Title: How many Bitcoins do you own or have you collected until now?
Post by: taufik123 on June 09, 2024, 04:54:28 AM
Looking at an old thread from 2011 that talked about how many bitcoins they have, it made me think that getting Bitcoin is very easy.
How Many Bitcoins do you own? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=12893.0)

Most of them earn from mining, giveaways, faucets and some contests that give away Bitcoin prizes.

I know about Bitcoin and this Forum in 2016 and back then it was quite easy to get 1 BTC just by entering a bounty or contest.

Those who have been able to survive until now with thousands or even hundreds of Bitcoins that they have held, it is incredible.
But most people have sold it at a high price in the past, but if you add it up now, then it is millions of dollars that you won't be able to get easily.

They have 100++ in the past

Enough ;)

I will say that I've got 100 saved away in a tough to access location for a rainy day. Or you know, USD collapse.

Reading this makes me really upset that I sold 112 (all) of my BTC a couple months ago for only $118...
Don't feel bad, I sold 5K for 1500€

Reading this makes me really upset that I sold 112 (all) of my BTC a couple months ago for only $118...

I've only been able to scrounge 10 or so BTC since then via mining... kinda depressing the more I think about it :-[

500 or so.

165. I'm down to half hashing power though since a card pooped out on me :'(

About 583, after spending some on Namecoins. I guess it's a lot to some people but of course I'm greedy so I wish I had more.

73.51 + whats left on btcguild.com, not much.
I made them all(with pools)..

I can say i am happy with my profit

approx 320. Most in bitbills ;P

And now, How many Bitcoins do you have now or how much have you ever accumulated?

That is because bitcoin was still very cheap. In 2011, 1 bitcoin reached $1 for the first time. Granted, that year it rose up to almost $30 which is crazy growth but just compare it to today’s price. Almost at $70k, everyone is holding and not even everyone can easily buy 1 btc.

Bitcoin has proved itself to be a very valuable asset that no one is really willing to give some away anymore. Some people do not even want to reveal that they hold bitcoin for safety purposes.

To be honest it's easy to see riches these people could've made just by holding the hundreds of bitcoin they had back then. But the question is, which of them actually held the coins until today? Also taking note that it's far harder to hold with conviction back then compared to today.

But to answer your question: I don't have enough bitcoin; no one does.

That's an interesting question that nobody would honestly answer.

Anyway, I also came here in 2016. Bitcoin was already showing that its potentials are within reach. Alas, I was still naïve, and suspicious too. I came here when a coin was only worth hundreds. And although it was already widely accepted that it could still rise, that it would reach as high as $10,000 or $20,000 was probably moonshot. Or perhaps I was sorely lacking in foresight.

Had I known, I could have bought tens and kept it until today. But I failed that part. So, I might as well make up for that failure and gather as much as I can today. Nothing's too late. A million per coin is a long shot today. But it's just the same story all over again. Tomorrow, we'll look back to this day and be happy we were given a second chance. Others will not enjoy this passing opportunity.

To answer your question in the title and to reiterate and prove what @mk4 just said, I don't have enough bitcoin and I don't think that with the current price of it, I will never have enough because I will be continuously gathering as much bitcoin as I can and it will never reach that coveted one unless I make a lot of money in my other stuff that I work on. This conversations that are so casually talking about hundreds of bitcoin is such a nostalgia and regret to me, I've known about bitcoin and I would've invested in it but I wasn't that interested enough to really try it out and at the end of the day, I can't really blame myself though, I was still in the last leg of elementary education so the money isn't really there anyway.

Members in that thread were able to answer that question cause that was a long time ago, bitcoin was very low in value and saying you had 10, 100 or a 1000 of it made no difference and did not matter to others or attract any undue attention. Bitcoin was still just a speculation, one they must have been ridiculed for sticking to and they used threads like that as motivation to each other

None of them if asked today will talk transparently about their finance now and no one now would either. Even owning half a bitcoin is enough to attract attention of spammers and worst.

To some it up ? like those answers above as I am not having enough bitcoin now because maybe we are not making it enough unless we become millionaire from bitcoin then that would be a different answer i guess.

but what I wanted to change in the question is "How many Bitcoin have passed our hands" an this will longer the thread because for sure like me? i have seen so much coins that happened i owe in the past and now I lost them all because of misuse and mishandled .

I have still some portion in my holding and praying that I can keep this and will add at least for the next 10 years more.

@taufik123, you are right to say that accumulating 1 Bitcoin was very easy in 2016 and years back before 2016 too but it is not easy right now to even get a half of Bitcoin because of how expensive the coin have become.
From signature campaign, I have accumulate Bitcoin that worth $80+ (0.001244 Bitcoin)and from my personal investment I have invested only a small amount  ;D.

Yeah, those who have hundreds of even thousands of BTC are early adopters, but I believed a few of  them really stay in the market up to this point. Maybe when they have doubled their money, they sold it and never come back.

But that is the advantage of being early in the game, not just in Bitcoin but in any other technologies.

As for the question, not sure if everyone here will answer that, for sure we want to remain anonymous and will not tell how much or how big our wallet are.

So far, I'm not yet on my goal so I can be comfortable not working for a year in my life but I'm almost getting to that point now so I'm not that rushed or frantic about where to get the money that I'm going to put into bitcoin but I'm consistently invested through DCA so I'm well enough. Really cool to see conversations like that where they're so casual about the price of bitcoin and that 100 is such a normal amount that it's so awesome that you'd wish you were there at that time but then I remember that probably 10 years or more from now, 0.001 would be a crazy number for other people too because bitcoin is expected to go up in the long-term so I'm happy that I'm not too late and that I can still get to the possibility that I'd make a lot of money out of profit from hodling my bitcoin even if the price of one is already in the tens of thousands of dollars.

If we talks about 2016, it was an easy way to accumulate many satoshis. I remember those days as I tried to get Bitcoin from the faucet. That was memorable for me and I am sure that many people who were there that year will have the same experience.

However, as the years go by, it will be difficult to accumulate more Bitcoin. Bitcoin price increase and we must allocates more money to buy Bitcoin. But for those people who already had a good experienced before, they will still buy Bitcoin and hold it.

But I will not tells how many Bitcoin I have until now. That is my secret and only me that will knows for sure. I will still buy more Bitcoin because Bitcoin can helps me to make a big profit in the future.

At each moment our chances of owning bitcoins are quite different, and things in the past happened to be the answer to everything easily, I also earned bitcoins very easily before with just the advertising, but I couldn't keep it because at that time there wasn't much awareness of this field and I was more skeptical about bitcoin than I believed it would become a valuable asset in the future.

