Title: A doubt about onchain transactions
Post by: DHSS on May 02, 2024, 01:29:28 PM
Hello, everyone. Can someone answer me this question: To where goes a payment if the date I assigned to a transaction has expired before it has been processed? I withdrew a certain number of sats from the exchange, the transaction was confirmed (here is the ID c5d0c43d8be74e58317a84928536829febe947fc8a43dd6b403a98f3e5bf0a60), but the sats did not arrive in my Tails electrum wallet.

It has been confirmed since 3 days ago with over 482 confirmations right now. If you check the recipient addresses and yours is there, that means you suppose to see it on your Electrum wallet. Check your Electrum wallet to know if you use the correct bitcoin address for it.

You can go to Electrum console and input this:

Code:
ismine("input your bitcoin address")

Paste your bitcoin address there like this as an example:

Code:
ismine("bc1qe22rhx325v5pfg3jdr9rq3ahs6aelt43decf7h"]

See if it returned true or false. If it is false, that means it is not your Electrum address that you used to withdraw on the exchange.

Or go to the address tab and look for your address.

There's no such expiring date in Bitcoin.

So this is either your internet connections or you use wrong address.

See in the right bottom icon, it should be green instead of red.

I have using Electrum for 4 years so far and I never had any problem until now.

Till now. In case of next time because it might lead to confusion at times. Until now means it is now giving you problem.

I see that your transaction has 10 outputs. First you need to check your wallet balance on the blockchain to make sure you received the coins.
It could be a bug on the exchange or a synchronization issue in your wallet, but a better place to start is by checking on the blockchain.

He is referring to Electrum and not Blockchain wallet.

If his address is among the addresses that the coins are sent to, it is not a bug on the exchange. Likely he sent to a wrong address or probably his Electrum wallet is not synchroning with the bitcoin blockchain.

I don't understand what your case has to do with a legal issue and why you posted it in this section. You should post it in the Beginners & Help board instead. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0
Anyway you should check if one of the output addresses belongs to you (the 9th is just a change one according to blockchair) and if you own the private key or the seed belonging to this address. If yes just try to import the private key or the seed into another fresh wallet.
