Title: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Post by: peter0425 on June 09, 2024, 10:15:37 AM Most of us have decided on our dream jobs early on. When we were young we dreamed about specific things no matter how realistic they were. Of course as children all we cared about was our dream but slowly as we get older we start to realize that our dream may be as well dead. There are too many responsibilities as adults that we can no longer make our dreams happen
My question is what if you had a chance to finally do your dream job, will you take it even if it isn’t the most financially wise decision? Or would you accept reality and just do a job that pays the bills? Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Of course as children all we cared about was our dream but slowly as we get older we start to realize that our dream may be as well dead. There are too many responsibilities as adults that we can no longer make our dreams happen I am now almost 30 years old, from here I think that my dream job is just a childhood dream, the most important thing now is a job with a big salaryMy question is what if you had a chance to finally do your dream job, will you take it even if it isn’t the most financially wise decision? Or would you accept reality and just do a job that pays the bills? I am currently working in a job that is not my dream, but I am happy because the results I get can give me a comfortable life. In the future, I am sure that I will accept the job that I am currently working on as part of me and I will accept it with grace Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Of course as children all we cared about was our dream but slowly as we get older we start to realize that our dream may be as well dead. There are too many responsibilities as adults that we can no longer make our dreams happen We must always aim for our dream job specially if this is a good paying one in which you will enjoy the working place , enjoy the work itself and will enjoy the salary , but what you must understand that dreams sometimes should be set aside to face what is the reality of life I mean work for a while until you get that chance of grabbing your dream job.My question is what if you had a chance to finally do your dream job, will you take it even if it isn’t the most financially wise decision? Or would you accept reality and just do a job that pays the bills? because lets admit that life sometimes is unfair , but this does not mean that we need to stop dreaming and do everything to achieve that , but try to consider first what is in your front table before looking forward. Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Post by: boyptc on June 09, 2024, 07:04:12 PM This is a good question and very situational.
If the dream job is near to my home or it's going to be a work from home setup even if the pay is lower compared to my dream salary, I might take it as long as the salary is going to be enough but much better more than enough for our needs. And as for these dream salaries, to be honest that they're the most desirable nowadays due to economic situation but I can't imagine what kind of responsibility you'll have with that. I'll choose innerpeace, work-life balance than high salary that has a toxic working environment but if that's toxicity isn't for both choice, that's going to be a tough thing but I'd rather go with convenience. Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Post by: mich on June 10, 2024, 03:19:56 AM Well for me it is going to be to have a dream job. My child hood dream was to be a architect but it did not happen. The salary was going to be good too so I would have both.
But there is sometimes some stress with that kind of job. My current job is not my dream job but for me the pay is ok and I like to come to work. Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Post by: C10H15N on June 10, 2024, 03:26:34 AM I never considered a job to be a dream. It was a necessity to make me enough to never have to work another day in my life. That dream took 45 years of working to come true. 8)

My child hood dream was to be a architect but it did not happen. The salary was going to be good too so I would have both. Some “dream jobs” such as becoming doctors, lawyers, architects or engineers require a chunk of your time and money hence why lots of people never got to achieve to actually work these jobs even if they are high paying ones. Quote But there is sometimes some stress with that kind of job. My current job is not my dream job but for me the pay is ok and I like to come to work. I think all jobs are stressful but most especially the ones I have mentioned. They are always in high stress situations which is why they are being paid well. It makes me think whether it’s still worth it to pursue a career that would be draining even if you are already earning what you need in a relatively less stressful environment.Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Post by: btc78 on June 10, 2024, 08:05:12 AM I never considered a job to be a dream. It was a necessity to make me enough to never have to work another day in my life. Same here. I think I have once struggled before with a similar dilemma. I don’t know if I had enough of a passion to have a dream job. When we are kids, we usually think we’d reach the space as astronauts but then once real life hits you, you’d realize you just want to have a job that will allow you to basically not have a job but still live well if that makes sense ;D. Quote That dream took 45 years of working to come true. 8) Good for you, mate! Enjoy your life now as you have earned it.I just want to travel around and do my hobbies, honestly. Sucks to have to work 2x as hard as some people who were already born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? There are too many responsibilities as adults that we can no longer make our dreams happen This reminds me of my childhood dream and that is to become a PILOT , everytime my teacher and unclesasks me What do you want to be when you grow old t, that is the only dream I wanted but changes when i turn into college because being lack of financial support I choose to live with other courses and not even finishing my degree but I am proud of what I am now. Quote My question is what if you had a chance to finally do your dream job, will you take it even if it isn’t the most financially wise decision? Or would you accept reality and just do a job that pays the bills? go for it mate , life is short so once you have that opportunity then better to grab that or else it will be losing forever , remember that opportunity only knock once not twice . Post by: moneystery on June 10, 2024, 03:27:50 PM when i was little i wished that i could be a navy soldier because it looked cool and strong. but as i grew up i realized that it was just my dream profession, and what i needed was a realistic job that made a lot of money, not just a job that fulfilled my childhood expectations. so honestly i would choose a dream salary over a dream job, because in this world what you need is money not just a cool job.

I agree but at the same time, you only live once and shouldn’t we try to make the most out of our life? Life is too short to live it doing something you don’t like. You’d want to do something you’re passionate in and you feel happy doing. This is where the problem lies. Unfortunately I know so many people who had to set aside their dreams because of financial difficulties.Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Post by: GideonGono on June 13, 2024, 05:26:04 PM Right now it would be dream salary, but we should also think if it would be worth it for our health.
There are some who would earn big but in exchange their body couldn't keep up woth it they would be mentally drained or always be exhausted. If we want to have a higher salary we should also be prepared for the work load, not just the salary. If I already have enough saving and already have a passive income from investment or business then I could try my dream job. Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Post by: PhillipDe78 on June 16, 2024, 10:22:47 AM I dream of not having to work at all :D. However, I think I would probably die of boredom even if I did my favorite hobby all day.

However, I think I would probably die of boredom even if I did my favorite hobby all day. Haha same here lol routine is what keeps me sane and disciplined. I feel so bored when I have no schedule to follow. I need structure and I can not live just freestyling everything. Though I would enjoy having a lot more day offs than usual ;D Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Post by: kotajikikox on June 16, 2024, 03:00:43 PM You can’t say for sure, but I would like to have my own business and receive at least $2,000 a month That does not seem too unrealistic to be honest.Especially if it is not a small business and it grows to be a big company, 2k usd is not that far off. It would depend on the nature of business you want to pursue and may I just recommend that if you are going to dream about your dream salary dream higher. ;) Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Post by: RTX-G53 on June 18, 2024, 04:52:37 AM It is not enough to dream, we have to implement that dream. And to realize that dream we have to make decisions along with hard work. If you only dream, but do nothing to fulfill that dream, then that dream will never come true. After becoming an adult, when family responsibilities fall on us, then we realize how difficult it is to fulfill our dreams along with family responsibilities. But even then we can't walk backwards in our dream, we have to continue working hard and move towards realizing our dreams.
Title: Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? Post by: HMb1996 on June 19, 2024, 12:47:35 PM Well, every child has an aspiration, but what does a child needs to achieve his/her dreams, an average child from where I come from hardly attain his/her goal, and mostly due lack of necessary support from the parents due to financial constraints, and lack of support support from the government...As we were growing up, we had bigger plans, but due to circumstances, we where left with no choice to hold on to what is available to survive from.