And that lesson helped me realize the trust that needs to be nurtured, and not regret too much about what happened because it can also come back and advise me to hold on to the bitcoin I have, but in the present and in the future, I really believe in bitcoins and accumulating them from small insignificant.

I have come across discussions like this in several social networks but one thing is common, those who had bitcoin 100+ back 2011 all ended up in regrets, even here in the forum must of this people may not even have any bitcoin at this point. It has now become a big deal to accumulate at least 1BTC even with our convictions about bitcoin.

Personally, I don't know if Not Enough is an accurate word to use in my case but for sure I'm far back in my hodlings. If there is another word that can express that I'm not holding enough I would have preferred to use it because truly I'm broke in bitcoin.

I know about Bitcoin and this Forum in 2016 and back then it was quite easy to get 1 BTC just by entering a bounty or contest.
Unfortunately we can't repeat that time and now there is no way to collect bitcoins if you don't have money, except by joining sigcam which pays btc and even then there is a fairly limited value.

Those who have been able to survive until now with thousands or even hundreds of Bitcoins that they have held, it is incredible.
But most people have sold it at a high price in the past, but if you add it up now, then it is millions of dollars that you won't be able to get easily.
Most people must have sold the bitcoins they had at that time and it is very unfortunate because they don't know the long-term prospects which are quite promising. If at that time people easily got bitcoins and still hold them until now, then their wealth is quite high. There is no point in regretting because we never know what the future will be like and our task today is only to try to collect as much as possible.

Maybe no one dares to say how many bitcoins they have because it is in line with anonymous. But for me not too much and maybe trying to keep buying with the existing financial ability. For yourself have you passed 2 or 3 bitcoins now?

I don't have enough bitcoin; in fact,  what I hold might even be someone's daily spending, and its worth is not even up to what I could be proud of right now.

To be honest it's easy to see riches these people could've made just by holding the hundreds of bitcoin they had back then. But the question is, which of them actually held the coins until today? Also taking note that it's far harder to hold with conviction back then compared to today.

Those who were still into bitcoin from that time until now might still be holding, or some might have sold out during the last bull run that took bitcon to $60k+ and above, which was the first time that price was reached.

Bitcoin has proved itself to be a very valuable asset that no one is really willing to give some away anymore. Some people do not even want to reveal that they hold bitcoin for safety purposes.
Yes it is privacy, I am not forcing to say how much you or anyone else says bitcoin ownership.
But in the past, since I was on the forum, maybe I could get about 10 BTC easily and it kept growing until I finally sold it at ATH 2017.

To be honest, it's easy to see riches, these people could've made just by holding the hundreds of bitcoins they had back then. But the question is, which of them actually held the coins until today? Also taking note that it's far harder to hold with conviction back then compared to today.
Most of them had sold it at that time at a price that they thought was quite expensive.
But we also don't know, whether they still keep it or not.
If you learn from Davinci Jeremie who bought Bitcoin below $1 in 2011, just like the old thread posted and sold it in the 2022-2023 period,
he is already a billionaire now. It was the strength of the Diamond Hand.

That's an interesting question that nobody would honestly answer.
None of them if asked today will talk transparently about their finance now and no one now would either.
Even owning half a bitcoin is enough to attract attention of spammers and worst.
I already know that, the title is just a bait to get people to react.
No one will reveal their current Bitcoin when the price of Bitcoin is very expensive.
But in the past it has become a common thing because the price is still very cheap.

Had I known, I could have bought tens and kept it until today. But I failed that part.
Almost everyone would say so, and I also assumed to buy Bitcoin when it first came out and hold it for the long term, but believe it or not, most of them won't be able to hold it for the long term unless they forget or actually have a target for a long time.

Unfortunately we can't repeat that time and now there is no way to collect bitcoins if you don't have money, except by joining sigcam which pays btc and even then there is a fairly limited value.
Nothing can go back in time, what can be done now is how you get started and start buying Bitcoin gradually.
Whether you can hold it for the next 10 years or not, this is just an option to start investing in Bitcoin.

Collecting bitcoins from signature campaigns is a pretty good way to go, as long as you still have income other than signatures.

I am aware that no one will answer to Bitcoin ownership, it is privacy and it becomes very vulnerable to being known by the public.
It is also because the price of Bitcoin is expensive and has always reached ATH to date.

That's a great question mate, actually even though we don't hold any bitcoins now and we can't disclose how much we hold now but when we think of the times when we had bitcoins, it makes us wonder where it went because if you add it all up , we can say that we have accumulated bitcoins but since we  used it for something else, it will be just a memory.
Sometimes we even regret that we wish we hadn't used it or we had been smarter in using our holdings but there is nothing we can do because it has happened, maybe it would be better if we just learn from those mistakes and be a better investor when it comes to spending our holdings once we have the opportunity to hold a large amount of coins again.

Nobody is foolish enough to answer this question honestly. ;D

Those who had collected coins back when bitcoin was in three digits have mostly sold and moved on but only being bitter at their past choices now if they are alive and kicking.

Much of the next generation is contemplating whether the buy or not buy. My take is to keep buying whenever the opportunity strikes and keep increasing that number but dont tell anyone about it.

They either sold their bitcoins at cheap prices, lost their bitcoins by did not make back up, lost back up or other reasons. They possibly were regretful with lost bitcoins by their decisions or mistakes and they changed to be scammers.

Forum have Donators, VIP members turn to scammers and I guess one of reasons is because they were regretful with lost fortune, then wanted to get new fortune through scam efforts.

It can be seen that at that time, people were quite open and did not hesitate to share the bitcoin they had, maybe because bitcoin at that time did not have too much value. But now each bitcoin is worth almost 70 thousand dollars and I think it would be unwise for us to publicly disclose the number of bitcoins we hold. It's not just privacy but there are many different reasons that I believe we all know.

70k$ is not a small amount of money for many 3rd world countries and I think many of us will not have many holders above 1BTC, IMO. Not to mention, today's market is not just bitcoin, we have hundreds of thousands of altcoins and I think the majority of people will invest more in altcoins instead of just holding bitcoin.

The question you asked is certainly a good question, but it is a secret that no one in the right brain at least wants to tell anyone who owns how many bitcoins. These are personal matters and should not be discussed. Keeping bitcoins is challenging work. I'm investing myself slowly, but whenever I need it on the phone and use it in my daily work, I don't take it out at once because I always have some investment in it I invest in bitcoins, and I love this Investing in Bitcoin I got nothing like that from anywhere else this bitcoin stood with my dream at one time though it was with my own investment money it gave me a good amount of profit. I don't have BTC, but I am investing in Bitcoin and hope to get more in the future.

