Title: What is the role of home/away matches?
Post by: Julien_Olynpic on June 07, 2024, 02:56:02 AM
If you are involved in sports betting on team games such as football, then before you place a bet, you probably conduct a comprehensive analysis and evaluate the various factors that may contribute to the victory or defeat of your chosen team. One of the main factors in this analysis is home or away matches. Depending on where the team plays - at home or away, the probability of winning or losing can change by a certain amount. What do you think is the role of home/away matches? If this probability were expressed in numbers, what would it look like? Is playing at home or away a major factor for analysis or a secondary one?
I once came across the opinion of one analyst who considered this to be the main factor in predicting the outcome of a match. He considered everything else to be secondary. What do you think?

The home/away is generally called home advantage and it is a very significant factor in soccer. It is like when someone comes to fight you in your house, there is this level of confidence and moral justification you will have to beat up the person in order to save your reputation. Teams playing at home enjoys this confidence, huge support from their fans and in most leagues, the officiation tends to be in favour of the home team. There are several leagues in which the home team mostly win the match, and this could also be linked to how advanced or serious the league is.

However, there are some teams that do not really care about the home advantage. For example, teams like Manchester City,  Real Madrid, Bayern Munic, PSG and others do not really care if their opponents are at home, the win anywhere.

From how I see it, these home and away matches are one of the ways to give each team the same opportunity of having an advantage which Odohu mentioned as playing at home can play a big role in most sports.

If I have to put a number, it'd be around 5% or more depending on how formidable the team can be in home games. Still, these advantages aren't always enough to overcome most of the team's problems in the other department, and it's why the best team will always rise to the top.

On the other hand, there are still a few sports where home advantage barely exists like baseball because you have different starting pitchers every day.

This being the main factor in deciding a match insane.  I don't think anyone with a properly functioning brain would really thing this way.  I mean there's no question that it's a large deciding factor when it comes to picking the outcome of a game, and sometimes can be the "deciding factor" but that doesn't make it the largest factor.

I have a feeling that if your buddy thinks this, he's not winning that many games huh? lol

Home advantage is not the same for all teams. There are some teams that are known to play much better at home and a victory there for the rivals is considered a double victory, but in other cases playing at home or away doesn't make a big difference.

So you asked if that difference can be expressed in numbers, and I'm sure that it can, but not in a general formula for all teams since the importance of playing at home should be calculated in a case-by-case basis.

The role of it is basically what it means, home is for those teams that are playing at their homecourt, for example, Lakers in Los Angeles and then the away teams are those that are playing away from their homecourt. Now regarding the role of them in matches, it's basically just for distinguishing which teams are playing right now but there's a psychological thing behind this which is that there's something called a homecourt advantage, players are most likely to win their homecourt games because it sort of boosts their morale to the point that they dominate the away team, that's why sometimes it can be a good idea to bet on teams that got this homecourt advantage but this isn't enough really, almost always, teams that are really good will easily dominate other teams no matter where in the place they are, be it home or away, if someone's really good, they will win no matter.

You have explain it perfectly but I will add little contribution to your explanation. One thing that contribute to this home advantage that mostly lead to home victory is the play ground. It's a general belief that practice makes perfect, the home team has advantage over the visiting team because they are very familiar with the play ground since it's where they train on a daily basis. If we are to relate this to real life outside sports, it is just like your house where you know every angle and corner of the house and a thief come to attack, you'll definitely know where to hide and launch a counter attack. However, this is not always the case, it depends on the natural strength of the team, a very weak team despite playing on their home ground will possibly lose to a stronger team.

I also consider home matches because players playing at home are likely to win than their opponent to win. But this is when the home team is very good and not just a team that the away team can win. Example is Manchester City to be playing at home. But there are sometimes that I believe that if the team is strong and playing with home team, that the away team which is far more stronger can win. This is just one of what to consider during analysis but not all. You still have to check other things like h2h, the players that wants to play in the match and their previous performance in the last five matches or so.

Well home games can be to your advantage, but there are a lot of other factors that might come into play. Let's take rugby players as an example.... when they play away from their home, they tend to concentrate more on the game, because they do not have the distraction of their family being close to them. (Some coaches do not allow the team to sleep at home before matches, because it negatively influence their aggression levels and concentration)

You also need to take in consideration that home games might not draw in the supporters, because the team might have had a losing streak during their away games and they might stay away to punish them or the weather might be bad and the supporters might not come to the game.

