Title: Be careful with people's money
Post by: Oshosondy on May 15, 2024, 09:41:12 AM
I have read many news that someone will mismanage people's money. I read one about a university student some years ago that gambled with the money contributed by his course mates. The main reason that is causing the money mismanagement is either trading or gambling, but I read more about gambling online. Some can be because of other reasons.

There is another one that I read today that people thought he ran away with people's money but he later confessed that he lost it to gambling. It is about a solana-based cypher developer, he confesses that he lost $300K of user funds to gambling.

The core developer of the Solana-based cross-margin decentralized exchange (DEX) admitted his wrongdoing in a public statement shared in a May 14 X post:

“To address the elephant in the room, the allegations are true, I took the funds and gambled them away. I didn’t run away with it, nor did anyone else.”

There have been many cases like that where people misuse other people's money for their own interests, for example gambling with the money in the hope that they can multiply the money and make themselves rich. Gambling using other people's money is a very stupid act, because gambling is uncertain when you win or lose, and you will most likely lose, so gambling using money you shouldn't gamble with is very risky and should be avoided.

People should check the background or character of the people they entrust their money with, but unfortunately, some people are so good at hiding their character that they only get exposed when the deed is already done.

Temptation is really high for people to take a chance on gamblers, especially if they see a match that they figure out could give them a sure win.

This is why companies do not put people in a sensitive position dealing with money who they know to be bad at handling money or addicted to gamblers. I'm not saying they cannot be trusted; it's just that the temptation will be hard for them to resist.

Money mismanagement is the order of the day as some people misuse money in their possession and say it's not their fault,a and thinking you want to enrich of yourself with it,it's not gonna work.
A friend of mine came to me for help to borrow an amount of money and when I asked why that amounts is needed, the reply was a very long story that I later discovered a huge millions was lost in cause of having this selfish interest and till date the person is still in debt and trying to pay off gradually.

People should really learn from other's mistakes and experience so they won't fall as victims of such circumstances.

this is one of the reasons why many people now lose trust in other people when it comes to managing their money. As you can see, because of such incidents, it is difficult for someone to interact with other people, especially if it is connected to money matters. even I experienced something like that but the person who handled our contribution used the money to buy his luxuries and then lied that he was robbed but the truth is that he spent it on his own will. I hope for people who are trusted by friends or acquaintances, I hope we will be honest and then be good at managing because it is not easy to earn money so I hope it will be handled well.

$300k Hughes would have made another $300k+ profit from this if he could have won gambling. But he lost his entire money due to gambling loss. Gambling therefore needs to be used carefully. be lost $300k because he could afford to bet that amount. No common man would be able to bet such an amount on gambling.  But if he did this, it means he owns a lot of money or he is deeply addicted to gambling.  If he is a rich person then such a loss will not do him much harm  And if he is addicted to gambling then it will be another horror for him.

~

It's impossible in practice. And not because the potential fraudsters are so good at hiding their character, but because they themselves don't know what they are capable of, in the first place. An event in life can change someone completely. Not many people have that strength to resist the transformation into a monster. But those who have that strength despite of everything are heroes. And we must do everything we can to be like them.

The solana guy's issue is very embarrassing and shameful to say the least. It leaves me with a distasteful taste in my mouth when I read it. How can you be this irresponsible and stupid. Why throw away your career in future just for a habit that people would easily offer heap and not mock you. It indeed breaks my heart that people are not honest with themselves about their addiction. They keep hiding it and betraying the trust of their friends.

Some people do not hide their character but they may disappoint. That is why we should not trust our money with anyone because anyone can misappropriate people's money. What the person will notice is that he spent the money on gambling thinking he should double it and not use it to gamble again but seeing himself losing instead. But we can still say that it is indiscipline because it is easy to know that the loss can not bring anything good than shame and punishment.

The article and the data provided by the article prove the many risks of investing in projects of people whom we do not know; the Solana guy is not even repentant, blames his addiction, and does not own up to what he has done; he should be charged for what he has done, there is no excuse for people who gamble away people's money it's a bad precedent if people like this gets away with this crime.

Don't trust your money with a gambler. The first rule.

This happened a lot when I was joining the conversation in a certain chatbox of one gambling site. A gambler won a great amount of money so instead of tipping random people, he tried to give a trivia and anyone who would answer right will be given a tip.
But since he was too busy, he looked for a person who would manage it. When he made a choice he tipped that guy with $100 in a different currency. The guy did his job initially, made 5 trivia, and gave $5 to each person that would win it. So that's $25. Suddenly, he was gone for 5 minutes and we thought he might just be disconnected or was thinking of another question for the participants. But he was gone for a long time.
Then others tried to tag his name and he was online on a different chatbox. He didn't come back to give more trivia and the gambler who won was devastated and frustrated that something like that happened. Afterward, he didn't do that kind of thing anymore. Trauma.

Let us also be careful at where we will invest our money. It's better if we can dig deep about their bad habits and other hobbies.

This is what money can bring so what more in Gambling where the temptation is truly huge and mistakes are often to happen , though there are cases that the money is also being spend in Trading where the person involved think he can easily make some percentage but ending being a loser.

That's why we don't need to use other people's money, especially since it's people's money. We will experience a lot of problems if we use the money for personal interests. If they use the money to gamble and lose, the problems they will face will increase.

They will find it difficult to overcome the problem. Maybe the problem won't be resolved and if they have to return all the money, it will be even more difficult. People don't need to entrust their money to people they don't know.

Even though they already know him, they really have to be able to find someone they can trust. Nowadays, it is very difficult to find people you can trust. They look good but we don't know what the motive is behind them.

It is not in all the cases that the people claim to have used those money for gambling that is actually the truth as they declare. Some may not have even used it to gamble, it could be that they have used it to acquire a property for themself or gave it out as loan to later get an interest profit after it's returned. Hence they claim to have used it to gamble and lost it, they assume that the case will not escalate beyond what it should if the money is said to have been used for something else profitable.

I witnessed a case in my former estate where a certain man in the estate had to use his association money that members contributed under his care to sponsor his two children to school abroad. Something he alleged to have lost the money to gambling he played within the period the money was contributed to him. It was a preliminary investigation after police was involved in the case that revealed what he actually used the money for. Humans can be very cunning.

In this case then why we let other people handle our money? Gambling and trading is risky that's why its a big no for deciding to trust our funds with those guys since we provably know that we will be in big trouble.

To avoid  experiencing those cases much better if we could spend some time to learn those activities since no one will scam us if we became a skilled individual which able to produce good result for ourselves on each gambling and trading decision or activities we do. I've hear a lot of cases like this that's why I can't afford to trust my funds to any random guy around or even if I know them since there would be a conflict of interest will happen and this could destroy peoples trust and might create some fake reasons if they lose their money just to get out on supposed to be obligation that they needed to face.

this shouldn't always be shifted to gambling to be honest. He could have squandered the money with whichever way he chooses to buy it's just that for this context, he chooses to use it to gamble. People need to understand that any money that's not your own should be kept for the purpose for which the money got into your hands. You can't be too smart when it comes to using people's money. There is some sort of spirit that's associated with people's money. Sometimes you can use your money to gamble and wouldn't loose it but when it comes to other people's money, it's always strange how it goes off in no time.

If you aren't ready to gamble responsibly most expecially when it has to do with people's money, you should reconsider quiting entirely.

It's because the temptation on gambling is for real, everyone is going to be affected and by suckered and the lure of the potential to win big. I just watched a documentary on Netflix about the Centra founder and how he lost the last $100k of their money into gambling and that he almost want to kill himself after that. And so this story is not the first team and again, it's tempting to put someone's money into gambling because you are thinking that you can double it and as the same time have some fun. But the big question is what happens after you lose everything? It will take a lot of mental toll on the individual and just like the documentary that I watch he contemplate suicide, but at least he snapped from it when he did talk to people close to him.

Gambling addiction is something no one should fall into because if you do, it will ruin your reputation and business, if you are a business man. I am not surprised at this guy's actions because it was addiction that caused it since he cannot control himself and he has access to public funds in his custody. What happened to him is the same thing that will happen to any addicted gambler, because they only know how to chase their losses until their losses will turn around to hunt them.

When you gamble with people's money in the due to addiction, if you money is not yet exhausted, they will not stop. Forgetting that it is not their money and that the owners of those funds will definitely ask for it and when you cannot provide it, your losses will start chasing you until you pay them back to the owners or you go to jail. An addicted gambler should not go into any business, if he has not overcome his addiction, if not he will gamble off his business.

What you are telling you is the same as the case of embezzlement of customer money that occurred in my country.
They do not deposit customer installments to central banks and prefer to use it as a crypto investment that is eventually lost or exposed to the Rugpull project and also used for slot gambling that makes all the money disappear.

This mode of using other people's money has become an old mode, but the method is different.
I have never believed in people who manage money for savings or those who receive services for savings and loans.

What happens in the end will only be losing money due to embezzlement of money for gambling or other purposes.
Especially if they are already addicted to gambling, then anyone's money will not care.

And it's quite a sad incident, just because of the greed of the project developers that a lot of user money is lost.
But there is nothing that can be done if it is related to crypto, except for anyone who knows the place where the developer lives and asks for a change directly, but if he is anonymous then there is no way whatsoever to restore it.

Be careful with people's money
That's the reason why when we join an organization or social gathering group, we have to be careful in choosing a chairman or treasurer, because it is very important for the sustainability of the organization in the future, to see whether our friends who we want to entrust money to have gambled or not.

Gambling can darken someone's eyes, if someone has been involved in the world of gambling, most of them don't see where the money comes from, the important thing is that they can use and aim to multiply that money, whether it's a person/group's money or something else, the illusion tells them to use it temporarily, not knowing that they have entered a vicious circle, where at the end of the story they lose the money.

Cases like what the OP said have happened in my area, but not money from college friends, the money was money from social gatherings for mothers, because the treasurer was addicted to gambling, so the story ended without a trace of money disappearing.

The last part of your statement that I bold is a lie which we tell ourselves. Every gambler is aware that there is no sure game that guarantees you winning but we always deceive ourselves with assumption of winning. Perceiving a game as a sure game is a common thing that happens to everyone but going hard with stake/wager because of your perception is very foolishness.

I quite agree with you that some people are too good in hiding their real character until they are caught in the act. I remembered meeting a guy who's a gambler back then in school. We spent almost a year together without realizing he's into gambling until one fateful day when he got into trouble and I discovered that the cause of the problem is gambling. Upon my discovery, I still find it hard to believe but it was true, he's a gambler but very secretive.

Gambling with people's money is a sign that the gambler is not aware of what he/she is doing because it's abnormal for a sane person with knowledge of gambling to that. You lost the money and you still have debt to clear, it's an unwise decision.

At this point, it would have been preferable if he had squandered the money on something personal but not gambling. His actions were based on many factors like greed, gambling addiction and maybe trying to cook up some success story yet in all he lacks the knowledge of a good gambling ethic and this has landed him/many into some big shit. Most people are really good at learning by experience, after this he would decide for himself next time wether to recreate again or avoid it.