Totally agree but I think that OP doesn't really mind if you say that you've got enough or more than enough in your investment, pretty sure that OP knows about this thing already so I'm not totally repulsed about this question. Also, even if you don't share it, if someone's determined enough how much you've got when you're joining a campaign, they can just check out the address that you're using to see a rough estimate of your total bitcoin haul.

This is the same question that someone you are introducing Bitcoin to will ask, and the rule says...tell no one how many bitcoin that you have.  :D

Bitcoin was very cheap way back and people having those significant amount of bitcoin were those that saw a great potential in bitcoin. I don't think that they will be able to hodli for long because they would have been carried away by the huge profit from their bitcoin and would have sold to cash out. Who knows maybe some of them are still holding theirs.

I have not accumulated enough Bitcoin, so I am still buying and will not sell, so that in ten years time when bitcoin price will be fucking high, those who didn't buy at this current price will say that I am lucky to buy now. There is nothing like luck, it was all about trust and taking risk.

I don’t want to disclose my current holdings since it will just makes me a potential target to hacker/scammer and I hope no one will declare their actual holdings here for safety purposes. The highest accumulation of Bitcoin that I achieved is around 5BTC when bounty campaigns is still profitable. I slowly unload it when 2017 & 2021 pump was occurred but I still left certain percentage for FOMO holdings.

I think the example on OP is back to the time when Bitcoin value is still low. People back then still doesn’t feel any sense of security because the amount is still small while they are still promoting mass adoption for Bitcoin buy showing that they are persistent on accumulating.

A decent amount but not as big as with whale investors. Been accumulating especially during down times in the maarket with high hopes for good profit on this bull cycle. Quite having regrets that I sold most of my holdings on the previous bullrun but things already happened. I just keep in mind that it will never be too late to buy and invest to something that has big potential. Bitcoin have proven its reputation for countless times already. And I'm just waiting for further market confirmations to definitely buy more. Bullrun is yet to start I believe and there's more to hope for.

An estimate won't be that much of a risk and you won't be posting the credentials in the first place along with your announcement of your token holdings. But yes, it would be best to be careful.

These days it's safe to hide the amount of Bitcoin you own. When you announce on public forum like this about your Bitcoin holdings. For the sake of privacy one should never disclose about his/her Bitcoin holdings to anyone especially on a public forum.

I hold enough amount in Bitcoin and with that I can live enjoy sometime without doing anything but I still believe it's something I would kept private and wouldn't tell anyone about it. I can surely say that the ones who adopted Bitcoin in its early days are the ones who hold quite good amounts even till this day.

I know a few of those have lost their wallet private keys and a few of those have sold their holding when they saw price increase of Bitcoin but there are still some holder who're holding it even till this day and surely they will not sell it until it reaches $1M in value.

Whoever was able to take advantage of those giveaways just for signing up and is an OG definitely made out alright, but I think its naive of you to post this and expect that many folks will actually come forward here. For the ones that do probably already sold and got out of the game...

Exactly, its better to stay lowkey and hidden or private about how many bitcoin you currently has because for sure there maybe lutking out there aiming for a worthy investor to be rubbed or scam, Maybe its safe to say that an investors has gain some quite an amount of bitcoin over time, and also for me I would say I gain a lot of bitcoin holdings from my other investment and because I do DCA, so I'm proud of what I accumulated at this time, it is enough for me to buy something I want and something I need and also I became more financial independent and not ask for money to my parents in that way it will be less expenses for them, and I did that when I'm in my college era that's what I'm proud of about holding and investing bitcoin. And for the time I invest in bitcoin, I'm proud of myself that I've grown my holdings and will keep on increasing them.

The longer the value increases and makes many people worry about its safety.

An estimate won't be that much of a risk and you won't be posting the credentials in the first place along with your announcement of your token holdings. But yes, it would be best to be careful.
People who say they won't share their Portfolios, won't tell you how much they're Bitcoin, maybe they're too skeptical.
But that won't apply to Influencers who will publish their Portfolio to attract the interest that many people will follow,
that way there will be more followers and more money they get, and it also depends on what the real goal is.

I'm not forcing anyone to tell me the details, I'm just giving a topic that will get people to react and talk about privacy.

As you said, the most important thing is not to share in detail let alone share personal wallet credentials and of course it will be better to be careful,
Don't be easily lured by scammers.

Also taking note that it's far harder to hold with conviction back then compared to today.
Bitcoin has reached such high value that if you had invested before, you might see some growth and feel tempted to take it out. Even if you only had invested a small amount, anyone will be tempted to just take the money and spend it somewhere. This is why we need to focus on our goals and not let us get distracted.

But to answer your question: I don't have enough bitcoin; no one does.
Even the rich ones would want to own more bitcoin if they could. Knowing how much they can earn through bitcoin no one would want to even give at least 0.0001 of btc.

I never had too much Bitcoin—nothing like these stories you hear of people owning hundreds or thousands. It was somewhere between 2014 and 2015; I can't remember exactly, but I recall that I had bought BTC for approximately $350 to $400 per coin, maybe even less than that; imagine that. Being a dumb teenager, I thought that it was expensive. Little did I know. It was approximately 0.45, not sure how much exactly, but probably ranging from 0.45 to 0.50, which was the most I've ever owned till today.

I still have a long way to go to reach what I had in BTC terms back in 2014, and probably not going to anywhere in the near future.

Michael Saylor used to say he would go to bed "worrying that he didnt have enough Bitcoin"

I'm not sure that we "worry" but we definitely wish we had more.

I got in just after you so, Christmas 2016 I when I made the decision to buy my first Bitcoin.
The price was around $1000 and I said I'll play it safe and buy $100!

The majority of early adopters didnt have the foresight to see where Bitcoin was headed
let alone ourselves. I still think we are early too, its hard to believe at $70,000 but others will
look back to these times too with regret at only dipping their toe in instead of the whole leg.

Nice try FBI!
lol this is such cheap work if this is how the fbi finds out whether you have or you don’t hold some bitcoin and how much you do. They most likely have much advanced technology to try and find out what they want to find out. But even though bitcoin’s transactions are public, no one can actually know who is behind those transactions.

Even in this forum, how can the fbi use this to identify who are you?

And now, How many Bitcoins do you have now or how much have you ever accumulated?