The players feed off the energy of the home supporters and if they are not there or if there are not a lot of them, then they have very little advantage over the other team.  ::)

A double-edged sword, but with balanced strength, the team playing at home will receive great spiritual encouragement from the fans.

But in one case that I faced directly when watching the away team win, it was really a sad ending, but this is just a sports game so we should enjoy every emotion we have from happy/sad/disappointed/.... With the spirit of love, I think no matter where we compete, we should choose to feel the emotions that are happening.

As the proverb says, houses and walls help. And this is very often true for home games. The fields on which the team is used to training and the atmosphere of the stadium also play a big role. I won’t talk about world football because I know that the quality of stadiums there is always at the highest level, but from what I observe in my country, I know that playing at home is perceived as an advantage for the team, and if it loses at home, then this is additional stress.

the general mentality is that if you're unable to win an opponent in your home side under the watch of your fans that will serve as the 12th man on the pitch with you giving you the complete home advantage, it's going to be more deficult for you to win your rival when you're away. It works too well for most people and we could count matches upon matches when smaller teams fought there way into victory against her opponents due to the roar and support they received from those fanbase. In some cases, it could be a major distraction that could presurise some teams into trying to impress her fans and might not be as focused as expected but in general, it's best to analyse the teams involved before trying that out cause if your playing against a team like man city or real Madrid, home or away advantage doesn't count in most cases because they will always want to win at all cost and don't give a damn about your home advantage.

Obviously, home away is a major factor to analysis. I think this is the most important consideration in gambling. All the gamblers I have seen around me consider this first. Playing at a home ground has many advantages. Players have a better idea about their own field, so they are more confident than the opponent players and have a chance to do well. Home ground players have more chances to score goals and very well chance to win. Also, players have a better understanding of the field environment. Above all, you have to take it seriously when it comes to gambling.

Playing at home makes a big difference. If you want to know this, in a 38 matches or more or less played in a leagues, check the result of home and away win and loss. You will see that clubs win more at home. Even on bookies, the odd for home match is lower than when the club is at away and playing with the same club. Also in Champions League, you can notice home advantage. But there are exceptions. In a season, you can see a club out of many winning more at away matches than home.

A bettor will usually analyze the game before determining their bet, usually the consideration is whether the team they are betting on is playing at home or away. Because if the team plays at home, it will increase their self-confidence and that can increase their chances of winning. And if the team plays outside, then it could reduce their chances of winning because playing outside puts pressure on the players. However, bettors don't need to completely rely on that, because there are also teams that, even though they play at home, still lose, and there are those that play outside their home but still win. So bettors also need to consider other factors, such as momentum, recent performance, etc.

I think the role of home/way can be very impactful for teams in the middle or bottom of the standings in a league, these teams usually have much better results when playing their games at home compared with what they achieve playing away matches. The big teams do not really get impacted by such fact as they have really good quality players that make a difference even when playing away so they usually get good results playing everywhere.

The level of odds of course changes when teams playing away being higher when teams playing away games, including both strong teams and weak ones.

Well, a good bettor would actually think of this scenario wherein before betting he/she will look if the team he/she want to bet on will be playing away or home, because for me, it's a big factor in a team if they play in a home because they are familiar with the court; it's simply their home court, and they have the spirit and morals to play well in order to win. Unlike away, there will be a lot of pressure on them because the crowd is against them, and they will need to deal with that along with playing with the opponent. Well, there are many more factors that need to be considered before a bettor could actually bet, because if you are just going to bet without analysis, then you are just giving away your money, so it is better to make analysis and measures so that you will have a higher chance of winning a bet. That is the wise decision a bettor could make.

It's one of the things that we look at when we analyst a game, but it's not a single factor in predicting the outcome as there could be upsets or you don't know during the game, a player got injured and so the outcome of the game is not going to favored the home team.

Another is that even if you are playing against a home team, there are still a slim chance that maybe in the last minute or so, the opposing team score a goal and win that game. So for sports bettors, I'm sure this is not the only reasons that they are going to bet, and even at 1.01 odds, there are still chances that you will lost betting on the home team.

With newest policies from UEFA in Champions League and other lower leagues Europa and Conference Leagues, there is no advantage from home away goals. We can see this policy change helps knock out matches in Champions League to become more goal productive and more entertaining.