This has been the reason why we always advise against addiction because whenever you get to the point of addiction it becomes easy for you to always want to use any funds available at your disposal to gamble and in cases as this since gambling isn't guaranteed it's very possible you get to loose your funds gambling because you are not addicted a d feel you can always get an opportunity with the casino to be able to win a game buy it turns out thst you eventually get to loose most of the money gambling. When people entrust funds into you hand, it should be an avenue for you to want to explore new opportunities with people's funds especially with gambling which never guarantees success.

If you wish to invest or try out new opportunities it's best you do thst with your own funds probably thst which you have saved, responsible gambling cannot lead to the point where you get to use people's fund to gamble buy then it's sad that only a few gamble responsibly enough.

Be careful with people's money

Having people's money with you is like having to borrow money and to borrow money to gamble is a red flag either. I know of a similar story like that when someone defaulted to remit money that was in his custody to the owner because it has been used for gambling. So if someone ask to keep money with you when you know that you don't have the emotional control to be able to resist the temptation of using it for your personal purpose and including gambling, you better refuse to collect it so that such temptation of making use of someone else money will be avoided.

It is clear that using other people's money, especially without the experience or permission of other people, is a very big mistake and this behavior is also included in behavior that is truly prohibited and sometimes there will be punishment for the private user.
We have seen many things around us, even from the news on television, that there is an official who misuses people's money for personal or group interests. Yes, at first it will feel safe, but over time it will definitely be exposed, especially if the individual uses the money. other people for the sake of their hobby, namely gambling, is a very fatal mistake and if they are caught, they will definitely immediately receive a punishment commensurate with what they have done.

I've heard of such act from different angles where students use their school fees or money some persons contributed to gamble. It sounds and looks crazy when I see such act, gambling is uncertain you don't know if whether you might win or loss. Some folks are so desperate to go extra mile for gambling seek. There are risk that shouldn't be classified as risk such is the scenario where a student will gamble with his/her school fees and call it a risk Hell NO such risk isn't right, risk should be taken rightly.

I know of a number of stories about people taking advantage of trust by creating a flashy appearance or pretending to be someone knowledgeable about investments to deceive and take advantage of people around them.

Such a story is not too strange, especially in the crypto space where there are also large-scale scams, but it also reflects the reality that people's greedy mentality is easily swept up in opportunities considered easy.

Anyway, it's a dark corner in any field where stories like this appear. The lesson I always remember is not to rush to believe everything, but check with your own experiences, right away. Even relatives can treat you badly, as long as you are not in that situation.

A gambler should becare so that problem will not arise from avoidable things, is just that greed can cause anything to happen, most time they problem  with some gambler is greed, the ability to make sure the win more with the fund that does not belong to them, when you see this kind of thing happening just know that addiction is near, it is not wise to make use of fund that was given to you because of trust of whatsoever to gamble, I called this irresponsible character in the highest level, it doesn't sound nice when some one use money at such to gamble, trust is not easy to earn and it is lost it lead a person into problem can only be solved with more borrowed money, this should be frowned at.

I disagree with using the term mismanaged here because what they did is stole the money and used it for their personal use and whatever it can be still it's stealing not mismanaging because the later is used for someone like manager who is supposed to buy x amount of stocks bought in bulk then the price went down and such like that.

First of all, giving complete control of public money like donation, crowd funds, etc to one person or group of people is primary reason for abusing. There should be transparent way to see anyone who contributed towards the money.

Exactly, but what I'm concerned about is folks who are already addicted to gambling. Because how can you use someone else's money to bet? You can't guarantee that when you bet, you'll get your money back. If you don't have money to bet, just be patient and wait until you do, and then you can stake to risk because if you lose, it won't affect you because you already know that gambling is a game of luck, and you can't say you'll win every time you play. But, if you used someone's money and bet, and you lose, how can you refund the money back? If he ask you about it, where will you get the funds and give him back. we need to be very carefully with borrowing of money and try to bet to double the funds is not suppose to be like that. is good you should have you personal money to bet on without using people money because they truest you that is why they decide to give you because anytime they need the funds they can get it back without any worrying.

I have seen many cases like this in my area where they manage public money or company money but instead are misused for gambling hoping to make a fortune but what happens is that they lose everything and the average person runs away but is eventually caught by the police.

This problem often occurs when someone manages a lot of public money like there is no responsibility they consider it like their own money that is played at the casino but after losing money he regrets it and is unlikely to compensate.

That gambling is indeed hot when you hold any money, the lust wants to continue playing and usually they have bad habits until the end becomes a disaster.

This isn't something new, and this is also the reason why you shouldn't trust people so easily.
I also watched a video in the past, I am not sure if it was the engineer or what but the fund that was supposed to be used to build their customers house was used by that person on gambling and lose.
It is hard to trust people with a huge amount of money sometimes this could also happen with someone close to us, business partners or even relatives there are some who would do this due to their greed.

It's actually not the first time we have heard of so many such stories. The truth is that gambling has caused so many people alot. And thus before keeping a huge amount of funds with anyone, we have to make sure that such person is not a gambler or have something to do with gambling. Being mindful of such addicted gamblers will help us save the stress as even though they are caught or after confession they still won't be able to produce the whole money lost. Gambling can be addictive, tempting and for someone who knows that he hold peoples money for them he should be smart enough not to get himself involved in such activities. Except he want to use his personal funds to gamble.

We've also had a similar case in the collectible section where one of the many known physical wallets got swept by a single user and then gambled all the coins away.

It rarely happens, but it's scary that the possibility for someone to gamble your funds away is always there, and the worst part with these cases is that most of them get away with it.

I've heard a familiar story of a guy who received money for a friend and spent it on gambling. He didn't win, but the good part of the story is that he paid back. Playing with people's money is not bad. Some players tend to wager high on another person's pocket, that's wrong. However, it's always embarrassing to hear of such things, because the player is not showing himself some respect in the society. People may not respect him anymore, even in the gambling community. Yet it's not a new story that gamblers have the impulse of going harder when they lose. Regardless of who owns the money, the player wouldn't stop less he feels the whole funds has been exhausted. I think that's the only moment such players tend to stop gambling. The mistake comes by surprise.

SBF alleged to play blackjack using the exchange funds right before the bankruptcy. There’s no confirmation for this news but this is possible to happened since it’s very easy to move money from reserves on crypto since there’s no name on wallet address unless it will sent on KYC services who owns the address.

I remember one of my long time friend in social media holds our fund for long term savings. He gamble it all on a dice game and lose it without our permission. He is currently off the radar after the loss.

The moral of the story is people in crypto is very prone to gamble funds especially if they are short for funds while they have others money in their hand. @Yogg is the perfect example here since he break the trust if his customers by redeeming his product just to gamble it away.

To be honest, it is quite disturbing how often one can find stories like these ones, on people who decide to they loans or even try to take money which is supposed to be used for something unrelated to gamble and they end up gambling it all away, it is like they did not expect to suffer any consequences for their actions, or something.
Also, that later example of a developer taking the money of their investors to gamble is one of many examples of why people do not trust new ventures within the ecosystem of Alternative currencies like Solana, Ethereum, or any coin which enables to the creation of smart contracts.
There is a scam around every corner and these unfortunate events do not help to increase the trust people could have on legitame token or coins in the future.
It does not matter whether they are online, managing cryptocurrency or in real life, managing cash. Greed seems not to care on the situation of those vulnerable to it.

For anybody to use people's money to gamble, that's pure recklessness and lack of regard for themselves as an individual and the people he is holding their money in trust. Gambling should be with your personal money, where nobody can hold you accountable for mismanagement.Of course there are situations where people take risk, and eventually they will be rewarded, but in a scale of 1-10, 70% of those risk taken especially with people's money always comes out negative. $3000k is a lot of money, and I'm sure that guy didn't manage his risk properly.

He has just committed a criminal offense and can go to jail if he is unable to refund the money. This guy is suffering from acute gambling disorder and should seek help immediately. This is the effect of not having a budget which will aid in using only what you can afford to lose. It is also important to add that we should gamble with only what is our own. Maybe he gambled with a little part of the money and lost. In order to recover the loss and replace the money he kept gambling until he lost such a big amount. I have a tradition of not keeping people's money in my custody. It is better to refer someone to a financial institution than to be in custody of people's money.

In situations where someone mismanages other people's funds to play in gambling sites I think it's a good judgment to entrust them with the minimum amount of money possible in the future.
If they are your child, make sure they can survive, give them food, transport etc but not in cash form. Be close to them and try to guide them.

For people that are older, it might be a lost cause. Just strip them from positions of responsibility, take their responsibilities on you if they're a family member. Give them an intervention. If it keeps happening be more vigilant and pressure them even more perhaps. Make them seriously consider attending some group therapy. That's the only good approach I can consider. Making it public isn't the right approach as it can be quite ruinous for the the individual. The goal is to help them fix themselves, not to ruin them.

Anyone that can not control their gambling habit shouldn't be entrusted with money, just like a drug addict, he will use the funds for gambling by all means, so I am not surprised by this development since the CEO is an addicted gambler's and he is in charge of the company money.

The fault is from the administration of the company allowing an individual 💯 percentage access to company's funding, when they should make laws that question every money movement.

Thirdly if you know any person that have gambling problem or any other addictions cases, such person shouldn't be trusted with money.

Very familiar with cases like this, I've heard various stories where they take away customers' money that is not deposited but instead used for gambling, I don't know and indeed this problem is often the people who are the target.

They should be able to see their background whether they often play gambling if it is true then when he manages any finance it should be suspicious it could be that customer funds are used even though not all are like that, but most of them are now desperate with the money and the results are not cared about anymore usually the person is ready to be punished by the authorities.

I feel like it's less important to give advice to people to be careful with money that belong to other people. More important is to make people hold their own money.

How many people do you know who custody other people's funds? I'm sure it's not many, but how many people do you know who hold their own money?
Moral of the story? Give advice to the general public not the select few.

Hold your own money people and you won't get scammed by people like this shitcoiner from OP's post.

The help we can render is educating them on Money Management and habits, how they can make solid financial decisions solely without being shaken by emotion, pleasure, or any other factor but act when they want or how they choose to spend.

Fixing, bad habits like this requires  help of loved ones, but most at times some can't really open up to there family because of fear of criticism.

It saddens my heart how most gamblers find it easy and comfortable to gamble with people's money without thinking about the situation of a loss bet, and how will they be able to refund the money given if they lose their bets.

They don't think that mismanaging people's money can destroy their relationship with people and also dent their image with others. Some people can be weird in character in not to protect their image to be a bad figure to friends or public. Nothing reduces someone prestige as being use as example to others as someone who gambles with other people's money for a bet

How about maybe the biggest gamble of all, Fractional Reserve Banking where big/large banks use a large % of peoples money to gamble/invest in all sorts of different things, meaning that your money is really not all at a bank somewhere, though it's theoretically supposed to be.  It's kind of insane how hard it is (at least in the United States) to go to a bank and take out a "large" sum of money (say 7-10k).  This to me is crazy gambling and a reason laws were put in to place to stop this.

