Title: [WARNING] BitcoinMiningSolutions.ca || FAKE TEAM
Post by: albon on May 08, 2024, 11:43:30 AM
What happened: This project has a fake team. They used pictures of some personalities and attributed them to their team under fake names. This action indicates one of the red flags to avoid the project, besides their whitepaper, which contains many plagiarized paragraphs and does not contain reference links.

Additional Notes:

I think they launched the Bounty campaign at this specific time to coincide with the pre-sale of the second stage (https://twitter.com/bitminingsol/status/1785824629380317308), which they launched several days ago to promote it and attract investors to this project after announcing the completion of first stage that starts April 2, 2024 and raising $380,430.02. There is no evidence to support this claim, which they made within less than 40 days of starting their new project, which has a small community.

Oh, my God. I thought the days of other people's fake photos were over back in 2018, but we're seeing them again. Now that the use of AI is so widespread, it is very easy to create an undetectable photo, but scammers do not even bother to do this. How funny everything is! It looks like a child was doing this. Nice catch, OP.

What happened: This project has a fake team.
If scammers are still trying to entice victims by using fake token sales (and pre-sales), it means there is still a market out there for this type of scam. As long as people keep falling victim to them they will continue creating more fake token sales.

I hope potential investors manage to see through this scam and they do not lose money to them.

Scammers find themselves feeling over-confident therefore continue to make the simplest of errors. The fake photo phenomenon will not stop because it is an important tool scammers need to employ in order to fool investors. They hope to catch a small number of victims in one trap before they move on to the next scam.

He hasn't bothered to edit and close the bounty thread even after the scam accusation is up which means he knows exactly what he is doing. So I am going to leave some negative tag and a newbie flag to alert newbies who be thinking about participating in the scam bounty campaign.

Very dull scammer IMO.

That scamming tactic is cheap and will never be gone. The scammers cost them nothing so this technique will continue for as long as they can be.
To be honest, when I visit a website and sees pictures like that. The first thing that comes to my mind is that they're probably not the real ones and grabbed it somewhere, in LinkedIn, social media platforms, business websites and other formal websites where these personalities are showing their profiles. And another red flag is about the name of their company and website, when I hear "mining solutions" or anything the same, they click to my head as another form of cloud mining scam or so.
@op, thank you for spotting them out and if they're launching a bounty, I hope that people won't patronize and join them.

The laziness of scammer may be an indication of the ease of those who fraud on them. bought Copper Membership without striving to modify the images, focusing on promoting the project and no one will care about checking them project.

A new version of the Whitepaper is now available on the website. They just kicked out people who were found out to be fake! :)

Apparently, our little scammer buddy saw the accusations and couldn't even muster a decent defense. Just kept peddling his phony project like nothing happened. Pathetic.

They're making a comeback because people thought that these types of scams are overused and that no one will fall for them, they're basically depending on how many people don't know about it and the obscurity of modus, hopefully people won't be as dumb as they used to be about this one and that a lot of people still remember to check for the identity of the people behind the project, my only hope is that people don't fall for this really scummy and basic scam.

Now, the capabilities of AI are so great that processing both photos and white paper can easily pass off a fake project as a legitimate one. And you don't need to be a genius. But what we saw already speaks of laziness and, especially, lack of professionalism, even in such trifles as the first announcement. What can you think about everything else, then?

Thank God, this AI and ChatGPT revolution wasn't there or wasn't popular during the time of the ICO hype. It was going to be a shitshow  ;D

Imagine how many Scam ICO projects were reported in this board with plagiarized white papers and fake team photos, probably hundreds or thousands. With AI, it could have been way worse. The good thing is now days, so many people don't care about ICOs.
