Title: Terry Crews Out! Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva this June 15

Actor Terry Crews vs Anderson Silva is going down on June 15.
https://www.mmamania.com/2024/5/19/24159868/say-what-actor-terry-crews-books-boxing-match-against-anderson-silva-in-brazil-june-ufc-mma

As if Jake Paul and Mike Tyson (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5487951.0) isn't a shitshow already, here comes another one that will distract you mentally forever. Yep, the world is going bananas but according to MMAmania, the two will be fighting in Brazil this June 15, it's unclear however whether the rules will be boxing or MMA. So stay tune for more info on this. I think the actor Terry will be funnier in action. Though Terry has no experience in any combat sports according to this news, he is very fit.

Update:
Fight Cancelled I guess. The update is that Silva is fighting Sonnen Chael. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5497074.msg64105277#msg64105277) So this is their trilogy from MMA not to boxing in Sao Paulo Brasil!

Another great exhibition match. Although he doesn't have an experience, I think he can entertain the crowd. He must learn how to defend himself and maybe get help by ensuring the script will be followed. he got the body but without experience in boxing (which I assume it will be) then it will take time for him to learn. However, I'm quite curious, because if he doesn't have the experience in any combat sport, why would he allowed this to happen?

I wonder, how many millions will Drake lose to this fight? ::)

I'm not a big fan of boxing nor MMA yet, but I read you talk about these events and I feel a little bit jealous, even more now that it would be great a little mental distraction as promised in the OP, so I'll stay tuned this time. Let's see if it's worth it and I get hooked (although I think that I would prefer women's combat, for obvious reasons).

This is one of those many entertaining fights  which is why am not expectant of anything spectacular from actor Terry Crews in this fight owing to his age 49 and his inexperience in boxing or MMA, it is a fight that should be effortlessly won by king Anderson for being a former UFC middleweight fighter is an obvious testament to that.

Though am not a huge fan of boxing or MMA , I constitute in the few who only read news and trends about the industry just to stay updated about their growth and happenings, but on this one I'll manage to stream live to see what Crew can do. And I do commend the organizers of this fight for their choice of location Sao Paulo, Brazil, it's gonna be a mass attendance.

Okay so who are we going to have next. Are we going to see Dwayne Johnson and in my Mike Tyson fight next. Or are we going to see Kevin Hart versus Anthony Joshua. Or maybe Jason Statham and Floyd Mayweather. Since they want to make a shit show out of the sport, well I'd like to see all of these fights. Whether in the MMA or boxing. As for Terry Crews fight, man, doesn't even do stunts, how do I expect this to be a serious fight?

That made my day. That really made me smile and I really made a *heh* IRL. Being fit does not help at all. I would even say that being fat will be better, as fat will consume some striker power. Dont know what Crews expect from this fight. There will be no stunt in the ring that will take all the damage, and he would ask for director to shout CUT after a second punch to the face.

Ok, Crews has some sport experience. Football. He might even got hurt and felt pain during his 5 year career. To bad it was almost 30 years ago :D

Okay so who are we going to have next. Are we going to see Dwayne Johnson and in my Mike Tyson fight next. Or are we going to see Kevin Hart versus Anthony Joshua. Or maybe Jason Statham and Floyd Mayweather.

There is Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14539740/?ref_=chtbo_t_8) in cinemas today :D If you want to see something epic, better watch this :D

Thanks for the movie recommendations
I have seen so many Godzilla x Kong movies that I am not too excited about this one. I feel it is going to have the same storyline.

It will be another exhibition match and this is one of the things the fans wanted to see, unlike the others who were just annoying and simply not convincing when they won their fight and I'm sure you guys know which person I'm talking about. As for this one, we don't expect cheating and other scripted moves since this is pure entertainment and both persons will only give whatever they can without hurting their opponent because it's just for the fans and they want to give them as much entertainment as they can.

Before now, I read an article that explained how some boxing or wrestling matches are being scripted or bought by some whale investors or casinos so that if a large number of gamblers stake a huge amount on the best competitor, they will lose their bet because the match was scripted not for the best wrestler to win. I don't know how this entertaining match is going to turn out; if it has been scripted or bought over, then we can already guess what the end result would be.

It's not going to happen, here is the latest update, but it's good to know that Anderson Silva is going to fight again this year. We'll see who he fights and whether this is a boxing or an MMA match.

OP should lock this thread and update us on Silva's next fight.

This one is going to be a great fight, both of those guys are high level fighters. It's going to be the top level fight because this match isn't against young and energetic fighters but senior fighters who are quite aged but have kept themselves fit.

Anderson Silva is still somehow younger than Terry Crews but when we see the physique then he's no match for Terry. It's really going to be the best fight of this year and I believe that both fighters will do their best to win the match. Let's see who will be the winner of the match.

I do not know either of them but if I may be clear a bit, is it that the Terry is not a boxer but only acts on the scripted movies of entertainments?
If YES, I wish him Terry well to win and prove all that hyped fitness of him being showcased in the movies are real.

It would really be so much interesting show and hope not to miss out.

unless Terry Crews can actually learn how to box properly before his exhibition match starts with Andeson Silva, him having a very fit body would not mean much in his fight.

I really hope you are being sarcastic(and if you are, then my bad, sometimes it is hard to notice sarcasm), Terry Crews is an actor and a TV host(I've watched shows where he was in it) and as far as I know, he doesn't have much experience in martial arts let alone boxing.