It's always better to gamble with the money that doesn't impact your or someone else's life because you're literally throwing your money in fire when you gamble with it, you'll either get something in return or you end up burning the money. That's why it's always recommended to think gambling as a way to have some fun time rather than a way to make a lot of money with it.

If it's a case of rating if this particular fellow is an addict then I think I would definitely class him as one because he doesn't look or think twice before using someone else money which is the worsts of habits when you come to Gambling.

On the time that you do find yourself that being addicted to gambling then there would really be always those chance or moment that you might be able to hit up that kind of possibility on making use of others money
specially if you are someone who do have that kind of severity when it comes to the addiction within you. You wont really be caring about into your reputation, credibility or being trusted on which you would be ignoring
it all away and wont be minding on what those people would be seeing into you or to those who had entrusted those funds, on which you would be basically be trying out to play as much as you can since you do have the funds on which you could really be that making use into. This is why it would really be that ideal for someone to carefully choose on who would be the one will really be handling out some sort of pooled funds or
whatever it would be.

When it comes to the temptation on spending it up will really be always there and if someone you had appointed does have that kind of addiction or engagement with gambling
then it would be better that it should be that pulled out directly or changed up someone who would be handling those funds.

I am sure that if some person took my money and started gambling with this money without asking, then even if he won and gave me even more money, then most likely I would stop communicating with this person or stop would have any mutual relationship with him.
Money cannot be risked if this money is intended for some purpose or project, but if this money is not yours yet, then it will not lead to anything good and this person’s reputation in front of people will suffer greatly. They will simply stop trusting him not only with money, but also as a person in general.
Regarding the person who lost 300 thousand dollars, I think that he needs to be treated for gambling addiction. Most likely now he is dangerous not only to himself but also to others

Gambling is not an investment that's where people that fall in this category get it all wrong. Every single gambling activity from online to offline to even raffles all have a certain percentage of luck that has to be present before you can win. Some persons may argue that experience and analysis is key however it varies  for different gambling activities and games. As a gambler, when you place a bet or stake  you should have in mind there is a possibility of you totally losing all the funds. As it can even serve as a discipline to make sure you don't over stake.
As for someone who placed a bet with funds that isn't is, I'll definitely conclude that such a person isn't loyal and is probably even a gambling addict. No matter how fancy or nice the odds may seem discipline and integrity is of upmost importance.

I often read stories like this, but they usually don't deal with cryptocurrencies. For example, in our country there were several cases when a cashier of a bank or other financial institution stole money and then bet everything on red or black. And if you win, quickly return everything before anyone notices. But as usual in such situations, they lost and only then realized what had happened. I call this putting your life on roulette, of course it’s terrible and you can’t take such a crazy risk, it’s unreasonably high. I have always wondered what is in the minds of such people, maybe they are tired of their job or wife, and after doubling their money they want to completely change their life. Or maybe they have a large relative who needs a very expensive operation and there is nowhere to get money quickly, so they go for it. I don’t know, but I never advise anyone to do such things, because we can ruin our lives.

You are right gambling with people's money is the height of it all its very bad and individuals who do that should desist from it, gambling does not guarantee a high chances of winning so why would anyone think of taking such risk with other people's mone.i feel people who gamble with money that's not there's are addicts, it takes an addicted person to do such.

That's why they always advice individuals to gamble responsibly so they won't get addicted to it, gambling addiction has caused lots of issues for many individuals I've also heard cases where some steal just to gamble like why would someone steal just to indulge in something that's based on luck mostly and to make it worst they'll even gamble with funds that's not theirs.

One of the shit reasoning that they do have in mind is that they do really believe that they could be able to put it back or give it back once they've been able to use it. They are really that confident that they could really be able to double out those amounts on the time that they would really be doing gambling, without even trying out to think up about on the risks involved with gambling on which they could potentially losing it all.
Instead on trying out to avoid with those things, they woudl rather be that continuing into the things that they do have in mind which is really that very wrong.

On the time that they have spent all of those amounts which aren't theirs, if this one turns out to be that so big then you are fucked up.
You would really be needing up to give it back or else you would really be facing up some possible legal actions on which we know that this could be potentially be thrown up into you.
Using up others money or doesnt belong into you is really that a serious crime i should say specially if its a company fund or something correlated.

It is unfortunate that such a thing is happening and it is very bad that it involves a blockchain developer which is not in any way making any sense. This is what addiction could cause when a gambler is very much in the mode to gamble. This he has done could cause a wreckage to the project he is currently on because his actions already is making people to doubt his person as a gambler because it is obvious he already been noted as a gambling addict. And as such investors would doubt the credibility of the project in his custody which would affect the growth and development of the project he is currently on.

Although this happenings are not new to my knowledge. I have witnessed an occurrence where a student gambled with his school fees and lost all of them to gambling. As if that is not enough, I witnessed another scenario another scenario were a boy was given money for his hostel accommodation and he used it to gamble and also look OST everything and was left with nothing to hold onto.
I have also heard of occurrences or situations were a boy stole from his father to gamble and he lost everything.
This situation of the developer gambling with peoples money is not a new thing but I think he was actually too careless to have done such.

Well, suppose a person is hyper and doesn't know how to protect someone's property. In that case, they should avoid taking care of anything at all because they will end up spoiling it and wasting it just like some of the charity groups we had in this community where they spent lots of money personally that was supposed to be for charity and most people trusted them for it. Therefore, if a person is known to gamble most of the time, he shouldn't be trusted with their money in the first place but mostly this is not the case because these traits are hidden from others until they prove it and learn the hard way.

At first we should know the kind of people we should entrust our funds with especially those people who are gambling addicts there could be trust issues while giving them money because since they are allergic to gambling it could be used to gamble or trading. Trading is a bit manageable because sometimes if its used for crypto trading meaning there could be some left and could be restored than gambling, since when you places bet and the bet didn't go as plan then there is every possibility that the money is gone totally but with trading there is every chances one could wait for the coin get back to it's previous price except it's on a shitcoin instead of bitcoin.

unfortunately when people are addicted they do the worst crazy things to keep playing and until there is someone who realizes that the behavior of that person who is dealing with other people's money is not good behavior, then that person who is dealing with the money Other people will continue to take other people's money to gamble because that person is sick and as long as they don't have medical help they will continue to take people's money to gamble. Unfortunately, most people don't understand that when someone is addicted they can sell anything, steal, kill to have money and continue gambling. When people read in the news that someone took other people's money and went gambling, they tend to think that they should arrest the person who took other people's money, they don't think that it is necessary to take that person to the hospital

This so risky and sometimes i just wonder about people who do things like this if they don't even think what if they lose the money. People like this their confidence about gambling is annoying and doesn't make any sense. Normally it is even wrong to use all your money to play gambling but I'm so surprised whenever I see people using money that doesn't belong to them to play gambling. Most times gambling Dissapoint people that wants to make money so fast from it but people don't understand this and still go ahead using all the money they gave to play gambling.

People will always take gambling like this because because they are not even willing to learn to understand how to go gambling,  they just have the mindset that having money to play gamble is the main thing to make profit  from gamble.

There are many scammers offering business and investment opportunities for crypto enthusiasts on the internet with very good margins of profitability. In order to keep their platforms operating and paying users, they appeal to risky activities such as daily trading and gambling. It's the case of ponzi schemes, hyips and even some lending platforms, as we have already seen in the past they going down once their schemes failed due to the irresponsability and bad character of the services' managers.

More than being careful with people's money, you have to be careful with your own money in order to not send it to one of those scammers who are going to steal or lose your hard earned money which took you several years to accumulate. Always you see a very good offer to be true, you have to decline it, because it's something sketchy which won't guarantee you any safety or guaranteed returns on long run. It's like paying someone else to gamble with your own money. You aren't going to have fun playing, but you still share the same risks of losing everything!

Right, there should be a background check prior to entrusting the funds to him. If he has no histories in gambling or have not been in money laundering cases, then most probably he can be reliable at some point. But we all know how huge amount of money can be a root of evilness, that even a very honest person can hardly resist it. Just don’t trust other person when it comes to money, but manage it on your own to secure your funds 24/7.

If anyone knows that he is not too good with keeping someone's money in his custody then he should avoid it with all alacrity because if he does then he will definitely put himself in a very big debt that he can't even pay. And he is a gambler in this matter. We gamblers have one funny mindset that when someone's money is in our custody then we would say let me borrow $40 to gamble and win the game balance back and use the profit to enjoy but irony caught us up in most cases. And they would not even think of if they lose where would they have the money to pay back.

Addiction in gambling and having no control over your emotions can really make you do crazy things as what the OP has said.

Coming from professionals, to simple folks and plebs, there can be situations that we can expect that an addicted gambler will spend the money that they are not theirs.

Being responsible comes with a reputation that you bring to the people depending on the work or trade that you do. If you can't control yourself and you are touching people's money, you'll be ending up as a scammer. No problem if you lose entirely your money because it's yours and you are the one that has spent it but if it's other's money then it's a different story.

These are some basic principles one should follow in gambling. In any situation, he or she should not use others money to gamble. We might feel good, as we have the capital to gamble and make a win. Also, people used to be more confident that they could win something out of the money and return it. This won't be successful, and the outcome has killed many people. Even in my personal life, I've suffered from it. A friend of mine gave me a little money as he felt it might be used for unwanted needs, but I gambled and lost. I didn't know what to do, and later, I borrowed from another person and settled with him. If I had informed him that I lost it on gambling means, surely that'd hurt him, and the friendship might've come to an end.

Op this is actually true and i don't really know what is causing this problem of  mis management of funds, it is quite recurring in the society and it has become very common, most times you will send a teenager on an errand he will end up using the money to play bet and when you ask him his reasons for his  actions he will not give you any reasonable response. but in a way i realized that it is because of addictions and most of the people that indulge in such acts are addicted gamblers and can never control their feelings and urge when it comes to gambling.

keeping someone's money in other hand is very tempting especially when it is entrusted in the hands of chronic gamblers because they would like to use the money to play in a way to double it later run but they will end up losing the whole money to betting shops or casino house, however, i would like to advice every gambler who is not friendly with keeping someone's money to abstain from it especially when his a chronic gambler because keeping money is very tempting.

What the OP said is correct. Mismanagement of money, especially through gambling, is often highlighted in the news.

And online gambling activities are very easy to get out of control quickly. Online gambling platforms are very easy to access. If you lose control, then everything can end at your fingertips. Online gambling platforms present and provide attractive offers such as bonuses and free spins which serve as further enticements of the players. If a person lacks self-control or is unaware of the risks, falling into this trap will pave the way for repeated losses without realizing the gravity of the situation.