In this season, if home away goals still have advantage, Manchester City will be the winner, not Real Madrid in their knock out pair. I see home away goal advantage is a barrier for clubs' readiness to play more attacking especially when they are guests. They know that the most important is defend, and they can wait for mistakes of the host teams to find only one goal which can bring big advantage for them later.

In general, teams that play at home will gain a home advantage. The support from the crowd and the excitement it creates can be a motivation for the home team. Apart from that, the home team will also tend to have a stamina advantage because the opponents (the away teams) have to travel which will affect their stamina, especially those from far away. The other advantage of the home team is they play on the field that they step on every day, especially if the match takes place in quite bad weather, the home team will gain a sizable advantage because they are used to playing in such conditions.

Perhaps this is one of the main factors for the victory of a team that plays at home and in its own stadium where it trains. This sets up a more familiar environment in which fans support their favorite team. But on the other hand, I would like to remind you that the size of the field, the goal and the ball are no different, so in the end I would not call this the most important thing, because the most important thing is the professional skills of each player and the morale, teamwork and tactics of all teams . As an example, I can even remember a recent match of my favorite team, which is not strong. So, when the strongest team in the league arrives, my team can lose 5-0 at home  :-\

  • Home/away matches in my estimation serves to balance things up between both teams giving them a competitive advantage in terms of a familiar ground, home based fans, and an opportunity for their fans who were unable to provide support in their away game to do it at home.
  • The probability for me is 50/50. If the home team is not well prepared they will be beaten by their visitors and vice versa. It is the level of preparation that determines who wins or losses and not the home/away
  • Playing at home or away is the secondary factor and not the major factor. The primary factors are things like, teams stats, past performances, injuries, etc
  • Everyone can have their opinion and we do not need to agree. If he thinks it is the primary factor that predicts the outcome of a match that's his opinion. Mine is different from his.

The team that acts as the host or home team will be included in the analysis that they benefit because of greater support. In contrast, the away team has less support but in betting this analysis does not always apply. It is possible that the away team is stronger in many ways so that the away team's chances of getting the targeted results are greater, as in big leagues such as the English Premier League and Champions League.

If we don't follow other leagues, by looking at head to head and who acts as the home team, then the chance of choosing the home team to win is greater than choosing the away team.
Honestly, that doesn't apply 100% to me in analyzing a match to bet on.

The game should be taken as a game. Game You play in home matches play well, play in away matches don't play well. It's not a player trait. When the player enters the field, the whole world will unfold in front of him. He must consider it in his wanderings. Here he has to rule the world with foot magic or hand magic. So every game has to start with one player first. Every game he has to show equal performance. In the game where his negligence is revealed, he will go. The player has to think of every match as his home match.

It doesn't seem right to me that for away matches he loses the match and for home matches, he wins. I don't think so. I think it cannot predict the outcome of the match. How many people think that everything will always be the case?

It depends on what type of sports and then it will also depend on the record of the team during their home games and road games.

In basketball, NBA preferably because they have their home courts, the home team always has an advantage because of the crowd help. But there are teams who suck at playing even on their home court. Detroit Pistons for example. 7 wins and 33 losses in their home games. Boston Celtics on the other hand is 37 wins and 4 losses at their home which is damn good.
So, all those who bet for Boston during their home games probably have a good profit now.

I don't know about Football if that is also the case.
When it comes to boxing, home-court advantage is a mess. There was this exhibition game in South Korea where most Koreans won even though it was obvious that their opponents won that fight.

In principle, home matches have pretty good probabilities, but in football everything involves all aspects. depending on the team playing at home, as well as the team that is the opponent. each team, does not have to be the same and this really depends on their form and performance when playing away. Plus, the squad itself counts. Football is quite unique, not all teams that play at home have a promising chance of winning. So, however, it comes back to the strength of the team they have. This is different from several top teams, which play their matches at home. In fact, it's not much different from a mediocre team, after all, they both get full support from their supporters who watch it live. Plus, playing at home gives you great latitude and confidence. However, home matches are not necessarily an indicator that the team that plays its match at home has a high probability of winning.