EDIT:
so I guess it was just a friendly banter between two friends

Fight Cancelled I guess. The update is that Silva is fighting Sonnen Chael. So this is their trilogy from MMA not to boxing in Sao Paulo Brasil!
https://twitter.com/ChaelSonnen/status/1792355403642306667

They've been rivals back when they were in their prime. And there was a time when they fought to the end where Silva lost almost to the fifth round until Sonnen was in a triangle locked and tapped. Almost controversial bc the ref steps in too early while Sonnen seems to deny that he tapped. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpLaqnwFQEY

In fact, Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva can really be called a biggest (at least one of) fight of the year. Because For Sonnen, Silva is like kryptonite to Superman. Two times Sonnen was in one step to become UFC champion and two times Silva stopped him, when Sonnen was either winning or the fight was close. In addition, Sonnen really pissed lots of Brazilians with his trashtalk. So fighting Silva in Sao Paulo would be a real deal.

If it is now a Silva - Sonnen match then its time to lock this thread and create a new thread about Channel and Sonnen, it is confirmed it's an exhibition boxing match, but since this is boxing, Sonnen is at a disadvantage here since Silva has already proven himself in boxing the match is going to be held on July 15 based on this article.

It is, but the OP did hype the original fight LOL which such title.

But I guess it's better now, Sonnen vs Silva. Sonnen almost got Silva in their first fight and if Sonnen could have just hold in the last minutes but he did go for broke and Silva caught him.

They are way past their prime though, and it's already 2-0 in favor of Silva, second fight is not even close. So most likely as other exhibition fights, this is all for the money. However, at least fans get to see one more time of their legendary rivalries.

No details about all the cards but I think they are finding the big influencers apart from these two. Silva is still as big as Jose Aldo in Brasil which could be among the main card as well. This is a country where Combat is part of their daily lives.

Promotions these days are looking for those popular fighters whose careers are already dead but can bring a crowd. Must be money.

I guess Crews isn't ready for this kind of thing and even if he's the wholesome and well-built dude that I think he is, he isn't really a fighting dude in my opinion, as they say right? Not all muscles can be of help in fighting. Really good that they put in another fighter for this match though and it's probably a good thing too given that with this kind of match, it's a bit of a reset for bandwagon sports fans to see a pure fighter match instead of a celebrity match up. Haven't seen much of Sonnen before and given the record with Silva, I'm not yet sure it's a good time to put money on his name.

Correct me if wrong, but they are going have a boxing fight with same rules as Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul has (short rounds). Silva is more experienced in that, as he had some fights recently, while Sonnen after retiring from UFC became sort of a fight analytics or commentator. Moreover, Sonnen was more of a grapping/wrestling oriented, when Silva was always a striker. All this makes me think that Silva will knock Sonnen out making it 3-0 in their series.

If this is a boxing rule, then yes, Silva as all the advantage in this fight as even in the UFC he is a good striker and has experience fighting in exhibition matches and winning with boxing rule. Sonnen has his hands full here, and I think he is not in the best shape of his life after his UFC days as he become a commentator.

So it's like another mismatch here, and I wouldn't be surprise like you that it will be 3-0 for Silva here.

And it's obvious that this is just another money grab for both and there could be fans buying this fight as they might have to see their idol in the ring one last time.

When they fought for the first time, Silva was outboxed by Sonnen. That's why Silva was easily taken down in the first place because he was hit first with a jab and then Sonnen quickly went for the takedown.

Boxing I think will still be a fair fight for both. But true Silva's reach advantage will dictate the fight and he may be able to use it while Sonnen will just be able to keep pressuring.

Yes, but Silva has more experience in boxing now, He is 2-1-1 in the ring, and that L came from the wonder boy, Jake Paul. While we haven't seen Sonnen, all we have in him is in UFC and it doesn't look good that's why I say it's a mismatch and Silva going for 3-0. And even in the UFC Silva is known to be a striker, while Sonnen is more of a wrestler.

And it was reported that the fight is going to be contested at a catchweight of 98kg (216 pounds), with both fighters donning 14-ounce gloves. And it's good to hear that they are doing this specially gloves for safety reasons.

Soo many events that will actually happen tomorrow from MMA, and boxing to exhibition fights but in case you are following the 2, here's an update.
The rest of the fights besides Sonnen vs Silva are real boxing fights a few are their debut.

Old MMA rivals Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen square off in a boxing match. The five-round 216-pound contest headlines Spaten Fight Night in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The pair met twice inside the UFC Octagon. Silva won both fights in 2010 and 2012 via fifth-round submission and second-round TKO, respectively. Prior to the fights being stopped, Sonnen was in control dominating his opponent.

Among the Silva vs Sonnen 3 undercard bouts, Esquiva Falcao faces Hebert Conceicao in a 10-round bout match at 163-pound catchweight. Bia Mesquita and Jorgina Ramos clash in a three-round MMA bout at women’s bantamweight. Kalyl Silva and Paulo Roberto go head to head in a four-rounder bout bout at super welterweight

The event is held with the invited guests. Tickets are not expected to go on sale.

Silva vs Sonnen 3 fight card
Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen, 5 rounds, 216 lbs catchweight (boxing)
Esquiva Falcao vs. Hebert Conceicao, 10 rounds, 163 lbs catchweight (boxing)
Bia Mesquita vs. Jorgina Ramos, 3 rounds, bantamweight (MMA)
Kalyl Silva vs. Paulo Roberto, 4 rounds, super welterweight (boxing)

Actually Sonnen has been getting in better shape in the last month by doing a lot of cardio so maybe he knew something like this could happened and I'm not surprised he instantly accepted this challenge because it's a good promotion for both of them. Hopefully , this event will attract more retired legends to give one more fight and hopefully GSP will be the next one as that will make millions of UFC fans happy.  :)