And to prevent mistakes in money management, this largely depends on gaining in-depth insight into how to handle personal finances wisely. Setting budgets and limits for high-risk activities such as gambling, seeking help if you suspect an addiction, are actions that can help you to keep your financial well-being intact. Knowing the risks and negative consequences associated with gambling is key to protecting us from getting involved in this destructive cycle.

Its definitely not a wise thing to do, in this situation he could risk getting himself into a lot of trouble I would imagine. Its crazy how people find these loop holes in things that you can exploit and steal away whatever they want without any feeling of a guilty conscience. I suspect that these actions will come back full circle at some point.

The issue of money is very sensitive, so knowing or understanding exactly who we are entrusting our money to is a must and must be done, especially since this money involves many people.
If you entrust your money to the wrong person who likes to gamble, there is the potential for the money to be used for gambling. Indeed, initially the person had no intention not to use it and when his personal money ran out due to gambling and saw that there was money that was not his right, then he would have the opportunity to use it with the intention of borrowing it without anyone knowing and if he won he would replace it. And this often happens and in the end the money that doesn't belong to him runs out in an instant and he doesn't have the ability to return it which ends in violence and even being sued if the money is large. There are even people who take valuable items to make money and replace money that has been used for gambling and there are many other stories that end painfully.
In fact, if the person who entrusts the money knows that the person likes to gamble and always loses, then that person is also stupid because they don't think long enough about whether the money could potentially be used for gambling or not.

I remember what our father did with the money we borrowed from our stepbrother. He spent half of the money, which was supposed to be used for my sister's medical treatment after a motorcycle accident. I had entrusted the money to him because we didn't need it yet at that time. After a few days, when I was going to retrieve it to return it to the person we borrowed it from, he told me that he had used it for cockfighting gambling. He said he was persuaded by a gambling-addicted friend. Until now, our stepbrother doesn't know what happened.

I don't think that a simple advice like that will be effective for a person who is already involved and are addicted on some activities like gambling. They only care for their selves anyway and what they are showing to the people around them, are only lies in order to have their confidence to entrust their money with them. The second guy in the story is honest to admit that he didn't ran away with the money of the people but he still gambled it away, lol.

I think there is no difference with that. We think it's crazy because some of them are already earning a decent money and yet they still get caught by the gambling trap. We can only hope and pray that we won't be like them or we can now fully recovered and never fall on the same hole again, in case we are like that before.

Those stories are just a small sample of the huge amount of scams that happen all over the world, but most of them start on the same way, a person trusting a third party to keep their money safe instead of doing it themselves.

This is why I really believe that bitcoin is the future, as bitcoin could prevent several of those scams, and while it is true there are many scammers lurking around this market, in my opinion they succeed because most people do not really understand the ethos of bitcoin and how it works in a different way compared to fiat.

I think wherever the place is, whether it's FIAT or bitcoin. if we entrust it to a third party it will clearly be at risk. So it would be better if we kept our money. because we ourselves never know how third parties manage the money we entrust. for example, like the case above, which uses it for gambling. There are also other cases of people entrusting their bitcoins but instead they were taken away and disappeared without a trace.

For those who want to use gambling in a different way, the potential for major disasters is high. There are some gamblers who use a small amount of money in the industry for whom gambling will not create any obstacles. I've heard of cases where a gambler lost someone else's saving money by gambling. Some gamblers lost money gambling even after selling family property. Even teachers are doing this kind of work. I have heard some other cases where that a priest is also gambling. Gambling is not bad but if they don't acquire basic knowledge for gambling then gambling can bring big disaster for them.

Cases like this have happened several times and of course this is one form of negative impact, and things like this will give bad view or perception of gambling and the gamblers themselves.
But the problem is that things like this are not the fault of gambling but the fault of those who cannot control themselves and only follow excessive ambitions and desires when gambling.
They lose control, forget their limits and make decisions that are really reckless and too bold, but all of this gives them really deep feeling of regret because they used money that wasn't meant to be used for gambling.

I think if gamblers would learn to control themselves, be emotional and also be able to limit themselves when gambling then all cases like that would never happen.
But it will be difficult because they have the belief that they will win and get back the money they have used, this belief or mindset is the start of mistake that often occurs.

And also, don't gamble on the money that came from another source. Just like what the OP said about a post he saw, losing money from gambling is one of the biggest problems, and it will be even bigger if that money came from someone because you only doubled your debt and losses. I'm sure anyone could become crazy at that.

In terms of third-party casinos or any third parties that you need to use your money for fiat or crypto currency, it's important to know first if that application or website is safe to use and if it doesn't have any history of scamming or complaints when it comes to money. In short, you need to become too cautious about what you use and who you trust your money with, because there's no recovery of money if your money loses to those platforms, so it's very important to secure the platform you will use and also make sure it is trusted.

I wonder if he is going to get lawsuits or threats coming his way, now that everyone knows that their money is gone.

This is why you should not be managing anybody's money if you are a problem gambler. It will cause more harm than good.

The profit that he could've made if he won is irrelevant. He should never have gambled with public community funds in the first place.

I can't stop thinking about people who dare to use other people's money to gamble in their gambling, can they not think clearly? or are they really stupid? even though it's clear that it's not their own money, don't they think about how to get it back if what they bet on ultimately loses? they shouldn't be careless in doing that, it's better to use their own money, the loss of which they can bear, rather than bear the burden of bearing the loss of other people's money and make other people also feel at a loss and I think people like that don't deserve to be trusted anymore. to hold other people's money because they reflect a bad character.

They must be responsible for using other people's money to gamble and don't just let it go, it is their own fault that must be held responsible if they cannot pay it off, it is better to take it to legal action so that it can be given a deterrent effect because they have been careless. Using other people's rights to gamble, especially if the amount of money is very large, is not an accident, but they do it on purpose.

I would not call all of them stupid. Many of them are reckless and desperate. But there are some who does not have enough or spare money, when they feel like they are going to win. I find it wrong to call everyone who borrow money for gambling as stupid. Many are, but, there are also those who succeed. For example in football sports betting, not always casino closes possibility to place bet on a win, even if one team has scored 4 times in first half. It is clear that second team will definitely lose, and there is always chance that the team will play back. So some people find it ok to take a huge risk and bet with <1.10 odd with borrowed money.

This is worst for a person affected with this certain scenario, due to trust issues that's why money mismanagement happens. Same with the one who managed the money, people entrusted that funds thinking that it would be safe in their friend's custody that turns out nightmare.
The huge mistake is the wrong mindset of quick rich idea, which this student found through social media and other crypto ads circulating online, it could be from trading or gambling. I feel pity to those affected students, because I myself experienced the same thing but not with gambling issue but due to personal interest.

Some people are so addicted to gambling such that they don't even have a conscience about something that belongs to another and if you ask me I will say this is a form of stealing by tricks and anyone who mismanaged others people's funds to play gamble should be punished severely. Back in the days when I was steal in the village, a man from my community was arrested for a crime he didn't commit and was charged to court and the family of the man gave the man's cousin some money to give to a lawyer that wanted to perfect the man's bail terms only for this his cousin to divert the money into gambling and he lost all the money in the process, when the family found out that was what he did the beat him up severely ever since then he has never entered a gambling hall again.

Gambling is a game of risks so you have to only risk what belongs to you and not to use other people's money to play gamble because if you lose it the consequences awaits you so if you don't have means of raising money to gamble just forget about it at that time till you have money of your own.

I don't know what's wrong that the person that managed the money of those students but I don't think that they've ever done anything wrong not to mention that those students know what they were in for when they've given that money to those people, pretty sure that you'd see some kind of common sense thrown out there like, it's risky to do that but they did it. It's never a good idea to entrust your money to someone unless it's a bank that does those funds where they pool the client's money to buy stocks, I will never side with people like that especially if there's no forcing to entrust that money to that person, then it's clearly wrong to do it.

The only time that I would give my money to someone to grow it in gambling is when the player is high level poker player like Negreneau or Tom Dwan but other than that, never entrust your money to anyone for gambling, it doubles the risk and you don't get the excitement and happiness of gambling.

It is almost like this, we see such cases happening regularly around us where a friend borrows money from another friend and they do various things with that money but later when that friend wants the money back he is unable to return the money. Again there are cases where a few friends have set up a business but among those friends the one who is responsible for the money neglects his responsibility and spends the money on his own needs. When one spends the money of all the friends and does not tell, but later there is trouble between them and many unpleasant incidents are seen with this trouble. Each of us should be careful about this from our own position and we must make sure that we do not have the slightest greed for other people's money.

that is the risk of entrusting money to someone else, that at any time the money could be misused by the person holding the money. i remember some time ago someone opened a thread here and discussed a child who carelessly used money entrusted to him by his parents. he used the money on gambling in the hope that he could earn more money by gambling with the money, but what happened was that he lost all the money and he didn't know what to do next. that is one example of how gambling can mislead someone because they think that they can gamble the money they hold, but in the end they lose it all. because it is not appropriate for someone to use other people's money just for gambling, because it is very risky and at any time they can lose the money.

Gambling does not know what conscience more especially when addiction is involved, aside gambling, many people are scared to spend other persons money in their possession, give them money today to hold for you ask them tomorrow they will have a lot of excuses to present to you, mate, you should know that such laws cannot be in existence because even rich people do this too the only difference is that they will pay may be gradually or seek for immediate fund to pay, in the case you narrated, there are individuals you will beat like that, it will trigger them to gamble more, gambling has a way of ruining person if not controlled but all depends on the individual gambler, if we notice that someone is a gambler, giving such person public or personal money to keep is very risky because gamblers believe that sure odd exist and thats why they fall into temptation most times.

When was people's money is something that we can take easily? :D

I always being carefully when someone hand their money or something to me because it's risking my reputation, if I return their money or something that damaged or not same anymore, they might complain and say something bad about me to other people.

Sometime, the best jobs for gamblers are jobs that doesn't have any relation with financial.

Your opinion is very wise and I also agree with that because we have to be more careful and not just trust other people when it comes to finances, if someone else gives us a loan of money easily for us to use for gambling, it's clear We have to be careful because it could be a trap for us because it is impossible for someone to really sincerely lend us money just to gamble.
And we have to be more wary of other people because money can create new problems in our lives if we don't clearly know where the money comes from.

Manage other people finance is difficult because there will be many tempts that will comes to us and we can use that money for anything that can caused us in trouble. We don't have to try to do that thing if we feels that we can't manages or saves other people's money because we can gets a problems. If we knows gambling and often playing gambling, we can use that money to playing gambling without thinks what's the impact from what we do. Once we knows gambling, we will difficult to stay away from that unless we have a strong self control and we knows that playing gambling can makes us in trouble. That's why if we wants to playing gambling, we must not use other people's money because if we lose that money, we must repay that money to prevents the trouble. It will be more safe if we use our money and responsible with that money from the big lose so we can enjoy playing gambling moderately.

It's better to keep it to yourself and then when you have a family then you can share all the asset information with the people you love which in my opinion will be more useful and of course still put the trust you have placed in it and he must continue to look after it well.