I have a couple, with the amount itself remaining a mystery for obvious reasons, but I am confident enough to say that I am prepared for whatever is going to happen to bitcoin, be it good or bad. I have enough to go around and make me fucking rich when it does pump, just enough to use it as a landing mat when the price crashes. So it's all good. I am quite aware of how hard it is to buy bitcoin now financially, considering not everyone's gonna have 70k just lying in their sock drawers and shit, but this is why I always advise people to do DCA, just because you can't buy a whole bitcoin at once doesn't mean you can't make money in this industry anymore. Buy a couple every now and again, reap the benefits, rinse and repeat.

Also FBI would not work that way and I think OP just want to have fun on the discussion created then see the response of people regarding on the question he ask. We don't need to disclose figures but we can give something on when we start accumulating and for sure that one cannot put us on risk and also its hard for us to identified since we don't do KYC in this forum so there's nothing to worry about since we are all anonymous here.

But back on the question asked by OP I start accumulating last year although I don't have huge volume but I think its enough for me and targeting to sell it when price of bitcoin possibly reached at $100k or whatever good circumstances happen if I think that situation is enough for me.

I am aware that no one will answer to Bitcoin ownership, it is privacy and it becomes very vulnerable to being known by the public.
It is also because the price of Bitcoin is expensive and has always reached ATH to date.

In this case, you should understand how soon this topic will become a mega thread containing the same type of answers. :)
But yes, your selection of people who had many bitcoins makes me remember and maybe a little sad about missed opportunities. I also found quite a few posts where people simply did not know what to do with bitcoins and simply sold them for pennies. However, this is history and worth remembering.

Bitcoin was barely known back then and didn't cost much, so people were more open to sharing information about their holdings. But nowadays, even saying you have 1 Bitcoin means you're richer than most people in the world. People don't want to become a target of robbery or scam, and owning Bitcoin can draw attention of tax authorities in some countries as well. So I'm not surprised people aren't eager to share the details.
I can say that I sell regularly, and because of that, I have a very small amount. But I intend to accumulate more.

I have read countless topics both on this forum and in other social spaces where individuals continue to blame themselves for not holding their Bitcoin up until today. Then I also came across a topic on this forum where the OP said that everyone actually sold or bought their bitcoin at the price they deserved. Those that sold their bitcoin at a very early stage perhaps used the profit to do very important stuff for themselves because if they never had any use for the money then, they would not have sold their coin. While people who bought Bitcoin when the price had already boomed also bought it at a deserved price, if they had bought it when it was early developed, they would have also sold early.

It was after the price of Bitcoin began to surge in every bull market that investors realized the importance of holding their bitcoin for a long period of time. I don't have up to 1 bitcoin, but I think I have enough of its fraction to make a huge profit if the price gets to $100k or above.

What would be most regrettable is if someone still doesn’t know about bitcoin until now. On the positive side, at least they are already aware of bitcoin and knows what to do to maximize profits.

Yes, this is the most important note when we invest in bitcoin because it is volatile and risky. This is also something people often remind each other but I don't think many people will do this. Many people are placing all their hopes on bitcoin and investing everything they have into bitcoin with the dream that bitcoin can help them escape their current difficult life. Many people are investing money they cannot afford to lose.

Of course, we can invest in bitcoin with any amount of money we have as long as it is an amount we can afford to lose, no one forces us to have full 1BTC and DCA is the strategy best when it comes to bitcoin because in the short term it is unpredictable.

I know about Bitcoin and this Forum in 2016 and back then it was quite easy to get 1 BTC just by entering a bounty or contest.

It was much easier than today, but I can't agree that it was quite easy because even then it took a long time to earn 1 BTC. I was active on faucets at the time and there were days when I could earn over 500k satoshi, which would mean that it would take me about half a year for 1 BTC - which means that you really had to be persistent to reach that goal.

Those who have been able to survive until now with thousands or even hundreds of Bitcoins that they have held, it is incredible.
But most people have sold it at a high price in the past, but if you add it up now, then it is millions of dollars that you won't be able to get easily.

Only those who were early adopters can have such amounts of BTC, and if there is anyone on the forum who is among them, he really belongs to the minority.

And now, How many Bitcoins do you have now or how much have you ever accumulated?

This is not a question that should be asked in a forum where we should value privacy - because this forum is read by very bad and evil people who would certainly like to know such information.

Sharing such information publicly these days carries way more liability. Back then there was really no sophisticated capability to link a bitcoin address to a public identity, whereas there is much more now with companies like Eliptic, TRM Labs and Chainalysis. It is not wise for one to share their bitcoin holdings. Me... I lost all my bitcoin in a boating accident.

Well, yes, there is always a 'what if" comment after someone has missed an opportunity, but in the aspect of Bitcoin investment, you only missed the opportunity to buy below a certain low price, but don't allow yourself to also not buy from the current price you are seeing it today because in the future, today's price will also be considered a very low price, and people who missed buying now may still end up regretting why they didn't buy today.

Bitcoin is already becoming more popular than before. The only people who might not have heard about Bitcoin are those who are living in the poorest part of the world, where there is no quality internet connection.

In the period of 2016-2017 I was quite persistent to get more Bitcoin because it is easy to get Bitcoin from various ways that can be done.

I participated in dozens of bounties and airdrops, and I was really focused on that time, until I finally got an airdrop that gave me a profit of 3BTC because of the incredible price increase and some bounties that gave me a pretty big reward, and then I bought Bitcoin.

This is not a question that should be asked in a forum where we should value privacy - because this forum is read by very bad and evil people who would certainly like to know such information.
Yes, I'm aware of that, I don't expect an honest answer about how much bitcoin a person has.
It's just a question that would make someone say about how they were in the past and how they tried to get more Bitcoin.
The portfolio is privacy that no one else should know.

That will change now, internet access can be easily obtained and even wherever you are as long as there is still a sky because Starlink is available for unlimited internet.

But some education needs to be done to make anyone understand Bitcoin and crypto.
They will soon know how the world actually works and they will be part of this mass adoption.

Indeed, it would be better for us to never tell the public how much Bitcoin we have collected and only people who we can trust need to know, because if we tell other people it is possible that people will have evil intentions and of course this will be very detrimental.
Choosing to collect Bitcoin as planning for retirement is of course very possible because we can all see that Bitcoin will always be able to give us profits after being able to hold it for a long period of time.

LOL, if you ask now it will probably be quite weird and impossible.
But if you started in the crypto space around 2015-2017, earning 3 BTC or more from airdrops and Bounty campaigns, it was commonplace.

There have been many Projects in the past that have given great rewards to their participants, and the requirements are also quite easy.

