 I don notice say most people out of the quest to create new topic go just go gather any information they get for social media come drop for the forum especially the Newbies. Most of them no even get legit points to back their informations whether eh legit or make sense, them go just go see anynews carry come forum, I dey very happy as them share our Naija local board into different places come give us better moderator wey dey work very hard to move posts to off-topic or  for the accurate category where they belong. Most of these Newbies no they even act as if they come here to learn, them they do like say they done know everything finish for the forum and they go just they create anyhow topic wey no go even fetch them merits. For this forum learning na constant thing, eh no matter how long eh go take you to grow just calm down they learn from other senior members so you go improve instead of to they cap or go carry informations from anywhere wey you no go fit defend properly if person through questions or counter you all in the name of creating topics.

If we see anything online, then we must be eager in reading it, digesting and make sure we understand about it, then verify the means and check on other platforms and website for its authenticity in knowing whether its a fake news or not, because it has been noticed that many would have pass across false information on something before realizing its fake, this should also serves as a warning to everyone of us to be mindful of the platforms we do follow up for our updated news, some are not to be trusted to that extent while some could be reliable in the information they give out to the public because they are from verified sources.

Thank God you know say our moderator they do the moderator job well. Correct me if I no ask well, but this your thread dey really necessary? Because we get more than 4 pined threads for our local board and the reasons why moderator pin them na because say any new person way come go fit read them. Any newbie way no read those threads before him paran-bulate or create unnecessary posts na the moderator job to delete am or if you see am just report am codedly and if the moderator see say the post no suppose dey the board him go delete am entirely. Op na just this thing wey you talk like this na him been dey my mind to talk because e don too much for those newbie sometimes you see newbie wey just open account today instead am to ask for guidance from forum members on how in go take navigate the forum, you go see them with useless topic wey no go even give them any value the most anoing part na the wey Dem dey create topic about Hamster Kombat wey go lead Dem to scam at the end, thankGod say we have our moderator now any newbie wey create unnecessary topic him go delete am.

This is one reason why the role of a moderator in a board like ours can't be underemphasized. As long as we have mixtures of people that have different extent of knowledge about crypto and there knowledge on the board isn't all that strong, we're going to see more of this kind of threads popping up regularly on the board and if we didn't have a local board moderator, it would contribute to the board being filled with less quality post or post that aren't even verified at all.

One reason why we have some of these frequent topics that sometimes don't even have any positive impact on the board and isn't even authentic is due to the whole merit system and the fact that most newbies want to rank up by all means and they feel that it's by how many post you've made that gives you an higher chance of getting more merits.

I think that with our moderator actively working to ensure that things are set right on the board, it's evident that the quality of the threads we have had in the forum for a while now has improved and the less quality once have been shifted to off topic. We can't totally expect a perfect board that's void of some threads that's a bit inaccurate and of low quality and even if you visit other boards, you will notice that sometimes, there had been threads that's not even inline with some of those boards niche but with the combined effort of the board regulations and other active user that all put in the effort to ensuring  that things are done the right way, we will work towards a near perfect board.

Nna calming down is the goal for me here o. After I don try several times to rush because Say I been they think say I be writer so e no suppose they hard for me to right out things sharply. I come later realize that na just some kind of thoughts wey I fix put for my brain wey no go really carry me go anywhere as far as this forum they consine, wetin I don come realize be say this place abi forum, na one of the most simplest place to express yourself and be yourself.

Anytime you try to be someone else other than yourself, you over stretch things and begin to stress yourself to bring out superficial things. In doing that, is what led many into creating posts that are not originally there's or posts that ended up being flagged because, although it's their texts, but they wanted to add more spices to them therefore making use of external devices. The rule number I have learnt here is BE ORIGINAL!

I no the too blame these newbies for those mistakes and inauthentic topics wey them the he bring come make as post's for inside the local board. The people I blame na the persons wey bring them come forum, him no give them correct yet right orientation about the forms of topics and discussions them need to bring into the forum based on the objective of forum.

Them just the full the newbies with the idea of hustle for merit anyhow you fit do am with any topic, which is not good at all. Yea, merit dey sacrosanct but hit on the aspect of knowledge about bitcoin to the newbie more than anything else. Topics na wetin you  suppose create out of inspiration and thorough research make you for share legit information with everybody wey see am. No be must to create topic, people still dey grow well for their contributions to topic wey another person create. If you no get better unique information to share, no just bother  to create topic because e go only expose your empty brain, just go contribute for topics wey others don create and no forget to verify wetin you dey post so you go dey on point.