Using other people's money for your own good is considered theft either no matter where or how you use that money.
It is a very big responsibility to manage someone else's money and belongings because it can be so stressful because it's simply not yours and any small inconvenient that could occur might not be acceptable.

I think that people should look a lot in the background and history of the person they want to trust their money with, even if that person is a relative or a close one.

Gambling addiction might push someone to do such act thinking they are able to double the money they bet with and give back the money they used and earn more for themselves  which is completely wrong and can put that person into a lot of trouble, so it is very best to gamble with your own money.

Well I will have a controversial agreement with this your saying of using people money as theft, we are all human and we seek to strive in making Life better by means of investment, if a friend keep money in your hand and is not ready to invest and you can meet up his date for the money when he proposed of using it, if the the owner is aware there is nothing wrong it because become a theft when all this was carried out without the knowledge of the owner and failure of providing the money as at when needed. I am pointing my references from our fiat bank it's they same system of operations those they deposit money their money is used to do business by loaning it to heavy contractors or investors without the knowledge of depositor they are not considered as thief because when you need it you can still get your money as it happens today in our nation most bank don't won't give the amount you requested as they will say there is no money calling such a theft  is contradictory.

The problem is that you will not know if the person that you are keeping your money with will not be capable of keeping it safe. If we all know that person is not capable, we will never entrust our funds with them. It is when they have used the money and cannot provide it when we ask is when you will know that you gave the wrong person your funds to keep.

An addicted gambler is an irresponsible person, and such people will always used any funds that is in their custody be it their or not to gamble, believing that they can double it, because they want to keep on chasing their losses.

There is another one that I read today that people thought he ran away with people's money but he later confessed that he lost it to gambling. It is about a solana-based cypher developer, he confesses that he lost $300K of user funds to gambling.
I have had someone who worked for me squander away money meant for a job on gabling on virtual games. He used it all to satisfy his gambling addiction and went into hiding for two weeks. It was after he was arrested by the police that we discovered that he used the money for gambling.

If you know yourself to have a serious gambling problem, you have no business being in custody of people's money for them. The money you should be in custody with should be your own money, so that in case you succumb to the temptation of gambling, you will not be risking other people's money that you have in your possession.

If you know another person who has a gambling problem, you should avoid trusting them with money.

Just to add on what OP mentioned, there are even cases where people would also loan money in order to satisfy their gambling urges. They have this false sense of hope where they think they can hit the jackpot or at least double to triple their initial deposit. But in reality, they only put themselves in a more difficult situation as their debts compound increasingly with each bet that loses in the process.

Using other people's money for your own good is considered theft either no matter where or how you use that money.
It is a very big responsibility to manage someone else's money and belongings because it can be so stressful because it's simply not yours and any small inconvenient that could occur might not be acceptable.

I definitely agree with your statement.

Not only is it considered theft, but these are signs that a person definitely succumbed to gambling addiction. I also read stories where people would use their own savings and even their tuition fee for gambling. After losing, they become problematic on how they can recover these loses as they are definitely in a very conflicted situation.

This is very correct but I think in so many cases, the people who have gambling addictions have made so many mistakes of accepting to keep money for people when they know the sickness they are suffering from which is gambling addiction, a similar incident has also occurred where someone was intrusted with a certain amount of money that is meant for the committee of friends where he is a member but when the committee requested the money the young man was know where to be found but when he was later held by the people he confessed that he used money to play 2odd thinking that he will double the money.

I think the best thing to do right now before leaving money in the hands of anyone is to do a proper investigation especially asking people around him or her to find out if the person is a gambling and if you discover that he or she is a gambling do not intrust your money into such person to avoid excuses.

this shouldn't always be shifted to gambling to be honest.

That is the last level of addiction, believing you can double anyone money that is not yours,no matter how close to you the person or entity is gambling these persons or entities funds is something not acceptable.Usually people have ended up just like this guy except that they have been having more dramatic consequences, they killed themselves, quite some of them as they didn't bear the shame of such happening and losing all of such funds into gambling.

I would never borrow money to gamble or even worse using this money without permission except money that is mine,I can lose every single penny that is mine trying to hit it big but never with anyone else money as history has shown us that 99.99% of cases end really bad.

If you borrow from someone and you say the money will be used for gambling then the borrower will not give it to you because he knows that money for gambling is unlikely to be returned within the due date, considering that most gambling is losing.

Until now I have never borrowed money for gambling because I know this is bad to do, so set aside a little money for fun at the casino then it will be better and not make your financial situation worse.

Yes, it's true that there is no history of them borrowing money ending up sweet, but I saw some cases before where rich people fell into poverty because of spending money on gambling.

For me the casino is for fun with $20 without any borrowed money it is more than enough and I can afford to lose $20 in gambling because this will not ruin my finances.

I have read many news that someone will mismanage people's money. I read one about a university student some years ago that gambled with the money contributed by his course mates. The main reason that is causing the money mismanagement is either trading or gambling, but I read more about gambling online. Some can be because of other reasons.
I see no reason why you should use the money kept in your custody for anything. Both trading and gambling are not things you should think you can do and make quick money from easily, so don’t risk money kept in your custody for things like this. Most people think when they trade, they can easily make money from it, so when money is kept with them, they will always want to make use of the opportunity, but they don’t know trading is not that easy, things can easily go against them, and they will be losing money.

Also, gambling is not something that should be done for the sake of money, if you are gambling, there are always higher chances of losing money. Don’t be too confident with your bet, anything can happen when gambling, so make sure you use your money to gamble, and it should be done with any amount you can afford to lose.

Gambling is something that can come with either good money or bad in such a way that it will discomfort you and you may hand problems with a lot of people because you have lost gamble because of one or two issues and some problems that you have bring to yourself, you should only take risk with something that you know that belongs to you and it is not advisable to put your money at risk too, but don’t ever do it with public money or else you get a public problem.

Yeah, the money isn't yours to begin with.  That's the thing - you're meant to be taking care of it, not treating it like a gamble.

I get why people think playing the markets or gambling seems like some golden ticket.  But that glossy fantasy rarely matches reality and  more often than not, its just a roll of the dice and people get overconfident and then, poof! Their cash vanishes faster than a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat.  Absolutely stupid.

Best thing is stick to handling the money properly and carefully like you're supposed to.  No tricks or gambles.  Just responsibility.

Every gambler I am sure they know and understand what you are saying, they know the risks of gambling but still fall into addiction. The problem is that cases like this often happen because they can't think clearly and can't control themselves so they use other people's money to gamble. They usually understand how to gamble but don't understand how to control gambling, so gambling controls them. This is what makes gambling dangerous.

There were several cases in my country and this made television news. A gambler embezzles his employees' wages to gamble in the hope of using the money to pay off his debts. In the end, the employee's salary was all wiped out because he lost gambling. This is what is called irresponsible gambling, he gambles without using common sense because his mind has a very acute addiction so he will not think about the impact that will occur in the future with the decisions he makes. It is important to learn to control yourself when gambling so that things like this don't happen and it is true as you said, betting with money that you are ready to lose.

It is obviously overconfidence that makes most gamblers gamblers with amounts they cannot afford to lose. They trust their gambling skills so much that they are so certain that at the end of the gambling session, they will be doubling the amount they gambled with. The interesting thing about gambling is that, it is full of surprises, it can give you the shock of your life when you least expected it. Every gambler knows that gambling is all about luck, yet some gamblers will choose to take risks that that might end up ruining their lives. Only smart gamblers can succeed in gambling. Gambling with loan money, stolen money and money or properties entrusted under your care is not smartness.

Before someone would even gamble with another person funds, it means that gambler isn't really ready or serious because if he knows the percentage rate of actually achieving success in Gambling then he would probably not go through with that type of action at all. If someone is of the mentality that his gambling habits is strictly for fun and entertainment then gambling with the amount he can be able to lose is definitely going to be his theme thought because aside from that, loses he would get can affect if especially if the money isn't his own money.

Most often, those who take other people's money for gambling enjoy the trust of others. In my old group of friends, there was a case when one person lost the money and did not return it.Yes, there was a big scandal, but it did not come to legal proceedings; he took a very long time to repay the debt because when it was a great friendship. Most likely, those who are already addicted to gambling more often turn to deceive their loved ones because they are more trustworthy.

Trust would be surely be broken on the time that there would really be that form of abuse via having those non permitted kind of spending with those funds specially if it wasn't yours.
Trust would surely broken in between friends or even with your loved ones or with your co-works or to those whom you are really that dealing off with. This is why when dealing up with gambling then
try your best not to make yourself that getting addicted because on the moment that you would really be dealing up with gambling and you are on a condition on which you've been holding something
like being entrusted with those funds whether it do belongs to your friend or with those office funds then the temptation is really that high and this is something you would be needing up that extreme control.

Yes, I was aware of the case of that student who gambled with the money of his coursemates. I was also aware of the woman whose son used her money to gamble, and the bet was lost. It ended up that the money was not even her mom's own but rather the money she was holding for someone. There was also another one where the student lost his school fee money to gambling; he got depressed and committed suicide.

There are many of these stories, bro. The one that happened in my place was that a civil engineer used the money allocated for a house project to gamble, and he lost the money and ran away. I don't wish to have this kind of experience because I have already learned from the mistakes of others, but I really do wonder why people will just lose their minds to take this kind of risk and don't even do it with their own money. So bad.

I have encountered many cases like this. Taking advantage of the name of an individual or company to raise capital from others, with the promising is to pay high interest or bring high profits when investing to some potential projects . I see that most of these forms of raising money are scams, if not in this form, it will be in another form. This case happens a lot in the crypto market when they mobilize other people's money to buy tokens which is selling private or receive entrusted investments, then they use that money to play futures, and lose all that money.

After those incidents happened, those who lost money could only ask the community to spread the news to hope the scammers would return the money, but most of them could not get it back. I usually stay away from forms of raising money or contributing money like this, it has too many potential risks and I have to depend on other people's decisions, while it is the money I have worked hard to earn.

Gambling addiction will not just ruin our financial status but also our reputation and trust. Yes, a lot of stories where people use money for the group/company due to gambling habits. A lot of stories that a person commits a crime (stealing), has huge debts and sells properties in order to sustain their gambling needs.

I couldn't say gambling is bad, it only depends on the gambler. If we can't handle our gambling habits, it leads to a worse and regrettable ending.
We don't need to wait for that moment before we change our approaches, instead do it responsibly now.

~snip~

I would not call all of them stupid. Many of them are reckless and desperate. But there are some who does not have enough or spare money, when they feel like they are going to win. I find it wrong to call everyone who borrow money for gambling as stupid. Many are, but, there are also those who succeed. For example in football sports betting, not always casino closes possibility to place bet on a win, even if one team has scored 4 times in first half. It is clear that second team will definitely lose, and there is always chance that the team will play back. So some people find it ok to take a huge risk and bet with <1.10 odd with borrowed money.
But this is not borrowed money, but people's money which is temporarily entrusted by people who are really trusted to hold the money, but it turns out that people they trust can maintain their trust but instead betray and use the money for gambling, it doesn't matter if they borrow money from the lender or the bank therefore covers them themselves with collateral for their goods, but if they use people's money, this is money that will be used by the government, but why do these irresponsible people use it? Isn't it appropriate if they are called stupid? the reason is that they have thoughts but they don't use them well and only think about their own interests.