Adding more Bitcoin to your early retirement is the way to go.
You just need to accumulate more right now and then just enjoy the profits, it will be a revolutionary money-making machine that will last for the long term.

Same here. I don’t think it’s advisable to expose how many bitcoins we have earned all throughout our investment journey. Even if we’re using anonymous codes here, it’s still safer to just keep only to yourself how many bitcoins you have. The more you hid it privately, the more it gets safer and secured.

Personally, I have invested already a good amount of bitcoin but due to some unforeseen events, I end up selling some of them in order to get out from a bad situation. And I’ve no regrets with that. Now, I’m still in the process of adding more bitcoin to my portfolio with the help of DCA. And I’m going to continue this even after bull run.

One of the reasons why I am keeping Bitcoin is because of its decentralised nature. Keeping fiats in banks will expose you to crime because almost all the bank staff can get information about your account. But Bitcoin promotes privacy so it will be difficult to know how much someone owns. I will not also support the notion of telling people in the public how many BTC I own because I prefer to keep it private. Anyway, I have not acquired up to one Bitcoin.

I did a post titled Is it still possible to retire early? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5499064.msg64176823#msg64176823) because I was wondering if it is still possible to escape from the rat race early in this global economic situation. People like you who believed in Bitcoin early and kept it till now will comfortably have a good retirement life if they have accumulated enough to sustain themselves. I also want to retire early so, I have started acquiring gradually using the DCA method.

Too personal, But I'll tell (believe it or not) that it's double digits. :)

Was it hard to get? No.
Was it hard to hold? At first yes, before 2017. In 2017-18 everything changed. I got over 2x boost and even when it fell down to 5k or so I was still up 6 or 7x from 2015-16. Since then it became easy.

I had more but sold a bit in every bull market. I also bought some back in every bear market and earned some from signature campaigns. I barely sold anything I earned from signatures during the last 4 years.

Early people that had the opportunity to accumulate Bitcoin in this forum are very lucky, they accumulated Bitcoin when Bitcoin is very cheap, and some of them sell them at early stage, while some of them might still be holding their Bitcoin.
I am sure that the number of people that will still be holding these Bitcoin will not be much any more, and they will be among the top investors that trust Bitcoin.

Quote

Personally, I don't know if Not Enough is an accurate word to use in my case but for sure I'm far back in my hodlings. If there is another word that can express that I'm not holding enough I would have preferred to use it because truly I'm broke in bitcoin.
Even if you hold a little fraction of Bitcoin, you are an investor, you don’t need to show or tell everyone the amount of Bitcoin you are holding because it should be a secret something that only you should know for security reasons. All I know is that, with time, we will also accumulate if we keep buying with DCA.

I can bet anything that majority of those guys did not hold beyond 2017 bull run and the few that did most likely sold around 2021 bull run. The percentage of those who held from those good old days till now might be so insignificant if truly it can be known. I do see some of them in WO section but they will never disclose how much they have and I doubt there is anyone that will willing do that now. I believe back then people were mainly mining those Bitcoins with few people buying theirs, that was why it was easy for people to share their Bitcoin balance.

But to answer your question: I don't have enough bitcoin; no one does.
That sounds like sarcasm though because there are still people holding big bag of Bitcoin. If no one have enough Bitcoin there where are the Bitcoins located? Maybe Blackrock and those in their league have collected all the Bitcoin :D

I only own a small amount in BTC, very small, believe me.

I know that so many people think all early adopters have hundreds of BTC in their wallets, just because they knew BTC early enough, when it was 'easier' to mine it or earn it in other ways. However, i am sure that not so many of these early adopters were able to hold their coins all these years, a lot of them have sold a long time ago, and have even started acquiring BTC again with newer adopters.

Please writer of this post, permit me to answer you based on the topic because I am still a newbie because I can not be logical enough yet to respond in details.
So, I have actually not got any bitcoin yet, not even 1 or any fraction of it. I am still on learning process on how to invest and keep my assets secured. Reading about how investors have lost their funds on bitcoin investment feels fearing to venture into it without knowing how the system works. But I hope to invest soon.

Bitcoin at the time of 2011 was peanuts maybe a price range of €0.3 he said 1500 BTC selling it for €1500 means it is completely worthless and at that time it was still very easy to get bitcoin especially from faucets that could get up to 5 BTC.

Recalling the memory of the past: https://twitter.com/BitcoinMagazine/status/1799852280449278443
But I never experienced it.  :'(

What do you have now? Not much, just keep a little bitcoin in my possession. I am not a person who has money to always buy bitcoin but when the opportunity for money comes, I will immediately buy it again.
Honestly, family needs are more important, so that must be fulfilled while bitcoin is the second choice.

Probably never going to be enough I'd say? It is not double digits yet, pretty close, but not yet. I would've probably gotten to two digits by now if I didn't panic sell when the pandemic started. I bought it at around 12k ish, sold at idk, 5k I think? Pandemic and panic just meshed together which made me sold, together with me being inexperienced with crypto lol.

Would probably go down, planning to sell quite a bit when the market hits its next bull run so any goal (such as owning more than one) would probably take around 2-3 years ish before I get that double.

Yes, personally I also have the same condition. I keep very few assets due to many factors, and of course that makes me regret it. Most of us are probably too quickly satisfied with the price of bitcoin. Even though we are very sure that the price of bitcoin can become very high, sometimes an urgent need makes someone have to sell the bitcoin that they are holding for the long term, especially if at that time we feel that the price of bitcoin has become very high.

There is no need to regret it when you sell your BTC, there are certain situations in which you have to sell your coins because you need fiat to solve some problems in real life. You can always accumulate BTC again, as long you have a good source of income or good skills, so you're either going to buy or earn it.  Needless to say that BTC is also a currency, so spending it should never be ruled out of our books.

~snip~

I have never participated in bounty campaigns, but I was seriously involved in faucets and of course sig campaigns - so even though your 3 BTC seems like a lot to some, they may have forgotten that 1 BTC during 2016 was worth between $380 - $1000 at the end of that year. This means that here we can talk about a max profit of $3000, or maybe more if some of it was achieved during 2017.

Today, 3 BTC seems like a lot of money, but before that was not the case, especially during 2015 when 1 BTC was worth just over $200.