To get  merits no be the ultimate thing although its important,  but to share information wey go fit benefit people for the forum. If you focus on merit, you go dey disappointed, discouraged and you go develop sense of entitlement when you share useful information. Make sure you do your best and merit go come naturally as a reward.

I feel you Op but let's exempt the role of creating topics that'd attract merit resting on quality posts that'd be interesting to discuss about especially ones that can offer innovative ideas and also solutions. Although topics that're not related to currencies in the local board doesn't really seems worthless just for the awareness of the newbies so that they don't think moving their posts to the childs boards is assumed to be trashed in there.

Op you have spoken well, information is vital and we all know that, so sharing information either increases or devalues you worth depending on the status of the Information being shared. Any person sharing false information multiple times is only keeping his/her account in probable danger because, the account could get tag for shitposting, lier or even get banned. Unlike other times, we now have a good local board moderator which is Igebotz and he is active, I remember how he gave few member tag for spam posting before he became our moderator, currently most post are being moved to archive based on the post quality of information I commend his good works. And this is also to let False information poster to be conscious of what you post here if you care for the reputation of your account.

I believe the most reason why we should be sure about any information before posting it here is in order not mislead other people reading it through, because information they say is power so what ever information coming up here should be well verify to be true before posting or sharing it here in order not to create more tension in the mind of people that it may concern for there are people living with High blood pressure some of them might easily collapse those with HBP because they read the wrong information believing it is true but thank God there is a moderator who can take care of sure misleading information.

I reason wetin you de talk, some newbies go just de create unnecessary threads take de spam di board, and I de happy say our ogas dem, like our moderator wey be Igebotz, fight hard to sanitize the board. Aldo as e be now from my observation, di spamming and unnecessary low quality posts don reduce well well, especially as we don get child boards, you go see say di topics dem for here na crypto related topics, as e suppose be.

For di matter of copy and paste topics wey most of our newbies go just see for social media, and drop for us here, wey no de meaningful, na for experienced members to enter di topic and caution dem, unto say dem lack experience for forum. If you notice a newbie account wey continue to spam di board with shitposts, na to report di account.

Thank you for this vital piece of information, I just wished all newbies for this our local board go fit come across this post, so as to know that creating multiple "threads" alone is not the only way to grow for this forum, as if also you could engage in meaningful discussion, you are at a greater chance of getting easily noticed, and rewarded accordedly in the forum way, which is "merit", to help accelerate your growth and trust here on the forum. And secondly, one thing I have come to noticed about our present day newbies is that though some may have good contents to share on this forum, but the ability to share it in a generally forum acceptable forum is what they fail to understand, because though the forum frowns as plagiarized content, it also accept posting articles with reference link, inasmuch as you will add value to the copied content and not copying & pasting it whole.

The internet is so messed up right now especially as people are zealous of creating content for monetization in facebook, personal blogs, X and others. We saw the various scandals and defamation going on in the media lately all in the name of content, the most recent being that of the Super Eagle star,  Kayode Olarenwaju whose wife was falsely accused of infidelity following a purported DNA test that shows that her three kids are not for her husband. Mr Macaroni, AY and many others have also received their fair share of the media lies and propagandas. This makes it very important we be careful of the information will share on the internet.

It is even worse in cryptocurrency where many things are not as they appear to be. Scammers are doing their best to get to their targets and the best way they do that is by pretense, falsehood and hypes. We should be extremely careful of the information we accept and act upon in this digital space and always remember "if it is too good to be true, ir probably isn't"

Actually all this talk wey Wuna day talk na batter talk and we even thank god say we get moderator self now for this local board if not local board just day scatter you go day see anyhow post some self for post like three or even more post a day, can you imagine even if you day hunt for merit you come create nonsense thread in the name to get merit you too know say you no go get am but I don’t know watin they do all dis newbie wey they go just come day do things anyhow for this local board.

Moreover, in the forum some of the most active members are from this local board but you go just come see how newbie they try spoil everything with anyhow post. Although you don talk am self Watin them they do e no make sense at all but I know moderator of the board go they take care of all sure issues, because I see no reason why day go create community for us so that we go get understand what bitcoin is all about and the related knowledge but day go get some spoil beans wey go come day post rubbish.

Most newbies started with a wrong mindset, they are just after the merit not what they can offer to this forum at large, to me forum is mainly for financial system and ways to help our monetary systems to have a purchasing power value, as the name implies bitcointalk forum, newbies should understand that creating threads about Bitcoin transactions and modification with a detailed explanation will  attract a reader to digest the writing may be such person might find the thread helpful and decide to merit it, am not against any newbie because i was once a newbie and believe that we learn every day but the ability to discontinue from repeated mistakes will help us to learn more and adapt in the system.