Sorry if I am too harsh in speaking but it is a fact that people who cannot be trusted deserve to be said like that because they cannot think intelligently before acting, I am very angry to see the behavior of people like this even though there are other ways to do it gambling, namely borrowing money from loan sharks so that he can support himself or it is better to work so he can earn money and use it to gamble rather than using government money.

Difficulty handling other people's belongings You will have a lot of responsibility when using someone else's money and belongings you have to try to return him in time. If you take something from your relatives if you do not fulfill everything with responsibility the relationship will be destroyed. That's why you should carefully consider everything before managing other people's money to spend on things that have a chance of success. There is no real guarantee of making money in gambling once it becomes an addiction you will never be able to pay it back in time by handling other people's money and it will cause trouble.

Such incident is very sad that misuse of other people's money should not be done at all only those who are addicted to gambling can do such misuse. We have seen many such cases where people gamble and trade with the money deposited by others only in the hope of short term profit. But their get rich schemes never materialize instead they lose money and one time they run away when the money is to be returned to another they cannot return. So I think this kind of money should not be misused it is worst practice to ever go into gambling with other people's money. We all know gambling is a risky place where people lose their money most of the time and can't recover that money later. When a person enters into gambling by borrowing money from another person, he should think that he will be in great trouble if he loses the money. However, many gambling addicts do not think this way, but abuse other people's money and easily lose their money at a time when they run away, so it is most important to avoid this type of abuse.

I think a person's mind must be completely clouded with greed and thoughts of winning a lot of money for them to take such steps. A sane person with the right mindset would never use someone else's money for gambling knowing that there are more chances of them losing it than winning anything with it because that's how the nature of gambling is.

Every person who loses someone else's money in gambling must have initially thought that they will make more than what they are given and then they will return the money to the owner and keep the remaining funds for themselves but what happens is they lose it all and then regret doing that, some would even take severe steps after that such as suicide, etc.

I have read many news that someone will mismanage people's money. I read one about a university student some years ago that gambled with the money contributed by his course mates. The main reason that is causing the money mismanagement is either trading or gambling, but I read more about gambling online. Some can be because of other reasons.
In the end, we can already guess and the use of this money will never work out well for him. In fact, in further cases the student will have much bigger problems. I have also heard of certain people who mismanaged people's money and tried to gamble because they thought they could make more money, but in the end they had problems with the law because the money was used up in gambling.

There is another one that I read today that people thought he ran away with people's money but he later confessed that he lost it to gambling. It is about a solana-based cypher developer, he confesses that he lost $300K of user funds to gambling.
There are always interesting stories of people admitting they misused other people's money and even we will hear justifications that never make sense. Please gamble but don't use other people's money and scale your gambling responsibly so that it doesn't cause problems in the future. There are no good results from using other people's money in gambling or vice versa using your own money, but being responsible for your involvement in gambling is very important.

It was not "money mismanagement", it was fraud - plain and simple. That money was under their control for an assigned purpose, when they decided to take it and fritter it away on gambling, they did so with dishonest intent. It was driven by greed, they thought they could beat the system and ultimately got eaten up by it. It's hard to have any sympathy for them, as they probably had multiple chances to stop early on but kept pushing through with disastrous results. I feel sorry for the many people who will have to go without now, as one person tried to take a shortcut to wealth against odds that were stacked against them.

Absolutely right. When someone takes money that's been entrusted to them and uses it to gamble, that ain't just bad management - it's fraud, plain and simple.  Theres a clear difference between making a dumb investing decision with good intentions versus intentionally taking what isn't yours to score big at the casino.  This developer sounds like a first-class moron and maybe even an addict who couldn't keep his impulses in check and  his boneheaded choice didn't just screw over those users directly, it makes the whole industry look bad.

He just git himself into a debt situation and that's why it's not advisable tonuse people's money to gamble cause you can end up putting yourself in much trouble, I think he needs to get himself some good self control lesson from this, no matter how profitable the option to gamble may seem its always risky and if the opposite happens you would surely regret it. It's also similar to borrowing money to gamble, I also find it quite absurd to do this cause gambling should be out of your disposable income not debt or as an expense.

I have also heard many stories about people who are so addicted to the game that they would take all the equipment out of the house to make a deposit and play again. I even knew someone who hit the jackpot and could pay off all his debts, but even this time he just treated all his friends, bought a lot of equipment, I mean phones and laptops. And it might not have ended so badly if he hadn't gone back to gambling and then handed over all that equipment and deposited it.

And they are the ones who will use their money to gamble, and in the end, they will lose all their money. But because greed had set in, he ended up using his money to gamble, and unfortunately, he lost a lot of money. He should have known that gambling will not provide money easily and can result in the loss of money for investors and people.

There is also case that college student killed his friend because he losses in trading and there are also case people sold everything to fueled his gambling addiction that is crazy IMO

I am curious though, what do you mean when you say people get killed when they have lost the money of others. Was it because mob justice, some personal murder, or was it because the people usually ask mafias/criminal syndicates for money?
I am curious because here in my country, while one indeed can get killed because of loans, it must take dealing with the wrong people for one to get killed with money. It has to be a big enough quantity.
Since our cultures must be very different from one another, I would like to elaborate on those cases you are taking about, how much it was borrowed how it was lost, about whether there were interest rates or not, among other things.

It is very sad how people can end up because of allowing greet to carry on and devoure them completely .

I want to get this correctly. The person that traded with the money killed his friend? Or a trader used his friend's money to trade and his killed him for that? Both are not good but I will like to know who killed who?

We should be very careful of trading and gambling. They are both very risky. It would have happened before the trader or gambler will start blaming themselves.

That's why we condemn the act of someone who is not up to age to participate in gambling, participating in gambling is something different and you will not understand the scenario when you are not earning your own money, some of us today that mismanaged money is people that is up to twenty five years of age, a student have much needs and they don't give student money to hold for long time because their is every possibility that he or she can mismanaged the funds at any point in time, so I will not blame the student because if you are in school you will think that gambling is the best place to make your own money

Using someone else's money instead of using your own money to gamble means you are borrowing and asking for blessings, which is very risky. If you lose your money, you will not be held responsible. But if you use someone else's money to gamble and lose, you will later have to pay back money that you cannot because you did not earn it yourself. so these should be avoided. Because there is no guarantee that you will win at gambling as it depends entirely on luck. so using other people's winnings despite not having your own earnings is the biggest stupidity and a big wrong decision

The safest way to handle people's money is placing it Iin another account that you don't visit regularly. To some extent, out of sight is out of consideration and not necessarily out of mind. When people have regular encounter with funds that's not theirs, but in their custody, their subconscious mind always involves such funds in consideration when any fund enabled activity crosses their mind.

Normally, funds are given to people on trust and when these things happen, its not only about the funds lost, but the trust broken which can almost never be built back, its irrational for him to have meddled with people's funds in his activity, but what can't addiction lead to?. Its obvious he's addicted to have sequentially thrown such an amount into gambling without pause or rethink.

Reducing contact with entrusted funds have saved me a whole lot of face in life, from accountability issues to maintaining financial integrity.  I don't use my transaction accounts for such funds, I use an account I almost don't use and at times I even forget there's funds there until its demanded.

This betting a lot of money that does not belong to the person but to others is something that cannot be done, I have seen that there are many scammers on telegram when they tell people to put in 100usd or an amount and then they pump and dump and if they win They give them a lot of money, so that is something that is not true, now in casinos there are people who do similar things because I have not seen much, although that could be an initiative for Players to say that they are successful. They need capital to play, so That is something we should avoid, it is Always better to play with our money, or if you trust someone with money, then let it be at risk and with all things.

It’s hard to trust anyone with your money, not unless you have the guarantee and security that you can still get your money even if the market didn’t favor your investment. If you are going to depend to any person to handle your money, then you can expect that you’re at risk because it’s possible to misuse that money and yeah if that person is into gambling, then there’s also a chance that he will use it for his gambling activities.

There is another one that I read today that people thought he ran away with people's money but he later confessed that he lost it to gambling. It is about a solana-based cypher developer, he confesses that he lost $300K of user funds to gambling.
There's always an effect of nurturing a habit that you either cannot finance or stop at will.

I wouldn't dare to gamble away my hard-earned funds, talkmore of buying the idea with people's fund. If there's ever been a time y'all think you can gamble away the funds and get an overflow, that you can replace them back and have a little or more profits to spare, then that's a lie!

I want to get this correctly. The person that traded with the money killed his friend? Or a trader used his friend's money to trade and his killed him for that? Both are not good but I will like to know who killed who?
Whatever the case might be, it's just too risky to entrust your funds in people's custody.. I've read about cases that a man got kidnapped when he asked for a refund of his own money - they killed him without a ransom.

Gambling is something that can come with either good money or bad in such a way that it will discomfort you and you may hand problems with a lot of people because you have lost gamble because of one or two issues and some problems that you have bring to yourself, you should only take risk with something that you know that belongs to you and it is not advisable to put your money at risk too, but don’t ever do it with public money or else you get a public problem.
that is why we don't need to borrow money when gambling because gambling is a game of luck you don't know if probably will lose in gambling or not so anyone who is in to gambling is not supposed to borrow money to gamble because gambling is one can deadly something that you may lose and someone you borrow the money will not know if you have Lose or not and they will ask you for payment

These kind of stories aren't new. It's just sad that their gambling addiction had brought them this far that they're willing to sell their dignity because they can't control no longer their addiction and emotion towards it. And that's why even they are aware that it's not their money, they're going to use it and willing to use it and take the consequences later that they're not going to like. It is a criminal offense if you're in an organization and this is considered as stealing, the accused might be lucky if the companies or people that they've stolen those money won't file a case against them.

But most of them will say, "they need to learn a lesson the hard way". And we can't blame them for having that mindset because it's pestering them and their business for doing so. That's why if you are feeling that you can't stop your addiction or you can't control yourself towards gambling. It is best for you to start contemplating with your actions because the impact of it might be a life changing result for your life in a negative way that you'll regret later on.

What you've said is true, there are people that are being taken over by their greed and will careless about other people's hard earned money because their priority is their addiction.
That greed, not being content with what the person has, is really a vital reason why most people take other people's money, which was either handed over to them to either keep or use for something else.

Their greed will push them to use the money to try out luck if the game will play and they will have something left with them, and if they lose the game and time to pay back reaches, they start given excuses of not knowing what came over them.

It has never been ethical to use someone's money. There have been different cases about misuse of other people's fund.

It is very sad how people can end up because of allowing greet to carry on and devoure them completely .
You've misspelled "greed" mate but that's fine. What you've said is true, there are people that are being taken over by their greed and will careless about other people's hard earned money because their priority is their addiction.