Sometimes i do think if I can do socery and bring back those days when you can easily afford so many BTC with just a little dollar, because when i come through live stories of people who have hold their BTC for the past 10 years now i begin to feel like this people just turned millionaires in dollars overnight but it dawn on me that they were resilient, consistent, patient and determined before they reach this level of success in their life. In all, have diverse means of income so that you can actually risks part of your money on Bitcoin for a longer period of time because who knows what the price of Bitcoin might also be in the next 10 years so it is better to accumulate now than also regret like some others who had this golden opportunity years back but they neglected it but those who risked their money then are the ones enjoying it now.
I can't really disclose how much Bitcoin I have gotten but maybe when i have accumulated to the extent of owning 1 BTC then I will rejoice fully and share my experience as well because it is not easy to own 1 BTC now because I know how much is 1 BTC in my country's currency and you can actually use it to buy some tangible assets and even have reserves left.

I think no one will answer specifically how much they own bitcoin, for reasons of ownership privacy and not wanting to expose their assets,
currently to get 1 btc you need a lot of money so no matter how many btc you have one is lucky to be able to survive until the new ATH in this session

I also think that Bitcoin still has the potential to increase in price in the future so it is still okay to buy now and keep hodling. In the future many of us might regret selling our coin that's why we should have plans for our Bitcoin. We need to do everything possible to ensure we keep our coins even if it will take to alternative sources of income. Even if you have plans to sell during the bull run, there should be a plan to replace what we have sold when the price drops. Having emergency funds could also help to reduce the impromptu selling of Bitcoin due to sudden problems or challenges. Emergency fund is very important for long time Bitcoin hodlers because life conditions are unpredictable.

As long as you sell for a good cause, then there’s no room for regrets. Regrets are only for those who keep missing opportunities to invest in bitcoin, not because they don’t have sufficient funds, but because they don’t have enough faith in bitcoin.

My goal is to also earn a good amount of bitcoin in the long run, that’s why I really work hard to earn a living and to sustain my bitcoin investment. Although there might be some inevitable circumstances that will push us to sell, and that’s okay, as long as you never stop buying and hodling bitcoin whenever you’re capable to do it.

This. I also sell regularly that is why I only have few fractions left with me right now but if I had to calculate my earnings since 2017 to 2024 I think it all has a total of more or less 1 BTC. I am not a fool to make myself a target here because if only I knew back then that hodling those coins will make me a millionaire in my local currency then I probably did that but what done is done. 😁

If we look at "how many bitcoins went into my wallets" type of thing, way above 100 bitcoins so far, I even had 40-50 bitcoins just within one year as well back in the day. However, I have nearly none right now, maybe like couple hundred dollars if I am lucky but looks like I may need to cash that out as well. The reality is that we are looking at something that takes some time and because of that a lot of people do not realize how tough it is.

This was my income, meaning that "if you kept all of it today you would have millions" is not possible for me, if I kept it all, then how am I suppose to live? What will I use to pay my bills? Food? Rent? I had to cash that out and I do not regret it a single bit to be fair. It does feel great to have this chance at the very least.

People like you who believed in Bitcoin early and kept it till now will comfortably have a good retirement life if they have accumulated enough to sustain themselves.
I started playing around with bitcoin pretty early, but not as early as I could have. I did some work online back in 2010/2011 for some people, and they proposed payment in bitcoin. I am not going to lie, but I thought they were trying to scam me by offering me a payment method no one knew about and very few people used. Had I been smarter back then, I would have had thousands of bitcoin to my name. Of course, there are no guarantees I wouldn't have sold some or most of them, but I still rejected the idea at the time. Thinking back now, those dudes were early adopters, and perhaps even miners.

Yeah, i don't think anytime is late to start buying or using BTC, but recent adopters usually look back and wish they had bought earlier. I often tell people to put that thought behind them, even some of these early adopters sold their coins a long time ago, so who is to say you wouldn't have sold yours if you were an early adopter.
It does feel great to have this chance at the very least.
I agree, BTC is not a money making scheme and whatever comes out of ones investment in BTC, they should feel great to just be part of this network and have the knowlede of this censorship resistant money.

I don't have a lot to say here. The most Bitcoin I ever earned was no more than 3 BTC.

In the past, getting 1 BTC could be said to be easy using the method you have mentioned. If you think about it, expecting the ease of getting 1 Bitcoin in this way is no longer easy, so I thought that in the midst of our knowledge about Bitcoin, we wanted to go back to the old days.
If you want to say regret, everything has been missed.

It’s really difficult to acquire and hold a lot of bitcoin most especially if you are only here for few years and  yet bitcoin price continues to become expensive. Even holding 1 btc costs a lot of money, so expect that majority is not able to keep numerous amount of bitcoin, except for those who spend their lifetime savings and go all in. But even so, no one would admit that he got a lot, probably because privacy is the best policy. If you are too easy to expose your bitcoin hodlings, later on you will realize how’d you put yourself in a dangerous situation.

nobody can agree to expose the amount he or she has in bitcoin, I think it's abnormal to specifically categories the amount of bitcoin you have, it seems that many people doesn't like to review such because from my understanding is improper to say the amount of bitcoin you are holding in public,  some persons have up to five to twenty bitcoin but they kept it secret, theirs some people who mine bitcoin during the time of mining of bitcoin was in existence but right now, I know very well that bitcoin mining people who did it that time will still have surplus bitcoin un their folders.

That’s a straight answer, and that would answer in general. Yes, with the total cost of a single bitcoin, it’s difficult to accumulate even a single of it, that’s why it’s not surprising that majority of us do not have bitcoin at the present. Except for those who only come here to buy and hold, without facing such difficulties in their finances at some point that would push to sell early their coins.

Hihi.

For sure it's fine to discuss that before when BTC's price was just cents. But now? I don't think that someone is going to answer that genuinely on how much he's got.

Good for you that you'd have a decent amount to be able to sell at a profit. I can totally agree with you about the privacy of how much they have, to be honest, I think that we should practice not prying too much on how much someone have or respecting the privacy in terms of how much bitcoin they have, after all it's not our money and at the same time it's a practice that would help us prevent the possibility that someone is casing us and we might unknowingly become a target of scammers and hackers because we've made it public because we never thought much about it.

A realistic and not overly imposing answer that you should not sell Bitcoin or just hold without selling anything.
Anyone has the right to sell their property for various reasons, especially related to survival, paying internet bills, electricity, water, food, rent, etc.

Those who can get through that and still have some savings from the past, they may still be lucky to be able to invest.
But it's certainly different when one only lives from Bitcoin and from this forum.

-snip-
You seem to have been in the crypto space for quite some time before you were on this forum.

It's not that it's not smart enough, there are many things that make someone skeptical about the new payment method,
especially Bitcoin which is just known as a digital currency which at that time was still not recognized by anyone and the price was still very cheap.