As I said, it all comes back to who the opposing team is. if there is a gap between the quality of players, performance and gaps based on ranking. So, playing at home does not guarantee anything to control the game, win the match or be better than the challenging team. this is football, with all its uniqueness. We have to review the team's strength from all aspects, including away games. However, the point comes back to the team itself. That's why, when choosing football bets, you need experience, knowledge, broad insight, and technical knowledge of football itself. There are many variables that we can consider in research, analysis and then speculate to make predictions. and each team that will compete has a different probability even though they are playing at home. The point of playing at home is no more than playing the match at home, so they will try to perform as hard as possible to maximize their home match in front of their supporters and play with extra hard work.

Title: Re: What is the role of home/away matches?
Post by: Kelward on June 07, 2024, 11:12:40 AM
I think that a team that is playing at home has more familiarity with the pitch and they will want to give their very best, do everything possible to win in front of their home fans because they would be the majority spectators in the stadium. This factor would be an edge over the visiting team, even if it's a minor factor, it has to be put into consideration when placing a bet, although in the end what counts is the better and more tactical team that wins the match. So I'll say home advantage is a secondary factor when considering whether it's a home or away team that'll win a match.

Home court advantage is indeed impactful if the game is close match or the home team stats is not that very compared to away team. Crowd support is proven can boost morale of players that’s why this factor is always being considered on every bet.

The only time this factor is useless is when the home team is at the bottom of rank while the enemy team is on the top rank which makes the home team heavily underdog. Besides match like this usually have less supporter since they knew that the team they are supporting will just resulted to lose.

But in normal matches, home court advantage provides huge factor on winning probability of the home team. It’s very hard to play with the crowd consistently booing you.  :D

It's just statistic, not necessary mean home is always better than away.

Take a look with Fenerbahce, they actually have better statistic in away match than in home since they never lose any single match in away. The bookie isn't stupid though, they will lower Fenerbahce odds in away match.

It's really differ from each team to other team, depends on the statistic, the bookie will adjust it.

In my personal opinion, whenever a sports match is played between a home team and a travelling away team, it will eventually affect my decision on placing my bet between these two teams as I believe the team who plays the match at their home stadium will always have the advantage in the surrounding atmosphere at the stadium with their home fans cheering loudly for their team. Underdog teams which are playing against traditional strong teams will also rely heavily on home matches to gain more points throughout a season in order to fight for their survival in the league.

But in football matches, the factor of playing home or away is very dominant and has a big influence on the final result, indeed this does not guarantee that the results will match predictions, but the percentage of advantage can be much greater.
I personally will really consider the game at home or away for the team that I analyze to produce betting predictions, if both teams have good performance then obviously whoever is the host will have the advantage.
Not only gamblers, even bookies or houses will always consider the home or away factor as reference in giving odds to gamblers who will bet.
I always look at the results of several previous matches and when I want to bet money on the team that is competing, this can make it easier to analyze to make good predictions.
For example, Leverkusen has had several previous matches at home, overall they can win or draw, so obviously in the next match, if it is at home, the chance of winning is also quite large.
But on the other hand, you still have to look at which team are competing, because even if lower team has home match against strong top team chances of winning also will be relatively difficult.

Inasmuch as Home or Away are major factors to be considered in current day football sport betting, for me, I see this as a secondary factor, and not primary, because of a team is good, they will always perform better either playing at Home or Away, just as in the case of Manchester City vs Fulham, of which we can all attest yhe fact even if Fulham is said to be still playing at Home, Manchester City will still always win them. Hence, this factor should be considered secondary, whereas what should be considered primary care the individual strength of each players, the ability of the goalkeeper to safe balls, and the how good the Coach is to come up with strategic plans to enable its players win a match at die minutes. Those are what should be considered primary.

I think home matches allow a team to play more effectively then away matches because in home matches they have trained for some good time and have played so many matches there and they're also aware of the home environment, and that gives them edge over other teams.

I would still consider that a secondary factor of analysis because a weak team in home matches could easily lose by a tough team as they can quite easily adjust with the environment of new place because of their skillset. I would consider a teams top players as a major factor that decides winning/losing of a match.

If a team's top players are in good health without any health issues or other weaknesses then that gives them way more edge then home environment and that's one the factors which makes results of someone's research positive. I always prefer to go with tough teams as most of the times they can easily win against weak teams.

Using home advantage as the major factor when betting should be based on the club that is at home and who is their visitors. Some clubs have worst history playing with a particular club at home. While some clubs will not easily accept defeat at home, which means that they win 90% of their matches at home.