Blame my digital keyboard, mate. But thanks for pointing it out, I don't like making typos here in the forum.
You know, if we talk about greed and the effect it has on people it is quite remarkable how it does not only apply to casinos, gambling and betting. It also applies to other characteristics of life which may seem bot to involve money much in a direct way, but still people they caught in greed and commit serious mistakes.

For example, when I was in highschool there was some drama going on there in the director's office, because one of the assistances of the owner of the school had started to take money from the accounts of the school, basically stealing money from the owner, little by little. He got kicked out the job, but he did not get arrested or imprisoned at all. That is one of the earliest stories I can recall about greed messing with people judgment.

If you know of someone who gambles, then it's very important that you study such kind of a person and be careful on how you make a financial deal with people like that who gambles, am not saying that every gamblers are the same, but whenever we are having deals that have to involve money, then we cannot even trust ourself not to talk of trusting on others to deliver as we have expected with our money with them.
In my opinion, it is very unreasonable if we have a financial agreement with people who have a gambling habit or have experienced a gambling addiction, even though not all gamblers are the same, it is possible that when they want to gamble and don't have money, it is very easy for them to take the money that we have agreed to. with them for business purposes and if they can't win their bet of course the money is very difficult for them to replace, so I think it would be better for us not to trust them in this matter if we don't want things that we don't want to happen.

His statement on X:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/10ta9quGGrmTNE1Pi7MlgLgSx9zxEqQdkbBfis1pmHrM/mobilebasic
Rule of thumb, if it's money taken from friends, taken from credit, or taken from loved ones, it's not your money, and you have no rights spending it, even if these people tell you that it's yours, have the self-discipline and respect to not use that money as funds to indulge in gambling, be a better person.

Some people succumb to gambling addiction and find themselves asking for money from other people, in worse case even going so far as to steal money or take out loans they have no business of paying off just so they can get their fix and be able to gamble, it's a one-way ticket to hell and it's definitely going to cost you a lot in the long run if you keep up with this kind of lifestyle, worst yet, you'll end up estranging your family members, friends, and getting yourself massive criminal liabilities in the long run.

It's never worth it to take out loans or to steal money just so you can fund your gambling urges, be the smarter person and make sure you don't end up spending money you don't have businesses spending.

Will never be advisable.
Embrcing that much of risk is definitely a problem. Imaagine losing it, period. You will not only be required to pay it but also, the person or organization who owns it might also file a case against you.  You may simply think of it like this; if same thing happened to your money wherein someone you trusted will use it without your consent and him being irresponsible, how would you feel? Isn't it normal to be mad about it?

I don't really understand why there are people who doesn't think that much on the consequences of their actions as if they have control or assurance of winning. Even the slighest amount of other people's money, we have no rights to make use of it  for our own benefit. If it's not yours then never do anything on it. Limit yourself with what you know belongs to you. The rule is just plain and simple.

Many temptations come to people who are already holding other people's money. It happens to many people and those who do not have strong self-control and want to grow their money will do many things that are not right. And they are the ones who will use their money to gamble, and in the end, they will lose all their money. Such people are greedy because they see an opportunity to use other people's money without thinking that people are entrusting their money to them to save and use for things they have planned. But because greed had set in, he ended up using his money to gamble, and unfortunately, he lost a lot of money. He should have known that gambling will not provide money easily and can result in the loss of money for investors and people.
Holding other people's money and using it for gambling is a wrong practice and is influenced by the desire to make money bigger. But in the end they experienced conditions beyond their predictions and the money was used up for gambling without control. Whatever the reason, taking other people's money and using it for any purpose is still wrong, unless we get permission to use it, even though in the end we lose the money due to misuse.

It was more of an addiction and he used the money to gamble without thinking. When someone is addicted, it will be much more difficult to control themselves, especially if they use other people's money. This must be avoided because using other people's money will be very risky to lose and we will have problems in the future.

Usually, such games with borrowed money also result in a loss of trust in the player from the one who lent this money. I knew a person who borrowed money from anyone he could for various reasons, since many people did not know that he was a gambling addict with problems. The story ended with that he had to move and start his life all over again because where he lived he had just a terrible reputation and a huge pile of debts.

Yes, people like that should be avoided, it's no wonder that many people leave them and even expel them, people like that are like parasites that harm the people around them, in my personal environment there are also several people who borrow money to gamble, even I was deceived by him, he said he wanted to buy food but was used for gambling, I found out about it from my other friend who was with him, it was disappointing, and even worse he never paid his debt to this day.

Moreover, if using other people's funds in large amounts, such as pool funds or donations for more useful things, then used for gambling, really for me will curse people like that, it doesn't deserve to be in my environment, not that I don't want to help release it from addiction but it's beyond my limits if it has used other people's funds for gambling, gambling can damage the sane human brain, if the human itself cannot realize what gambling is, a place to have fun for the rich cannot be used as a place to make money for the poor.

What’s most interesting is that I know that everything is pretty good with him today, he has a family and even children, and he is done with gambling. Anything that do get involved on getting some loan or borrowing money and the worst you are making use of others funds then this do signifies that you are addicted into something.Losing yourself in control on which minding about making use of others funds just to make yourself that being able to play gambling or whatever you are really that getting involved with. Doesnt mind much about on the reputation and view of other people on committing out such foolish action on which we know that it would really be that so shameful that you would really be using up others funds just to do on whats up into your mind or on the moment that you do like something. Specially on the moment or condition that you are already addicted to gambling then it would really be just that so possible or likely that you would be making out such situation.

The stupidest thing a gambler has ever done is gambling with other people's money
It sounds crazy and annoying, but people are really doing it. When money is kept with some people and they visit a casino house to gamble, after gambling with all their own money and losing, they might decide to continue gambling with the money that is kept with them, thinking that if they can win, they will be able to return the money. Addict gamblers are always confident that they are going to win if they don’t give up.

Some might just be confident about a bet,  if they don’t have money with them to place the bet, then they will decide to use the money that is kept with them. In gambling, you shouldn’t be too confident about a particular bet, anything can happen and you will be losing. If you are using the money that is kept with you, how are you going to repay the person? You have already lost your reputation with the person, which doesn’t make any sense to me.

Crazy things like this are only done by addicted gamblers, a responsible gambler won’t do things like this. That’s why we are supposed to keep on warning people to stay away from addiction.

When a person reaches that point then it is clear that not only they have a problem, but that their problem is getting out of hand, since gambling with the money another person has entrusted to you is not only a terrible idea, but you can lose way more than whatever money you were given.

After all, the number of people in which you can really trust is always on the low side, and losing one of those persons can carry terrible consequences, as when you are in real need of money, that person may decide to not support you just when you need it the most.

Yep, especially when it comes to loans and debts. Lending money to an irresponsible gambler is one of the worst mistakes one can make. They will borrow money from you, gamble it away, and forget about it like nothing has happened. Whenever you encounter them, they behave like they don't owe you anything, and you start to feel awkward asking for the money when you do it multiple times but they don't pay your money back.

This mostly happens with people that are within the family because, of course, you wouldn't lend money to an outsider without taking any guarantee that they are going to repay the loan on time, but your relatives can sometimes give you a hard time. So, it's important for one to know who they should say yes and whom to say no when it comes to lending money.

There are many cases of misusing other people's money for personal gain. There are many people who want to get rich quick by gambling with other people's money but on the other hand they lose the money borrowed or taken from others while gambling. No one is more foolish than those who gamble with borrowed money for their own benefit. Because he does not know that he can double his money by gambling, he can lose money (gambling is uncertain). If luck is good maybe he can make money from his gambling very few people can profit from gambling. Gambling is very risky and should be avoided as much as possible. Moreover, those who want to gamble should gamble with their own earned money, never gamble with loans as it will put you in more danger.

If you are a type of person whose really that greedy and easily get tempted when it comes to money then its better to avoid as much as you could. You will really be that likely
spending up others money if you do have the chance. How much more if you are someone whose addicted to gambling?  You would definitely be doing things on which it shouldnt be supposed to be done.
Spending up others money or company funds or not yours is really that putting up on a big or huge trouble or worst you would be facing up some legal issues and this is something that
you dont want to happen. Always separate your job or work from your leisure specially on spending or involves money because this is where problems do usually starts.

Exactly the pointed issues need deep attention, money is too attracting to such hand or trust on pereon with such hyper to gambling. But the most important thing one should be more careful why gambling mostly when the money is entrusted and you it can destroy trust.
This remind me the young man who take office of treasurer who squandered the money for club .

It might not necessarily mean they want to get rich before they make  such mistakes most times they are just being tricked by their minds that the money could be doubled and they have profit from it while the other persons money is still safe. Most persons fall under such tricks because they listened to the urge of double money. Some persons quite gamble with regrets that is if they could even beat themselves out of the idea of going back. Situations like this are the causes of why people see gamble as a bad or irresponsible behaviour towards the society.

When someone is addicted, it will be much more difficult to control themselves, especially if they use other people's money. This must be avoided because using other people's money will be very risky to lose and we will have problems in the future.
Greed and heavy addiction as well as high self-confidence in uncertain opportunities have made many gamblers lose the rationality of their mindset towards gambling. They make too risky decision about money, meaning they fail to think rationally about what the impact would be if they lost when they used other people's money.

It is absolutely not recommended to use other people's money to fulfill gambling needs, and it is not even recommended to get a loan to be able to gamble. My friend has felt the consequences of his serious gambling addiction, of course now the result is that he has to hide from being chased by the collector's department due to failing to pay his online loan.

Gambling with other people's money means borrowing gambling which is very risky and is done by those who are very addicted to gambling but have no money in their own pocket. and gambling addicts can never do anything good, they lose all their wealth due to excessive gambling and many fall into debt by using other people's money. This is definitely a bad habit and one who indulges in this habit will never be happy in life and lead a prosperous life.

I mentioned in another recent post, gamblers are gambling to make money and so the machine for making money being right in front of them, they would not stop to get money to put in that machine. This leads to spending from monthly salary, then moving to family members money and then to taking friends and then to loans and then to unscrupulous means.

This is why before a team is formed for any project, background checks and habits need to be checked for securing the future of the project. Unfortunately this is given little importance in such streams and hence such scandals happen every now and then, with exit scamming being the worst.

I have read many news that someone will mismanage people's money. I read one about a university student some years ago that gambled with the money contributed by his course mates. The main reason that is causing the money mismanagement is either trading or gambling, but I read more about gambling online. Some can be because of other reasons.

I think the students appointed the wrong person for money contribution, most often you don't give money a group money to a student who is into gambling, there is always a desire to use the money to gamble with the sense of paying back after winning the money. They are broke most of the time and gambling is the only thing the see as alternative to make money when they don't have alternatives to money.

There was a time in my school when we resumed Back to school but went to a month strike. After resumption, they found out that more than 50% of students couldn't pay their school fees later because they have consume everything and many were as a result of gambling, some of them didn't go home and when they became broke, they risk it to gambling.

