Title: Trying to replace by fee with Electrum via ledger
Post by: NirvanaN3 on April 23, 2024, 03:02:51 PM
Hi all
I recently sent a BTC transaction, but the fee was too low, and the transaction is still 144 blocks away.
This happened before, and I used Electrum with my ledger to replace the fee
I tried to do this again, but it only loads the BTC transaction to the point when I did this last year
I tried deleting and reinstalling Electrum to no avail
Does anyone know how I can update my ledger on Electrum
Many thanks with hope

I don’t get your question well but a transaction made last year should have been confirmed or purged out. Although there other things that could still keep it unconfirmed like a Wallet automatically rebroadcasting but that is not possible with electrum. It can be due to other mempools settings. But others can maybe have it purged out of their memepool.

Follow this link (https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/6183300395037-Speeding-up-slow-Bitcoin-BTC-transactions-using-Electrum?docs=true) to update your ledger wallet with electrum. Then you can switch between servers to see which doesn’t have again in its pool and then you can broadcast a new transaction.

You might be using the incorrect derivation path.

What are your address first digits?

You must marcha the address format with the derivation path

For example , bech 32 type starts with bc1
Legacy starts with 1
And p2sh starts with 3

When you are done sync your ledger and electrum, just click Increase Fee to increase your transaction fee.

Aside from the script (address) type above,
If you've used an address from your "second account" in Ledger Live, you must edit Electrum's derivation path's 'account_index' from /0' to /1'.
If you've used the third account, use /2', and so on.

For example, if Native Segwit, second account: From m/84'/0'/0' to m/84'/0'/1'.