However, some clubs don't care where they are playing either home or away, they always win most of their matches, and you should be careful to bet against such club. It is good that when placing a bet, you check this out too before other factors. It will help a lot. Majority of club have a higher advantage of winning matches at home, the fans is an additional advantage for the home side.

It's true that the home/away of matches is a determinant of outcome of some matches but it's absolutely not the only thing that determines how the result could be and it's not the primary determinant from my own perspective but one of the majors. home usually plans a big role because absolutely nobody what's to be won in his or her own house just as the first person said earlier, there's no two ways about it.

Actually in sports betting when you are analyzing the possible outcome of a game the ability of a team to win at home or away depends on their previous matches like if a particular team mostly win matches when they are away than home that means if they are playing at their home ground the possibility of losing or drawing the match will be analyzed except if they have been able to win subsequent games at their home ground that is when you can confidently predict them to win and it most cases this system of predictions work a lot in sports betting.
But every team is expected to be more stronger while playing at their home ground so if a team fails to win more matches at their home ground that means such team can't be reliable because the advantage teams have in their home is that they have majority of the fans to cheer them up and they are familiar with the pitch of play because that's exactly where the normally do their practices and training so playing at home gives majority of teams that confidence to play better unlike when they are playing at away.

It depends on the sport and its fans, and we are experiencing it right now in the NBA final with the Boston fans, surely in many basketball teams this does not influence but with Boston it is crucial, of course it does. And along those lines, other sports, in soccer it happens, fans disturbing the hotel where the opposing team is staying, the angry crowds on the stages, etc.

That is to say, there are factors to take into account when making a closed bet, you know, one of those in which you have @1.98 against @2, perhaps the factor Home, affect your betting decision, but, it is relative in any case.

This is indeed an advantage but it is not the main advantage why is that? because basically the main advantage is the structure of the performance of the players, I always believe that, the performance of the players is far above all to assess a team, and the cage according to me is the second factor after that because the advantage of the cage is that they are comfortable with the setting and atmosphere and surely the homeowner has more supporters so that the roar of supporters will always echo to pressure the visiting opponent.

I always conclude things like that assessing a customer in a soccer bet, but the core point that cannot be assessed in a comprehensive analysis calculation is luck because it is beyond human thinking and very difficult to predict because luck is a miracle in the field for a team.

However one has their own preferences in assessing a team and home zone in a match, home is still number two in my opinion.

You are right, but the most important thing that used to matter alot in home or away matches is their fans.If a particular team is playing at home, there is always a high possibility of fans being much available.Fans always turn up for home matches than away matches. And when the fans are chanting and singing the names of their players on the field, and making them feel loved,it gives them that energy  to make sure they make their fans happy by getting a win in that match, they know that when they lose at home, their fans will definitely be angry with them,so they do extra work on the field,to make their fans happy by winning.

Home advantage in 99% of the games played in the world is not literally a thing, it's just a confidence that players get while they are playing in a stadium that chants you're name or team instead of boo but technically it doesn't interfere with the results as long as players don't get the emotions into their head.

Let's just say home games might give you 5 to 10% but there are lot other factors that plays more vital role in the analysis and no matter what even if you get everything done the results can be anything that's the interesting thing about sports and gambling.

For most major sports it plays an important factor.  It's pure fact teams have better winning percentages at home than on the road almost always.  The big contributors is one you are comfortable playing at home because you know the field/court/pitch the best.  You are most likely sleeping home and don't have travel lag so you are probably more rested than the away team.  Amd then last but most important.  The fans.  You have thousands of people cheering you on which gives momentum.  I always look at home/away first when betting.

The main factor when analyzing matches is the strength and class of the teams. If these are opponents of different levels, then most likely it is not so important where they play at home or away.
That is, playing at home or away is very important, but I think it’s not the main thing. If the teams are approximately the same level, then factors such as playing away can be of great importance, support from the stands, home stadium, more time to rest, etc.
To answer your question, I will say that playing away is very important, but not the main thing

It's a major factor because some teams have got a certain pattern at home which if you consider it will be an opportunity for you to bet on them and win, a typical example was with lutton town, last season, they were always making sure that in their home games, they had a goal, they had only a few home games where they didn't get a goal but in majority of their home games last season, they had a goal so if you had bet on home team to get a goal, most of the times you would have ended up winning such game.