If you think about it now, there are more people who will be interested, but the price is also expensive and also depends on how the regulations are enforced.

I remember that thread, and the advice is similar then to now:  why would you discuss it in a public forum?
:-)
Actually, it doesn't matter if you want to discuss anything in a public forum, even if it is closely related to Privacy.
The important thing is that you do not give out your identity, do not give your private key and do not give out your personal wallet address.
You just need to tell a story or anything, I don't expect you to provide detailed information about your Bitcoin holdings.

The past does not need to be remembered and we shouldn't regret the past because the most important thing is how to prepare for the future. For long-term opportunities, bitcoin is still the right choice and we can try to buy slowly with the financial capabilities we have. When we understand the journey of bitcoin, the step to hold is a choice because we know that bitcoin will always produce a repeating cycle and where the price will continue to rise.

In reality, we must have several sources of fixed income to live life and work in the real world is a step to prepare for all the needs of life with family. While collecting bitcoins from signature campaigns can be used for assets and continue to be held until they reach the desired price.

Bitcoin is already becoming more popular than before. The only people who might not have heard about Bitcoin are those who are living in the poorest part of the world, where there is no quality internet connection.
That will change now, internet access can be easily obtained and even wherever you are as long as there is still a sky because Starlink is available for unlimited internet.

But some education needs to be done to make anyone understand Bitcoin and crypto.
They will soon know how the world actually works and they will be part of this mass adoption.

Yes, you are right. Some people are already introducing Bitcoin classes in schools, while some Bitcoiners have also taken it upon themselves to teach Bitcoin in schools, public places, gather friends, and teach them. There was also a post I saw on this forum where the OP was teaching about Bitcoin in the church, another topic that the OP was helping the needs with money realize from Bitcoin profit. By so doing, Bitcoin knowledge will definitely spread, and people who have money will love to invest once they have a good understanding of Bitcoin and are willing to take the risk of investing because, right now, no one can earn 3 bitcoins from airdros or bounties again, they have to invest. I sometimes wish I knew about Bitcoin since 2016 because it would have been easy to earn it freely like you did. No regrets though. I'll keep accumulating with DCA.

I got BTC by buying on the exchange and at that time the market was green, around 0.022 BTC from my work savings. Indeed, at that time I wanted to hold onto it for some time but a few days later the market corrected and went down more and more so I decided to sell my BTC and was only able to hold on for 2 weeks.

Unfortunately, it did not lead me to become a bitcoin holder that early on. Like I said, it could have had I been a little smarter and conducted some research on bitcoin when it was proposed to me as a payment method for my services, but that's all in the past now. I am still satisfied to have entered the market when I did.

Yes, we have to be grateful for what we have gotten so far, everyone of course wants to collect as much as they can in accumulating it, They can carry out any activity in Cypto, whether they participate in a giveaway, project campaign (bounty) or something else. What's truly free doesn't require a large amount of capital. With the development of this asset, it is quite true what you say, many of them invest in crypto. It is not recommended to invest money that affects our living needs, it is better to use money that is saved or not used for any needs.

Since know with bitcoin when investing in MGM investment project many bitcoin send in and out in my wallet but have some keep holding as my investment until right now looking the future will bitcoin make new higher price again?

Indeed has saving assets of bitcoin, almost one year ago keep purchasing bitcoin as my investment in monthly and allocated few percent of my salary for investing in bitcoin. For every one still empty with bitcoin assets in your wallet you can make planning in the future keep holding around $100 to $300 every month for investing in bitcoin.

The reason why I'm quoting you is to remember this reply when I come back in 10 years time. Maybe someone would had asked the same question the OP is asking and this thread will be recalled. You are making a mistake by selling your Bitcoin this early, we are closer to the bull market and soon the market will begin to pump therefore you are doing the wrong thing by selling now. You could have just held on for some more months and you can sell higher to buy again when the price falls.

I don't have enough Bitcoin bought and I'm not happy about that. I wished I had more Bitcoin by now so I can have profit when Bitcoin all time high comes but I barely have upto 0.2 Bitcoin. Before the year ends, I'm looking to increase my holding amount to 0.5 Bitcoin then I can wait for the all time high to come so I can make some profits before rebuying during the next bear market that will come after the bull market end.

Most of those people that have bought at that cheap price probably sold already not if from $50 to $100. Only a few of them really survived and held until now or from that batch, they barely hold any amount. And that is because the unpredictability of BTC by that time was quite high and so everyone wants to get something of what they've invested asap.

Keep on doing that, that's the best we can do right now while the price is starting to be more expensive.

I'm not going to reveal how many BTC I have right now. ;D It's not that much, so there's no reason for me to brag about it.
I had 1.25 BTC back in the summer of 2015, but I sold it because I was expecting the price to drop from 300 USD down to 100 USD. ;D
I remember having around 0.33 BTC back in 201-2017 and I sold most of it before the big bull run. Yeah, I know I wasn't a good trader back then. I don't know how many BTC I have earned from sig campaigns in the last 8 years. The amount must be decent, but honestly I don't care about this information.

Just saying, see back then the investors are delighted to share how much Bitcoin they own, them owning hundreds of Bitcoin but yet are open on their portfolio but we who do not own even 1 Bitcoin are secretive on how much Bitcoin we own  :D. I would also do the same, I would not aswell give a concrete answer, but I own some fractions of Bitcoin that is worth more than some cups of coffee  :D.

And now, How many Bitcoins do you have now or how much have you ever accumulated?
Even though I only have a small amount of Bitcoin right now compared to others here, I will not say how many BTC I'm holding. :D
I joined Bitcoin-paid signature campaigns since 2019 (I think), and if only I didn't convert every single Satoshi that I got from that day until now, I might have earned at around 0.2-0.5 BTC. I mean that's a huge already especially in our country where I'm living.

I don't feel any disappointment at all, and I don't expect that Bitcoin will reach this high when I was still starting to learn cryptocurrency. At the end of the day, I feel that my total Bitcoin holdings right now is what I considered as "enough", and I will eventually sell it during the bull market anyway. I'm just grateful that I learned Bitcoin, I learned cryptocurrency, I learned this forum, and I learned about investing in general. :)

To those Bitcoin holders out there, holding is good, but don't hold it forever. ;) As an investor, learn when to sell.

