanges, the profit will be good, but the coin may not appear on exchanges.

If I mine new coins that are not yet listed, it will be quite risky

If you mine already known coins, the payback period for your video cards will be very long. MSRP is $649 and profit per day is 35 cents, it really hurts. My video cards have already paid for themselves several times over, so I'm ready to experiment.

Until now, my business model was as follows, I buy video cards, I mine with them for a certain time until the warranty expires, after which I replace the video cards with new and more powerful ones.
I set aside part of the mined in a ledger, another part I exchange through www.bitomat.com (http://www.bitomat.com) bitcoin ATMs.
But since Ethereum stopped mining last year, I switched to RVN, and the profit decreased a lot. I wonder if I should sell the whole farm?

You have a good strategy, I did the same, because video cards with a warranty are much easier to sell.
If you have a good offer to buy, then you can sell the video cards, but I prefer to experiment with mining new coins.