Considering that as a key factor will actually go a long way helping your betting predictions go wright, some team are better off at home than they are away just like Manchester city, there are games they will be playing at home and you can be certain they are going to win such game just because they are playing from home.

Home game for some teams don't make any difference maybe because of the players in the are not strong and organised but still it is good for every team to experience home game, this is just for them to get the opportunity to see if they can be able to take  advantage of their opponent.

In most times average teams benefit from home game, the presence of their supporters gives the more confidence for them to be able to win the game even if the opponent teams may seems to be superior.  Home and away games means fairness, equality,  opportunity,  it makes every team to feel special .

Well, yes, in some match I have actually used the home/away to predict the outcome of different match and it gave me a successful prediction on several occasion but not all, so I just believe that using home/away as a category to analyze the outside of football score can be classified as a primary tool. If am asked to rate how many times it has worked for me, I will say more than 80%. Just my opinion tho, every body have their experience.

I don't know why you are specific on the teams that do not regard the home advantage because every team do like to win it's just that they are not strong enough or their opponent is far better because even the so called big teams sometimes do play and win games themselves under the home ground advantage.

Be it in cricket or football, home advantage is definitely obtained, especially in my country, home advantage is very strong in cricket, especially Bangladesh can defeat big cricket teams in Mirpur National Stadium, especially England, Australia, India, South Africa, New Zealand. While Bangladesh performs poorly everywhere except home ground, this is true not only for Bangladesh but also for other countries. The advantage of home advantage is that Pactis always play matches at home ground and the familiarity of this ground during the match gives a lot of benefit.

something I want to let you to know is that, in gambling it does not matter how you win or how you loss in your gambling, the thing is that you have to follow your own method of strategies, neither you bet on home or away that doesn't necessarily means that you will lose in gambling or you will win gambling, theirs something you have to understand very that gambling is just an opportunity and if you are lucky enough you can win your gambling successfully without any biased mindset, so therefore I know that winning gambling is just something of luck.

Home ground is definitely considered an important issue in gambling especially if you are imagining a match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid and if there is Real Madrid's home ground then you will definitely get a higher bet multiplier against Real Madrid. However, in some cases, team performance is often considered an important issue in betting multipliers. If there is a match between Nottingham Forest and Bayern Munich then you will get more betting odds against Bayern Munich.

Yes you will get higher bet multiplier in your example but the high odd is just what is most likely not to be the result because if Real Madrid is at home, there is higher chances that it would win Atletico Madrid. Home matches have an advantage but Real Madrid is kind of better also. Although anything can still happen in betting.

When you're at home, you're more comfortable because that's the place you train every time and you are used to that environment.  You'll feel more comfortable also with more of your fans supporting you and gingering the whole team to beat their opponent, you'll be more energized not to disappoint the fans who are supporting them in their mass.

When we were playing  at local club level back then, there was this notion that you can win a match with great fans cos their chants and support can weaken the opponents, placing you at a better advantage. Opponents that secure wins from away are more tactical than the home team or they took advantage of the mistakes of the home team, but playing from home is always better than playing from away.

Well well, odohu have given you the complete answer that you need, there is nothing special about home or away matches aside from the fact that the team playing in their home simply have the home advantage which (to me) includes....
1. Having more fans to support them, this fans are citizens of their country who won't have to spend money on air tickets to travel, but can simply buy an entry ticket to the stadium to support their own.
2. Playing in a stadium where they train often makes the players understand the environment much better and play more comfortably and more confident in themselves and their abilities.
3. They seem to play better because they won't have to spend hours on traveling, which could result to some of the players feeling tired 😴 after the journey, which could as well affect their game play, playing at home means that the players have enough time to rest and practice before the game day.

This are just a few of the list.

Every game is different. There are great rivals in every sport and whenever great rivals meet the tension is high, then it can be very important where the match is played. When fans are loud and crazy, it is literally like an extra player, and there is also a lot of pressure among the players to do their best in front of their fans and against their big rivals.

It can be important in some games, but it's far from being the primary factor when someone doing analyses. It would be nice if we could see the betting stats of that man with this betting strategy, from my angle, I doubt that he is successful. I guess he has some good hits, but somehow I doubt that this strategy brought him any money.