The problem of most newbies here is lack of proper mentorship, some people didn't just come here chance, it was with the help of some senior men here that they are in this forum although we never can tell if they have been given orientation on what to do may be they decide to follow their, engaging post and good threads with facts is what earns people merit, the earlier newbies know this, the better for them.

I have come to realise that most newbies that falls victim of such are those that found their way here all alone and those that do not really take their time to read the forum policies before they engage in conversations here.

 It is natural that every one would want their presence to count so therefore, they can go to any length to make sure they get information just to have something to present. As long as they have links for reference purpose to back up their post, they feel they are on the right track and yes they are because they have every proof that they got the information from a source but how genuine is the source of information they presented here is.

Lastly, I would advise that any newbie making post of news or current happenings in the society here should do verify the information they are bringing here by conducting a multiple websites research as to know or see how authentic the information they are bringing here is. Doing this would justify the information they are sharing and how genuine it is for the consumption of the audience here.

That was what the board use to face in the past but thank God Theymos appointed a moderator and now everything seems to be in place. Few months back i could remember how the board used to be littered with shit posts and irrelevant discussions which made it difficult to locate good quality posts and most of those posts were all coming from newbies who didn’t care about learning and understanding how things are done. The moderator have done an excellent job and all irrelevant posts are being moved to where they belong.

This community have produced resourceful members in the forum and the contribution of the the Nigerian members was reason enough for the administrators to provide for us our own local. The newbies act was out of ignorance and negligence and if they continue that way they’ll find it difficult to grow.

This our local board don really experience better upgrade and e go make sense if all of us cooperates make the local board a better place by verifying all information before we post. No be everything wey go see for social media Na we go carry come here, e go just make this place look like regular social media wey dem dey post anything wey enter their mind. And the board go dey littered with shitposts. Although we don get our own moderator but that one no mean say make we dey tempt am by making shitposts for this main board so that e go arrange am. Make we still do our best because we are all matured.

It is a good advice you have given and this would help keep our local board clean from false information, you know many people might find interested in reading through our topics as a means to know what is going on in the country, and we could end up misleading them If we don't take time in crosschecking our information before posting.

Normal, learning na the important thing on this forum, and that is problem some of our newbie dey faces be that. In my opinion some of them no get patient, they just want to rush rank their account body they pepe them, like say merit they wait for them ni. The most annoying part be say them no dey check the board first if the same topic they be want post dey before, some newbie will just go and create new topic about information which has been created already. Most of those accounts are already owed by experience bitcoin users so they know small and the only challenges they normally face in the forum is to understand di forum and navigate around. And that one wey dem dey bring any news wey dem see on the social media dey bring am here na the norm for them. And I e thing wey dem no know be say those kind of thread e no dey attract Merits. But then.no make any contribution about di news.
And another thing dem no know be say as a newbie dem have di privilege to create threads the way them way and as from Sr members, you know go just create anyhow threads but I'm advance level. As a newbie exploit the forum and get information to create your threads. Merit go come from there.

In my own opinion, it's very essential to know and be sure of what we are about to publish for everyone to read and also point out their own perspective. Because whatever we post here, it's not about earning a merit but also impacting knowledge to other people for them to also learn.

Although this is for everyone one because we do make this mistakes, which at times, it hard to quote or reply because its difficult to understand or comprehend what the post it's all about, so let's be sure of what we post here for the benefits of everyone including ourselves.

Unlike other kinds of forum, Bitcointalk is unique in it own way. And in some forum and platform you are allowed to do what you want but here, you have to be disciplined to survive in This forum. This is a place where most of us gained quality knowledge that's important and had helped us in this life, so why try to implicate yourself by posting unverified information when that could lead to your ban from this forum. Before making any decision you should think first of the vast amount of knowledge you'll me missing out, though one can actually create alt to continue spamming the forum with false news but they'll keep tagging and banning such account, so let stay disciplined.

I don't know if I'm getting your statement wrong but if you say those accounts are already owned by experienced users but then the only challenge they're facing is understanding how to navigate the forum, then I don't agree with that because an experienced member of the forum should be able to understand the forum more better and navigating around the forum shouldn't be an issue for them since they could easily go to the beginners and help board to ask questions there or even use the search icon to search threads involving what they need to know or even throw the question here in our very own local board. I guess what you're trying to say is inexperienced users and not experienced ones cause a Full ranking member or Senior or even some Member rankings that's taken their time to study the forum and understand it while they're at the Newbie and Jr. Member level shouldn't have much difficulties navigating the forum.