That would be much better and trying to give an accurate value to the bitcoins we own can be dangerous and we should not make that mistake. Everyone is trying to collect as many bitcoins as possible right now and it's not just us on this forum because even people outside the forum are doing the same thing. It's interesting when you mention a few cups of coffee because I enjoy almost unlimited coffee every day and I probably don't have that many bitcoins

So, let's conclude that bitcoin is the best asset that many people are starting to save or buy today. The question is when will we collect as many bitcoins as possible so that it has the maximum impact on long-term profits for the results. Of course no one knows because everyone will say the same thing and will not mention a concrete amount.

Bitcoin is expensive and due to its expensive nature most of the people are not able to buy one Bitcoin so they are buying it in pieces. While there are also lots of people who cannot afford it to buy in a small amount because their financial status does not allow them to do so.

Early selling in case of Bitcoin is not a good idea and if a person wants to buy Bitcoin then before buying he should know that he will not sell it after a short time because Bitcoin growth needs time. If someone sells it early then he will face loss and Bitcoin loss is a big loss therefore try to know everything before doing anything expensive.

Simply because things have changed a lot, at that time the value of bitcoin was still not high and I guess most people just wanted to speculate in bitcoin and would sell them when profitable so they did not hesitate to share their bitcoins hold. But currently, each bitcoin costs nearly $70k and not to mention people are gradually appreciating their privacy, so it's not difficult to understand why there aren't many people who own more than 1 BTC but don't want to make it public. Revealing the amount of bitcoin we hold is not only a matter of privacy but can also be a matter of face because we fear having too little bitcoin compared to others, I guess so.  ;) ;) ;)

Those days that hodlers display the amount of Bitcoins they own was when the price of Bitcoin was so low like less than $0.10 in 2010, do you know how much Bitcoin such investor who bought bitcoin then would own in November 2013 when the price surge to $1000? So those days were literally better days than now that the price got to an ATH of $73k like how many people apart from the whales can boost of owning more than 1 BTC now except a hodler who have been hodling for over a decade and there are very few investors that can say that they have been hodling for over 10 years if at all there is any and now even if one owns 1 BTC it will be hard for that person to reveal it because of some security reasons and moreover, 1 BTC is a whole lot of money for one to be flaunting on the internet regardless of the fact that majority of us are anonymous in the forum but there is still need keep personal information private from the public.

So just like the chart below of Bitcoin price movement since 2010 when the price was around $0.09 till March 2024 when it got an ATH of $73k, you will know that Bitcoin is even yet to break more higher price in the future so all we need do is to HODL.

And now, How many Bitcoins do you have now or how much have you ever accumulated?
Well, to be honest with you all, I can't really say how much bitcoins I've been able to accumulate so far for obvious reasons, but what I do have to say is that, I've not been able to accumulate up to 1 bitcoin since I began my cryptocurrency journey in 2016, and this is because; the more I try to accumulate more and more bitcoin, the more expensive it gets, further and further hindering my chances of ever getting up to 1 bitcoin.

But then, I think it's important to mention that I was in crypto all through since 2016 when I started in this industry, in fact, around 2017/2018, i sold everything, all by accumulated bitcoins and altcoins, then invested the money in another business which later crashed, I was away from crypto till around October 2020 when I came, I started afresh and since then, I've been trying to see if I can be able to hold up to 1 bitcoin, but the chances gets slimmer and slimmer each passing day - but never giving up though.

It is a fact which shows that since we have known Bitcoin, if we had bought or saved and haven't sold what we had bought and sold, we would have a lot of Bitcoin by now but unfortunately, man does not know what is going to happen in the future, how much something is going to be worth, if it is known then everyone should keep their things until that time until they become very valuable as Bitcoin has become.

When I started working online, online fee payments were made in bitcoins, and since then, if I had saved, I would have had eighteen bitcoins or maybe more, but since I didn't have any idea how much Bitcoin would be worth in the future, I used to convert my assets to fiat and spend them whenever I needed which is what someone would normally do.

We have learned our lessons mate , like me that I have been in the process of accumulating bitcoin for many years but fails to keep them all for long time instead my decisions
are mistakes and I have sold so many of my funds instead of keeping bitcoin intact until now, but like what I said I still have mine and waiting for the time that it may bring me best result and willing to wait till 10 years more.

Bitcoin has changed people's views on choosing where to invest, its ever-increasing price has made Bitcoin the most profitable investment. Bitcoin can be obtained in various ways, including those you have mentioned in Op, but as is the investment goal that is commonly used by investors, it is very difficult to maintain Bitcoin obtained in 2016 until now. I'm not sure there are people here who will be able to hold Bitcoin from 2016 to 2024 because basically the investment goal is "buy when the price is low, then sell at a high price." Investors will immediately release their holdings when the price of Bitcoin has increased, then buy back when it is trading at a cheaper price, this is how the cycle always occurs.

So my answer to your question is that I can only collect a small portion of Bitcoin because there are several reasons that make me have to release ownership of some of them.

Sorry its too private question and not answer how many bitcoin holding right now because my government will hunt for getting taxes if you show your self have many assets of cryptocurrency  ;D.
Not only will the government hunt you down but also just people with ill intention. If they find out that you have x amount of bitcoin on you they will most likely target you the most and will try different ways just to hack into your system and drain out your wallet

Let us not tell anyone the specific amount of btc we hold even to the people we love and trust. It is better safe than sorry

Holding 0.001 BTC now wouldn't sound very surprising today but 15 years down the line there would be another person like @taufik123 making a similar post as OP.
It's all about time. I am sure that 50 BTC back then wouldn't have sounded very surprising to them either as it does for us today.
Just keep accumulating as much bitcoins as possible so that we can be called as the early adopters by the younger ones in the future.

It's unfair to ask people how many Bitcoin they have when you, @OP, didn't revealed how many Bitcoin you currently own.

I got 14 btc but I think that's so low
Yeah you're correct because most users in this forum have at least 15 BTC.

Sorry its too private question and not answer how many bitcoin holding right now because my government will hunt for getting taxes if you show your self have many assets of cryptocurrency  ;D.
Either you answer or not, the government already know who you're and how much the coins you have without you need to reveal it since you're using centralized exchange.

We've all been there, wondering what if? about decisions in hindsight.  The truth is none of us have a crystal ball to see where prices might go.  For all we know, Bitcoin's value might have ended up crashing (unlikely).

At the end of the day all any of us can do is make the best decisions we can with the information we have at the time and  i try not to dwell on the past or beat yourself up over it.  You took a reasonable action back then that made sense given your situation.  Sure you think about what could've happened, but that kind of speculation doesn't really get you anywhere.  But you also know playing it safe isnt always a bad call either.  It's about finding the right balance for your own needs.