Quote
There is another one that I read today that people thought he ran away with people's money but he later confessed that he lost it to gambling. It is about a solana-based cypher developer, he confesses that he lost $300K of user funds to gambling.

This one is strange, a whopping 300k into gambling only says one thing about the person, he is a pro gambler that is very addicted to gambling. If he has invested that money instead of gambling, he might accrue a loss but I'm bit sure everything would have finished so fast. If he has eaten the money, it will even pay him than gambled everything for nothing.

The stupidest thing a gambler has ever done is gambling with other people's money, gambling with his savings and gambling with borrowed money, gambling is actually an activity that has the potential to generate profits but pressure after pressure can make everything fail, I don't know what people think who gamble with money that they don't own, it's clear that greed is covering them so they don't think clearly, always remind your family not to gamble with money that doesn't belong to them.
This is not something strange because we see around where they borrow money for other reasons but the fact is that it is used for gambling because they are not satisfied with the previous game while their money has run out, so by borrowing with pity so that they are given a loan this is really immoral at all.

Whatever it is, it's their problem we have to be careful with anyone's money or leave it with friends or family because we never know that they are addicted to gambling, so from now on I never lend money to anyone for unclear reasons unless he borrows money because of the need to eat.

One of the things that is Really delicate is lending money or doing business with the family, with a member, and unfortunately that member is Irresponsible in the payment or something similar, because that becomes one of the most invasive things the internal fears that we have , I Don't have a good relationship with some of my Members Because Sometimes they are very selfish, and well, that kind of thing doesn't suit me, because I am not , in fact , the people who are around me I want that they are always making money or doing well, and if I have the Option of being able to make them win , then I tell them, but they are not like that , so that Stops me too.

Agree. It is stupid to use people's money to gamble. Moreover, the people don't know that we use their money for gambling. Playing gambling games should use safe money, never try to use people's money whether it is loan money or not loan money. I don't understand why people gamble with others' people money, if it is just for fun or try luck on gambling, it is enough to use small money, right? If it is just spending small money, it is no need to take other's people money. I think the gamblers who use people's money because they are addicted to gambling. They use big money since the gamble excessively. So I think this is not the case of greedy but this is a case of addiction. We must always remember that never gamble excessively to avoid addiction.

There are many people around us who prove themselves rich by keeping other people's money. A gambler does not know "how much money is worth?" What if the gambler knew the value of money? Then he would never even go near gambling. He who has no love for his wealth, how will he protect the wealth of others? I have seen many, I have seen many people, I have seen many gamblers, who think themselves rich by keeping other people's wealth for themselves, and ruin by gambling.

I think the main reason a new gambler gets addicted to gambling is his family and his friends. Family is a child's first educational institution. If a child does not get proper family education then he will go astray. Family is of immense importance for the mental development of a child. Families should teach a child the difference between right and wrong from an early age.

And one more thing, sef getting rich overnight by gambling is tantamount to nurturing stupidity in his own mind. Finally, I urge all gamblers to return to normal life.

I think it's rather unusual to want to gamble with all the money when you have a lot of them, someone else's. Our world is big and so you can find a lot of such people, but compared to majority I'd say they are exceptions. Most people know that losing in gambling is easier than winning and so they wouldn't risk big amounts of money. Risking the money that doesn't belong to you is just disgusting in my opinion, and I'm pretty sure most people hold that opinion.

Before you give someone's money to keep for you make sure that you you have trust in that person before giving the person money to hold for you sometimes it is us that refuse to understand human being before we give the person 100% Trust for me I must examine you very well before I can handle over anything that has to do with the finance to you so human being is unpredictable when he come in terms of money someone you think that will not disappoint you or will not mismanage things is the one that will mismanage forms I know right well that we have to understand the procedures of management before we give anyone to keep for us for long time or short time

Those things seem to be very common this days were people use the money they put under there care to gamble and at the end they lost the money and funny enough is only gambling that can  make someone behave that way, however I witness similar case of someone who was a Treasurer and was holding a huge money for there organization but based on what his friends told him that he has a very sure game that has 100% chance of playing so the guy decided to be greedy and use all the money that was given to him and use it to gamble and at the end he lost everything and he couldn't withstand the trauma he fainted.

So for me I believe one of the reasons why those things happen to them is because of greedy of trying to become rich overnight without knowing that there is no easy way to success so the moment most of them realized that the better for them because I'm still surprised how someone with his right mind will use a money that's being given to him by a group or organization to gamble when he knows that nothing is certain in terms of gambling and there is a higher chance of losing everything on the process.

This topic has an incorrect title, which should correctly read “be careful when giving money to other people”. This is what your short stories should teach us about people losing money entrusted to them in gambling. No matter under what plausible pretext people collect donations, keep in mind that the collected funds can easily be lost in gambling or trading.

"The main reason that is causing the money mismanagement", I would say, is not trading or gambling, but not the ability of people to control their greed (the desire to quickly make money using borrowed or other people's money).

And unfortunately not many people think rationally if it has been influenced by confidence to double money. Sometimes taking an uncertain risk is the same as making mistakes that should not be made, but the taste and mind become increasingly irrational because of the problem of greed that cannot be controlled. Other people's money is the same as debt and if we take it means we have to return.

Even in carrying out investment it is also not recommended to use other people's money, especially if used in gambling, but due to greed and the absence of responsibility makes people wrong in taking action. In the end they themselves get into trouble and have to pay other people's money after getting losses in gambling. Not to mention if they will get legal problems because they take what are not his and that will exacerbate life in the future.

It is always important and advisable for you to be careful with peoples money because you may end up in gambling out peoples money. When you are trying to find something for yourself you will put yourself in big danger and in big trouble because they trust you with student money or school, money, enough or any of the organization you just ask a camper you shouldn’t even involve yourself in holding any Monitor belong to public if you know you a gambler

I think the problem is that for some people it's easier, for some reason, to put at risk other people's money than their own. Maybe it's because they don't care about others, like, at all. Maybe we shouldn't necessarily consider them as addicted gamblers. Addicted gamblers risk their own money, and many of them would never risk other people's money because they don't want to hurt others. It's like entirely another level of negligence, and I believe not all addicted gamblers are capable of that.

People should check the background or character of the people they entrust their money with, but unfortunately, some people are so good at hiding their character that they only get exposed when the deed is already done.

Temptation is really high for people to take a chance on gamblers, especially if they see a match that they figure out could give them a sure win.

It is true that people should check the background of the individuals that they put in sensitive financial positions, so that they will not tamper with the money that is entrusted in their care. But this can be misleading because people can change after they get into a position of authority, like the guy in the OP, I'm sure that if they had known that he will tamper with the funds that is kept in his care, he wouldn't have been in that position and to gamble with the money that is not his. Money should only be put in the trust of people with proven intergity about monetary affairs.

People are driven by greed, to the extent of using money that is not theirs to gamble, in the hope of winning and replacing the capital, that is a very ridiculous idea because gambling is risky. In gambling it's either win or lose, and the chances of losing is greater, so it'll be very irresponsible for anybody to gamble with other people's money.

You are considering it as misuse but it could be the opposite of it if the person could win funds. Actually, those who are not gamblers or anything that the person doesn't know or doesn't have confidence then the person should not invest any funds. If the person invests then it is his/her own fault.

Using up others money? You would really be facing up that possible legal issues. This is why when it comes to those kind of jobs or positions then it would really be something that needs up that trustable person or employee
because when it comes to money, each one of us does have that different level of tolerance when it comes to temptation. This is why at the moment that you do find yourself on such position and you are involved with gambling then dont make yourself having that temptation on which i could say that it would really be something strong specially at the moment that you are already addicted to gambling then you are out of funds?
You would definitely be having that main thing in mind is to use up with those funds and would really be that putting it back but well its a suicide things.

Sooner or later at the moment that they have caught you on using up those funds without permission then you are really just that basically putting up yourself on such very big trouble and this is something that
must be avoided in the first place. If you are someone whose really that good when it comes to self control and discipline then you are really that fit out on the said position but
well we do know that each person is really that different to each other when ti comes to tolerance.

Good point. Indeed, people can change after they get into a position of authority. Normally they become worse than before, but sometimes they become better, more responsible for their actions. So, it works both ways, I guess. We should always remember that people can change for better too.

Good point again. It is very irresponsible to gamble with other people's money. But I'd say: No matter what your chances of winning are, even if they are 90%, you shouldn't put other people's money at risk. If you have an idea like that and you can't stifle it - you are weak.

There are some of the top gambling sites will play an important role in depending on your money. But these are very old events so all gamblers are now more aware of this. However gambling is a risk for you, so everything you bet here is at risk. A gambler wins a lot of money so will tip random people. But they are absolutely useless to me because gambling is completely based on my luck so no modern techniques will work here. Also a gambler can never guarantee that you will win a bet so you have to take all kinds of risks.

Im not seeing this to be the case on which they are really that avoiding on making use of their own money but rather the reason on why they are really that making use of other peoples money just because
they dont have the money that they could really that make use of their own or simply they had lost it all. On the moment that you would really be still have the funds then you wont really be thinking
up something like this which it would really be that literally means that you would really be still that busting it all before you would really be considering on making use of other funds on which we know that this is something that a very bad thing to do because this could really be causing up for you to get imprisoned if things goes out on legal approach.

If you dont really like for yourself to be ending up with this kind of situation then it would really be best that you should really be that sensible on the things that you are doing and not really just
that making yourself that be dealing up on using with other peoples money.

Statements like this remind us that you never leave any money in any exchange except the small amount you can do for trading,if you trade a lot then surely you should take into consideration the risks associated with it when joining a big one.In gambling we all know that people do all sort of shit just to feed their gambling addiction.Spending someone else's money when you have the power to do so is something that is done quite often in the gambling world yet different outcomes it has produced, the most extreme people being killed for not being able to substitute such amount of money and being killed by the person/entity who lost that money and of course in here I am talking for really huge amount of money, kinda like mafia movies.Really bad to see this happening but I guarantee that these cases will be going on as long as humanity will exist.

This is a habit that is mainly found in traders. Especially those traders that have been able to attain some level of consistency with some pips. They immediately feel lack of capital is there limitation to making a lump sum of money but, is that really it? No! Let’s not forget that having to handle someone’s money and your to put it in some form of investment or trade it comes with a pressure of its own. It doesn’t matter if you were given willing or it’s just an attempt to benefit from what is given to you temporarily for safe keeping.

To stay on topic, using one’s money to gamble is one of the don’ts in gambling. This is usually born out of greed and indiscipline. It isn’t yours and nothing is more dangerous than, not having, going ahead to loss what doesn’t belong to you and then you’ve got to pay it right back. It’s a really bad state to place yourself. If you ain’t ready to manage people’s money, don’t put yourself in a position where you would have to.

It is right that everything here in gambling is at risk and it is known to everyone. But the amount which will be used on gambling which can't afford if a loss should not be that on gambling whether that fund is the fund of himself/herself or it is taken any other person both should be treated as the same.
