Post by: dolphriends on May 07, 2024, 12:47:30 AM

It seems I can no longer post pictures I have in my imgur account.  What is the best way to post pictures these days ?

Thank you

I have been using talkimg.com (http://talkimg.com) for the last year since Imgur no longer supports hosting images.

Here is a thread about it:
Talkimg Thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5450546.msg62164408#msg62164408)

Seems to work well.
Easy to upload and generates bbcode for easy insertion into posts.
Hope this helps

I have used both Talkimg and Imgbb before. If it is about posting of images on this forum, it is better you go for Talkimg which is better than Imgbb. I do encounter problem while posting image on this forum while using Imgbb. A friend of mine called me like 3 days ago with the same problem, I told him to use Talkimg which is easier.

I have in the past just created a Google Blogger blog and uploaded images ti that and then
copied them to the forum. All the images I have posted in the 7 years are still live on the forum
until I delete the blog.

Now I use Talkimg, extremely easy to use, creates the BB code to copy and paste, the only thing
I do is to insert the size of the image to make it fit better on other peoples viewer.

[img width=400] [/ im g]

regarding this, there was an issue that happened with Imgur last year that left a lot of images posted here in the forum broken so theymos decided going forward images from Imgur would not be able to be posted here to prevent the same issue from happening again.

What is the best way to post pictures these days ?
you can use Talkimg.com, I've been using it since last year and it was created by one of the forum members. you can also use what Cryptogreatdane suggested.

Imgur is not working in forum for some time, but Talkimg is very good alternative and it was created by one of the forum members joker_josue.
Images uploaded on Imgbb are also working in forum, but they can always do something similar like Imgur in future that would broke the links, that will never happen with Talkimg.

Just as many suggested, I have been a fan of imgbb.com for quite a long time, not until talkimg.com was launched by joker_josue, as a solution to curb image error we were experiencing when imgur disconnected the forum for image upload couple of months ago. So since then, I highly recommend talkimg.com as the best image hosting site to be used on the forum, (i.e since it was created by a member of the forum, for the sole purpose of the forum).

So using talkimg.com, is just as simple as A,B,C, as all you have to do is;
1. Head unto the website and click on "Start uploading"
2. Select the image from either your laptop or phone gallery and click done.
3. Upload the image
4. Copy the final BBcode full link, and head unto the forum for the normal image editing format.

Have you been inactive for that long whereby you never noticed that imgur is no longer supported to be used on this forum again, this has been discovered several times since last year, you can make use of talkimg for your image hosting site now hence, and there have been other threads that have been created in fixing up those that have already past imgur posts with their images to convert them in other to be displayed.

OP where have you been? This was one of the highlights of 2023. Imgur stopped working on the forum last year, a lot of forum users have since started using talkimg.com to post images on the forum. If you’re concerned about your previous posts which contain Imgur links, you can  recover them on LoyceV’s thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5453227.0)

it's somewhat impossible to post pictures from imgur. There's been a recent saga on alleged image proxies/ban..
I remember trying to host the imgur app; not just cus I wanted to post pictures, but because I thought I could have that free hand to manipulate their bbcodes, adjusting the L and W of the images, but that wasn't even possible.

I think talkimg.com serves more better than that. After so much stress of imgbb and imgur not responding, I had to search through the forum. That's how i found talkimg and it's been the best for me.

Some sughestions given above already but if OP needs more choices for further consideration, check this list

mage uploading websites/ scripts for Bitcointalk users (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5452693.0)

Talkimg.com is one of most favorite sites after imgur.com turn the proxy against Bitcoin forum.

you can  recover them on LoyceV’s thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php topic=5453227.msg62263662#msg62263662)
Correct link: [get yours] Images from imgur + All links to your own posts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5453227.0).

What's the best way to host your pictures? Why, you should own your own domain name, and host it. Add some info pages, and some affiliate links, and you might make a bit of extra income. That way you have complete control of your pictures and videos.

That's what I do. But: if I quit, my images will be gone. And that's why a dedicated image hosting service can be better, unless it stops working. Like Tinypic did. Like Imgur did.

Maybe Op is little bit busy last year and that's the reason why he didn't know that imgur is not working well since last year.  OP WHAT geophphreigh said above you can use Imgg.bb and also there's new Talklmg.com is the best site to use to post an image here in our community. And it's highly recommend cause it is smooth and fast to use. And we all know that most of us here  already know this site and they used it since imgur didn't response good . Anyways OP you can choose one of that 2 or you can use it both.

If you want to control what you upload, it is better to host the images on your private server and then publish the .png extension or use Talkimg, as I think that communicating with joker_josue to delete any image will be easier than communicating with Imgbb.

I find this post interesting, because for quite some time now i've been planning to make a post in the forum which involve picture illustrations, but i didn't know how to go about it, i thought i have to reach some certain height in rank before i can do that.

So far TalkIMG. Com has been a savior for someone like me who couldn't catch up to imgur.com at the time and one thing I enjoy about using TalkIMG is the fact of having to see the previous pics uploaded and deciding if to keep the link or delete it after use.

When imgur can no longer be used in this forum but you wanted to post images and that's when talkimg comes in. So far, talkimg is what I used now when posting images. Imgur let you see the images that you have uploaded on imgur but it's not much of a use now but only when you check images that you have uploaded to download and use talkimg. There are other websites like talkimg but I prefer using talkimg when it's all about images.

Yes, with your current rant of jr member, you can add image to your post if you follow the most of the comments in this particular thread, you will understand and know how to add image and how to use most of these image uploading platforms like Imgbb, Imgur, and the one they created for the sake of this forum (Talkimg) and how to eventually add them to your posts in this forum.