Home or away matches greatly influence the outcome of the match and before we decide to place a bet on a club we must first check which club will play at home and which club will play away and usually the club that plays at home is more favored by bettors to win. match but also sometimes it depends on which club they are playing against. If the opponent is a tough club and is playing away then the bettors prefer the club that is tougher and don't care about the factor of playing at home. Someone chooses the club that is playing at home depending on the club's last performance, if not so much consistently sometimes playing at home also doesn't matter.

Most gamblers analyze first before placing a bet and usually clubs that play at home are more confident in playing the match, sometimes top clubs can also be beaten when playing away and this home factor is very important, but if it's a bottom club I think it's the home factor or away, it's the same because the performance is bad and it is quite risky to bet on lower level clubs even though they play as the home club.

Whether they are playing at home or away, I think there will always be fans in each of them, especially if they are both popular teams/players. Some of their fans can find it difficult to follow them playing for a far, but they must know that they are still there supporting them warmly.

So, they need to give their very best in each of their plays. With all that is discussed here, it's important to not base only on home and away factor when trying to place a bet but we must check the others too, as that can improve our chances of winning. For those who are only playing/gambling for fun, then it's totally fine if they can take things less serious.

I don't know whether the role is secondary or not, but I would say that it plays a great role because most teams tend to play better when they are playing at their home stadium and this can greatly affect the results. So when a person is conducting research for a game that they want to make a bet, they need to make sure which side is playing at home because that side will have an extra edge to their game because of this factor.

A lot of people might not think this way because sometimes, even if a team is playing at their home stadium, they might lose the game despite this but that doesn't mean it happens all the time. In general, when they are playing at home, they perform better, maybe because they practice in the same stadium as well.

this is a factor that you need to take in account. but can have just a little effect on the final outcome.
I think its more important evaluate this factor according "pitch condition" or wheater condition.
if you have players that normally play in a certain condition, probably they are able to perform better in the same condition versus player that have not much experience.
but most of the times you need "extreme condition" otherwise it's pretty useless any strategy on this...

In my opinion, the factor of playing home or away has an influence but is not the main factor in determining the victory or defeat of a team that will compete. Sometimes there are also teams that play at home and experience a crushing defeat against the visiting team. Therefore, playing at home or away is only one small factor in carrying out analysis to see whether a team will win or lose.

Large influence, I believe, especially in football matches.
Now, I don't really understand that because we don't really have a popular football team here in our country and I know other countries are very big fans of their own football teams. Germany, and other European countries, etc... But not here on our own.

Now, when it comes to basketball, it's different for us. We have only 3 domes, or courts that are being popularly used, and there really is no homecourt advantage. But, I do watch a lot of NBA games and I can see the difference. I have been a fan of the NBA since I was a kid and I even collected NBA cards so I could say how much love their own state/city loves them too. Since I am not from there, I already have the love, what more from them?

Well, upsets do happen especially if they are up against a strong team. We cannot deny that it is going to happen and our home team could be defeated by any team if they are stronger than them.

Home and away can be considered probably if the team is strong or else it’s a waste of time, we’ve always seen good teams lost their home game either draw but, there’s nothing special. The only reason why Home advantage is considered as a big deal when placing a bet is because they do every possible best to win, the most common home advantage I have seen is draw and casino always give odds like this 2UP as it’s beneficial. Looking at home game always makes one lose most times seeing strong teams giving their all now home or away.

this is a factor that you need to take in account. but can have just a little effect on the final outcome.
I agree with you, the factors of the field and the weather will be something more buses thinking about because there are some players who are accustomed to funds that do not, it will indirectly affect how they play, especially the worst in the soccer match when it rains because Almost all teams when playing during rainy weather they are always not optimal.

Of course it will not guarantee victory for the team that competes, but if you look back at Dortmund and Stuttgart's re -fight yesterday, you might see how supporters in the cage are more than that when they do away matches, this will be cycologically affecting the visitors if supporters They are many, maybe this needs to be considered, although honestly this will depend on the mentality of a team in playing, it's just that every player is not the same.

A strong team is always a strong team whether home/away match. And they can win both at home ground or away. But the home ground is always at the favour of the home team because they understand the environment more than the away. But the major factor is the squad and not the field. And if the team is not strong then be a home air away they still loss. But so far from my football experience in the past years, there is always an advantage for home games.
